Thoughts on Nagito x Mukuro?

(It's my favorite danganronpa ship)

My first thought was “The Makoto Naegi Fanclub President and Vice-President” lol. Who’s who that’s up to you. But god YEAH there’s so many ways these two’s path can EASILY intersect! Mukuro comparing the SHSL luckies—Junko’s despair plans drawing the two together—Nagito lavishing her with so many compliments when he sees her in action—Mukuro not knowing how to react to so much praise—Someone else who understands those conflicting feelings of hate and love towards Junko. Gosh you can really take a story with these two in any direction honestly.

Plus Nagito canonically seems to have some interests in things pertaining to her—Mukuro’s knife is among the three things he LOVES to receive as a gift (yes you can argue it’s because it has Hope’s Peak symbol on it but I like to believe that he also has a general interest in the Despair sisters considering he also loves Ryouko’s notebook too). And, although I don’t put much validity in the Danganronpa 3 anime, it IS interesting to see that Mukuro appears in his “perfect world” OVA where he knows about her crush on Makoto indicating that he clearly pays more attention to her than what’s let on.

In all 10/10 would ship again 👏❤ Imma leave you with a lil doodle because there’s not enough content of these two and also it was the second thing I thought of when I read your question:

#10. What's an au you have for them?

Since them meeting at all is technically an AU i have 3 different ways that they do meet up. There's the one where Juniper ends up with the agency/adjacent to and ends up working with Reggie (have written a fic with this). The next one is Juniper surviving but basically going stealth and living as normal of a life as he can and ending up meeting Reggie through chance (most recent fic I've written). And then there's my personal favourite where Reginald "You're lucky my tracking skills are still up to snuff" Crane keeping himself busy after Phoenix was MIA and finding Juniper still alive (fic I want to write but haven't started mainly because it may end up multi chapter).

In terms of more AU canon bending taking them and putting them in a completely unrelated situation...I have a guilty pleasure Warrior Cats AU for IEYTD in general. Both JJ and Reggie have perfect warrior cats suffixes in their names already (Juniper and Crane) so they're called Junipersong (charcoal bengal) and Craneflight (tabby Norwegian forest cat). It's very silly but the amount of scenes I have in my mind for it...good lord...

since i started testosterone in february i have been reading a stanza of andrew marvell’s poem ‘the garden’ every month to track the way my voice has changed. today i finished it :-)
