“man, we saw so many binky light sticks at the music show,” hanni said, sighing happily. “we really enjoyed seeing you guys there, and i hope you guys managed to get some of the gifts we gave out!”

“oh, someone asked, ‘what gifts?’.” danielle said, pointing at the comment on her phone and showing yn and haerin, who were sitting beside her. “yn-ssi, why don’t you tell us about the gifts hanni-nim was talking about?”

amused, you decided to play along, even going so far as to grab your water bottle and place it under your mouth as if it were a mic.

“well, danielle-nim, the gifts hanni-nim was talking about are distributed at a certain location near the venue of our music shows.” you say, picking up your phone. “and if you follow our twitter, newjeans-underscore-ador, you will get tweets on where these locations are, like this one.”

you raise your phone to the camera, showing off the tweet that had been posted that morning.

“…what kind of broadcast is this?” hyein asked from behind the two of you, staring judgementally at you and danielle.

you both laugh, startling haerin which made the two of you laugh harder. behind you, minji was spaced out, a undiscernible look in her eyes. hanni sighed, placing a hand on her shoulder with a sympathetic look on her face.

“moving on,” you say, pulling your phone back as your laughter gradually turned into giggles. “hanni-unnie is right. seeing all your binky light sticks really made my day!”

“‘they looked like hearts’.” haerin read out loud before nodding her agreement. “they did look like hearts – tiny, colorful, glowing hearts.”

“hearts…” you repeat, mindlessly raising your hand and creating half of a heart with it. instead of completing the heart with her own hand as she normally did, though, all minji did was stare at it blankly.

fortunately, haerin noticed your hand awkwardly hanging in the air and shifted towards you subtly, looking at the camera as she moved her hand to yours to complete the heart.

you smile at her thankfully, though it's obvious that you were a little upset by minji’s actions, or rather, a lack thereof.

Prompt 18. “So this is how we live now?” + Eleanor

A/N: This was requested by our lovely Shark (@call-sign-shark) but my DUMB ASS, didn't know we couldn't edit an ask once we clicked to answer (and that's new, pretty sure we could before 🤨) so now I'm posting here. Also, I think this is... what? The second time I wrote something happy for Tommy x Ellie EVER, don't get used to it hehe

“No, Tommy! You're gonna hurt your back!” Eleanor laughed when he picked her up, letting out a dramatic sound as if he was carrying something really heavy.

Water tricked down both their bodies as they made the way from the bathtub to the bedroom. Usually, he would have dropped her on the bed with playful roughness, however, her four-month pregnancy made him gently lay her down.

“You’re changing the sheets later, I'm not sleeping in a wet bed,” she giggled, lifting her chin to give him access to her neck.

“We can go to a guest room,” he answered between kisses, “or ask a maid to change it,”

“So this is how we live now?” she joked, “we make a mess then tell the maids to fix it?”

“Hm-hmm,” he agreed, “you're not doing any chores while carrying my child,”

Feeling Tommy's hands lovingly caressing her sides, she closed her eyes and allowed the happiest, most sincere smile to show on her face. Having just moved to a mansion in Warwickshire’s countryside, with the business going well and another baby on the way, Eleanor couldn't ask for anything else. For once, everything was perfect.

“If it's a boy I'm gonna call him Thomas,” she dreamingly sighed.

“It'll be a girl,” he argued, firmly believing Polly's prevision.

“Yeah, but if it's a boy it'll be Thomas,” she pulled his face up to her level, not allowing his affections to go lower her belly, “Thomas Shelby Junior,”

“No,” he pecked her lips, “Middle name at most,”

“Oh, c'mon! A little Tommy! Wouldn't you be glad to know a Tommy shorter than you?” she joked and bit her lip, waiting for his answer.

“Don't start with it,” he whispered, placing a finger on her lips, “you're not taller than me,”

“But little Tommy would be,” she mumbled.

“There won't be a little Tommy, it's a girl,” he tried to finish the talk by wrapping her legs around him and kissing her again.

“I want to keep trying,” she mumbled against his lips.

“What?”

“I want to keep trying until we have a boy,” she whispered.

“Well,” Tommy's eyes switched between her eyes and mouth, “I won't oppose that.”

— This woman? I don't know how to explain it to you. Let's just say she's a bit strange. She's the only one who likes to annoy you all the time. Until you get so angry you almost explode. But your friends come to help you get rid of your anger every time.

— and she once won a gold medal in sports. Which sometimes makes you jealous.

— You never talked to her. Even your voice never answered her. She will ask you to speak to her. But you did the opposite of what she asked.

Tbh I mainly thought about Valkyrie bc ValkyrieP and all but. I think they'll retire from the idol industry when they hit, like, idk, 30 or so. The idol industry prefers "the youth" and all. But I think they'd do it of their own will, too, when they reach a peak, they'd decide, this is it, this was Valkyrie. We had fun, we grew together, we made friends and enemies, we created art, but now it's time to close this chapter and move on. And I think by this time, they'll both have matured (tbh I blame a lot of the "oh he's fucked up" moments in enstars on the fact that the cast is. Literally made up of late teenagers, high schoolers are just like that), and Shu'd get his anger issues and perfectionism (mostly, he's still Shu, and the perfectionism stays for his art) under control, and Mika learns to be truly independent and he doesn't pedestal Shu as much as in his youth, but they never stop thinking of eachother as friends, comrades... anyway.

I think Shu probably grows a little taller, not by much, I don't think he'd change much in appearance because he'd still seek youthful beauty. He graduates, he starts creating art - paintings and sculptures alike - hosts exhibitions, is actually rather successful (the fact that he was already known as Shu of Valkyrie helped definitely, but he's also Really Good, I think his motifs would often be some sort of reflection of his trauma, of his mental state from Yumenosaki as he remembers it, maybe even some paintings with titles like, "From Mademoiselle's eyes" or how she saw the world in contrast to him ...). Mademoiselle speaks a lot less, too, but he still considers her a dear friend and part of his family, and like. You know, she's there when his stress flares up, whenever the trauma swims back up or he's feeling overwhelmed, or just lonely, I think.

Mika deserves to have a growth spurt because the Gap between him being a clumsy lil guy while at the same time being, like, 185 and relatively built would fit him well. But he's still more lean than muscly, because he continues dancing :') After some time of that, as the conversation turned this morning, I did add him organising workshops and dance lessons for the kids from poorer neighbourhoods and in orphanages, because I think he'd definitely be the type who'd want to "give back" to his community, even if it means just giving them a fun way to keep physically active. Volunteers a lot, too.

Idk the idea came to me when I was joking around with my friend, talking, "They go their separate ways when Valkyrie disbands, but then Ibara sets up a reunion party for CosPro, and Shu gets a heart attack when he sees how stacked Mika's become since the last time he saw him," but even that. They'd video call :) They're still friends, I think their bond has become such that it's unlikely to break easily. They have rough patches and fight, but it's like. The fact that they can fight and argue now instead of Shu just telling Mika what to do, is part of why I think they've got potential to be lifelong friends. When they mature a bit more HDBDBDHDJD

1: What drew your character to their LI and vice versa?

The way he was there for her all the time, even during times where she felt she was being too bitchy. He was there. At first she was kinda 🤨 b/c she wasn't used to it and found it a little weird. It wasn't until it finally connected that someone (that wasn't her brother) was actually looking out for her.

As for Simon, he was drawn to her bluntness/truthfulness. He liked that she said what was on her mind, even if it got her in trouble with the Captain. But for some reason, deep down he needed to look after her and it wasn't b/c she was reckless. He wanted to protect her.

2: What was the first moment that they knew they were in love with their LI?

When they were betrayed by Shepherd. That whole incident made something in him snap. He knew he liked her (and vice versa), but knowing they could've all died that day without him telling her made him a little afraid. Not only that, but seeing her being engulfed in flames right in front of him was also very heart wrenching. If he wasn't quick on his feet her injuries could've been a lot worse.

Liz knew she loved him, she just never admitted it to herself. It wasn't until Simon confessed his feelings to her when they were in the infirmary that she finally accepted her own feelings. He saved her more times than she could count, how could she not love him?

25: Share any headcanons about their relationship.

They share the house chores 50/50 with the exception of a few things like work, childbirth, illness, etc than the other will take up that portion as well. Though Simon will do a little more around the house because he's taller and she can't reach that high. Tbh they're 50/50 with like everything in their relationship.

29: What are your favorite moments that happen between them?

Too many to mention 😩. The one that really shines out is when Simon punches Liz's dad in the face 😆. It was after the 141 became fugitives (tho Liz, Simon and Roach were declared KIA) and Liz was telling him about her childhood. But it wasn't until Logan mentioned to them that Elias didn't care that she was KIA that really sent him over the edge. So he punched him when he saw him again.

I thought it was really interesting how you mentioned that iced lavender lattes are the only overlap you and Doc have as she’s not very you-coded! Which made me wonder out of all the characters you’ve written, which one feels the most you / you relate to their character & thought processes the most?

I’ve been getting clowned by my friends when I try to explain Lavender to them because Doc and I are lowkey the same person 😂😂 especially in your character description of the OCs hahaha

This is such an interesting question!

Firstly, I LOVE that you see yourself in Doc. I adore her and I think her and Joel are perfect for each other. Her gentle and caring nature makes her one of my favorite characters, I love her so much.

To answer your question, I both thought about it myself and also shopped out some of the answer lol

The character of mine I see myself most in is the one I’ve posted least about on this site but I’ve spent the most time with - Tenny from my book series. She’s way cooler and hotter and more badass than me but a lot of who she is at her core overlaps with me. Not totally, she’s far from a self insert, but she’s the one who shares the most with me.

All of my FMCs have SOME stuff that comes from me? I feel like Doc’s intense need to be loved and her willingness to put up with A LOT to feel like she matters to someone comes from me. But Doc is a lot softer and kinder than me and a lot more emotionally vulnerable. She’s also very skilled in ways that I could never be!

I’ve got Doll’s independent streak and a lot of her snark. I’m not nearly as strong as she is or as capable, though. I do have a lot of her protective qualities, too. I tried to beat up a boy who was 5 inches taller than me in high school because he talked one of my best friends into losing her virginity to him and then dumped her the next morning. (Got very mad when he wouldn’t hit me back btw)

I say all this fully aware that I don’t see myself very well? So I also asked my TLOU bestie who is the only person on the planet who has read Ace, Lavender and Beskar Doll (God bless him) and my husband, who is currently reading Beskar Doll.

Bestie said that Tenny, from my book series, is the most like me largely because of her general “I’m handling this myself” attitude. He also says I’m a bit bratty like Doll but not to her extent and that Doc is too much of a pacifist to really align with me (direct quote: If someone threatened one of your baby chicks... Doc would hesitate and mull over her hypocratic oath, and when she snaps out of her thoughts she’d see you’d already taken action and fucking tackled the perpetrator.)

The husband says he thinks Doll is somewhat like me but more who I wish I was than who I really am (not sure I agree with this, mostly on the “who I wish I was” point.) But he thinks the independence and her deep dedication to her friends is a lot like me, as is her perfectionist streak. He also says her desire to be a part of something while feeling outside of it is like me. Bonus, I love kids and am great with kids (“yeah doll with Grogu? Exactly like you.”)

As for Bambi? Basically not like me at ALL. She’s way scrappier than me, way tougher, way more of a loner. Her drive to live is also insane, I’d never do what she does to survive, I just would have no desire to. I think the only overlap with her is, if someone tells Bambi she can’t or shouldn’t do something she’s going to do it even harder on principle. She’s been fascinating to write because her headspace is so different from mine!

I had a few, but recently only yours come to mind! You went into so many details, and paid so much attention, it got me writing proudly like Nene with her diary.

I worked on the chapter as if I was speedrunning the day I got it, even finished that week! And i still re-read it when I need motivation. I'm determined to make the next chapter long!

9. tbh… i’m becoming a rita stan (i said, not even having the faintest idea of what she looks like because i can’t imagine people for the life of me) wait actually. you should draw her /nf… if you don’t do it first then i’ll just have to draw her myself ig

- filipino in my heart. i know a jejemon when i see one

- his 13 year old design is his appearance in picos school. you cant see it in the scan but i hc his hair to be a sort of dark brown at 13 and a shitty dye job at 19

- for his 19 year old design i kept most things the same just gave him fingerless gloves and made it so his pants are falling off

- inside joke but i like to think his full government name is boyfriend jones (BJ for short). dot xml is cute too though :3

- ngl i havent figured out his adult design yet so this is just him at 13

- alot of people draw him with a chip tooth but i always interpreted it as a bucktooth (🤓) . you can see it in abunch of mindchamber's art!

- curly hair + freckles haver #to me . i hc that his freckles sort of dissapear when he gets older though

- taller than bf + nene, shorter than darnell

- i sfill think he keeps that sort of boyishness from when he was a kid but now its kind of in a loserlike way. hes reckless and destructive but also a doofus goober (ermm..hes right behind me isnt he 🤨). he can lock in when he needs to but he's unfortunately kind of a bum (probably what brought him and bf together in the first place, albeit to a much lesser degree than bf) . what elsee. i like to think that he likes to show off. he thinks hes soo cool and unfortunately he kind of is sometimes. also while theyre all homicidal maniacs hes still comparatively normal compared to how freakish the other 2 can be

- has a chiptooth, which kind of turns into her fucked up shark teeth when shes 19. her fucked up teeth in pico vs uberkids was like. comically racist but im asian and i thought itd be cute :3 i think that shes a biter

- lots of stray hairs which is pushed back by headband as a kid. hair a lot messier + spikier as adult

- turtleneck as a kid hides her noose scars while sleeves cover sh scars, this is replaced by a long-sleeved blouse and a heart-shaped choker as an adult

- shortest out of the group, just barely below bf's height (gf >/= darnell > pico > bf > nene)

- she likes to fuck around with pico like a stress toy and finds him fascinating (king magnum/danny smokes situation) but she doesnt take any of his shit and is the most intolerant of his incompetence . both his friends are freaks but pico has to be twice as careful around her 😭 she likes darnell though bc he lets her get away with anything and is more cunning :3
