It's fair to assume the butcher shop looks substantially different / worse to Amanda than it does to us, yeah?

I mean, just because it's blocky and cartoony to the viewers doesn't mean that's actually how she's experiencing it. She has two visceral, panicky reactions to the idea of being inside it - the obvious one being when she burns down all the buildings in the neighborhood after not being given a choice, but this one occurring much earlier in the game. And she looks like she's going to throw up:

Since it's pretty much canon the missing children are trapped in the meat hanging on the hooks, it seems like a non-zero chance that what Amanda / Rebecca is actually seeing are just straight-up children's remains strung up around the shop.

The meat ending is admittedly pretty cheesy but this is honestly one of the worst implications of the game?? Because whatever we're imagining Rebecca has gone through, Rebecca has certainly gone through worse.
