Wallpaper Converted From: Animal Crossing: New Horizons for The Sims 2 and The Sims 3

Today we celebrate the 4th anniversary of Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Oh, and my 4th anniversary of being on tumblr! This set includes over 300 wallpapers for The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. I will most likely do a Sims 4 version in the future, as that game would require me to create 2 more textures per wallpaper, because it has 3 wall heights, so I'll need more time to make them. In the meantime, SimderTalia has converted some wallpapers to The Sims 4 already, so you could grab those! I will list some of them below. Please let me know if you run into any issues.

Disclaimer: The swatch above is just a small showcase of what's included, there is a total of 386 walls. Some walls aren't included because I simply didn't have the texture, or I need more time to recreate it. This conversion only contains still images, some of these are supposed to be animated in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I would like to release animated versions of them for The Sims 2 in the future.

fun fact: I've been working on ts3 Eivor for like a month but totally forgot about her until today

her scalp is HORRIBLE because I suck at making skins but look at her wolf-kissed mark and tattoo which I applied in both sides because I was 100% sure she had it that way only to find out I was wrong after spending hours applying both ravens they look neat af / also mind the earrings and random clothing I was in the process of making modern day eivor lol

Another Altami Farm AU after long time! 🥰

Altaïr revealed to Tami the story of the tragic car accident in which he lost his left ring finger and father.

And now here are some townies!

Cyril and Rozália Fountain - Tami's parents and the original owners of the farm. Their goods were the best in the town, but in recent years they sold less and less until they got to the point where they decided to work in the city. Since their daughter does not want to live in a big city, they decided that she will take care of the farm while they will work. They come to see her on weekends and holidays.

Malik and Kadar Al-Sayf - Altaïr's roommates. Malik lost his left arm in the same car crash that Altaïr and his father were in. He's a college student, studying engineering. His younger brother Kadar goes to high school and will soon graduate. They are good friends with Tami.

Abbas Sofian - Once Altaïr's best friend and now his greatest rival. Abbas constantly wants to show that he is the best at everything and tries to compete with Altaïr. He doesn't have a good relationship with Tami, as she befriends (later dates) his rival.

Bayek Nassar (since Bayek doesn't have any last name, so I gave him one 🙂) - The mayor of the town passed away and Bayek became a candidate for the new mayor. He supports people and domestic companies for a better tomorrow. He lives with his wife Aya and son Khemu in the center of the town.

Robert de Sablé - The second candidate for mayor and Bayek's competitor. Unlike his opponent, Robert is more interested in power and building factories for Abstergo Industries. He manipulates voters by promising them a better future and low taxes, but not everyone buys into his words. He plans to tear down the farm, which Tami and Bayek are against.

Maria Thorpe - Robert's assistant, whom he took under his wing after her parents kicked her out of the house due to her rebellious nature. She works for Abstergo believing they will help the other townies, but later realizes her boss' true intentions. At first Tami didn't like her, but as they got to know each other better and had so much in common, they eventually became friends.

3t2 Movie Theater Set

At last, I've finished my theater set!

I've got a door, two-story window, poster, ticket booth, and a (giant!) marquee from the rabbithole. I also decided to convert one of the rooftop AC units since I've never seen this particular type floating anywhere in the s3t2 cc world. And walls, of course!

Firstly, the window. It's 2-tile and 2-story (+ diagonal). The original window didn't have any real bars (it was only a very low res image that gave the illusion of window bars) so I added these and I think it looks quite nice. You have the choice of the original red curtain texture or clear glass.

Next, the doors (+ diagonal). These are fairly simple but I thought they were worth converting. Same deal as the windows above: you can have the red curtain texture or clear glass (the door and window are not repo'd to each other even though they have the same curtain texture).

My pièce de résistance: the marquee. It's massive! I wanted something that could be seen from NH view and was roughly the same scale as the marquee from TS3. This is technically a one-tile object (for easier placement between windows if you wish) but it spans a full 13 tiles. It is 3 stories high and has some glow-in-the-dark elements (you'll find it in Deco > Misc).

Quick placement advice for the marquee: it can sit beneath the windows if you like, but because it's so tall it'll eat into the bottom of the window mesh (see example below).

My advice would be to use the CFE cheat to create a half-height level of your building, and then put the windows on the next two levels above it. The marquee will sit separately from the windows and it'll look more like the original rabbithole (half-height CFE wall in pic below).

Next, I converted the ticket booth as a one-tile deco object so it can sit squarely under your marquee (it also lives in Deco > Misc). I believe someone else may have already converted this? But here it is again if you want a nice piece to put outside your theater. Viewable from NH.

I made a large 2-tile movie poster to match the large posters on the original rabbithole. The frame and poster can be recolored separately (it's the same texture as the base game movie poster Amovitamsim converted, but this is a standalone object).

I've got 7 brick walls and 1 masonry wall for you as well as a carpet floor. I realllllly wanted to convert the top cornice as a fence, but everything I made looked dreadful. So for the top of your building I would recommend a half-wall with the masonry texture on it (also looks good if you have a CFE level between your first and second floors!)

Lastly, this one HVAC unit caught my eye. I'm fairly certain that most of the other AC bits and bobs have been converted by other creators, but this one looked unique. It's viewable from NH and I popped it in Plumbing > Misc since that's where I store all my pipes and AC/utilities-looking objects.

i'm curious to know how would you have wanted mermaids to work (they were my favorites in ts3 😭 and they got NOTHING in ts4 😭) and also how would you want fairies to work if we ever get them 👀 like if you had the power to make the game ajdjakfk

Oooh good question!

I'd want mermaids and fairies to have a similar perk tree as vampires, werewolves, and spellcasters. (Ideally I'd want to have both the power/weakness dynamic vampires have and the dormant abilities werewolves have, but, I dream...!)

A specialization option similar to the one spellcasters have would be cool, too. (Although I think I'd prefer to have them locked into their specialization so they can't master every magic type.)

Some fairy stuff I think would be fun:

Fairies could pick a court (Seelie vs. Unseelie) and have access to one of two spell branches with light or dark spells.

An elemental specialization/type that comes with appropriate buffs/weaknesses.

Wings! A dedicated wing slot!

A floating/flying walk type!

A "miniature" fairy world would just be stupid fun. Like I would lose my mind over a neighborhood full of comically oversized items with buildings made out of, like, tea tins and animal cracker boxes. A real A Bug's Life vibe. I know it isn't feasible because you'd get random human townies walking through breaking the immersion, but God, can you imagine the build/buy catalogue? Chairs made of thread spools, toadstool tables, acorn cap bowls. It would be so. Cute.

I would kill for an Amy Brown-esque CAS catalogue.

And of course I'd bring back auras, powers, and tricks from Sims 3.

Honestly, for mermaids, aside from getting a proper perk tree, I'd really just like to have more style options for them other than tropical. Of all the mermaid aesthetics tropical is my least favorite.

If I could personally redesign mermaids I'd give them their own dedicated pack, with a pirate/mermaid lagoon world in the style of David Delamare. (* Nudity warning.) Just a dreamy, fantasy-heavy coastal world. If part of it could be underwater with buildable underwater lots for mermaids that would be aces. (Again, not feasible, I'm sure, but like...it would just be so neat.)

Build/Buy and CAS would be golden-age-of-pirates era nautical mixed with Little Mermaid-style aquatic pieces; shipwreck furniture, giant clam shell beds, gold and pearl accents. Puffy shirts and some cool flowy, glittery mermaid clothes.

Also, I want leg scales back. (Some gills and finger webbing would be fabulous, too.) Occults are most fun when they look visibly occult, damn it.

📨 Random simblr question (for the ts3 simmers) of the day: Who's your favorite premade sim?

i was tempted to say thornton wolff or beau merrick since i always use them as baby daddies for my lady sims (they make some absolutely beautiful babies after i give them a makeover), but i think it might actually be ms. agnes crumplebottom.

i have a personal headcanon that she's on the ace spectrum, which i relate to. her traits in ts3 are traits i see in myself. i relate to her the most, so i think that qualifies her to be my favorite.

Macey really liked seeing her brothers again🤗🤣they were as funny as ever. Ace and Chase played together. Chase may be Ace's uncle but they were close enough in age to play like cousins. Ace also spent some quality time with his grandparents 😁. The family liked Quintis well enough and could see that he was a very good match for Macey.❤️

The next day was another successful one! A+ for Chase at school, while Mason reached the top of the custom TS3 business career I added to my game.🎉🎊

Hi Marta! First, I wanted to thank you for all your amazing conversions! The game wouldn't be the same without you! TS3 is missing some great architectural elements to make the buildings as amazing as in TS4. We barely have any nice classical looking doors, for example. If you ever have the time, could you kindly consider converting the AC Unity set by AnnaQuinnStories? Particularly the doors, windows and pediments? Appreciate all work you do and I look forward to seeing all of your future work!
