"You radiate with so much light that I'm sure you'll attract everyone around you. And when I kept thinking about that, my mind began racing with nonsensical thoughts. Thoughts of my own death and what comes afterwards. And if there is such a thing as an afterlife, I'm absolutely sure that you and I will belong in different places. And if that's the case... I would spend an eternity missing you."
A thousand origami cranes I folded for a charity event. It took two months, life was constantly kicking my ass as if to make me give up, but it was all worth it! Look at that beautiful flock about to take flight to help a good cause 🥰
Whooping crane (Grus americana), a large crane species native to North America. Populations decreased after European settlement due to hunting and habitat loss, and in 1941 there were only 15 adults remaining in the wild. Thanks to decades of conservation work there are now over 500 in the wild and additional birds in captivity. You can read more about them from the USFWS here.
So this is my fundraiser for save the children and if this post gets 10,000 notes by the end of March I’ll make 1,000 paper cranes. (These are in addition to the ones I make in exchange for donations btw. Maybe I’ll get a more colourful paper to differentiate them or something idk.)
