(for @bonenest <3) yeah so the thing about that living+ convo is that it's so bizarre how roman is both flirting with gerri + apologizing but not really apologizing for the one thing she wants & deserves an apology for? strange vibes all around. not surprising given where their relationship stands but hugely tonally different regardless.
honestly the strangest thing is him mentioning tabitha — it sounds like he's trying to make gerri jealous, but that doesn't really add up. gerri i think is a very non-jealous person bc she's cutthroat enough and knows her worth, plus she's never had any reason to be threatened by tabitha personally professionally or otherwise. so what is the point of bringing her up.
i think the meaning of the scene hinges on her tbh. roman's essentially saying "hey, sorry about being attracted to you before, that wasn't me, i know that wasn't normal, but tabitha's in town and i'm pretty sure i can be normal again since my dad is dead so you don't have to worry about me anymore. friends again?"
it fits in with roman's "pre-grieved" mentality + his false belief that his dad's death made him "free." it also fits in with the fact that logan always liked tabitha('s image) and gerri's transformation in logan's eyes into the poster child for roman's sexual dysfunction.
obviously gerri was Wrong enough for roman and that was mutually acknowledged between them, but i think i realized for the first time with this convo that logan's view of gerri had fully become roman's as well because of logan's final request etc — even though he still cared about her so much and didn't want to fire her at connor's wedding. it definitely adds context as to why it was easier to fire her in anger later that episode.
i like how the script says roman is being 'honest' because like yeah he thinks he's got it all figured out but his mental state is completely incomprehensible. he's lumping in the sexual harassment with the sexy phone sex. he thinks his dad was the cause of his sexual dysfunction and his death erases it but he only thinks gerri is a source of his sexual dysfunction because his dad told him so. confused king. <3

Anime! Fictional! BTS x Real World! Reader- Welcome To My World~ Episode 1
HEY HEY! IM SO EXCITE! Btw who here plays BTS World? This is very loosely based off that.
I need to download it again tbh.
CHECKOUT MY MASTERLIST HERE!
Leggo!
...
What does it mean to escape? To get away. If it means leaving behind all you know, all you’ve been raised to know, all you’ve been led to believe, with just yourself and the clothes on your back. Scary, but thrilling. Terrifying, but inviting. Unbelievable, but definitely possible....
...
On a early Tuesday morning where the sun was barely grazing the orange sky, you sat by your windowsill. You were dreamily staring out into the halo that was a mixture of red and orange. The halo of greyish clouds matched your mood to a complete tee. The aesthetic beauty of nature wasn’t enough to make you smile or even blink twice, however. It was always like this though. Yet something about this scene made you go sour.
Releasing a sigh, you stepped away from the window, shutting the curtains. Another day, the same thing. All you could do was attempt to power through.
As you lazily pulled your shirt over your head, you had managed to dodge that annoying dog. The little brat wasn’t even yours, but your oh-so loving step-sister’s. He always had a affinity for making your room a hot mess.  Only yours in particular.
“Get out of here you little-.” you chased the dog out of your room, slamming your door as it scurried off. “What did you screw up this time?” you curiously scanned the room. Everytime that little fluffy beast rammed his little head into your personal space, something would end up broken, ripped, shattered, or completely destroyed beyond repair.
You almost screamed when you saw a familiar book cover on the floor. You instantly dropped to your knees, praying to yourself that it wasn’t true. The cover had a pretty violent looking rip along with the first few pages.
Your absolute reason for waking up in the morning was tarnished. A signed cover of BTS Universe Issue #1. Probably your one and only favorite series on planet Earth. You gingerly picked up the book, trying to inspect it with hopes that the damage was minimal. As little as this was, you almost felt like crying. However there was no time, you needed to tape up the pages and fast! Who cares if you missed breakfast.
...
“Morning Y/N!” Your step-dad greeted you in the kitchen. “You were upstairs an awful long time, I was about to send your mother to see if you were still up playing that game of yours!” he smiled warmly.
“Thanks Mr. Chai.” you replied politely. “I’m sorry I’m so late.”
“You know...Y/N...you could call me Dad.” he set a plate down on the table. “I know I’m not your father, but I want to be the best father-figure for you because I know...you haven’t really had that.”
You had to stop yourself from saying anything else. You haven’t had the best parental relationship, and your new step-dad really was trying. Maybe it was just his daughter that drove you nuts.
“Thank you.” you replied, smiling. “...Dad.” you winked, making finger guns. “Geez! You made a lot of food for just the four of us”
“ Well you ain’t see muffin, yet!” he winked. “You and Nari have a busy day today. She auditioning and you, my friend....well I don’t know exactly what you have planned for the day.”
“I’ll tell you if we can skip the food related puns.” you sat down at the table. It was a rule that everyone waited for everyone else. Even though you had taken the extra time to repair your copy of BTS Universe, you had seemed to be the first person down the stairs. In all honesty, you were just going to hang out at the comic store until Nari called to tell you she was done.
“Hey now, Donut kill my vibe!” he continued, laughing. “I have a million more of these, come on. Don’t go bacon my heart, Y/N.”
“Good job Y/N, you’ve gotten him started.” You mom came down the stairs in her little blazer and pencil skirt. “Whatever will we do now.”
“He did it himself, the guy’s an animal! You married a wild child, mom.” you joked. “He might just be a serial killer.”
“Don’t you mean...cereal killer?” he held up a box of Raisin Bran to make his point. You could only shake your head as your mother and step-father laughed together. Food related humor so early in the morning had to mean today wasn’t going to be a horrible as it started, at least for you.
“WHERE ARE MY THIGH HIGH BOOTS!” you heard a screech from upstairs. “THEY BETTER NOT BE IN YOUR ROOM, Y/N!”
“...WHY WOULD I WANT TO WEAR YOUR SHOES!” you yelled back after taking in a deep breath. “NARI, IF I WANTED TO BREAK MY ANKLES, I’D HAUL MYSELF DOWN THE STAIRS.”
“When will you two get along?” your mom shook her head. “It’s been three years.”
“We don’t not get along.” You shook your head. “Not my fault she’s difficult.”
“I can think of a few times you’ve been difficult yourself, young lady.” you mother pointed a stern finger at you. “Like when you locked yourself in the room to read that silly cartoon of yours.”
“It’s not silly.” you defended yourself.
“Oh come on!” Nari’s voice voice could be heard alongside some loud footsteps. “I think it’s cute to be honest. Y/N here actually has a hobby besides stalking celebrities online.”
“Shut up, Nari.” you grumbled. “And keep your dog out of my room! He ruined my signed copy of BTS Universe!”
“Dorie got out again?” she seethed, looking annoyed. “I really have to put a bell on that dog.”
“Yeah.” you sighed, you bummed mood returning. Everyone knew just how much you loved that edition. You kept in in a super special display case, you cleaned the case every week, you kept your other issues on their own bookshelf along with your figurine and digital visual novel editions of the series. You were even on the buyer’s list for the special early anime release. You LOVED this series. Not even Nari dared to disrespect something as important as that, and she loved getting under your skin.
“I’m sure you’ll be able to find another one.” your mother set down a bowl of cereal in front of you along with a muffin. “Now eat, you have a big day today.”
“Yes mam.” you replied, helping yourself to some cereal.
“If you want, you can take a muffin or bagel with you.” your step dad said.
“Dad! I can’t, I have to be super focused remember? Breakfast will just slow me down!” Nari scoffed.
“Not having breakfast will make it even worse, dummy. Dude, you’re gonna pass out on stage.” you threw a tiny cereal piece at her. “Eat something.”
“I’ll eat later, I just have my eye on the prize and nothing is going to stop me.” Nari stood up determined.
“Will you at least eat some toast, crazy girl.” your mother said. “Y/N’s right, you need to at least have eaten something to calm your nerves. Y/N make sure Nari eats something before you two go your separate ways.”
“I’ll try, no promise.” you shrugged. “Nari, if you’re done, then get your stuff and let’s go.” You promptly finished your cereal and went to go back upstairs. “You got ten minutes.”
“What’s her deal?” you could hear Nari ask, followed by an sudden whispering of your mom stating exactly what she thought was wrong with you. Your bet was on ‘everything’.
You walked back into your room, grabbing your purse from your desk. You eyed your taped up issue of BTS Universe #1. There was no way you were going to find another issue like that, and that damned dog just treated it like a loved toy. You grabbed your phone and shoved it into your purse. You went over to where the issue was and placed it on your desk.
“NARI LET’S GO!” you shut the bedroom door behind you as you walked out the room.
...
You sped to a stop outside the building. Nari was shaking in her shoes. She seemed hesitant to even open the door.
“Call me when you’re finished so I can pick you up.” you said, getting ready to unlock the doors.
“You’re leaving me!?” Nari looked like she was about to explode.
“Hello?! It’s idol trainees only?” you raised an eyebrow. “I can’t go in there with you. Nari what’s the problem?”
“...Um...I’m nervous alright! I’m giving up almost everything and if I don’t get chosen...I’ll just prove my dad right. I need this.” she stared down at her hands. “I’m not used to being a reject. I don’t know how you-”
“You wanna leave here with two working legs, I suggest you don’t finished that sentence.” you cut her off. “I’m not a reject.”
“That’s not what I was gonna say. I’m saying I don’t know how you deal with nerves like this.” she looked like she was gonna pass out.
“...You just do.” you nudged her shoulder. “You just go for it and hope. Go for it.”
“...Okay, I’ll try.” she opened the door. “...Thank you.” she stood up. “I’ll call you when I’m all set.” she shut the door.
“I’ll literally be at the store around the corner.” you replied before driving off. You watched in the rear view as she took her sweet time going into the building.
...(Later on)
You trudged behind Nari as she ran through the door. She seemed happy, so that must have meant the audition went well.
“I’m gonna take a nap.” you called to your mom and step-dad. “See you guys at dinner!”
You didn’t wait for them to reply before you closed the door. As you walked over to your bed, you noticed a disc laying on your bed. Just a random DVD. The closer you got, the font on the front got clearer.
“BTS World?” It didn’t look familiar in the slightest. “It’s called BTS Universe, Nice try Nari.” you wrote it off as a stupid prank by your oh-so-loving Step-Sister. It was only then you realized Nari was with you all day.
You took another look at it, gently taking it in your hands. It looked like it was glowing.
Call it curiosity, but you needed to know.
Your laptop was sitting at the edge of the bed, so you put the disc in.
“State your name.” a voice came out of nowhere.
“What?” you looked around in shock. The voice sounded like it came from right behind you.
“Please state your name.” the female robotic voice repeated.
“Y/N.”
“Are you sure that you want Y/N as your name?”
“Um Yes?” you raised an eyebrow. You still didn’t know what the fuck was going on.
“Would you like to start a new game? You don’t appear to have any saved filed under the name Y/N.”
Maybe you were sleepier than you thought, but you ran with it. “Yes.”
“Starting new game....now”
Your screen began glowing a bright blue, a vivid, saturated blue. It was like your screen had turned into a flashlight.
“What the fu-” you suddenly stared at your hands, the very tips of your fingers turned pixelated. “MOM!!!” You tried to scream, only to have it come out in the form on an echo. You felt your feet leave the ground as tiny little pixels moved towards your computer. You could see the color draining from your walls, leaving everything white. It was like an earthquake ran through your room...only through your room.
Then...everything went dark.
...
(Why hello there...LET US PREPARE. I’m gonna go through with it this time, I swear on my bacon! The guys are coming next chappie!)

The Truth Evasion (Pt. 1/2)
Part 2
Jackson Wang, GotSeven’s ace hitman and local strip club owner, has had his eye on the girl who helps the gang stash away their dirty money for years now. He wants to know why you won’t give him a chance, but you’re fairly certain that Jackson can’t handle the truth of your past. There are some obstacles that mere sexual attraction and a good fuck aren’t enough to overcome.
Warnings: Strong language, mafia!au, violence, maybe some boring financial stuff because this idea struck me while I was studying for my finance laws exam. I also have no clue when Part 2 will be out. This is just a two-parter, btw. Hopefully next week? Ugh. I hope.
Word Count: 3k+
The Mafia (Masterlist)
Tumblr media
“For fuck’s sake, Wang. Just because it’s called blood money, doesn’t mean that you need to actually get blood all over it. What the hell is wrong with you?”
Jackson Wang grinned down at you. He was dressed in black from head to toe, his hood lowered and the mask on his face pulled down so that it was now resting under his chin. There were smudges of blood on his forehead and cheeks, but you weren’t worried. The blood wasn’t his. It never was. Besides, if the shit-eating grin on Jackson’s face was any indication, then he wasn’t remotely hurt. It had been a routine hit tonight; kill the guy, get the money. But there was more cash here than you’d been expecting. You looked up at Jaebum, who was standing over you, arms folded as he looked down at the briefcases full of cash with a steely glint in his eyes.
“He lied to us. There’s at least 2 million in here,” you explained, waving a stash of notes for emphasis. “Way more than we were expecting. It’s a good thing we took him out, or he would have caused some serious problems for us.”
Jaebum scoffed, rubbing his jaw. “Nobody conducts robberies in our territory without our permission. He was asking for it.”
Jackson crouched down beside you, fingers reaching out to leaf through a small stack of notes. He hadn’t had the time to savor the cash, he’d been rushing to get away from the crime scene after the kill. There was always a rush of adrenaline when he got safely back to headquarters, the money secure and the operation successful. Not to mention that he lived for the spark that alighted in your eyes whenever you spotted the cash. You loved money and Jackson Wang loved you. He nudged you lightly with his shoulder.
“What do you think, babe? Think we should invest the extra million into our wedding?” he joked.
You glared at him, unamused by his antics. “Fuck off, Wang.”
“Hey, I was just kidding-“
“Aside from the fact that I would rather die than go anywhere near a wedding with you-“ you shot him a look of disgust to emphasize your point. “We can’t use this cash directly. See these notes? They have consecutive serial numbers and they’re brand new, crisp notes if you ignore the blood Wang got on them. Guy robbed these from a bank, remember? If we take this money anywhere near a legal source in this country then we’re going to set off a million triggers and the robbery will be traced back to us.”
Jaebum sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “Fine. We won’t use them for anything legal, then. We’ll use it to pay off BTS for last month’s arms trade deals. They’ve been ragging me for the money all day.”
You sighed and shook your head. “It’s not just dirty money, Jaebum. This cash is directly traceable to a bank robbery conducted barely a week ago. The national investigation agencies literally have alerts everywhere for this. BTS won’t touch it either. No, we need to get this money out of the country. It’s going to take a smuggling operation.”
Jaebum blinked at you, eyebrows raised. There was a reason that he trusted you to handle the gang’s finances; you had a way with money, knew exactly what to do with it and how to handle it. He’d been suspicious at first, unable to understand how you turned dirty cash into perfectly legal, accountable money sitting in a bank account within a matter of days. But you’d been handling GotSeven’s money laundering activities for years and at this point, Jaebum didn’t even bother to ask you what you were doing with the money or how you invested it and faked the transactions to get it back. You always returned with more money than you started off with and the money had never been traced back to the gang since you started working for them, so he trusted you.
“Where does it need to go?”
You looked down at the cash and sighed. “An amount this size? Overseas. I know a guy in Macau. He’s got some understanding with the local banks, they’ll accept anything for a 15% cut. He’ll deposit the money there, we’ll have it transferred to the account of one of our shell companies, fake a couple of contractual agreements and it’ll be back in our bank accounts, fully legal and untraceable in two weeks tops.”
Jackson frowned. “Why should we give some fucker in Macau a 15% cut of our money?”
You sighed and rolled your eyes at him. “Because that’s how illegal money works, bird brain. What else are you going to do? I’d like to see you try to deposit one of these notes in the local bank here without having the federal agencies tailing you for the next month and wire-tapping all your communications. Why don’t you stick to shooting your gun around and leave the money matters to people who understand them, okay?”
Jaebum nodded at you, cutting off your rant. “You do what you have to do. We’ve lost our direct links to Macau, though. Our regular guy there got shot dead a few weeks ago. Chinese mafia got to him. Apparently he had a lot of gambling debts.”
Jackson blinked and looked disappointed. “Aw, man. Zhang Wei’s dead? I liked that guy. He came down to my club the last time he was in town, dude knows how to party. We drank some major liquor and he gambled away literally everything he earned while he was here. Crazy guy.”
You raised an eyebrow at him in disgust. “Zhang Wei was human garbage. Do you not have any standards for the friends you make?”
“Aww, are you worried about me getting in with the wrong crowd, baby?” Jackson cooed.
“You are the wrong crowd,” you replied before turning to Jaebum. “How do we get this cash into Macau, Leader-nim?”
Jaebum pulled his cellphone out of his pocket and began dialing some numbers. “I’ll talk to DaySix. They’ve been running some opium trades there of late, I’m sure they’ve got some routes in. I’ll ask the Bear to meet you in the morning for a drop-off. You talk to your finance guy in Macau and help them figure out how to make the exchange, okay?”
You blinked. “I’m not driving around with all this dirty cash alone. Send Tuan with me.”
“You can take Wang.”
“What? No!” you complained, while Jackson folded his arms across his chest and beamed at you. Jackson was the worst security detail ever. He always talked way too much and made you want to steal his gun and shoot yourself in the head. You preferred Mark. He was quiet, kept his eyes on the money and didn’t like pointing his gun around for the hell of it. “Why can’t I have Tuan? He’s better at this stuff.”
“Tuan’s detailing a cop that’s been on our tail a lot lately. It’s a full-time mission, I can’t spare him. Take Jackson instead,” Jaebum said firmly. There was a tinge of authority in his tone, one that told you not to argue with him about small details. Jaebum trusted you but he kept all his gang members in line and you were no exception. You tried to ignore the pleased grin on Jackson’s face as you closed the briefcase full of money and stood up, dusting your knees off.
“Fine,” you snapped. “I’m leaving the money in the safe here, then. I’ll come by to pick it up in the morning.”
Jaebum nodded. “Sounds good. Nice work today, guys.”
You nodded and went into the bathroom, splashing your face with water and looking at the dark circles under your eyes. It had been a long day. The more Jaebum grew to trust you, the more work you had. You’d started off investing some small amounts into shady schemes but in a matter of four years, you were now in charge of all of GotSeven’s finances. You handled the dirty money and invested it in segments; shady real estate, bonds, shell companies in foreign countries, businesses which ran as fronts for the illegal trades. Not even Im Jaebum knew exactly where all the wealth of GotSeven was located, because you’d made it all that untraceable.
It wasn’t easy work. It involved a lot of transactions, a lot of tracing money that didn’t really exist or spreading it in various bank accounts across the world. The only person who really seemed to understand the difficulty of your job was Park Jinyoung; he’d been handling the finances before you came along and he was only too happy to let you take over. I don’t want to spend all night reading about the tax regulations and banking laws in Latvia, he’d admitted to you once. I’m a strategy guy. It’s a good thing we found you. I thought all the accounting stuff was going to drive me insane.
There was a knock on the bathroom door.
“Hey. I’m heading out for the night. Need a ride home?” Jackson’s voice called through the bathroom door.
You sighed and wiped your face with a towel before opening the door. Jackson was standing on the other side, a handsome smile on his face. He’s gotten rid of the blood and taken off the mask; there was nothing hiding his dashing good looks from your naked gaze. Besides, Jackson was always glowing and extra flirtatious after he’d returned from a successful mission. It took him a while to come down from his adrenaline high.
“I don’t know, are you going to keep flirting with me the whole time?” you demanded.
He held his hands up in the air jokingly. “Fine, I’ll tone it down. Come on. The buses probably stopped running and I’ll never understand why you refuse to buy a car. Sometimes I feel like you want me to drive you around everywhere because you like my company.”
You scoffed. “Fat chance. I just don’t want to attract attention to myself.”
“Buying a car would attract attention to you?” Jackson demanded incredulously.
“I work in a convenience store by daylight, genius. Don’t you think my co-workers would get a little suspicious if I suddenly turned up with a brand new car on my minimum wage salary? They think I’m struggling to make rent. Besides, I don’t keep spare cash or store money in the bank. The money Jaebum pays me with is all invested in various financial schemes and securities, I keep some of it in real estate off the coast-“
Jackson groaned. “Oh my god, that’s enough money talk for tonight. Fine. Don’t buy a car. Live in a shitty apartment and take the bus to work even though you’ve probably accumulated a fortune from all the work you do for GotSeven. That makes perfect sense.”
You ignored Jackson, walking past him and getting into the passenger-side seat of his fancy sports car. He would never understand. Jackson was an excellent hit man and he could kill a guy with his bare hands in less than two seconds, but he was addicted to the life. He lived for the money, for the thrill and for the luxury. Sometimes you wished you could loosen up like him, enjoy everything that you got by virtue of working for GotSeven and accept the fact that you could live a comfortable life now.
“Why aren’t you at your club tonight?” you wondered, as Jackson started the car. “It’s Saturday.”
“I left Bambam in charge. His girlfriend’s doing a shift there tonight so he was going to be there anyway,” Jackson replied as he pulled out of the parking and sped away from the headquarters. When Jackson wasn’t taking out guys for GotSeven, he ran a shady strip club downtown. It wasn’t a bad place really, although it was definitely illegal and substituted as a meeting place for a lot of shady deals. When you combined sexy naked girls and alcohol, almost any man could be convinced to part with his money.
“Hmm. Bambam’s really hitting it on with that girl they saved from the trafficking ring, huh?”
Jackson glanced at you. You looked tired, there was something exhausted about your tone and he wanted to know what was wrong. But he also knew that you would never tell him what was on your mind. He made a turn and then blinked at you.
“Do you have anything else going on tonight? We could drop by the club and get a couple of drinks. You look stressed recently, Jaebum must have you working full-time after we struck all those deals with the Russians, eh? Those guys are stinking rich and the loaded us with dirty money. Come on, one drink?”
You frowned at him. “I’ve said it once and I’ll say it as many times as you need me to; I am never stepping foot in that abomination of a place. Leave me out of it.”
Jackson blinked at you. “What’s your problem with my strip club?”
You refused to answer him, just turning your head to look out of the window. Your head was throbbing. It had been a long day staring at the computer screen, tracking down some payments that you’d made to private bank accounts in Europe and accounting for the transactions of one of your shell companies in Barbados. You didn’t have the energy to respond to Jackson. Sometimes you felt like being around him just drained the energy out of you because you had to go to so much effort to resist his advances.
“Okay. You don’t need to get a drink,” he reassured you, his tone softening. “Can you maybe come and take a look at my accounts sometime? I had a couple of tax collectors come in the other day and they’ve been sniffing around. You know me. I do all my transactions in cash, I don’t pay any money to the stinking government and they’re catching on. I got a notice from the Income Tax Department the other day.”
You turned to him, your eyes lidded. No wonder Jackson was on the tax authorities’ radar. Some of those fuckers were regulars at his club and Jackson’s sole method of tax evasion was sweet-talking his way out of his dues. You didn’t want any part in it. “I work for GotSeven. I made it explicitly clear to Jaebum when I first started working there that I wasn’t going to handle your private businesses. Get an accountant to do your strip club’s taxes. Jackson. I find it hard to believe that you can’t afford to hire one.”
His voice became quiet. “I trust you more, though.”
“I’m exhausted, I don’t have the time for shit like this!”
Jackson suddenly stopped the car, pulling over at the side of the road. You blinked at him in surprise and were shocked when you saw his eyes looking at you intently. His gaze pierced through you and you didn’t know how to react when he reached out and placed his hand over yours. “What’s going on with you?” he asked gently. “Look, I know you don’t really like me and it’s always been that way for some reason, but… you seem stressed. Is something going on? Did anything happen?”
You bit your lip and gently pulled your hand away from his. “Nothing happened-“
“Don’t lie to me.”
“Nothing happened, okay? And even if it did, what’s the point in telling you? The only way guys like you know how to solve problems is to shoot a guy dead and then get a beer and a naked girl to celebrate. I don’t need any of those things. So do me a favor and just drive so I can get home, I have an early shift at the convenience store and we need to drop-off the cash with DaySix.”
Jackson was quiet for a long moment and then he nodded, re-starting the car. He drove silently the entire way to your apartment building, his knuckles white on the steering wheel as he finally pulled to a stop. You breathed a sigh of relief when you saw the entrance to your building and moved to take off your seatbelt. But Jackson’s hand closed over yours gently, stopping you from removing it.
“I don’t celebrate with naked girls from the club. I haven’t touched another girl in a long time. You… you know how I feel about you,” Jackson said softly. He swallowed and then squeezed your hand. “You’re not an idiot. I don’t have to tell you how important you are to me.”
You closed your eyes and sighed. You hated this. You preferred Jackson’s shameless, unabashed flirting to the gentle, heartfelt confessions he sometimes made when the two of you were alone. You could joke the former away and snap at him, but you never knew how to respond to the latter. You turned to him with pleading eyes. “Don’t do this again, Jackson. We’ve been through this, ever since I first started working here. It’s been years. Can’t you let it go?”
“I can’t let it go,” he mumbled.
“You need to learn. You and me, it’s never… it’s never happening. I’m sorry.”
Jackson groaned and ran his hand over his face. “I know that. You tell me that every single time, but I don’t understand why. There’s something between us. I know you’re attracted to me. I see how you always check whether the blood on my clothes is mine after I return from a hit. You were the first person to panic when I got shot last year. And when there was a stick-up at the convenience store during your night shift and some fucktard tried to rob you, you called me. Not Jaebum, not Mark, not even the police, you called me and you stayed at my house that night because you were scared. We shared one of the most amazing nights of my life. You can’t keep pushing me away and pretending that you don’t have feelings for me.”
“Watch me,” you mumbled.
Jackson’s eyes were pleading. “Why? Why won’t you give this a chance? Why can’t this happen?”
You took a deep breath and shook your head. “I don’t know,” you whispered.
“You’re lying again.”
Maybe I am. But you couldn’t handle the truth if you heard it, Jackson Wang.

You scoffed at the sight before you. There was your fiancé, shamelessly locking lips with another woman.
“Y/N, wh-“ Shuri stopped, mid-sentence as she saw where your gaze was directed to. “Bast. That little piece of shit.”
You laughed as you broke sight of Eric.
“Don’t act surprised.” You reminded her. This was not the first time this happened. “At least their clothes are still on, and they’re in a corner.” She rolled her eyes. You shrugged. “I don’t even care anymore, Shuri.”
“He needs to get his hormones in check.”
“Tell me about it,” you giggled.
_____
“Your fiancé looks as if he’s enjoying himself. Don’t you think?” T’Challa whispered into your ear, behind you. His breath sending goosebumps throughout your body.
You took another sip of your wine, not bothering to turn around whilst muttering, “If you mean by him fucking around with other women, then yes, he is enjoying himself.”
T’Challa chuckled bitterly. “Karma’s a bitch, my love.”
You smirked.
“I wonder if he knows that I touched your skin?” He mutters as his fingers discreetly run up and down your uncovered back. Your dress giving him a view of what he knew all too well.
“I wonder if he knows that every time he’s out fucking each and every girl he sees, I’m making sweet love to his fiancé.” He rasped darkly.
“What would your parents say my love?” He continued. “If they found out The King was fucking their engaged daughter?”
His words send shivers down your spine. You gently squeezed your thighs together, already knowing if he continued speaking so vulgar, down there would be pretty damped soon.
You let out a shaky breath. “Hmm?” He hummed.
“They’d be ashamed for starters,” you finally spoke.
“But what would your country think, when they find out their King’s been fucking his cousin’s fiancé?” You simpered.
Spinning around, you caught hold of his stunned face. “Hmm? Panther got your tongue babe?”
He laughed his melodic laugh. ”My cousin, truly doesn’t know how blessed he is to have you in his life.” He says, pulling you closer to him.
A bittersweet look dawns your face. T’Challa notices. ”What’s wrong, Y/N?”
You place your now tightly clenched fist on his chest.
”I-I can’t marry him, T’Challa. I can’t m-marry a person I don’t love. The only person I want to marry, is y-you.” You sobbed into his chest unceasingly, hands clutching at his jacket.
He pulled away from you, cupping your face so you looked up at him. As your eyes met his you could see how teary they were getting.
“My love, you know that there is nothing we can do. We just have to accept that it is what it is, Y/N.” He uttered, as his dark lashes brimmed heavy with tears.
“Bast! I can’t keep running around the palace in secrecy as if I’m a damsel in distress T’Challa!” Your own voice shocking you as it rose a little higher.
“I just want to be with the one I love. Don’t you love me, T’Challa?” His heart broke as you croaked the last few words.
“More than anyone ever could,” he blurted, “But you know this is not my decision to make.” He stated matter-of-factly. “As much as I would love to marry you right now and make you my Queen. It is not possible.” He whispered below his breath, tears now evident as it streams down his stunning face.
Shaking your head, you quickly got a hold of yourself and wiped your tears. “Wipe your tears, My King. Your mother is approaching.” You murmured, not making eye contact with him.
Your words did not faze him. His eyes were fixated on your hand. He gently grasped it.
“It is quite shocking, Y/N, that you still have the ring I gifted you in the past.” He observed, lightly smiling to himself.
“It means something to me. You- mean something to me.” You spat, as you released your hand from his grasp.
“There you are! My son, there are a few important guests that would like to meet you.” Queen Ramonda stated, eyeing him. “Yes Mother, I’ll be on my way.”
She now turned towards you.
“Ah, Y/N! Shuri and Eric have been looking for you! Shuri has been bored out of her mind and Eric isn’t exactly exciting for her.” She laughed.
“I know.” You giggled. “Well, I’ll take my leave. Enjoy the rest of the night.” You told, glimpsing at T’Challa and smiling at the Queen.
____
“My wife, where you been? I was looking for you.” Eric says as you take a seat between Shuri and him.
Shuri rolled her eyes. “You have?” You questioned, the sarcasm rolling off your tongue.
“Yeah, I missed you babe.”
You laughed at him. “You missed me yet you couldn’t keep your hands to yourself. Missed me with that bullshit.” You snarled, crossing your legs.
“Damn. What T’Challa do you? He ain’t been fucking you right apparently.” He shot back.
Your heart beat quicken, you could feel your ears getting hot, but nevertheless you tried to keep your cool.
“W-What do you mean?” You stammered.
“Nah princess don’t act like that. Don’t think I don’t know y’all been fucking.”
“Bast! Ew, that’s disgusting! Is that true, Y/N?” Shuri queried.
“I have no idea what he’s talking about.” You denied, popping a cherry into your mouth from the platter on the table. Fear enveloped you. If it’s one thing, you did not want to have this conversation in public.
He chuckled. “She’s been loving that man since forever. Why you think I’ve been fucking around? If she can do it so can I.”
“Fuck you Eric.” You mumbled as you popped yet another cherry into your mouth.
“I’m just sayin, I can fuck you way better than T’Challa-“
“Okay stop! I really don’t need to hear that. I’m confronting T’Challa about this!” Shuri got up, storming through the crowd.
“Shuri wait-no!” You begged, but she was long gone.
“Eric!”
“Sorry babe, she had to know.” He said placing a cherry in his mouth.
You took a deep breath. Multiple deep breaths, actually. Your heart beat was all you could hear and feel as you waited.
Standing there for what felt like eternity but was only five minutes, you wanted to curl up in a ball and not speak to anyone. You knew this had to happen, but today of all days? Karma really was a bitch. _____
Shuri was confused as she wandered through the ballroom looking for her brother.
“Sorry.” She muttered as she nudged someone. “Shuri, what is the matter? Why are you in such a hurry?” Her brother asked.
“T’Challa!” She screamed, placing her hands on his arms and pulling him into a corner.
“What a-“
“Zip it. Is it true Y/N is having an affair with you?” She pondered.
He looked at his little sister. He never knew he could fear a question so much, until now.
“What? Are you crazy? That information is false.”
“Listen. I know you have a history with her so please, be honest with me.” She pleaded as she grabbed a glass of water from the passing waiter.
He sighed.
“It is true. But you can’t reveal this to no one. Especially Eric.”
She laughed. “Brother. He’s the one who told me.”
“What?”
_____
“How’d you know?” You mumbled.
“How’d I know what princess?”
“About T’Challa and I?”
“Huh. Caught you sneaking out the King’s chambers one morning, and with the way y’all talk to eachother it wasn’t hard to put two and two together.” He smirked.
You nodded. “So did you have feelings for me?”
“Nah princess. I knew you were my cousin’s, since I came here.”
“So why’d you agree to marry me?”
He stopped. “Who else is going to marry me Y/N? Nobody wants me here. Nobody truly loves me. So I saw an opportunity and I took it.” “Eric,” you sympathized. “Why didn’t you tell me? I’ve always looked out for you and thought of you like a brother. But when you accepted the proposal, things changed. I was baffled, I didn’t understand why you wanted to marry me, but I do now.” You paused, looking for the right words.
“B-but my heart is always going to belong to T’Challa and even though we can’t be together, I just can’t give up on him.” Tears stroll down your cheeks as you fiddled with the promise ring you were given years ago by the love of your life.
“I-I just don’t know if you could live with your wife longing for another man.” You muttered underneath your breath.
Seeing the tears in your eyes, Eric didn’t know what to do. He thought for a second and decided.
“You don’t have to marry me, Y/N.” He declared, scooting closer to you and resting his hands on yours.
“I know how much you love him, and honestly, you the first person I actually wanna see happy.” He confessed, continuing. “I’m gonna make sure you marry my cousin. This engagement is off.” He proclaimed, making you look him in the eye.
“Are you serious?” You gasped.
“As fuck. I ain’t wanna make you unhappy everyday of your life.”
You grinned. That was literally the sweetest thing Eric has ever said to you.
“Are you sure? What about you?” You pestered.
“Shit, I’ll be fine darling. As long as we’re still friends.” He laughed.
“Eric. Y/N.” You both heard T’Challa called, followed by Shuri.
“Ah, the King of the hour.”
“Can I speak-“
“No need for that, I’ve already fixed your life. You two are getting married.”
“I’m sorry, what? Are you serious?!” Shuri screeched, earning a few looks from guests.
“Yeah, we called off the engagement.” He casually responded.
Tears in your eyes as you looked up to T’Challa.
The little jellybean was in shock. He gaped at you as if someone said he’d have to go through hell and back for you to marry him, and you best believe he’d agree to do such thing, for you.
“Is this true?”
“Yes, T’Challa!” You grinned, wiping away a few tears. Your makeup slightly smudged due to all the crying you did today.
He gently fell to his knees, tearing up as well. Tenderly, he grabbed your hand and glided the promise ring of your finger.
“Remember the day we were giving up?” He started, his voice gentle. “Just thinking how I went about us wrong, makes me regret. I’ve had countless nightmares about you losing hope in us.” He truthfully says.
“I’ve been idolizing the light in your eyes since the day we met, and when the news came you were getting married and I couldn’t do anything about the matter, my heart broke. I felt as if I lost myself, my happiness, my everything. But now that I have the chance to have you by my side ‘till death do us part, I’m not going to waste it.” He shook his head.
“Would you, Y/N L/N, make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife, my queen, my everything?”
“Yes! Of course!” You cried.
You’ve lived for this day and you couldn’t imagine saying anything different.
He slid the ring down your finger. His hand reaches for yours and they interlock as you kissed passionately.
Shuri wiped away a few tears as Eric and her started clapping, gaining attention yet again, from the guests.
“I love you, Y/N.” He beamed, holding your hand as you stood up.
“I love you too.”
Standing there, you knew one thing for a fact. You were at utmost happiness when you were with T’Challa, and honestly, you wouldn’t want it any other way.

What would VIXX be like if they were detectives and you were either their assistant or the person they were scolding the case for? Or even the one they were trying to apprehend? :0
Hakyeon
world-renowned detective
only works cases that even the government can’t solve, has an obsession with trying to solve cold cases that are over hundreds of years old
is a Gentlemen to the bone. wears nothing but the most expensive suits, addresses everyone formally, and carries a pocket watch in this day and age
doesn’t like working with partners, it isn’t his thing. like the government will offer him the opportunity to have the smartEST people in korea help him but he’ll always just wave the offer off because he’s got this on his own
he once accepted the help of a policeman and everyone was so shocked but in the end all he did was make the policeman run around making him coffee and at the end of the case hakyeon was like “thank you for all your effort!” and the policeman was like but i didn’t do anything,,,,,and hakyeon just smiled like nonsense, you made the best coffee ive ever had!
you meet hakyeon because you’re related to someone who disappeared mysteriously back in the seventeen hundreds and hakyeon just so happened to have taken on that person’s missing case as a side hobby and he shows up in front of your house
at first pretending to be a repairman and you’re like,,,,,,,are repairman always this handsome and courteous?? also you don’t understand half the big words he’s saying
but you let him in because your sink is broken and hakyeon,,,,probably because he’s like a genius,,,,actually does fix the sink and wipes his hands with this silk handkerchief he takes out of the suit he’s wearing
and in your head you’re doing math like suit + handkerchief + good vocabulary + beautiful face = sink repairman?? no no no it =,,,,
and it takes you more than normal but once hakyeon turns to suddenly ask you a question about your family tree you point at him and go
“detective cha?”
and he just smiles calmly and goes, “took you long enough to notice.”
that’s how he ends up sitting at your table, asking you various questions about where your parents are from, if you know this person or that person
and to be honest you didn’t even know someone in your family went missing that long ago
but hakyeon fills you in on what he knows and when he’s done, he says goodbye in his usual manner - with a bow
but you don’t let him leave, you grab your coat and you’re like “you’re going to go investigate more aren’t you?” and he’s a bit surprised, but nods and you’re like “ill go with you!!!”
and as i said before he’s not to excited about partners, and he does try to discourage you as you follow him out to the car outside but you’re determined to find out what happened to your relative and hakyeon,,,,,
looking into your eyes which are clear, and passionate,,,,,,
and actually interested in what he told you decides that it would be very “un-gentlemen” of him to say no to someone who is related to the victim and all that,,,,
so he let’s you come along and revisit some old sites and stop by a museum and question some more people about their relatives who knew the person at hand
and in the end hakyeon, in his mind, has managed to piece together a story that you like ???? could never have imagined
and hakyeon,,,,who sees how well you’ve kept up - even taking to recording notes on your phone while he questioned people,,,,decides to take you to his home and help you figure out his conclusion
and his home is just as elegant and as well kept as he is, everything is in the rich colors of mahogany and silver and with a kind of victorian twist to it
and hakyeon sits you down in front of a large board on which he’s pasted old photos of your relative who went missing, newspaper clippings, handwritten notes, scraps and all that and with the efficiency and lightness of a bird he goes from photo to photo, from article to article
and explains to you exactly what he believes happened on the night of  the appearance so so very long ago
it’s almost like you’re watching a documentary narration as he explains each clue and then at the end he turns to look at you and goes
“they never disappeared, they simply left to be with their lover in another country.”
and you’re like WOW how,,,how could you just get that from all this random old stuff, but you clap your hands and go “what a story! you could write a book!”
and hakyeon blushes a bit becuase ok he’s used to people being like “you’re a genius” or “it was so simple?” but,,,,,a book?? you obviously were more focused on the case than most people,,,,
and you get up to study his board closer and hakyeon is standing close to you as you point at pictures and ask questions
and in the dim light of the room, he sees your face glow and that same spark in your eyes he noticed before
and the way in which your hair smells faintly of something sweet when you lean up beside him,,,
and hakyeon has never been one for a partner because they just get in the way,,,but you,,,,,,,
there’s something about you that doesn’t get in his way,,,instead there’s something about you that comforts him
and when you look at him, smiling and go “do you have any other unsolved cases? another story you can share with me?”
hakyeon decides if there’s one person he wouldn’t mind having a long with him for the next case - it’s you
Ken
really silly private investigator who more than anything doesn’t solve actual cases, but just finds out if spouses are cheating on each other for a good amount of money
spends most of his time in his office with his legs up on the desk playing games on his computer
has an assistant that’s always trying to clean his messes, but literally the minute ken sits down at his desk there’s gum stuck in the keyboard and coffee spilled over files
his assistants always quit like two weeks in
and it’s when the last one quits that ken puts out an ad for another, because god help him he wouldn’t be able to do his job without someone keeping him functioning
and by functioning is reminding him to take his keys and that no, wearing the long jacket and the fedora just makes him stand out more
and you, who’s just moved to seoul and has no job prospects whatsoever, decide that an assistant job can’t be that hard
until you meet ken
who, when you first come through the door asking to speak to the person in charge, is laying under thirty newspapers taking a nap
and you have to nudge him with your foot to see if he’s awake
and ken’s like OH RiGHT ,,, i DIDNT GO HOME LAST NIGHT!!! and you’re like yikes who is this crazy dude
but then ken dusts himself off and you’re like ok he’s kinda cute not the point and you’re like “where’s ??? investigator ken???” and ken grins and points at himself and is like “speaking!!”
and you’re like holy shit ok um and you’re like “im here for the assistants job here’s my resume-” but ken is just like “no need, you’re hired.  the first weeks a trial week though so no pay, but i will take you out to a complimentary lunch~”
and you’re like um ok but why are you here shouldn’t  you be investigating cases?? and ken laughs like “oh it’s alright, i already know that all our clients are all cheating on each other i just need to get photo proof but i can do it tomorrow”
and you’re like??????? what so you don’t solve like murders
and ken is like “an have to look at dead bodies? no sirrie”
and from that moment you’re like this,,,,,,this isn’t going to be an easy (or normal) job
and it isn’t because two weeks after you work there you’re really thinking of quitting because ken is like a child, both with clients and with you always making bad jokes and slipping over the trash he has scattered
but what stops you is that ken comes through the door with his hands both in casts and you’re like ????? and he’s like “i fell down the stairs in the subway,,,,,,” and you’re like how are you going to work ??? you need to take photos ???? can you use your foot
and ken just gives you a grin,,,,a very sly grin
and you end up in his car - driving to some shady looking street - holding the camera ken is supposed to be holding and ken’s like “you see the guy coming around the corner, that’s mrs. park’s husband, now see the lady over there? that’s his lover - quick snap a photo wait not yet ok,,,,now!”
and you try to take photos but you’re like kEN WONT WE GET ARRESTED
and he’s like no no i have license but you’re like OK I DONT THO
and you see mrs. park’s husband turn and you duck, stumbling a bit and falling into ken’s lap face first
and you hear him burst out into a chuckle and you’re like hitting his thigh like DONT and he’s like sorry sorry this is just so compromised,,,
and you get what he’s implying but you’re like DO N O T even think about it
but then you try to sit back up and ken’s like “don’t, he’s still looking” and you like move a bit so your face isn’t in his lap but like your leaning your head and shoulder against his chest,,,,which is broad btw and quite,,,,,muscular,,,,
but yeah you sit there like that for a bit and ken’s like “ok we’re clear!”
and you sit back up but the client’s gone and you’re like “i don’t know if i took enough pictures-”
and ken’s just like “if you ever need to cuddle into my chest again, feel free. i’d hold you but both my arms are broken and-”
and you’re like “don’t make me break your arms AGAIN”
,,,,,,,,,but at the same time like it wasn’t ALL that bad,,,,,
Leo & Hyuk
leo is the veteran detective who has seen it all and is overworked and tired, while hyuk is the fresh blood detective who wants to pull his gun out every chance and go on high speed chases
and leo is supposed to mentor hyuk, but in reality hyuk doesn’t listen to a word he says
and leo has given up so he just let’s hyuk do whatever
but every now and then he has to hold himself back from knocking hyuk upside the head with a case file (sometimes he can’t hold himself and just. does it)
but hyuk always gets his revenge by replacing the sugar in leo’s morning coffee with salt
which ends up with leo spitting the coffee all over himself and fellow policeman ravi and ken rolling on the floor laughing while hyuk runs for his life out of the precinct
the two of them end up being assigned a case of a repeat jewel thief who has stolen from over five separate malls in the past month
and leo tells hyuk that no - he doesn’t need to bring a gun with him to the crime scene
but hyuk insists that the thief might still be there and leo is like yes, but we want the thief alive - but it’s too late hyuk is asking if the SWAT team will really show up and everyone’s like NO and he’s like “being a cop actually sucks”
so hyuk and leo show up to the last store that was robbed only a couple of hours before
and you’re still in the mall, wearing the stolen bracelet and watching from afar as the police scatter trying to figure out how you broke in and all that
and you just think it’s really funny,,,how hard they try and how they never get anywhere
but you don’t notice the two new policeman, but hyuk nudges leo and shifts his eyes toward you - the sparkling bracelet on your arm only visible for a moment before it gets hidden by your jackets sleeve again
and hyuk and leo silently make an agreement,,,,but as always leo goes through with the plan hiding behind a pillar while hyuk,,,,,,,
hyuk decides that leo can go screw himself and runs straight toward you, going “hands up!”
and you, well hello you’re a thief, you get up quickly and push a trashcan over towards hyuk as you make your escape
and hyuk trip and leo screams at him for being an idiot as he chases after you
and so if leo catches you, he manages to corner you in a stairwell where the door you’ve reached is blocked
and you’re like,,,,,,,,,, trying to pretend that someone planted to bracelet on you after the robbery
but leo is watching you with narrowed eyes so you know he doesn’t believe you so you’re like “ok, fine. arrest me.” and leo does put you in handcuffs but he’s like “tell me how you managed to rob the store” and you just grin and shake your head like “uh-uh you can’t get me to talk, uncuff me and i will.”
and leo’s too seasoned of a policeman to know you’ll just sock him and run for it so instead he uncuffs one and cuffs the other to his own arm and he’s like “there, you’re practically free.” and you’re like lmao you call this free??
and he’s like “im not an idiot, but if you want both hands behind your bac-”
and you’re like fine whatever let’s walk out like this - but as leo takes a step forward you yank the cuffs and he teeters backwards with you and as he falls, you fall ontop of him
and leo is close to your face and you’re like “oops~ i didn’t mean it~” and he just,,,,well you’re close and you’re not exactly,,,,,bad to look at
plus you’re pressed up against him and he’s like “get off” and you take a moment before you do and you don’t hesitate to notice how red he’s gone in the face
but then you also, very easily undo your cuff with the key you stole from his backpocket when you made him fall
and leo doesn’t see until he hears the ‘clink’ of the cuffs unlocking and he looks down but you’re already dashing up the stairs and laughing and you’re like
“i hope we see each other again officer-  i also left a giiiiiiiift~”
and leo is too stunned and angry, but he looks down at his wrist and sees that you slipped the bracelet onto his cuffed hand as well and he’s like HOW THE HELL
but all he’s left with is your laughters echo
and if hyuk catches you it’s because he’s still faster and more agile than you and ends up tackling you to the floor before you can escape
and as he’s arresting you, leo appears and hyuk just sticks out his tongue like he’s five like “hehe hyung i got them and you didn’t because your old and can’t run~~~” and leo is like shut it boy
back at the station hyuk and leo are questioning you about the other robberies and you’re like not interested in anything leo is saying
instead you keep making eyes at hyuk
and hyuk is kinda like,,,,,,what,,,,,because he’s oblivious until you’re like “id like to speak to officer hyuk. alone.”
and leo says something under his voice but leaves and hyuk sits down and is like “are you going to tell me how you did it?”
and you’re innocently like “did what? by the way are you single?”
and hyuk snorts like “huh, no!” and you can tell he’s lying
because he’s still pretty young and the way you’re looking at him gets him a bit ,,,,,,hot under the collar if i may say
and you like lean over the table as much as you can and you’re like
“officer hyuk, you’re cute. i think i know what i want to rob next.”
and hyuk is like “ah-aha! so you admit it, you did rob those places?”
and you just smile and bring your face a bit closer and you’re like
“can’t you uncuff me?~ it hurts~”
and hyuk is like “i,,,,,i can’t do that but if you sit down-”
and you’re like “i don’t want to~ i want to be closer to you.”
and hyuk swallows because,,,ok,,,,,your eyes are,,,,,,so,,,,pretty,,,but no you’re a thief. he just needs your confession
and so again he’s like “what do you mean when you say you know what you’re going to rob next?”
and you just giggle and hyuk has to fan himself because wow was your shirt this lowcut when they brought you in?
and you pull back slowly as if you’re going to sit
but then you stop and lean back in and you’re like
“i don’t steal jewelry or whatever. i only steal boys hearts~ and you’re next officer hyuk -”
and you tilt your head as if you’re going to lean up for a kiss
and hyuk is sweating now but he pulls back and is like,,,,,,,, “officer leo will handle it from here!”
and he runs out with his hand over his mouth because,,,,,,goddammit you’re a criminal but why are you so ,,,,,,,,,,,, enticing,,,,,
Ravi
really clumsy and easily emotional policeman who can’t work cases like murder or kidnapping because ok he’ll cry at literally anything
but it’s ok!! he doesn’t mind doing the usual responding to cats stuck in trees or loose grandmas wandering the park calls
and he’ll try to help anyone out with any problem - big or small
even though he looks intimidating and though, the whole tattoos and bright hair
he’s actual a soft guy at heart
and some of the other policemen make fun of him a bit, but for the most part people tend to take care of him at the station because he has the best intentions
you come in one day with your friends who is terrified because their little brother didn’t come in from school yet and it’s been two hours
and while every other policeman rushes past you and tells you to wait a moment, policeman ravi immediately pulls you both aside and asks what happened
and your friend barely manages to say something before she’s in tears, so you explain for her
and ravi scribbles down some notes and nods along and he’s like ‘ok, let’s go to her brothers school first.’
and your friend wants to come, but she’s in hysterics so you tell her to wait at the station while you and policeman ravi investigate
and as you’re leaving you’re like “are you sure there’s nothing important you’re bust wi-”
and ravi waves his hand like no- there’s nothing more important than a a missing child
and you nod because he’s right, but also like,,,,,,,are cops usually this kind??
but yeah the both of you show up at the school that says your friends brother left by himself hours ago when classes ended
and you decide there’s only two places he hangs out - the park or library so you try the library
and ravi almost turns the whole place over, even manages to knock down a display of books as he looks for the kid
and he’s so devoted that watching him makes you work even harder too
and so it’s a no in the library so you two split up to search the park when you reach it
and when you meet up ,,,,,, you light up because ravi is there,,,,, holding your friends kid brother on his shoulders
and you’re like you found him!!!
and ravi is like “i did!! he was hiding on the playground, but i let him play with my badge and he agreed to come out!!”
and you’re like oh thank god, it’s good he’s safe!!
and you three head back to the station where you friend jumps up when she sees her brother and she’s like @ policeman ravi like how do i ever thank you
and she reaches up to kiss his cheek and ravi is like !!!! oh
but he just touches the skin and smile shyly
and you like look around but then lean up and kiss his cheek as well except this time ravi turns a bright BRIGHT red
and is like “t-t-thank you???” and you’re like no no thank you !!!! and he’s like ,,,,,still blushing
and then you remember to get the badge back from the little boy and you pin it back onto ravi’s lapel
and as you’re pinning it on he’s like “i could get used to this,,,,,”
and you’re like “,,,,hmm????”
and ravi is like OH NOTHING I SAID NOTHING
but his face betrays his feelings and you
plus the entire damn world knows that
Hongbin
undercover detective
everyone believes anything he says because well,,,,look at him,,,,,could a face like that lie to you???
the answer is yes it could hongbin is not only a good detective but also a very good actor
was asked to pose as a bartender at a club where the police believed there was illegal drug activity and he’s been doing it for a couple of months now that all the regulars have become pretty well acquainted with him
is the heartthrob of the station he works at and,,,,,at the bar he works out
basically anywhere he goes people are bound to find him attractive and therefore he’s always the “most popular” on holidays
from gifts from fellow detective to gifts from the shady people who think he’s just a simple bartender
the other detectives have a joke about how hongbin won’t even need to call a bust, one of the suppliers will just gift him the drugs one day
you’re also a detective, set to go undercover with hongbin just as extra security measure
and you’re supposed to just be like another regular who comes by the bar for drinks and stays at the end of the bar where if hongbin comes over to whisper something only you two can hear
but for the most part you don’t interact as to not bring up suspicion
until one night you and hongbin are both minding your own business, doing your jobs separately
when one of the suspected drug dealers sits next to you and starts being unnecessarily touchy
and you’re a detective, you know how to handle this so you just reply calmly to his advances and say you need to step out for a moment
and hongbin notices and watches from the corner of his eye as you leave,,,,,,but then the guy follows you
and hongbin has always gotten a bad read on this guy but he knows he shouldn’t leave his post or he could blow his cover
,,,,but also you’re a fellow detective to he makes up some excuse about taking out the trash
and he goes outback to see the guy has pinned you to the wall and he’s about to pull him off when you push the guy off with your foot and knock him unconscious with one swing to the cheek
and as he like blacks out on the floor hongbin is like “,,,,,,,you,,,,i was worried about you but,,,,,,i guess for no reason”
and you just smile and shrug and you’re like “it’s fine, good to know you have my back - but you could have given us both away.”
and hongbin gets a bit red and he’s like youRE RIGHT but you know,,,a fellow detectives safety is much more important,,,,,
and you’re like that’s so sweet but go back in before they get suspicious
and hongbin nods as you like squat down next to the guy you knocked out and check his pulse to see if he’s alive
and hongbin inside is like,,,,,wow,,,,they’re,,,,,,,really strong about you
and tbh he can’t stop thinking about you even though they take you off the case because you did knock out one of the suspected dealers so you  can’t show yourself in that bar
but when the bust happens, hongbin is glad to see that you’re on the task force
and you two help bring down the drug smuggling business in a police raid
but as you’re hauling away all the guys the one who’d tried to hurt you calls you a choice name as you’re handcuffing him and hongbin out of nowhere ‘accidentally’ knocks his elbow into the guy’s face and you’re like
???????
and hongbin, whose never been super confrontational is like,,,,,,, “sorry, i still feel kind of bad about that night from before”
and you’re giggling like ,,,,,ok cute,,,,,don’t worry though we won in the end!!!
and hongbin is like yeah!!!! and it’s cute you’re both like kinda smiling to yourselves
but you end up smiling even more when you find out your next undercover job involves the two of you ‘pretending’ to be lovers and well,,,,,,you know,,,,,,,pretend might end up being something more hehe,,,,,
