NGƯỜI ĐEM LẠI NIỀM VUI TRONG MỘT TỔ CHỨC (CHIEF HAPPINESS OFFICIER)

Năm 2007, mình apply vào Vinacapital - team DFJV ở vị trí Investment Analyst. Hồi đó, anh Quang phỏng vấn mình, có vẻ positive, xong qua round 2 thì gặp team. Hỏi vài câu xã giao, xong chị phụ trách hỏi "Mày có biết DCF không?". Hiền lành đáp "Dạ em chưa biết". Một thoáng đứng hình xong, chị hỏi tiếp vài câu chuyên môn, xong hỏi câu cuối "Nếu mày vô team thì giá trị đóng góp của mày là gì?". Mình ngẫm đi nghĩ lại, và nói "Em sẽ làm cho team thật vui". "Ok, good luck and bye". Hồi đó, người ta cần người có chuyên môn và không sẵn lòng đào tạo nên từ chối cũng đúng. Mình cũng hì hục đi học CFA, và chắc cũng không ai như mình, thi 3 lần trong vòng 2 năm mới đậu CFA Level 1. Khi cầm CFA L1 xong thì lại gặp mùa đông trong ngành tài chính - đợt 2010. Rứa là ngậm ngùi chấm dứt ước mơ cuộc sống sang chảnh ở Quỹ đầu tư.

Quay đi quay lại, 15 năm đã qua, điều mình nhận thức rõ là khi mình ở trong một tổ chức, mình luôn có một khát khao muốn các team member ở đó vui vẻ, thoải mái bằng cách này hay cách khác. Mình là thằng đầu têu làm cái trò vô trước mọi người 30ph, đi bật từng cái máy tính, bật sẵn máy lạnh và chào đón từng bạn nhân viên trước cửa công ty. Mình là thằng đầu têu dẫn team các nhân viên tiêu biểu của tháng đi ăn Haidilao. Thời ở P&G thì mình là đứa thường xuyên nằm trong Org-team (BTC, hem phải Bít con nha) của nhiều sự kiện lớn nhỏ. Sau này đọc cuốn Search Inside Yourself của bác Chade Meng Tan mới biết có một thứ vai trò mà sau này sẽ phổ biến, là Happiness Officier - người thúc đẩy lan tỏa không khí làm việc vui vẻ, thoải mái, tích cực trong tổ chức. Hồi đó chức danh này chưa có đâu, chỉ sau này khi các Tổ chức có Văn hóa hình thành rõ nét và cần người chuyên trách nghĩ ra mấy cái trò như hồi xưa mình khởi xướng, thì mới sinh ra chức danh này một cách đúng nghĩa.

Thành ra, các bạn nào có hoàn cảnh tương tự như mình, nghĩa là kiểu "Ăn cơm nhà, vác tù và hàng tổng" thì có thể tham khảo keyword "Delivery Happiness" của bác Tony Hsieh nhé. Kết quả mình có được khi làm chuyện này là gì? Là giữ được mối quan hệ bạn bè tích cực kể cả sau mấy chục năm gặp lại, cũng như dễ kết nối với nhiều người khác nhau. What to do about Employee Burnout

I have been to seminar after seminar and meeting after meeting about how to avoid employee burnout. The strategies are numerous and usually cost heavy. I know some companies offer unlimited paid time off, some offer X-Boxes in the break room, employee team building activities or retreats and my personal favorite is the free meal. I am always down for eating a free meal :)

I believe that the only true way to avoid employee burnout is to make the work meaningful. I can honestly say that I have had crappy jobs and I have had wonderful jobs doing the exact same thing and the only difference is the meaning behind the work. 

The CEO and the Janitor need to find the exact same amount of meaning to avoid the feeling of burnout. Now I am not saying that rest and relaxation should go the way of the Dodo bird, but the rest and relaxation are more fulfilling when the work itself is fulfilling.

Simon Sinek says that your should employ people who believe what you believe, (Sinek, 2009). I believe we can take it one step further by employing people who love the work as much as you love the work and find meaning in your vision, mission and values.
