Headcanon - Henry Stickmin got into the mess with the timelines in his game because of a time piece falling on his head. He's technically in a time rift going through the motions until Hat Kid fixes the rift, made all the worse by the fact he already had minor rewind powers that the time piece was able to amplify.

#yeah I was thinking about how I wanted to start the timeline shenanigans of Henry Stickmin and was just playing a Hat in Time #so I yeeted a time piece at Henry's head full force and cackled evilly as he lay there dazed and concussed #the full story is Hat has to find him somewhere in the time rift to fully close it and collect the last shard for fixing the time piece #crow brain Henry took a shard and still has it on him- she may need to fight him to get it back #I would pay to see that fight honestly someone make that fight happen. So I noticed something very interesting about Snatcher's model.

SPOILERS:

They changed Snatcher's model at the end cutscene + the DLC, his neck... fur???? Stuff??? Is a lot more smoothed downwards. Upon checking the cutscenes, the model changeover seemed to happen after the fight with mustache girl, cuz he had his "old" model there. But in the end cutscene + the vanessa's curse dlc? He's a smooth boy.

Conclusion? He is domesticated.

Hattie had been living on this planet for quite a while now.

Now, the people here weren’t as receptive as other planets to the concept of aliens. She was lucky she looked human, this planet was quite a nice place to live and it would have been a shame to have to move on. In order to live here though, she had to get a job.

Hattie had never had a job before. Or at least, not a proper one. An unpaid actress for some birds and an errand girl for some ghost in the woods didn’t count. Despite travelling in space and seeing so many sights, she came to realize the skills she had developed over the years weren’t very conducive to jobs here.

An astronomer? No, that needs a degree she doesn’t have.

A writer? No, she would need to write in the local language and she always wrote so much faster in her native.

She leaned back, searching her mind for what she could feasibly do for a living. Eventually, a small key chain on her bag caught her eye. A mini replica of her timepieces, glittery in the lamplight. She had always had quite the relationship with time, handling her timepieces from a very young age. They rubbed off on her quickly, childhood temper tantrums messing with every clock in her vicinity, seconds speeding up and slowing down with her mood, moments of pure joy stopping time completely. And it was with this she found the job she was looking for.

A clock-maker.

Close enough to the flow of time she had become so acquainted with, easy enough barrier to entry that she should have a job in no time, and a line of work that just seemed fulfilling.

She got an apprenticeship with a kind old man named Tim, she settled down in a small apartment, and got to work. She spent her days at the shop, learning different mechanisms and steady handwork. Time (quite possibly literally), flew by. Eventually, she said her farewells to Tim and moved on to go start her own shop in a neighbouring town. Her shop was small, and unassuming. She loved it. Hanging her wares on the wall, she begun her true masquerade of human life.

No one noticed the way her eyes were just a bit too vibrant.

No one mentioned the sharp teeth in her smile.

And no one noticed how the clocks all set to various times of day chimed all at once.

hey uh just a warning this was written at like 4am in the morning one night when I didn't sleep and I no longer really stand by this I do still belive souls are like caffeine but it's more in line with the sugar on steriods description I used rather than the really strong stuff think the amount used in sodas like cola or like a latte rather than black coffee there's no addiction factor and a better comparison would be that souls are like Mario power ups more than caffeine they provide a temporary boost but are ultimately beneficial to those who use them

Once Again this was written really late at night when I had no sleep so it's very scuffed and I phrase things VERY wrong and overall it's just bad and I'm embarrassed I posted this from now on character analysis/headcanon posts will only be done if I'm in the correct state of mind so let me say this

No Snatcher is not addicted to souls they are just really tasty and beneficial magic sources that can heighten someones emotional state and have a naturally alluring aura to freshly dead spirits. Who need a bit of a magic boost

The souls did not effect his mental state that severely he just lost his mind as the years went by and started excusing the murder by thinking "oh its their fault they came here they were practically asking for death"

And once again these are my HEADCANONS everyone has their own and I'd love to hear them if anyone wants to share them!

Just please be aware by going past the read more your find a very wrong scuffed up post that I really dislike now due to the confusing phrasing and comparisons

So I've been thinking about how Snatcher got into the habit of eating souls and I've come to the conclusion that for a weak scared spirit souls are not only tempting but also addicting think about these lines during one of the Snatcher streams and while not Canon they're a pretty good source to base headcanons on

Souls are described as similar to caffeine which can be addicting in the sense that they offer a physical boost for a short while to whoever consumes it caffeine is notorious for helping people pull all nighters and giving a sudden surge of hyperactivity it's like sugar on steroids however there is the aforementioned "crash" which apparently souls lack there's also supposedly a lot more benefits with souls

It isn't really elaborated on other than stuff that wouldn't apply to a ghost (extending one's lifetime) so let's move on

I like to think that instead of a "crash" the effects of the soul slowly fade out making the mental high of consuming them even more alluring due to the fact the fade time can be extended by consuming more than one which leads into the addiction factor if it's hard to understand trough text I drew some doodles to help explain

That crazed state is the ideal for Snatcher no empathy no emotions just constant euphoria and manic behavior to scare away intruders I personally believe that Prince started consuming souls to distract from all the grief and got himself addicted to them and the mental high they provided slowly becoming more accustomed to the erratic effects on his behavior and adapting them into scarring away intruders

Anyways this is just a funky character study/headcanon post soon feel free to write your own opinions and headcanons on why Snatcher consumes souls

Well since I'm committing to this, I'm making my sona more of a oc and have to flesh out their backstory. Here are some rough designs from Summer's magic college days before they met Pavo. Tremella was Summer's roommate. She's only in magic college because of her family's potion shop. Tremella also minoring in education

Dean Lula has run the college for centuries to help magic students become professional spell casters. As technology has advanced though the college is just there to help magic users control their powers or get the licenses they need. Despite stating this multiple times it did not Summer applying for college.

I honestly think that snatcher dosen't hate the prince, actually, he LOVES him, like, that's HIM. He still sees himself as the prince, just reborn. Y'know?

Like, he doesn't hate the prince for dying or for accidentally angering vanessa, both didn't know better and still don't understand her, so why should he blame the prince? (Not like he blames Vanessa, the guy is still down for her.)

it's like, he sees himself as the new prince. he's still the prince of subcon, just the new one. He's reborn. New new. New life, new things. And he is LOVING IT.

He surely won't like acting like his past self (reasons why I think he would act like usual despite being in the past as the prince), because that's not who he is anymore, he's not the nice prince, he's the evil prince, the one who eats SOULS and KILLS for the fun of it, he's the NEW PRINCE, also known as snatcher.

Back in this fandom for the fourth time, will be giving headcanons.

> The snatcher wasn't always evil, he was once a very sweet guy. And i don't mean the prince, even as a ghost, he was once a very sweet guy! It's after eating souls and actually participating in the "monster" role that he found out he had a particular liking to bring suffering to others.

> Deep down, he still loves vanessa. The sweet, caring and beautiful Vanessa that somehow got replaced by that possessive monster roams around the manor now. He just can't look at the current one and say "yeah, that's my girlfriend" no, it's not. It's vanessa. Not his princess. That's the queen.

He's hurt by her, very hurt. But he wants to be his prince again, well, he wants to be his princess's prince again.

> the snatcher is chaotic neutral. He's that type of guy who never actually goes a certain direction, he only does whatever HE wants and whatever will grant him the advantage. He's here for the DRAMA. but he doesn't wanna be involved in it. He wants to watch it.

He can be both good and bad, as long as he gets entertainment in return.

> the snatcher is aware that he's in a game, hat kid isn't. Whenever he talks about "icons" or regular stuff that appears in games (example: "all of the minions who are awaiting mail, will have an icon above them, once you're done, come back here, and "clock out", get it?") hat kid is always left confused, but always knows what to do for some reason.

the snatcher also knows about memes. He knows about Twitter and everything, and will joke about it, despite hat kid not getting it.

> both Vanessa and the prince had powers. Ice and fire. Both had to keep their cool to keep it under control, which wasn't too hard, but even a snap could lead to at least one room frozen. Or worse.

Vanessa usually had her feet frozen and ice spreading slowly the more she got angry, but the prince? (aside from hardly ever showing anger, he was the literal definition of joy.) He would get on fire like hades does in the Disney movie.

It never hurt the two royalties, the ice never gave Vanessa any sides effects or the fire ever hurt the prince, but if it got out of hand, it could corrupt them.

> Somehow only royalty (by blood) could reach power such as magic (ice, fire and all), so they had several lessons to keep it under control. It's a little special thing that only these specific people had, no one else did.

> The prince had the habit, and still does, to brush aggressively his hair with his hands until he would accidentally rip his own hair whenever he was stressed or upset. Bad habit.

> Vanessa instead always touched her hands a lot and fidgeted, or paced whenever she was alone.

> the snatcher always had that booming laugh of his.

> The snatcher can sing. (Reference to his VA)

> the snatcher is Italian, Vanessa is German. Subcon is somewhere in Europe, specifically in Germany (the prince comes from a kingdom in Italy, but he started living in Germany with Vanessa in subcon)

The conductor is Scottish.

Mustache girl is British (meaning the land mafia town, is in England, but the mafia is not British.yet. I gotta decide.)

P.S. technically speaking, all the characters are from different places, so they don't really speak the same language or English (aka: the prince and Vanessa technically would speak German (and Italian, for the prince)) aside from who is from England, Canada, the united states ect. But for the sake of everyone (to understand what they are saying) the game is in English and everything will be said in English.

plus everyone at least KNOWS some English, to communicate with everyone around the world, so everyone (when they figured out that hat kid didn't understood them) kinda spoke English to hat kid. Helped a little because everyone spoke the same thing, but as an alien she had to force herself to understand.

> the snatcher has always greeted people with a "why hello there!", Rather loud too, but in a cheerful manner, rather than the current one.

> the snatcher didn't have a big scary change or transformation, he just can shapeshift, and thought the form he uses in the game is scary (it's not. It's rather cute in my opinion.)

> The prince has the little habit of always standing and stare at Vanessa from behind whenever she would brush her teeth or hair before bed, and always gave her a little scare by just letting her realize that there's someone behind her by looking at the mirror. He enjoyed doing this a lot and always gave a few small chuckles without waking up the entire subcon with his loud laughter.

And as much of a scare Vanessa would get, she would laugh along.
