Finarfin headcanon is he is a peaceful person most of the time but if someone pushes hid limit, he can be as dangerous as fingolfin and as determined as Feanor for revenge.

Like people forget he is also a son of Finwë. He commanded the Noldor in war of wrath. That's pretty badass. I personally headcanon him as someone patient and fair but mostly slow. Like he would see his brothers start arguing and would take him a bit to start to intervene or take a side. That can be a good quality, he likes to take his time. That's why I figure him as a good ruler overall even if he isn't as brave or as cuning as Nolo and Curvo.

I also headcanon that he tried to keep it chill as long as he could during his people's exile. Like, he was heartbroken for his wife's people and for seeing his children go. But he kept it cool, he grieved but continued as king of the Noldor in Aman. But when Idril and Tuor arrived in Valinor and explained all that happened during the first age. To his brothers' people, to his children... And the Valar???? You can bet he went Feanáro-explosive-mode to Manwë. It may have took him some time for all that rage to get to him but when it did.

Also just figure mini-young Arafinwë being SO DONE with his brothers bickering and exploding and them being super impressed at him.
