Just finished watching the red white and royal blue movie, here are my immediate thoughts:
1. Omg this movie actually made me so emotional, I didn't expect to cry, I don't cry at movies much but this one, for many reasons, really made me feel a lot of things. I can already tell it will be a huge comfort movie for me going forward and this is simply because of the incredible story that Casey Mcquinston created, the directing of Matthew Lopez, and the acting of Taylor Zakhar Perez, Nicolas Galitzine and many more. (If ANYONE wants to say they have no chemistry I will fight you)
2. The way that the relationship between Henry and Alex is shown is incredibly well conveyed and in a way which could be realistic. We see that sweet sweet enemies to lovers but even after they get together it continues to develop and their connection grows stronger into a special bond which we see at the end of the movie (no not the post credit scene, that was a lil silly, nice touch though). Also going off on a slight tangent here, one of my main complaints about heartstopper season 2 was that Nick and Charlie are always kissing/making out, I was worried that this would also be the case for rwrb, but it definately wasn't. I read so many articles on how the intimacy coordinator directed the two actors and how much they themselves researched into the role to really deliver their best performences. It definately paid off. I felt that there was a really nice balance between the really intimate scenes which we see a lot of in the book and sweet tender moments where they really show that these two characters really love each other and aren't just super horny.
3. The sets and the way they filmed the whole thing. yes. The main one I want to comment on is the iconic cake scene, which as I said, I read a lot of interviews, and from those I know that Matthew Lopez had a vision for this scene which he worked really hard to get perfect, and it had a really good turnout (I know I already mentioned it but I love the post credit scene so much). One of my favourite things was Matthew Lopez revealing that the birds eye shot of cake falling onto Alex and Henry was him and another crew member dumping cake into them, this isn't that relevant to my thoughts but I just found that detail hilarious as Lopez said it was a "good way to let off steam." Other than that scene, which for me was a very important part of the film, I don't really know much about the technical side of a production like this, but as a viewer it all came together nicely and the sets were nice.
4. A reason I really connect with this film is the fact that I am a queer teenager who has learned to accept themself, gone through the coming out process (somewhat, we don't talk about extended family). I absolutely love the positive representation that this movie gives to the queer community. For people who have not read the book, it is an incredible story, and for a lot of people it shows for the first time in media that LGBTQ+ people can have their happy ending, it won't be easy to get there but it is worth it in the end. While in reality we see this with queer couples a lot, the community has had to fight for their rights and are still in that process, in countries where it is legal it is still very common to be judged, attacked and even killed for your self expression. So for me this was a very fresh (even though I read the book) story for the community, to show that the battles are worth fighting for your happiness. As I touched on before, I think a reason that this works so well is that the characters are so relatable to the average viewer, despite their positions. The are made to be comedic and actually have banter like you'd expect, it's not uptight and only about the romance and spicy scenes. This is really comforting to so many people out there and it feels very appropriate with the world we live in now. I would say my favourite scene in the entire film was the v&a scene, it's so cute I don't know how else to put it, literally a romance dream. Sorry if that was my worst tangent yet, you can tell I'm passionate on the subject.
5. I just wanted to mention some of the other characters. Like a lot of people I was really disappointed to find out that characters such as June and Liam would not be in the movie, however I think this is made up for by the great portrayal of other characters, my favourite being Nora who, let's be real, is not only Alex and Henry's number 1 shipper, but also just gives the best advice. Everyone in this movie genuinely gave such a great performence and I can only thank the entire team for giving us the adaptation that the book deserves.
6. I'm giving the spicy scenes their own point to mainly say that they aren't even that spicy, I personally don't even see why this film was given an r rating and I believe, as many others have said, that if this film was a straight romcom then it wouldn't be given that rating. Yes you see them with clothes off, there's no dick, you only actually see them having sex once, the others are mainly foreplay, really nothing that explicit.
7. I thought I would also dedicate a point to the travesty that is certain quotes from the book that were not included, "you obtuse fucking asshole." "fucking eyelashes." and "Remus John Lupin is gay as the day is long." (ok they probably couldn't get copyright permission to add that one) "I'm gonna take your pants off now... yes good carry on." "for fucks sake man you just had my dick in your mouth, you can kiss me goodnight." and "what in the rich white people sex dungeon." I know that they probably didn't want the script to be a direct copy of this book but some of these quotes would've been nice, also I like that they atleast mentioned the PowerPoint, despite not having the actual PowerPoint.
I hope you enjoyed my overly formal review/thoughts on the rwrb movie which slowly got more deranged in the hour that I was writing this, I began writing this around 3:20am just after I finished the movie, and it's safe to say, I won't be coming back to this to correct any spelling or punctuation mistakes. Overall I love the film, as typical as it is for a romcom, I love the characters and I really like what they were able to do in the 2 hours of the film. Obviously it's never going to be a perfect adaptation but I loved every second of it nonetheless. It's cheesy, it's romantic, but that's what gives it it's charm and makes me love it so much. I'll be hoping for a series to futher explore the story but that'll probably stay in my delusions.
It is now 4:20am, goodnight (I'm not going to sleep, I'm just not being formal anymore)

Introduction
Tumblr media
So here it is, here's the book we're going to read together. I'm aware this is a Junior Novelization and is basically a book for small children, but it's interesting for SO MANY reasons so please just indulge me on my bullshit for a little while.
First of all, the fact that it's a novelization of the movie Foodfight!. I'm sure if you're reading this blog you've already heard of the movie so I'm not going to spend too much time going over the basics, but to cut a long story short, Foodfight! is a 2012 animated children's movie directed by Lawrence Kasanoff, centering around a supermarket that comes to life at night. Said city is populated by "Ikes", icons of the various brands of grocery store product e.g. Mr Clean, the California Raisins, Charlie Tuna, as well as original characters like Dex Dogtective and Daredevil Dan. In many ways, you could say this movie is like Wreck-It Ralph if it took place in a grocery store instead of an arcade. You could ALSO say this movie is like if a cartoon dog fought Nazis, poorly attempted to recrate the "La Marseillaise" scene from Casablanca, and hung around with a racist caricature played by Wayne Brady who regularly talks about wanting to ejaculate in/on various women. And all of that would be true, because this movie is crazy loco. Because of that, it's hard to imagine what it'd be like in book form, but it's interesting for other reasons too:
The film itself had a long and painful development. Originally intended to release in 2003, the release date shifted to 2006, then 2007, until it FINALLY came out in 2012. Over the years, the animation was redone so many times that it went from looking like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To looking like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Around 2006 (one of the initial release dates for the movie) various merchandise for the movie was in development, ranging from picture books, to plush toys, to even a videogame that had a playable demo at E3 2006. The game was never released, but the picture books eventually made into stores, and the plush toys were sold off to various arcades, claw machines and carnivals as prizes. However, there's one piece of merchandise I've never seen discussed ANYWHERE online- and that's the novelization.
I found it on eBay a few weeks ago and just HAD to buy it. There were so many questions in my head right away: Why was the novelization was published in 2008, four whole years before the actual movie came out? Okay, it's probably just because the movie was planned to release around that time at one point, but how is there no other information about this anywhere online? If this was published in 2008, is there a chance it's based on an earlier version of the movie and has vast differences from the finished film? (if you can even really call the film "finished"...) The book says it contains 8 pages of color stills from the movie- again, how can that be when this was 4 years before the movie came out?
Tumblr media
I just couldn't leave all these questions unanswered, and so here it is in my hand (next to the Daredevil Dan plush I own because I'm NORMAL about this movie), Foodfight!: The Junior Novelization. As far as I can tell, this was the ONLY copy of the book available for purchase anywhere (is it maybe even the only copy in existence? Why is this book so vague and unknowable?) so I'm really at the forefront as far as discussion of this is concerned, on account of being the only person to even know it exists. Once I'm done talking about it though, I'll be uploading the entire book to the Internet Archive so everyone can get a chance to read it themselves. But for those yearning for a page-by-page analysis comparing the novelization to the finished film, I'm your girl! Stick with me and we'll strawberry jam our way through this enigma of a book.
Chapter 1 analysis coming soon!

Seen any good silent films?
Yes!!!
Okay so when talking about silent comedies everyone talks about Charlie Chaplin and his iconic character, "The Tramp". Now don't get me wrong The Tramp is a really interesting piece of movie history and paved the way for satire in filmed.comedy as we know it, but I found the actual comedy of his silent stint a little lacking because it was so focused on its satire, which he got to do better in the talkies (The Great Dictator is absolutely beautiful).
So then we get Buster Keaton who I found to be a bit of a dick. In his two films I watched-"The General" and "Seven Chances" he isn't exactly funny so much as he's a stuntman doing cool things (and in Seven Chances case he's also actively racist which the other silent comedies I've seen managed to near entirely avoid, even The General which was literally pro Confederate). Now his stunts and the money he put into his work was mind blowing. Man destroyed a train for Christ sake that's cool, but he clearly wasn't a comedian at heart.
The best of his work I saw was 'Sherlock Jr.' Which showed his hand. The man liked to make high concept art pieces, and added comedy to them so people would pay him to see them, but comedy was never his primary focus.
NOW OF YOU WANNA TALK FUNNY, LETS TALK HAROLD LLOYD
Harold Lloyd did the least of the big 3 comedians of the time as he just couldn't cut it in the talkies and didn't want to put his life at more risk than he already had doing crazy stunts. So he's the least remembered of the 3, yet if you ask me easily the funniest. His comedy is timeless-both the physical comedy AND the situational comedy.
I've seen two of his films-"Safety Last" and "The Freshman" and both were utterly hysterical.
The first is a classic 'guy down on his luck working at a department store and trying to convince the girl he's more wealthy than he is' and the whole thing is just scene after scene of shenanigans! He gets to work early but falls asleep on a truck so wakes up in the middle of town and has to hitch a ride back but he's late and doesn't want the smooth boss to know so he's gotta sneak in as a mannequin without getting caught which scares a guy and so on!
It's just funny physical bits and situations that remind you that even back then we were all goin through the same shit. Hating the retail grind and not having money and pushing cops over for the funny and climbing 30 stories on a building to win a thousand dollars.
AND THEN THE FRESHMAN IS THE SAME SHTICK BUT ITS COLLEGE SHENANIGANS
SPECIFICALLY A BIG DORK COSPLAYING AS HIS FAVORITE MOVIE CHARACTER TO BE COOL AND EVERYONE CLOWNING ON HIM
HIS OWN DAD CLOWNS ON HIS NAME ITS PEAK FUCKING COMEDY HE DOES DUMB LITTLE JIG EVERYTIME HE MEETS SOMEONE ITS SOME TIKTOK COMEDY I STG
Also he was one of the first people to utilize speeding up walking footage to make the shot funnier and again, it's so endearing knowing we've found the same shit funny since the beginning of film.
Do yourself a favor, watch The Freshman and if you love it-which you will- watch Safety Last. It's just a pure delightful comedy experience.

May I ask you at what point it's clear Anne wrote/decided that Armand was physically a teenager? He doesn't seem to be written specifically as one during IWTV (especially) or even QOTD -- possibly why he's portrayed as a grown man in the early comic books and in the 1994 film?
Okay hahah full disclosure I’m writing this at work instead of working and I don’t have books with me to pull quotes so use your imagination or if anyone wants to jump in with some quotes please feel free!
So in IWTV he’s just described as a young man, and Louis doesn’t go crazy telling us too much about what he looks like. I have a few thoughts about this, and about how it influenced the movie and other incarnations of Armand:
Louis has spent most of his vampire life with a grown woman who looks like a 5 year old, so BIG FUCKIN DEAL LOL, wow ur 17? Get in line.
The movie specifically made him older & more spooky old world looking for the visual contrast, also to sidestep Louis’s rebound love interests both being children/young.
I don’t think we should get too nitpicky about the comic books like let’s, just. Lmao. Let’s leave that one.
By the time he shows up in TVL is when he goes from being described as “young man” to “young boy”.
I lied I do have this one quote:
This was a boy, as I had said, and he had a head of long curly hair, and he walked very straight and very simply through the silvery light and into the church. He hesitated for a moment. And by the tilt of the head, it seemed he was looking up. And then he came on through the nave and towards us, his feet making not the faintest sound on the stones. He moved into the glow of the candles on the side altar. His clothes were black velvet, once beautiful, and now eaten away by time, and crusted with dirt. But his face was shining white, and perfect, the countenance of a god it seemed, a Cupid out of Caravaggio, seductive yet ethereal, with auburn hair and dark brown eyes.
So there’s like, 12 years or whatever that she took between books and that gives her a lot of time to let her mental image and idea of the character to evolve, but also just her writing style is so different. I remember Anne saying that she also had Stella from The Tales of Hoffmann in mind when she wrote Armand, so he evolved from “ageless & androgynous” to “gleaming manikin of a young boy” !
For a visual reference, this is Moira Shearer as Stella, which Anne said was Armand in her mind:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is the painting Lestat mentioned:
Tumblr media
But I think we are all aware of the tonal shift phenomenon between IWTV & TVL where IWTV is this like, heavy melancholy Gothic tome and then Lestat just shows up and fucking wrecks the place.  I don’t recall ever hearing her talk about this aspect of Armand and I don’t know if she had it in her mind the whole time, even if Louis didn’t take the time to describe it in detail the way Lestat does. I’d love to know how much of this was in her mind the whole time and if anyone has clues please let us know!!!!!!!
TLDR to answer your question, it’s ambiguous in IWTV and obvious in TVL.
HOWEVER.
I have this crack theory lmfao. !!!!!!!!!! About how Prince Alexi in The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty is also an auburn haired teenager, and how it was written in between the two VC books.
I mean like. Anne can say anyone has auburn hair but it’s just such a staple for Armand 2 ICONIC so how are you NOT gonna wonder about it when she’s writing BDSM porn? Idk.
There’s really no evidence for this except me with my Charlie Day board but sometimes I wonder if that break between books influenced her idea of him at all, and what impact it had on her prose for when she returned to Lestat, and I always wonder if they’re connected at all. IT JUST SEEMS SUSPICIOUS TO ME.
Like I mean. I think, there’s lots of teenagers in her books, so maybe this isn’t really much of a coincidence. But. I must wonder!

So! I finally saw the fnaf movie! And I’ve got many thoughts about it!!! Here’s my review and random reactions and thoughts about it. Spoilers for the movie under the cut. Proceed with caution!
I thought it was really good! Definitely wasn’t perfect but I had a lot of fun watching it! My mom was with me, and she doesn’t really know anything about fnaf but she also enjoyed it. I didn’t really get scared at any point during the movie (I was more scared by the horror trailers they played before it started haha), but that’s fine! Maybe I’m just immune to jumpscares.
The effects!!! All the animatronics looked so good in motion, and the sound design made them feel even more real. Every heavy metallic movement or blink of an eye, it was just perfect.
There are sooooo many Easter Eggs! Sparky the dog! Ella from the books as a prototype circus baby spring lock suit!
The soundtrack slapped, especially the opening credits. Blumhouse was cooking in the music department fr 🔥🔥🔥
BLANKET FORT SCENE! EVERYONE CHILLING TOGETHER ON THE FLOOR AND BEING FRIENDS! I wish they could’ve stayed friends like that, it was my favorite scene of the whole movie and was so sweet
I heard everyone say there was a matpat cameo but I didn’t see it? Either I somehow missed it or the theater cut the scene or something? I SWEAR I didn’t see this man or hear him say his iconic line. I did have to get up at one point to use the bathroom really quick, so many that’s when I missed it.
Coryxkenshins cameo! I love that guy, he did really good for his quick scenes! I think they should make him a reoccurring character actually. Have him run over springtrap in the next movie.
Also the aunt character was evil. But like, comically evil. She hires people to break into the restaurant to make Mike look bad so she can get custody of Abby and get the government paychecks for it. And she got murdered in Mikes house by Golden Freddy, and they never resolve that??? Last we see her she’s lying dead on the floor and then the last scene with Mike and Abby they’re happily eating spaghetti at home like their aunt wasn’t murdered in the living room lmao. And we know Vanessa couldn’t have covered for them because she’s in a coma soooooooo. 🤷‍♀️
The coolest kill was when Freddy bit that girl in half and her bottom half fell onto the floor like DANG! The rest of the kills they either cut away from or don’t really show detail, which I thing is a weak point. Next movie I think they should push it a little bit further, but I understand why they shot it the way they did.
Is this a good time to admit that I’m kinda down bad for Josh Hutcherson in this thing hhahghshdh 😳🫣 boy stopping looking at me with them big sad doe eyes
Matthew Lillard was also serving cunt in this, even though he got 10 minutes of screen time 😔 he gave it his all. Hopefully if we get a sequel he gets to do Springtrap stuff.
Mike during this whole movie be like: 😴. I’m surprised it took so long for the band to attack him in real life (dream sequences don’t count) when in literally every other scene he’s popping pills and taking naps. He naps every few scenes and yet looks like he hasn’t had a good nights rest in 30 years 😭
So… Garret isn’t one of the spirits? I would’ve thought he was Golden Freddy but he’s not…. Maybe in this universe Garret is the puppet? There was a hidden message in the end credits that says COME FIND ME and the puppet music box is playing. That seems to be what theyre trying to set up for a potential sequel, but…. That’d make me a little sad tbh, this is Charlie erasure ;-; Also can we please have Henry Emily do something for once in this franchise, WHERE is this man.
The finale was cool! When Spring Bonnie walked in everyone was like “YESSS!!!” And after he started talking my mom was like “😯 I think I know who it is!”
William smacked Mike so hard he did a damn triple flip through the air and got his ass knocked out cold. Mans him so hard that it probably sent him back to the bite of 83 💀💀💀
So. The big thing. No Michael Afton in the movie. In fact, Vanessa is William’s only child.
Honestly I’m kinda down for the strange role swap that this universe has going on. I don’t think anyone expected Vanessa to be Williams daughter, but that was cool, and it gives a little insight as to how William managed to get away with this for so long. He’s literally got a kid in the police force keeping tabs on Freddys and covering his tracks for him. Now it suddenly makes sense why in the trailers Vanessa seems so knowledgeable about the animatronics and already knows they’re possessed.
Tbh I had a random thought. If Vanessa gets to take over Mikes role in this world as Williams kid, then Mike should get to have his own “reluctant follower” villain arc. Put that man in a rabbit costume. It’s only fair. Equality 😤 ✊
And with those final thoughts…. Yeah! I’d say the movie was a solid 8.5/10 for me, I’ll probably go see it again with friends when they get off work this weekend! The critics are wrong yet again, it’s a perfectly enjoyable movie and the fans will love it.

Random Stranger Things Thoughts Pt. 1
I’m back with the Stranger Things fandom in the forefront of my mind, and I have some thoughts.
Tumblr media
1. I miss shipping Jonathan and Nancy. The Duffers kind of pushed Johnathan to the back in recent seasons and I hate that they made him the Cali-high dude. The only moment I liked him in the more recent season was when he had the talk with Will in Surfer Boys pizza, and I used to love Jonathan. I want the Duffers to appreciate the character more and give Charlie Heaton more to work with. 2. The Stranger Things score now creates a sense of nostalgia within me, both the opening theme and the other music that just plays in the backgrounds of scenes. 3. Hopper and Eleven need to stop being separated from one another. Every time they’re split apart it breaks my heart, though I will say their reunions (season 2 after she returns from Eight, three when they meet again in the mall, four after she thought he was dead) are some of the best happy-cry moments. 4. Going back and watching season one, all I could think was this show was genius. The books, and movies, and shows that introduced me to this whole fandom world were all about these kids, who really felt and looked like teens, thrust into these extraordinary situations, prevailing, and showing everyone around them that they are more than they appear. I genuinely think that this is one of the cleverest tv show of the past 20 years. The salt bath gave the fantastical a sense of logic behind the whole process Eleven goes through, the light communication with the alphabet was amazingly thought out and executed, and they made Eleven’s adapting to society seem authentic. She didn’t know anything, but she did grow, and grew slowly as anyone else would do in that situation. 5. I really like Finn Wolfhard, but for some reason as the seasons go on I like Mike just a little bit less. I miss the quiet empathy he expresses toward El in season one, though I know he doesn’t need that anymore. 6. I also like Nancy a little less each season. She felt so new, smart, and badass at the start, but I feel like she’s being overshadowed now a days. I did love her interactions with Robin though. 7. I want all of Eddie Munson’s clothes. 8. Utilizing the established game of Dungeons and Dragons means the beasts the characters face are more recognizable, and just makes them feel more real. 9. I’d rather see the Demogorgon over the Demodogs, Mind Flayer, and Vecna any day. 10. I still can’t watch Jamie Campbell Bower without expecting him to either A) start making sarcastic quips at Clary Fray, or B) suddenly start singing “Joanna”. 11. What really makes Stranger Things work in my opinion is it plays like an 80′s movie. Not just in the clothes, or music, or aesthetic. But it has the same formula as all those iconic 80′s adventure movies, which just doesn’t exist anymore. And those 80′s movies are still beloved for a reason. Stranger Things, especially at the start and still now, brings back that comforting feeling those movies gave us. But it gave us that nostalgia while still being something new we get to experience.

I recently watched the Netflix feature film Love in the Villa (2022). Protagonist Julie sets off on a trip to Italy for two weeks after her ex-boyfriend, who broke up with her just before the trip, and finds that her villa she booked was double-booked and currently occupied by an arrogant man by the name of Charlie. Charlie has come to Italy for work and Julie is a teacher on vacation. The two start out on bad terms, but begin to learn more about each other. Soon, they are discovering feelings for each other. However, after kissing at a party, Julie returns to the villa to find Charlie's girlfriend has come to surprise him. The next day or so, Julie's ex-boyfriend, Brandon, shows up claiming he made a mistake. Though Charlie and Julie decided to break off all connection when Julie learned about his girlfriend, both yearned for each other despite being with their respective partners. At the end of the film, Charlie breaks up with his girlfriend and runs to find Julie, only to see her ex proposing to her. He assumes he has lost his chance and walks away, but Julie realizes she doesn't love Brandon. Charlie finds out and runs to the villa they were staying at, where he confesses his true feelings he had been holding back the whole time and they lived happily ever after.
You may be wondering why I have elected to outline the plot of this seemingly random film for you. You may be wondering if there is a purpose to this ask. Indeed there is. I have reason to believe Mark Steven Johnson, who is known for his work as a writer on Christopher Robin (2018) and who directed and wrote this film, is a reader of your iconic Logan Delos fanfic A Chalet and a Storm (2017). As I am sure you recall, the reader in this story is an engaged teacher. She has travelled to a chalet, only to find it has been double booked and she must share with an arrogant man... These are not the only connections I have found between your work and this film. Like Charlie, Logan has also travelled for his job at a major company. Both male characters also have a conflict with their job obligations and their love interest. Additionally, both of the female characters are won back by the male love interest making a big gesture. I understand this last example is common in most films of this variety, but it is still worth noting.
In summary, the connections I have found after quickly re-reading your incredible story and suffering through Netflix's train wreck of a movie, are as follows: both female main characters are teachers who have or had a fiancé. They both find a man in the residence they have rented for 2 weeks. They both discover that the place has been double booked and for some reason they cannot find a new place to stay, thus are forced to share. The male character is reserved emotionally and works for a big company which has brought him to this location. Finally a different love interest brings the two main couples apart, the female realizes she is not in love with her original partner, and a grand gesture brings the two main characters together.
The first thing I thought when the premise of this movie was made clear was that I had read a significantly better fanfiction about this exact situation. I say we send this to Netflix and see what they have to say for themselves. If they are going to use the premise of one of the greatest fanfics that I have ever read (4 years later and I think about it regularly) they might as well use the whole thing because perhaps the movie might have done better. In 6 chapters, you elegantly told a touching story of two people meeting under unlikely and adverse circumstances and how significant connection can be even when given a choice between risk and stability, and in 1 hour and 54 minutes, Netflix came up with pranking someone into thinking they ate horse meat, plot device girlfriends, and chemistry and love about as believable as my (made up) European boyfriend. This movie will fade from my lexicon in a few months, but the impact A Chalet and a Storm had on me will have me returning to the series any time I need to be reminded that there is still hope for quality content to be made, or I simply want to read a damn good story.
@fvckoffbard I have seen that movie as well!!! And I agree that it could have been much better (especially because the pranks were way too mean, and didn't make for a believable love story even in my very low standards when it comes to cute romantic comedies... it is saying a lot).
I have to admit that I didn't think about my story at all (but then it has been several years since I have read it again) when I watched the film but all the points you are pointing out are weird coincidences to the point where maybe the writer did read my work at this point (are you lurking on tumblr, Mark?)
More seriously, despite these insettling common points, I didn't use the less cliché tropes for this one! So I guess we just both had good ideas.
But then, coming to the most important points : first, thank you for your dedication in watching this film to point out the similarities, you warrior!!!
Second, I am extremely touched and happy you still enjoy my fic after so much time and still care about it, it means the world.
Third, you should not be allowed to bring me close to tears with all your kind words about my work when I am about to go to bed but you are very sweet so I forgive you 💕💕
Thank you thank you thank you I'm so happy you still find meaning and enjoyment and even quality in my work 💕💕
I have to admit the past couple of years have been rough for me for personal reasons, and I struggle to write these days, which is why I haven't really posted anything in a long while. But I still want to come back and be more active in our wonderful fanfic community like I used to, and this kind of comments give me a lot of strength to allow myself to think I can write again as much and as easily as I used.
Thank you so much 💕💕💕

The best TV/ movie kisses in my humble opinion
I broke down the ranking into 3 categories for tv and 4 categories for movies. (1. Deep, passionate, sexy kisses that make me feel things 2. Soft, sweet, romantic kisses that make me kick my feet and giggle 3. Kisses that emotionally traumatized me 4. (For movies) they didn’t kiss but they wanted to kiss and should have)
So without further ado, spookymulder97’s best media kisses of all time:
TV
Deep, passionate, sexy kisses that make me feel things:
Nick/Jess first kiss (New Girl, 2x15)- this scene is burned into my memory and is what inspired this list in the first place
Stede/ Ed kiss in the captains quarters (Our Flag Means Death 2x6)- the way Stede grabs Ed and the way they grab each other is spicy
Amelia/Kai first kiss (Greys Anatomy 18x8)- I felt like this was building from the moment Kai was introduced, it started off as sweet but then they were kissing as if they wanted to devour one another
Soft, sweet, romantic kisses that make me kick my feet and giggle
Nick/Charlie first kiss (Heartstopper 1x3)- the ULTIMATE kicking my feet and giggling moment. The foot touching, the pinky holding, the sweet first kiss. It’s what I wish for every young queer person
Jamie/Dani first kiss (Haunting of Bly Manor 1x4)- I was rooting for Dani to be queer from the moment I saw her and this moment was just so sweet. I was rooting for them
Mulder/Scully NYE kiss (X-Files 7x4)- so soft and sweet. And then he puts his arm around her, heart eyes.
Kisses that emotionally traumatized me (and why)
Aziraphale/Crowley break up kiss (Good Omens 2x6) because “we could’ve been…us” I’m still crying
The doctor/ Rose Journey’s End kiss (Doctor Who 4x13) because 10 looking on was so sad. The kiss itself was amazing but the whole storyline was sad. Watched it once and then never again
Stede/Ed first kiss (Our Flag Means Death 1x9), while their first kiss was beautiful and did have me kicking my feet. What happened next broke my heart. In my head, Stede and Ed rowed off together
Movies
Deep, passionate, sexy kisses that make me feel things
Will/Elizabeth marriage kiss in the rain in the middle of a sword fight (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End)- they hard core smooched. In the rain. On a boat. In the middle of sword fighting. Need I say more?
Alex/ Henry kiss in the portrait room (Red, White, and Royal Blue)- holy crap! I could feel the heat through my screen
Tom/ Patrick kiss outside Patrick’s apt (My Policeman) -started off as a kind of sad moment but then they kissed and there was so much emotion in it
Soft, sweet, romantic kisses that make me kick my feet and giggle
Han/Leia first kiss (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back)- THAT CHEMISTRY!
Katniss/Peeta kiss on the beach (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire)- so tender, so sweet
Peter/ MJ upside down kiss (Spider-Man)- one word: ICONIC
Kisses that emotionally traumatized me and why
Ennis/Jack reunion kiss (Brokeback Mountain) mostly because their story makes me sad
Alex/Henry first kiss (Red, White, and Royal Blue) the kiss was so passionate at first but then Henry thinking he seriously messed up, leaving, and ghosting Alex hurt my soul for both of them
Harry/Cho kiss (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) kind of awkward and also sad because they were just talking about her dead boyfriend
They didn’t kiss but they wanted to and should have (and it made me kick my feet and squeal)
Druig/Makkari after Druig says “my beautiful beautiful Makkari” (Eternals)- need I say more?
Darcy/Elizabeth field scene (Pride and Prejudice)- “you have bewitched me body and soul” COME ON
Johnny/Baby during the love is strange dance scene (Dirty Dancing)- the tension between them! Johnny wanted to kiss her so bad

LEAK: “Woke” Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Reboot coming 2023
The news keep coming in today and while we’re sure there’s people that care about Sebastian Jones wondering about missing people in the United Kingdom, this is an actual big one: The cast list and concept art for a star-studded 2023 reboot of Roald Dahl’s iconic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has been leaked by a trusted source.
It seems the new movie is going the typically “woke” route, changing the genders of Violet Beauregarde and Augustus Gloop, as well as featuring a nonbinary incarnation of Willy Wonka.
“They wanted to go a more mature, maybe even a little sexy way with this film. They aged up the cast and made sure to fit each of the main characters into the contemporary zeitgeist of the time we live in.”
The source continues: “Veruca Salt will be played by Essence Woods. Their incarnation of Veruca is a shallow influencer who only "does it for the gram”. Her “death” is going to be pretty gory as far as my knowledge goes, they want to play with the horror movie trope of the hand in the garbage disposal. I heard that Essence was very pleasant on set, but seemed very insistent on not showing the finished product to her daughter.“
"Violet Beauregarde is a guy named Beau Beauregarde played by Hiroki Hamada. They wanted someone who knows how to skate, because there’s going to be an Oompa Loompa chase scene on a skateboard. As far as I know they really wanted to lean into this subgroup of people online who have a fetish for the blueberry transformation scene so that one’s like ten minutes long. Hiro donated his paycheck to charity and just did this whole project for fun.”
“A really interesting casting choice was Preston Barlowe as Charlie Bucket. He’s a young drug dealer trying to make enough money to keep his grandpa, who’s in a coma, alive, so when he gets the golden ticket off a dead body in an alleyway, he sees it as this crazy jackpot moment. He’s in a love triangle with Veruca and Beau. I heard Preston only did it because Vincent thought it was too dark.”
“Cole Addams plays Mike Teevee, who, in this incarnation, is one of Charlie’s clients, which is why he’s so resentful of him. They also took that TV addiction from the original and turned it into a porn addiction. I don’t know what they’re gonna do to him once he’s shrunk down but I heard that it’s the reason the film’s getting an R rating. Cole was high off his ass all through filming, people thought he was just going method.”
“They made Augustus Gloop into a woman named Augustine Goosh, apparently a reference to Andrea Jensen’s twin sister or something? I don’t know. She doesn’t even really eat that much chocolate in the movie, her gluttony is mostly related to validation. She’s really annoying and constantly needs to be validated by everyone around her, which is why they throw her in the chocolate river, which is where she’s eaten by licorice piranhas. Candie Rose acted the shit out of her death scene, it really sounded like she was getting mauled to death.”
“And in a very interesting turn of events they decided to cast SAINT as Willy Wonka? They do a pretty good job in the role but I just know a lot of people are gonna drag the performance just because of the choice to make Wonka nonbinary. I do think they went too hard on the sexuality here and there, but it’s a solid performance and there’s a scene where they monologue for like 5 minutes washing their hair with chocolate - test audiences cried because it was so touching.”
Other roles have reportedly gone to Elsa Bergström as Augustine’s mother, Dominic Torres and Axel Parrish as Chris and Chros, two gay oompa loompas, Indie Hall as drug addict and Goosh Jensen as Scrungus, Wonka’s ex wife.

Modern Times Final
This was like this fun weird mashup of a few different things. Not quite a silent movie, not quite a talkie. Not quite a romance, not fully a comedy. It feels like more like a Shakespearean comedy, where things aren't exactly fun the whole way through, but there's still a happy (I guess?) ending.
Charlie Chaplin is absolutely electric to watch. Every facial expression, movement, dance, walk, everything just catches your eye. He's a good actor when it's sad and a good actor when it's funny. There were absolutely some moments where I was laughing because he's just so skilled at what he does. In looking at the DVD back for this, it does look like this was the last movie with the Tramp. The female actor, Paulette Goddard, was absolutely great, too. Although Chaplin doesn't tend to take women along with him into his slapstick, they're absolutely involved in the drama, and Goddard did a great job of being basically the damsel in distress.
I thought the strongest part of this was definitely the way that it channeled frustration and upset over the Great Depression into some comedy, and some just plain commentary. The way it walks the line between the two is absolutely well played, nigh iconic. It kind of felt like Chaplin was doing the slapstick thing he was known for, and good at, but was itching to do some further dives into lives of the less privileged individuals in society during that time.
As I mentioned in one of my posts, slapstick can get cringey at a certain point, especially for loveable characters like this. You want to support him and root for him, but it just kind of gets embarrassing how he just messes up everything he touches, or gets blamed for someone else messing stuff up. After a certain amount of that, it just becomes heartbreaking, and you want him to just get a break. But maybe that's a little more where commentary on the Depression came in - there wasn't really a break for anyone, everyone just had to tough it out and slog through it.
Definitely a watch - if nothing else, then just to watch a master do what he does best.

movie ask: dead poets society!
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
Where do I even begin? This is absolutely one of my favourite movies, my n°1 comfort movie, despite it making me cry every time I watch it. Every time it feels like I'm watching it for the first time. This movie changed me, and ngl, I wish I watched it when I was younger, because I watched it when I was already 18, but despite that it felt, and unfortunately still feels, so personal and relatable, finally i saw characters that were kinda like me and were going throu the same struggles : Todd's whole personality is scaringly similar to mine while Neil's enthusiastic personality is a bit far from me, but his need to be his true self and wanting to do all sort of things really resonated with me, not to talk about his single line "I'm trapped", still haunts me to this day. Before I start crying lmao, I'm a sucker for the dark academia aesthetic it's absolutely one of my faves, so it really works for me + the movie is set in the 50s during autumn/winter!!! I would love to make an infinite essay about all the characters, scenes and iconic quotes, but even with that I won't make this movie justice lol. To conclude, this movie really changes your point of view on how you see life, even if it has a sad and bitter ending, through the tears you get this courage and inspiration to be yourself and to do what you really like, to start really living and to go out and scream like Charlie "To be indeed a god".

Roadtrip - Charlie Gillespie
Tumblr media
a/n: just a daydream I had when I saw this GIF. It’s not proofread. I’m open to requests.
Words: 2k
---------------------------------------
You and Charlie were on a road trip from LA to Oklahoma and last to Chigaco. Your boyfriend had to move there due to the fact that he got cast in a movie and you were fortunate enough to move with him, being able to work from home. It wasn't your idea to drive all those miles via car, but Charlie doesn't like flying so he avoided it at all cost and because you love him, you accompanied him for those dreadful hours.
It was way too early for your liking, of course Charlie knew that and put up with your grumpy, nontalkative mood, simply shoving a large cup of coffee into your hands. “Ma cœur, how much longer until you're more awake to talk to me?” Charlie asked after a while, as he glanced over to you on the passenger side, his free hand tracing little hearts on your thigh. You yawned and took a sip of the now lukewarm coffee. “About this much.” You measured the amount still in the cup, making him chuckle.
You and Charlie have been dating for nearly one and a half years now, however it feels like it's been much longer. From the start, the two of you were attached at the hip, instantly comfortable around each other. Everybody said that you two moved too fast because you moved in with each other after only three months of dating, but because of Covid you didn't want to risk being apart. Even though objectively speaking, you and Charlie were not the same, you were more daydreaming than actually paying attention and you didn't need the adrenaline in your life, you completed him in a magical way.
Right now you two were two hours in, the coffee was empty and you ass already sore from all the sitting. It was something you always despided about yourself, you could spend all day laying in bed, but you couldn't sit still, changing position every now and then. Tapping your foot to the beat of the song streaming from the radio. Charlie calmly hummed along to the song, his fingers also tapping along. You looked over at him and couldn't love him more.
“Are you excited to see Owen and Jer?” You asked him, breaking the silence. A breathtaking smile overtook his face “You know it! How about you?” You nodded, also excited to see the boys again. “Mhm. I missed them a lot.” The song on the radio changed and you huffed in annoyance, you hated that song. Sensing that, Charlie took out his phone and connected it to the car.
“Charlie! Don't drive and be on your phone!” You snapped it out of his hand, giving him a displeased look. Scrolling through Spotify you eventually choose a song to your liking. 18 by OneDirection blared through the speakers, while you put the volume higher you turned in your seat. “I have loved you since we were 18. Well technically 20 but that's a detail.” You whispered the last part. He scrunched his nose in amusement, a quirk you loved dearly.
The two of you screamed lyrics at the top of your lungs, the car driving on an empty highway. The rest of the world fading away, leaving the two of you in a cozy little bubble of your own. The day continued just like that, the two of you singing to songs and just enjoying the company. You loved seeing him drive, something about it was just so attractive to you, maybe it was the way his arms flexed when he moved the wheel, or the fact that you yourself were unable to drive. Even with your 21 years of life, you refused to sit behind the steering wheel and Charlie had tried several times, it always ended with you in tears.
“Do you want to stop somewhere to sleep? It's getting kinda late and you have been driving the whole day.” you questioned, looking at the horizon as the last beams of yellow and red vanished slowly. “Yes please. Can you search for a hotel around here?” Nodding, you took his phone and went onto google maps.
“There's one about two hours away in New Mexico. Reviews look good and the price isn't too high. Sadly no breakfast included, so we're gonna get you something on the road, not gonna let you starve, otherwise I will be stranded here.” He gave your thigh a playful slap and a squeeze “Yeah, yeah love you too, Char. I will look it up… Ah perfect! There's a Dunkin Donuts five miles from the hotel. Does that sound good babe?” He hummed in approval.
“Ah a man of words!” he took one of your hands and gave it a light kiss. “You know me. I always wanted to be a Mime.” he joked.
Before you knew it, the car came to a stop in the pitch black. Only a little yellow neon sign lighting up the hotel parking spot.
“This looks like this one Teen Wolf episode…” you murmured, not feeling the best about this place. “You’re just saying that because you're scared of the dark ma cœur. I'm here to protect you. No Monsters are harming you tonight.” he teased, getting out of the car. In typical Charlie fashion, he walked around the car and opened your door and held out a hand for you, immediately intertwining your fingers.
You smiled up at him, squeezing his hand. “Ha ha…”
The two of you were happy to finally walk off the stiffness of your legs, as you walked over to the reception.
“Hello. We would have a room please.”
The receptionist was in his late 30s, his greying hair falling messily in his eyes and a big smile sat on his thin lips. “No Problem. Is a king bed alright with the two of you?” he didn't want to assume anything. You and Charlie chuckled, nodding slightly “Preferred actually.”
Five minutes later, you waited in the room 345 while Charlie insisted on getting your bags. Stretching, you tried to get rid of the soreness in your back, your eyes nearly falling shut.
Charlie opened the doors, giving you a tired smile. “Let's get to bed. Tomorrow we rise early!” you groaned, making him chuckle. Standing up, you walked over to him, your arms wrapping around his familiar frame. He was stroking your head, giving it a kiss before walking into the bathroom to brush his teeth.
In the meanwhile you changed your clothes, changing from some jeans and one of his hoodies to sweatpants and an oversized shirt.
You gave him a hasty kiss as he came out of the bathroom, smelling the mint of the toothpaste still lingering on his lips. After you washed your face and brushed your teeth, you let yourself fall into the bed. His arms sneaking around your waist, pulling you closer into him.
“Thank you.” Turning around to face him, you traced his features with your fingertips “For what?”
“Coming on this drive with me. You could have easily convinced me to fly, you know.”
“I know mon amour.” you said, looking into his eyes, as you tried your best to keep yours open. You left several kisses on his bare shoulders until your lips met his. He smiled into the kiss and then nuzzled his head into the crook of your neck, pecking it several times before stopping.
“Good night. I love you.”
“Good night babe. Love you more.”
The next morning came way too fast and you didn't want to move out of his comfortable and safe arms into the cold car, but you had to. The sunrise hadn't even begun, the sky still a dark blue, when the two of you drove into the Dunkin drive through, to get you a coffee and a donut. You had to have something sweet in the mornings.
“Actually, I saw a little restaurant on the way here that should have takeaway, do you mind if we take a quick stop?” you shook your head, trying hard not to fall asleep again. An idea ignited in your head and you sat up straighter. “What if we go live while you drive? Maybe I'll be more awake or I'll have stuff to read.” you requested, looking at your boyfriend with a slight pout.
“Sure thing. I'll bet they'll love it.” Smiling, you grabbed his phone from his hand and went into Instagram.
“Hey Char and y/n here.” you introduced while trying to balance the phone on the dashboard “Its freaking early and I’m nearly falling asleep so I thought you guys could entertain me a bit. Mister Gillespie over here isn't as interesting as you guys.” he pouted into the camera, you leaned forward quickly and gave him a kiss on the cheek. The chat was already flooding with hey’s and questions about your relationship and where you were going.
“Is it true that you sometimes talk french to Charlie?” you read from the chat, your eyes widening a little in surprise.
“Sometimes. I mean my french isn't the best but growing up in Europe, I picked up some stuff.”
“She’s just being humble, she understands a lot and her accent is hella cute.” Charlie piped in, pulling into the drive through he mentioned earlier. “Je vois que tu comprends." He said to you, a slight smile playing on his lips. You got lost in his eyes for a second before responding. “Of course I understand babe!” he grabbed your hand and kissed it softly while chuckling.
“OMG that was just so cute!” you read out loud from the chat. Blushing slightly, you giggled, “He loves to do stuff like that when he’s driving. Always showing affection in one way or the other.”
“Uhm next question...What are you two doing so early? Someone asks.” with an raised eyebrow you look over to your boyfriend “I think you can answer this.” you turned the camera a bit so he was more in frame. “We're going to Chicoago, Chigacoooo.” he quoted the iconic Victorious scene, his eyes scanning the road before him.
He got himself a cheese thing of some sort, you couldn't quite make out what it was and parked on the side of the road, getting his food ready in front of him.
He bit into his cheese thing while you sipped on your coffee conversing with the chat. Just earlier you had begged for music suggestions, telling them to send their best road trip songs. Charlie looked really good right now, his hair was pulled together in a bun and he was wearing a blue shirt. You on the other hand had your hair in a top bun and the same hoodie from yesterday, a wool blanket draped over your shoulders. You just wanted to ask if you could have a bite, when he got cheese all over his chin.
He laughed as he looked over to you. Before you knew what you were doing, you leaned forward in your seat. Your face mere inches away from his, you could feel his breath on your face. You stuck out your tongue and licked the cheese away, your eyes never leaving his.
Without giving it a second thought, you settled back into a comfortable position and took a sip from your coffee with a prominent smirk on your face. Leaving a dumbfounded Charlie and a screaming chat.
Not even an hour later the clip of you licking his chin, in maybe a bit of a too sexual way, went viral in the community.

MASTERLIST // PART 2 // PART 3
Tumblr media
She felt her hands start sweating as she saw the small circle slowly filling up, letting her know that the app was being downloaded. She knew what a dating app was, how it worked and what was its purpose, but never created her account, not that she needed it before because she had a boyfriend. Her roommate, on the other hand, was well acquainted with dating apps, and they’d spent nights swiping through the profiles together.
Now that she was single for the first time since she graduated from high school, her roommate and best friend had convinced her to download Tinder and have fun.
“You don’t even have to go and meet the guy, Y/N,” Jo had said with a beaming smile to encourage her when they met for coffee earlier that day, “just have a look and see if you find someone you’d want to talk to.”
She nibbled on her lip when the circle filled up entirely and the icon appeared on her screen, bright and inviting. Putting her phone down, she decided she’d create her account later, for now, downloading it was more than enough.
In her sophomore year, she broke up with her boyfriend because they couldn’t find time to be together, too busy with classes, exams, and part-time jobs. But that didn’t last long, ‘cause they got back together after three weeks.
Those three weeks ignited a spark in her, suddenly things were more exciting to her, and she didn’t feel like she was acting how others expected her to. Y/N felt a kind of freedom that made her go on a date with her co-worker, sure they just went for a coffee together once and decided that they were better off as friends, but that small rejection made her want to make that spark disappear.
Being with Lance made things easier, they knew each other since they were little, and that meant she didn’t have to open up to let him know her flaws and fears, because he knew her like the palm of his hand. Being with him made her feel safe, even when they were apart during his first year of college since she was a year younger than him and was still in high school when he left for college, but that safety net vanished when Lance decided he wanted to spend time overseas after he graduated from college. And it was useless to wait for him if he wasn’t even sure he wanted to come back.
Eight months later, Y/N felt that spark reigniting again, making her feel like she was missing something. Ever since Lance left, she spent too much time afraid to put herself out there. How can you let someone into your life and trust them to not hurt you? After all, she trusted Lance for so long just to get hurt because they didn’t want the same things, and their paths went in different ways. But Y/N knew she couldn’t hide much longer, she wanted to go out, have fun, go on dates and meet new people, she just didn’t know how to start.
Her phone vibrated with a new notification from her best friend, and she snorted at her text.
Jo: Any matches yet heartbreaker???
If only Jo knew she still wasn’t able to bring herself into making an account. Maybe she could choose the pictures first, plan her bio, and then create it. Planning that out was definitely better than staring at the app icon.
Y/N: Not yet, but I’ll let you know ;)
After an hour of scrolling through her photos, Y/N chose five pictures where she looked decent. Hell, she looked really hot in one or two of those, and she wasn’t going to act as if that wasn’t true.
“Here goes nothing,” she muttered to herself after her account was finally set up.
It was a strange feeling swiping through the profiles, reading their bios, and rolling her eyes at some of them. But after a few minutes, she started enjoying it, not even feeling bad if she didn’t match with a guy.
She smiled at the simple bio on her screen and swiped right, not even bothering to go through his other photos. He was cute, he seemed like he liked to have fun, and even though he was cute, he was also hot. A dangerous mix, but a really nice one.
It’s a match!
“Honey I’m home!” her best friend sang, entering  the living room.
“Shit Jo!” Y/N scolded the girl, “you scared me.”
“Why?” Jo faked an offended look, “were you sending dirty messages or something?”
“Oh shut up,” Y/N said, handing her phone over to her friend with a sheepish smile on her face, “check out my last match.”
“Okay, so he likes outdoor activities, he plays the guitar, and he has a cute smile,” her friend listed, swiping through his photos, “what are you waiting for, Y/N? Send him a message!”
“I was actually waiting for him to send one first,” she admitted, feeling her cheeks heat up, “you know I suck with conversations over chat.”
“But what if he’s waiting for you to talk to him, and you don’t do it,” Y/N looked at her friend and knew she was already making up a whole movie in her head, about how they could be soulmates, but they would never know if she didn’t send him a text.
“Fine!” She huffed and took her phone from her friend’s hands, “Do I send him a hello or what?”
“No, that’s too dry,” Jo replied, “you should ask him about where he took that picture, the one where he’s in the snow.”
She bit her bottom lip to distract herself from the fact that she felt as if her stomach was tied up in knots. He was really cute, and she had a good feeling about him, almost as if the universe was telling her to go for it, meet up with him and have fun.
Hesitating at first, she let her finger hover over the little “send” button for a few seconds, before pressing the screen and sending the text.
Y/N: Hey! Where did you take the first pic? The place looks great
“What now?” Jo looked at her with one of her eyebrows arched.
“We wait, you idiot.”
“I need to do something,” Y/N locked her phone and got up, “if I stay on that couch waiting for a reply I’m gonna end up with no nails.”
“I did your nails last night, Y/N, don’t ruin my work,” Jo complained, “why don’t you cook dinner today?, and I’ll wash the dishes, so you can text with that guy if he replies to you by the time we’re done eating.”
“I’m gonna ignore the fact that it was your turn, Jo” she pointed out but made her way to the kitchen anyway, “and you better wash, dry, and put the dishes back in the cabinets.”
Cooking was the perfect distraction, and the glass of wine she drank while they were eating helped her loosen up just enough to check her phone without feeling like she was getting back some important results.
Charlie: It’s in Canada Charlie: Sulphur Mountain Trail! Charlie: I like your smile btw
She smiled with excitement when she opened the app and saw those three messages, and just as she was about to respond, Charlie sent another one.
Charlie: How was your day??  Y/N: It was good, pretty relaxing actually Y/N: Yours?? Charlie: Great! I went hiking with a friend, so now I’m just chilling at home Y/N: I’m assuming you’re into hiking, don’t you??? Charlie: Hahaha yeah you’re right Charlie: I guess I enjoy being outside, it keeps my mind occupied
Y/N: I get it, I’m not really into outdoor activities Y/N: I mean Y/N: I don’t mind going on a hike once in a while, but I prefer reading, painting, or playing some music  Y/N: To keep my mind occupied
Five texts in a row. Was that too much? She didn’t want to appear intense, but she also didn’t want to send just one massive text and type it for way too long.
Charlie: You play an instrument?? Charlie: I love music Y/N: Yeah I play the piano Y/N: I just don’t have one with me now, so I haven’t played in a while Charlie: Oh! That sucks! Charlie: When I moved here I think I packed my guitars first and then the rest of my stuff
Y/N let out a soft laugh at his text, he did seem like the kind of guy to pack random stuff before things that he might actually need. She should’ve done the same, she missed playing the piano, and now that she was miles away from her parents’ house it wasn’t like she could just go and play. Especially because she didn’t even know how to drive a car.
Y/N: Should’ve done the same if I’m honest Y/N: Where are you from? You said you moved here
After reading his answer to her last question, she groaned in embarrassment because it was the most obvious answer, and yet she didn’t notice it.
Charlie: I’m Canadian
She lost track of time talking to him about things they both enjoyed doing, what was their favorite movie, favorite musician, and to her surprise it was so easy to talk to him about small things like that could help you a lot to get to know another person. Y/N got startled when Jo touched her shoulder to get her attention.
“I’m off to bed, babe,” Y/N dodged when her friend tried to ruffle her hair as if she was a little kid, “don’t go to bed too late.”
“I won’t mom,” she replied jokingly, “sweet dreams, Jo.”
With a heavy sigh, Y/N typed a message, telling him that she needed to get some rest and that she was hoping they could keep talking the next day.
Charlie: Do you mind if I ask you for your number?? Charlie: I’d love to call you or FaceTime with you if you’re okay with that
“Shit, shit, shit,” she whispered, wishing her best friend hadn’t gone to bed already. Of course, she wanted to give him her number, but was she supposed to give her number to the first guy she talked to on Tinder? “fuck it, I’m doing it.”
Y/N sent him her number and after telling him goodnight, she closed the app and got ready for bed. She really had a good feeling about this whole thing, and she couldn’t put her finger on what it was, because the feeling started even before they even matched.
Maybe it was just fate doing its work.

LT2 THEORY: about walls era, meaning of 369 changes in the smiley face, inspiration and references to "2001: a space Odyssey" all are things that went unnoticed, and all with quite a bit of spoilers;
I am going to explain what the film is and why Louis and Charlie were very inspired by it as they said and it serves a lot to understand the changes in everything else
- The first thing is to see the references and for that it is important to return to "walls video" and what perhaps seemed insignificant to us but has many parallels what we see today, so here the spoilers begin. The film addresses topics such as human evolution, technology, artificial intelligence and extraterrestrial life, it is characterized by the surreal and psychedelic as well as being a precursor in its branch and which has a lot of backgrounds with a philosophical touch something iconic for the time.
— escene one: "The dawn of man": the film begins in the desert where a group of animals begin the process of evolution and adaptation when they find a Euler brick or orthohedral block (monolith) that leads to portals and ok but it is quite significant not?

— Escene 2 : rumors of an epidemic make a group of scientists meet and embark on a journey under the surface of the Moon, to 5 astronauts where they find another "monolith" identical to the 1st, the problem here is that it is a suicide mission and none survive match two.
I can't believe how Louis made that reference and we didn't see it ok let's continue, the cause of death of the 5 are the sounds emitted by the monolith and their non-alignment with the elements and here there are references to Nietzsche and the "super man "

— Escene 3: "Mission to Jupiter" where there are 6 crew members: 3 in hibernation 1 artificial intelligence machine and 2 the protagonists: David and Frank and here comes the 3 parallelism of Louis on the dance floor with the movie ship.
In this new mission, both protagonists are not informed about what they are going to and their life on the ship is monotonous, even between the two they become friends and from loneliness they begin to talk with the artificial machine (HAL) all right until they both suspect that something bad is going to happen.

david and frank decide to talk secretly about HAL (the machine) which, in addition to being an artificial machine, fulfills the function of panopticon and well ... This is the crucial part and the link to the whole story because here it begins a before and after in the movie and oh coincidence panoptic parallelism 👁️
Tumblr media
HAL always controls them although they think that it is only a machine as I said, it is a panopticon (it sees everything) the machine upon learning of the secret of both decides to take revenge and in the most cruel way, what it does is decompose the machine with connection to the land what generates the pilots have to go to the outside. Frank is the one who offers himself and leaves David in charge of the arrangement inside and that is when Hal (the machine) kills Frank and even though David tries to rescue him it is too late and not only HAL killed Frank but the other 3 hibernating crew.
What leaves David alone on the ship and instead of crying what he seeks is revenge and this is where HAL continues to torment him to the point of distorting the memories in his mind (which is a wink to this part of the walls mv).
From the center of the ship while the machine looks for mercy and asks him to think who the real enemy is, David still disconnects him but hal leaves a video where one of the scientists of the 1st suicide mission is the same one who sent him to this to investigate the "monolith".

— Escene 4: "Júpiter and beyond infinity": with that ending comes the last chapter of the movie where, months later, David arrives at Jupiter finding the "monolith" that, as he approaches, takes the appearance of a door that opens more psychedelic spaces than Louis and Charlie used in "The live london".
The psychedelic scenario changes and everything continues to be seen from the point of the panoptic eye where David is now in mirrors that appear copies and copies of David younger to older and the monolith again in its older version (wink wink or coincidence to coacoac) You know 🌝
The ending of the movie is super complex, like the movie itself, because there are many references, but suddenly, David takes the form / copy of a fetus inside a transparent sphere, then floating in outer space above the Earth, which implies evolution of your copies.
How do you know coacoac is difficult to pigeonhole into "walls album" because in turn it seems that it belongs but no, for me it represents the transition between the old and the new Louis. Coacoac is an autobiographical description of his life and his experiences the power that others can identify with him.
Because if coacoac is the walls transition in the desert, it represents his life before becoming an artist, that is why he chose this film and his inspiration in oasis and within the video he enters other dimensions through the gates of the monolith that, as in the film, are different versions Of his past.
Then he goes to his stage in 1D what is related to the part of the moon in the movie and how all that ended, then the part of David and Frank is his solo era, all the obstacles and losses he had and how just like David did not he gave up and that's where coacoac enters the transition to lt2
Because for me the panopticon represents all those entanglements that he had / has with his record company, that is why now he is even using them in the merch and photos since the panoptics are always symbols of a power that it is difficult to finish it and expose it also Louis has an incredible mind and he is a fan of references and that everything always has a framework like all the videos on walls that do not have an easy order to say because he broke with that and goes from back to front because they are also different spheres and it depends on how you look at it. interpretation, so...
The importance of the film lies in the power to reinvent itself and as we constantly live experiences that seem from other worlds, that is why the smiley face has 6 transitions that are not actually erasing it, it is rebuilding it as it did with its mv and its nods to the movie.

to finish this analysis I put more references first from the beginning of walls louis use merch of the film and its director and in his merch the relationship to 369 with the film and if you look at the number of protagonists are always 3, 6 and 9 in addition to the kinetic art and the various monoliths in the 369 merch:
