the thing about the managerial search is a) we still don't have a director of football b) while people can look at a manager's team and see their tactics and style of play until they actually get to spurs you won't know if they'll be a success or not (hello look at the last 2 serial winning managers we've employed) c) this fanbase is at a point where there is no magical unifying manager, I'm not even convinced poch would have managed it, everyone is angry all of the time towards all sorts of different things but using any manager we're linked with as a way to bash the club before they've even set foot in an interview room is a waste of everyone's time and more importantly MINE because i have to read all that shit

In this round of the Premier League, Chelsea drew 2-2 with Tottenham. The actions of the two coaches Conte and Tuchel on the sidelines were also eye-catching. The two clashed twice and eventually received red cards.
First, after Hojbjerg scored, Conte provoked the Chelsea bench while celebrating, which made Tuchel very angry.
Tuchel thought there was something wrong with Tottenham's goal, with Bentancur fouling Havertz before they scored. Nine minutes later, Chelsea also scored, and Tuchel, like Mourinho, celebrated wildly along the touchline.
After the game, Conte and Tuchel clashed again. At that time, the two sides shook hands, but Tuchel did not let go. Conte was angry, the conflict was staged again, and others rushed to persuade. Both coaches received red cards.
Regarding his conflict with Conte after the game, Tuchel said that he was angry because Conte did not make eye contact with him when he shook hands with him, which is disrespectful. Everyone was very emotional, but the red card was unnecessary and many of the penalties in the game were bad.
Tuchel said that Chelsea's performance was very good. He had to point out that neither Tottenham's goals should have been there. There is only one team worthy of the victory, and that is Chelsea, but the team failed to get what it deserved. the result of.

TOTTENHAM News: Board adamant on Emerson Royal sales and reveals cheap price tag for Clubs
TOTTENHAM News: Board adamant on Emerson Royal sales and reveals cheap price tag for Clubs
This is the latest TOTTENHAM News with Tottenham board really standing to their feet for Emerson royal sales as they reveal cheap price tag on his head. Tottenham Hotspur want to reclaim the £22 million they paid for Emerson Royal last summer, according to The Times. Spurs are apparently interested in Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence (Football Insider), with the 21-year-old poised to compete with…

this may sound idiotic but were conte's tactics last season the same as they are now or not??? because if they aren't, then how come he's discarding tactics that obv got the best out of the players. i keep having this similar line of thought about chelsea and tuchel because why would they sack him if his impact is obvious??????/// this league and this sport are so confusing
i'm gonna be honest the nitty gritty of tactics and formations and stuff quite often goes over my head. but i can tell you what i see with my eyes and this year we are just not attacking and we're not pressing the opposition. part of that is the wing backs aren't getting high enough up the pitch most of the time so we're playing with a back 5 and we sit back and let the opposition come on to us and do nothing to stop it. i guess the idea is to let them come on to us, knick the ball and score on the break? but that's not happening, we're letting the opposition walk the ball in to the fucking net. i dont know why he has us playing like this when the players are clearly struggling with it.
i think with tuchel we have to remember that the new owners had come in. clubs often sack the manager when they've been taken over and it was clear that tuchel and boehly didnt get on. i know tuchel has a rep for falling out with the higher ups at clubs but boehly is fucking idiot who should have just let tuchel get on with it - i think he would have turned it around. last season he got them top 4 despite the chaos going on with the sanctions and they had injuries to chilwell and james who were a big part of how tuchel played. this season he had new signings to bed in and chilwell was slowly coming back from a big injury - i think he'd have got there eventually injuries permitting, because they weren’t bad their form was just patchy and now they are straight up bad

Who is to blame for the downfall in recent years at Tottenham Hotspur? And what’s next for Spurs?
It’s only been 4 years since Tottenham Hotspur competed in their first ever UEFA Champions League final and despite losing 2-0 to Liverpool, Spurs fans were excited to see what the future would bring.
With what seemed to be the perfect coach and a team full of potential, they looked ahead to more cup runs and potentially their first trophy since 2008.
Fast forward to the present day and Tottenham sit in 6th place, struggling to qualify for any European competition after sacking their manager and then also their interim manager.
With fans becoming more and more restless and with repeated calls for owner, ENIC group to sell the club, what has gone wrong?
Daniel Levy is the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, and although Joe Louis’ ENIC group hold a majority stake in ownership, Levy also has shares meaning he essentially has the role of chairman and owner. He took over from entrepreneur Alan Sugar in 1991 and has since built a brand recognised around the world, a new stadium which is widely regarded as the best in Europe and facilities that seemingly every player would dream of training on. But things aren’t going as well as he and ENIC might have hoped. With only 1 trophy to their name – the Carling Cup (League Cup) – won in 2008, fans would have expected a better return and are now starting to point fingers.
instagram
Lucas Moura scoring the winner for Spurs against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
Despite a 15-year drought in silverware, Spurs have still had some exciting times. The most recent being a spot in the UEFA Champions League final in 2019 against fellow English club, Liverpool. But with a hugely disappointing display and result, what followed was the sacking of one of the most popular managers among the fans in recent times, Mauricio Pochettino. Daniel Levy swiftly moved on with the appointment of serial winner, Jose Mourinho but without even completing his second season, he faced the same punishment as his predecessor. Next in the hotseat was a manager who had won titles at every club he’s been, similar to Jose Mourinho.  And after a very brief spell with Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte was the latest ex-Chelsea manager to join the Lilywhites but yet again, he was sacked before finishing his second season having not won a trophy. What Conte did do though, was take aim at the club in his last ever press conference in Spurs colours, speaking words that Tottenham fans found all too familiar and agreeing with majority of what he had to say. Now without a manager again, supporters are starting to feel that the blame should be shifted from the manager/players to those higher up.
I recently spoke to Spurs fan and host of the podcast, ‘The Fighting Cock’, Flav Bateman on what he felt was going wrong at the club and why his team are struggling so much.
“Daniel Levy’s the main problem.
“He’s made bad mistake after bad mistake. If Daniel Levy was an employee of Daniel Levy, would he have fired himself by now? And probably he would.”
He also spoke about how little pressure is on the Tottenham chairman on getting it right.
“There’s no consequence to Levy getting things wrong because he owns the football club”
Recently, Sky Sports cameras picked up banners and signs saying, ‘LEVY OUT’ and despite Flav claiming that Levy felt under no pressure when making mistakes, he insisted that these messages from the fans would still have a big impact on the Tottenham chairman.
“What the fans can do is make it difficult for him. And that’s what we saw with the banners against [Manchester] United.
“He’s noticing that. He wants that to go away. That isn’t a good look on TV when he’s trying to do business with brand deals”.
Steve Perry is also a Spurs fan and has been since 1965. He’s experienced “great memories and teams over the years”. But even he felt that the club are in need of a change.
“Unfortunately under ENIC, Spurs will never return to the glory days of winning trophies.
“Our only hope is we get a mega rich buyer with money to burn. It’s not the way it should be but the club with the largest wallet wins the most trophies”
He was of course making reference to Manchester City finding success after being bought by The Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008.
Despite making claims that mass amounts of money needed to be spent in order to get the club on the right track again, he also said how there was another big factor that Spurs had continuously gotten wrong.
“There is a lot of criticism of recruitment and this is another huge factor in our failure to achieve footballing success, we waste money recruiting badly.
“Players such as: Walker, Vertonghen, Dembele and Eriksen all left and were replaced by players of inferior quality”.
Tottenham have indeed spent “not insignificant sums of money” as described by Flav but as Steve mentioned, none of the players have made the impact that the manager and fans would have wanted, leading them to blame the man who was responsible of the transfers before getting suspended for ‘false accounting’, former Director of Football, Fabio Paratici. It was later found out that Daniel Levy appointed Paratici having already known that the Italian could face a two-and-a-half-year ban.
Steve Perry spoke about the importance of the Daniel Levy’s next step as Tottenham chairman as well as the consequences that his previous actions could have.
“Appointing a director of football already under suspicion together with a manager who has a reputation of staying at a club for two seasons with clearly no onward plan, the next appointment is crucial for Levy and the club.”
Whoever the next manager of this club will be is currently anyone’s guess. With fans throwing up names like Mauricio Pochettino & Julien Nagelsmann, no one is really sure what the direction of this club looks like. But one thing seems certain among the fanbase, Daniel Levy is not welcome to stay and find out.

Romano confirms…no penalty for leaving like at Tottenham
Tumblr media
Antonio Conte and Napoli have reportedly not inserted an early termination clause into his contract.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano, who is well versed in European soccer news, wrote on his social media account on Monday (Jan. 1), “Conte will stay at Napoli. The details have been agreed upon. Conte will sign a contract until June 2027,” the report said.
Conte has been in the wilderness since stepping down as manager of Tottenham Hotspur. Conte accepted the Spurs job in November 2021, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo. Conte's first season was deemed a success, as the club finished in fourth place.
However, his second season was problematic. The team's results dropped in his second season and he was under increasing pressure. In this situation, Conte dropped a bombshell. “I think it”s the right time to speak out because after this game I think it"s unacceptable. I see selfish players on the pitch,” he criticized.
He eventually parted ways with Tottenham. He left the team in March 2023 by mutual consent. Spurs were then coached by Christian Stellini and Ryan Mason for the remainder of the season. Conte has been in the wilderness for over a year and two months now.
As the end of the season approached, he was linked to a number of clubs. Napoli was one of them. Conte had already been linked to Napoli in January, when he was spotted watching a match in person. However, he wasn't in charge at the time.
It looks like the end of the season has finally brought about a re-discussion. Napoli won the Italian 토토 Serie A title for the first time in 33 years last season, but the team finished the season below expectations. After the departure of Luciano Spalletti, the team was managed by Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri, and Francesco Calzona, but finished the season in 10th place in the league.
Napoli were in contact with Conte shortly after the end of the season, with Italian outlet Sport Mediaset reporting that “Conte and Napoli have grown closer. President De Laurentiis has authorized the finalization of negotiations with an offer of €8 million for a three-year contract.”
They have an open-ended contract. According to Romano, “Conte's Napoli contract does not contain any special clause for the early termination of his contract. It runs until June 2027 with no release clause. There is no official amount or guarantee on paper for the early termination of the contract.”
In recent years, clubs have been sacking managers without completing their contracts, often with large penalties. Thomas Tuchel, who left Bayern Munich with immediate effect, was reportedly hit with a €10 million penalty. However, Napoli have no such contract with Conte.
Conte has never been in charge of a team for more than three years, except for his time at Juventus. He never made it to his third season at Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. During his time at Spurs, Conte's contract was mutually terminated after he failed to fulfill his contractual obligations due to discord with the players. Napoli seem to have a failsafe in place for him.

Who will replace Pochettino as Chelsea FC Head Coach? No-one seems to know
Who is going to replace Pochettino, and become our new Head Coach? Some say Enzo Maresca, the Leicester manager who worked under Pep Guardiola. Others, Kieran McKenna, the Ipswich manager, who worked under Sir Alex Ferguson. Unfortunately, I'm not overly familiar with either manager name, so I can't express an opinion, either way. Were it up to me, I'd approach either Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte. However, we live in an era where (seemingly at least) results are taking a back seat to the need for alignment with the owners' "vision" (whatever that may be) for our beloved club. I don't think that Mourinho or Conte would put up with interference, so … let's see who the next "annointed one" is. Ruben Amorim, the Sporting Lisbon manager, seems to be a dark horse, and my preferred choice, out of the realistic names being bandied about … purely on the strength of his reputation. At the moment, though, I haven't got a clue as to what will actually happen - and, interestingly, no-one else seems to have any, either.

Keep, Loan, Sell: What Lies Ahead for The Current Spurs Squad
Newcomers and outgoers have helped develop the squad for Ange’s vision - so what’s next?
Tumblr media
For a squad the size of Spurs, it was still unsurprising to see the team struggle through poor form when injuries and suspensions struck hard after the November home match against Chelsea. Despite being high-flying and unbeaten until that match, it was clear to any Spurs fan looking at what Postecoglou had that the team lacked squad depth to play the way the coach wanted. Although the coach could still put out a strong starting 11, the players on the bench - or even further - were still very much players from the past eras of defensive football under Mourinho and Conte.
Despite some talented players coming in and remaining valuable to Postecoglou, there’s still a fair share of players whose time - for at least next season - might be best spent away from the team, either rebuilding their careers elsewhere or getting valuable game time.
This blog is by no means meant to slander or say that any players in the loan or sell section are bad; however, no player is over the club, and for new players to come in, current players will have to make their way out. For academy players, loans are a chance to get senior football under their belt in hopes of eventually making it into the first team. The list also has to consider homegrown rules, particularly ones concerning UEFA football, as it requires at least four players from the academy in the A team.

Tumblr media
The Spurs captain has the most goal contributions this season.
Guglielmo Vicario: He has arguably been the best goalkeeper transfer in the Premier League this season, although a lack of clean sheets from Spurs’ high (and, at times, exploitable) defensive line has worsened the look of his debut season for the neutrals.
Fraser Forster: If his foot injury isn’t too bad, he remains a valuable number 2 or 3 for the squad, bringing experience to a young side.  He signed a contract extension until 2025 this season and has little resale value, but he should be staying regardless of his role next season.
Alfie Whiteman: With UEFA’s stingy rules and another homegrown goalkeeper likely leaving in the summer, Whiteman’s likely here to stay at least until his contract ends next summer. He’s currently 4th choice keeper, though.
Cristian Romero: The World Cup winner isn’t going anywhere, with him receiving vice-captaincy and massively reducing his card collection this season. He brings a lot of experience in an inexperienced backline.
Micky van de Ven: The speedy Dutchman has bailed the team out on multiple occasions this season and is vital when fit, but his hamstring injuries may be something to watch.
Radu Dragusin: A new January signing still adjusting to the Premier League, he was signed as depth in a position that desperately needed someone, and he’s done fine so far. It would be great to see him play at RCB more, as his passing range seems limited in LCB.
Ben Davies: He probably won’t be sold for a meaningful price, and his contract ends in 2025 anyway, so the best option for everyone is for him to stay. He covers depth in two positions, doesn’t complain and can work with the academy for his coaching badges - a win-win scenario for everyone.
Destiny Udogie: It’s only been his first season in the Premier League, yet he is already one of the best left-backs this season - maybe even the best.
Pedro Porro: He has completely changed his reputation for the better. He’s been amazing, and I hope he starts sharing more set pieces with Maddison.
Yves Bissouma: With his inconsistency, it’s unsure whether his long-term future remains here, but at his best, he is unplayable; he just needs to concentrate more, as losing the ball has resulted in goals - or at least very high-quality shots - on more than one occasion.
Rodrigo Bentancur: His best will have to wait until next season, but we’ll all be there! He showed a lot of promise between his ACL and his ankle injury but hasn’t reached those levels yet, and that’s okay.
Pape Matar Sarr: He has easily been our best and most consistent midfielder this season; his work-rate is truly impressive. He’s been an absolute joy to watch, too - it’s hard to believe he’s only 21 sometimes, but he must be among the top 10 most promising U21 players in the Premier League this season. The legs he brings to this team are borderline unbelievable.
Oliver Skipp: This is primarily due to the UEFA rules, as this choice wouldn’t benefit Spurs or Skipp in the long run. He’s our leading academy player and the closest to being a starter, even if he hasn’t been on the bench lately and hasn’t played in months. However, he seemed promising when on, trying his best in an unfamiliar eight role (as a traditional number 6) and putting the legs in. He also had some nice long balls. Ideally, he would get a loan for game time, but that’s not how football works.
James Maddison: Although he hasn’t hit his pre-injury levels this season, he’s a fantastic creator for us on his day. For whatever reason, he’s been dropping deeper lately when he used to operate as almost a 2nd striker at times before, which is severely limiting his attacking output in set pieces, which is a real shame because we don’t have any like-to-like replacement for him. Again, he should be sharing set-piece duties with Porro more often, and his injury record is another thing to keep an eye on.
Son Heungmin: An obvious choice as club captain and a legend at the club. Since he’s not getting any younger, he’ll likely be used more as a striker since his pace will likely decline, but his clinical finishing won’t. He’s not an Ange winger but an upgrade on Richarlison.
Richarlison: Some want to sell him, and some want to keep him. The club invested £60m or so in him, and he should be given the time to repay that through goals unless there’s a massive offer for him. He’s a different profile from Son, which the club needs.
Brennan Johnson: An impressive upturn of form after heavy criticism of his performances. He’s still young and has a very high ceiling. It’s easy to forget that players don’t choose their price tag, and it’s also the fans’ job to keep supporting and backing their players as long as it’s clear they’re putting effort behind the scenes.
Dejan Kulusevski: Despite his poor form in recent games, there’s no real reason to let him go, especially with his work-rate and versatility. While he’s far from an Ange winger, he has the work ethic, and it’s hard to see Spurs selling him - poor form happens with every player; he’s only 23, and patience is necessary.
Loan
Tumblr media
Ashley Phillips has impressed on loan this season at Plymouth Argyle.
Ashley Phillips: This decision heavily depends on whether Spurs sign a senior centre-back in the summer. If so, Phillips would benefit from another senior loan, either in a better Championship team or a weaker Premier League team. If not, then Phillips’ development may come with the senior team.
Alfie Dorrington: Impressing with the U21 side, a senior loan would be the best for Dorrington’s development. With Dorrington and Phillips having bright futures ahead of them, Spurs may not have to look for long-term defensive options in the summer, depending on how both of their profiles mature or change with more senior football.
Alfie Devine: He’s impressed with his initial loan at Port Vale, helping the team get to the quarter-finals of the League Cup. His second loan at Argyle with Phillips has been slightly more disappointing. However, he appears to be playing in a somewhat different role than usual - he was recently sent off in his former England coach Ian Forster’s last game in charge of the team for a bad challenge. Given that this is only his first year on loan, another could be useful before he (hopefully) gets a chance on the first team.
Jamie Donley: Another youngster who’s impressed in the academy, becoming an assist machine, mainly shown in the team’s 6-0 win in the club stadium. He’s made a few late-game cameos in the first team during Spurs’ injury and suspension crisis - notable moments include winning an aerial duel against Haaland in that match and pulling Maupay’s shirt in that other match. He’s already one of our own just for that.
Lucas Bergvall: Perhaps this is a shout to the clouds, as many fans want to see him play in the first team as soon as his time in Sweden ends. That said, the Swedish league is another level from the Premier League, and he’s just turned 18. A loan within England would likely be the best option unless Postecoglou decides in pre-season that he’s ready.
Yago Santiago: He’s 20 and needs a loan unless he’s getting sold to another academy. However, academy watchers say he’s been highly promising and could be what Ange needs from his attackers.
Dane Scarlett: It would feel unfair not to give one more shot at a decent loan; he’s been unlucky this season with Ipswich’s unexpected promotion charge, and the team had no reason to play an inexperienced 20-year-old over any of the senior options. His performances for the England youth side also appear to be promising.
Will Lankshear: Much like Donley but switch assists for goals, the two have formed their little Harry-Son pair, with Donley providing the assists for Lankshear. He recently made his name known for his 11-minute hattrick at the Tottenham Stadium, making it the fastest. He said he plays like a traditional, old-school number 9, so should his development go well, the team could have a serious goalscorer on their hands.
Alejo Veliz: His current loan at Sevilla is faltering, despite being given the number 10 shirt and high praise from the coach (don’t forget the Sevilla admins on Twitter constantly Spurs-baiting fans). Rumours say that Spurs will send him out on loan again next season, with Bournemouth being one of the linked names. Though it won’t happen should Solanke remain, Bournemouth would be the perfect club for Veliz’s development if he gets sold.
Sell
Tumblr media
Hojbjerg’s future at Spurs is over as long as Ange is at the helm.
Japhet Tanganga: Although his loan at Augsburg could only be described as disastrous, his current time at Millwall couldn’t be any more different as he’s a regular starter and recently scored his 1st and 2nd senior goals there. It’s always a shame when academy players don’t appear to have a future at the club, but it seems like his career will be spent away from Spurs.
Djed Spence: He’s currently on loan at Genoa as part of the Dragusin deal. He’s received praise but hasn’t regularly played 90 minutes, either. Given that Ange already had a good look at him in the pre-season and said, “Nope,” it seems like a sale is inevitable.
Sergio Reguilon: He’s been on so many loans and has struggled with fitness issues, although he’s a starter for Brentford with Henry injured for the season. He was OK for Manchester United early this season but isn’t technical or defensive enough to play as an inverted fullback. Another player that was also looked at in pre-season anyway.
Joe Rodon: With Rodon having a great season as a starter for Leeds as they continue their charge for automatic promotion, he’s the player with the highest value for Spurs, and the club will likely try to maximise profit. Although he’s not bad, he’s not at Spurs’ level but would do fine in any lower team in the Premier League. It would be great to see him continue with Leeds, but without a buy option, it seems unlikely that he’ll stay a second season there, especially if they fail to get promoted to the Premier League.
Emerson Royal: If Spurs will keep Ben Davies, then Royal is an easy shoo-in for this category. With Dragusin in and Royal needing to be more adept to play as an inverted fullback, his time under Ange is likely up, no matter how many (frankly fantastic) rap songs he writes or how many vibes he has. Rumours say Saudis are sniffing around, and Spurs should be looking to sign a better fullback anyway.
Tanguy Ndombele: This probably won’t happen, but his time in Galatasaray has been unsuccessful, and despite his heavy price tag, his work ethic is severely lacking. Regardless of the reasons, his future does not lie at the club, and his contract ends in 2025, so this summer would be the last chance for him to get a fee before he leaves for free.
Giovani Lo Celso: He’s a bit of a fan favourite, and it’s easy to tell why. However, his injury record is poor, and with Maddison not boasting a great one either, it would be in his best interests to cut someone off and bring someone more consistent. He’ll probably want more game time with how he performs internationally.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: He was brought for a different style of play, which he did well at, but he no longer fits the new attacking play Ange has brought to the club, which is a shame because he’s clearly a good character and still puts in the work despite pushing for an exit last summer. He’s still an excellent player under the right coach, and although the period he was here wasn’t the most pleasant, fans can still be proud and thank him for his performances.
Bryan Gil: A player with the right profile for this team but isn’t built for the physicality of the Premier League. He’s very much a Laliga player and will probably go back there. It’s still slightly baffling why he didn’t choose to go on loan in January, especially when he hasn’t made it in the squad in months.
Troy Parrott: His loan at Excelsior has brought the attention of potential suitors. Again, it’s always a shame when academy players don’t work out for the senior team, but it’s for his career and the club's direction.
Release
Tumblr media
Despite being 3rd choice goalkeeper ahead of Whiteman, Austin’s contract ends this summer.
Brandon Austin: Our only player whose contract ends this summer. Although he’s ahead of Whiteman in the pecking order, Spurs don’t seem to be preparing him for a contract extension anytime soon and at 25, he needs to kickstart his career away from his boyhood club - for whom he’s never made a senior appearance for (Whiteman has made one).
The Left Winger Conundrum
Tumblr media
Timo Werner has made an impact during his loan at Spurs.
Manor Solomon: He injured his meniscus in training in October and got minor knee surgery, but hasn’t featured since September after suffering a few setbacks. His most notable feature was the two assists he provided in the Burnley away game for Son’s hattrick, but he didn’t make any real impact in his other appearances. Signed on free from Shakhtar due to the UEFA rules surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war, it would make sense for Spurs to sell him for a fee to free up space for a new left winger touted as “Son’s successor.” It doesn’t seem like Solomon has a long-term future in the team anyway, with Johnson and Werner having more significant impacts on the left wing. Hopefully, he recovers before the summer transfer window ends to help his market value. Of course, geopolitical situations elsewhere may also be playing a role…
Timo Werner: He’s currently on loan from Leipzig with a buy clause of around £15m. Although his finishing still leaves a bit to be desired, he’s pacey and surprisingly good at finding white shirts inside the box. He’s said he’s enjoying playing for Spurs and being in the environment has likely helped his confidence. He’s still not an Ange winger, but he’s the second-closest fit behind Johnson and is a slightly different profile from anyone else the team has. Should Spurs go into the market and purchase an excellent left winger for a respectable price, Werner can provide good cover, rotation, and experience without causing too much of a fuss. However, his wages and age are worth considering, as he’ll likely have to take a wage cut, and he’s closer to 30 than not. If Spurs can keep him and another good winger in around the £60m region, he is worth keeping beyond this season. But fate is more in Werner’s hands than it is in Spurs.
Ultimately, the fate of many players in all the sections depends on Spurs’ actions in the transfer market. Additionally, some of the academy players in the loan section may likely have to stay to satisfy the UEFA requirements should Spurs manage to qualify (which is, at this point of the season, seems unlikely that the team can’t quality for one of the three competitions available), even if it’s worse for their development unless Spurs chose to field a smaller team A squad.
Hopefully, Spurs will back the manager and get players in this summer, as there’s clearly a vision in the team that can be fulfilled next season.

omg prem predictions lets go
i think fulham will do the best of the new teams, notts forest will get relegated again and bournemouth will scrape survival
man city wont be as dominant as before but will still be annoying; i dont think haaland will do as much as they want and theyve gotten rid of so many players the team is gonna be v different
spurs will clown their way to 3rd or conte is gonna get fired/leave in december and they come 6th no in between
i think arsenal utd and chelsea will all do worse than they should (esp considering the players they have...) and that the mid table teams (wolves villa etc) will really be in the running this year
oh and liverpool win the quadruple <3
oooooh ok i'm gonna respond to ur predictions with my predictions
i 100% agree about fulham, whenever i see them play they look v exciting and i think they'll do well and defo stay in the pl. i think possibly bournemouth will get relegated? and yeah i agree about notts forest (sorry neco)
i feel soooo similar about haaland. he will be, dare i say, a flop. i think he will do well but not nearly as well as he is expected to. i think man city will yes do well but struggle a bit more this season (but will annoyingly still make top 4)
i feel like spurs will have a strong start and then either carry on strong or have a bit of a wobble but still finish high up the table. if conte quits i WILL scream
i fully think chelsea will not do that well this season too, vibes just feel so off to me. i think it will be like last season where they did like, well but fell a bit flat. utd i think will either do very well or similar to last season and it all hinges on whether that freak stays or not. i obviously want arsenal to do well and i tentatively think they will? i am daring to hope.
i agree about wolves! i also think crystal palace will do well. buuuut as much as i love them idk about villa... i am very much hoping to be proven wrong! but part of me is like. stevie g gonna get SACKED
and 100 thousand million percent liverpool win the quad so true ❤

I saw some people saying Tottenham fans need to calm down considering they are literally still 5th and above liverpool and chelsea. Thoughts?
I mean sure there's the perspective that every team needs cause spurs are still in the prem and we're not say Southampton who are fighting for their lives, but I also don't think spurs fans are wrong to be pissed off right now. it's been building for years and years and i think everyone is finally just at the end of their tether. It's not like spurs are 5th and performing well, we're not playing like a team that should be anywhere above mid-table at best.
It's not a case of "conte bad" or "blame enic" it's everyone together making it such a calamitous shitshow.
The manager is non-committal to his future, won't adapt his tactics to suit the side he has, doesn't seem to want to do any coaching, refuses to switch up his team selection unless apparently players are (unnecessarily) BOOED off the pitch, and for some reason came to spurs and expected 100 of the world's best ready-made title winning players to come into the club when we were never going to provide that.
Our players are playing appallingly, our squad is thinner than a bald man's last remaining strand of hair, they go into the med room and never return, and there's the slight possibility we're headed for ANOTHER case of our players stopping playing for our manager.
The whole ownership of the club is a joke and is ruining the good parts of its legacy, we're never going to have the kinds of spending sprees of other top 6 sides but the lack of ambition continually displayed when it comes to player recruitment AND creating a thriving and useful academy is becoming negligible especially for the latter. we are not massively massively wealthy but we are spending like we are a lot poorer than we are. we don't back our managers, we don't know how to change and transition our squads at the right time and for a man that tries to save and obtain every penny possible the way levy refuses to sell players on before their price plummets to 50p and a freddo is crazy to me. and it's not only this lack of ambition that's killing us but the club has no idea whether it wants to be a microwavable ready meal short term winning machine (hence conte) or if it wants to be the english BVB with a focus on young talent and some experienced players to balance the side out. there's no rhyme or reason to who we buy or why we buy them. we spent all of last summer chasing djed's signature and beat out clubs like dortmund who are literally KNOWN for making young talent into stars and have given him about 20 minutes of game time all season in all competitions. we say our focus is on young talent and we always want to bring in a young player and develop them but spurs have ruined the careers of their own young talents and they're still fucking doing it now!
The whole club from the players to the manager to the recruitment staff to the academy to the owners are aimlessly wandering without any real purpose or direction or end goal, hell I'm not even sure "win a trophy" can be considered some people's objectives. as beautiful as the new stadium and training facilities are they mean nothing to fans if that's the biggest show of ambition they're going to get as if that's supposed to be their trophy from everyone involved's time at the club. at the end of the day juande fucking ramos is STILL the only manager in my lifetime to win a trophy with spurs. how can anyone defend that?

Chelsea's Defensive Woes Put to the Test Against Surging Tottenham
<h2>Chelsea Face Defensive Crisis Against Tottenham in Massive London Derby</h2> <p>This Monday night sees one of the biggest matches in English football - Chelsea hosting local rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. Kickoff for the top-of-the-table clash is set for 8:30pm UK time. But the Blues could have their work cut out for them, with injuries ravaging their defense heading into the must-win matchup.</p> <h3>Chelsea's Injury Woes</h3> <p>According to reports from Chelsea, centre-backs Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell remain sidelined with injuries. While Chalobah is back in training, neither he nor the others are ready to feature yet. This leaves manager Thomas Tuchel extremely short of options at the back.</p> <p>Making matters worse, Chelsea has reportedly had three requests to recall full-back Emerson Palmieri from his loan at Lyon rejected. With Chilwell out for the season, they wanted the Italian back to help fill the gaping hole at left-back. However, Lyon aren't keen to lose their first-choice starter.</p> <h3>Defensive Reinforcements Inbound?</h3> <p>One bit of good news for Chelsea is the impending arrival of Derby County's promising young left-back, Luke Williams. The 18-year-old has started to break into the Rams' senior side this season. His signing should be completed soon to provide desperately-needed cover.</p> <h3>Tottenham Striving for Revenge</h3> <p>Meanwhile, Tottenham come into the match full of confidence. They've won three of their last four Premier League games, including an epic comeback win over Leicester last time out. Reports say Spurs are also closing in on signing right-back Matt Doherty from Wolves.</p> <p>In a further boost, goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris has committed his long-term future to the club by extending his contract until 2024. At 35, the savvy Frenchman remains a crucial leader as Tottenham look to avenge their recent League Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea.</p> <h3>Stats Preview</h3> <p>A look at the numbers shows Chelsea have historically had the edge in this fixture. However, Tottenham will be itching to change that after five matches without scoring against their rivals. With morale sky-high from their last-gasp Leicester victory, Antonio Conte's men will surely give it their all to leave Stamford Bridge with maximum points.</p> <p>It sets the stage for an absolute cracker under the lights on Monday. But with injuries hitting Chelsea hard, can they find a way to overcome a resurgent Tottenham? One thing is for sure - this enthralling London derby is not one to miss.</p>

The case of Chelsea FC: the secret millions.
For German speakers and people interested in financial fairplay and human rights:
Documents have also emerged as part of the Cyprus Confidential data leaks, revealing illegal money deals between Abramovich's henchmen and dubious letterbox companies. In 2014, he also secretly supported the fight against Financial Fair Play. Millions of additional euros also secretly poured in for Conte's contract extensions.
Basically, they wanted to buy success in advance and abolish the unpredictability of football.
Chelsea deliberately tried to keep costs out of their accounts and prevent Financial Fair Play. UEFA now says new proceedings could be opened against the club.
Not everything might be new information, but it confirmed the abysses of this industry, especially in the PL. With everything happening with investigations against ManCity taking place, hopefully some real and profound measures will be taken.
It also implies that successes like the CL trophy in 2021 are a result of "dirty money" deals.

Mauricio Pochettino first interview as Chelsea boss angers Tottenham fans
Tumblr media
Mauricio Pochettino first interview as Chelsea boss angers Tottenham fans Mauricio Pochettino may have taken a chance on facing criticism from fans of his former team, Tottenham, in his initial interview as the newly appointed manager of Chelsea. The Argentine was rumored to be a contender for both managerial positions in London after departing from Paris Saint-Germain the previous year. However, Spurs ultimately chose Ange Postecoglou instead, allegedly neglecting to reach out to Pochettino before announcing him as the next head coach for Chelsea. Despite this, Pochettino has expressed admiration for his new employers. Speaking in his first interview to club media, he claimed that it was an "easy" decision to move to Chelsea despite his ties with Spurs and named them "one of the greatest clubs in the world" which may be tough to hear for Spurs fans. "For me, it is a pleasure and honour to now be involved with Chelsea Football Club," he said. "We are so excited, and I know Chelsea very well, it is one of the greatest clubs in the world. So of course, it was easy for us to make the decision to move here. "We are so happy that today we can start here at Cobham in the training ground and meet the people and the staff. It is exciting for us and what we want is to bring the happiness again to this great football club. We will work hard, play in a way the fans can enjoy football, and the history of Chelsea is to win - but it is important also in the way we are going to build those victories. "We are excited, so happy, and are very grateful to all the people. Of course, it starts with Todd (Boehly), Behdad (Eghbali), Jose (E. Feliciano), and after all the people really welcomed us today and a few days ago when we arrived for the first time at Cobham." Pochettino, who was one of the most successful head coaches for Tottenham Hotspur in recent years, spent more than five years in north London. He led the team to the brink of winning the Premier League and Champions League, and now, at Stamford Bridge, he aims to surpass those achievements in both competitions. 'It’s a culture of winning here. We want to bring the happiness again to this great football club.' 🙌Part one of our exclusive interview with Mauricio Pochettino! pic.twitter.com/rmWnGn3ARY— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) July 3, 2023 There were rumors suggesting that the 51-year-old Pochettino was willing to make a comeback to Spurs following the dismissals of Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini. However, club legend Ossie Ardiles shed light on the situation regarding Pochettino's potential return. At a fan event held at the end of the season, Ardiles apparently stated that Pochettino had been expecting a phone call, but it never came. Ardiles reportedly said: "Pochettino was waiting for the phone call and he never received it." Despite the disappointment of not receiving the expected call, Pochettino seems to have moved on from the snub. Instead, he is now fully focused on the task at hand: turning Chelsea's fortunes around after their disappointing 12th-placed finish in the previous season. "I think it’s important and it’s a culture of winning," he added. "In the last 10, 12, 15 years, Chelsea is the greatest team in England. I know very well the Premier League and what the culture of Chelsea means. I think our fans are excited to again be on the road of trying to win. "Of course, we are excited. We are excited to work with a very young team, with a different approach than in the past. But I think we all need to understand that we have to work really hard and create a very good atmosphere at the training ground to build success for the team in the next few years."
