Day 5-
OP Tony Tony Chopper x Platonic!Reader - Gingerbread House
Tumblr media
Summary: You help Chopper put together a gingerbread house after everyone else goes to bed.
Warnings: Pure fluff, very short, platonic relationship
You stirred in bed to the sounds of rustling elsewhere in the ship. You were ever the light sleeper, and tended to wait until everyone else was sound asleep before laying down yourself to ensure a good rest. Not tonight though, aparently.
Tiptoeing down the hall, you noticed the lounge light on. Who could be up at this hour? Rounding the corner, your curious scowl faded into a warm smile. There was the Straw Hat doctor, sitting in one of the dining chairs, boosted by a stack of books, and leaning over the table, a frustrated grimace on his face. He had something caked in his fur and smudged on his nose, and from the crumbled bits of cookie architecture in from of him, you guessed it to be royal icing.
"Chopper," you called out, giggling and stepping toward him. "What are you doing up so late?"
His eyes darted to you, startled, and then even more panicked. "G-Go away! You're not supposed to see! It's a suprise!"
"Are you making a gingerbread house?" you asked, ignoring his distress. "Do you need any help?"
The boy shrunk in his seat, surely blushing under all that fur, and nodded slightly. "I just...I wanted to surprise everyone with a gingerbread house, but I misjudged how hard it'd be to put it together...especially with hooves." You couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh, which only frustrated him further. "Oh, shut up, (Y/N)! That's it, just for that, you can't have any when it's done! Not a single gumdrop!"
"Oh, stop," you snickered, sitting down with him. "Let me help you. What are you stuck on?"
"Well..." he trailed, eyeing you suspiciously. "I can't get the pieces to hold together, and if I put too much pressure on them, my hooves break them." He explained, shoulders slumping, disheartened.
"Tell you what," you smiled. "How about I hold them together, and you put the icing on the seems? That way you can move on and don't have to worry about it falling apart while you do something else."
The boy thought for a moment before nodding excitedly. "Yeah, okay!"
With that, the building stage was done before either of you knew it, and Chopper was already halfway finished decorating the 'front yard' of the house. The cake board was dotted with bits of icing with gummy trees stuck in them, gluing them down, and the pathway to the door was lined with candy pearls. Now that your hands were out of the way, Chopper was free to decorate the roof, which he'd been incessantly telling you how excited he was to do. Yet, when the time came, he hesitated.
"Chopper, what's the matter?" you asked with a curious smile.
"I feel guilty," he confessed. "You've been so helpful and I was such a brat to you earlier. Now I'm getting to do all the fun parts while you do the hard work." Your gaze softened at his deep consciousness.
"Well, that's alright, buddy." you chirped, booping his nose. "I knew what I was signing up for."
"But..." he mumbled, shrinking into himself again. "I want you to do some fun parts too." Suddenly, he perked up, shoving the messy piping back into your hands. "I know, I know!" He beamed. "How about you do the icing, and I'll do the candy! Deal?"
Your heart began to sweel with admiration for the little guy. He could be so selfless, so sweet. "That's a deal, Doc."

Demons and Claws
Roronoa Zoro x GN!Reader
Summary: Nightmares have been plaguing your dreams night after night. You can't sleep. Not in the silence. Not in the dark. You can only think of one person in your fear who can put you at ease and you go running for him.
Warnings: fluff, mild anime spoilers (Chopper mentioned)
Word Count: 1.7K
A/N: I am flabbergasted I was able to write this as short as it is--cause Oof can I go on and on, buuutt here we are! 😂 I hope you all enjoy!! 🩷

Tumblr media
You started awake, sweat coating your skin and sheets a tangled mess around your legs.
A dream. It has just been a dream. Is what you tried telling yourself. What you told yourself as you yanked and pulled the sheets back over yourself tight, tucking them just under your chin.
A demon’s face. Bloody screaming and crying. The undead. Your friends turning their backs on you.
It had been more than some dream--it had been a nightmare. A mix of all your worst nightmares mixed into one. Nightmares you had started having more often after joining Luffy’s crew.
After seeing your nightmares come to life--seeing that they were living realities that existed in your world.
Nami, whose bed lay just across the way from yours, murmured in her sleep, rolling over onto her other side. It broke through the deafening silence of your shared quarters like some blessing, but as soon as she settled back in, that silence surrounded you again.
Silence like the tomb. Like the dead.
Your nightmares flashed through your eyes again and you shoved yourself upright, chest heaving up and down as fear crawled its way into her heart.
Too dark. It was too dark in this room. Too hot and too quiet.
Did something just move in the corner? No. That was just Nami’s treasure chest. A figure standing by the stairs? No. Just the lamp.
A loud noise sounded through the room. A sound that had you clutching at your sheets tighter at its sudden echo.
Snoring. It was just one of the boy's obnoxiously loud snores piercing through the walls of the Merry.
Your mind thought over the collection of bodies stuffed into the room just next to yours. Your captain must have been the one whose snore was monstrous enough to filter into your room, having found he was the most notorious snorer.
It couldn’t have been Sanji’s or Choppers, both of their snores too breathy to ever truly reach you. Usopp was the next runner-up, his snores nasally with a tendency to get stuck in his throat.
Zoro’s snores were loud and chest-rumbling, but this particular snore, which shook through your room once more, was definitely your captain's.
And though it was your captain’s snore, you thought of the green-haired swordsmen. Of how you had found him a month ago wandering around in the backyard of your home looking for the docks, which had been miles away. He had been very adamant about not being lost, though he hadn’t denied your offer to show him the way.
He was a man of little words, but his humor had been dry and you couldn’t help but laugh--to gravitate towards him.
The docks had been a mess when you two finally made it there. A mess of pirates looking to raid your home and to kill off Zoro’s own crew. He had taken them on with ease--protected you against them, though your being with him had only brought the first of your nightmares to reality.
By the time you had helped fend off the pirates from invading your island alongside the Straw Hats, your home had been burned to nothing but ash by one of the pirates who had slipped away.
And despite the rest of the Straw Hats being wonderfully supportive, Zoro had been the one who had been by your side every step of the way. Had sat with you while you cried for your losses. Had taught you a special way of remembering and respecting the dead, which you two partook on the dawn of each week.
Your room fell silent once more. A silence that had your eyes scanning over the room for every last little monster that could be lurking in the darkness.
Zoro fought by your side--kept you from harm's way and he was the only one you could think of to run to when the demons and shadows came calling for you.
With a mighty breath in and out, you hopped out of bed, feet running over the soft, robin’s egg blue carpet that lay over the floor, shifting to polished hardwood just before the stairs. You rushed up them, feeling as if clawed hands were just inches away from grabbing you around your ankles and yanking you right back into the darkness you were fleeing.
You burst out of the door, shutting it behind you as quietly as you could so as to not wake Nami up.
The storage room was just as dark--just as threatening and you rushed for the door that led into the kitchen.
Though moonlight shone through the four, arching windows, illuminating the space dimly, you still felt those clawed hands reaching for you. Hands that sent you rushing once more out of the kitchen and onto the deck. Chilled, salty sea air hit your nose as you crossed the course floor, all but lunging for the hatch just next to the mast.
You flung it open, taking your time to carefully find your footing on the ladder that was built into the mast, which continued downward into the belly of the Merry.
Descending downward, you were met with more darkness, though a small night light had been set up, giving off enough light for you to see around. You seemed to remember the boys arguing with Usopp about it’s being there, but you weren’t quite sure of its true origins.
The air was never once still as you silently hopped to the polished floor, snores of all kinds filling your ears.
The boy's room was cramped. There was no better word to describe it.
The small room had been fitted with two couches and a table you didn’t think the boys truly needed. Swinging in the far corner, layered on top of each other like sardines, lay the fast-asleep men of your crew.
As you grew closer, the louder the snores grew and the less you could think about the nightmares that had chased you out of your bed in the first place.
The first row of boys, closest to the far sitting couch, was made up of three hammocks. Chopper, being the smallest, lay in the top hammock, snoozing away like the precious angel he was. Next was Zoro, who slept with his hands behind his neck and his ankles crossed over each other. And below him lay Sanji, whose long limbs spilled out over the horrible, near burlap sack-like material that made up their hammocks.
You made a mental note to make them all some proper hammocks as soon as you got supplies from the next island you all landed on.
As carefully as you could, you climbed up onto the fine, blue fabric of the couch and walked over it so you could stand next to Zoro’s hammock. You looked him over. Looked over his is peaceful features--his slack jaw, which rumbling snores fell from and his sleep-tousled hair.
Carefully, as if approaching a rabid dog, you gently laid a hand on his hard-earned bicep and gave the swordsman a firm shake.
“Zoro.” You called on a tone just above a whisper. When he didn’t stir right away, you shook him a bit more harshly, his name falling from your lips in the same manner.
“What the hell--” He began on a hiss, but when his dark eyes snapped open to find you standing there, he huffed out a heavy breath. “...can I help you?” He asked, his voice rougher and deeper from the sleep you had just pulled him from.
“I…” You started, biting your tongue from finishing your thought. You felt yourself grow embarrassed. Embarrassed that you had run all the way down here. Embarrassed that you had woken Zoro up from his deep sleep which he needed.
It was childish really. You couldn’t handle a silly little dream? You were a grown adult. You could deal with it yourself.
A demon's face. Bloody screaming and crying. The undead. Wicked, clawed hands. Your friends turning their backs on you. Your family’s death--
“I had a nightmare.” You breathed, your voice wavering the slightest bit. Zoro blinked at you. A long blink that looked as if he was slowly thinking over your words.
“...okay.” He said after what felt like an hour had passed you by.
“Zoro.” You huffed, annoyed at his absent-mindedness.
“What?” He asked, equally as annoyed. Asked a little too loud for your liking. You shushed him, placing a finger over his lips which he only swatted away, ever the more irritated. “I don’t know what you want me to do about it.”
“You’re insufferable.” You whispered harshly, eyes narrowed down at him. “This was a mistake.” But before you could make your way back over the too-nice fabric of the couch you stood on, Zoro grabbed your wrist.
“You know I’m not a mind reader.” He said, his voice growing softer as he pulled you back in. Your body, despite you wanting to still be huffy and puffy with him, relaxed against his strong hold. “Just tell me what you want me to do about it.”
“I just thought…I think I would sleep better in here.” Zoro watched you for a moment, dark brown eyes scanning over your face carefully as if to catch anything he might be missing.
“Like on the floor?” You huffed and Zoro rolled his eyes. “Where then?”
“You’re going to say no.” You went to pull your hand from his grip but he held firm.
“Just say it already.” He urged you, that annoyance filtering back into his voice.
“Can I sleep in your hammock--with you? Please.” You blurted out before you could think too much about it again, “You make me feel safe.”
A sharp yelp escaped your lips as Zoro reached over, grabbed you around the waist, and hosted you up into his hammock.
You heard Chopper stir above you, but soon his soft snores fluttered from his nose once more.
Zoro tucked you into his side, wrapping you up in his strong arms and resting his chin on the crest of your head, a deep breath escaping his nose.
“Next time, just say that first. Could have been back asleep by now.” He grumbled, his voice evening out as sleep slowly fell over him for the second time that night. You nestled deeper into his broad, scarred chest, feeling instantly at ease in his arms. Feeling safe--protected from the demons waiting in the darkness for you.
“Thank you.” You whispered, brushing your fingers over the warm skin of his side.
“Whatever. Go to sleep.” You did as you were told, letting the rock of the sea, the chorus of snores, and Zoro’s strong presence lull you back to sleep.

It took the better part of a year, but I've finally figured out where to go with Joyride. A lot of people have been asking for this, so I hope it lives up to your expectations.
Joyride (Part 2)
Part 1
Yandere Ace x GN Isekai Reader
4.8k words
Warning! This contains pretty much every Ace related spoiler btw!
When going into a world you already know everything about, you don’t exactly expect to be surprised by anything. Sure, there will be slight changes and alternate interactions now that you’ve been unceremoniously dropped in, but you had been anticipating for the story to follow all the same beats.
Which is why you were really thrown off when Ace didn’t go his separate way when he was supposed to.
Luffy had succeeded in defeating Crocodile and stopping his plan for dictatorship of Alabasta, but Ace was still here. Granted, having Ace around was hardly the worst thing that could happen, but you didn’t understand what was going on with him.
After your downright bizarre interaction during the little joyride he took you on, you’d honestly had every intention of avoiding him going forward. Then he threw a curveball at you by sincerely apologizing later that night. With everything going on right now he just got a little carried away, that’s all, he won’t harass you about it again. Or so he claimed.
You were skeptical initially, but true to his word, he hasn’t brought up you joining the Whitebeard Pirates since. Between that, and him having an unknown advantage over you by being a favorite character of yours, it was easy to find it within yourself to forgive him. You two have been borderline inseparable since, much to the chagrin of your crewmates.
While Ace hadn’t openly made further attempts to convince you to join his pops’ crew, he’d found a thinly veiled loophole in the form of telling you all kinds of stories about them. You knew this was in and of itself, a method to win you over, but deemed it not worth calling out. Besides, who were you to refuse the opportunity to get some Whitebeard Pirates lore?
There were many late nights filled with quiet conversations about various shenanigans the crew got up to in their free time, of which there were many. An unsurprising fact because of course having that many sibling jam packed onto a ship would turn it into a vessel of chaos.
If you had a weaker resolve, these stories might have won you over. But no, you need to go home.
Even though you weren’t convinced on switching crews, or even just staying here, there was a different problem arising from all your quality time together.
The longer you spoke and goofed around with him, the deeper and more intricate the conversations became, the more human he became to you. Or course, he’d technically always been a human being, but your mind had always registered him (as well as everyone else here) as a “character” first and foremost. A figure in a fictional story which you just so happened to be in temporarily.
Now? After spending so much time with him, aftering seeing him make decisions based off his own experiences and preferences rather than being dictated by some omnipotent author, things have changed. He wasn’t Portgas D. Ace, the fan favorite character from One Piece. He was just Ace, your friend.
With this came something you never saw coming. Guilt. An all consuming, agonizing guilt that picked away at you every single second of the day.
You knew what was to come. You knew what was going to happen to him. What were you doing about it? Absolutely nothing. And for what? For the sake of preserving a story that’s already been altered from your mere presence?
What a disgusting excuse of a friend you were.
The internal conflict you were going through hadn’t gone unnoticed, not when it was taking such a high toll on you. Nami was the first to start grilling you on it. Naturally, she immediately started pointing fingers at Ace as being the cause, which while not wrong, she wasn’t correct in the way she believed herself to be either. It was hardly his fault that you had a heavy conscience.
Sanji had also picked up on your struggles and was very concerned about the bags under your eyes, even offering to make some tea to assist with sleeping. An offer you turned down perhaps more harshly than truly necessary, but being trapped in a deeper sleep sounded awful with the nightmares you’ve been having.
It had been upsetting enough to watch Ace die through a screen, but in your dreams you were right there. It felt so real.
A suffocating heat burned at your skin and seared your lungs with every panicked breath, which only became more frantic as hot blood splattered over your face. Life was rapidly draining from Ace’s eyes as he collapsed into the waiting arms of his now deeply traumatized brother.
Your feet were rooted to the ground, all you could do was stare in horror as he looked up at you with tearful, pleading eyes. “Why?” The word was more so coughed out than spoken, spraying out more blood that he couldn’t afford to lose. An arm extended towards you, the hand locking onto your own. His nails dug into your skin, drawing out blood of your own to mix with his into a revolting cocktail. “You could have stopped this. How could you do this to me?”
The last word was wheezed out and his body went limp as his dead, lifeless eyes stared through you. A soul wrenching scream tore its way out of Luffy’s throat, only to morph into your own as you were mercifully ripped from your slumber.
The screaming damn near gave Ace a heart attack, you’re sure of it. This nightmare had occurred after you and him had become separated from the rest of the group while traversing the desert, and you had found a compact cave for the two of you to pass the night in.
What made it worse was how he reacted. He was so concerned, even fretting over you as you desperately tried to get your breathing under control. The compassion in his eyes had done nothing to comfort you, it only served to further sicken you. Here he was wanting to save you from something as trivial as a nightmare, yet you couldn’t be bothered to speak up on and prevent his upcoming demise.
The guilt was killing you, and the solution was not only clear, but easy. So why couldn’t you bring yourself to just tell him? To plead and beg for him to give up the chase and not throw his life away. Yet your lips remained sealed.
All of these elements came to a boil and demanded your attention, so you did what seemed to be the easiest thing to do in your situation. Drink it away.
Now that Luffy had awoken from his brief coma after fighting Crocodile, Alubarna Palace was hosting a lavish party in celebration and thanks for what everyone had done. And what high end party would be complete without absurd amounts of alcohol?
It started with one, purely to help ease your nerves. However, when it didn’t, you poured yourself another. And then a few more. Zoro had initially been thrilled to have you as a drinking buddy, but apparently even he had his limits and had cut you off.
“The hell’s gotten into you? You’re drinking like you’re trying to run from demons,” the bottle of expensive liquor had been moved out of reach when you tried to go for it again.
“You have no idea,” you slurred out, head spinning from your evening of poor decision making.
Zoro shot you a questioning look, but didn’t press it, likely knowing full well that getting a coherent conversation out of you right now would be impossible. He heaved out a sigh and stood up, “I’m going to get you some water, stay right there.”
Thoroughly defeated, you slumped back into your chair. After all that, you still couldn’t get your dilemma out of your head. Your “demons” continued gnawing at your soul, and all that your drinking had done about it was ensure that you would have a miserable hangover in the morning.
Your head lulled to the side, and you caught sight of a familiar orange hat. Speak of the devil. While you were in the throws of self inflicted misery, Ace was happily taking advantage of all the food being offered. Good for him. He deserved a nice night.
As if acting on its own, your body managed to get up onto its feet. You shambled towards him, doing your best not to fall flat on your face with each uncoordinated step. Whatever invisible force that had been helping you to make the walk to Ace failed you at the last second, and you crashed into him from behind.
“Shit! Wha- Oh, it’s just you,” Ace whirled around, visibly agitated, but his features relaxed when he realized who it was. He appeared to be ready to say more but you cut him off.
“I need to talk to you.”
Ace quirked a brow, “Yeah? What’s up?”
From the expectant look he was giving you, it’s clear that he’s waiting for you to spill your guts here and now. You shook your head, “No, it’s… It’s a secret. We have to go somewhere else.” Realization flashed across his face and he nodded. Fortunately for you, he led the way. You honestly did not think you’d be able to scout out a place for this discussion. You were finally going to come clean and tell him everything before you could sober up and come to your senses.
It was going well. At least it was, until he passed out and took you down with him. You both collided onto the floor with a resounding thud, him on top of you. The hall you’d slipped into was empty, meaning there was no one here to help you.
You groaned as you attempted to move, the fall had hit you harder than it should have thanks to the copious amounts of alcohol in your system. You were also mentally kicking yourself for not seeing this coming. He was eating when you stumbled into him, of course it was only a matter of time before this happened.
Whatever, there isn’t time to be bemoaning a minor inconvenience. You manage to shimmy out from under him and use the wall to get to your feet. Ace is snoring on the floor, not a care in the world. Hopefully he’ll wake up soon.
Taking a look around, you see a door just a couple steps away. You inch your way over to it and try the knob. It clicks open, and you peer in. Looks like some sort of guest room, and it’s empty. Perfect.
Pushing the door open fully, you turn back to Ace. He’s still asleep, but you don’t want to wait around for him to wake up on his own and run the risk of being seen. You lean down to grab the closest part of him, his right foot, and pull. You’re not sure if he’s actually heavy, or if you’re just too drunk for this, but you tip over while trying to do this and fall flat on your ass.
“Huh?” Ace’s head snapped up and he looked around owlishly. The second his eyes connected with yours, he remembered what he was doing before his narcoleptic tendencies took the wheel. He laughed, a light blush on his face, as he got to his feet, “Sorry about that, you alright?”
“I’m fine, get in here,” you urged him to hurry, which he did. In the time it took you to stand again, Ace had already slipped into the room, closed the door, and flicked on a lamp so you two wouldn’t be talking in complete darkness. You eye the door for a moment, then grab a chair and drag it over to wedge it under the doorknob. Someone walking in on the conversation you were about to have would be something of a worst case scenario.
Ace watched this curiously, “Is everything okay?”
This probably looked weird, but oh well, it’s about to get a lot weirder. You decide to sit on the bed and motion for Ace to join you, which he does. You take one of his hands in both of yours and stare at him intensely, “I need to tell you something. It’s going to sound insane, but you need to promise me you won’t tell anyone about this.”
He repeated his previous question, asking again if everything was okay, but you cut him off, “Promise me, please!”
Your desperation got through to him, “Okay, I promise! What’s going on?”
Here goes nothing. You take a deep breath and take the leap, “You need to stop going after Blackbeard.”
Ace recoiled immediately, and if you hadn’t been holding onto his hand for dear life, he probably would have backed away from you. “What? I can’t do that, why would y-”
“Let me finish!” You snapped at him, only to immediately regret it. You sighed, “Please. There’s more, please let me finish talking first, and then you can talk.”
While he did not look happy about it, he did relax his shoulders and settled back into the bed. You took this as your cue to continue, “You need to stop going after Blackbeard because you will die if you do.” Ace exhaled sharply and rolled his eyes at this, assuming that this was coming from a place of fear and doubt.
“I know this because,” you took in a shuddering breath, steeling yourself for what was to come. “I know this because in the world that I came from… This world is a story.”
Ace stares at you wide eyed and slack jawed. He laughed, but was very clearly uncomfortable, “I, uh, I think you’ve had a little too much to drink tonight. How about I take you back to your room to sleep it off, okay?”
He tried to stand, but you yanked him back down, “No! I’m not drunk! Well, I mean, I am, but I know what I’m talking about! I can prove it.”
His expression was nothing short of incredulous, but he indulged you, “Yeah, okay, sure. Go ahead, prove it.”
“You’re hunting down Blackbeard because he murdered Thatch so he could steal his devil fruit,” you started light. Ace had told you about Thatch being the one he was avenging, but he’d never mentioned the devil fruit before, likely not deeming it an important enough detail. His brows knit together and his eyes drifted upwards as he racked his brain to remember if maybe he actually had said something about it.
“Before you were with Whitebeard, you were captain of the Spade Pirates. Your first member was Masked Deuce, who you met while being stranded on an island together. It’s where you found your devil fruit and built Striker,” he hadn’t told you anything in regards to his old crew, and his face reflected that. You definitely had his attention now.
“You and Luffy were raised by mountain bandits because Garp couldn’t raise you two himself. It wasn’t just you guys, though, you had another brother named Sabo, but he was killed when he tried to set sail and got shot down,” at this point, you were saying whatever came to mind with no regard to whether or not it was a good idea to say this right now. You couldn’t bring yourself to keep looking him in the eye, so you settled for staring at his hand in yours. It was completely slack.
“Your parents are Portgas D. Rouge and Gol D. R-”
Before you could finish the sentence, Ace’s free hand clamped over your mouth with such ferocity that you almost fell off the bed. Forcing yourself to make eye contact again, you see that his are blown wide and wild. The color has been drained from his face and he looked physically ill from hearing everything you just threw at him.
An extremely tense moment passed with nothing to be heard beyond his labored breathing. Then, he hesitantly let go of your face and with a shaky voice said, “Okay. I’m sorry. I believe you. What… What’s going to happen if I keep pursuing Blackbeard?”
You attempted to swallow the lump in your throat, but it refused to go away, “When you catch up with him, you’ll fight, but lose. Your powers are no match for his, you don’t stand a chance against him. After your loss, he turns you in to the marines.
“Because of who your father is, they decide to make an example out of you and sentence you to death.”
“That bastard turns me in and I get executed?” He sounds like the wind has just been knocked out of him. Disbelief and bitterness are the two most prevalent emotions in his tone, but many others brew beneath the surface.
“Not exactly,” it’s true that he gets turned in and killed, but it’s nowhere near that simple and straightforward. “Luffy comes to your rescue at Marineford, and so does Whitebeard and a lot of his crew.”
Before you could go more into detail, Ace speaks up, “They… W-Why would they do that?”
“Why would they- You have to ask?!” Your voice raises and you have to remind yourself of just how much character development he has to go through in that arc to finally realize and accept the fact that he’s genuinely loved. “Because you’re family, their family! They care about you and don’t want to see you die!”
Your outburst shocked him, but not as much as seeing you start to cry did. His hand is abandoned and you lurch forward to bring him into a suffocatingly tight hug, “Y-You are so loved, you know that? They l-love you so much! A lot of people do! I do! We all want to see you live and be happy!” You limply hang off of him as more tears bubble to the surface, greedily taking the chance to escape with every sob as you finally let out everything you’ve been keeping in. Ace makes no move to return your embrace, he just sits there stiff as a board.
“A-And, at that battle, you’re killed by Admiral Akainu while protecting Luffy. He’s devastated by it, being forced to watch you die hurts him so bad,” you cling onto him tighter upon feeling him flinch from your words. “Whitebeard dies there too.”
“What?! How could anyone kill him? That can’t be right!” You’re wrenched off Ace violently and his stare is almost as unhinged as it was when you said his parents’ names.
“Blackbeard does it,” Ace freezes at this. “That should give you an idea of how strong he is. If he can kill Whitebeard, fighting you is nothing to him. Besides, you of all people would know how hard it is to kill him,” you chuckle but it’s humorless, empty even.
A heavy stretch of silence follows after that. Ace’s eyes don’t leave your face for even a second, desperately searching for anything that would tell him that this is all one big, sick joke. But there’s nothing of the sort.
Slowly, he releases your shoulders and he shifts away from you to rest his head in his hands. Without his support, you allow yourself to fall back onto the bed. Between all the alcohol and your emotional outburst, you’re exhausted and want nothing more than to sleep. You try to force yourself to stay awake, but it feels like an insurmountable task.
“Hey, Ace?” There’s no answer, but you continue anyway, “I’m sorry. I know that was a lot. If, um… If you don’t believe me about knowing what’s going to happen, stick around until after we set sail again. Bon Clay- Mr. 2- is going to bring the Going Merry over here so that we don’t have to backtrack. Marines will be all over the place, but he sacrifices himself so that Luffy and his crew can get away. Once they’ve lost the marines, Nico Robin will reveal herself to have been hiding on the ship and joins the crew.”
Ace continues to not react to what’s being said, you’re not even sure he’s listening to you at this point. As much as you want to comfort him, your limbs feel like lead and your head is swimming. The last thing you see is the jolly roger of the Whitebeard’s staring you down as you fade into darkness.
Consciousness comes back to you slowly. Painfully so. Before you can even make out your surroundings, you’re assaulted by the worst headache of your life. The stabbing pain behind your eyes is crippling, all you want is to retreat back to the comfort of sleep, but you know that’s not going to happen.
It doesn’t help that your mouth is so dry that you feel like you’re back in the desert. One hand comes up to gingerly massage your eyes. The action brought more discomfort than relief, but it did clear up your sight a little.
As your senses ebb back into you, you hone in on the pressure all over your body. It takes considerable effort, but you manage to lift your head enough to take a look. Your nose is less than an inch from bumping into someone else’s. Chopper’s to be exact. He was curled up into your side and using your chest as a pillow. Looking past him, Luffy was sprawled across your lap, belly up. Both of them were still asleep.
You prop yourself up on one arm. Chopper shifts, but doesn’t wake. Off to your side is a bedside table with a glass of water on it. Oh, thank God. Using the arm you aren’t propped up with, you grab it and bring the cup to your lips. The water is divine, an absolute blessing for your dry throat.
As you enjoy your drink, your eyes glance around to observe the rest of the room. It’s the one you all have been staying in since saving Alabasta. Most of your friends are in their respective beds, except for Chopper and Luffy, obviously. Zoro was also not in his bed, instead being slumped over in a chair next to your own.
Your eyes flicker over to the massive windows of the room, and you spot Ace sitting in the windowsill. From the way he’s positioned, he appears to be awake already. Your gaze narrows as you focus on him. Something tickled at the back of your mind, demanding to be remembered. But what?
“Y-You are so loved, you know that? They l-love you so much! A lot of people do! I do! We all want to see you live and be happy!”
The water going down your throat is suddenly going out of it when you choke. Memories come back and hit you like a train as you realize what exactly it is you did last night.
Naturally, this wakes up Chopper and Luffy, who are both jolted from their once peaceful sleep by you choking on your drink. Chopper immediately starts to panic, “AH! Don’t die, (Y/N)!”
It was crucial that you speak to Ace again, but it seemed like the world itself was committed to making sure that didn’t happen. Ace slipped out of the room while everyone was fussing over you, and it honestly felt like he was avoiding you now. Everytime you thought you might be able to catch him alone, either he vanishes, or someone else comes out of nowhere to drag you away.
Today was the day you all set sail from Alabasta, and while that did put you in close proximity with Ace, it also put everyone else within earshot of you two. And considering the delicate nature of what you needed to talk about, that was extremely inconvenient.
The only good thing was that the events following leaving Alabasta played out exactly how they were supposed to. Hopefully that meant that Ace would believe you and give up hunting down Blackbeard, but you won’t be able to confirm that unless you speak with him.
You were so stressed that you’d barely been able to focus on Robin being here. She “introduced” herself to you as if she hadn’t had an extremely uncomfortable run in with you in an alleyway back in Rainbase, but all you could manage was a half-assed handshake before excusing yourself.
For probably the fifteenth time today, you checked to make sure that Striker was still tied to the Merry. It was, much to your relief. But where was Ace hiding? You haven’t seen him since Robin showed herself.
The stress of trying and failing to corner him was doing nothing to help with your hangover, your head felt like it was about to explode. Did you still have Advil in the bag you got isekai’d here with? Maybe. Pushing off the railing, you march to where your room is while praying that you’re right about the painkillers.
You open the door without much thought, only to stop dead in your tracks when you catch sight of Ace rummaging through your belongings and stuffing them into his backpack. The door opening did briefly make him stop and peer over his shoulder to see who it was, but the second he saw it was you, he went right back to pillaging.
“Can I help you? Why are you robbing me?” You stomp over to where he’s crouched down and shove his shoulder.
“I’m not robbing you, I’m packing for you,” Ace mumbled, sounding lost in thought.
“Why would you be packing for me? Actually, you know what? That’s the least of my concerns right now, we need to talk about last night.”
“We’ll talk about it later, not here.” He still hasn’t properly faced you, and you were getting sick of only making eye contact with his tattoo and not him.
“Where else would we talk about it?!” You hissed.
Seeming content with his work, he stood up and kicked the dresser drawer shut, “On the Striker. Or maybe the Moby Dick, I guess. I’m going back and you’re coming with me.”
You can’t believe what you’re hearing, “Excuse me?”
“I’m going back to the Moby Dick, and you’re coming with me.” Ace had finally turned to face you. His eyes were sunken and vaguely bloodshot.
The sight catches you off guard, “Did you sleep at all last night?”
He shook his head, “No, we’re going to have to stop somewhere else to sleep before going the rest of the way back home.”
“Ace, I’m not going with you. Look, I’m happy that you’re calling off your hunt, relieved honestly, but I’m staying here.” You will ideally be figuring out how to go home sometime soon, there’s no sense in hopping around from crew to crew now.
One of his eyes twitched, and he looked exasperated, “You can’t stay here. You aren’t safe here.”
“What are you-”
“Let me finish,” the words were spoken calmly, but very firm. “I don’t think you understand how serious this is. You apparently know everything about this world and what’s going to happen in it, do you have any idea what will happen to you if word gets out about this?”
“You’re the only person I’ve told, so as long as you keep your mouth shut, I’ll be fine.”
“Until you get drunk again and tell someone else, then what?” His words were just as scathing as his gaze.
Your face flushed in shame, “That won’t happen again.”
“You don’t know that!” Ace snapped at you, then sighed and dragged a hand down his face, “This is for your own good. Nothing good will come from anyone else learning about this. If it ever got back to someone like Big Mom, she would send every single one of her children after you so she could have you on her side. And that’s the nicer option. I’m sure the marines would be more than happy to kill you off so that no one else could have you if they can’t.”
Throughout this entire conversation, his face had remained uncomfortably neutral, but now it cracked. Fondness peaked through the exhaustion as his expression softened ever so slightly. He steps forwards and brings you against him in a crushing embrace. His skin is hot to the touch, effectively chasing away any chill that you may have had.
“You said you wanted to see me live, and I want to see you live, too.” The words are hushed, you wouldn’t have been able to hear him if he hadn’t been speaking right next to your ear.
Reluctantly, he pulls himself away. His face is serious again, “We’re leaving tonight, be ready to go.”
“But-”
“If you don’t come willingly, I will make you. The only thing that you resisting will accomplish is making this messier than it needs to be. Even if you don’t like this now, you will thank me for it later.”
Ace spins on his heel and heads for the door. All you can do is stand there gawking at him as he leaves. Just before the door closes behind him, he spares a glance over his shoulder to say, “I’ll see you tonight.”

Zoro x Fem Reader fluff and NSFW! S/O is a sweet and gentle lover, being like the opposite of Zoro. She always takes care of Zoro, like giving him blankets during naps, water and towels and massages during his training, etc. But Zoro hasn’t done much for her as a lover, which everyone but S/O reminds him. Zoro tries making it up by taking her to a flower field date. S/O is so happy, playing with the flowers that Zoro couldn’t help but fall in love with her innocence and kindness even more.
S;DUFDFVHJDOI;FDS;SDJF;OS THE WAY I SQUAWKED AND FOLDED FOR THIS REQUEST because I relate to it sooooo much oh my goodness gracious. I was so excited to write this and kept thinking about how to approach it, (which you can tell from how long it is... I got SUPER carried away lol)!!! Thank you SO MUCH for this request!!! I also used post timeskip Zoro because he seems more serious and stoic, and just imagining him being soft and blushing and in love just sidfjduhgsdijfo;i ugh okay? I headcanon that Sanji hides the sake and beer from Zoro just because he can. I don't know yet if it ever actually happens, but I would not be surprised.

-----
"All I'm saying is that if I had a lover like her, I'd give her everything and anything" Sanji quipped from his place in front of the stove.
"I didn't ask you, ero-cook. I love her and she knows it. That's enough. Stay out of my relationship" Zoro snapped from the pantry, searching for some alcohol.
"You should say 'our' relationship, idiot marimo. It's you and her together."
Zoro slammed shut the pantry, rattling the wall. The cook hid all the alcohol from him again.
"I don't want advice from a love sick fool who can't get a woman to save his life. At least I have a girlfriend" he spat, stalking towards the door.
"Yet you're arguing with me, trying to find alcohol to go drink alone instead of spending time with her. After everything she does for you." Zoro spun around angrily, hand on one of his swords, but was interrupted by the door to the eating area opening. You stood in the doorway hesitantly, immediately sensing the tension in the air, and the way it thickened at your presence.
"Oh. Uh. I stashed an extra bottle of alcohol away for you for when San-... uh... you couldn't find any... so... here" you held out the bottle. It was a bottle of decent sake you had swiped and stashed last week for the inevitable time the cook hid all the alcohol from your boyfriend, which you had seen the blond doing earlier.
"Thanks" Zoro muttered as he took it from your hand. He walked out the door, leaving you with the cook. You didn't miss the glower the cook sent towards the swordsman's back at his dismissive attitude, but you ignored it. You walked into the kitchen, distracting Sanji from his annoyance with a sweet request for two cups of water. He quickly got them for you with an exaggerated flourish, causing you to giggle. At the innocent sound, his smile turned sad before he became serious.
"You do too much for him and don't get enough in return" he muttered. Your heart clenched.
"He loves me in different ways, away from where people can see. Unfortunately, it's hard to do that on a ship" you said, shrugging off the comment. You knew it was true. You knew he loved you, he just... had lofty goals. It's hard to find time for romance and giving your lover attention when you're training constantly to be the worlds greatest swordsman, and first mate to the future pirate king. You knew that going into the relationship, and you were content with giving him attention so he knew he was loved.
"Besides, if he knows I love him, that's all that matters to me" you said.
"He doesn't even take you on dates when we go to islands" Sanji said quietly.
"It's pretty hard to do when he has the directional sense of a rock, and he somehow usually manages to get into some sort of trouble" you dismissed easily. The cook sighed, turning back to the stove.
"As long as you're happy, but I'd be glad to kick his ass for you if you ever feels like he needs it" he offered. You snorted, grabbing the waters as you made your way towards the door.
"You'd do it if he even looked at you wrong, let alone pissed me off" you teased, opening the door. Sanji waved goodbye with a sweet smile, knowing what you said was one hundred percent true. You rolled your eyes, making your way to the deck towards Zoro. It was evening, the sea breeze sweeping away the heat of the day, cooling the air to a comfortable temperature. The sun was starting to set, the sky turning gold with strokes of pink and red towards the horizon.
Your boyfriend was enjoying the last vestiges of sunlight on the deck, sprawled on his side with his head propped in his hand. You stood and admired his features for a second. His short green hair seemed more vibrant in this light, and his eyes closed gently, the scar over his eye shining with the different texture. The light hit his exposed chest just right, highlighting and shadowing his muscles that he worked so hard for. He brought the bottle of sake up to his lips and took a swig. You watched as his chiseled jaw moved as his throat bobbed. His earrings glinted in the golden light at the new angle. You swallowed, feeling butterflies erupt in your stomach.
"You just gonna stand there?" he asked, lowering the bottle from his lips. A drop made its way down his chin but he wiped it off carelessly with the back of his hand. You cleared your throat, flustered that you had been caught staring. You made your way to sit so he could see you with his good eye. You silently held out the glass of water, glancing at him quickly.
"You good? You look like your blushing" he said, letting his fingers linger over yours as he accepted the glass of water. One of his ways of showing innocent affection.
"Yeah... You just... You're so beautiful" you breathed honestly. Zoro blushed slightly and grunted, looking away from you. You giggled quietly, able to read his reactions like a book. He was surprised and flustered.
"Not my choice of description" he mumbled. You decided to tease him further.
"No? I could say you're pretty, or stunning. I could say you're handsome, sexy, strong, amazing-"
"Shut up!" he swatted your thigh lightly. Now he was beyond flustered, blushing all the way to his ears. You dissolved into laughter, falling onto your back as you clutched your stomach. You missed his gaze, staring openly at you with awe, but he controlled his expression quickly before someone saw him. Your laughter eventually faded, and you eased yourself up to lean on your elbows to watch the sunset. Streaks of purples, oranges, pinks, and reds painted the sky.
"Tomorrow we should arrive at a spring island" you said quietly. Zoro grunted quietly. To anyone else, it sounded like a simple acknowledgement that you spoke, but you heard his silent invitation to continue.
"It's famous for the flower fields that grow wild there" you said, awe and excitement coloring your voice. You didn't notice his curious glance towards you.
"Yeah?" he prodded. You sat up fully, hugging your knees to your chest, your expression dreamy as you let the visual of the current sunset coloring imaginary wildflower fields form in your mind.
"Mmmhmm. I told Chopper I'd go with him" you said quietly.
An idea bloomed in the swordsman's mind, but he kept his expression neutral.
"For medicinal herbs?" he asked. You nodded.
"I'm excited" you said dreamily. Zoro hummed, a plan forming behind his neutral face. He'd need to ask some favors, which he hated, but to see you smile it was worth it.
----
The next morning you woke up with more energy than usual, the excitement to visit the wildflower fields evident in your actions. All morning, you asked Robin about her flowers, and she lent you a book about the flowers you were likely to see on this island. You devoured the information until Luffy exclaimed loudly that he could see land. You worked off your extra energy running wild around the ship with him and Chopper, feeding each other's childish excitement. You didn't see Zoro anywhere, but assumed he was training in the crows nest.
The ship finally docked, and you waited impatiently for Chopper to finish gathering what he needed before the two of you leapt off the ship.
"Oi! Wait up! I'm coming with you two" your boyfriend called out, sounding exasperated as he slung a bag around him. Your happy surprise showed in a small squeal and a jump into his arms once he caught up. A wide grin donned your lips and you laughed as he tsk'd at your behavior and pushed you back by your forehead.
"Did you shower?" you asked, surprised. Normally it took you promising alone time or a bottle of sake to get him to shower regularly.
"So what if I did?"
You shrugged, grabbing his hand as you turned away.
"C'mon! Let's go! And don't let go of my hand. I don't want you getting lost"
You lead the way through the town, the three of you stopping to buy some drinks before continuing. Chopper got chocolate milk, Zoro got sake, and you tried a popular local flower tea. You asked the shopkeeper directions to the flower fields to make sure you were going the right way. He nodded, but leaned forward, indicating at your hand in Zoro's.
"The fields are a tourist attraction, but there's a place that's out of the way and much prettier, if you're looking for a more secluded area." You opened your mouth to say it didn't matter, but Zoro leaned forward, intrigued. You realized he probably wanted to take a nap in the quiet area, so you nodded and asked for directions. You thanked the shopkeeper with a few coins as a tip for his information, and set off with Chopper and Zoro in tow.
"You didn't have to give him money just for telling us that" Zoro griped. You rolled your eyes.
"You just say that 'cause you're in huge debt to Nami" you teased. He bristled slightly.
"He offered up the information for free!"
You shrugged.
"You repay kindness with kindness. That comes in different forms for different people"
Zoro grunted, having no reply to that. Chopper spoke up.
"Ooo you're so nice! But the directions the man gave you leads to a different area where the herbs I need don't grow. Is it okay if we split up? I'll be fine by myself, and you can go enjoy the beautiful area."
You hesitated. You told Chopper you'd help him find herbs, but the offer to spend alone time with Zoro without other people disturbing you in a flower field sounded too tempting. Your boyfriend squeezed your hand.
"He'll be fine. Let's go. You're excited right?"
You exhaled, and ran your free hand through your hair before smiling down at Chopper.
"You sure?" He nodded determinedly at your question, then ran off with a quick goodbye and a promise to be safe. You watched him for a bit, but turned around when Zoro tugged on your hand.
"C'mon. Lets go" he urged. He began leading you, but you quickly stopped him, a smile tugging on your lips.
"That's the way we came from, babe. This way."
He huffed in embarrassment both at his mistake and your pet name, but let you lead him. You reached a fork in the path just outside the town. One sign indicated the path lead to the flower fields, but you headed down the unmarked path, following the shopkeeper's directions.
"Oi. The sign said the other way. You sure we're on the right path?" your boyfriend asked. You glanced at him with a single raised brow and a smirk.
"I love you so much Zoro, but I'm surprised you even realized the sign was referring to the other path"
He blushed and spluttered, indignant at your quip and flustered by your easy admission of your feelings towards him. You cut him off with a soft laugh.
"Hurry up! I can smell the flowers already!" You broke into a quick jog. The swordsman easily kept pace with you, staying by your side even as you let go of his hand. You focused on the path ahead of you, missing his quick, adoring glance at you. There was nobody around, after all.
A few minutes later, you rounded a corner of a rock face, and your view exploded in vibrant colors. Shades of purple, pink, yellow, orange, green, and blue dotted the field sprawled in front of you. You gasped audibly, in awe of the view in front of you. The air was thick with the sweet scent of flowers, the breeze wafting their perfume around you as it brushed the petals and bowed the thin stems in waves. A lone apple tree stood in the middle of the field, matching the rustling of the field as the breeze threaded through it's boughs. The field led to a cliff, which looked out over a hidden cove. The beach below was white sand and turquoise waters.
You stepped forward hesitantly, unwilling to crush any of the beautiful plants. A warm hand landed on your lower back, nudging you forward. You couldn't tear your eyes away from the flowers.
~~~~~~~
He wished you could see yourself from his point of view. His life had been dark and full of violence, but you brought innocence and raw love to his life. You were the light to his shadows, the food for his soul, the gentleness to his calloused fighting.
Your awe at the flower field in front of the two of you froze your entire body, your hand curled in a gentle fist against your chest, over your heart as if checking you weren't dead. You were hardly breathing, as if unwilling to disturb the beauty in front of you.
Tears shone in your eyes, overwhelmed by the excitement and unfiltered, pure awe of the beauty in front of you. You took a small step forward but stopped. He placed a gentle hand on your lower back, nudging you slightly forward. You deserved to experience the beauty he could never bring you as a person.
You deserved everything his crewmates said you did. The open affection, the love, gentle smiles, and innocent caresses, returning the small gestures and kindness you unthinkingly did for him. You massaged his muscles when he over trained, patched up his minor injuries after a fight, and brought him water and fresh towels when he was working out. He wanted to give back. To run a finger over your cheek before kissing you gently, to play with your hair, to cuddle you when you frowned.
Yet, selfishly, he couldn't bring himself to be seen doing it. He couldn't let anyone know you were his weakness, that he loved you enough to give up his dream of being the worlds greatest swordsman for you. It wasn't that he didn't trust his crew, he did. It just terrified him knowing how deeply you affected him- how much he loved you, and how much he would sacrifice for you. He would even destroy the very sun if you asked.
He let his gaze wander over your face. Innocent and pure adoration, the tears in your eyes at the view that surpassed your expectations. You looked beautiful, but he couldn't bring himself to say it because he was falling even harder for you. He nudged you forward gently again with the hand on your back.
She deserves everything.
"Go on. You deserve it" he said quietly.
He met your gaze, letting himself show his affection for you, removing the wall he put up to keep his expression neutral. Fresh tears gathered in your eyes, and he chuckled at your innocence.
"Get out there or I'll carry you" he teased. With a nod, you shuffled forward, and crouched to gently caress the delicate petals of a flower. He could hardly tell them apart, but you had been studying them all morning. You sniffed the flower, and you gazed at the field before suddenly taking off. Your unabashed, pure and kind laughter carried over the field, making him smile at your innocent joy and excitement. You opened your arms as you spun, as if to hug the breeze that tangled it's fingers through your shining hair. Your face turned towards the sun as you breathed deeply, a smile never leaving your face.
He couldn't help the answering smile that graced his own lips. Your beauty and joy sent his heart fluttering as he made his way to the lone apple tree to set up the meal he had packed the two of you, courtesy his begrudging ask of Sanji. He wanted the best for you, and even he had to admit the cook was good at his job.
He was supposed to stay and watch the ship today, but he asked Franky to instead. The damn cyborg had even started bawling when he explained begrudgingly that he wanted to take you on a special date. He considered asking Brook to be nearby to play some of your favorite songs, but he really wanted it to be the two of you during this date, so he asked him to do it tonight, back on the ship. He asked Robin and Usopp to work together to buy some seeds and plant you some flowers from the area in a small planter, so you could always have a little bit of this spring island with you. He even asked Chopper to make an excuse to find the herbs somewhere else. It was lucky that the shopkeeper guided the two of you away from where the reindeer actually needed to go.
He flicked open the blanket, spreading it on the ground beneath the tree. He saw a few ripe apples in the branches, and picked them easily. He heard your footsteps approaching, but didn't look back, focused on reaching the last apple, just out of his reach.
~~~~~~
"What's all this?" you asked breathlessly. Zoro didn't look back. You slid off your shoes before stepping fully on the spread blanket, placing them neatly next to Zoro's boots.
"'s for you" he said before jumping a little to grasp the apple he was trying to pick. As he pulled it from the tree, the branch shook, raining petals and leaves on the two of you. You giggled. He turned around, gaze landing on you, and froze. His eyes were wide and his mouth parted. A blush was coloring his cheeks a red under his tanned skin. He had only reacted like this the first time he saw you naked in his bed. You noticed he had a leaf stuck in his hair, and you chuckled as you reached out to pluck it from his head. He started a little, and pulled you close with an arm around your waist.
"What's wrong?" you tilted your head.
"You..." he trailed off, plucking a light pink petal from your hair.
"Me?"
"God I love you so much" he breathed. Your eyes widened, and you gasped lightly. It was kind of rare for him to say it, preferring to show you. He took a deep breath, exhaling as he cradled your cheeks in his hands. His thumbs drew matching gentle circles on your cheeks, and he lowered his forehead to yours, eyes closed. One of your hands came up to cradle his, the other resting on his hip.
"I know I should be more open about it. I'm a selfish bastard because I just can't let people know that you're my weakness. I can't let them know that I'd give up my dreams, to be the best, for you. Because when I'm with you... nothing else matters. I'd tear down the sun and the moon if it meant you would always be happy and safe. I can't show it because I can't lose you."
His voice sounded strained, as if it caused him pain to speak like this. Your voice caught in your throat, unable to form any words. You could only surge forward in a desperate kiss, which he matched in fervor. You couldn't get enough of him, shoving your tongue into his mouth clumsily to explore it. He grunted in surprise, but quickly adapted, returning the favor quickly. Your hand that was resting on his wrapped around to thread through his windswept hair, and the one that was on his hip slid to his bare chest, trailing down to his haramaki. He groaned into your mouth, his own hands skimming down from your face, featherlight touches down your shoulders and sides until he reached your hips. He broke the kiss, breathless.
"You drive me insane, woman" he muttered as his hands cupped under your ass. He tapped his hands twice, and you took the hint, looping your arms around his neck and jumping to wrap your legs around his waist. He lifted you easily, and you kissed him again. He moaned into the kiss, and you answered with a groan. He knelt smoothly on the blanket, lowering you to your back gently. You broke the kiss, looking at him softly as he hovered above you, hands caging your head.
"You drive me insane too" you muttered with a smile. He smiled lovingly at you.
"Pretty sure that's part of the boyfriend job description" he answered, leaning down to nose your jaw. You huffed a laugh as he tickled your neck with butterfly kisses. You rarely saw this side of Zoro, and each moment made you fall more in love with him. Usually it was desperate, passionate kisses that lead to fucking, and while that was nice, this felt more like you were going to make love. You dragged your hands down his chest, reveling in the warm touch and the chiseled muscles.
"Zoro"
"Hm?" He broke away from your neck, meeting your gaze. Your hands drifted to the front of the shoulders, flexed as he held himself above you.
"I want you" you whispered. His eyes flared with lust.
"Whatever you want, princess" he muttered, lips brushing yours with his words. He covered your lips with his, slightly chapped and tasting like the sweet sake he had on the walk here. You groaned, and you let him explore your mouth with his tongue, running over your teeth and tangling his tongue with yours. Your hands threaded through his hair, scratching his scalp the way he liked. He broke the kiss from your lips and started kissing down your neck, gently biting in places before licking and kissing it as if in apology. A hand wandered under your shirt, caressing your belly, sides, and breasts.
"I don't tell you nearly enough. You're beautiful"
Your breath hitched, and you raised a hand to cover your mouth in shyness. He sat back, and pulled you sitting upright with his movement. He helped you strip from your shirt, decorating your chest with soft kisses. You tilted your head back, a blush on your face, unused to the loving attention. Normally it was pawing and tearing at each other's clothes in desperate lust when you finally got some privacy, but this... this you liked. A lot.
You moaned lightly as his hands deftly removed your bra, then eased you back down gently onto the blanket. He cupped your breasts, thumb rubbing gentle circles over your nipples as his tongue laved over the other one. You moaned quietly, raising a curled hand to your lips in embarrassment. Zoro caught it before it even reached your shoulder, and popped off your nipple to catch your eye as he hovered over your chest.
"Let me hear you. Please." His voice was deepened with lust. You nodded at him, sure your blush was prominent. He huffed a small chuckle, letting himself look at you with all the love he had, a genuine close-lipped smile curving his lips softly.
"Let me take care of you today" he said, kissing the back of your fingers.
You tangled your fingers with his, gazing at him, "Z-zoro".
He leaned down to kiss your lips chastely, before allowing himself to travel down your neck and chest, planting soft kisses on your skin. He whispered praises unabashedly, knowing he could show his love for you openly here. It was safe. His hands kneaded your breasts as if to ground himself.
"I love you so fucking much"
"So beautiful"
"I love how you do so much for me"
"I love how you show me you care for me"
"I love how innocent and carefree you can be"
"I'd give you the world if I could"
He slowly made his way to your shorts, nipping lightly at the skin of your tummy before sliding his hands down your sides and removing your shorts and panties. You lifted your hips to help him. He hummed in appreciation at the sight of you laid bare in front of him, better than any meal he could ever taste. He gently spread your legs, and you tried to keep your thighs closed out of embarrassment. He soothed his warm calloused hands on the outside of your legs, from hips to ankles. He easily placed your knees on his shoulders, and eased himself forward. You parted for him automatically.
"There's my good girl" he cooed. Electrifying heat pooled in your lower abdomen at the words. His words were usually somewhat degrading, which you loved, but his praise trailed heated fingers down your spine. You moaned, and you could feel him smirking against the fat of your thigh as he kissed it. His fingers slid their way over your slit, finding your hole and collecting some slick so he could rub your clit. You hummed at the sensation, breath starting to come faster as you began to lose yourself to his ministrations. His fingers were gently drawing circles on the outside of your clit, making sure you didn't get too stimulated right away.
His face lowered in tandem with his fingers, his tongue quickly finding your clit as his fingers prodded at your hole. One slid in and out a few times before the second finger joined and together, they prodded up into that one spot that sent your toes curling, right as he flicked his tongue expertly on your clit. Your orgasm was sudden and blinding, squeezing around his fingers and your hands finding their way to his head, bringing him closer. He groaned into your cunt, lapping at you like his life depended on it. Your moan was loud, head thrown back and back arched sweetly for him as your thighs squeezed around his head. He only eased his onslaught of pleasure as your thighs loosened their grip and you were pushing away his head.
Your chest was heaving from your pleasure, and he was catching his breath from being happily squished between your thighs. He licked the shiny release he could release from his face, dragging the back of his hand across the rest of his face.
"You like being praised that much, princess?" he teased, a smirk on his face as he shed his coat and haramaki with practiced movements. You could only stare as his muscular frame rippled under his tanned skin. He leaned over you, caging you with his hands on either side of your head. He chuckled, but it was different from the dark laugh that promised difficulty walking the next day. There was a light blush on his cheeks, and he looked genuinely happy. You looked in awe, having never seen this expression on his serious face. He brushed his lips on your cheek, then pulled back.
"You deserve to hear it."
You couldn't help it. At those words, tears brimmed your eyes. Zoro panicked. He sat back on his heels and immediately brought you to his lap, holding you.
"Oi! Wait! Don't cry! Did I hurt you? What's wrong?"
You shook your head, a watery smile breaking through.
"Just... who are you and what have you done with my Zoro? You're all sappy!"
He rolled his eyes and flicked your forehead gently.
"I'm tryna be romantic for once, treat you like you treat me constantly" he muttered, scowling as he looked away. You dissolved into giggles.
"There you are! There's the man I love." He huffed.
"Did you wanna fuck or not?" he asked bluntly, shifting his legs so you could feel his hard length trapped in his pants. It sent the heat of arousal swirling through your veins again.
"I wanna make love" you cooed with a smirk in his ear, pressing your chest against his bare skin. He hissed out a breath.
"Lay down then, princess" he growled in your ear. You could feel him smirking against your cheek, "Let me make love to you" he teased, throwing your own words back at you. His fingers trailed down your spine, landing on your hips. You shifted off his lap and made yourself comfy on the blanket. He stood quickly to removed his pants, but you didn't miss the quick scan of the area to make sure you were alone. Not that he cared if people saw the two of you fucking, he just didn't want this experience ruined.
He sank down and crawled over your form, spreading your legs wide to kneel between them. You absolutely loved when he fucked you in missionary. He was so big and strong, and he stretched you out so well. He surrounded you and was inside of you, and it was both a calming and euphoric sensation.
He stroked his large cock with one hand, the other balancing his weight by your head. You dragged your fingernails up his arm, landing on the back of his shoulder.
"Please, Zoro" you murmured. His silver eye widened a little before his lips curved up softly. He lowered himself in a sort of half one-armed pushup to rest on his elbow. You didn't miss the casual show of strength. Showoff. He eased the tip into your wet pussy, and you hissed in a breath through your teeth as you turned your head into his forearm, biting lightly. Zoro laid kisses on your neck and jaw, distracting you from the stretch. His other arm came up to the other side of your head.
"Good girl. Doing so well" he murmured in your ear. You shivered, the words in his deep voice making you groan. He took it as an invitation to continue, and he slowly began to sheath himself into you. You were soaking. His praise, kisses, godly body, and obvious love all affected you deeply.
"Shit. So tight and wet"
Your hands curled into claws, lightly scratching down his back as you whimpered. He shushed you, caressing a finger down you cheek.
"So good. Taking it so well" he murmured before kissing your lips. You could only moan into the kiss. You raised your legs to rest on his sides and hips. He reached deeper and you moaned loudly at the sensation.
"Good fuckin girl. Doing so good for me. Took my whole cock on the first try" He moaned into the flesh of your throat. You whined, arching your back. The new angle hit something devastating deep inside, and you mewled.
"Look at you, so beautiful for me"
"Zoro~ move" you moaned. He started slow, letting you get used to the stretch, but quickly built his pace to a steady, smooth one that sent you keening. His thick cock was dragging along your walls, pulling out enough so his tip was pushing gently on your g spot, before pushing in smoothly with a roll of his hips that had his cockhead pushing that one spot deep inside. Your breath was heaving, interspersed between moans and calls of his name. It was so good, but you couldn't quite reach the peak.
"Please, let me cum" you begged desperately. Zoro grunted above you, raising himself so his palms were beside your head. He hardly broke his rhythm as he looked at you with a dark smile.
"I thought you wanted me to make love to you" he teased. You reached up, cupping his cheek with a hand.
"Romance me later. Fuck me. Now"
"As you wish, princess" he mocked.
He pulled out, kneeling in front of your hips as he slung your legs over his shoulders. He simply picked up your hips, and started slamming his cock in and out of your pussy. Skin slapping together echoed across the field, and your wails followed. With your back bowed off the ground, you had no control over your hips, but the angle was incredible. Your hands gripped the blanket uselessly, unable to hold back your moans and sounds of pleasure. Above you, Zoro was grunting and swearing under his breath. You could tell he was getting close, seeing you bent so sweetly under him.
"God fucking damn it. You're just sucking me in" he growled. You tightened at the praise. You heard him chuckle darkly.
"That's right baby. Feel so good, tightening on my cock like that. I want you to cum for me, like that. Needing me to hold you up like this. You look so pretty, under me like this"
As he spoke, the knot in your abdomen tightened to dangerous levels. Your legs tensed until you were practically hanging from his shoulders. At the new tension holding you up, Zoro could wrap one hand around your thighs holding them together as he held you up, lightly choking himself with your calves on the sides of his neck as he brought one hand to snake around to your torso. His warm hand pressed down on your lower abdomen, and he could feel his own length as he pistoned in and out of you. A new sensation began to build.
"Z-Zoro- something- ah! please! I'm gonna-"
"Go ahead. Cum hard on my fucking cock"
His thumb reached down to draw circles on your clit, and at the rough touch, you exploded. Your mouth opened in a silent scream, and Zoro kept your thighs tightly against himself, slowly only slightly as you tightened around him enough to start to push him out. Your back bowed further, and you felt yourself wetting his torso as you squirted. His body shuddered as his hips stuttered to a stop, a loud groan leaving him as you unwittingly limited the blood flow to his head with your spasming calves. Had your eyes been open and focused, you would've seen his eyes fluttering and rolled back in his head, cumming hard.
Both you were breathless as Zoro lowered your hips back down to the blanket, collapsing beside you, uncaring of the mess.
"holy shit" you breathed. Zoro started to chuckle at your swearing, and you joined, giggling as you rolled to snuggle onto his shoulder. He held you close, and you reveled in the touch. Suddenly you sat up, looking concerned and turned his head to the side to look at his neck.
"Did I choke you? I just realized that maybe my legs-"
"I'm fine. I liked it" he took your hand in yours, looking sheepish, "It's almost like being squeezed by your thighs when I eat you out."
You blinked at him, easing yourself back down.
"Huh. Who would've thought you had a choking kink" you muttered to yourself. Zoro swatted your bare ass lightly in retaliation, but didn't deny your words. He wasn't a liar. The two of you laid there in easy silence, listening to the breeze and inhaling the sweet perfume. You shifted, feeling the uncomfortable squelch of drooling cum from your pussy.
"Let's get cleaned up" your boyfriend suggested, sitting up. Clear droplets rolled down his torso with the movement, and you watched their movements.
"I don't think I've ever cum that hard" you said quietly. Zoro handed you a napkin he produced from his bag.
"Me either" he admitted. You giggled, still somewhat delirious from the post-sex high.
"What did you pack?" you asked curiously. You were starting to get hungry, and you were thirsty from your heaving breaths. Zoro silently handed you your clothes, and you took them gratefully. He began pulling out a meal and drinks from his bag, and it was obvious Sanji packed it with care. You smiled softly, understanding the sentiment. Zoro sucked up his pride to make you happy for a day.
You crawled over to him, still naked, and pressed your chest to his slightly sweaty back as you hugged him. He grunted at your sudden affection, and you leaned forward to kiss his cheek.
"I love you, and I know you love me too. I see it in the small things, the things you can't hide. We love each other, and that's what matters. Don't let what they say get to you. I'll start telling the crew to stay out of it too" you said, determined. He somehow slung you around him and into his lap, an innocent smile on his face.
"Whatever you want to do. As long as you know that I love you"
You smiled easily in return, kissing the tip of his nose.
"Get dressed. You're naked" you said, crawling off his lap. You weren't sure if you could even stand up after that round.
Zoro landed a solid swat to your bare ass retreating from him, "you're one to talk"
------
That evening back on the ship, Brook played your favorite songs, and you were surprised when Zoro thanked Usopp and Robin in front of you. They had gone above and beyond, creating a tiny greenhouse planter for your soon-to-be spring flower garden. Sanji asked if you liked the food, and you thanked him. Even Zoro held his tongue, simply nodding at the cook. That night, as you lay in bed with your boyfriend, you ran your fingers over his earrings before trailing your touch down his jaw. He opened his eye curiously.
"Thank you for today" you murmured. You didn't know how to begin describing how much it meant to you, so you simply kissed him gently, trying to pour your emotion into the kiss. He cupped your cheek, pulling back from the kiss.
"I love you" he muttered. You smiled softly. His walls were up again, but you could never doubt his words. He never lied. Not to you.
"I love you too, Zoro"

Pre-Timeskip! This takes place during the Alabasta Arc. I planned on making this into a mini series with other scenarios.

It has to be a dream...
One moment ago, you were just studying for your college midterms and the next thing you knew, black spots covered your vision causing you to pass out on your desk. Well maybe passing out was your fault since you stayed up for a whole two days straight with nothing but caffeine to keep you energized.
But how did it comes to this?
"Oi...Are you dead?"
A pair of curious eyes poked your form the moment you started to wake up. A somehow familiar face greets you. Tan skin with a noticable scar on the lower left side of his eye and a straw hat. Unlike him, His crew had a look of suspicion as they surround the two of you.
'No way....'
How come you found yourself staring face to face with the Strawhat pirates?!
"What...?"
You can only gawked in shock. There in flesh were Luffy, Sanji, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, Vivi and Chopper. All staring back at you with a mixed of bewilderment and cautiousness.
"Where....Am I...?"
"Hey....Are you okay?! Stop that! Your hurting yourself!"
You questioned yourself, slightly distraughted.
Sweet Chopper got worried seeing how tightly you started gripping your hair with both of your hands. Because of his natural caring nature as a doctor, he immediately approached and grab your hands to stop you from hurting yourself further.
"Nooo! I can't take my exams now!"
Tumblr media
Seeing that Vivi and Karoo are with the crew, you concluded that you were transported during the Alabasta arc. With Chopper already being there, that means that they had already been to Drum Island and are now on their way to stop the war brewing in the sand nation.
The Strawhats were somehow nice enough to let you stay with them for a while, although deep down, you knew it was because of seeing you in your most pathetic state.
Well most likely since you're a woman and Sanji is the type of man that will never deny a damsel in distress.
But ofcourse, you didn't want to end up on any of their bad side, and since they allowed you to stay with them, you decided to atleast try to be useful to help around the ship.
Only to find out that you have zero experience in managing a ship. You can't tie knots nor lift heavy equipments, Chopper had to help you out when the Going Merry's cannon accidentally fell on you.
All you could do was learn by observing others do their tasks, respectively.
Zoro was far more suspicious along with Usopp who was wary of you, so you couldn't ask any of them for any pointers. Nami, tried to teach you how to stir the ship but you somehow managed to get off course, so she had to step in, not after yelling at you ofcourse.
As much as Chopper helped you out whenever you were struggling, he was a bit too afraid to actually talk to you. And you like Sanji, but you hate how he treats you like a delicate and fragile glass to the point that he never let you help out whenever he's nearby.
Luffy and Vivi were the only ones who are normal around you. Luffy being somehow curious with your mannerism and weird habits. You were slightly glad that he was still the Luffy you knew in the show.
"Where did you came from, (Name)?"
He would often ask the most random questions about you. And whenever you answer, you could feel the eyes of the crew lingers your form.
"Some where really far away..."
"But I doubt that I can return back..."
You answered honestly. It had been a few days since you got sent into this world and you still don't understand how you managed to get here. You knew that you don't belong here, and without the Strawhats, you would probably be dead by now.
The Grandline is indeed a terrifying place, so you have to do what you must if you want to survive in this world.
Luckily for you, you read a few isekai mangas along with those popular korean manhwas back in your world. So with your One Piece knowledge, you have a slightly advantage of knowing what will happen next. However, you kept silent of that, as you were still trying to figure out what you were suppose to do.
In the world of pirates, a sane person would ask the crew to drop them off to a nearby island, however you were far from sane.
You are in the One Piece universe, how can you miss all those major event, nor miss the opportunity to meet some of your favorite characters.
There were two options for you, To become a pirate or marine. You did considered trying to join the revolutionary army, but you didn't like people bossing you around as you go on missions.
As much as you want to see the adorable Captain Koby as a marine, you weren't that keen to get beatened up by pirates. What if you meet those famous characters of the series, you'll definitely die.
So your only option is to become a pirate, being already on board the Going Merry. Besides, you doubt Luffy will let you go now that he has taken an interest on you, not that you know what he saw on you anyways.
You stayed up a few nights, trying to recall the future events that might happen soon. You wrote them down on a notebook that Nami gave you, not before giving you an interest of paying her back. She was slightly suprised on how you just smiled and told her that you'll somehow find the berries for it.
And now, your habit of not sleeping came back. It's like your studying your notes for an upcoming quiz again. You wrote down everything you remembered regarding the current arc you were in right now.
But first, you have to earn the crew's trusts. So you made a lot of effort to get to know them.
Their personalities were still the same like how it is on the series. There was also somethings that weren't mentioned yet you were able to notice small details while being around them.
Whenever Luffy goes feral at the sight of meat, he would let out small growls when someone approached him. It became noticeable whenever he's really hungry.
You were never a threat, Zoro saw that. You were just a weird helpless woman who somehow just ended up in their ship. Surely he was cautious around you, but seeing how you trip on your own two feet made him rethink of his assumptions that you were a spy sent by baroque works.
"Please...! Teach me how to fight...!"
At your most desperate tone, you plead Zoro to train you. If you have to survive, then you need to learn how to fight.
"Worry not, Mademoiselle! For I shall be there to protect you from those filthy trolls that dares to lay a even a finger on your delicated skin...!"
Sanji straight up told you with hearts on his eyes as he fawn over you having him as your Prince charming on a white horse. You won't learn anything from him.
"Sorry, (Name). I'm not exactly an adept brawler like Sanji, Luffy or Zoro."
"Fighting is not really my expertise. Just ask the guys about it."
Nami and Usopp aren't really much of a fighter, so they wouldn't be able to help that much. And Luffy is out of the question.
"Fighting? Just throw hard punches like this! Oh wait, you can't stretch..."
As much as you like Luffy, his fighting style is a bit too reckless for your liking and you doubt that he can teach you without getting side tracked.
And you can't just ask Vivi, like Nami, she's more of a dictator rather than a fighter. Surely she can fight, but you doubt using whip like weapons is fit for you.
So Zoro was your last hope. Watching anime for as long as you can remember, swords is something you were familiar of and You always wanted to learn how to use a sword, and Zoro being a skilled swordsman could maybe teach you a thing or two to atleast defend yourself.
"If you're asking for my help, you must have a good reason. But why should I help you..?"
Zoro was still wary of you, yet you can see that he was less hostile than he was when you first ended up at Going Merry's deck.
"Unlike any of you guys here, I'm the most vulnerable...! I'll die the moment the Navy or another pirate ship appears!"
Okay, you could have sworn that you sounded and look like another Usopp in his eyes.
"If you're serious about learning to fight, you'll have to prove your dedication. Show me you're worth the effort, and maybe, just maybe, I'll consider teaching you a thing or two."
Zoro was dead serious. But it also look like he's willing to teach you how to weild a sword if your resolve was strong enough.
"I'll do it! I want to learn how to defend myself. I can't rely on you guys all the time."
Seeing him suddenly grin, you knew you were about to experience hell.

Akward Morning Luffy x reader
Tumblr media
Nickname included is Je, which you can replace. Crazy strawhats being crazy. Enjoy.
Part 2 ----> Here
Tumblr media
Morning dawned over the horizon, the Straw Hat Pirates waking up from their slumber. Luffy was snoring away, sprawled like a starfish across your bed, you also still sleeping, an arm over his waist, and head on his shoulder.
Loud knocking woke your boyfriend up, as he heard Usopp saying something. Yawning and stretching, he stood up and tapped to the door, hand in his hair as he opened it. "Usopp? What´s wrong?" "Ah! You´re here! I thought you-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!", his best friend began to talk but drifted off, screaming loudly at him.
"Why are you screaming?", asked Luffy. " YOU´RE NAKED!!!!". Silence came over them as Luffy looked down. "Oh, no wonder that I feel so cold" "Luffy! You-" "mmh", Usopp got interrupted by your voice, Luffy looking over with a grin. "Je is currently waking up. What is-USOPP!!", Luffy saw his best friend pale as a ghost.
Slaaming the door in his face, Luffy was confused but turned around. "He´s weird today" "Who is?", you spoke, finally up, stretching yourself. "Usopp! I guess Sanji put something in his food, or Chopper tested some medicine on him...pants pants", he said and looked around for his pants.
"Morning everyone!", shouted Luffy as you both arrived in the kitchen. Sanji looked something in between mad and sad. "Why, you lucky bastard?!" "Hm?" "Why do you slept by our Goddess again?! I want to be the one next to her" "Sanji I told you my room is always open for anyone", you admitted with a soft smile.
"But my Goddess! I mean sleeping by your side! Not that rubber idiot!!! Waking up next to you would be a blessing for my heart and soul, to see you the first thing in the morning!", he began to swoon around you.
During breakfast, Usopp poked in his food before pushing it away. "Usopp? Are you ok? Not eating?", Franky asked. "Are you sick?!". Chopper was worried. "Oi, you better eat it long nose"
"No. I can´t", he said, hands in a prayer, his index fingers touching his lips. "A stomachache?", asked Robin. "That would be better than what I saw!", he admitted. "A monster?" "Sea King?" "Your face in the mirror?", asked Zoro. "You bastard! No!!! THESE TWO!", he pointed to you and Luffy.
"Eh, did we do something wrong?", you asked. "Not that I remember", said Luffy and took his best friends plate. "Don´t you play with me! My innocence is gone!!!" "You? And innocent?", Nami was more than doubtful. "Yes! Before it clicked on them!"
"What did you do, Luffy?", asked Robin. "Nothing! He knocked and I opened and then he screamed", admitted your boyfriend before you feed him, making him shine.
"YOU WERE BUTT ASS NAKED!!!", the sniper yelled so loudly that his voice cracked, "AND SHE WAS STILL IN BED! YOUR CLOTHES WERE EVERYWHERE! YOU TWO FUCKED!!!"
Silence. "Yohohohoho, Usopp-san, I think you were still dreaming", laughed Brook. "Ah, no. He was right. Je and I slept together", grinned Lu widely, while you blushed bright red.
"WHAAAAAAAAA?!", Nami, Sanji and Chopper screamed. The rest was too shocked to speak. "Luffy! What did you do?!", Nami was about to attack him. "What? I didn´t put a baby in Je" "How the hell do you know how that works?!", Sanji was having a meltdown. "Of course I know how sex works. I´m not dumb!", protested your captain.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!! Our captain is more man than you, hentai-brow!", laughed Zoro. "Fu fu fu, was it fun?" "Robin!" "Yes! With Je it is always fun. We laugh and have fun, and kiss us a lot" "Wait...always?", asked Franky.
"Yeah, we did it a couple times already", beamed Luffy with innocence and you could vanish. Usopp stood up. "Usopp?", asked Chopper. "It was nice meeting you all, I sacrifice myself to the Sea" "USOPP NO!!!", Chopper cried. "I´m traumatized for life! Luffy and ...THIS! Is something that I never thought would happen" "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Luffy-kun, you are a real man now!", laughed Jinbe, everyone completely ignoring Sanji and Zoro fighting outside.
"Yohohoho, Luffy-san?" "Yes brook?" Brook bend down to him. "What color are her panties today?", he asked, awaiting as your boyfriend closed his eyes. "mmmh...ah! Blue like the sky" "Yohohohohoho", Brook dripped blood from his nose. "YOU PERVERT!", Nami kicked him full force outside.
You finally stood up. "Je?" "I shoot myself to the sun", you admitted, face high red as you walked out, the chaos continued.

y/n gets turned into a child by someone’s devil fruit power and zoro takes care of her
Childs Play
(SFW)
Warning: protective Zoro, yelling, mention of fighting, mention of swords, mention of poison and medicine, mention of being hurt
Summary: After being attacked by the Ko Ko no Mi and turned into a child, Zoro refused to let you out of his sight until you turned back. Losing his way back to the ship his day only grew worse, tackling numerous setbacks as he fought to return you to your friends; desperate to turn you back.
Word Count: 3,400
Tumblr media
Zoro knew splitting up was a bad idea.
From the moment the crew had landed on the island he had a strange feeling, instantly sinking his stomach. It was if someone was watching him, and although he remained senseless around the rest of the crew, he grew paranoid something were to happen to you.
His protests were ignored as the crew decided to split, losing you to a gathering including the navigator and sniper; heightening his fears more. Luffy encouraged him that you were strong and would be okay, distracting Zoro with concerns for his clueless captain as they trailed through the island.
Once the crew had reunited at the designated spot perched on the other side of the island, Zoro's fears resurfaced. His group was the last to arrive - due to his own useless sense of direction and Luffy's lack of attention - everybody unusually quiet upon their return. There were no half-ass remarks about their lateness, no stab at his sense of direction, not even a smirk from Sanji.
Something was wrong.
Darting his eye around, Zoro noted everyone was here, all except for you. Your group bunched together, and despite your height difference, he could spot you easily within a busy crowd.
His heart dropped.
"Where's (Y/n)?" Zoro questions, his fears rising. His voice cracked as he spoke, clearly distressed upon his missing partner.
The crew you were assigned to looked at each other, sheepishly avoiding responding; knowing how protective he was over you. It was obvious to the crew how much he cared for you, giving into the constant teasing as soon as you confidently reciprocated his feelings.
"Well..." Nami finally spoke, looking behind her. "She's here"
Everybody's eyes darted to Nami, watching as she lead through a small child from behind her, hanging onto her leg. The small child resembled all you same features, carrying the same style and hair down to the miniature weapon attached to your hip. Slowly you lifted your head up, flashing your large bright eyes up to Zoro, almost pleading for him to help.
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?" Zoro moved quickly towards Nami, meeting you as you held your arms out, letting him scoop you into his chest. He carefully tucked you into the open flap of his robe, holding you close as if to shield you from his own anger.
"We got attacked by a group of pirates. Y/n was stuck against someone with the Ko Ko no Mi, and he turned her into a child" Robin kept her voice poised, wishing to diffuse Zoro's rage.
"Well why didn't you get him to turn her back?"
"They fled the island before we had the chance"
Zoro sighed, darting his eye down to look at you, quickly checking over that you were okay. You had remained silent since he saw you, pressed tightly to the bodies of people who cared for you, feeling almost helpless of your small state. Although suffocated in the fabric of Zoro's robe you remained unharmed, not even a scratch resting upon your skin.
This time Zoro stood his ground, his paranoia had left you affected and he wouldn't let it happen to you again. He didn't care who listened to him, he needed to reverse what had happened to you, even if it meant doing it alone.
"Do you think you can turn her back?" Zoro looked down towards Chopper, having faith in the young doctors abilities.
Chopper thought for a moment, doubting his own skills. It would be a challenge, to reverse a devil fruit curse, however, the doctor was up for it; knowing it would help his friend.
"I'll do my best, Zoro!"
"That's my boy"
Dismissing the original plan, the crew headed back towards the ship, prioritising your health. As the island deemed quiet, a unanimous decision was made that exploring the island could wait until you were back to normal; or better yet find the pirate who attacked you. Zoro situated huddled in the middle of the crew, guarding you close to his body, your head resting against his chest. Every now and then you would make small squeaks, alerting him to look down, checking on you. He would meet your gaze, much wider and softer than when you were your regular age, eyes brimming with almost iridescent tears as if you were in a constant stage of worry.
Leaning down, Zoro swiftly pressed his lips to the top of your head, more comfort than romance, reassuring you that you were safe with him. As he looked up he stopped, halted by the sudden disappearance of the crew; having only seen them moments before. He looked around, checking every direction he could to search for any sign of his friends, listening out for their voices.
"Zoro?" you muffled, voice cracking in fear. You voice had heightened in pitch, making it seem almost deafening, as if you were straining your voice to be heard. "I'm scared"
Zoro grunted, his hand coming up to shield you, sliding you deeper under his robe. "It's alright, Y/n, nothing is going to happen to you"
"You promise?"
"Yeah, I promise"
Holding his other hand over his swords, Zoro decided to move, pressing on through the thick shrubs in hope to find someone from the crew. He called out various names, alternating through the crew, purposely leaving out Sanji due to bitter intent. When he was met with silence he gave up, swapping directions to trudge slowly up a steep hill.
It stood overly wide, however the incline provided a challenge, a slippery wet loosening his grip to climb. Huffing harder, Zoro dug his heels in firm, trudging on despite the obvious struggles. From his perspective, the top of the hill looked promising, proving a clear source of light to look down upon the island; hoping to make the whereabouts of the ship more noticeable.
As he eventually reached the top, Zoro noted a thick fog that wasn't there before. It circled around him quickly, hazing in deep purple and blue, stretching around as to push him to retreat back down where he came from. Deciding to push on he took a few steps into the fog, understanding the danger if he were to slip with you attached to him.
His movements were groggy, as if wading through water, slowing down the more he reached the apex of purple; unable to see. You coughed heavily, taking in the laced air, spluttering at the bitter taste. As Zoro inhaled he could feel his body begin to shut down, blackening out as if the fog held some kind of poisonous properties.
Swearing under his breath, Zoro tried to move, wishing to escape and get you to freedom, your body already growing limp in his chest. He didn't care what direction he faced, he needed to get you to freedom, even if it meant back down the hill.
His movements grew sluggish, slowing him to a holt, the fog clinging to his body in a tight pull. It weaved through his legs, sticking against him to weight him down, noticeably thickening as it made contact.
One hand continued to hold you against his chest, keeping hidden, delusional that it would shield you against the fog, but he had to try. His other loosened his sword, quickly pulling it into action, the coagulation thickening the longer he stayed still. In smooth motions he chopped around his legs, slicing through the thick purple clumps, careful not to range you in his swing.
As he attacked, the fog began to disperse, thinning into a light and pliable ribbon, dazzling in iridescent tones. It moved along the now visible grass, weaving like a snake on the run, frightened by his impressive techniques. The rest of the fog followed, leaving him gasping for deep breaths, relieved his senses were returning. Caught in his overwhelming breaths, Zoro dropped onto his knees, bending forward to cuddle you, listening out for any disturbance in your body.
Zoro's sword dropped next to his side, half hidden through the strands of grass, his care shifting back to you, his surroundings clear. He was unsure how this happened, viewing the island for hours in a quiet and peaceful light, the sudden attack seeming alien to the island he thought he knew.
In gentle pats, he tapped against your back, half-remembering Chopper's care upon a choking crewmate; actions softer due to your vulnerable build. You let out a hearty cough against his chest, relieving Zoro as he sat up, easing his tight hold against your frame. His eye was quick to look around, assessing his next move, noting a clear in his surroundings promising him what he previously believed.
Situated through a winding road, covered by a small village, sat the Thousand Sunny, the masts clear and calling to Zoro with inviting intent. He chucked a small smile, proud of his defeat, feeling less hopeless than before. Dismissing to anyone who wasn't you, he would argue his sense of directions were strong, however, having you here relying on him to guide you he held some uncertainty in that statement. The ship was now in plain sight, all Zoro had to do was push on and follow the sails.
Not without some help, however.
"Oi" Zoro outstretched his arm, pointing to the sails. "You see that out there?"
Your head turned, focusing on the ship you recognised well. It deemed bigger now you had shrunk, an advantage to you Zoro was sure of.
"Keep an eye on it for me, alright? I need you to guide us back there safely"
Agreeing with a small squeak, you repositioned to face out, adjusting your back against Zoro's chest. His hand stayed over you, keeping you pinned against him, proud of your continued determination to find your friends.
Out of the corner of his eye, Zoro noticed a strange figure lunging beside him, hurling towards him at outstanding speeds. In an instant Zoro reached for his swords, forgetting about the one lost through the grass, shielding you both in a cross of clattered metal.
There stood a moment of harsh clatter, echoing through your ears, almost deafening. As they collided, Zoro's hand came away, letting an unbalance tip you forward.
You hit the grass with a small yelp, rolling down the other side of the hill before Zoro had a chance to stop you; quickly falling out of his sight. Torn between following you and defending himself, Zoro struggled to keep focus, slipping against the wielded sword that would usually be split by his full attention.
The figure holding the sword revealed to be a man, no larger than Zoro's arm, fluttering in mid-air. Behind stood a pair of deep black wings, curling as they hummed with every flick, motioning a small gust of wind. As he opened his mouth, a blood curdling scream shot through the air, Zoro's ears popping at the sound. He had never come across someone so perplexing, unsure if this person was a figment of his imagination; twisted from the lack of air left from the fog.
Understanding he didn't have time to think it over, Zoro forced himself to pull whatever energy he had into this fight, willing to forget about your safety for a moment.
Clattering their blades with a steady rhythm, each reciprocated each others drawn attacks, matching one another perfectly. The man continued to dance around Zoro's head, spinning with grace and precision dodging each strike as neatly as Zoro did with him. They continued their dance for mere minutes, Zoro growing agitated at the passing time, knowing he needed to get to you quickly.
Switching his attention to the blade in his left hand, Zoro allowed the one in his right to curl around, swiping at the man's feet. The man forced another scream, dodging the attack as he moved to the left, striking back at Zoro with the same enthusiasm.
In the split second the man counteracted his attack, Zoro was preparing his next move, allowing a more predictable wave to fool the unsuspecting man. He had run this attack many times before, luring the man in for his upcoming sword style, itching to use it against someone as agile as him.
"Nana-Juu-Ni Pound Ho; 72 Pound Cannon!"
Landing on his feet, Zoro's eye caught his fallen sword, ignoring the sound of the man's body crashing to the ground. He didn't have the time nor the empathy to check the man's status, fleeing the scene his only chance and returning to you.
In one quick move he yanked back his sword, placing it steady into the holder, his body in a rush to follow in the direction you rolled.
Running down the hill, Zoro struggled to keep up, tripping over himself as he called out your name, unwilling to give up until he saw you. Fed up with the brutal antics of this island, a blistering heat burned his ears, ready to take you home. He was tired, ultimately exhausted by the building stress through the day, unsure why this once quiet island had turned against him now. He had lost you once, ending in a disaster, and he would be damned to let it happen again.
He couldn't lose you again.
"Y/N!" Zoro screamed, looking around desperately as he reached the base of the hill. Everything seemed like a blur, mixing into a wash of colour that stretched beyond the horizon. Everything seemed too much, too loud, his breathing so rapid he could feel his chest cave with each crack of his ribs.
"Zoro!"
Turning towards the sweet voice, Zoro tumbled into the grass, crawling until he met you; pulling you towards him in one tight move. His hands shook as he held you, deeply sorry for lowering his guard and putting you in danger. He couldn't imagine what he would do if he couldn't find you, see you, returning back to the ship with his tail between his legs desperate for assistance to find you.
His eye curled at the sight of your face, noting the specks of dirt and the tangle in your hair, down to the long scratch that dawned across your cheekbone, mimicking that of your captain.
He had caused this.
"I'm so sorry..." Zoro trailed off, positioning you back into his robe "I promise I'll get you back to the ship now, okay? Just stay tucked away and I'll do everything else. I'm sorry I let this happen"
Deciding to move on his promise, Zoro quickly returned to his feet, forgetting about the earlier agreement between you both. You looked over your shoulder, pointing towards a patch of blue dotted between tall pine trees, unusually sparse for this time of year. You didn't wish to let his regret linger over you both, nor did you wish to sit by after feeling Zoro be so deflated. "There".
Zoro followed your finger, nodding as he trusted your instincts more than his own, taking off towards the town that clouded the ship. He was quick to move, wishing to avoid lingering, feeling as if he had wasted enough time. He refused to part his eye off the sail, latching onto it, despite his clumsy attempt to wade to safety.
Taking in a deep breath, Zoro felt relieved stepping foot through the town, ignoring the blatant stares as he moved through the crowds of people. He knew it was an odd sight compared to the quiet life the townspeople were used to, a strange face shifting opposite the grain of people. He could sense their judgement as he picked up his pace, practically running through the street to get to the dock, relying on you to keep him concentrated.
You continued to point in the direction of the sail, knowing as soon as you were to stop Zoro would lose his sense of direction. You could sense his worry, however tried to remain calm, knowing the ship was gaining closer and soon you would be able to return to your usual size.
The familiar large black flag danced overhead, drawing you both in like a song. The sturdy lion-like figurehead a clear motive of who you were and what you aspired for with your friends. Everything was perfect and grand, just the way you remember it to be.
You were finally back.
You had arrived at The Thousand Sunny.
"Oi!" Zoro called, racing faster to the side of the ship, straining his voice up to whoever was on board. It was silent for mere moments, sinking his relief, unsure if there truely was anybody on board after all.
A shrill squeak of Chopper's voice muffled above him, stopping Zoro, unsure whether he was imagining the doctors words. As your head moved towards the sound, Zoro realised the additional presence, calling out once more to guide him.
A bold figure of Nami stood beside Chopper, screaming at Zoro for becoming lost; stating he only had one job. However, Zoro ignored her words, proudly hoisting you against his side, wrapped against his bicep. Jumping up he scaled the side of the ship, letting his impressive muscles guide his way with one hand.
"I did it!" Chopper beamed, waving his arms around to gain his attention. There was an undoubtably proud smile etched across his face, amazed at his own talent to brew such a mixture, following the book to precise instructions. Zoro returned the smile, the confidence in his voice encouraging you both to move faster.
"I didn’t think it could be done; finding an antidote for a devil fruit curse but here it is! I did it, Zoro!"
Landing firm on the deck, Zoro let you go, wriggling free out of his arms, watching as you met Chopper with an excited squeal. Your feet threatened to cave under you, speeding towards the young doctor with a rush of adrenalin, bursting to return back to how you were before. "Y/n, you'll be back to your normal size in no time at all"
Snatching the tall vial from his grip, you quickly sloshed down the thin blue liquid, underlying with a refreshing minty taste. You trusted your friend without a doubt, giving no rise into his outstanding care in the past; all the more reason to take the antidote.
Feeling the liquid run down your throat caused a slight burn, spreading through your body. In a moment of shock you dropped the vial, stepping away as your body creaked under your skin, building an uncomfortable climax.
Chopper called out to you, stepping forward as you finally collapsed, crying out as one-by-one your bones stretched out, familiarising back to your normal body. The sensation was more shocking than painful, unable to distinguish where in the body would be next; and how much longer it would last. Caught up in the motions you shut your eyes tight, wishing for the burn to fade soon. You were unable to distinguish Chopper's voice anymore - nor Zoro or Nami - spiralling into a web of darkness.
After one final brutal snap, your body eased, like a flicker of light shocking your body. A relived sigh delighting your voice, no longer high pitched or whining, deeper than you remembered it to be. You were panting heavily, the rush exhausting your body as you struggled to get up; feeling the presence of your friends still around you, much closer than before. A slight flutter opened your eyes up to the addition of more than just Zoro and Nami; your scream alerting the rest of the crew of your whereabouts. However, drawn towards him in the usual divine way, Zoro caught your attention.
Your eyes met up at Zoro as he squatted down in front of you, his hand coming up to your cheek. His touch was careful and warm, brushing your jaw with a slight squeeze of satisfaction seeing you the way he loved; just as you were. Behind his eye he was exhausted, a hard day defending you clearly taking the toll on his emotions, unsure how the day would plan out. But for now he was relieved to see you, feel you rest in the palm of his hand, knowing that he did all he could to protect you; and nobody would ever be able to come between you both.
"Welcome back, beautiful"

Pairing: Nico Robin x Y/N
Dialogue: “You’re so cute when you’re sleepy.” 🌸🌺
A/n: I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing this! <3

Nico Robin leaned in closer to you as you lay curled up in her arms, your head nestled against her chest. Your eyes were still closed, your lips slightly parted as you breathed softly.
"You're so cute when you're sleepy," she whispered, her voice soft and gentle. She ran her fingers through your hair, tangling them in the strands.
You stirred slightly, your eyes slowly opening to meet your lover's gaze. Your eyes held a mix of sleepiness and contentment, making Robin's heart skip a beat.
"Mmm," you murmured, your voice still groggy. You looked up at her, a small smile playing on your lips.
"You're just saying that because you're tired too," you teased, a hint of laughter in your tone.
Robin shook her head, her eyes filled with fondness. "No, it's true," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "You have no idea how adorable you look when you're half asleep."
You nodded, still half asleep. "I can sleep forever with you," you whispered, your lips barely moving.
Robin leaned down to kiss your forehead, her touch gentle and soft. "Don't worry, my love," she said, her voice filled with warmth and tenderness. "I'll always be here with you, holding you close and protecting you."
As you drifted off again, Robin brushed a stray lock of hair away from your face, her smile never fading. You might have been sleepy, but in her arms, you always felt safe and cherished.
The soft glow of candlelight flickered across the room, casting a warm and intimate ambiance. The gentle crackling of the fireplace added to the coziness, as the scent of a freshly brewed cup of tea wafted through the air.
Nestled in Robin's arms, you felt enveloped in a bubble of tranquility, the outside world fading away as you surrendered to the comfort of her embrace.
In that moment, you realized that nothing else mattered. The world could be chaotic and uncertain, but as long as you were in Robin's arms, you felt an overwhelming sense of security and love.
It was as if all your worries and fears melted away, leaving only the warmth of her embrace and the assurance that you were exactly where you were meant to be. . . .

like its so surprising to see him pass with a low b high c average
he's really likeable, everyone and they momma wants to hang out with him
usally hanging out with sanji (bc he cooks) or zoro (caus he thinks he's cool)
he tutors with nami and robin sometimes (they're the only ones that can deal with him on the regular)
he's so silly and goofy i love him your honor
zoro
bussniess major but is never doing what he needs to do
classes? not in them. Homework? What's that? he is no where to be found and that should scare you.
he's somehow doing well in class and no one can figure out how he's doing it.
he's the captain of the fighting club (first rule of fight club? no talking about fight club) and he's good with members and running them
he hates the idea of hazing in his club and will kick you out if you try it
he has a special bond with one of the advisors given to him and he defends him like hell
he hangs around luffy bc he thinks of him as a little brother and wants to make sure he's alright
fights with sanji because he thinks its sooooo fucking funny
he's a regualar at the local bar to the point they don't even I.D him anymore they're just like "there's zoro."
sanji
definitely a food science major
he loves trying out new recipes and helping in the kitchen
sometimes when money gets low, he'll have a bake sale and they always do really fucking well
sometimes he'll take apprentenships for "fun" and so he's just racked up expirence in working in different places
his dream job is to have his own resturant where he can create his own dishes and not take any shit from anyone
also (because my sanji is a weed smoker not a cig user) will sometimes make weed pastries and they do so well when he sells them
would be outside on a smoke break but somehow never smells like weed its so crazy
would be the type of student to grumble and complain about homework but still do it anyway (he's just like me fr)
ussop
went to a shopworking trade school (his momma didn't want him to learn nothing after high school so she made him)
he found out later that he like working on different things and keeping himself busy
he also like gardening in his spare time
he's like really good at it and sometimes when his garden is too much for his family, he'll either give it to his neighbors or sell it in the farmer's market
his most frequent customer is sanji because sanji likes the freshest products avaliable
sanji askes him to hang out and try his recipes from time to time and eventually he makes friends with everyone
nami
earth sceiene major with minor in accounting
she is the the most ruthless student you'll ever meet
she don't take any shit from no one regardless of who you are, which is why she makes such a good tutor
she makes sure all her students get a good grade and because she tutors both zoro and luffy, she makes BANK
she also is the pretty girl on campus and all her friends pretty too !
hair done, lashes done, lashes done, face card don't decline, body tea !
she loves hanging out with the group but she'll never tell you that but everyone knows she cares about her people
she's lowkey scary

fiercely loyal my girl nami is badddd
robin
history major with a minor in english
knows everything about everything and is one of the best tutors of the campus
she's kinda shy (mostly cause she doesn't like people but she's trying)
luffy thought she was cool and just kept bothering her until she reluctantly accepted
she's a real history buff and can debate her history like no one else
once got into it with zoro for a peice of random history
chopper
struggling medicene major
he looks stressed at all times and somehow is keeping a 4.0 gpa
luffy and zoro will come over with brusises and he just takes one look at him and sighs deeply
he helps in the nursing home with the doctors because he feels happy when people are treated
he doesn't like when people treat him or others differently so he's such a big advocate for anti discrimination against anyone
he likes helping people that most doctors would ignore and people hate him for that
he's not good at taking compliments so its funny to see him react to the compliments
he loves sweets and he loves when sanji makes them so he's always first in line at sanjis bake sale
he's so cute and small your honor
frankky
mechanic (trade school)
a literal grease monkey
he's always making something in his garage and
he makes custom peices for his friends and even sold some to some of the rich kids
besides that he's really cool about things
he's co chill about everything and help fix things whenever the crew needs it
all in all a cool dude
brook
old ass music head
he's one of the best musicains and he's so casual about it
he's a allumi for the school and he takes students every year to train them and teach them what he knows
he only takes like 5 students a year so the spots are very competative and very hard to get into
hes so chill otherwise
the type of mentor to call you out on your bullshit but still
extra little bonus scene!
the gang goes to Jinbe's resturant every week after all they're classes. Luffy had stumbled upon it one day and he just slowly started to get his friends to go their and that's just become their hangout spot since then. Jinbe pretends to hate when they come over but in all actuality, he loves talking to them and getting to know them as a group and as individuals. he loves their energy and will make sure they eat well and they're getting good grades.

(Don't) Face Your Fears
Yandere Merfolk Straw Hats x GN!Reader
1.8k words
Part 2
Tumblr media
Deep breathes, you remind yourself. Deep breathes.
It was taking everything you had not to turn tail and run, but you stood your ground. You need to face this. You won’t be able to grow if you don’t. Waves crashed onto the shore ahead of you, the noise not allowing you to forget for a second where you were. The salty and fishy scent in the air was also a strong reminder.
You’re not even sure where this fear came from. You can’t recall some traumatic memory revolving around the ocean, you just hated it. The mystery of what hellish creatures lurked beneath the surface, the mere idea of being lost at sea, drowning, it all terrified you.
All your life you’ve done your best to avoid the ocean despite living so close to it, but now you are trying to face it. You didn’t want to spend the rest of your life trapped by your own fears. What if you want to leave this island one day but can’t bring yourself to do so because you’re too scared to get on the boat?
You’ve made some progress, a lot really. Being able to stand on the beach like this was something you couldn’t have done a month ago. Tonight, though, you were going to take this a step forward. You hated doing this at night, but you were too embarrassed about your fear to risk people seeing you potentially freaking out over some water.
Your bare feet dug into the sand as you tried to will yourself to relax and step towards the water. It’s fine. Everything is going to be fine. You’re just going to wade ankle deep in the water and then call it a night. That’s it.
Ignoring the pounding of your heart and the sweat starting to form, you take the necessary steps, bringing yourself onto the wet part of the sand. You cringed at the sensation, not enjoying it even a little bit.
You stood there and waited for the tide to come back in, forcing yourself to stand still. Finally, dreadfully, a wave comes in and laps at your feet. Your first gut response involves dry heaving and wanting to run away, but you endure. It’s barely touched you, you need to tough it out.
Despite every nerve of your body violently disagreeing with this idea of yours, you take another step forward. More water rushes over your feet. It’s cold, but not freezing. It almost feels nice in contrast to the humid summer air.
Now, you decide to wait here and adjust, forcing your breathing to even out again. As the minutes tick by, you find yourself not minding it as much as you initially did. If you closed your eyes, you could almost pretend you were simply soaking your feet in the river by your home. Maybe you’ll be able to enjoy this? Maybe.
Shockingly, you found yourself walking through the water. Not deeper into it, simply staying at the same depth and wading along the shore. The silence was peaceful, and you found that your previously thundering heartbeat was slowing to a more normal rate. Against all odds and expectations, you couldn’t help but smile slightly. This was incredible progress for you, and you were proud of yourself.
The atmosphere changes as you hear something in the distance. Splashing, and a lot of it. It sounded too loud to just be a fish. Was it a person? Was someone drowning? You ran towards the source of the noise. As you got closer, you could hear yelling over all the splashing, too. It sounded like several people. What the hell was happening?
“Hello? Is everyone alright?” You called out, trying to get a feel for what was going on before you got there.
The splashes stopped, but you did get a response, “Hello? Who’s there?” The voice sounded feminine and distressed. Scared even.
You were getting close enough to be able to start to make out the people. There were a lot of them, at least five, but they were moving around too much to be able to count clearly. All of them were caught in a net.
“I’m (y/n). I was going for a walk when I heard you guys, and I wanted to see if you needed help,” which they most certainly did. How did that many people manage to get caught in a fishing net like this?
“We do! Can you cut this net open?” A different voice piped up, this one sounding like a young boy.
You could do that, there was a knife strapped to your belt that you kept there both for functionality and self defense. There was a problem though. They were deeper into the water than you were. If you went out to them, you would be waist deep. Much farther than you were prepared to go so soon.
Your hesitance didn’t go unnoticed. “Please! We need to get out of this! Some of my friends are hurt and we can’t treat them while we’re all stuck like this!” The same voice from before desperately pleaded.
Nausea rumbled deep in your stomach, but not just from the ocean this time. You couldn’t just leave a bunch of people to die because you were scared of a little water. Okay, a lot of water, but you won’t even have to swim. It’s going to be okay. You can do this. You will do this.
Forcing yourself to take deep breaths, you march forward. Miraculously, the rising water doesn’t crumble your resolve. You don’t look down at the water, purposefully focusing on the net ahead of you. You need to get them freed, and you need to do it now before you can have a chance to chicken out.
Unbuckling the holster for your knife, you unsheath it and get to work trying to cut through the thick rope of the fishing net. There was a lot of resistance, but you didn’t give up. The segment you were sawing your knife through snapped and you immediately moved on to the next one, vying to get a big enough opening for them to squeeze through.
There were loud cheers from a few of them as the net came undone enough for them to get out. They wasted no time and all headed for the opening to slip through. You held it open for them, wanting them to get out as quickly as possible.
The first one escapes, and that’s when you feel it. Something large and slimy brushes against your exposed legs. What? That was just a big fish, right? Maybe even an errant piece of seaweed. As the rest of the group filed out, you felt the same sensation on your legs each time.
These… These people were human… Right?
Chills were running down your spine as you questioned what exactly you were dealing with here. Before you could back away or ask questions, one of them approached you. He didn’t just come up to you, no. He full on threw himself out of the water and wrapped his arms around your torso.
“Thank you for saving us! We don’t get a lot of help from humans most of the time, so I’m really happy that one as nice as you came to our rescue!” This was the same boy that had spoken to you moments before to beg for help. He smiled widely at you, and the moonlight reflecting off the water was enough for you to be able to make out his too sharp teeth. As well as the fins on the sides of his head where ears should be.
Oh my God. Merfolk. This is a merman and you’re surrounded by more of them. Every rumor you’ve heard about them comes to mind instantly in one big violent pang. That they love nothing more than to drag any poor unsuspecting human they come across out into the ocean to drown them. That they would eat you after you died. That they could curse humans into becoming like them.
No. No no no nO NO NO!
With a scream, you shove the merman off of you and make a break for the shore. You get there faster than you thought humanly possible and kept running, not looking back. Fuck this. Fuck them. Fuck the ocean. Fuck everything you’re never going near the ocean ever again for as long as you live!
The merfolk could only sit in the shallow water and stare at your rapidly retreating and screaming form.
“I suppose they didn’t know we were merfolk when they helped us,” Robin mused.
“I like them,” Luffy was positively beaming despite being thrown off you seconds before. He’d crawled closer to the shore to watch you leave, his tail loudly splashing in the water behind him.
“Of course you do, you like everyone that looks at you twice,” Zoro scoffed, waving a webbed hand dismissively. He winced when the action strained one of his injuries, causing Chopper to snap at him to hold still.
“No, I really like them! I want to see them again! I bet that if we talk for a bit, they’ll come around,” Luffy nodded resolutely, already imagining what he’s going to say next time he sees you.
“How are you going to do that? I doubt that they’re going to go anywhere near the ocean for a long time,” Nami pointed out.
This gave Luffy pause, but only for a brief moment. His eyes lit up as an idea struck him, “There’s a river that goes through this island, right? I can use that to try and see them again. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they live along it!”
“At least let one of us come with you, you have no tact throwing yourself at them like you did,” Sanji could tell that this would take a certain level of finesse that their captain absolutely did not have. No doubt he would up and drag you into the water with him if you were close enough to do so.
“You’re only saying that because you want to see them again, too,” Zoro splashed water in Sanji’s direction, extinguishing the cigarette he finally had a chance to enjoy. Naturally, this caused a fight between the two to break out, with Sanji slapping Zoro with his tail while Chopper was yelling at both of them to cut it out.
Luffy didn’t pay them any mind. While your form may have vanished from sight, he could still follow your scent. Even if you weren’t right next to the riverbed, he wasn’t opposed to dragging himself across land to get to you. Now that he had your scent, there’s nowhere on this small island you could hide to stay away from him.

May I please have some headcanons of Law with an s/o and Chopper with a friend/crewmate who, part of their devil fruit ability causes them to have increasingly worse fevers when the more they use it. Like how Magellan's Venom-Venom fruit causes him to have IBS because his body can't fully process the poison. I think devil fruit with specific drawbacks like are interesting.
Thank you for your time.
A/N: This is such a great concept and such a great idea you are a GENIUS
Characters: gn reader x Law, Chopper
Cw: reader being sick
Total word count: 500
Fever Pains
Law
The first time he saw your face flushed red, he rushed over to you. It didn’t matter that you were in the middle of battle. When he grabbed your skin, it was warm, and he panicked. He used shambles to get you away from battle, and ran a full scan.
It really beat him up when he thought he missed your symptoms earlier. He didn’t understand how your sickness had progressed so fast, and it scared him to see you so exhausted so suddenly.
After you explained it to him, he calmed down a little bit. You had overworked yourself a lot in that particular battle, which had caused such a super high fever.
Anytime that you overwork yourself like that now, he reprimands you. He scolds you and tells you not to work so hard and to find another way so you don’t kill yourself. But really he's beating himself up over not seeing that you were getting overheated and helping you before it got so bad
He has a bunch of ice packs he has ready for you during and after battle to keep your temperature down. He packs fluids for you to stay hydrated and brings fever reducer medicine.
He hates when he has to leave you, and always has a little kit prepped for you to carry in your bag if you have to separate from him, with an emergency ice pack, electrolyte drink packet, and single use tylenol.
Chopper
Chopper runs checkups on his crew all the time, and is super in tune with your all's well being. So when he sees you staggering on the battlefield, he’s a bit confused. And when he finds you post battle, he takes your temperature and freaks out. Screaming, running around, begging for a doctor to help you.
He instantly covers you in cool cloths, starts an IV to get you fluids. You try to explain to him that it’s normal, but he doesn’t care. “You shouldn’t have to suffer just because of your ability,” he says to you. He’s upset that you didn’t tell him about it, but he’s not angry over it, just a little sad.
He gives you boosters, watches your status, and runs tests to see what specific levels you start to spike in temperature and how it correlates with your ability.
Like Law, he changes up his medkit, and now he always has ice packs (that he took from Sanji until they can restock at the next island), fever reducers, anything he can think of that might help you.
He secretly gives everyone a little emergency pack for you in case you get overheated and he's not there, but whenever the group splits up, Chopper always tries to stay by your side. It’s his job as a doctor to make sure everyone on the crew is happy and healthy, and this is just another challenge he has to solve in his journey.
