The Best Books I Read in 2021

It’s hard to believe that another year has come and gone, and that we’re already well into 2022. 2021 was a tough year for a lot of people, but it was also a year that I spent a lot of time reading. I read a total of 50 books last year, and I wanted to share my favorites with you.

One of my favorite books that I read last year was “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. This book is set in a future society where there is no pain, no war, and no suffering. Life is controlled and everyone is happy… or so it seems. The main character, Jonas, is chosen to be the “receiver of memories” and he soon realizes that the world he thought was perfect is actually a lie. This book was a fascinating read and it really made me think about the world we live in today.

Another great book I read last year was “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. This book is set in a dystopian future where children are forced to fight to the death in a televised event. The story follows Katniss, a 16-year-old girl who volunteers to take her sister’s place in The Hunger Games. I could not put this book down! It was a suspenseful, action-packed read that I would highly recommend.

Finally, I wanted to mention a couple of books that I read that were just plain fun. The first is “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” by J.K. Rowling. This is the fourth book in the Harry Potter series, and it is my favorite. If you’ve never read the Harry Potter books, I would highly recommend them. They are perfect for both adults and children.

The other fun book I read last year was “The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D. Salinger. This is a classic coming-of-age novel about a teenage boy named Holden Caulfield. Holden is a rebel and doesn’t conform to society’s expectations. I related to him a lot as a teenager, and I think many people will be able to relate to him as well.

Those are just a few of the great books I read last year. I’m looking forward to reading even more in 2022!

Nad sobą miała ciemnogranatowe sklepienie pełne gwiazd. – Po grecku – ciągnął, nadal szeptem, ale siedzieli tak blisko, że słyszała go dobrze – „kosmos” znaczy „ozdoba”. I to jest oczywiste, a w każdym razie mnie rozgwieżdżone niebo zawsze zachwyca. Ale „kosmos” znaczy też „porządek”. I to jest dla mnie najbardziej niesamowite. Wydaje się przecież, że te gwiazdy rzucone są przypadkowo, tu więcej, tam mniej, bez ładu i składu, ale im dłużej się je obserwuje, tym wyraźniej widać przedziwne uporządkowanie. Bo co łączy choćby te cztery i tamte trzy? Jedna oddalona od drugiej może i o setki lat świetlnych, a my patrzymy i mówimy: „O, Wielki Wóz!”. Chociaż między nimi jest niewyobrażalna przestrzeń, to jednak razem poruszają się po niebie: „Gdzie ty pójdziesz, tam ja pójdę, gdzie ty zamieszkasz, tam ja zamieszkam…”. Dla mnie to niesamowite. – Wziął Anastazję za rękę. – Tak jak w życiu. Niby te wszystkie rzeczy, które się nam zdarzają, to suma przypadków i dziwnych, czasem nieszczęśliwych zbiegów okoliczności, ja jednak wierzę, że jest w tym jakiś porządek. Albo raczej że ten porządek cały czas się tworzy. Nawet z naszych błędów i głupot. Z tego chaosu też da się wyprowadzić kosmos, czyli piękno ładu. Uwierzyła mu. Elżbieta Walczak "Jestem prawdą. Pokolenie XYZ" Każde pokolenie ma swoje cechy charakterystyczne, które odzwierciedlają się w sytuacji czy zachowaniu. Życie często pokazuje nam inną stronę, która jest jedną wielką zagadką.... To było naprawdę mocne przeżycie. Autorka dokładnie charakteryzuje kolejne pokolenia. Mam wrażenie, że czas gdzieś tu wkrada się ironia. Niektóre wiersze mają bardzo bezpośredni, czasem niemal wulgarny wydźwięk. Zasady interpunkcji nie obowiązują w tych utworach, ponieważ kwestię interpretacji, przerw pozostawia się czytelnikowi. To właśnie on ma w rękach kwestię ważności poszczególnych tez. Parę razy w utworach pojawiają się czołowe postaci w kulturze. Niektóre wiersze nie mają tytułu. Nadaje to pewną swobodę całości. Autorka stosuje ciekawe epitety, zaskakujące metafory. Do tropów, które możemy spotkać zaliczamy: niedopowiedzenie, nawet znajdziemy pytanie retoryczne. Forma dialogu niektórych utworów nadaje dynamizmu i pozwala szerzej spojrzeć na dane zagadnienie. Parę utworów ma w swojej budowie didaskalia, które pozwalają zobaczyć więcej, widzieć po za "fabułę" wiersza. Ma to też inną funkcję. Nasuwa następującą myśl: życie jest teatrem, a my aktorami. Analizując konkretne utwory możemy scharakteryzować autorkę, jej uczucia, doznania i doświadczenia. Ta poetka szokuje, zadziwia, czasem denerwuje.
