i want so badly to write meta about the beast of gavaudan and the how the whole beast/mason thing compares to previous seasons like jackson in s2 and void stiles and berserker scott but s5b is inarguably my weakest point of the entire show. Even during my rewatch, i didn't watch all of it because valack and the beast's origins are both soo boring that i skipped everything to do with them. Also unlike s3 and s5a, i very very rarely rewatch 5b so i can't even conjure the necessary information off the top of my head. all of which is so annoying.
like i could do soo much with mason. the corruption of goodness aspect and scott, the reveal unfolding almost exactly like void stiles which of itself is somewhat similar to jackson, actually i have so much to say on how jackson is brought out of his, for lack of a better word, possession vs mason, ooh comparisons between mason, jackson and scott trying to escape peter's control in s1, the aspect of violation and recovery (which i'd want to use scott as a comparison but he got NOTHING after the berserker which is so fucking unfair when stiles got 2 goddamn seasons of a gorgeously built self destruction arc after the nogitsune [admittidly scott also gets a gorgeous 2 seasons worth of character struggles out of the nogitsune but it wasn't HIS possession so i'm disregarding it--really though s4 scott as a product of s3 trauma is done so well sometimes, almost makes the nonsensical portions worth it] ) so instead stiles's post nogitsune arc would work ig.
i'm almost tempted to actually write half that up in proper posts anyway but even if nobody else knew i was talking out of my ass with only the vaguest recollections of the season to back it up, I'd know and it'd bug me for the rest of eternity.

Any thoughts after watching the new promo?
So many!
Let's start with the basics : how many days have passed since Lucy last saw/talked to Tim?
Ngl, Angela's nonchalance was a bit disconcerting at first… especially after agreeing that Tim's warning was "alarming". That said, I get why she was trying to keep calm or didn't want to involve Grey either. At least, not without having more information first. The look on her face after Lucy left makes me think that she didn't completely brush off her worries. Just that she is going to try to see for herself what's going on first. I still wish she had appeared more supportive, but I'm guessing that this is the point. The vibe felt very reminiscent of the last two episodes (particularly 6.04), with Lucy probably feeling isolated/alone even if that's not the case. @thisnightissparkling089 summed it up perfectly.
Lucy is spiraling and I can't blame her. I fully get her frustrations and anxiety. Yes, she needs to trust Tim. At the same time, he needs to communicate with her. I get that he wants to protect her. But he also knows what's it like to be in her shoes and should understand how it's affecting her.
This whole storyline is really all about communication, and more specifically, how these two need to seriously learn how to properly communicate. All the cracks that have been teased here and there in s5b are finally coming to the surface.
Let's just say that there's a thin line between trying to protect someone and taking their agency away… so I fully get why Lucy looks so pissed when she says "stop protecting me" in the promo trailer.
Bottom line : I can't wait, even if it's going to hurt so so bad.

@bestialitybestiary Going to respond to your reply here instead of in reply to your post. Because it honestly had me baffled if you were actually paying attention or not.
@liliaeth I mean you're right, Scott was called out sometimes. But it somehow didn't feel as if he cared that much. It was sometimes said. Idk I feel like I have to reach for context every time I want to understand his emotions in the scene, because it's not clear. Idk if it's because of acting or directing. What I try to say is that because of those little things Scott may be perceived as ignorant or dumb, and it's a shame. I know he isn't. And I wish they portrayed his character with more care. I guess because of how they wrote/acted the character it was easy to see him as a bad friend, if someone wanted to see him that way. And it's a shame I wrote this post because I was wondering why Scott has such a bad rep in fandom. I love the guy
Tumblr media
My main issue is this, of all the characters on the show, there were three characters who were called out on their mistakes the most.
There was Scott, there was Lydia and there was Derek. Which makes it no wonder that on the entire show, these three characters had the most character growth and development of any and all characters on the show.
Compare that to characters like say Stiles who was essentially static for six seasons, and had little to no character growth, because the show didn't dare to ever hold him accountable. Never made him feel remorse for how terribly he treated everyone around, him, and especially how badly Stiles treated the people he cared about, like Scott, like his father, like Lydia, like Malia...
(In fact the only time we see Stiles display any guilt over anything, it's to do with either the Nogitsune or Donovan, both of them cases where Stiles blames himself for things that are categorically not his fault. But when it comes to things that actually are Stiles' fault... things he actually did to personally wrong, it just gets ignored, and we see no reaction to it from Stiles, or any kind of him taking responsibility for it.)
But because Scott 'was' called out, and Stiles 'was not', people fell in the false notion that what Scott did was wrong, while Stiles behavior was 'just funny', or perfectly fine. Even though in most cases it was actually the opposite.
It's why people most often don't realize just how bad a friend Stiles was throughout most of the show.
See, you wrote that you felt Scott didn't care that much... and my instant reaction was 'did you miss the fact that he literally tried to kill himself out of guilt on three separate occasions?
In Frayed he is literally refusing to let himself heal, because he feels responsible over what happened to Derek.
And this is added on in Motel California, where he's already lit the torch, and thus is rid of most of the Darach's influence when he tries to put himself on fire, because he feels responsible for everything bad that's ever happened in their life since he was bitten.
And then in s5b, after Theo murdered him, it's Scott who takes responsibility for everything that went wrong, despite him being a victim, where once again, he won't let himself heal.
(all while the show refuses to let Stiles apologize or in any way take responsibility for listening to Theo and betraying the pack)
It's a recurring theme on the show, and with Scott that he's constantly taking responsibility for everything bad that happens around him, even and especially when it isn't his fault.
It's one of his main character traits, and this tendency to blame himself for everything that goes wrong, is probably one of his primary character flaws.
Like, it starts as early as in s1, when Stiles blames Scott for his father getting hit by a car in 'the Tell', when in Heart Monitor, he refuses to even talk to Scott, and Scott is desperately trying to make up for something that Scott had nothing to do with.
With Stiles blaming Scott for the 'werewolf crap coming into their life', despite Scott being the victim, and even going as far as Stiles abusing Scott with lacrosse balls, and getting him beaten up by seniors (risking said seniors' lives) just to punish Scott in false claim of it just being 'training)
I get that Stiles was just frustrated and worried about his father, which Scott knows as well, and is why Scott doesn't hold it against him. But with this added on to Scott's already existing tendency to take the blame for everything that goes wrong...
Scott could have refused, but instead he's blaming himself for these things, despite none of it being his fault... It's an ongoing character trait for Scott to do so.
I'm not saying the show was perfect, one of the main flaws the show had, esp. in regards to Scott, is that they went with the notion that Scott dealt with his suffering internally, and that the audience would see this as resilience. That he didn't lash out (outside of s1 when he's least in control of his instincts), and for the most part just dealt with it.
And directorial this lead to things like the show rarely if ever dealing with the horrors Scott went through. Even in the previouslies we rarely see a focus on what was done to Scott. Even Gerard torturing Scott with a knife in clear view in front of the hospital, and then threatening his Mom, is not mentioned in a single previously, no matter how relevant it would have been to do so...
Just like Melissa's horrified rejection of Scott in Fury is never once dealt with onscreen. Instead we get some mention of 'them being stronger now' in s3, when in reality what the show actually did was to stop having Melissa's behave like Scott's mother, and turning pretty much just into a mentor.
Where we see the sheriff putting his son first, and protecting his son at all cost, Melissa essentially stops doing so after Fury, and just starts putting expectations on him.
People ask why we keep bringing race into this, it's because in any other situation, where a white character's pain would be ignored in the show. (hell this is done plenty with Stiles even in tw fandom), fandom would then pick up the story in fanfic after fanfic...
But with Teen Wolf fandom, that does not happen.
Even Motel California, is more often made about Stiles, or Isaac, than it is made about Scott, a character who is clearly suicidal in canon.
And that would not be the case if Scott were white.
We constantly see fandom claim to hate Scott for traits that he either canonically does not have, faults, he canonically does not have, while ignoring the traits and flaws he does have, because they do not fit the narrative that people want the character or the show to be.

Hi ! First thing i love your reflections about richonne and the way you detail everything.
That's why i want to ask you this : In your opinion, when did Rick / Michonne fell deeply in love with each other ? I think maybe in between season 3 - 4 for Michonne and for Rick during Carl's eye recovery. Of course we know they got a strong connection since the begining.
Thanks !!!
Hi! Thank you so much. 😊 I LOVE this question cuz I think about when exactly they fell in love often and I always enjoy hearing others takes on when they believe those moments were. (And since it's such a good question I of course had to give an extended response with supporting evidence😅)
Imo, Rick & Michonne both fall deeply in love with each other by the end of Season 4.
Like their attraction and feelings were stirring from S3 forward, but at the end of S4, I think that feeling of “I’m in love with this person" starts becoming even more evident.
For Rick, I say it's that precious moment on the train tracks with Michonne and Carl when his heart knows deep down that he doesn't just like and need her but he deeply loves and has fallen for her.
Tumblr media
And Michonne is not far behind as I think she has that same deep-down feeling in the next episode, during the “Cuz I’m Okay Too” scene. I feel like that’s the moment her heart becomes more aware that she deeply loves him and has fallen for him. Their minds just needed time to catch up & allow them to act on what their hearts felt in S4.
Tumblr media
To me, it’s all so clear in their looks during these scenes. Because the way she looks at him in that 4x16 scene and how he looks at her on those tracks in 4x15 feels very reminiscent of how they look at each other on that couch in 6x10 when they both know full well they’re in love.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I really feel like the only few reasons it takes R&M so long to act on those S4 feelings is because one; the world kept screaming at them throughout S5/6A and they had to focus so much on just bare-bones survival and recovering from PTSD, two; Michonne needed that convo with Carl and Judith in 6x10 to feel comfortable letting her heart take the wheel and take that next step with Rick. And Rick just needed that confirmation that the feeling was mutual because I think he really respected and valued her role in his life and didn’t want to potentially jeopardize that by professing his feelings for her unless he knew it was something she wanted too. (and three; as fione as Rick is, I low-key feel like Rick initially didn’t think he could pull a baddie like Michonne and in his troubled S5B/6A state he thought he’d have to settle elsewhere. ijs. 💁🏽‍♀️😋)
But fortunately, Rick and Michonne both realized how perfect they were for each other and acted on it once they finally had time to heal and breathe a little.
S4 Richonne will always be so special to me and it’s especially because I think it’s the season they fall deeply for each other and slowly but surely become aware of it. I’d been thinking about doing mini breakdowns of my perspective on all the different eras of Richonne because I feel each season, from S3 to S9, brings about a new layer & era to their relationship and this question has me even more motivated to try and explore that because every era is just so good. So thank you, anon!

ypu mentioned thinking that hook has ptsd or cptsd. what makes you think this? And would you say it would affect his relationship with anyone or with situations?
so ! personally leaning towards c-ptsd for him.
c-ptsd or complex PTSD differs from PTSD in that its caused by a continous traumatic event or multiple traumatic events in succession (whereas regular ptsd is caused by a single traumatic event).
now for killian's trauma.. let's see:
lost his mother
sold into servitude by his father
spent his entire childhood and teenhood as a slave
been to the navy (with mentions of an ongoing war)
lost his brother
lost his wife AND hand
so I'd say he has the "multiple traumatic events" requirement checked. now for symptoms:
- difficulty controlling your emotions: we see him often be impulsive and snapping at others; we witnessed multiple knee-jerk reactions from him (pulling a gun on ursula in 4b, wanting to burn his emotions in 6b)
- feeling as if you are permanently damaged or worthless - he struggled with self-loathing and resentment throughout the series, and often felt like his past actions were too evil to ever be forgiven or redeemed. we can see he feels unworthy of love and support (like when he tells Emma "I'm not sure I deserve saving" in s5b)
feeling like nobody can understand what happened to you - I feel like until he met Emma (and her infamous "you and I, we understand each other" quote), he probably felt like he was alone in his feelings and experiences
- feeling very angry or distrustful towards the world, avoiding friendships and relationships, or finding them very difficult - "love brings nothing but wasted years and endless torment" straight from his mouth. when we first met him, his relationships boiled down to superficial allyships to aid his cause.
constant feelings of emptiness or hopelessness, regular suicidal feelings - for someone who calls himself a survivor, he sure as hell had a lot of suicidal thoughts and tendencies. from going on what was essentially a suicide mission to kill the Crocodile, to talking about how he would join Milah once he avenged her. he was also... very quick to jump and sacrifice himself (call it selfless, I call it "doesn't care if he dies")
other symptoms can include losing hope and positive world views ("I'd hate to be the one to offer optimism", constant dismissal of heroes' remarks about hope and happy endings) as well as substance abuse and addiction. which. yeah, I can bet he abused more than just rum, considering that opioid misuse goes back to the 17th century (golden age of piracy) as well as tobacco and other recreational drugs. we see him struggling with addiction all his life and its a running theme for the character (with parallels between addiction and darkness)
as for affection his relationships, most definitely. people with cptsd are very often untrusting of others. when we met him, his walls were as high as Emma's when it came to opening up to people, he simply had a more playful, flirty persona he put on for th3 world to mask it. and for situations, cptsd causes someone to be in a state of survival at all times ("I'm a survivor" yea I wonder why) and be hyper aware of their surroundings ("I'm quite perceptive" again I wonder why)
overall, while I don't think this (or his possible BPD and ADHD, both of which go with cptsd often, bpd especially) were intentional by the writers, I do believe that once you compare his behaviour to the behaviour of people diagnosed, there are some clear similarities too large to ignore. I don't think he really understood the concept of mental health before coming to storybrooke (I'm unsure if the concept even existed in people's minds in the EF). but yea. it goes with his character and backstory I think.

3 and 9 sfw and 1 11 12 and 14 nsfw🤭
I think this is the post you’re referring to! If I’m wrong let me know!
Shipping Headcanons! Send Numbers & Ships!
SFW:
3. Who fixes the vehicle after a breakdown?
Well obviously thats Kurt. He literally grew up working in a garage. Kurt definitely helps Burt out a lot and actually enjoys working with cars. Fuck yeah breaking stereotypes! (Please if you are interested in Kurt working at hummel’s tires and lube check out the little fic I wrote about it HAHA)
9. Is someone multilingual? Do they try to teach another language to the other? How does it go?
Ooh I’m sure Blaine knows at least some Filipino!
Okay first a little hc family background: Blaine’s mom is Filipino Pam who? Lol and his Dad is white/American. His dad was married before and had cooper with his previous wife. When he remarries he has Blaine. This also explains the big age gap between Cooper and Blaine and why they have such a complicated relationship.
Now back to the language: I think Blaine tries to teach Kurt some little words when Kurt eats at Blaine’s parents house. Blaine speaks some Filipino with his mom and Kurt is eager to learn what they are talking about. So Blaine will teach him some useful words and phrases like ‘food’, ‘sorry’, ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ but also important words like ‘love’, ‘kiss’, ‘boyfriend’ etc. I dont think Kurt will ever be fluent in Filipino but he likes that he knows the words Blaine has taught him!
NSFW:
1. How often do they have sex, if at all?
I think that sex and that physical connection is really important to them. They hint on this quite a lot in s5b (my beloved). So I think they have sex pretty often. Usually at least a few times a week. Not necessarily full on penetrative sex each time, but they like to make the other feel good by getting them off in various ways whenever they can <33
11. Favourite romantic gestures during sex/orgasm?
I love this one! I am a really romantic sex enjoyer so I have a few for you:
Kurt always says “I love you” when he comes. He can’t help it. It’s just how he feels.
Blaine wants to be held close when they have sex. It makes him feel even more connected and in the moment. Kurt is more than happy to provide.
Kurt always whispers words of praise and admiration to Blaine. Especially when they are trying new things or when he pushes Blaine’s limits.
Their foreplay is really disgustingly romantic. The lightest of touches. Cheek caresses. Stroking the other person’s hair. Taking their time (whenever they can) and really loving each other.
They compliment each other a lot. On their acts, on their bodies, the noises they make.
Honestly? Kurt bottoming. My boy is a top 90% of the time. To bottom you really need to trust your partner and Blaine is the only person Kurt trusts 100%. He isn’t afraid to be vulnerable around him. He trusts him enough to give up control like that.
They never stop asking if the other person is feeling good/liking what they are doing. Communication is key and they always want to check in.
12. How are their afterglows?
Blaine gets really snuggly and sleepy when he comes. He wants to glue himself to Kurt’s side and never leave. He likes to doze off with his face buried in Kurt’s neck.
Kurt still feels a little mad with arousal after he comes. It takes him a while to come down so he just needs to keep kissing Blaine for as long as he can. Nipping his ear. Leaving light sucking kisses under his jaw. Holding onto/squeezing Blaine’s butt. All that good stuff. This in return makes Blaine feel incredibly loved so its a win win.
14. Lights on or off? Do they look at each other? Or is someone embarrassed?
Usually they keep the lights on. Even their first time they had the lights on. Yeah they both felt really shy but they are also just really curious and really into the idea if seeing the other person. They love looking at each other. Even if they sometimes get insecure about their own bodies they just wouldn’t want to miss out on looking at the other. Now, when they have late night sleepy sex they can’t be bothered to turn the lights on and just focus just more on feel and touch. They also love this.
I’m sure that in s5b Blaine would want the lights off more because of his insecurities but Kurt keeps reminding him how beautiful and attractive he is. And they work through this together <33
This was really fun to answer!! Im glad you dug up this old post again :)
If you want to send me more numbers from this post or have other questions about some of my hcs please send me an ask!!

I love all of your fic, the way you write Theo and Liam not only as a ship but also as characters is incredible. Also, Thiam content in 2023? I am blessed.
I'm always so intrigued by the way you write Derek and Theo's scenes together, they are so interesting and work so well. I'm kind of curious, if both Derek and Scott were alphas, what Theo as Derek's beta might look like? Or what you might envision that dynamic as?
1. Thank you! It does occasionally occur to me that I’m still writing Thiam, what, six years after the show ended? But I really have no intention of stopping, audience or no audience, so I’m glad people are still enjoying. 😂
2. I’ll admit I’d never thought about Theo being Derek’s beta!
There’s sort of a threshold question for me here, if in this universe where Derek and Scott are simultaneously alphas, everything canon with Theo still happened. Because canon is what makes Theo interesting to me: being taken by the Dread Doctors, being a spy for them for so long, everything that he tried in S5 and especially his experience in the skinwalker prison and his redemption-esque arc with Liam and the pack in S6. So how Derek would fit into all that becomes the interesting “first” question for me, if you will.
But sort of assuming that everything canon still happened, how would their dynamic as alpha and beta work? Depending on when we’re talking, I’m tempted to say horribly. If Derek and S5 Theo met, especially S5B Theo, I could see a complete clash, there. Derek’s never struck me as the type to have an over-abundance of patience for someone like S5B Theo, who would not only be difficult, but be cruel and casual with how he’d wield his abilities against others. And I don’t think Derek would stand for it, so it’d be a constant, pretty brutal power struggle.
Post-skinwalker prison and at least the start of Theo’s redemption arc (and relationship with Liam, with those two things in my mind pretty much synonymous)? Potentially more interesting. The issue is, I see both of them as pretty guilt-wracked, and I don’t know that Derek could help Theo navigate that: not when they’d both likely blame themselves for their families being dead (or at least Theo’s sister). In a lot of ways I see Theo’s recovery and growth in S6 as dependent on Scott (and Liam), who could help pull him out of the guilt and help him figure out how to live with it, and grow to become someone “redeemed” even with it still being a core part of who he is.
But with both Derek and Theo as Scott’s betas? I think they work really well. They can both “surrender” some of the hard choices to Scott, in a way, since I think both of them would have trouble trusting themselves to do the right thing, rather than easy thing, or the thing that gets them what they want. And in that way they’d have that bond: having made mistakes, and mistakes that got people killed (Derek’s more innocently, for sure), and knowing what it’s like to try and make it up to the world and themselves.
Anyway! Not sure you were expecting that novel, but hopefully that answers your question!

911 6x16 episode title (according to @911bts ) is "Lost".
I wonder if it's about Buck or maybe about Bobby, who started his way downhill at the end of 6x09.
I am really curious because we witnessed Chimney, Maddie's and Eddie's breakdowns in season 5b, and Hen's breakdown was in S6a. We have both Bobby and Buck, each in his own private crisis that started in S6a but didn't have a real conclusion.
My speculations are that if it's Buck, it may very well be during or after recovery with performance anxiety. I really think that Buck's crisis could be played out in the first few episodes of S6b, especially if he's the one hurt.
The reason I'm more leaning towards Lost being Bobby's breakdown, is because if Buck is indeed the one to be hurt, so soon after his sponsor's death, Bobby may feel guilty and angry and eventually will lose his grip on that calm he's holding so tightly on.
Last season, Bobby was close to break when Eddie came and pulled him from the edge, but it wasn't resolved or treated. It was just shelved until the next crisis.
That's why I think that once everything calms down, Bobby will have his own breakdown, maybe brought by new details about his sponsor's death or it may be something else, but it's coming, in my opinion.
I can't wait for buddie S5b parallels and bathena parallels to previous seasons when Bobby was there for Athena. 🥺💜🙏

Actually agree with everything you said, she’s def not someone I’m nervous about. She’ll play her role and then leave d it’s obvious she is not here to stay much like Taylor was in s5b. There’s only 10 episodes as well so there’s def a time limit, I predict by madney wedding she will be gone what about you?
again, it's hard to say, especially given the lack of a time skip. i can cautiously assume that it will be less than half a season. but given all the...surprises we got in s6, i'm not gonna be holding on too fast to any particular theory

it’s always been funny to me that when people talk about acting on glee, some point out chris in s5b as being “checked out” when i assumed that kurt’s exhaustion and frustration was the point. kurt was probably overwhelmed from working/interning while being a full time student (especially following finn’s death and burt’s health problems), then comes him being the victim of a hate crime and having relationship problems all while he’s living in close quarters with multiple people and zero privacy. imo it makes perfect sense that kurt would be disengaged. i personally think chris was one of the best actors in the show overall and pretty consistent in acting as kurt, though kurt did also have some of the best and most consistent writing lol
I mean, yes I agree with all of this.
I think something we didn't know when it was airing but had a feeling about was the fact that something bad was going to happen to Klaine. I think Chris (and Darren) did know where the season was going -- and where Season 6 was going, and played it accordingly. I think Kurt's actions within the context of the bigger story, make sense.
I do think, though, that Glee was trying to walk a tightrope, though -- and make sure that Klaine was in a decent spot by the end of Season 5 so to be semi-satisfying if they had to be cancelled.
I agree, too, that especially among the young actors - Chris was at the top of the list.
When I think about what was going on during Season 5 behind the scenes -- Cory had just died, Chris was in the middle of whatever the hell was going on with Lea and Naya, his books were just taking off, he was in a new-ish stable relationship with someone he really cared about and the Tinhatters are threatening this person's life and attempting to sabotage his career... it's kind of remarkable that Chris didn't outright quit.
(In fact - those of use who were around - remember when Chris's twitter was hacked in the hiatus between 5 and 6 saying that he was leaving the show? And we all pretty much believed it because, um, yeah??)
And still, Chris had some of the highest professionalism even when we know he wasn't thrilled with some of the plot lines he was given.
I also agree that Kurt had some of the most consistent writing. I mean, more goes into a show than acting, and as I've said before, there's some really weird writing, directing, editing, etc choices on the show. The tone is all over the place. The show, as a whole, is a really hot mess -- and I'd argue it was that way even in the beginning. So, the fact that Kurt was relatively on even ground throughout the series is kind of remarkable.
Back in the day - a lot of it was from Kurt stans who wanted to layer a reason of hate over the Klaine stuff (which was super annoying then).
Now - there's this weird reassurance of it -- but in general, the back half of Season 5 isn't as beloved with new groups of fans? Have no idea why?? But I'm not about to go on to TikTok and figure it out.
I'm so over the Chris/Season 5 stuff, tbh. It is what it is. Either enjoy the show for what it is or don't? Idk.

I’ve seen a lot of people on social media say that the way buddie is being treated in s6 so far is how sterek was treated in s3 of teen wolf. Which was they were purposely and deliberately separated for pettiness by the writers and an insistence to make people stop shipping sterek. I didn’t watch teen wolf but is this an accurate accusation to make of how alarming it is that buddie haven’t had a meaningful conversation after the premiere in s6 yet every other pair of characters has.
(incoming long post oops)
you saw a sterek buddie comparison being made and u thought of ME? kisses u
anyway, i had never actually considered this but perhaps from a very basic overview of the season with no knowledge of sterek, that's what this looks like. yes, it's frustrating they haven't had meaningful conversation and that it seems like they're being kept apart, but the very key difference is that 911 has not made any interviews having oliver and ryan cuddling with each other to promote the show, or hyping up awards where buddie was nominated for best ship, or tweeting about buddie constantly because that's where a lot of their viewers come from.
i didn't want teen wolf s3 live, but i did watch from end of s4, and even in season 5 and 6, when tyler hoeclin (derek hale) had left the show, they were still queerbaiting and keeping the ship relevant (x x).
(also, sterek were kept separate for much of the second half of s3, not so much 3a)
so, yes, in one sense it could feel like they're treating buddie the way they treated sterek by keeping them apart. but buddie is not even CLOSE to being queerbaited the way sterek was. also, buck and eddie didn't have as many big moments in s5a as they did in s5b. i think we need to all look at s5 as an example of how well 911 does dissonance and separation so that when everything falls back into place together, it's that much more rewarding. like, seeing eddie and buck working together at a fire for the first time in an entire season in may day was so. fucking. good. 911 has a tendency to pull characters apart only to bring them back together (and we as a fandom have a tendency to get antsy about that because we forget).
is it annoying? yes. do i think it's what happened with sterek? no. especially when sterek didn't have nearly as many canon roots as buddie does (sure, it's implied that stiles was derek's anchor, but eddie point blank said buck is christopher's legal guardian).
another thing with teen wolf is that sterek got HUGE very quickly, and when the show realized that they kind of cut sterek off cold turkey (most of the sterek fandom is based around head canons anyway). buddie has been building and building steadily since s2, and the fandom has only grown with the show and the seasons. if the writers hated buddie and didn't want people shipping it, they wouldn't have given us the tsunami arc, 'wanna go for the title?', the well scene, the shooting, the will, eddie's breakdown, co-parenting, the couch convo, etc. sterek was s1-2 heavy because when they realized the fandom was getting genuinely big, they said 'oh fuck this' and went heavy on the stalia and the stydia and gave derek a love interest that wasn't batshit insane.
honestly, watching a show with hopes that a non canon lgbt ship is going to get together can sometimes be incredibly frustrating, disheartening, and it can seriously ruin the show for you because you feel kind of cheated out of representation that's so glaringly obvious how could they not see it! and i get you. i am you. but at the same time, if you're losing hope and it's making you sad that every week they seem to distance themselves, maybe you should stop watching with the hopes that they get together, and start watching to make fun little headcanons and write little spec fics. the best part of fandom, in my opinion, isn't just the getting to see your ship kiss on screen part. there's fics and edits and fanart and gifs and so many ways to engage with the content aside from just viewing it. it's truly so wonderful.
personally, i do think buddie will get together and i don't see similarities to sterek. sure, they're both popular non-canon mlm ships, but i have a lot more faith in buddie than i EVER had in sterek. we'll be good :)
anyway tl;dr, i don't think this is the same thing as sterek because, despite the distance, nothing else is being treated the same. 911 is just doing what 911 does best—making us sit and wait because we know the reward will be so worth it in the long run.
sorry for sort of rambling and i hope this answered ur question anon!!

How do you headcanon brittana in 5x20 had santana actually been in the episode lol like scenes etc., do you see Brittany's scenes going any differently etc.?
Anon! Sweet Anon. When I got this I thought this ask was very interesting but, unfortunately, it was the day I had a 10 hour-flight and went on hiatus so, oops, my bad on replying three weeks later. Hope you're reading this, let's go.
I think there are two main versions of this, one where we actually explain the confusion around Brittana in s5B and what was with Santana returning without Britt, and one (more likely would have happened) where we don't mind that and Brittany returns without acknowledging all that.
To do the latter first, I suppose this is what we could have gotten realistically. I'm not sure about the rumours surrounding 5x20 but IIRC there was a possibility of both Santana and Britt being in the ep, it wasn't an either/or. In which case, I don't see Brittany's scenes changing too much. She shows up the same way only instead of the Yeast-i-Stat line about Santana we have a throwaway meta joke about their Lesbos vacation and Troubletones scenes with Mercedes. I wish all people who robbed me of that a very step in shit, btw. And Santana is involved in at least some of the TV script scenes instead of Britt such as the ones that were obviously meant to be Kurtcheltana ones. Other than that, I can maybe see one or one and a half, if we're generous, actual Brittana scenes happening.
I headcanon that they would have reaffirmed moving to New York together after the tour, saving us the same dialogue from 6x03. Maybe a scene just before Pompeii where Santana's packing up to go on tour with Mercedes and Britt is helping her, Santana reminisces about New York and Britt having sent her there only for them to be in the city together this time around. Dare I say, even a throwback to the 4x04 laundry scene and a full circle moment now that they're together again? Just something soft and sweet with Mercedes coming in later and the three embarking on their adventure together. AS WE DESERVED. God, fucking Glee can pry my TT girls out of my dead cold hands. Anyway.
Tumblr media
Now, the second version is more complicated and less likely for Glee to have done. In this version, there's some tension when Brittany shows up in Bushwick though we have some of the same jokes. But something happened, minor fallout during their holiday, maybe Santana acknowledges that Brittany came back later than expected. You know, anything to make sense of the s5 timeline and what went down with them after they got back together. It still makes zero sense to me that Santana missed a few episodes, came back later without explanation as to where Britt is and then Brittany showed up in 5x20 not knowing where Santana would be. What? No way. So here we explain it through a minor conflict moment and maybe it makes it into the first version of the pilot script. The exaggerated version of their fight (which was barely a fight, anyway) makes Santana realize that it didn't matter that much. What matters is that Brittany is there, much the same as in the other version. This scenario gets us more Brittana content and like a tiny bit of conflict but only to explain the confusion of s5B. Same TT content more or less, same conclusion, sets up their s6 arc where Santana decides on the proposal.
I'm sure that even if Santana was in the episode the Brittana content would have been minimal, but I think there was a way of smoothing over their story even in just one or two scenes. Either way, I headcanon an alternate version of 5x20 being like a missing puzzle piece. It connects where we left them in 5x13 to where they come back in 6x02 and especially 6x03. Even if we joke away Britt's extended vacation, we still could have had a moment of reflection between the two that leads smoothly into the Mercedes tour. God, I would fight someone, anyone, so hard for tour content.
All in all, 5x20 pisses me off so much but I like the one with Santana in it in my head. She deserved one last NY episode and we deserved a taste of NYC Brittana. Mostly though Naya as a person and professional deserved better but I digress.

Some unpopular opinions…please don’t block me.
- Sam was a terrible boyfriend to Mercedes, especially in S5B. They had chemistry but I wish he learned to treat her right and it stuck.
- Sam is praised for the bare minimum which puts me off him.
- Finn, Quinn, and Brittany have nice voices.
- I like Tartie more than Tike since we saw more of them and got to know their characters better. They’re one of my favourite endgame couples.
- S1 Finn was the best Finn. S4 Finn called a child a slur and beat up Brody, which soured him for me there. S1 Finn was horrible for calling Kurt a slur but I genuinely think he wanted to make amends and educate himself (until the next Slur Sunday comes around… 🙄)
- Carole deserves as much praise as Burt.
- Previously Unaired Christmas is the best episode in the entire show.
omg i started typing a response to this and i thought i saved it as a draft but i deleted it 💀 rip to me
+ Agree. Honestly I blame most of that on Sam's character assassination. Likeee he was chill and well meaning at first and then they kept bouncing him between Finn 2.0 and a total bonehead (so Finn 2.0) and it was upsetting. It is hard for me to get into Samcedes fr in canon bc of how weird their relationship canonically is
+ Agree. But then again the bare minimum is more than half the guys on the show did lol sooo... Take what we can get ig. Also see the above point
+ Agree. They simply wouldn't be on the show if they didn't sound nice lol
+ Hmmm idk. I do kind of hold that opinion and I just think Kenna has great chemistry together. Plus we got to see fuck all of Mike and Tina. But idk both boys rub me the wrong way more often than not and Tina deserved better than both of them. I was thinking before like at least Artina had more of a friendship?? But also Artie's whole "actually Tina you're McKinley's biggest bitch" hoo boy it pissed me off. But also Mike pulled that whole "Rachel is one of a kind" like bro defend your girlfriend what the fuuuu
+ First of all "the next slur sunday" had me fucking screeching laksjflksjfldksfjlskdafsad. I have to say s1 Finn is the best bc there is still a hope that he will actually get better. But then he just like. Doesn't. So that's fun
+ Actually I think Carole deserves more praise than Burt bc she had to raise Finn so she started out at a disadvantage. But fr tho I wish we saw SO much more of her getting to interact with Kurt. Even as much as Burt interacting with Finn
+ Well bestie I certainly can't agree w it being the best of the whole show but it was lots of fun. When I did my ranking it was 67 so kind of lower middle but still higher than a ton of shit bc at least it was fun. Plus elf costumes <3 Plus Pezberry obvi
whew okay i got through them all! thankfully none of these were a blockable offense. you survive to see another day on this blog uwu

8 For jjk but aside from adult/kid pairings like what do you just not vibe with and 7 ouat ???
8. Least favorite ship from [IF]
oh man there are. so many. idk if su.kufushi / su.kudori (?) counts as adult / kid since. you know. it's fifteen year olds and cursed spirit that is thousands of years old but. definitely those two are up there in my least favorites list. as for ships i just don't vibe with: go.johime and yu.tamaki are the first two that come to mind. like i don't necessarily have anything against people who do ship those. i just feel like especially with gojo & utahime a lot of times that ship lends to massive mischaracterizations of both characters lol also utahime and maki are both lesbians. and i don't think gojo would be in the right mental space for a relationship post-geto for um. a very long time. he should definitely get some therapy first
7. Least favorite character from [IF]
HOOK oh my god i'm so sorry stop reading if you like hook right now. i'm putting this under a cut bc i know i have people who were cs shippers following me skdhfk
i hate him so much. like obviously i also hate cora and hades but. hook is one of those characters where the fans made me hate him more and like. the reason he's my number 1 most hated character in the show is bc everyone treated him like he never did anything wrong when his "redemption arc" was just. getting with emma? like they had regina have to prove over and over and over that she was "worthy" of redemption but all hook had to do was make out with the savior😶 also he got to come back to life when he did absolutely NOTHING to help stop hades but robin actually sacrificed himself to stop hades and he had to stay dead. and then hook and emma made out over robin's grave. so yeah not a fan lol
ALSO the only reason hook had to die in the first place was bc literally the first thing he did upon finding out he was the dark one was try to kill emma's entire family? imo he should have stayed dead for that. like he'd BEEN the dark one since they got back from camelot so the darkness was there inside of him. but once he found out about it, he was just immediately just like 'yeah imma let it corrupt me. and then i'm going to murder my gf's entire family!!' and then they STILL all went to bring him back from the underworld??? BESTIES HE TRIED TO MURDER YOU!!! also i saw an article written between s5a and s5b airing that called hook's death "untimely" like bestie,, he was ~200 years old that's not untimely😭

Watch thread for Good Trouble S5b:
(I still can't believe this is the final lap like 😣😣😣😣😣😣)
Ep 11:
- The Silas thing could've easily happened for real and it makes me realise how unsafe the Coterie is like there's no real security for the place and you can only secure your room but anyone could walk in and hang around in the bathroom or kitchen or any of their common areas like....
- Seeing the actress who's working with Luca in the kitchen makes me remember that she played Jojo on Home Economics and i reallyyyy wanted her to end up with Connor but now i'll never know because the show got cancelled 😣
- Kelly has done it again (negative) like whyyyy make things awkward omds
- Mariana's response def proved him right
- "Isaac is always blushing" 😭
- Not to be overly critical but why would you wear white on white to a date like......even if they were going to an upscale restaurant, there's no worry about stains....?
- Malika and Isaac establishing rules of their dynamic is sooooo Tatbilb coded
- "What's THAT supposed to mean?" is such a charged question like i would've just acted frozen instead of attempting to answer at all
- Davia's hand brush off 🤣🤣🤣 and RIGHT
- Hmmmm i wonder if The Bear inspired them to do this Dennis/restaurant arc in a way
Ep 12:
- This intro was definitely inspired by The Bear (minus the zombies ofc)
- Evan still gives me butterflies especially because of the history he has with Mariana
- "I can't drop everything to help you again" oh wow....
- As much as it stings, i'm glad that Malika is learning how to handle failure
16th Jan 2024
Ep 12 Contd:
- Awwww they brought Raj back
- This negotiation scene really makes me wish this show had gotten a 6th season so that the dynamic of co-CEO/exes/friends could be navigated further like Evan and Mariana's history is getting deeper and richer and more layered and i really love it
- Not in the same office 😭 oh i'm definitely tuned into seeing what happens between them!
18th Jan 2024
Ep 13:
- Gael's new tenant is so fine and he reminds me of Will Poulter (and both of them need me!)
- "I don't eat lunch" oh Wow
- The lift thing would make me sensitive too like i get her
- Alice trying to be positive with the critique 😭
- Chai this talk between Gael and Davia is really how silly certain annoyances seem when you say them out loud like
- Love love love seeing Mariana and Evan with all this tension between them
- "What happened between us?" WHOAAA
- Even hearing the recap was complicated like My Goodness......they went through one million things together
- This amnesia thing actually works for Evans so that they can make him redeemable as a better person
- She should've texted discreetly!!!!!
- Jokes aside, it's embarrassing that Evan can't handle a little tension without trying to put distance immediately (and maybe i need to grow out of that too like whoa.....)
- Not them doing Rock, Paper, Scissors......they are not serious people
- I really like how that one moment of concern for his wellbeing melted some of the tension between them and i like the idea that you can fight with someone while trusting that they care about you and will be there for you if need be.
- I really don't trust the councilman like i hope Malika doesn't take the deal. She can stay back for Lucia's sake but she shouldn't give the impression that she's doing to get something from him because he'll definitely ask for a favour in return
- Awww i like the vulnerable convo Davia had with her but wow it takes courage to be that direct
- NOT THEY DID THE LIFT OHHH.....
- Serena is evil i fear
- I love love love what the turtle represents between them
- He's rememberinggggg <3!
- Also still thinking about the ER doctor like he still needs me (platonically)
25th Jan 2024
Ep 14:
- The intro scene is soooo camp like this is REAL tv
- Joaquin putting away the cereal makes me wonder how they keep track of food in general like who buys cereal and milk? Are they generally for everyone or each person has their own? Do they buy cooking ingredients separately as well?
- Look at this tiny baby in his hands 🥺😣🥺 ohhhhhh i love the doctor icl
- "Twist. He's got a girl and it's not you." GASPPPP OH MY? 😭
- 3 sisters and 4 brothers like WHAT???
- This soft lighting and dreamy background music is giving romcom
- The way people feel about Claire being an obstacle to Sydcarmy is a bit like how i feel about Riley like let's get to the real love interest - Ladle!
- This Black waitress with the blonde braids looks soooo pretty omds
- These little intimate touches are soooo good like the hand on the knee and the shoulder push ‼️
- Davia's castmate is messy like even if it was true, why would you discuss that with someone? And in public too???
- The doorknob print wasn't a good idea in the first place because multiple people have touched the knob since that day and also Silas is definitely smart enough to wear gloves and keep his prints hidden!
- Ladle watching from the kitchen window is hilarious LIKEEEE 😭 babes it's a wrap
- "I wasn't the one who cheated. I was an accomplice, which isn't great but it's not the same thing." Oh....
- Dennis and Davia's fight was fun to watch especially the way it ended
- Awwww Callie's (text) cameo 😣
- I had the feeling that Jenna went back ☹️
13th February 2024:
Ep 15:
- Kelly is so messy for hiring Angelica omds
- Ladle giving him relationship advice is sooo 😭
- "Oh, Evan needs me" "Evan doesn't need me" AHHHH 🤣
- Malika having two love interests ohhh she's taking it fr
- I need to watch Casablanca like i'm so intrigued after watching this
- Kelly's reveal 😒.....they need to boo her off the stage 😾
Ep 16:
- AHHHHH CALLIE'S CAMEO
- Oh and she has bangs too like WHOAAA
- I've missed Callie so much like it really hasn't been the same since she left
- I love Malika's hairstyle in this scene - it's like she braided her locs into all back sections and then wrapped up the ends in two buns at the base of her neck
- See the way Callie mentioned all those charges quickly like that's a real lawyer!
- Off topic but i love her suit so much
- "I need you to be safe" WORLD STOP
- The height difference shocks me everytime like i really planned this fr
- The way Malika & Mariana are living parallel storylines of carrying someone's burdens on their backs. I know it's not always intentional but this is how men usurp the energy out of women in their lives by letting them carry and carry and carry all these emotional weights until they have nothing left to give inside.
- I love the entrance but how on earth can Callie afford this jeep service 😭 (no shade ofc)
- The way they've allowed Joaquin's storyline to absorb Mariana's life like my goodness......what happened to our sister to tech???
24th February 2024:
Ep 17:
- AHHH MOTHERS SIGHTED <3
- I feel sad that the show is ending with this season because i would've liked to see the storyline about the doctor go on for longer!
- Why does everything have to a Public Service Announcement like just read the review when you're alone 😭
- Everytime the Moms come on the show, it makes me want to watch The Fosters.
- This doctor always has his philosophy hat on like i love him
- "Shea Coulee is an icon"
- Not the exact order with his mom word for word ohhhhh i know she's more annoyed with Jamie now 🤣
- No but the similarity between Callie and his mum is sooooo.....
- "You did not misread the vibe" OHHHHHHHHHHHHH HELLLLOOOOOO
- I love this doctor so much it's unreal like i need this exact situation with a doctor guy to happen to me word for word
- Ambushing him at his mum's funeral is VERY out of line even if they're doing it for a good reason
5th March 2024
Ep 18:
- Callie is so pretty like that's cousin!
- "You don't like ramen" the way that one statement rolled out the tension of their history/past/emotional rollercoaster oh wow
- "Torn between the two of them" one of them has been in love with her for years and quite literally took a bullet for you and the other one is a co-tenant that has bonded with her over the course of adrenaline-inducing adventures like i think it's not really a torn situation i fear....
- I'm acc a bit displeased that the show tried to force this love triangle thing when Evan and Mariana have multiple seasons of history & love & hurt & complex feelings like Joaquin is just not able to evoke that level of emotion in her imo
- I loveeee Evan i'm sorry like he's literally the love of my life and i want to hear his little facts at every party forever
- The premise of the Coterie is so revolutionary because look at how Luca's life has been impacted since he moved in, especially for Callie's help with his green card.
- Awwwww Bailee Madison's cameo (i have no idea who she was on The Fosters 🧍🏾‍♀️)
- Awwwww so Jamie met Callie at the brother's engagement party 🥺 maybe i do need to watch The Fosters
- Awwwwww they displayed an old picture of the kids and Noah C is there 🥺
- Not the Pretty Woman box closing reference 🤣
Ep 19:
- Saying "it's not very sexy" about an app is very out of character for Evan like who wrote that....
- I love the tension that a little bickering can bring into the room 🤭
- This fake musical actually sounds good like maybe they need to make this a real thing actually....
- "I don't think he's ever gonna remember the man that he was" why did my heart just drop to my stomach......endgame is looking very rocky ☹️
- Mariana needs to be more careful omds like why show your face at a search on his property!!!
- Also there's a high chance that Silas has an inside informant who already warned him ahead OR he has exhumed the body already
- Also getting a bit worried about how the show will wrap up its 3 million storylines by the next episode.
- OH MYYY? That flashback was shocking even to me like Evan and Mariana looked so much younger oh wow
- Riley is human so i can't fault her for wanting that openness from him but she needs to remind herself of where Luca is coming from. Like a year ago, he didn't even have a job, home or friends like he's literally rebuilding his life and his person one day at a time.
- The Coterie is an odd place because imagine coming home from a long work day and wanting to just sit in the dining area and eat a meal and now suddenly you pass someone breaking down in tears in the hallway like......
- I KNOW THAT INTRO MELODY OHHHHHHH they're playing Aly & AJ!!!!!
- The parallel of Evan gaining back his memories with Mariana vs her sleeping with Joaquin at the very same time......network tv can be so insidious 😭
11th March 2024
Ep 20:
- What does she mean by "I'm ready to move on?" 🤔🤨
- "Kowtowing to a bunch of elites" loooool this doctor needs to wake up to the REAL world like creative circles tend to be about making connections in order to get opportunities like
- "Jay, you've known me 5 minutes. How could you really know who i am?" OH wow.
- "So, was Riley in class today?" Sister just ask the real question 😭
- Davia: "Two years is a long time"
Dennis: "Not in the scheme of our whole lives together" ohhhhhh he ate this likeeeee come on!
- Mariana is not even considering her professional life like imagine if the news breaks that the co-CEO of Speckulate is running around and trespassing on people's property like....
- 15 minutes left and still no endgame confirmed like i feel very uneasy
- I don't like the way finales always pack a million shocks at once like it's a surprise every minute my goodness like what do you mean they're selling The Coterie ☹️😔
- "They ended up cancelling the sitcom. They just pulled the plug. It's a brutal business" FREEFORM CATCH IT 🤣🤣🤣
- Ohhhhhh Ladle is his girl now 🥺
- Callie acting as Update Central for this last dinner 😭
- Danfo driver mention okay i guess....
- Kelly's mullet is superb like wow
- AHHHHHHHHH WE WONNNNN
- Got my endgame against all odds 🤣🤣🙏🏾‼️
- Awww the little look that Callie gave Joaquin was heartwarming 🫂 i hope he finds his own love eventually
- The final scene....the montage....everyone leaving gradually.....i feel emotionally wrecked.
- I cannot believe this is over. This show has seen me through some of the most life-changing years I have had and it gave me laughter and joy and a (virtual) family and i will miss it so much. I'll also miss livetweeting about it but i'll really miss this group dynamic because the concept of being an adult and living with a bunch of friends like this.....it feels like a dream. I'm glad I got to experience that dream through this show.
