anderperry au where todd asks neil out first hehe
now with a part 2 (neil’s pov)
so
todd knows who neil is but they dont room together
he only knows neil through their numerous classes together and he may have an itsy bitsy crush
neil’s fucking pretty - todd’s known this since the first time he saw him laughing with his group of friends and almost tripped over his feet
luckily no one noticed
anyway neil’s fucking pretty but he’s completely different from todd and wayy out of his league so obviously todd doesnt have a crush
of course then on the second day of classes a teacher asks a question and looks at todd and he panics and neil’s behind him and he must notice because he answers in todd’s stead
and then when todd gets a little lost trying to find where the soccer practice was neil’s the one who finds him and walks him to practice
and neil’s on the team and he’s so fucking hot when he gets competitive and if todd himself wasnt playing todd knows he’d be distracted - luckily having an older brother has ensured that todd is nothing less than fiercely competitive in things he knows he’s good at
that doesnt mean that when practice ends he doesnt hurriedly walk away, pretending he doesnt notice neil approaching, to calm himself down and prepare himself to face post soccer neil
he volunteers to help clean up solely so he doesnt have to see neil
neil doesn't get the hint and stays back to help
todd spends more time doodling neil’s name on his notebook than homework that night and thats when he realizes that his small teeny tiny crush may be not so small nor teeny tiny
and at first todd is very very very determined to ignore it
he stops himself from glancing back at neil or somehow finding him everywhere
he erases all his neil perry themed doodles
but neil doesn’t stop being pretty, the absolute asshole
nor kind nor sweet
and everytime he notices todd is alone (which is always) he comes to sit next to him - he invites him to study with his friends - he answers questions directed at todd in class
honestly he’s a fucking asshole ( theres no way he doesn’t know that he’s gorgeous and sweet and like a dream come alive and there’s no way he’s not using his evil powers to make sure todd thinks about him way more than he should )
and in the end todd’s half in love with him
ignoring his feelings dont work so the only thing todd has is to stop liking him
so he starts watching neil more because surely he cant be completely perfect surely he’ll have one habit that will be something todd hates - maybe he’s a sweater hater
neil is not a sweater hater - and he looks really cute in his stupid sweaters turns out
he’s also actually perfect
he’s kind, friendly, funny - he helps people, he wrinkles his nose when he’s concentrating, he runs his hands through his hair when he’s frustrated
and todd should be furious but now he’s just resigned
the perfect idea actually comes from neil’s friends in the end
todd’s there studying, minding his own business, trying to pretend that neil coming over earlier and asking if he wants to sit with his friends didn’t send his poor poor heart on fire practically
he overhears two of them - charlie and knox he thinks their names are - talking about how one of them (knox) fell in love too quickly and said one of them (knox) replies that actually “i didn’t fall in love with Nancy, Charlie” “yeah because she shot you down before you could”
its genius
todd just has to ask neil out
a tiny part of todd, that he immediately ignores, wonders what it would be like if neil shot him a sweet smile and said “yes i’d love to be your boyfriend”
“woah who’s got you smiling like that?” neil’s voice comes, breaking his neil being hopelessly in not quite love - because todd was not in love - with todd daydreams
neil laughs when todd stares at him wide eyed and points out that he’d left his pen here and that todd had been supporting a very sappy look - in nicer words
todd feels heat rush to his face and he shakes his head denying that he was thinking of anyone neil doesn’t look like he believes him but he nods and todd remembers his new genius plan
ask neil out and get rejected and thus fall out of not quite love with him
todd also ignores the part of his brain that tells him heartbreak is a vicious thing because of course his heart wont break he’s not in love
“H-hey Neil?” Todd asks quietly as Neil moves to go back to his friends.
“Yeah? What’s up?” Neil replies immediately, turning back to face Todd with his bright smile. Todd glances around making sure no one’s looking.
“Um.. this weekend... do you maybe wanna go somewhere...? W-with me, I mean.” Oh, sorry Todd. I already have plans. Maybe you could join my friends and me instead? I’d love to be your friend.
Todd’s waiting for those words to spill out of Neil’s rather kissable looking mouth. For Neil to kindly let him down and state that he only wants to be-
“Y-yeah, I’d love to.” Neil’s smile is blinding and that combined with the pink on his cheeks makes Todd want to reach over and see if his mouth is actually as kissable as it looks. He doesn’t do that. Instead he gapes unattractively because did Neil just agree? Did Neil just-
Oh.
Well that didn’t go as planned.
But Todd can’t bring himself to be disappointed because the small part of Todd that had hoped Neil would like him back is singing. He’s helpless to do anything but smile back at Neil as Neil’s friends call him back and he leaves.
He watches, still not a hundred percent processing that Neil had agreed to go on a date with him, as Neil leans in and whispers something frantically to his friends, his smile still there. His friends whoop and clap him on the back and Charlie catches Todd looking and smirks at him and Todd realizes that Neil must be telling them about their date.
He ducks his head down, wondering if Neil’s friends reaction meant that Neil might have had a bit of a crush on Todd too. And though he can’t understand why he would when he’s so out of Todd’s league, he can’t help but be pleased by it.
Todd stares at his half done math homework and then flips to a clean page in his notebook and starts writing.
He has a date to plan out.
All thoughts of how to get over Neil leave his mind as he debates whether dinner and a movie is too basic. Instead, plans on how to properly woo Neil start to form.
He may be a teeny tiny bit in love.

Hiii! I recently started one of your fics (the anderperry Tumblr au) and I was so sad to see it wasn't finished! I was wondering if you were going to write anymore, I guess. Have a nice day!
this ended up being kind of long lol- so im putting it under a read more, and i have a tl;dr at the end for anyone who wants the broad strokes without the whole backstory :)
hi! first of all, thank u so much for reading, i hope you've been enjoying it! tbh, this is probably something i should have addressed ages ago, so genuinely thank u for reaching out and motivating me to finally talk about this lol. so to be 100% honest, this question is kind of a hard one for me to answer?
dead poets society is a piece of media that means a lot to me and will always be a key piece of me, but it also sort of represents a part of my life that i don't like dwelling on if that makes sense. tbh it's probably obvious that i was going thru a rough patch just by reading some of my earlier dps stuff (neil perry is not okay is... yeah... lol). additionally, dps is something that i associate heavily with someone that's not really a big part of my life anymore, so sometimes it honestly feels wrong to write certain characters without thinking about that. it's also prolly obvious that dps is not really my main special interest anymore and hasn't been for a little while now.
ALL THAT BEING SAID- dead poets society will never not mean the world to me. despite all the mixed feelings i've come to associate with it, i keep rewatching with the film and engaging with content in small ways specifically because i don't want to let my past struggles ruin something i love. even if it's not the main interest of this blog or ao3 account, i'm definitely still fond of it.
but what does all this mean in terms of content? i'm not really sure. one thing is certain- i intend to write for dps again. i actively have been, in fact. ive been working for a while on a long dps fic and am probably around 1/3 done with it, but im holding off on uploading it until it's completely done specifically to avoid leaving people hanging with a WIP. i have absolutely no idea when it'll actually be finished, but i am really excited for u all to read it.
as for the current dps WIPs i have? unfortunately, i don't think i can say they're getting finished :(. we'll kick it when i hit the ground (anderperry tumblr au) and the whole "being dead" thing (ghost neil au) are both still in the very early stages of their stories and sadly i just don't think i have the energy to finish them. i'd be more than happy to talk a bit and summarize what i had originally planned for the stories if anyone would like that, but i think the stories themselves are probably done for now. as for the neil perry is not okay series, another long, full-length fic like there will be light is definitely a no, but i'd say there's a good chance of me writing a one-shot or two at some point.
in general, i'd say other than the big dps fic im working on, expect any future dps fics from me to be short one-shots that are much lighter in tone. probably still some hurt/comfort cause that's my jam, but less of the heavy angst i typically wrote lol.
lastly, i do want to just take a minute to say thank you to everyone who's still reading my dps fics. like i said, a lot of them represent a pretty bad time in my life, but i can never bring myself to hate them or resent them sheerly because of the outpour of love and appreciation they've received from the fandom. even if im slow to reply to comments sometimes, i promise i read every single one and they mean the world to me. while it's hard to think about some of the things i was going thru while writing things like there will be light, those fics provided a safe place and a source of comfort for me to work out my feelings and find solace, and nothing in the world makes me happier than seeing my writing create the same space for other people. from the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone that's even clicked on and glanced at a fic of mine. it means the world to me <3.
while it does make me really sad to say that i likely won't return to some of the writings i put so much love into, im really proud of some of the things ive been working on lately, and i hope you all will enjoy it as well! if not, that's ok too, im eternally grateful to anyone who's gotten something out of any of my past work too.
TL;DR:
unfortunately, any WIPs i had for dps are probably going to remain unfinished. if people would like to hear a summary of what id had planned for the remainder of any of these, id be happy to provide that. while i am taking a break from the dps fandom, i still love dps and would be happy to chat about it with anyone that wants to, and i do intend to return to creating dps content- i just don't know when exactly that will be. thank you from the bottom of my heart to anyone who's enjoyed my content in the past, and im wishing you all the absolute best. carpe diem <3

Writer's Block Cont. (AnderPerry ficlet)
Continuation of Writer's Block
It was a breezy evening downtown and Todd hasn't been at the Coffee Shop since he'd kissed Neil. For obvious reasons, this made the coffee shop barista extremely worried.
"Why the long face?" Charlie asked. He propped himself by the counter beside his brooding friend. Charlie was one of Neil's best friends and the actual manager/owner of the coffee shop (this way he could play his saxophone every Friday night without any objections).
"Todd... He hasn't been here in three days, Charlie, and he's almost always here." Neil buried his face more onto the linoleum counter.
"Oh Todd, ah yes, your big time author-crush-person." Charlie recalls Neil always gushing about him during his break time. He always insisted making all of Todd's orders too. "I mean, today could just be another busy day for him. I'm sure he doesn't necessarily have a reason not to go here." He chuckled.
Neil fell silent.
"... Neiiiilll? What did you do?" Charlie glares at his direction. "Why do you think Todd Anderson wouldn't go here for three days straight?"
Neil fiddled with his thumbs. "I-- I may have... maybe- uh... k-kissed him last weekend."
"YOU WHAT?!" Charlie blurted out, alarming some of the customers and their other barista, Meeks. Unlike Charlie, Meeks was already aware of this situation but he didn't exactly want to stop making his latte art at the moment.
"SHHHH, pipe it down, Charlie- I... Okay, so the other day uh..." Neil huffed before pulling Charlie into the back office to talk more privately-- naturally leaving Meeks in charge.
"Details, Perry, I. NEED. DETAILS." Charlie shook Neil by his shoulders.
"Okay, okay! I'm getting to it-" Neil rattled Charlie off of him. "So- The other day when I was closing up shop for you, Todd was the only one left and- well, long story short- He needed kissing experience for his book and I gave it to him and now I think it was a mistake and he is most likely avoiding me." Neil buried his face into his hands this time. He whined as Charlie comforts him with a pat on his slouched back.
"Neil- Come on! I'm sure he's just shy and all. Hey maybe you gave him the wrong phone number- remember that time when you sent me the wrong one-"
"OH MY GOD-- THAT'S IT-" Neil face-palmed.
"What?"
"I FORGOT TO GIVE HIM MY NUMBER--" Neil sounded both relieved and hysterical. "Of course he wouldn't just come back here- He couldn't just... talk to me in person after what I did- and- and..." Neil sunk to the floor.
Charlie looked down at his distraught friend. "Who am I kidding, Charlie... I ruined it... The one time I got to meet my favorite author and I blew it by kissing him."
"You sure that's blowing it? I'd say it was the best thing you could possibly get from any famous-person-interaction." Charlie smiled, trying to pick up Neil from the ground.
"Just let me die in peace." Neil says to the cold floor. "That kiss might've been the first and last time I ever got to know Todd Anderson in person and I didn't even ask about his other books. He probably thinks I'm just a floozy."
Just as Charlie was about to complain about Neil's focus on Todd's writing than Todd's kiss, someone knocks on the door.
Meeks opens the door to see Neil lifting his head from the floor with tears in his eyes while Charlie is grabbing his arm.
"Uh.. Neil, there's a guy looking for you. He said his name's Todd Ander-"
Neil instantly perks up and immediately bolts to the counter.
When Neil arrives by the cash register, he sees the same dark-blonde author he kissed mere days ago. Todd had eye bags yet his expression was one of breathless excitement. Still beautiful to Neil's eyes.
"T-Todd..." Neil greeted him.
"Neil... When... When do you get off work?" Todd asked fervently yet it was polite to Neil's eyes. "I... I need to talk to you about something."
Just as Neil was about to say 'Around 10pm' Charlie appears from behind him.
"Thank you for your work, Mr. Perry! I see you're done with your shift for the day! I'll see you tomorrow!" Charlie beamed, making quick eye contact with both Neil and Todd. Neil picked up on what Charlie implied and immediately took off his apron.
After a short while, Todd guided Neil to his car parked right outside the coffee shop. "D-Do you mind going with me to my apartment?"
It was a non-question for Neil. As much as he wanted to scream from the rooftops and YAWP in excitement, he kept his composure and followed Todd. "Sure, I'd love to."
The drive to Todd's apartment was silent and short. Todd lived incredibly close to the coffee shop and this fact made Neil grow even more fanboy-y. Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god.
He wanted to respect Todd's privacy so he purposefully didn't take note of the floor number or the apartment number before he entered Todd's home. (In turn, he kept his eyes on Todd the whole time).
As they entered the apartment, Neil could only stare at how neat Todd's living space was. It wasn't exactly neat as it was mostly barren. The most "decoration" you could find was Todd's various bookshelves. A good portion of the area was his own books while the rest were a plethora of Classics and collections of multiple pieces of literature. Todd was a well-read author after all.
"D-did you want anything to drink? Unfortunately the coffee I have here isn't as good as the ones you make so-"
"Wait, Todd... I'm- I'm sorry for what I did... If I made you feel uncomfortable. I- I was worried the past few days-"
"Huh, What- You're sorry?" Todd, bewildered by Neil's apology, let out a chuckle. "Neil, if anything, you helped me, remember?"
Neil looked at him with an intrigued look.
Just then, Todd took Neil's hand and led him to his office. Unlike his perfectly neat living room and kitchen area, Todd's office was a chaotic room full of papers and notebooks. In the back part facing away from the windows was a desk with a computer, multiple stacks of papers (and paper balls), and emptied out paper cups marked on the inside with coffee stains.
"Our little uh- field research actually got me out of my writer's block and I've been writing my book like crazy for the past three days." Todd confessed. "I'm basically almost done with it."
"Wait- Three days?" Neil wheezed. He didn't think Todd could get even more impressive than he already was. "My kiss got you to finish your newest book in three days?!"
"Well... yeah-" Todd scratched the back of his head in humility. "Can't say I've ever done that before. It'll need a shitload of editing and proof reading perhaps, but it's mostly done. Thanks to you."
Neil didn't know how to respond to Todd's words. Neil's favorite author, the person he's been following for several years now, was inspired by his kiss, and finished an entire book in THREE DAYS.
"Todd- I... F-from my kiss?"
"Yes. Well of course it was also the caffeine, but yeah mostly your kiss. I just wanted to personally thank you for getting me through one of my toughest works yet." Todd sat by his desk, pulling up some of the papers he already printed.
Neil walked up to his side, staring at the tentative manuscript- one Todd's editor has yet to even see. (Cameron was not gonna have an easy time).
"Did you want to read it?" Todd asked, instantly making Neil swoon.
"Todd, you're gonna kill me- OF COURSE I'D LOVE TO READ IT-" Neil gushed, looking at both the papers and a blushing Todd.
Neil held the loosely bound papers in his hands, then back at Todd who looked incredibly proud of himself and yet still very reserved.
Neil couldn't tell if he was looking at Todd as an author anymore by how close he was this time. Their arms were brushing against each other, the sound and smell of papers filled the room, Todd was so close.
Neil carefully places the manuscript down by the table. "Before I read it... do you mind if... If I asked you something?"
Todd blinked a couple of times before nodding. "S-sure."
"Do... Do you think it's weird that I... kissed you? I know I said I was helping you for research but... I think a part of me did it because I really liked you. And I'm not sure if it's because I really admire you for your work or if I think you were as beautiful that night as you are now."
Todd looked at him, flustered and speechless. "Y-you sure do know exactly what you want to say..."
"Yeah- I'm sorry."
"And I'm envious of that." Todd responded. Not that Neil needed another reason to gush, but Todd being envious of him is another strike for Neil's humility.
"Usually, when I write my books-- the surrealist ones, they're usually the ones so weird and detached from reality, I usually didn't need to put myself into the protagonists' shoes. But with this book, a book where it's a journey of romance and discovery, I didn't think I'd ever find the right words to describe how the character felt, let alone myself."
"So my kiss gave you existential clarity?" Neil chuckled softly.
"For a short while, yes. I'm all out of it, currently. It's been a draining past few days." Todd leaned back by his office chair.
Neil smirked at him with allurement. "I mean, I'm here. I wouldn't mind giving you a refresher."
Todd raised his eyes at him, blushing even more. "I-"
"I'm just kidding- relax. I'll only kiss you when you want me to. If you ever need anymore field research, that is. I wouldn't mind being your primary source."
Todd bit his lip, gazing upon Neil as he sat over his desk nonchalantly.
"W-what if... say, I wanted a kiss for other reasons?" Todd's voice was like a mumble.
"Excuse me?" Neil felt like he was playing the most intense game of chess with their interaction.
"Like, what if- I thought you looked really handsome right now and I wanted to kiss you, is that a good enough reason to ask for a kiss?"
Neil was enthralled by this interaction. Was it Todd being forward? Or was it his lack of sleep making him this way.
"I... Yes... That's a great reason, actually."
"So... to answer your question earlier: I didn't think it's weird that you kissed me because, right now, another kiss wouldn't seem to bad. And this time, I won't need it for a book."
Todd stood up to meet Neil at eye level, catching him by surprise.
"You're still gonna have to credit me for that book- do you know about royalties-" Neil joked before Todd planted a kiss on him.
Their second kiss was full of small bits of laughter before it turned into something more. It was no longer about Todd's lack of experience or motivation to write, nor was it Neil's admiration as a fan anymore. It was in their second kiss they realized the person they were kissing would be someone to rid them of their woes and inspire them for the rest of their lives.
Aside from that, Todd's career as an author had a new component to it, the skill to garner inspiration in the form of kisses from Neil Perry.

for the au prompts could you possibly do anderperry with 7? thank you!!
you got it!! this is a fake relationship au where the boys of dps (minus Todd) are desperately trying to find Neil a date for his sister’s wedding, which is rounding the corner in two weeks. Coming in with words, here’s “Yes, I’m Falling In Love With Someone, Plain to See”, based off of “I Turned the Corner/I’m Falling in Love With Someone” from Thoroughly Modern Millie.
“Sooo,” Natalia said, plopping down on Neil’s bed. “Are you bringing someone to the wedding?”
“Like…a date?” Neil asked tentatively, typing furiously on his computer. He just had to churn out a few more words for Latin and then he was finished.
“Could be.” Natalia shrugged, grabbing an Oreo from Neil’s stash. “Or just a friend. You know I love when you bring your friends over. They’re so much fun. Plus, Pitts makes a mean salsa.”
“It’s fine.” Neil sighed. “I won’t have to bring them.” Natalia’s face lit up.
“You have a boyfriend?!” She exclaimed.
“What? I-” Neil looked at Natalia with wild eyes. “Ye-yeah! Yeah, I do, Nat.”
“Neil James Perry! And you didn’t tell me? Lunacy!” She cried. “Tell me all about him.”
“Well, he’s really nice, he’s very funny, and he almost gets as good a’ grades as me.” Neil smiled nervously.
“Gosh, I can’t wait to meet him.” Natalia fawned, grabbing another cookie. “Bring him over for dinner sometime.”
“Guys,” Neil said, the next day at lunch. “I did something horrible.”
“What now?” Meeks laughed, unpacking his sandwich from his lunch box.
“I told Nat that my date to her wedding was my boyfriend.”
“You don’t have a boyfriend.” Knox said, confusion passing over his face.
“Exactly.”
“You lied? To Nat?!” Meeks exclaimed, his eyes almost bugging out of his head.
“I knoooow,” Neil groaned. “What am I gonna do?”
Charlie waltzed over to the table, tossing an apple between his hands, and sliding into his seat next to Knox and across from Neil in one smooth motion.
“Good day, gentlemen.” Charlie said, tipping an imaginary hat.
“Charlie! I need your help.” Neil practically shouted.
“What else is new?” Charlie laughed. “Alright, what’s it this time?”
“I told Nat that my date to her wedding is my boyfriend. And I don’t have one. I need someone to I don’t know, fake-date till her wedding, and then fake-break up with afterwards.”
“Sounds like you solved your own problem.” Charlie said, biting into his apple.
“No! Do you have absolutely anyone in mind, anyone at all?” Neil pleaded.
“Maybe one person.”
“Anderson, you’d love him. He’s handsome, he’s intelligent, he plays tennis with me and the boys and he’s damn good, he’s a softie, Anderson, goddamnit, he writes poetry from Chrissake!”
“Poetry?” Todd scoffed. “Don’t you write poetry?”
“Can it, Anderson. Besides, can you imagine it? You both get dressed up in nice suits, have good food, bust it down on the dance floor for a couple hours, then you never have to see this kid again, yeah? Plus fifty bucks.”
“I’ll think about it.”
“Not too hard.” Todd hung up the phone.
And he’ll be damned if he wasn’t going to spend a nice evening with this handsome, intelligent, poetry-writing boy Charlie described.
Todd strolled into the tennis courts the next night, just as practice ended.
“Anderson!” Charlie called, waving him over to court two, where a few boys Todd recognized stood with Charlie, and a couple he didn’t. “Hey, Todd. So, you thought about it?”
“Yeah. And I think it’s an alright deal.” Charlie stuck out his hand for Todd to shake, and he happily obliged.
“This,” Charlie pushed a lanky, tall, brunette boy in front of him. His face was sculpted like a Greek god’s. “Is Neil Perry. Your date.”
Knox let out a low whistle.
“Todd, right?” Knox asked. He leaned over to Neil, speaking quietly into his ear, “If you don’t scoop up that fine piece of ass I just might.” He smirked. Todd still heard.
“Sorry, Overstreet.” Todd boldly grabbed Neil’s hand. “I’m a taken man.”
After a few whirlwind days of Neil being stressed and having homework up the wazoo, the two finally found a time to hang out, and set boundaries for the party.
“One kiss.” Todd insisted. “Even if it’s just a peck on the cheek. You want this to be believable?”
“Fine.” Neil huffed, scribbling down ‘kiss on cheek’. “But, you’re required to come to one family dinner. One grilling. Just so they get a feel for you.”
“That’s fine.” They went through the list, and afterwards, Todd drove Neil home, and walked him to the front door. As Neil slid his key in, the front door swung open, revealing Natalia.
“This is the boyfriend!” She squealed.
“This is the sister!” Todd cried with equal enthusiasm. Natalia gathered Todd in a big hug, patting him on the back. Natalia usheredd the two inside, and when Todd’s back was turned, his eyes wandering around the house, Natalia mouthed a sneaky ‘he’s cute!’ to Neil, who smirked, and gave Natalia a knowing look.
“My brother has told me literally nothing about you. It’s ridiculous. So, why don’t you? Now that you’re here, in person.”
“Well,” Todd started. “I run the student newspaper at Charles, I’m a delegate for Model UN, I also take photos for yearbook, and I’m apart of the sound crew for Charles’s theater department.”
“Ah, so you don’t go to Welton.” Natalia stated. “How’d you two meet?”
“Charlie.” They said in unison.
“I mean-” Neil stammered. “Charlie brought him to tennis practice one day! They were doing something after school, and we exchanged numbers, and we’ve just been together ever since.” Neil said, running a hand through his hair nervously.
“Yeah,” Todd agreed, almost too soon. “He came to our choir concert a few week ago, didn’t you, Neil?”
Neil just nodded in agreement.
“I better head out.” Todd said, a few hours later.
“I’ll see you out.” Neil said, walking him to the door. Natalia was curled up on a chair in the dining area, just off the side of the foyer.
Todd gathered a part of Neil’s sweater in his fingers and dragged him forward, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. Todd left in one swift motion, leaving Neil stunned in front of the door, his fingers grazing his lips.
“He’s nice.” Natalia said, leaning against the archway into the dining room, smirking.
“Shut the hell up, Nat.” Neil retorted, making his way upstairs.
Weeks, and many “dates” later, the two had bonded together enough that the Society forgot they weren’t actually a couple.
“How’re things going with Todd? You two seem happy together.” Knox said, serving to Neil, across the court. They talked as they warmed up, hitting easy shots straight up the middle.
“Things are fine.”
“You guys fuck yet?” Knox laughed.
“What? Knox, he’s not my boyfriend.”
“Shit,” Knox said, missing an easy forehand. “You’re not? You two are constantly holding hands and talking and blushing around each other…wait, you’re sure you’re not together?”
“Yes, Knox.”
“Wow.” Knox shrugged. “Maybe you two should consider it.”
“Maybe we should.”
The two stood in front of Neil’s mirror, dressed in matching tuxes, and smiling at each other.
“Hey…I was thinking, maybe, maybe after the wedding we could maybe not break things off?” Todd adjusted his bowtie, and looked over to Neil.
“Sure! We can stay friends.”
“Maybe not friends…maybe for real this time.” Neil said, smiling tentatively. Todd returned the smile, sheepishly.
“Yeah, sure.” Todd grabbed Neil’s hand, and the two carried on.

Modern Fem Au
-Niels name would be Nielia or smth like that -Todds name would be Tara or smth idk -Charlie would be the same (Charlie is nonbianary as well) -Meeks would be named Stephanie -Pitts would be Geraldine -Pitts and Meeks are still called by their last names tho bc why not -Knox still likes to be called Knox -Cameron is called Rita (I guess) -Neilia is diagnosed with ADHD and her parents tell her to s i t t h e f u c k d o w n and be a “lady” but she c a n t - At the beginning of the year all cell phones have to be turned in and since Charlie’s parents get them so many gifts to “make up” for the neglect they give out devices to their friends -Neilia’ s parents are also incredibly controlling and want her to marry some dude bc they want grand kids. They’re okay with her becoming a doctor or something like that, but they’d rather her marry someone instead -Nelia wants to act and sing and write music instead -Mrs. Keating is lit (and gay: language was created to woo women) -Instead of old white men (but Whalt is still used) Keating teaches them bad ass women poets and the school gets pissed -Keating is still all about free thinking and becoming your own person -The school is pretty old fashioned, so the administration told Mrs. Keating not to say anything about her wife -The girls classes consist of math, science language English and mainly home ec kind of stuff - The dead poets don’t really enjoy it that much tho -Instead of wearing the school designated skirts, Charlie wears pants instead and gets in trouble with Mrs. Nolan all. The. Time. -In the “no” scene Tara and Neilia fall and their faces are so close together they could kiss but don’t bc the other girls in the hallway start coming in -Even though Neilia is p good at writing, Tara is incredible. Like Neilia literally fell head over heels for Tara when she whipped that poem from nowhere -Every poem Neilia writes for Keating is about Tara -Knox is still straight in love with Chris and tries to get him away from his gf (or bf male au Chris could be bi) -Theres some local musical Nelia wants to do - Charlie brings boys to the cave and the girls (except Cameron) don’t really care -I mean Meeks is jealous af and in an inbetween scene you can hear Charlie apologize to Meeks over and over telling her that she’s the only one for them -Anderperry is cannon -Their first (and only) kiss happens after the flying desk set scene -Everyone in the DPS are super chill with is (as meeks and Charlie are dating) Cameron isn’t cool with it but she doesn’t say anything -We get more backstory with Tara- how her parents prefer her sister over her and they see her as worthless but Neilia makes her feel like she’s worth something -Mr. And Mrs. Perry hear about the musical and tells Neilia to drop it and after school she’s marrying some dude -Of course she’s in love with Tara so she freaks out -She tells Mrs. Keating about everything; the musical, the dude, Tara and Mrs. Keating tells her to tell her parents how she feels about the musical, and try to wiggle her way out of marriage by saying that she needs a few years to get to even know him -Neilia actually takes her advice, but her parents don’t care but she’ll be dammed if she doesn’t do this musical -She does the musical and of course her parents show up. - As they’re pulling her out of the theatre Tara’ s band brushes hers and her eyes communicate nothing but worry and fear but of course Neilia reassures her - Charlie is LITTERALLY about to fight the Perry’s -We get a shot of Neilia’ s diaries seeing that she’s considered thos before -Neilia writes Tara a note hoping her parents will be kind enough to give it to her. They don’t -Afer her death, Tara takes Neilia’ s sweater she left and wears it all the time even if she’s dress coded for it -She writes so many poems for her and puts them on her grave -She breaks down and Mrs. Keating tries to calm her for hours with no success -Tara shuts down after Keating leaves, not even Charlie can bring her back (Charlie sneaks on campus every weekend) -When the Perry’s came to collect Nelias things the DPS (minis Cameron) were in Tara and Neils room and Tara litterally lunged at them -“Where are her final words?! She wouldn’t leave without telling us anything! What did you do to them?!” The girls have to pull her back and apologize (halfheartedly and not meaning it of course) - Charlie was on the outside of the campus and spat at the Perry’s as they left - At night she cuddles the pillow like they used to so, two bodies too big for one bed, limbs intertwined and breaks down crying -She wails so loud that Meeks, Pitts, Knox and even Cameron try their best to keep her quiet - The school does not give a shit about the way the girls feel -Tara got demerits for not being able to get out of bed for a week -Meeks got in trouble for sneaking food up to Tara so she didn’t starve -Pitts can no longer focus and is failing all his classes -Knox cries in every class and gets detention -Camerons grades are fine, just her emotions are out of whack -She tries her best to make it somewhat right and the girls appreciate her -Even though Meeks is strong throughout the day, she cries until the early hours with no one to hold her -Tara keeps the book and re reads the poems over and over again for memories
