I fell into the Shen Yun/Fa Lun Gong trap and am so mad at myself for that. Scale me on stupidity and warn your followers, they gotta hear it.
I would not call victims of cults stupid so therefore be free of the scale!! Reasonable and intelligent people are still susceptible to falling into cults, falling for scams, MLMs, etc. If you do not know much about anything related to Falun Gong's beliefs or the stories they tell (cough make up coughcough) through Shen Yun, then it is easy to get reeled in.
It doesn't help that a lot of the English language info that pops up when you Google Falun Gong/Shen Yun is positive, to the point that even the Falun Gong Wikipedia page paints them as a mostly innocuous spiritual group persecuted by the Evil CCP. They really like to play up this angle, by the way, and sadly for many people in the west, they hear the part where they're forbidden by the CPC and think that automatically means Falun Gong is good and everything they say must be true.
Anyway.
Here are some pieces for others to look at if you're interested and haven't seen them yet:
Video sources
if you're an audio/visual person.
Personally I think the papers/articles are more informative and less annoying (The second video is a video essay whose creators I can only describe as "probably spend a lot of time on liberal Twitter" and "clearly learned everything they know about China from Reddit")
youtube
^2020 release date (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzlMQyM8p74) ↳ Includes interviews of both Falun Gong and former Falun Gong figures. If you're like me, the condescending Englishman POV will make you roll your eyes at least once.
youtube
^2021 release date (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzlMQyM8p74) ↳ sort of gives an overview about Falun Gong from an outsider POV, but the narrator uncritically repeats some of the persecution claims made by Falun Gong (esp. the organ harvesting claims, which are most likely not true imo), and by Amnesty International...via Falun Gong advocates. I honestly wouldn't bother to link this video as a source except it seems like one of the bigger ones that show up in a Youtube search, and they do touch on a lot of sources. Their research just seems really shallow and their commentary on the issue is rudimentary to the point of being unnecessary tbh.
Papers/Articles
ExposingTheFalunGong.org (via wayback machine), a website created by the child of former members ↳ This site includes more description of actual belief, which might better inform you on why they are/can be harmful
Stepping Into the Uncanny, Unsettling World of Shen Yun (The New Yorker, 2019)
The Obscure Newspaper Fueling the Far-Right in Europe (The New Republic, 2019) ↳ This is mostly about The Epoch Times, which is a Falun Gong funded newspaper and mouthpiece.
A Burning Faith in the Master: Interpreting the 1.23 Incident (paper hosted by JSTOR, 2018) (Google Drive link if you're out of JSTOR articles this month) ↳ The 1/23 Incident was an incident where multiple Falun Gong practitioners interpreted words by Li Hongzhi (FLG's founder) to mean they should self-immolate at Tiananmen Square

Evidence that proves Meghan and Harry's photo of Prince Archie was doctored and that the Sussex's are now trying to cover it up. by u/Quiet-Vanilla-7117
Evidence that proves Meghan and Harry's photo of Prince Archie was doctored, and that the Sussex's are now trying to cover it up. Posted for u/Siabreeze who doesn't yet have posting privileges.Today, CNN posted that Catherine had "doctored" a picture of the Queen because it stated on Getty that the image had been "digitally enhanced at source."Meghan and Harry's photo of Archie's christening said the EXACT SAME THING, that it had been "digitally enhanced at source."I noticed this a few days ago and I archived the Getty page in the Wayback Machine, because I was worried that the Sussex's might try to remove this. And that's exactly what happened. The Getty webpage has now been edited and the part about the photo being digitally enhanced has been removed. The Sussex's are the copyright holders of the image, so it would've had to have been them who did this. This is the current Getty webpage with the "digitally enhanced at source" removed: https://ift.tt/83lWGbL is the March 15th archived version from the Wayback Machine before the description was tampered with: https://ift.tt/DOnqY5V just wanted to make everyone aware of this because Catherine is getting slammed by the sugars and the media for doing the exact same thing Harry and Meghan did. And I know the news media sometimes lurks on this sub, so maybe one of them will see this and report on the cover up the Sussex's are now engaged in.This is the original description from Getty that states the picture was digitally enhanced:https://ift.tt/LEizTMl post link: https://ift.tt/SvmbOI8 author: Quiet-Vanilla-7117 submitted: March 20, 2024 at 01:48AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. I got a new copy of Urbz that came in-box! The copy I’ve played since I was 13 came from a friend in a blank jewel case lol so I wanted the real deal finally.
Looking through the manual, the last page had this ad for Urbz... toys? Which sounded fake (or another cancelled project) so I looked it up aaaaand well they DID exist in some form! For both console & handheld versions of the game.
Though I can’t confirm if there was more than one batch made lol because searching “Atomic Toys Urbz” only brings up news articles from 2004 announcing the possibility that it’s happening.

hello and welcome to another episode of Shi Has Strong Opinions on Niche Canon with Citable Sources, this time focusing on something that technically isn't canon one way or the other — my preferred fan-transliterated name for Raven's hometown in Tales of Vesperia, which is never referred to by name in any officially translated material.
anyway it's spelled Pharihyde and in this essay I will die on this hill
Context
In case you clicked the read-more with no stake in this game just because you want to see me being pedantic, let me recap the relevant facts of the argument:
Raven's backstory is never fully explained in the base game, but it was elaborated on in official side materials. The same story, titled 虚空の仮面 (Kokuu no Kamen, commonly translated as Empty Mask), was released in multiple formats: light novel[1], manga[2], and drama CD[3]. None of these have ever been officially translated, but fans have made their own attempts at each over the years.
The town in question here does not appear in the original game, due to having been obliterated during the prequel events. It's also never mentioned by name in the drama CD, leaving only two sources for a name: the light novel and the manga.
Officially, it is named ファリハイド (Farihaido).
Tumblr media
The first translation the English-speaking fandom ever saw of any Kokuu no Kamen material was when one fan (whose identity was regrettably lost to time) took a stab at summarizing the light novels, not long after they were first published back in 2010. This fan transliterated the town's name as Pharihyde.
Tumblr user dokidokimaster was commissioned to finally translate the manga in 2015. In this translation, the town was spelled Farryheid.
By the time the manga was being translated, the web page that hosted the light novel summary had tragically gone down. Luckily, I was active enough in the fandom at the time to have had the link to the light novel bookmarked, so I was able to find an archive via the blessed Wayback Machine, but I can't fault dokidokimaster for the inconsistencies.
tl;dr of section: OG town name is ファリハイド; LN calls it Pharihyde; manga calls it Farryheid. Rest of essay is about why me preferring the name that came first isn't just me being a cranky fandom elder I swear
It's About The World It's In
In the world of Terca Lumireis, on the continent of Ilyccia, somewhere far from the capital city, Zaphias, there was once a town called... Farryheid? No, Pharihyde. The latter fits better with the precedents set by the official names around it, and I will literally break it down letter by differing letter to prove it!
'Ph' vs 'F'
Among officially transliterated locations and other "made-up" names in Tales of Vesperia, there are 3 that include 'ph' to represent an 'f' sound (Zaphias, Zopheir, Phaeroh). Only a single name uses an actual 'f' for that sound (Ghasfarost), and it also still has an 'h' as the second letter in the word.
Single vs. Double 'R'
After a ctrl+F pass through the entire list of location names in this game[4], not a single one contains the substring 'rr'. Only one R at a time in Terca Lumireis!
Vowel Choice and Lexical Stress
So, English has this neat little feature where some syllables in a word get more emphasis than others! And that plays heavily into this section, because 'i' and 'y' can sound identical when using 'y' as a vowel, but the existing place names stress them differently.
Now, as the Drama CD doesn't give us a spoken example of ファリハイド to work from (and Japanese doesn't do stress the way English does anyway), where the stress goes in either "Pharihyde" or "Farryheid" is technically unconfirmed... But my default reading is with primary stress on the first syllable, and secondary stress on the last (FAR-ee-hide).
In the precedent-setting place names, based on the English dub of the 360 version*, a lone 'i' is seen unstressed in at least 16 distinct names, including the ones I referenced in my intro scene-setting sentence (ZA-phi-as, TER-ca LU-mi-reis). To my knowledge, lone 'i' is never pronounced with stress in dialogue (and potentially appears only once, in the plot-irrelevant Niffel Lake).
In contrast, whenever 'y' is used as any kind of vowel, it always gets at least secondary stress, as in Hypionia (high-pee-O-nee-ah) and Rhybgaro (RIB-ga-ro). Thus, "Pharihyde" using an 'i' for the middle vowel and a 'y' for the last one lines up with established precedent.
Also, the double vowel 'ei' is consistently and exclusively used to represent an 'ay' sound, as in "day", not as in "hide"! Deidon Hold, Keiv Moc, and again Zopheir and Terca Lumireis — none of these 'ei's sound the way "Farryheid" wants you to pronounce it!
Silent 'e'
I did say I'd break down every different letter between "Pharihyde" and "Farryheid", but this last one's not for flavour, it's just to get the 'y' to act as the right kind of vowel sound. Just a normal feature of English pronunciation rules here (though not entirely without precedent: Halure, Relewiese, Laulyse). Sorry to go out with a whimper ^^;;
Conclusion
The base content of Tales of Vesperia sets up some implied rules about how its made-up-for-the-game words function. "Farryheid" may be a perfectly reasonable transliteration of ファリハイド in a vacuum, but "Pharihyde" follows the rules of the setting, literally to the letter!
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
Tumblr media
*Footnote about the pronunciation thing: the new voice lines added in the Definitive Edition of the game pronounce some place names inconsistently. I can only assume that by the time they recorded the new lines, a decade after the original ones, they forgot how some pronunciations worked and didn't check their old work... :/

ARTICLE: "Rookie title is a good result." (FIAF3Europe.com, 2015)
Tumblr media
source: fiaf3europe.com via wayback machine published: october 27th, 2015 series: f3 euro, 2015
27.10.2015. The battle for the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship rookie title was dominated by Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing). The ranking that solely is open for Formula 3 newcomers was won by the Monegasque in superior style and with a clear lead over George Russell (Carlin) and Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam) who finished second and third respectively.
Charles Leclerc made an impressive debut in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship by winning one of the three races of the season kick-off at Silverstone and finishing runner up in one of the others. In edition, he also secured his first two poles, at the British GP circuit. “The winter tests went really well but devising clear expectations for the season kick-off was still difficult. Nonetheless, I slightly hoped that things would take a positive course,” the Monegasque says about his first appearance on the FIA Formula 3 European Championship grid.
And he continued to deliver in fine style. After the sixth race meeting, at the Norisring, Leclerc had four race wins, four second places and five third places under his belt. And on the fifth race weekend, at Spa-Francorchamps, he even took the championship lead. But from Zandvoort he struggled with problems and lost the lead. “We suddenly had our problems finding the perfect set-up,” the 18-year old admits. Nonetheless, he kept on scoring and never lost his lead in the rookie ranking. He even was that dominant that he secured the rookie title as early as on the penultimate race weekend. “Having won the rookie championship is a good result,” he concludes.
In the end, he finished fourth in the championship, in his first Formula 3 season, thus defeating numerous far more experienced drivers on the highly competitive grid. A success that also once again underlined that Team Van Amersfoort Racing has got what it takes to successfully work with rookies and that the success of Max Verstappen who contested the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship for the Dutch squad wasn’t a flash in the pan. “I had a good feeling right after the first test for Van Amersfoort Racing and from that point in time they were my first choice for the 2015 season,” says Leclerc whose father, Hervé Leclerc also raced in Formula 3, back in the mid-1980s. According to the young gun, his family and Nicola Todt’s agency Allroad Management that has been working with him since 2010 are his most important supporters.
One of the other drivers in the Allroad Management line-up was Frenchman Jules Bianchi and Bianchi and Leclerc were not only colleagues, but friends. “We often spent time together and our fathers also were close friends.” Therefore, it was extremely tough for Leclerc when Bianchi passed away on 17 July due to the head injuries he had suffered on 05 October, 2014 in the Japanese Formula 1 GP. “It was a really hard time but it never made an impact on my performances,” says Leclerc.
When it comes to the future, the pupil who – in his free time – likes any kind of sport or to meet his Italian girlfriend Giada, first of all dreams of making it to Formula 1. “That’s the ultimate goal of every young racing driver and I’m no exception. Le Mans definitely also would be great but currently, Formula 1 is what I want to achieve.” To be perfectly prepared if or when he makes it to the pinnacle of motor racing, he prepares in every area. “I still go to school although it’s a kind of home school. I want to pass my A levels next year to have the chance to study something technical should my racing schedule allow me doing so. I think such a course of studies would help me becoming an even better racing driver.”

Collected Sources about the Stolen Songs
Yesterday an article was published by What’s On Weibo giving an objective overview about the stolen songs accredited to Zhang Zhehan that have been released in the last month. I was going to make a post today linking that article, but it has been taken down for unknown reasons (still viewable through [screenshots] and [the Wayback Machine]), so I may as well just write my own thing.
Below is collected information and sources outlining concerns regarding the legitimacy of the songs Melancholy Sunshine, Knight Errant, and 途. I will keep this up to date; if you have more information, feel free to send it to me so it can be added.
Despite the fact that 813 was specifically concerned with nationalism, the songs have only been released on international platforms, none native to China. Please consider how this looks to the general public.
The YouTube account posting the songs is YoYoRock: a Taiwanese distributer, not a licensing company. [Here] is an ask I previously answered about this.
Online streaming makes you pennies nowadays, money is not the primary goal of these releases.
The chart ratings (ie. views and sales) were openly artifically inflated, with people known to be involved in the Zhang Sanjian scam publicly encouraging fans in China to use illegal VPNS and make additional accounts in order to boost sales. [Here] is a video of Zhang Zhehan apologizing to fans for charging the equivalent of $0.60 USD for his album, [here] is a video of him telling a fan to spend money on their family rather than him.
The iTunes charts are entirely based on sales, [here] is a YouTube video explaining how easy this is to manipulate if you have the means. [thread tracking the huge rises and falls of the songs]
Melancholy Sunshine fell dramatically after the song’s title was changed to English, and the scam gang blamed that as the reason. iTunes would not change the title, that was something done manually. It falling coincided with midnight in China and was likely actually a result of the time running out on how long water armies has been bought for.
Songs being released without an artist’s permission is unfortunately far from unheard of, with the most well known example being Taylor Swift.
Spotify will not take down songs posted illegally unless a copyright claim is registered.
There is some question of if these songs were sung by Zhang Zhehan at all, as the scam has already been using proven deepfakes since May. [example of audio deepfaking] Melancholy Sunshine is the only one that has any evidence of being legitimate in this regard, as the demo for it was leaked after 813.
Knight Errant has an Explicit rating on iTunes—again, this was probably manually applied, as the song does not contain any language that would auto-trigger iTunes’ filter. China has much higher standards for celebrity conduct that western cultures, releasing an “explicit” song would not reflect well on Zhang Zhehan.
途 was premiered via radio rather than online streaming:  -  The first of these radio stations introduced it with audio supposedly spoken by Zhang Zhehan, only for a fan to admit shortly after that she had spliced this audio together using two videos of him from 2020, saying that she had not intended for people to think it was new. [further info about this]  -  Another radio station that played it briefly discussed 813 in their introduction, referring to the event that had many people fearing for his life for months and that almost resulted in his mother’s suicide as an “oopsie”, and not offering any clarifications about the falsity of the smears.
[Masterlist of my other posts regarding the situation with Zhang Zhehan]

This schedule is from March 2004, sourced from the Sky TV Guide via the Wayback Machine. I was only able to view the Thursday schedule as opposed to the entire week, which is why it’s been formatted differently. As you can easily tell, there was a serious lack of variety during this specific day. I don’t know if it was because of the Easter Holidays or just Thursdays specifically but assuming it to be the overall 5-day weekly schedule, excluding weekends, it doesn’t look very good.
Firstly, not enough variety. The schedule is too repetitive and reeks of 2013 Cartoon Network UK. The same set of shows repeated multiple times in a noticeable pattern throughout the day, even sneaking past 9pm, and that side of the schedule isn’t much better, as once again, Gadget Boy takes up 3 hours for no reason along with several shows that were already broadcast plenty throughout the day. Aside from those, you have some odd choices like Fat Dog Mendoza and Mike Lu & Ogg, both of which were likely removed the following year.
Strange to not see a single Billy & Mandy rerun, though assuming that Grim & Evil had already finished its run in the UK by then, with Billy & Mandy itself either airing on weekends or still awaiting its UK premiere knowing how long some of their shows take to get here. Also very weird to see that many airings for Robot Jones on a single day, though knowing CN’s general treatment of such shows, it’s safe to assume they were just burning the whole series off as fast as they could.
CN UK must have really LOVED Dexter’s Lab in the early 2000s. The show’s airtime was easily exceeding Ed Edd & Eddy’s, which I always thought to be the more popular cartoon. Maybe it was a UK thing? It’s also funny how much KND I’m seeing, as that got pushed to the side in its later years (2007-2009) in favour of other shows, including Ed Edd & Eddy.
I believe that’s about it lol

In my internet wanderings I discovered a remnant of an elaborate “play by post” forum RPG called End of the Dream!  It ran from the “early internet” G1 era to G3 (2006 or so).  Sadly the forum is no longer available; I got a screenshot of its front page via The Wayback Machine, but the subforum links didn’t work.
This RPG definitely deserves to be remembered. Did you play it back in the day?  LMK!
What I Was Able to Scrounge Up:
Main End of the Dream page on Google Sites
Story Summary
Another main page, on The Wayback Machine
Glossary of Terms -  (”OMM!” - Oh my Mimic!;  “Unipeg – A pony that is a mix of a Pegasus and a Unicorn. Also referred to as an ‘alicorn’ by some.”)
Random Pony Generator, via The Wayback Machine (and they shouted out my old website at the end of the page, awww!)
The Setting, as Copied from Above Sources:
The 60 second EoD
29 years ago (11 BD) Silver Dream is born to Sundance. This was a bad thing. Silver Dream is a Unicorn (obviously a half-breed) that is white with silver hair. 27 years ago (9 BD) Silver Dream's sister, Justice, is born. This ain't all that good of a thing either and is, in fact, kinda wierd as Justice is dark grey with grey hair and is blind and is also a Unicorn (the creator of the game liked Unicorns). Every pony born after Justice is born with dark colors and a number with funky magical powers. This is both funky and bad and has all of the "Ponies of Light" scratching their heads, but not for very long. 18 years ago (0 BD), Megan dies (most of the ponies don't know this, yet), which is really bad and over a period of several months ALL of the original ponies (ie, the canonical MLP's) die. The remaining "Ponies of Darkness" believe a disease killed all of the "Ponies of Light" but that they couldn't get it for some wierd reason. This event is called "The Great Death". After all of this, the only remaining pony that is lightly colored is Silver Dream, who then claims the throne of Ponyland with the argument that she is the only remaining "Pony of Light". This ain't a very good thing either. Almost everyone accepts this and supports her, but then they learn that this wasn't a good idea. She has some serious issues and is mean, cruel, etc., etc... Now, almost nobody likes her. But she just wants to rule Ponyland for whatever reason. She especially doesn't like Prince or Princess ponies or anyone that's lightly colored, as they could threaten her political platform. The rest of Ponyland has fallen into some light form of disorder now and resembles Europe of the medieval / dark ages. Think medieval fantasy novel, but with Ponies being the dominant species.
The 90 second supplement to the 60 second EoD
Ponyland is an alternate plane of existence that resides within the realm of dreams. Many of it's residents (mainly the ponies) are wished into existence by certain individuals of the real world. This can be, and often is, done without the individual knowing it. The ponies can also be born like any other creature would be. It is theorized that natural birth accounts for most of the population within Ponyland. However, all are dependent on the individual that wished them (or their parents) into existence in the first place (which is why the person is sometimes referred to as the ponies' "pillar"). Megan was the support for the canonical MLP's and when she died, so did all of the ponies that depended on her. Silver Dream was the first pony that was created by Molly's (Megan's younger sister) will, though we are unsure if she is aware of what she's done. Molly, for whatever reason (read: that is what the creator of the RPG told us), has a very sour view of life and the world, which is why all of her ponies are dark though they aren't all mean and cranky like she is. Also, the ponies that live in a place known as Friendship Gardens (2nd generation MLP's that Hasbro released) were created by Danny (Megan and Molly's brother), though he doesn't know about them. The ponies of Ponyville (3rd generation MLP toys) are also around, but we don't know why just yet. Dragons, Dream Beauties, and a special breed of Twinkle-Eyed ponies, are considered ancient creatures and have been around for a really, really, long time. They're independent of any happenings within the real world. Ponyland itself is now densly populated with mostly ponies and other creatures. Many towns and villages exist, and Ponyland itself is pretty large too.

One sad thing about the Talespin fandom as a larger community being basically defunct is that it means that visual resources are pretty scattered and more often than not just broken images on old fansites, if those fansites are even still up (oh yeah, I ought to mention that Animation Source is still accessible via the wayback machine, it just isn’t being updated anymore due to the site ownership being in limbo, which, for archival purposes, isn’t bad)
I just wish there was some database of model sheets and clean, high-def backgrounds. Like the only way to collect backgrounds from this show is to buy production art on eBay. If anyone happens to know about something like that existing, I’d love to know. I’d do it myself if I had the money to buy everything, since my scanner’s pretty good.

hii, sorry to bother you. idk if this's been asked but, is there any footage of live performances by coltemonikha or early capsule (phony phonic era for example)? i can't seem to find any. love your blog btw
Nope. All of that happened pre-smartphone era and they were all flops so there aren't professionally filmed performances or anything (majority of capsule and COLTEMONIKHA's took place in music stores and clubs). The earliest footage I've ever seen of capsule performing was this mysteriously-sourced video from 2006; performances are generally going to have been documented via (usually low resolution) pictures only, and many sites (like peoples' blogs [non-Tumblr] and whatnot) that hosted that kind of content are gone due to domain expiration, Wayback Machine isn't great at saving images/video, etc.
A bit of an aside but I've noticed a strange trend in the past few years of teenagers/generally younger people finding and getting interested in this stuff. While there isn't an age limit on enjoying music itself, it's going to be difficult and generally not all that fun to follow as a "fan" who wants content to consume, lol. capsule's best years are far behind them and Nakata has turned into a hermit, Kyary's gotten hitched and Perfume have majorly slowed down their activities...I feel like young people deserve to be invested in up-and-coming current artists/media and not people 30+ years old who debuted when these fans were born.
(Someone's probably going to take all of this the wrong way, but it's just my personal feeling on the matter. I've looked at the current younger crop of fans and I just end up feeling bad that this stuff is so boring; I don't know how many times someone can complain about Yasutaka no longer using Instagram before they finally lose interest.)

Maxi and his old crewmates. Kyam and Yagaji are among them, and you just might be able to spot a few of the others in the ending of Maxi’s Soul Chronicle. I recall a Cadena mentioned in SC6, whom I think is either of the two women in this. The most I can find are mentions of her in the relationship charts in Legend of Soulcalibur and in New Legends of Project Soul (spelled “Kadena” though). The latter happens to be my only source for this image (page 47), shrunk-down as it seems to have been. The cropping is... well, that’s how it looked on that page. Style-wise, it looks like it’s from Soulcalibur’s gallery, but it hasn’t turned up in of the slideshows I’ve been able to find on YouTube. I’ve looked through the Soul Archive website via the Wayback Machine before, but no such luck. Even TinEye came up empty for me.

Demo music from series 2, believed to be the sample posted by Elizabeth Thomas to her blog. She was part of a London chorus used for some of the music in the series.
The beats you can hear are the metronome, which help musicians and singers keep pace.

Upcoming recording
I talked yesterday about rehearsing for a recording session next week for a BBC television show. (wiki info: Merlin is a British television drama series that began in 2008. It is loosely based on the Arthurian legends of the mythical wizard Merlin and his relationship with Prince Arthur, but differs significantly from traditional versions of the myth.)
I tried to get an MP3 file to embed so you could hear the way we will record the music -- with the orchestration underneath a loud metronome so we won't mess up the timing. I think I finally got this MP3 player to embed OK so you can hear:
Last night was interesting. The composer (ROB LANE ... "Composing the score for this BBC updating of the Arthurian legend has been a great challenge for me," he said recently) came to rehearsal with new pages of music for us to learn. When something didn't work, he would start tinkering with the music right then and there. Such a privilege to be able to witness the process of a person creating music right in front of me. I watched him hunched over the grand piano, working on musical problems that only he could hear.

I couldn't find any good references when it came to drawing Indian clothing (specifically in anime-esque style), so I ended up trying to make my own.
The only source I could find on sarees was "How to Draw Manga Vol. 22: Bishoujo Around the World". I was unable to find any reference books with information on Salwar Suits.
Finish Salwar Kameez section
Add details on motifs + symbolism (varies across the region)
Consult others on details
Also, the source I mentioned above is out of print and isn't available for digital purchase anywhere. The only reason I was able to use it was thanks to the @internetarchive. I was able to use the scanned English version as well as get info on the Japanese version (via Wayback Machine). The only complaint I have is that the metadata needs fixing (isbn, publisher, etc).
TODO:
Finish Salwar Kameez section
Add details on motifs + symbolism (varies across the region)
Consult others for specifics
If anyone has issues / suggestions / feedback on this, feel free to reach out. This has been sitting on my drive for a while and I'm hoping to finish it up once I find the motivation.

title: "CHARLES LECLERC: “ROOKIE TITLE IS A GOOD RESULT”" source: fiaf3europe.com, via the wayback machine format: article season: 2015, f3 european championship
Tumblr media

CubeBit Review: Crypto Ponzi pyramid “ecosystem”
Oct.25, 2020 in
MLM Reviews
CubeBit doesn’t provide any information about who owns or runs the company on its website.
On October 2nd a video titled “Cubebit Interview with the CEO” was uploaded to CubeBit’s official YouTube channel.
The video features an interview with CubeBit’s “newly appointed” CEO, Konstantin Janke.
Janke works for Big Eye News. Big Eye News is part of Big Eye Media, a production company that claims it’s “dedicated to providing high quality and informative content.”
Big Eye Media is part of Big Eye Agency, “an audience-focused, creative-driven, full-service advertising agency”.
A Big Eye promo precedes Janke’s CubeBit CEO video interview, so it seems part of their offering is producing fake CEO videos.
Janke appears to have been hired to play CEO following the appointment of CubeBit’s original CEO, a Fivver gig:
Interviewing Janke is CubeBit’s Master Global Ambassador, Romel Gumiran.
Gumiran is an actual person. In addition to Master Global Ambassador Gumiran is also the sole officer of CubeBit Business Solutions, a UK shell company incorporated in May.
As per the shell incorporation, Gumiran is Filipino but resides in Norway (this might explain the Janke actor’s accent). On Facebook however Gumiran’s recent posts feature photos shot in Dubai.
CubeBit’s official Facebook page is managed from Albania (this might also explain the Janke actor’s accent), Brazil and the Philippines.
On his LinkedIn profile, Gumiran pitches himself as
a system consultant at Nexus chain, specializing in developing Token, Cryptocurrency coin, Trading platform for Cryptocurrency and MLM software for MLM startup Company.
Pending any further information coming to light, it appears CubeBit is run by Romel Gumiran. Whether he’s working alone or with others is unclear.
Update 19th March 2021 – Konstantin Janke has been in contact to advise ‘I’m not part of cubebit 2.0 since February 2021′. /end update
CubeBit’s website domain (“cubebit.io”) was first registered in 2018. The private registration was last updated on April 16th, 2020.
Through the Wayback Machine it appears CubeBit’s current website didn’t go live until after the April update. This suggests CubeBit’s owner(s) acquired the domain in April, 2020.
Alexa currently ranks Pakistan as the only significant source of traffic to CubeBit’s website (92%).
As always, if an MLM company is not openly upfront about who is running or owns it, think long and hard about joining and/or handing over any money.
CubeBit’s Products
CubeBit has no retailable products or services, with affiliates only able to market CubeBit affiliate membership itself.
CubeBit’s Compensation Plan
CubeBit’s compensation plan can be broken up into CubeBit recruitment commissions and various other side schemes.
Recruitment commissions are tied to recruitment of either Lite or Elite CubeBit affiliates.
CubeBit Lite affiliate membership costs €49 EUR
CubeBit Elite affiliate membership costs €299 EUR
I’ve detailed CubeBit’s recruitment commissions below. Side schemes, including AdCube and CubeBot, are detailed under their own respective headers.
CubeBit Direct Recruitment Commissions
CubeBit pays a commission on recruitment of affiliates.
A €5 EUR commission is paid on recruitment of Lite affiliates. €30 EUR is paid on recruitment of Elite affiliates.
CubeBit Residual Commissions (binary)
A binary compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a binary team, split into two sides (left and right):
The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).
Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level.
Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of affiliates. Note there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.
Residual commissions are paid on generated sales volume across the binary team.
Lite affiliate recruitment generates 50 BV
Elite affiliate recruitment generates 300 BV
CubeBit pays residual commissions up to four times a day, via convoluted time-sensitive “phases”.
Lite affiliates are paid 20% of matched BV on their first phase and 15% of matched BV on their second phase
Elite affiliates are paid 25% of matched BV on their first phase and 20% of matched BV on their second phase
There are two phases per day, corresponding with AM and PM timing.
Within these phases CubeBit affiliates are able to earn on two rotating pay cycles:
Lite affiliates are paid on a 150/150 BV cycle and then a 300/300 BV cycle, capped at €750 EUR over phase 1 and €1500 EUR over phase 2
Elite affiliates are paid on a 900/900 BV cycle and then a 1800/1800 BV cycle, capped at €3000 EUR over phase 1 and €6000 EUR over phase 2
During each AM/PM phase, cycle matching occurs until the respective earnings cap for that phase is reached.
Note that BV does not carry over from phase to phase.
CubeBit Residual Commissions (2×10 matrix)
A 2×10 matrix places a CubeBit affiliate at the top of a matrix, with two positions directly under them:
These two positions form the first level of the matrix. The second level of the matrix is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).
Levels three to ten of the matrix are generated in the same manner, with each new level housing twice as many positions.
Commissions are paid as a percentage of fees paid across these ten matrix levels as follows:
level 1 (2 positions) – 10%
level 2 (4 positions) – 8%
level 3 (8 positions) – 6%
level 4 (16 positions) – 5%
level 5 (32 positions) – 5%
level 6 (64 positions) – 4%
level 7 (128 positions) – 4%
level 8 (256 positions) – 3%
level 9 (512 positions) – 3%
level 10 (1024 positions) – 2%
Incentive Bonus
CubeBit rewards affiliates for meeting set cycle rotation criteria.
A cycle rotation is completion of two cycles within a phase. Whether rank qualification criteria is met within one phase, two phases or some other time period is not specified.
What Incentive Bonuses can be qualified for are determined by how much a CubeBit affiliate pays in membership fees.
Lite tier affiliates
complete 12 cycle rotations and receive “smart phones”
complete 30 cycle rotations and receive a “tablet”
complete 50 cycle rotations and receive a MacBook Air laptop
Elite and higher tier affiliates
complete 10 cycle rotations and receive “fully paid tuition fee in London Academy of Trading with diploma”
complete 40 cycle rotations and receive a €2500 EUR travel allowance
complete 50 cycle rotations and receive €4000 EUR as “car assistance” and/or a “fully paid “2020 Honda Civic Type R”
complete 100 cycle rotations and receive €8000 EUR as “car assistance” and/or a “fully paid 2020 Camaro”
complete 200 cycle rotations and receive €20,000 EUR as “car assistance” and/or a “fully paid 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S”
complete 500 cycle rotations and receive a “fully paid 2020 Rolls Royce Phantom” or “2020 Lamborghini Aventador”
Leadership Bonus
CubeBit Elite affiliates have access to the Leadership Bonus.
The Leadership Bonus is a series of rewards for qualifying at 1 Star Satoshi and higher Elite tier exclusive ranks.
qualify as a 1 Star Satoshi (complete 10 cycle rotations) and receive “1 Ballet (Silver)”

qualify as a 21M Club Satoshi (complete 100 cycle rotations) and receive “5 Gold Ballet + Coin + Ring & Bitcoin Watch (Frank Muller worth of $20K)”
I’ve quoted Leadership Bonus rewards verbatim because no explanations are provided.
In addition to the above rewards, the Leadership Bonus also pays a Jackpot and Flushout.
1 Star Satoshis receive a 5% Jackpot and Flushout share
2 Star Satoshis receive an 8% Jackpot and Flushout share
3 Star Satoshis receive a 15% Jackpot and Flushout share
4 Star Satoshis receive an 18% Jackpot and Flushout share
5 Star Satoshis receive a 24% Jackpot and Flushout share
21M Club Satoshis receive a 30% Jackpot and Flushout share
Both the Jackpot and Flushout share are funded from funds entering CubeBit.
Ad Cube
Ad Cube is an ethereum-based pyramid scheme run on a 3×9 matrix.
A 3×9 matrix places an affiliate at the top of a matrix, with three positions directly under them:
These three positions form the first level of the matrix. The second level of the matrix is generated by splitting these three positions into another three positions each.
Levels three to nine of the matrix are generated in the same manner, with each new level housing three times as many positions as the previous level.
CubeBit affiliates purchase 0.0114 ETH positions in the matrix.
A 0.0038 ETH commission is paid per subsequent matrix position purchased.
In order to participate fully in the Ad Cube component of CubeBit’s compensation plan, affiliates must purchase at least three Ad Cube matrix positions.
The first Ad Cube matrix position purchase pays commissions on three matrix levels.
The second Ad Cube matrix position purchase pays commissions on up to six matrix levels.
The third Ad Cube matrix position purchase pays commissions on all nine available matrix levels.
Subsequent Ad Cube matrix position purchases continue to pay commissions on all nine available matrix levels.
In addition to matrix commissions, a 0.05 ETH commission is paid every time a personally recruited affiliate purchases a matrix position.
This commission is increased to 0.01 ETH for CubeBit “publishers, influencers & promoters”.
CubeBot
Through CubeBot, CubeBit affiliates invest bitcoin, ethereum or ripple into “an automated crypto trading bot”.
Investment amounts and returns are not disclosed on CubeBot’s website.
Joining CueBit
CueBit affiliate membership is available at four price-points:
Lite – €49 EUR
Elite – €299 EUR
Premiere – €799 EUR
Prestige – €1299
The primary difference between the tiers is the more money spent, the higher a CubeBit affiliate’s income potential.
It is unclear whether these affiliate membership fees are one-time or periodic.
Conclusion
Reading between the lines, CubeBit is an in-house use-case for Romel Gumiran’s flopped Nexus Chain venture.
As per Nexus Chain’s website (“nexuschain.net”), the company provides “offshore company registration” and “premium MLM solution(s)”. Basically your typical “scam in a box” outfit.
Nexus Chain currently has an Alexa website ranking of over 4 million, which for an active business is as good as dead.
And so we have CubeBit Tech. As stated in the introduction of this review, whether Gumiran is working alone or with others from NexusChain is unclear.
What is clear is every aspect of CubeBit, with respect to their MLM opportunity, is fraudulent.
CubeBit itself is a simple pyramid scheme. You sign up, pay a fee and earn commissions when others are recruited who do the same.
Being a pyramid scheme, CubeBit affiliates are openly encouraged to open multiple accounts:
This would of course make no sense in a legitimate business.
Ad Cube is a pyramid scheme within a pyramid scheme. CubeBot is your typical “trading bot” Ponzi scheme.
The algorithms employed in CubeBot are based on driven stake method where we employed tedious testing to identify the most profitable cryptocurrency trading options through automation.
That’s literally all there is to CubeBit as an MLM company.
Outside of MLM CubeBit houses the following components:
Cube Shop – ecommerce platform
Cube Academy – “diverse online courses”
Cube Lab – no information provided
Cube Chat – no information provided
Cube Ride – no information provided
Cube Play – unlicensed gambling platform (illegal)
Cubex – internal exchange
CPay – crypto wallet with disabled fiat withdrawals
CTravel – discount travel booking portal
Cube Portal – smart contract platform
Cube Delivery – no information provided
I didn’t bother going into detail for any of the above as they have nothing to do with CubeBit’s MLM offering.
CPay and Cubex appear to be how withdrawals are processed, and that brings us to CubeCoin.
Presently CubeBit markets with euro amounts for both funds in and out. Within CubeBit is “CubeCoin” (CUB), an worthless ERC-20 shit token generated on demand at little to no cost.
Such to the extent that CubeBit are currently paying with EUR, cryptocurrency or any other form of non-CUB payment, expect that to change when withdrawals exceed funds entering CubeBit.
CubeCoin will be hyped up as being worth something, when in reality it’s just an exit-scam tool. The end-goal will be to dump CubeCoin on CubeBit investors, and exit quietly with what’s left of invested funds.
This exit scam has played out over and over again within the MLM crypto niche.
On the regulatory front pay attention to these individuals:
Despite offering securities to US residents through CubeBot, CubeBit is not registered with the SEC. Not withstanding pyramid schemes also being illegal as per the FTC Act.
Outside of the US CubeBit is just as illegal. The company isn’t registered to offer securities in any jurisdiction.
As with all MLM Ponzi schemes, once affiliate recruitment dies out so too will new investment.
This will starve CubeBit of ROI revenue, eventually prompting a collapse.
The math behind Ponzi schemes guarantees that when they collapse, the majority of participants lose money.
Update 31st October 2020 – After failing to find fault with our review in private, CubeBit has publicly responded to our review on social media.
Update 11th April 2021 – CubeBit has deleted the CEO video referenced in the introduction of this review from their YouTube channel.
I had linked to the video but in light of its removal I’ve also removed the now broken link.

The Last Words of Dutch Schultz
Statements made by Arthur (Dutch  Schultz) Flegenheimer were taken down by a Newark police stenographer, F. J.  Lang. The notes covered a period from about 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon until  Schultz died. During that period he was delirious most of the time, but lucid  at intervals. A transcript of all he said follows:
Schultz at this time was irrational,  suffering with a fever of 106 degrees and a bullet in his stomach. Sergeant  Luke Conlon and other detectives from Newark police headquarters were at his  bedside. One of the officers had a newspaper.
(Schultz noticed newspaper  and spoke) - Has it been in any other papers? George, don't make no full  moves. What have you done with him? Oh, mama, mama, mama. Oh stop it, stop it;  eh, oh, oh. Sure, sure, mama.  Now listen, Phil, fun is fun. Ah please, papa. What happened to the sixteen?  Oh, oh, he done it, please. John, please, oh, did you buy the hotel? You promised  a million sure. Get out. I wished I knew.  Please make it quick, fast and furious. Please. Fast and furious. Please help  me get out; I am getting my wind back, thank God. Please, please, oh please.  You will have to please tell him, you got no case.  You get ahead with the dot dash system didn't I speak that time last night.  Whose number is that in your pocket book, Phi1 13780. Who was it? Oh- please,  please. Reserve decision. Police, police, Henry and Frankie. Oh, oh, dog biscuits  and when he is happy he doesn't get happy please, please to do this. Then Henry,  Henry, Frankie you didn't even meet me. The glove will fit what I say oh, Kayiyi,  oh Kayiyi. Sure who cares when you are through? How do you know this? How do  you know this? Well, then oh, Cocoa know thinks he is a grandpa again. He is  jumping around. No Hobo and Poboe I think he means the same thing.
Q. (from Sergeant Conlon) - Who  shot you?
A.- The boss himself.
Q.- He did?
A.- Yes, I don't know.
Q.- What did he shoot you for?
A.- I showed him boss; did you  hear him meet me? An appointment. Appeal stuck. All right, mother.
Q.- Was it the boss shot you?
A.- Who shot me? No one.
Q.- We will help you.
A.- Will you help me up? O.K.  I won't be such a big creep. Oh, mama. I can't go through with it, please. Oh,  and then he clips me; come on. Cut that out, we don't owe a nickel; hold it;  instead, hold it against him; I am a pretty good pretzler -Winifred- Department  of Justice. I even got it from the department. Sir, please stop it. Say listen  the last night!
(Statement by Sergeant Conlon)  - Don't holler.
A.- I don't want to holler.
Q.- What did they shoot you for?
A.- I don't know, sir. Honestly  I don't. I don't even know who was with me, honestly. I was in the toilet and  when I reached the -the boy came at me.
Q.- The big fellow gave it to  you?
A.- Yes, he gave it to me.
Q.- Do you know who this big fellow  was?
A.- No. If he wanted to break  the ring no, please I get a month. They did it. Come on. (A name, not clear)  cut me off and says you are not to be the beneficiary of this will. Is that  right? I will be checked and double-checked and please pull for me. Will you  pull? How many good ones and how many bad ones? Please I had nothing with him  he was a cowboy in one of the seven days a week fight. No business; no hangout;  no friends; nothing; just what you pick up and what you need. I don't know who  shot me. Don't put anyone near this check~ you might have -please do it for  me. Let me get up. heh? In the olden days they waited and they waited. Please  give me a shot. It is from the factory. Sure, that is a bad. Well, oh good ahead  that happens for trying. I don't want harmony. I want harmony. Oh, mamma, mamma!  Who give it to him? Who give it to him? Let me in the district -fire-factory  that he was nowhere near. It smoldered No, no. There are only ten of us and  there ten million fighting somewhere of you, so get your onions up and we will  throw up the truce flag. Oh, please let me up. Please shift me. Police are here.  Communistic...strike...baloney...honestly this is a habit I get; sometimes I  give it and sometimes I don't. Oh, I am all in. That settles it. Are you sure?  Please let me get in and eat. Let him harass himself to you and then bother  you. Please don't ask me to go there. I don't want to. I still don't want him  in the path. It is no use to stage a riot. The sidewalk was in trouble and the  bears were in trouble and I broke it up. Please put me in that room. Please  keep him in control. My gilt edged stuff and those dirty rats have tuned in.  Please mother, don't tear, don't rip; that is something that shouldn't be spoken  about. Please get me up, my friends. Please, look out. The shooting is a bit  wild, and that kind of shooting saved a man's life. No payrolls. No wells. No  coupons. That would be entirely out. Pardon me, I forgot I am plaintiff and  not defendant. Look out. Look out for him. Please. He owed me money; he owes  everyone money. Why can't he just pullout and give me control? Please, mother,  you pick me up now. Please, you know me. No. Don't you scare me. My friends  and I think I do a better job. Police are looking for you allover. Be instrumental  in letting us know. They are English-men and they are a type I don't know who  is best, they or us. Oh, sir, get the doll a roofing. You can play jacks and  girls do that with a soft ball and do tricks with it. I take all events into  consideration. No. No. And it is no. It is confused and its says no. A boy has  never wept nor dashed a thousand kim. Did you hear me?
Q. (By Detective) - Who shot you?
A.- I don't know.
Q.- How many shots were fired?
A.- I don't know.
Q.- How many?
A.- Two thousand. Come one, get  some money in that treasury. We need it. Come on, please get it. I can't tell  you to. That is not what you have in the book. Oh, please warden. What am I  going to do for money? Please put me up on my feet at once. You are a hard boiled  man. Did you hear me? I would hear it, the Circuit Court would hear it, and  the Supreme Court might hear it. If that ain't the pay-off. Please crack down  on the Chinaman's friends and Hitler's commander. I am sore and I am going up  and I am going to give you honey if I can. Mother is the best bet and don't  let Satan draw you too fast.
Q. (By Detective) - What did the  big fellow shoot you for?
A.- Him? John? Over a million,  five million dollars.
Q.- You want to get well, don't  you?
A.- Yes.
Q.- Then lie quiet.
A.- Yes, I will lie quiet.
Q.- John shot and we will take  care of John.
A.- That is what caused the trouble.  Look out. Please let me up. If you do this, you can go on and jump right here  in the lake. I know who they are. They are French people. All right. Look out,  look out. Oh, my memory is gone. A work relief police. Who gets it? I don't  know and I don't want to know, but look out. It can be traced. He changed for  the worse. Please look out; my fortunes have changed and come back and went  back since that. It was desperate. I am wobbly. You ain't got nothing on him  but you got it on his helper.
Q. (By detective ) - Control yourself.
A.- But I am dying.
(Statemnt by detective) - No,  you are not.
A.- Come on, mama. All right,  dear, you have to get it.
At this point, Schultz's wife,  Frances, was brought to his bedside. She spoke.
(Statement by Mrs. Schultz) -  This is Frances.
Schultz began to talk again,  saying:
Then pull me out. I am half crazy.  They won't let me get up. They dyed my shoes. Open those shoes. Give me something.  I am so sick. Give me some water, the only thing that I want. Open this up and  break it so I can touch you. Danny, please get me in the car.
At this point Mrs. Schultz  left the room.
(Sergeant Conlon questioned Schultz  again) - Who shot you?
A.- I don't know. I didn't even  get a look. I don't know who can have done it. Anybody. Kindly take my shoes  off. (He was told that they were off.) No. There is a handcuff on them.  The Baron says these things. I know what I am doing here with my collection  of papers. It isn't worth a nickel to two guys like you or me but to a collector  it is worth a fortune. It is priceless. I am going to turn it over to... Turn  you back to me, please Henry. I am so sick now. The police are getting many  complaints. Look out. I want that G-note. Look out for Jimmy Valentine for he  is an old pal of mine. Come on, come on, Jim. Ok, ok, I am all through. Can't  do another thing. Look out mamma, look out for her. You can't beat him. Police,  mamma, Helen, mother, please take me out. I will settle the indictment. Come  on, open the soap duckets. The chimney sweeps. Talk to the sword. Shut up, you  got a big mouth! Please help me up, Henry. Max, come over here. French-Canadian  bean soup. I want to pay. Let them leave me alone.
Schultz sank into unconsciousness  then. It was 6:40 P.M. He died less than two hours later, without saying anything  else. Some say this is everything from the ravings of someone on the brink of  death to poetry to secrets of the mob world. You be the judge.
