hey! are you an artist-type that likes new jersey hardcore darlings thursday? have you had their new song on loop for the past several days? do you wanna make a lyric zine with me? sweet! here's how you can do that!!
-sign-ups will be up through april 22nd or until all slots are filled--there are max 15 slots just due to how many lyrics there are.
-no hard deadline for zine pieces yet, but i'm tentatively thinking mid-june?
-the zine will be formatted as a cohesive lyric zine, so everyone will get a different section of lyrics to work with. the sign-up form has a section for you to say what lyrics youre interested in working with, and i'm gonna do my best to give folks something they're interested in. BUT if you feel like you could ONLY work with a certain set of lyrics, this may not be the ideal project for you.
-any kind of art is ok, as long as it could be printed on a page of a zine!
-for the most part this will be first come first serve, in terms of signups! i dont plan to reject people really unless i run out of room so!!
if youre interested, sign up here!!!!

ok if i was gonna do a collab zine for application for release from the dream. i have two thoughts. number 1 is less structured anyone just makes a page related to the song like whatever they feel like doing. number 2 would be more structured and ppl could take a different section of lyrics to make a page about so it coheres as a lyric zine. what do we think.
reblog so other folks can see if u want idk . also sorry in advance if i end up not actually having the time and energy to do this my brain is a fuck and im moving in a month so whooooo knows!

"Application for Release from the Dream" feels like a continuation of A City By the Light Divided. The album ends still in that space of "we're all gonna die, it's only a matter of time," very dark, very traumatized, waiting for death. The song feels like it's dealing with those same themes but after years of healing. It's still "we're all gonna die," but with a lot more passion for life, understanding that we need to try to keep going despite that and despite the near-death experiences.
I keep listening to them back-to-back and feeling like it really fits with the album - in the same way that my favorite thing about The Black Parade as a teenager was that it ended with "Famous Last Words" after all that darkness. It feels like growing up, healing, and understanding.
