🌆 given you handed me something I hand you BobbySindren or JokerApril, getting to yours soon when I can

Bobby and Sindren are both high-energy people with a love of fun and action. I can see Bobby taking her to an indoor adult playground; one that has rock climbing, paintball, and even an obstacle course for them to tackle! He'd probably arrange to go on a night when there is a DJ, too, so that he can show off some of his dance moves to her.

Now, knowing April's love of plants, Joker would be silly to pass up a chance to take her to the botanical gardens. She would enjoy hearing all about the flowers and plants that they see, and I'm sure April would love to tell her everything she knew. If there just happens to be a little hole in the wall club nearby where they could hear some up-and-coming band before they get big, that'd be even cooler.

Pspsps let me drop some dumb headcanons to some of our ships

Kome x Tomi Grey

-For one I feel Kome would often stop by when she feels sick of her dorm leader, maybe read a book in Octavinelle, play chess with someone online and as she noticed Tomi she for sure already got kinda a small heartbeat that increased… she is a girl that falls quickly

-Anyone that insults her or is mean to her likely gets a small punch, Kome does not hesitate to put people in their place

-however given she is often very sick it may also good for Tomi to watch out if Kome coughs too much if she needs some medication or so she can lean onto her, maybe Carry her

Zelda x April

-April and Zelda often spend time exchanging over Fashion, April showing her flower language or April complaining about her big brother Julian

-The first time she gave herself vulnerable and showed her scars I imagine Zelda quickly make her feel comforted, might even tickle those scars to make her laugh again, something that made April far less insecure

-They could be the type to have matching styles combined with flowers accessoires

-At first April being a Demon worried that she might never get a pretty girlfriend so being slowly assured of her eye, her looks and her heritage… she will slowly grow more open

Juvia x Mellow

-I feel there was at least one moment where Mellow transformed into a monster ran into the woods and she just comforted him to calm down with words and actions… putting a hand on his head before his third eye before her turned back calmed down and cried

-He has tons of sketches of her smiling but too shy to share them so as she came by his room once seeings some of them she that day was even more happier

-Mellow tries his hardest to stand up for her and get more confident but most of the time she is just sweet to him and bursts up like a tomato and hides his face

Zelda x April

okay 1: i had so much fun drawing them, they’re SO cute. Zelda would do everything she can to make April know how pretty and loved she is! Zelda puts extra flowers in her hair so that she can pick em out and gently put them in April’s hair. Zelda would use her new knowledge of flower language from April for her botany hobby and surprise April with her favorite flowers! Zelda loves all of April’s scars and does everything in her power to comfort April. RAHH THEY’RE SO CUTE AND IN LOVE‼️‼️‼️

Juvia x Mellow

I have SUCH a soft spot for them. They never fail to make me smile. Juvia’s heart would break seeing Mellow crying over transforming but she would assure him that she loves him no matter what!! She loves her little monster bf!! I can see these two as “S..she asked for no pickles!! please..” and Juvia just laughs and holds onto his arm bcs he’s so cute 😭😭😭 Which reminds me!! i think Juvia has a habit of holding onto Mellow’s arm a lot! like a sign of affection that they’re both fully comfortable with. Juvia loves all of Mellow’s sketches of her and uh,,don’t tell anyone but,,Juvia definitely has sketches of Mellow too 😈

Carol had been ready for trouble when Juniper had asked for her help. She had even brought her ruler along, just in case. In the few mixed-grade classes where they had been together, Carol had noticed the coyote girl dozing off, or staring out of the window instead of paying attention. She wasn't looking forward to having to keep the energetic Juniper on task.

When she arrived in the library, Carol was surprised to see Juniper already sitting at a table, her books laid out neatly. Ears perked and a tail began to wag when Juniper noticed her.

"Hi, Juniper, ready to hit the books?" Carol asked as she walked up to the table. "There's a lot to cover for next week's exam."

Juniper nodded. "Yeah, I already have some notes ..." She scratched her neck, embarrassed. "But they aren't very neat. I was hoping you could help me learn to take better ones, too."

Huh ... So Juniper actually wanted to study, and do better in class. Well. This was a pleasant change for Carol. She might not need that ruler after all.

Sparky backed up a few steps when he realized what had just happened. He tossed his dark curly hair and smirked at the gray-skinned girl who had - yes, she had just winked at him.

"Hey," he said. "Don't do that kinda thing unless you mean it."

The girl laughed, her green pigtails bobbing. "Too late. I did it on a dare."

"A dare? Am I getting that much of a reputation?"

"I don't know, are you? I don't even know your name."

Sparky leaned against the wall next to her, giving a charming grin. "I'm Sparky, how about you?"

"I'm April." With that, April folded her arms. "Now I know where I've heard about you. You're that guy from NRC who thinks he's a gift to all the ladies."

"Not just ladies," Sparky added. "I like to keep my horizons broad."

"If you do that," April said teasingly, "you'll only get lost."

April was pissed off... she lost a bet to her brother and now she had to be in a outfit she hated with a passion, a maid outfit... her foul mood was visible with some of her customers given her tone was grumpy although she did her job well... at least... untill she spotted a certain customer... and just wanted to hide behind one of the carts... why was she here... of course she did know Jokers dorm also loved their sweets.... however her brother smirked at her in his own butler costume.

“April... how about you stop hiding and tend to the customers?”

He smiled knowing well she wanted to avoid that table and then just pushed her to it. Smiling at the group.

“Sorry for the wait, I found your Maid to serve you.”

And so Julian walked to another table while April just had a red face out of emberassment...

“So w-what can I get you?”

Joker smiled lightly at her... “Well how about a tarte tatin...I didn’t expect you to be here...”

“I don’t want to talk about it... usually I despise these outfits... it just doesn’t work. “

“I think you look very cute though.”

This got April to hide behind one of the plates given her face was bright red... murmuring... “T-Thank you.”

She quickly got the orders of the other Heartslabyul students with her and moved to get the food for them and bowed.

“I h-hope you enjoy this...” She tried her best to be polited to the others students to but in the end you could notice she got more softer and willling to work when Joker did the talking... Julian stopped by and smirked at her.

“Guess you grown fond of your master?”

“Brother... I am gonna strangle you if you say another word...”

“My bad couldn’t resist.”

She still cursed this costume but at least she did feel happy to see her enjoy her food.

With a focused look she walked around the venue carrying somewhat of a basket in her head. Some nice white flowers, some bought pastries cause her own were messed up again, a single apple, some different tea bag, an CD from her world about music from there and some parts she got from Monsville... it was a little heavy to carry but after she found Punch, she could take a deep breath.

"I hope I am not late... happy birthday to you. I was indecisive what to get you so I kinda picked a little bit of everything."

After settling it down on the ground before him she also put her arm around his and leaned closer.

"Although one gift I also wanna give you personally now."

She leaned up giving him a small cheek kiss and giggled.

"I had to. But anyways... I just stopped by, after the celebration my tutoring courses should be done as well so... we might be able to spend more time by then. Of course if you want to... wish I could celebrate now with you but some students need some help so I take my time later."

(Also not me realizing Carol and Punch are in the same club too...)

She was nervous, hence Julian had to come with her to push her forward. She hid behind a pillar of the birthday Venue but her brother pushed her out to face Joker and hand her a red box with different things.

Mostly sweets, yarns, a poker set and some gemstones.

"I j-just thought you might like this and um... I hope y-your birthday will be nice anyways."

"Oh no you don't run away April. You can stay and celebrate with your girlfriend right?"

"Julian!"

"She has a lot of time today, so take care of her... "

And so he pushed her in Jokers arms and left the venue as April cursed him under his breath for getting her into this situation while she was emberassed enough already.

"Carol!!" Punch looked up from the table he was helping to decorate in the Ignihyde lounge, and smiled broadly at the lovely brunette approaching him. "I'm just happy that you were able to stop by at all. I know how many responsibilities you have..." He shuffled a foot against the ground, sheepishly. "I'm so happy you were able to make time for me."

His cheeks flushed pink in response to the kiss, and he chuckled. "I'm gonna incorporate these flowers into the main table decoration. They deserve to be seen. And when you come by later, let's listen to this music together? I wanna hear all about these bands."

"If you want..," he added, with a mischievous look on his face, "I can give you a preview of a game that we're gonna be playing next week at club, before Idia-sempai and Azul get a chance to go all competitive over it. It'll play just fine with us two..."

The sounds of a small, quiet scuffle got Joker's attention. She looked around the Heartslabyul lounge curiously until she spotted the source - oh!! The Richters were able to come, after all! What was Julian up to...?

Oh. Joker giggled as her girlfriend's brother neatly deposited April in front of her, and gestured to hand off the bright box she carried. "Aw, Lucky, you don't gotta be shy just because there's folks around. You know I'm still just me, right? Even if I am kinda the little queen for a day, haha!" She oohed over the assortment of gifts, admiring the polished gems and complimenting the color choices for the yarn in particular.

Then, Joker found herself with an armful of cute girl, watching as Julian made his retreat. He was a piece of work, she thought, but his techniques definitely worked.

She helped April to get back to her feet. "You know, you still haven't been able to show me those winning strategies for cards..," she said with a wink. "If you wanna stick around a while and play a few hands, I can't say I'd mind at all. Whatdya say?"

Home forever

The giant let off a yawn. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d slept so well. Perhaps it was the mattress, or the new house. Or perhaps it was because of the human who was now standing on his kitchen table. Beady little eyes looked expectantly at the bread box.

Yeah. It had something to do with not living alone any more. The giant pulled some of the cinnamon bread from it’s box, and cut a hearty slice for himself. He buttered and warmed it, then cut a little corner off for his new roommate. This was placed down by the little fellow with a small thimble of coffee.

“Morning little guy. How’d you sleep?” He couldn’t understand the man of course, but it was good manners. He watched the little guy absolutely devour what was in front of him. It was like he’d let a rabid animal into his home really.

But he couldn’t leave the poor thing out in the rain. It was cold, and though the tiny fellow looked well insulated, he still couldn’t just leave someone like that. Of course that had a side effect, and now there was a small nest of humans living somewhere in the giants home.

He’d tried finding said nest, but no luck was to be had. Turned out humans were sneaky little suckers. So he just chose to co-exist with his new guests as best he could.

Of course, it would be nice if they stopped climbing all over him. The little man was already halfway up his arm by the time he noticed. The man was staring at him, with those damn beady eyes again. They were about all he could see of the human past the black beard and shaggy hair.

The man pointed to himself and declared loudly. “Bear.”

“Okay?” The giant eyed him with confusion.

The human repeated himself, then pointed to the giant. “Oh! You’re introducing yourself. Ah. Richter. Hi.”

Bear looked at him long and hard again. “Hi Ricky.”

“Don’t start.” The giant warned playfully.

Some historical context for Olrox

Okay, let me prephase this with one important message: Castlevania Nocturne made me really happy by making the plot all about colonialism, as colonialism and its fallout and how it influences us to this day is a topic that I am very passionate about. We do not talk enough about it. The US does not talk enough about it because it could make white people feel uncomfortable. And here in Germany we do not talk about it, because we act as if this had nothing to do with us at all.

But the show talks about it and I love it.

And I honestly also gotta say that I love that the BI_PoC character have a concrete cultural heritage. Olrox is Aztec, Annette is Yoruba, and Drolta is Egyptian. Other shows: Please take notes!

But let's talk Olrox, because he is so fucking interesting and amazing!

We know about him that he is Aztec and also that he is 250 years old. Or roughly that old by the time he kills Julia. Which would put either his birth or his turning somewhere around 1530.

Now, the fall of the Aztec Empire has a very exact date: August 13th, 1521. But you should keep in mind that this does not mean that on that day the Aztec's are extinct. To this day there is still 1,5 million people speaking Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs, and preserving some of the Aztec cultural traditions. It was just that on that day the empire construct fell to Cortez and the Spaniad conquistadors and a lot of Aztecs went into exile to flee the genocide that Cortez was bringing upon them.

The question of course is: Was Olrox still human at this time or was he already a vampire? From his dialogue it is clear that he was at least alive and grown enough to remember the fall of the empire and the distruction Cortez and his men brought upon them. But you can bet it was very traumatic.

I also am assuming he was turned by a white man. Because so far my assumption is that vampirism is an old world thing that got brought to the new world through colonialism. (Mostly because in Dracula's court we do not see any new world vampires.)

Now, the other interesting thing is what he says about his dead lover. The one Julia killed. So, first the "town in Massachusetts" he speaks about is clearly Stockbridge. Which was the town in which many Mohicans have settled during the colonial times, as well as other people from the Iroquois Nations. Now, it should be noted that the Mohicans were not part of the Iroquois alliance and in fact went to war with the Iroquois, but by the time colonialism really geared up there was some cooperation between the Mohicans and Iroquois.

Due to this they were in an alliance with the Oneida (who were part of the Iroquois) by the time of the Revolutionary war. Now, the Revolutionary War created a lot of conflict between the Iroquois nations, because they did not agree which side they should fight on. Of course both sides promised that they could keep their land, but the Mohawk, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca did not trust the colonists and hence sided with the British, while the Oneida and Tuscarora (and through them also the Mohicans) sided with the Colonists.

And the dead lover clearly was among those siding with the colonists. Now, a quick refresher for the non-Americans (and the Americans who slept to history class, which is understandable). The Revolutionary War lasted from April 19, 1775 to September 3, 1783 (which, yes, also means that Julia and Richter probably were in the US during the war the entire time and the "evil" Julia was fighting probably was linked to it). And of course we all know how it ended for the Indigenous people: The colonists won, countless Indigenous folks died on both sides, only to get booted of their land soon after. The Oneida und Mohicans were made to move westwards not soon after the war ended. So, yes, Olrox would have seen that happen.

Now, an interesting thing in his dialogue was when Erzebet said: "We will create a new world." To which he replies: "I have heard that one before." And she says: "This time we are going to make it to last."

And the big question is to what this is refering. Is it refering to the colonialization or is it refering to the revolutionary war? Or something entirely different. In both cases it would be possible. And yes, the American Revolution definitely were claiming to create a new world. But was it that what he refered to or something else?

Well, never the less: Interesting character. Really good writing.
