Youtubers I Watched Who Helped Me Plan Our Japan Trip
I am in the middle of writing a post here and I decided that this topic should come first.
So before we came to Japan last year, I’ve been reading on posts for guides and tips and whatnot so that we will be ready for our first ever Japan trip. The reading then became watching on Youtube and with that we’re able to see how Japan really is, what it looks like, what’s in store for us, and all that.
These vloggers I will mention really helped us plan our trip, and they continue to help us plan our next trip this year. This list is not that long yet and it will be edited from time to time to add more Youtubers because really, there are a lot!
KIM DAO (Main channel; Vlog channel)
I think Kim is one of the first Youtubers I watched because of her Japan products list and tips. She is the one who introduced the website Odigo to me which I used when we went to Japan last time. Check out that website too because it provides for a lot of articles and tips as well. She has a main channel (watch her Top 100 Things to Do in Tokyo video, it’s awesome~) and a vlog channel where she posts her daily whatnots in Japan and in some other countries as well. Just check out her Youtube channels and you’ll know what she has in store for you.
SHARLA (Main channel; Vlog channel)
Sharla is also one of the first Youtubers I watched because Youtube showed her videos in my recommendations. She is now based in South Korea but her Japan posts and vlogs are still up.
TABIEATS (Main channel; Shinichi’s vlog channel)
One of their first videos I watched is the Top 10 list of food to eat in Asakusa. They have a lot of top 10 things to eat list in many different parts and I found out about Chicken Man located in Ameyoko through their channel. They regularly post on their main channel and they also provide some recipes and taste test videos. Just check it out.
Shinichi’s vlog is random but there are some videos where he talks about some food items he tried and many other things which is not put up on their main channel.
RACHEL & JUN (Main channel; Vlog channel; Jun’s Kitchen)
Their main channel consists of many random and funny things and they have these tips for when you go to Japan and all that. Jun’s Kitchen is another channel managed by Jun where he cooks. It’s not as boring as it sounds. Jun’s Kitchen’s cinematography is awesome.
PAOLO FROM TOKYO (Main channel)
I just recently found out about his channel so I wasn’t able to watch it in time for our first trip but now with his amazing lists of things to do and food to eat, it just makes our list of things to go to in Japan longer! It’s really informative and really fun to watch his videos, so do check it out. He also posts regularly and I always look forward to his videos.
TOKYO LENS (Main channel)
I found out about him from Sharla and he’s really great and passionate. He is artistic in the way he presents his videos although some videos are too shaky for my taste but he posts informative videos and all that. Do check him out as well.
I think this ends my list for now. If you have any comments or suggestions, leave them in the box or in my ask box or you can send me a message on my Instagram which is @traveltheworldwithme07. Thank you so much for taking time to read this!

Hey everyone! It’s me... Norm from Tokyo Lens.
Its July 2018 and I just joined Tumblr. I thought it might be something neat to add to the areas that we hang out!
At the time of posting this, I have been running the Tokyo Lens channel for just under a year! It is amazing at how quickly life can move. I have been enjoying getting to know everyone and really look forward to the year ahead of us.
For those of you who don’t know me... a brief rundown
Who is “Norm Nakamura” and what is “Tokyo Lens”
------------
Let’s do this 3rd person...
Norm came to Japan for the first time in 2005 and moved to Japan in 2007. Around 2011/2012 he became an apprentice of the Yoshida Brothers (Tsugaru Shamisen) and soon after, started the channel, Shamisen in Tokyo. Norm started the Tokyo Lens channel but rarely uploaded until he started Season 1 of the Tokyo Lens Vlog in July of 2017. The Vlog was originally intended to showcase the behind the scenes of Shamisen in Tokyo, but quickly became much more.
Now, Norm works as a full-time content creator in Tokyo and produces both channels, while working on video and photo projects for clients.
Norm also creates podcast content for the Tokyo Lens podcast: https://anchor.fm/tokyolens
--------------------------------
While I am active on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and more, if you are looking to get in touch, I recommend reaching out through my website:

Have a great day and see you all again... real soon!
