i have made a FAT BUG

he is a little taller than an american girl doll and about four times as chonky

he was going to be for john to help cheer him up, but then john went and showed himself to be Unworthy Of Handknits, so i am seeking a home for him

he is 100% acrylic and polyfill, surface wash only, the safety eyes *should* stay on but please do not give to a child under 3 anyway

willing to mail if you pay shipping, however i do not have an estimate of what shipping would cost at the moment

Hi there! No, the pattern isn't of my own design, but it was really fun to knit! The pattern is called Roland from the book Huge & Huggable Mochimochi by Anna Hrachovec. It is available in paper copy or as an ebook!

I hope that everyone who loves him considers taking up knitting as a hobby - it is incredibly rewarding, and you can make giant bugs!! :)

Hi! The book is called "Huge & huggable mochimochi", writer Anna Hrachovec. Bug son pattern is called Roland the roly-poly!

There is a counting mistake in one section of the pattern, but the correction can be found here:

I bought it as an ebook bc my city's library didn't have that book anymore, since it is 10 years old, but it was available as an ebook in many different ebook services!

(also a tip for stuffing: i didnt wanna buy expensive stuffing, so i got the stuffing by buying a cotton wool stuffed pillow from a thrift shop and ripping it up!)

The pattern is Roland from the book Huge & Huggable Mochimochi by Anna Hrachovec. There are multiple places you can purchase the book, either in print or digital. Unfortunately, the pattern is only available as part of the book and not sold as an individual pattern.

This pattern is only written for knitting, so there is not an exact crochet version of him by the same designer. I'm sure there are some similar ones out there if you look for them! This one is not quite the same type of bug, but it inspires a similar feeling for me (and I do so desire to make one someday)!
