I may as well inquire about my favorite Scion, Urianger.

At first Aïcha avoided him. Not because she had anything against him, but one would reasonably think that between her decent grasp of Common and her Echo, understanding an Eorzean shouldn't be difficult. One, in this case, would be extremely wrong.

Every time she had to interact with him in the beginning, she looked at him like a deer in headlights, desperately hoping someone would translate for her (usually someone would indeed graciously reformulate for her benefit).

Once she finally started to figure out on her own what he meant to say though, it became a lot easier.

The prospect of doing research for fun eludes her entirely and why so many Scions seem to find it entertaining is a mystery for the ages. But she respects him, she respects his knowledge and she respects his commitment to the betterment of the star. His pragmatic side, despite the fact that being lied to pissed her off every time, is something she actually appreciates about him. She might not trust him to always be truthful, but she trusts him to do whatever he's doing for the right reasons.

And Aïcha's self-aware enough to know that it's a lot more than what she can say about herself, so she's not about to start throwing shade his way.

After Heavensward however, she insisted about having some sort of signal between them so at least she'd know to just trust him when he was acting weird, and that he'd explain when he could. They didn't grow close enough for it to stick unfortunately, so he still lied to her in the First.

Considering that because of the consequences of her own actions, she couldn't help Inge taking in the light, she was honestly more angry at herself than she was at Urianger or the Exarch for putting her friend in this situation. But the fact that he lied again stung nonetheless.

They eventually both grew as a person enough by Endwalker to have such a system in place, and he used it with the Loporrits, and she trusted him. It's, I feel, the true turning point of their relationship.

It's a strange friendship, all in all. She shouldn't trust him, but in a way she understands him better than most, and once he understood that, Urianger finally understood her. And he didn't judge, didn't look away and didn't look down, which is something that no matter how many times she's saved the star, Aïcha doesn't take for granted.

And he understands the weight of the leash he holds, figuratively speaking. Because if he comes to her, tells her he needs her help but can't explain why and that it'll hurt some people, her answer will basically be "do we ride there or take the aetheryte?"

I am also so so so very excited for Imane's season but I cannot shake the feeling of unease I have cause this is set in France and France has such an awful history of Islamophobia and it's ingrained in their society and I'm just ! NERVOUS ! Norway is more kinder than France too. Directorial nuggets

Vrijdag 21:53 part 2:

As Aïcha leaves, Yasmina is found alone with a bright red backdrop behind her. She had voiced her decision clear to Aïcha that she will not follow her. The red colour in the Moroccan flag stands for hardiness, bravery, strength and valour and this is exactly what Yasmina has just shown. But then look where she is seeking all the traits above, who she asks to give them to her.

The one above her, her God. If that is not the strongest visual during this episode I don’t know what is. It almost brings tears to my eyes because it shows Yasmina emotionally vulnerable in front of her God.

As Yasmina proceeds to sit at the bus stop, visually exhausted, the music starts playing and pay attention to the lyrics:

Let me stay

When the world is gone

Promise I’ll behave

Yasmina talking to her God.

Yasmina is reading Pride and Prejudice and the symbolism is right there in the title. A book about preconceived notions and biases and how they are in the way of love. How accepting the goodness in each other is the answer.

Yasmina at this point has been judged, tested, challenged, contrasted, tempted, isolated by every single person around her. Her friends, her Muslim community, her family, society in general. Everyone but one. Younes was the only mirror image of her so far. She now sits alone drowned in the red light of strength. She stood strong on her feet during the first week of Ramadan and for now she accomplished her purpose. But how will that isolation affect her in the future?

some thoughts about Donderdag 11:02, 11:21 (ep. 9, clips 7-8):

you can only laugh at this point. i mean these clips should come with additional warnings for the rest of us, but just when you thought this long summertime nightmare was over and it couldn't get any worse, we once again are continuing with the BA storyline?!

this time of course our plucky heroine yasmina rallies to help sad, cash-strapped amber by selling her ibiza ticket to helena (who isn't the least bit sorry for what she said) and thus getting amber her precious €€ back.

i mean it's like the show is saying not only should you apologize to your racist aggressors, place the feelings and emotions of your hurt white friends above your own, but now you have to interact with the racists who hurt you for the sake of your friends, and you have to engage in acts of service for said white friend who physically assaulted you a week ago?

when we could have had a week of aïcha, elias, the ait omars, and younes?! i mean seriously, you have to ask, whose season really is this? and which audience was this made for? when at the end of the day, it'll be hard for the audience to separate the take away messages from this vs. right-wing propaganda, then there's your answer.

It hurts my heart to see what Yasmina is going through. I don't feel well and the beautiful gifs showing her crying don't help. The clips of today I don't have the words already when she answered little to Younes and Aïcha when they asked them if she was ok and then when she completely fell in tears in the arms of Luca. It hurts to see this girl who deserves to be happy in this state, it hurts to see that her self-confidence has dropped, it hurts to see that she thinks she was stupid to have fallen naively in love with Younes... all the emotions that are released. I saw people talking about younes inviting Aicha and I mean yeah he talked about the premiere but it was pretty much Aicha who invited herself 😂 also how come we see that he’s typing but they didn’t show us what he wrote next? Could it be that he proceeded to talk about yasmina and that’s why they left us with her answer? So we’re gonna think that he’s going out with her while something else is gonna happen? I don’t know what to think, everything is a bit weird!

I'll answer these only for the ones concerned.

Names :

Destiny and Leïla were a bit self-conscious about their name when they were younger, especially Leïla in France, she was always seen as "the arab muslim girl" and she hated being treated differently. That changed though when her parents died, with grief, she also learned how to be more confident with her roots and her inheritance.

Destiny always wondered the meaning of her name but she kind of figured it out when her dad kept saying her that it was her destiny to save the world so ... She would have love a more "regular" name but she just doesn't want to admit that she likes to be unique.

Aïssa, on her side, was called Jalil for a long time. Now that she transitionned, she chose her name so she's super proud of it. Aïssa is closed to the arabic name Aïcha which means alive.

Kids : Surprising but Chester already knows that he wants 3 kids and have already names for them : Eli, Ismael and Ari (though he'd like to have daughters)

The other characters didn't really think about that yet. Denise and Halette talked about it but they're not ready yet and they don't know if they want to adopt or else ...

Assa Aïcha Sylla answers fan questions about Skamfr in her Insta story, November 3, 2018.

Basic translations: 

1) There will be a lot of differences in Skamfr seasons 3 and 4 (compared to the original Skam), especially in season 4.

2) Seasons 3 and 4 will have ten episodes (I’m assuming each). 

3) She doesn’t know the exact release date for season 3, but it will be sometime in February (and she tagged Lucas’s actor). 

4) Before she was cast, she didn’t watch original Skam and didn’t really know about it. But then she watched all four seasons and she loved it. 

5) She can’t tell us anything about French!Yousef but hints that we’ll find out more information about him soon.

6) She would never accept a role that went against her principles or her religion, because staying true to herself is more important than anything.

Do they repair their clothes and furniture themselves? For Aïche

She can mend her clothing just fine. Her armor, though, not so much. That's a bit too technical and asking for more tools than she travels with. But as long as it's made of fabrics, she can mend it or transform it into something else if the piece isn't usable for its primary purpose anymore.

Joining the weavers guild doesn't interest her in the slightest, but she grew up poor. She's learned to make the best of what she had and make it last as long as she could.

As for the furniture, she's about as good as your random person I'd say? She can fix simple things. For more challenging repairs, she either commission an artisan or change it entirely, depending on its state. Though, at the moment, she doesn't really have a place to call home so it's not really a problem in her life x)

20. Has your OC ever done something terrible and lied about it? Did they run away or blame someone else for it? How long did they maintain the lie and did the truth ever come out?

(I'd like to hear it for all but if it's too much pick ones you'd consider most juicy!)

She used to work for a criminal organization in Thavnair. Her job was to 'fix' mistakes, usually by killing the witnesses/rivals, and that's—in theory—what she did the last time she took a job for them.

The kid was barely thirteen.

She's not even sure to this day that he was truly the one she should have killed, but her boss was really nervous and kept pressuring her, and she didn't have much time to reach him before his parents would return so she did it.

And it broke her.

A few days after that, she got rid of the entire group, sent her father away on the New Continent where she knew he'd be safe, slipped away to Eorzea and tried to fly under the radar. It eventually led to her becoming the Warrior of Light, and the guilt of all she had done—but mostly this murder—explains in good part why she let the Scions and Alphinaud boss her around as much as she did. The Bloody Banquet was a wake up call in this regard, really.

That's also more or less when she cracked and spilled the beans to Haurchefant. She's still amazed to this day that he offered her protection soon after learning that, because she's not sure many others would have done. Even for her, even after all she had done for Eorzea up to that point.

Since then, she's told the truth to Inge and Estinien. The others Scions don't know for the kid, though they know about her activities prior to her adventuring career.

And no, she never blamed anyone for that but herself. It felt too much like disrespecting the memory of that kid to pretend she couldn't have acted differently.

At one point we were so sure that we'll get a birthday video and even you were like I'm sure the video is happening.but then Nothing. So what if this big subplot that has been a topic doesn't actually exist? The anon who often goes off saying Sobbe will appear for a few seconds really makes me doubt about the existence of a substantial Sobbe subplot tbh.☹️

Oh the birthday video is indeed the biggest face crack of the century for all of us but that has to do with their social media strategy and we know where we stand with that. In the absolute void.

The subplot was never meant to be big. As it wasn’t that big in the OG either. As I said regarding the subplot they will probably come at play with the hate accounts. Now will there be any further subplot I am afraid I don’t have a factual answer to that. But definitely Aïcha not mentioning her second bother’s name is interesting. We haven’t seen that girl for sometime now. I think episode 4,5 onwards we will start exploring that part of the story that might be connected to a secondary Sobbe plot. That combined with the fact that some people say that they have been seen around the kots filming makes me believe that might be somehow connected. As I said maybe not necessarily as Sander and Younes being roommates but as an indirect connection through Aïcha’s brother. But again huge part of this is a theory and unconfirmed spoilers and not a fact. We just have to wait for the story to move away from Yasmina’s house. And the fact that Younes is not allowed there now seems like a good starting point.

I think we will have an indication if there will be anything more as we peel Younes’ layers. We don’t even know much about our main guy this season yet and he is the romantic lead of the season. Remember guys wtfock has an issue with pacing. We have long unnecessarily dragged out weeks at first and then boom everything hits the fan together.
