The amount of misogyny and sexism I have faced being a tiny 5’3” woman-presenting human in a field that is so technical and so physical like I regularly have to lift 50+ pound intelligent lighting fixtures over my head and hang them, or direct crews of men during a lighting focus, or choreograph a sword fight and…

I am a Master Electrician I am a Stage Manager I am a Lighting Designer I am a certified actor combatant with the SAFD and people take one look at me and believe I can’t do my job. But women and non-binary people in technical theatre we are smart, we are creative, we are competent, we are talented, we are incredible, we are STRONG, we CAN do these things and we deserve to be doing them!!!! i'm only kinda sorry but if i'm reading fanfic and the writer puts faith in a dress without a Very Good Reason (ex. the mayor made her wear it, she's trying to impress buffy, she's a bridesmaid in somebody's wedding) i am taken out of it so quickly. that tiny detail bugs me so much what are you even doing?? faith hates dresses!!!! free her!!!!!
