Dabi, they learn quickly, is just as mouthy in bed as he is out of it. He had the pleasure of learning that first, before their hero came along and got all tangled up in them. Enjoys getting the arsonist all worked up and enjoys hearing him babbling and begging when he gets close to the edge, enjoys how he can't stop himself from goading at him because that means he gets to punish him too. But Dabi doesn't just run his mouth. Loves to go down on them, nearly melts whenever he gets to, and is perfectly happy to stay on his knees until his staples bleed or the seam through his bottom lip re-splits. Not complaining about that either, his mouth is wicked and so hot with his quirk that it puts he and Hawks a little out of their minds. But he also can't keep his teeth away from their skin when they're fucking. Has to have something in his mouth or he'll find it himself. Bites bruises over their skin wherever he can reach. Would call him a vampire but he never breaks skin, just leaves marks all over them in his feral desperation when there's skin close enough to bite and suck at. Really wouldn't be complaining about that except--

"I had a photoshoot!" Hawks, flushed bright red and gesturing wildly. Dabi is lounging across the bed, looking amused. Amused himself as he reads the article that Hawks had pulled up on his phone. The actual photos from the shoot had been doctored but apparently someone had gone and leaked the unedited ones and the behind the scenes ones from the makeup artist who had tried to cover the myriad of bruises that Dabi had littered Hawks' chest and neck with. Tomura would bet the PLF that he has more on his thighs too. Can't say that the pictures of Hawks with his wings wide, shirtless, and eyes half-lidded and goading for the, he checks, fragrance ad, yeah that tracks, isn't appealing. More appealing with Dabi's marks on his skin. But the photos are causing an actual scandal. Everyone wants to know who the hero is sleeping with and while he would love to further shatter the public's perception of heroes by tearing the number two away from them, Hawks is much more useful where he's at.

"You weren't complaining at the time." Dabi sounds as amused as he feels.

Hawks chirps at him indignantly. "That's not the point! What is wrong with you? You're like a feral cat!"

"It is a lot at times, firefly," he remarks lightly. Doesn't really mind the marks himself. Though having the bruises peeking out from the collar of his suits and coats is definitely a little undignified.

Dabi looks a little betrayed but he keeps his gaze even on the pyro. "Fine, if you don't like it I'll stop."

Petty. Always petty. All three of them can be really but he doubts that Dabi will last for long after that declaration. Enjoys leaving his marks far too much to hold out.

That was a month ago. Knew that their firefly was determined and knew that he could be stubborn if he wanted, but this is not a level that he expected. Is still more than happy to go to bed with either of them, still mouthy, still loves being on his knees. Absolutely will not bite at them anymore. Won't even nip at their lips when they're kissing which is starting to annoy him and is absolutely driving Hawks crazy.

Fine. Could order Dabi outright but there's not much fun in that. Instead starts to corner Hawks alone, works up their little bird and sucks his own bruises onto Hawks' skin. The hero doesn't complain, clearly desperate for Dabi's teeth again, and is more than happy to settle for his even though he's usually much more gentle with the hero in bed. Leaves a pretty ring of teeth on each of Hawks' thighs and just under his jaw. The places that Dabi normally loves to mark. Only a day or two before they're all back in bed together and Dabi sees them. Watches as his jaw clenches and he just peppers their pretty bird's skin with light kisses as the three of them start to build their pleasure together. Has Dabi on his back, legs spread wide so he can sink inside of his tight, overwhelming heat, as Hawks rides him, his chest to Hawks' back, wings spread wide and shivering as they match their pace. Smoke trickles out of Dabi's seams as they work him over together. One hand fisted lazily around Hawks' cock as he pets through his fluffy feathers. A slow fuck today, no urgency between their bodies as they move together. Shifts, nosing along the side of Hawks' neck and the hero coos softly, tilting to give him more room.

"Such pretty skin," he murmurs. Presses soft kisses along it, "Want another bruise, little bird? Another lovely mark to show the whole world who you belong to?" Meets Dabi's eyes over his shoulder and delights in how incensed Dabi's are. Hawks trills, grinding down a little harder on Dabi's cock, feels him tighten as their hero does it.

"Please," chirpy and thin, wings fluttering slightly, watching Dabi too.

"You two are the fucking worst." He bitches. Tomura thrusts in a little harder, hits his prostate roughly enough that he's arching, moaning with more smoke spilling from his seams as his hands tighten on Hawks' hips.

"Don't be jealous, firefly, not like anyone knew they were your marks in the first place." Shifts and starts to nip along the unmarred part of Hawks' neck. Little bites that only turn the skin pink and make Hawks let out soft breathy coos alongside his other sounds.

"Ah, please, Tomura, harder," Can see the smugness on their bird's expression out of the corner of his eye as they keep working Dabi over. Dabi intentionally creeps his temperature even higher, hot enough that it's just barely riding the edge of discomfort as he keeps moving inside of him. He retaliates by slowing, moving more shallowly, by shifting to the place where Hawks' neck and shoulder meet and sinking his teeth in. Doesn't break skin but the bite is hard enough that it has his wings flaring and going rigid against his chest, and Hawks letting out a loud desperate chirp. Must go tighter because Dabi certainly is, thrusting up sharply into his body. Gritting his teeth because he clearly wants to mark them up again, but his stubbornness is at war with his desire.

"Gorgeous, little bird. Another?'

Nods frantically and he shifts, moves his mouth back to the side of his neck, high enough that his collar won't cover it when he's in uniform, already put a bruise here on the other side, Dabi's favorite spot to--

He snarls, moving, the change in angle makes them all groan, but soon Dabi's sitting up enough, easy enough for him to help move his lovers and support their weight at the new angle, and Dabi sinks his teeth so hard into Hawks' throat that he does break skin. Hawks nearly screams, one hand moving furiously over his cock and the other curling tightly around the back of Dabi's neck as he keeps him in place, his thrusts and coos taking on a much more desperate tone. Has them all moving faster, thrusting harder. Drags his fingers along Hawks' spine, roughly through his feathers, earning him the sharp short chirps that he knows means he's close, close, close.

Doesn't know if it's Dabi or Hawks who cums first. Just knows that their little bird goes rigid with a loud coo and Dabi goes so hot and tight around him that he must have as well. Follows them almost immediately after, his own pleasure an intoxicating pull. Not protesting when Dabi finishes leaving a livid, bleeding bruise against Hawks' neck and shifts to capture his lips. Immediately sinks his teeth into his skin as well. Tastes blood on their tongues and doesn't stop, kisses him harder, until they're both breathless.

"If either of you ever complain about my teeth again I'm going to light you on fire," Dabi hisses against his lips, shifting to kiss and nip at Hawks' as well.

"There is something called moderation, firefly." He says mildly. But he doesn't really care. If any of them were built for moderation then they wouldn't have ended up here in the first place. Besides, he understands the compulsion to a degree. Keeps finding himself looking at red and blue collars online. Wonders if they would mind having his own mark of ownership around their necks.

YEAH so in my fic fifth years are 16, and by the time things get....explicit....clora and seb are 17. im not against consuming media with teenagers depicted in sexual situations like euphoria or riverdale or w.e else bc i get that its fiction and these are just real things that happen so its fine to write about them, but their canonical ages of 15 was still too young for me and i wanted them to be 17 before it got the E rating (which is why clora and sebs birthdays end up being so close, bc i was RUSHING for them to turn 17 BAHAHHAA)

like not to get super real, but the portrayal of the trio's relationship is something ive agonized over for a long time, because keeping my audience is important to me. it does matter to me at the end of the day... but do i really want to cater to people who dont want to read the story i want to tell? no! and with drdi especially, i lose readers as it gets longer and THAT IS NOT A BAD THING!! it means i have this like... beautiful, dedicated, wonderful audience who wants to read this horribly (/affectionate) long piece of writing and who is more than likely happy to read it how i want to write it! so if im losing readers ultimately anyway, why the heck wouldnt i write it how i want?

drdi was started at the beginning of my realization of my aroace identity, and i really did have this like... specific view of a QPR at the time and thought that was all i was allowed because i didnt experience romantic/sexual attraction. but as time has gone on, ive been able to be in qprs and learn that no! theres nothing specific! you can kiss and date and have sex or you can do none of those or some of those and being aroace is such a broad thing! and by having multiple characters under that label i can write that !! and by god beeduo can kiss and still be aroace!!

ANYWAY sorry to go on two tangents, but im glad youve enjoyed the recent chapters, and dont worry, things will only continue in this direction!! and im happy you enjoyed the tubbo marriage moment because i nearly cut it for being out of place but then went "wait but i like it!"

Sorry about Tumblr being a buggy mess and crashing halfway through! I’ve experienced the frustration of losing writing due to crashes and it always sucks. But thank you for continuing to answer these questions and satiate my curiosity! Learning more about Missing Numbers is like reading a book that just keeps getting better and better and better with every new chapter. Also: don’t worry about the delays or how long responding takes! You come first and foremost. Your health/work/school/whatever it is ya got going on in your personal life, is infinitely more important than me getting an answer to a question. So please, take your time, as much as you need—I will wait.

(Also, young Red being just as much of a little shit as Blue was is surprisingly wholesome and I love that. And after seeing their heights I realized I’m the same height as Blue! That detail is not important in the slightest, I just thought it was funny.)

Anywho, let’s get into the meat and potatoes, shall we?

First things first: Y’all mentioned biology mechanics and the nature of Glitches? 👀 Well, guess what? I love that kinda stuff! My curiosity is piqued—please explain.

Second question though: What is Leaf’s Duty? What does she do and how do her powers(?) work? Are her abilities like how the move Imprison was in Fallen Leaf?

And third: What’s the relationship/dynamic between Leaf and Red? That comic y’all posted has me wondering what Leaf is warning others about.

Red and Blue’s childhood friendship and rivalry has always been something we’ve wanted to come off as just plain silly and enjoyable- I’m glad we’ve been succeeding in that, hehe. And Blue was actually originally going to be shorter (our height, actually), we just added a few inches to be nicer to him lol

Per usual now, we’ll keep the big stuff under the cut! It’s another long one: Consider this Leaf Lore Part Two.

For the Glitch stuff, we’ve been thinking and might make a BIG formal post going over all of Professor Maple’s speculation and studies, to make it a good access point for the worldbuilding of Missing Numbers. I can’t promise it’ll come soon, but! As a starting point, I do have a pre-written thing with information on different classifications of Glitch that should clear up a good bit to start with.

Unless we get any sudden further realizations, every Glitch, Corruption, and Anomaly in Missing Numbers (and arguably in Pokemon as a whole) can fall under these five classifications.

Leaf’s duty is the main aspect of what we failed to touch on in your previous question. So, I’ll finish that part of the story. :)

To answer your questions, we first have to establish how she got her powers. When Leaf died, she did not get to rest peacefully. Most who die in this world don’t. The afterlife for the fallen and forgotten is not pretty. It is not merciful. There is no heaven for the ones who do not matter to God.

The Distortion exists in layers. At it’s lowest, the farthest from contact with the main reality, is a void of unused, scrapped, and null data. A graveyard, or worse yet, a dump where things that can no longer exist in the surface world go to rot. Unused data. Scrapped NPCs. Removed characters, Pokemon, items.

Assets of old games that never carried over.

Leaf's soul was discarded here when she was erased from existence at the end of Abandoned Loneliness. Left to rot with the unborn Ghosts that had haunted them both with the intent to drag someone of significance down with them. Hoping they too might escape. That they might receive mercy through her.

Unfortunately, Leaf was the unloved child. So instead she fell to their ranks, swallowed up by the abyss that was their resting place- thrust as far from reality, from her home, from her friends, from her purpose as feasibly possible. Still conscious. Still aware. Still suffering.

… Leaf was not one to accept things lying down. Leaf was a fighter. She hated injustice, unfairness. She wouldn’t stand for this. She wouldn’t lie down and give up. No matter how suffocating the darkness was. No matter how the bloodied hands tried to drag her further down. No matter how the chaos and corruption tried to break and dismantle her.

No. Matter. What.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. And if there was one thing that defined Leaf even more than her bleeding heart, it was that her will was unbreakable.

So she climbed. Climbing over the damned- the forgotten- the spiteful- the vengeful- everything trying to hurt her and pull her down. Focused solely on escaping, on going up. Until things began to become more tangible. Until she could see more than black and red. Until there was light, and color. Until data became form- albeit still broken, chaotic. Numbers. Misplaced bricks. Impossible plants. Incomprehensible collision.

Glitch City.

She broke through the floor of the second lowest layer of the Distortion, and though the surface’s light was still so far… She’d found solid footing.

And here, though it may have been quieter… She wasn’t so alone.

The City had the odd few inhabitants. But the first that she met was a strangely familiar boy, a teenager that reminded her of someone she knew, but wrong. With a cocky, lopsided grin, unruly black hair, and bright red eyes.

Someone who wanted out just as badly as she did.

Leaf and Red never knew each other outside of Glitch City. But during their time trapped there together as children, they were friends. Leaf wasn’t the first person Red befriended there…

But she was significant. They were allies with a shared goal, after all, and if one of them could find a way out, they could get out together! They worked in tandem to find hope, grasp at an escape. Everything they could, as a possibility. They were friends, after all. Right?

Right?

… Leaf didn’t wholly trust Red. It wasn’t personal, but there were things that were risky. She could see the instability of corruption plaguing him, and she wanted to ensure her loved ones’ safety more than she wanted to escape. The greater picture was something that she could wrap her head around, even if it was hard to grasp.

Red was not the same. Laser focused on his goal and uncaring of the consequences, it was a factor that, over time, divided them more and more as Leaf realized the severity of Red’s condition, and began to think…

Maybe he was here for a reason. … Still, she tried to turn a blind eye. Let herself hope things weren’t that bad.

The growing obviousness for his resentment towards Fire, though Red tried to hide it, didn’t help- her distrust towards him only grew, further clouded by her personal fears and dedication to protecting her loved ones.

And one day, while discussing a possible window for escape… She let a thought she’d been hiding slip. The final nail in the coffin.

Afraid for her brother’s life, and angry seeing how Red reveled in the idea of hurting him, she left him behind and didn’t look back.

From there, we aren’t sure of the exact details of how she escaped. But we know she had help on the surface- from someone a little too curious about the nature of the Anomalous, who was all too eager to free a willing entity. Professor Ace Maple (specializing in “anomalies”, and original to the Missing Numbers story!) helped free her soul.

Of course, releasing a long-buried corrupted entity wouldn’t go unnoticed by the higher power that had put her there. But… It saw how careful she was. How she was now completely wary of all glitches. How she’d come to understand the dangers they posed to the world and the people in it.

So, the Almighty came to her in a Golden light. Extending an offer to her.

YOU CANNOT BE PERMITTED TO EXIST IN THIS WORLD AS YOU ARE.

THERE IS A REASON YOUR KIND WERE BURIED.

THIS WORLD IS ENDANGERED EVERY TIME CORRUPTION ESCAPES.

… Of course she accepted the bargain. It was all beneficial in her eyes. Her complete freedom, and the ability to protect those she loved most in ways she never could have before. What happened in their childhood would never happen again now.

Thus, Leaf was blessed with her body yet again. Rightfully hers, and aged to grow with her. Though she’d never again be a Vessel, that was okay. She was something far greater now.

The chains could Imprison any code they touched, and they were completely under her control. With these, she could fight and restrain any anomalies necessary. She was also given the one-of-a-kind ability to freely move between the Main world, and the Distortion… To ensure that no activity occurred in either that could allow the escape of something catastrophic.

Of course, things weren’t perfect. The world and the people in it had changed since she’d been gone. It had been years. People would be different.

Blue, for one. It was hard to face him again. Tensions never stopped being high between them. They both remembered, after all.

She mostly just cared about her brother, now. It took her a bit to find him, idle at the top of Mount Silver.

It was heartbreaking to see the emptiness in his eyes. Him barely acknowledging her. The realization that he’d never… He’d never looked for her. Never tried to free her.

Never even mourned.

She still loved him. She always would. He was her family. He was the only one who’d been anything like her.

It was okay that he got everything she had. It was okay that he’d completely replaced her. It was okay that he now had everything she ever wanted. It was okay that he wasn’t the one who looked for, found, freed her, instead of a complete stranger. It was okay that when he spoke it was soulless and objective and only reminding her of her duties. it was okay. it was okay.

It was okay that he didn’t care.

It was okay that he was living the life she should’ve wanted DESERVED that he was destined to.

It was okay that she had to protect him. It was part of her duty, after all.

She wasn’t bitter. She wasn’t mad. She loved him.

… And then there was Red- “Glitchy,” as she now called him, unwilling to give him the name that belonged to her brother. He never did give up on her. He was PISSED, mind you, that somehow she had escaped and left him and the others stuck down there behind- but he still refused to back down.

They were enemies now, though. As he grew more restless- and more powerful, much to Leaf’s horror- his imprisonment became a direct responsibility of hers. And as Professor Maple grew more curious about glitches, unknowingly bringing him closer and closer to true freedom, even though she felt indebted to them, she had to resist their studies. Warn them of everything- especially him.

“I thought you hated injustice. Don’t you think this is unfair?”

Still, she had to face him often. And even in his madness, and even in chains, Red could speak so… Persuasively.

“If you could escape, why shouldn’t I? You have the ability to free me.”

“And I know you’re hiding me from the others. Don’t they deserve to know?”

“You knew as a KID that Blue was looking for me. Doesn’t HE deserve it?”

“I think you know this isn’t the right thing to do.”

“You’re making a mistake.”

“But it’s okay. I’m not mad. I can be patient.”

“I’m sure you’ll come around.”

“After all, you’re just like me and you know it.”

#an important thing in missing numbers is that everyone is a victim. but nobody is innocent. do you understand me #everyone is as much of an antagonist towards each other as they are an ally #its a story about trauma and the effect it has on people and their relationships.#traumatized kids who grew up together. now adults struggling to find a reason why things have to be this way.#and they can only turn to the people who were there when things were darkest. but they also seem the only ones to blame #its all messy and complicated and painful and difficult and tragic tragic TRAGIC #and i think leafs story is the most shining example of these themes in mn tbh. im glad i could talk on the rest of it yayy!#missing numbers #please note and remember that mn is a very personal story and is about our emotions and thoughts before anything else #i get anxious about tumblrinas being tumblrinas so i feel the need to clarify that #me writing scared adults who were scared kids lashing out about it isn't me demonizing trauma and mental illness or whatever #its me venting and writing my own feelings in a dramatized form so i can grasp them in a more tangible way #its a very important thing to me. and it makes me very glad others can resonate with it. we're all in this bullshit together!

SO SO SO SUPER COOL. i first saw your artwork back in 2022 [i think…!?]?? your ososan stuff! and i thought your artstyle was so super cute and unique that when you started posting it again in 2023 i recognized it off the bat haha. i look at everything outside of ososan too now and i find it all very fun! we have a lot of overlap in other interests but its also been so cool to see things i have only thought of getting into without ever taking the leap LIKE CATS!!! I REALLY LIKE SEEING POSTS ABOUT CATS!! its all very interesting to me!! i like seeing you indulge so much. its fun seeing blogs that are so obviously and beautifully collections of things that person is passionate about!! i would like to see even more of that. i VERY MUCH get being held back by a sense of being cringe/too much but i bet if you doubled down on everything without caring things would only become doubly cool! its also very fun to see someone who has a lot of continual passion for their fankids for homestuck?! admittedly my hs days were primarily like..4-3 years ago but back then it was really common for people to start msfpas or make ocs and then run out of steam really fast [its a strong time commitment and VERY OBVIOUSLY AS I WOULD KNOW interests change!!] but seeing how much youve stuck with page and the development of your art since making them is CRAZYYYYYYYYY and so inspirational!!! truly very awesome to see. currently rereading the midnight series and goshh i just feel the need to say how insane it makes me!!!

ive never been this invested in a story and i just wanted to quickly thank you for putting it out there and for the work youve done, i am being very very genuine when i say its my favourite piece of writing to exist

the ammount of hits im catching towards things that happen later on in the story that i didnt catch the first or the second time i reread it

AGHHHH its just so so so good and im in such awe of how thought out it all is genuinely thank you for sharing all of that with the internet it changed me as a person and ill never be the same i think

(also i keep ending up listening to hozier while reading it and i think i just associate hozier with the series at this point)

4) i LOVEEE how you (and electron road suspect) are the fandoms main proponents of the best joker out ship, poly!jo. in any capacity, i love the complexity of love between multiple people, but i understand how arduous a task this can be, characterizing dynamics perfectly and the like. you succeed every time, and i love love love it.

9) i look forward to every one of your uploads, BUT honestly, i am soooo excited about the new bojan/jan/martin fic youve started. ive always been such a martin girlie, and i find the relationship he has with bojan to be really special. im simple, and i usually prefer fics that are smutty and explicit, but with them i almost prefer more romantic/fluff content if anything. im really surprised people dont write about them more in that regard, tbh. im really excited to see where you take this one!

12) ngl ive reread all your fics at least three times, there's something to like in all of them and i am an addict. the one ive tended towards revisiting the most though is "the edge of us," more specifically chapter two. WHEN I TELL YOU, some of the hottest shit ive read in this fandom. period. kris's revenge and bojan's desperation, dear lord i am truly a sinner the way i replay their mirror sex in my head during class on particularly boring days. i think smut can be really difficult to write, and im very picky about my preferences and the way a lot of authors choose to portray that. you, however, have definitely got it down and i love you for it.

I also love @electron-road-suspect work! It's funny because I actually didn't really set out to write poly!jo specifically, it just sort of naturally evolved in Distortion. I'm really enjoying it now and it's become a key part of the story in a bigger way than I anticipated. It's also been lovely to get people's feedback because it's a nuanced and complex thing to navigate and I didn't want it to feel like I just forced it, so I was a bit nervous about it! So thank you!! ❤️

9) A fic i'm excited for you updating/posting

I also think Bomartin is such a gorgeous ship, and I absolutely feel you because I also see them in a softer more romantic way, or even as a deep platonic/brotherly thing (I say as I write them fucking haha) the way they act together with such incredibly casual and affectionate intimacy is just 🥰🥺😍 honestly the Bomartin/Bo(Jan) thing is very very loose in the sense that I just kinda started writing cuz I felt like doing something with it, but it doesn't feel very well planned or cohesive and I don't really know where its going. But I think I might have a second chapter ready soon enough!

hey hi sorry i just came on here to rant for a moment about your road trip au.

so i was rereading my favorite chapters cause ive been haing a bit of a DAY (chapter 3,4, and 6, by the way, i have quotes written in my ACTUAL JOURNAL from them). and ive come on here to make two things known.

first of all, the mix between humour and plot and pining and FUCKING HEARTBREAK is done soooo soooo well. i mean, how are 'James glances down quickly, not even having the decency to look embarrassed. “These? They’re my Jar Jar underwear. Evan got them for me. Are we really not going to have sex?”' and 'Evan scoffs dismissively, eyes rimmed with red, and Regulus feels like everything between his ribs is being ripped out.' be in the SAME FUCKING CHAPTER. HOW. and youve encapsulate each character so well, you've given them layers and plot and FEELINGS AND SHIT AND ITS SO COOL.

but also on a more serious not i feel like we need to talk about evan and chapter 6. what the fuck. what the fuck. the way his ed started because he wanted to look like reg so he was 'enough' for the man who he loved but wasnt in love with him. that is so fucking devastating but so real? everything about the chapter was so real and so twisted but at the same time like just waht the fic needed. and the fact that reg knew about the ed but doesnt know the reason is so upsetting too shit.

anyway i have a few questions for future chapters if you dont mind.

will regulus ever find out the reason behind evans ed?

mattheo from chapter 3 (dorcas' hot model canadian friend) will he show up and cause some drama?

whose pov is the next chapter?

how many chapters b4 the dorcas chapter?
