There’s this pretty big disparity I’ve noticed between how nolan (omniman) is interpreted in mainstream stuff vs his like actual character in both show/comic

Fanon nolan interpretation:

-doesn’t feel remorse or empathy

-oh he’s soooo cool he’s so swag and smooth talking

-genuinely doesn’t care for his son esp not his wife

-never cared for the guardians

-you don’t get it he’s actually right guys!! Genocide good!

-this also ties in with just reducing mark to the “guy who gets beat up nonstop” and debbie to “the pet”

-they definitely think this version of nolan abides by human bigotry shit like sexism

Canon nolan (according to show and comic):

-oblivious to A LOT of social cues and overall very socially inept (very blunt and dry tone of voice so he always sounds kinda mad even if he isn’t)

-actually cares about his family and friends but has trouble expressing it verbally, more show than tell

-cared ab the guardians and they were his friends but he repressed the hell out of what he did bc of guilt (and he’s dumb)

-says things like “curses” and “moon it up”

-monologues a bunch like holy shit

-very physically affectionate with the people he’s v close too (he also smiles guys!)

-makes jokes without trying (kinda hard to catch bc of the deadpan tone at times)

-would realistically be confused by earth’s own forms of bigotry and shit

-bookworm and wrote and documented things even before becoming a writer on earth!

-feels extreme remorse and guilt for his past actions but again has trouble showing it

I come bringing two Dungeon Meshi marchil fanfics to share

Enough

He got crumbs of it in moments, here and there, and it would be more than enough to last the winter. Chil knew how to live on little, with only what he could afford. But love? Love he had had enough of for a lifetime.

I'll start with the shorter one that I wrote first, a quick Chilchuck POV 1.3k words oneshot that's bittersweet if not just plainly sad. It’s about repressing a crush essentially, but the marchil is mostly a front for a character study about Chilchuck’s complex feelings on his marital situation and love in general. I’ve been told many times in comments that even without shipping marchil it was enjoyable, so give it a shot if that sounds interesting!

Even years after their journey into the dungeon, Marcille wasn’t quite over her existential dread over short lifespans… And it showed. Every other day, she came by to Chilchuck’s locksmith shop with a shocking lack of locks to smith.

Coffeeshop au except it’s not an au and there’s no coffeeshop. This one is a long oneshot of 17k words, and contains flashbacks that are meant to loosely span over a year. This fic can pretty much be entirely read as platonic. They’re just close friends but they give married energy is all. Slice of life and cozy with a side of banter & tsundere behavior, and existential dread hurt/comfort as the cherry on the sundae. It contains some classic Dungeon Meshi things like storytelling through cooking and sharing meals~ If you like the Marcille and Chilchuck dynamic in canon, this is pretty much just a bunch of that, shenanigans abound!

With how chil is so irritable and private about romance and his feelings it makes sense that their romance would have passive-agressive energy. Are they just friends or pining? Oh wouldn’t you like to know. Are they just lightheartedly bantering or is he legitimately pissed or are they blinking in morse code their true feelings at each other? Yes

My post-canon timeline is Chilchuck lives a nice life living alone in his house-shop except his friends all visit him and care, and even though he likes living alone it’s also bittersweet and every corner of his life is haunted by the ones he loves and loved and the moments he had with them. That’s it that’s all I want… (mostly the nice life part lol)

My marchil manifesto is that she grows on him stubbornly like fungal yeast and it brings out his flavor like beer <3 Because she stubbornly puts her nose everywhere and refuses to give up on getting closer to her friends and it makes him open up and repress his feelings less and aaaa <33 Obligatory shout out to the dunmeshi discord serv for engaging with my rambles

For someone who dislikes alcohol I’m having so much fun working beer metaphors and stuff into the writing, Chilchuck has all the fun motifs to play with fr... Traps, lockpicking, married life, work, destitution, starvation, rejection, repression, opening urself up to the world. Give me the most domestic fluff and give it a subtle foundation of angst and hurt comfort 👌

And I do think that Marcille takes a particular interest in Chilchuck especially because he’s so set on being a closed book as well. Yeah she def is like 👀 at him. Aaah the way she wants to meet his family so bad 😭💕 I think she romanticizes him & his family life/idealizes him as a virtuous husband a lot too. Like how she tends to think of things in a more flowery story-like way.

I do compare him to bread and her to soup in that he soaks up in her warm vibes and softens up. Which has become a personal favorite. He was bread, she was soup, can I make it any more obvious /lyr Soggy bread Chilchuck is so funny to me. Like, you know that rock solid bread but then you soak it in soup and then it just becomes the softest crumbliest thing. I think Chilchuck is a really hard bread that will break your teeth if you don’t put him in some soup beforehand. Or wine. I wracked my brain a lot about what food Chil would like (because his Adventurer’s Bible profile just says he love alcohol and hates sweet dishes rip) and I end up giving him a bread motif a lot, since it pairs well with alcohol and whatnot.

With marchil I either do unrequited angst because Chilchuck will NOT allow himself to feel, or the most domestic fluffy shit ever but in a mostly platonic dimension because once again -gestures at Chilchuck- But in a true Marcille "If I was Chilchuck’s wife" Donato fashion she manages to get her nose into the most stubborn’s people stuff like a barnacle and it’s. So married people coded anyways. They’re a lil messed up but it’s ok they’ll iron out those bumps. Ironing because they are gonna do the most domestic chores together 🔥🔥 MARRIEDCORE I TELL YOU I should get around to making more fics and more different vibes though, I already have a bunch of prompts written down~

I hc that when he gets his shop all his living quarters are half-foot sized so whenever the party comes to visit they suffer sitting down at the dinner table and whatnot

There’s a very specific horror in not being able to grow old with your loved one… It’s gotta be rough being in a relationship where you don’t mature at the same speed/rate. It must be so heartbreaking to turn around and your lover suddenly looks 70 while you’re still like 26 Chilchuck living until he lives with either Meijack or Flertom or at the castle and spends his days grumbling about people being even more incompetent than they used to be real. He can live longer than 50 🙏 come on peepaw you can make it to 70. He’s got so many friends ready to nurse him, prob while he complains about it. This is why I find elderly half-foots a funny mental picture. For a while I wondered if half-foots aged visually much at all in the traditional sense, and then I remembered these.

In my post-canon headcanons I’ve adopted the idea that Marcille doesn’t do her hair, it’s always someone else making her hairdos like an attendant or Kabru and like maybe Falin learns. In the "it takes a village to raise someone" community mutual aid energy… And the rare times where the task befalls Chilchuck he learns how to put it in a single braid (even if it’s so much hair for him to hold in his small hands all at once rip) because the one time he braided it in two in canon it reminded him of Meijack and gave him psychic damage. WHICH. Ohhh my god you have no idea how much I care about Chilchuck’s daughters now. After writing the first half of Grind Me Down Sweetly I am forever changed I know them all by name and know everything there is to know about them, I am making so many headcanons every day… Meijack wears thigh-high boots because she hates when sand, dirt or snow gets in her shoes- I have fanart coming up of them over at @fuumiku and I’d love making fics centered around them as well eventually yippee The angst of old senile Chilchuck still tying marcille's hair... Old senile chilchuck confusing marcille for one of his daughters… "Have you gotten taller? Oh how much you’ve grown" -breaking his neck looking up at her- I want Chilchuck to get the top notch elder treatment.

Ok this is the alcoholism tangent. I really want to believe Chilchuck can be super old, but… Realistically he’s gonna drink himself to an early grave, he’s a work hard play hard kinda guy.

Marcille would be horrified if she knew the extent of it fr fr, but I do think it’d drive a wedge between them if she tried getting him to lay off of it… If he’s open to it though that’d be so nice and sweet. Hey hey btw did you know, Chilchuck is canonically underweight due to extremely strict dieting and alcohol can act as a good hunger suppressant! Lots of issues to dig into here It’d be cute if his daughters visit him often and collectively keep tabs on him in a caring way. It’s less cute actually beinh the daughter and having to deal with it but- CHILCHUCK IS WORTH IT okay!!! Where’s that meme of "You can fix him? So is 5 other people y’all look like a construction crew" bc this increasingly looks like ‘Marcille Senshi Laios Izutsumi and his family make sure he doesn’t poison himself like a dog with chocolate’ mission.

Truly for some people reason just flies out the window when it comes to alcohol, coherence gives way to excuses. He reminds of someone I know who got a grave disease that’s worsened by alcohol and just. Continues to take it regularly. You know that thing that’s said where "an alcoholic parent will have 2 kids, one will grow to be alcoholic too while the other will never touch a drop of alcohol" and Chilchuck is def the first I think. He gives the vibe that he’d say "An alcoholic parent puts a strain on familial relationships?? Pshh, my father was and look at me! I turned out great!". I don’t think Chil could really get shaken out of it at this point tbh, seems very ingrained in him, would prob fight it back. I relate with my own familial situation ughh. Maybe if he realized how it hurt the people around him and not only himself though…. I’d def like to see him ease up on it. Drinking is often a social activity though. That gives me hope, especially with the whole dunmeshi lesson of sharing meals, that he might be able to/have recontextualized how or when he likes to take alcohol, that alcohol is better when you have others with you and you’re still able to talk and whatnot. Chilchuck says that he’s pretty picky with alcohol tho, like he has specific tastes or a high bar. Laios can ban good beer in the kingdom and then Chilchuck just stops because it all tastes awful and he’s not rich enough to import. The brewery he likes mysteriously burns down in a fireball incident one night. Marcille risks prison for her loved ones part 2, now with diplomatic immunity! ✨

I have hcs about Chil’s family dynamic, about his daughters and how alcoholism or workaholism may have affected everyone (not me inferring that Puckpatti being the most idealistic and optimistic from Chil’s daughters is probably a result from her being the youngest and perhaps Chil being the most often at work during that time and so she was mostly raised by her mother without much involvement from him). That’s a topic for another day though, for now I leave you all with thoughts of Flertom painting flowers on a shitty ceramic mug when she was 3 and Chil begrudgingly asking Marcille advice on picking a birthday gift for Puckpatti :) Oh yeah, because if we look at the timeline in The Adventurer’s Bible and combine it with when Chilchuck said that "Due to certain circumstances he hasn’t seen his wife or daughters in years" in the Senshi backstory chapter, besides letters with Flertom he has seemingly not seen them in 4 years. 4 YEARS. Thank god dungeons disappeared, it took that much for him to retire

lark summoned the doodler as a teenager because he was angry at henry and needed to release that anger by fighting an eldritch god and for years. for YEARS! sparrow suffered under the pressure of being the mediator because henry forgave lark and was so insistent on forgiving him. and then sparrow chooses to switch doomed worlds (because if it was unfair to faerun, does that mean it was fair to earth? did earth deserve this in ways faerun wouldn’t? the only difference is that earth has sparrows family and faerun does not) because he loves his parents and brother and kids so much he would rather destroy his relationship with them to save their lives than watch them die for a mistake he blames himself for, not normal. and they would’ve died. if sparrow had gone to help henry and normal they would’ve been overrun like every other room in that building and they wouldve all died and nothing would’ve ever stopped the doodler. sparrow chooses love. but not the kind of love that henry wanted from him. and i love mercedes but i will never forgive her for what she said to sparrow because it really really shows that hencedes wanted sparrow to be the good twin so badly. they could forgive lark for making drastic mistakes because that’s just who lark is now, whether it be from the rogue card or something else. code purple is something they would’ve expected from him. but instead they’ve held sparrow to such high standards when this is all he knows, this is him being his best self, first and foremost he is larks equal and that hasn’t changed

Thinking about an AU featuring Incubus Steve who feeds off the sexual pleasure of others (he doesn't technically have to be the source of said pleasure, just nearby, but the meal is more filling and satisfying if he's the one causing it)

and idk how it would come up/how they'd find out but somehow people in the know about upside down stuff are also in the know about Steve and eventually that includes Billy

and Billy notices that Steve isn't doing well after the events of s2 and eventually confronts him about it

and it turns out that Steve has been having a hard time keeping himself fed since his break up with Nancy because maybe she said some stuff to him in the bathroom scene that is making him feel like, idk guilty or whatever for feeding on people that dont know what he is/what he's doing

and Billy tries to convince him that that's bullshit, because its not like Steve's making anyone sleep with him and its not like anyone gets hurt by being fed on by him but Steve's just can't really get out of this negative headspace about it.

So Billy basically says Steve can feed on him, and since he knows what Steve is and is agreeing to all that it should be fine.

But Billy thinks that this is all just a survival need thing for Steve, so he winds up trying to "but no homo" the situation bc he's scared.

And Steve believes Billy's just trying to keep him from starving and that no way he actually is interested in anything more than that with him.

So for a while its just this stupid mutual pining situation where they have regular sessions where Billy gets himself off near Steve and they both want more from each other but think this is all that the other one wants and dont want to risk scaring each other off by asking for any more.

Steve has never been so simultaneously well fed and sexually/romantically frustrated in his life. Its a very confusing combo for him.

also idk what other powers incubus are associated with but itd be cool if he had some fun abilities and/or monster features

i think i had an epiphany about pokemon black and white.

i think it was released about 5 or 6 years too early. what do i mean by that? BW came out in 2010, around a decade ago, and im going to assume it probably started full development not that long after HGSS finished up development, which would have been somewhere in 2009.

2009 was definitely a complex time, especially in Japan, but it was a *very different* time to now.

See, I think team plasma would have had a much more smooth narrative if they had incorporated the idea of *misappropriating progressive language*, and otherwise misusing certain terminology to the point of rendering it completely meaningless in its prior context.

we know the language bigots use to talk about minority groups nowadays, right? how there's pieces of language that used to serve a *very specific purpose* to refer to a *very specific kind of act* (such as grooming, a term which is now just thrown at the LGBT community whenever a bigot feels they need to drum up hate) which have now been sandblasted down into just another sneer to spit at people they hate?

and how by doing this they've tainted the usefulness *of those terms* to the point where it's genuinely impacting people's ability to report on certain things?

this was not as close of a topical issue in 2010 as it is today, where language is increasingly being weaponized due to the availability and reliance on social media our society has increasingly found itself with. this is why i think in a better world, pokemon bw would have come out in 2015, maybe even *later*, when this shit not only really began to develop into the cancerous issue it is now, but also when people began to actively speak out about it in a way that was wide-reaching.

think about a reframing here. at its core, team plasma is a pokemon welfare organization being used as a front as an elaborate way to dismantle any potential threats ghetsis might have to succeeding in a coup. ideally, this means trainers are pressured into releasing their pokemon and the ones who aren't have theirs *taken by force*, causing immense trauma to both pokemon *and* person, thereby necessarily weakening them in the process.

so, lets approach it as it might be done today. the first thing you do is you start widening the meaning of *abuse* and applying it in situations where it absolutely isn't the case, just to *force* people to legitimize a conversation that, say, owning a house pet might qualify as pokemon abuse.

you muddy the meaning of abuse until you have caused schisms in local culture. you rely on what examples of abuse you can find--neglect, power-hungry trainers who do view their pokemon mostly as instruments to increment ever-higher in ranking, but you do not turn you ire, *specifically*, on them. you turn that blame on your real targets: everyone else.

and all the while, what *abuse* or *neglect* or *mistreatment* even means when it comes to pokemon is muddled. people start reporting people for what they perceive *as* abuse even when it's not, and wasting the time of the organizations designed to look after this kind of thing, while also making anyone who reported things and got a "this wasnt abuse" feel validated that, yes, *everyone is in on it*.

with of course the occasional group of aggro anti-trainers reporting in such large numbers that the legal bodies involved have to investigate and maybe even separate pokemon and human because, well--look at all of these reports. there might be something going on.

and this snowballs. those who dont immediately bend to the pressure are targeted. they get picketed, they get people screaming at them. they have their organization decried as "abuse enablers" and with the way social media flattens nuance and these people already making sure to leave out all of the important details, many of these figures become hated by people who have been caught up in a cultural hate furor towards someone who has really been the one looking after these issues. people who are good, but are now demonized by a very vocal and aggressive group.

and then, you twist the knife, because with the eradication of all meaning to terms like *abuse*, you also make it a lot easier for abusive trainers to get away with what they're doing so long as they just pay the correct kind of lip service. just look at ghetsis: he has a hydreigon that genuinely seems to fucking hate him, judging by its frustration. abuse doesnt actually *get reduced*, because the words have been muddled so much the kind of clues and hints that might help a pokemon abuser get caught and put away are lost in the endless froth of vitriol.

abusers dont get hurt by this so long as they know how to phrase it.

and when you add in that the people who would actually be handling cases of abuse and mistreatment being either demonized, bent to the will of an angry mob, or too terrified to speak out, real abuse goes untouched.

people, *figureheads* of the movement, become untouchable because they crusade for the campaign with the right combination of words that *surely* they're not using this as a smoke screen to cover for their own goals.

this, this right here? i think people have always been aware of how language can be shaped like this, but genuinely the last 5 to 8 years have been the absolute worst of it, and most obviously criticized. if BW came out during this period, and used this as a touchstone rather than the absolute stance it does, it could have been a much more nuanced and compelling narrative.

the point is, though, Pokemon BW could have come out in the late 2010s and probably had a much stronger real-life example to build on and work with. The conversations we are having today are eminently relatable to Team Plasma's goal, it's just *too early* to have that connection.

It also would have permitted some nuance within the narrative. As it stands right now, the Pokemon universe simply rejects the idea that mistreatment of Pokemon is a realistic idea in the first place. Even among some of the darkest, and arguably the most likely teams to abuse their Pokemon (Galactic and Rocket) mainly view their Pokemon as integral sources of power that they must nourish and improve for their own benefit. It's not a purely benevolent reason, no, but Cyrus has a Crowbat (only evolves with high friendship) and while some of it is anime apocrypha, virtually *nothing* implies that Giovanni mistreated his Pokemon, and that Team Rocket mainly mistreated Pokemon via stealing them in the first place or by attempting get rich quick schemes (slowpoke tails).

In other words, the only group that has been shown to actively and aggressively *abuse pokemon* is team plasma itself, where in one of their first appearances two grunts, claiming to want to protect Pokemon, repeatedly kick a fucking Munna not ten feet away from you.

These would be the leaders, the problems, the actual criminals stringing the others along who have been caught up in the momentum of finally having someone to just *hate*.

This would let the story also progress as you work your way up from the grunts (who may fall anywhere on the scale between shitheel or ideological warrior consumed by the movement) to the admins (who are all eerily powerful, well-connected, and giving away hints that their Pokemon are mistreated, its just that they have the language and reputation to avoid scrutiny) and finally to Ghetsis, who is the embodiment of these leaders in the worst way possible. Part of the story, then, would be figuring out where N falls, if what he's saying is just lip service or the truth, and it would make his struggle to reconcile the world Ghetsis has painted for him (one of casual Pokemon cruelty and Pokemon forced into subservient roles to do as humans wish) against the one he faces (one where Pokemon and humans work together--not always perfectly, but with a lot of care) and the slowly dawning realization that everything he's been told is a projection of how Ghetsis and his admins actually feel about Pokemon a lot more meaningful.

You could even include hints. Admins putting their Pokemon away whenever N is around, almost in a panic because if N got a single chance to speak to any of their Pokemon, the entire plot would go up in smoke.

N not knowing about certain operations or being intentionally redirected to you to keep him occupied as Ghetsis and his admins are finally allowed to throw their weight around.

By making it much more reflective of trends we know about today, you could get a fair bit more intense narrative about deceit and the real fucked up consequences of this kind of thing.

Hmm. I’ve rambled about it on multiple occasions but I’ll take the opportunity to throw my two cents into a storm drain and tell y’all about The Thing Somewhat Obsessively Ping-ponging Around In My Brain it goes as follows;

I really do think there’s potential in making a story with Phoenix that’s kind of just… identity porn. That feels like a crude term but it isn’t it is A Thing.

What I mean is. What I mean is.

…Phoenix. Agent Phoenix. The Phoenix. The Agent. They are never referred to as anything but these titles (and a variety of insults, of course, as well as other non-names). Hell, we only learn the Handler’s name in the third game - and one could draw the conclusion that the Agent didn’t even know it before they were told it! (Of course, one could also choose to believe the Agent was told this offscreen, already knew, something. We as the player sure didn’t, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t, necessarily.)

I’ve always been at least a little interested in exploring the consequences of a Nameless Agent as we see in Phoenix! Like, you know. Day to day, are they a normal person? Someone who makes breakfast and buys clothes and wears mismatched socks because they lost half the pair somewhere? The Agent certainly doesn’t seem like that kind of person. The Agent is a secret agent who stops evil schemes from a megacorporation who want to take over the world or something. Phoenix is a whole other layer! Phoenix has connotations that “the agent” doesn’t have. Phoenix is special, known, infamous, talented, unkillable though not untouchable.

Who are they when they aren’t “the agent” or “agent Phoenix”? Are they anyone? Do they have a life outside of the Agency, or is the Agency their life? Do they still have a name? Does the Agency provide everything about their life? A fake identity, lodgings, paychecks, clothes, missions. Is it just mission after mission for them?

Do they have an identity, as a person? Do they have a name? Are they “Charlie” (to pick a random name) outside of work, the funny fella who sits in the corner of a coffee shop? Does “Charlie” have friends, people who know them, people who recognise them? Who were they? Who are they? Do their identities conflict? Are their identities real?

We don’t really know what kind of person Phoenix is. Yes, we know what they could - would - do, because that’s what we as the player are allowed to do. If we, say, eat screws, it’s probably because that’s the sort of thing Phoenix might have done! Set fire to everything? That’s an actual character trait of theirs. They Do That. I like to assume absolutely anything we do in the game, we can do because it’s a course of action Phoenix could/would have taken.

What does that tell us about them? Not much.

I wonder what they’re like when they’re not just the agent. I wonder who they were before they were the agent. How do you think they refer to themself, in their head? Did they lose their old identity? Forget it? Is “Agent Phoenix” the alter ego or is it the other way around?

You know? I find it fascinating. Intriguing.

It's really interesting how Iyozane really wants to be important again, but this time with power. Usually characters like them who suffered because they were the heir to their kingdom never wanted power in the first place, and just want to live a simple life. This is why there are misconceptions that Fujiwara no "Joined up with Fumikado's rebellion and landed themself a powerful position that doesn't even exist in the Government they are trying to overthrow" Iyozane wanting to live a simple life. But that is not Iyozane.

Iyozane grew up being treated like the most important person in the world, and I think on some level, they miss it. What they don't miss is not having any actual power or control over their life. Their profile explicitly states they want to become an influential person (even if they don't know what they would do with that influence).

Just so yall know- this all stemmed from me simping over Finnick again after binge watching all of the HG movies today

Scarian Hunger Games AU!

So! In how the books/movies go, Grian would be Katniss in this scenario, living in District 12. The Mockingjay, symbol of the rebellion against the capital in this Hunger Games universe.

He'd be the one to go instead of Pearl (his sister who was chosen but Grian volunteered in her steed), the other pick will be Big B. Going along with the first book/movie: they play up being "Star crossed lovers" like Peeta, Big B is actually in love with Grian.. by the end of it when they are the two alive they stage that suicide deal with the berries until the announcers like "Congratulations, our winners of the 74th Hunger games!" yada yada- causes the uprising

So moving onto the 2nd book/movie, 75th annual HGs- the president(who i think I might make Evil Xisuma) makes it so past winners are the ones who go into this one (cuz ykno gotta kill Grian, the person who made the districts rebel again) Grian and Big B would’ve been the 2nd and 3rd only winners of District 12 (idk who I wanna be the first winner) MEANING they're both going to be forced into the 75th HG (cuz big b would refuse to let the first winner go) now this is where it will get into my own little idea of how it'll go cuz this is where Scar comes into play! He's a past winner, from 10yrs ago! (What me making him to be like Finnick?? who would've thunk it!!)

Grian and Scar see each other for the first time in the starting ceremony thingy where each victor rides the chariots down the thingy for all of the ppl to see and the president welcoming them or w/e.. Scar would be wearing the same thing finnick was in the film (as seen here) So ykno, imagine that as Scar, scars and scitties galore, waltzing up to Grian. ofc Grian is like wow- this man is attractive.

Scar is apart of the rebellion, so is the new games master (who rigged this whole HG like in the book/movie)(who i have no idea who to make that as yet, could be Bdubs, i think thatd be funny) and it's Scar's job to keep Grian alive (BigB helps cuz he is in on it as well) and befriend him, become allies-- Mumbo is gonna be there too (he'd be like Beetee from the book/movies) and also befriend them inside the arena uwu ANYWAYS While getting to know one another the whole week before the games start, training and all that jazz.. Grian starts falling for Scar and same goes for Scar to Grian! So when they get into the games their love blossoms further but ofc they cant show it cuz the world thinks Big B and Grian are together!! DRAMA!! (ofc bigB doesnt care, he's over Grian) anyways yeah itd be tense and stuff until they escape the arena, Grian barely making it out alive

basically, they get to District 13, the rebellion is in full swing lol Grian the face of it as "the mockingjay"

i think i'll make Tango be like who Johanna is in HG.. I think he'd fit her fiery angry self lol

some Scar angst (like finnicks wowie so original) Victors, who are seen as desirable, are sold off to people after winning.. Those people can do whatever they please to that Victor they bought time with. So you can imagine what he has been through. He uses that after awhile though, to gain information about a lot of things. and is a big asset to the rebellion cuz of it.

also also Scar would be around 30ish in this and Grian 20 (this is my au the ages are different *rattles the bars of my cage*)

ive been thinking as ive been watching martyns pov of evo smp and ... 3/4 of the players who have won a life series (grian in 3rd life, pearl in double life, and now martyn in limited life) were on evo smp. the only exception to this being scott in last life

ik this is just coincidence, since many of the players have confirmed multiplies times that the events are not scripted and theyve only ever reversed one death but ... with there only being 5 past members of evo in the life smp, im hoping this coincidence continues and we get bigb or jimmy win, if theres a 5th life season ofc

i so want to see jimmy not only break the canary curse, but also then win a season. a big old "fuck you" to the watchers

“Sooo... Umm, you look rather nervous-- but that’s alright! You know, I’m not...judgemental or anything! And I already know you and like you very much, so it’s not likely that we’ll make this weird! I mean, I suppose I’m making it weird by talking about how we’re not going to make it weird-- But this doesn’t have to be different from the times Jace and I visited your home! You’re just getting to know each other a little better! And-- you know, I actually really love hugs! I don’t think I’ve hugged you before, but I supposed if we’re ever gonna hug, now might be the time to do it!”

Hailey may be rambling and sharing her thoughts so openly -- but she was quite nervous herself. She may even be blushing a little. But she knew not to think about it too hard because then it might get truly uncomfortable. So, she flopped onto the bed in one movement, making the wood creak. Only then, did she realise how uncomfortable this dress is. How was she supposed to fall asleep in these clothes? Why was Ben still standing awkwardly? She willed him to lie down. Maybe if she thought about it really hard he was going to at least sit down.

“So, what’s your favourite bird?” she asked him, needing to prompt conversation. Her skin practically itched with it. “Have you ever been hunting???? Is it scary to kill animals????? I think horses are very cute, but I’ve never ridden a horse. It’s kinda mean how we make them carry us everywhere! Imagine if you had to carry me everywhere! Of course, I would never ask you to do that— but it would be fun if you tried to carry me and I tried to carry you! I don’t think I would be able to! I’m not strong enough for that, but you seem strong enough to carry me! It must be weird for you to be carried, though, because it’s always men carrying women, but never women carrying men. Oh, by the way!!! Jace told me you're attending Yale??? What’s it like at university?! I’m not very smart or good at learning things like that, but it seems really interesting!!! Do you have friends there? Do you have study groups???? What is your favourite class? Oh, and your favourite teacher!! I think it’s very telling when you have a favourite teacher because it shows what you value the most! I think, if i had a favourite teacher— I mean, it was only my mother who schooled me, but if there were many teachers and I had one favourite teacher, it would be someone who’s kind and excited to teach!! And it would have to be a fun subject! My brother told me how he studied economics once, and that just seems so boring! I’m glad I’m not in charge of anyone’s finances! It must be really hard for Jace to carry the household on his shoulders after Mother died. But I’ll tell you a secret — my mother was really good at governing a household! Even better than my brother! Like, A MILLION TIMES BETTER! It’s kind of terrifying— the prospect that I would have to exist without him one day. I’m actually afraid that he would be very lonely when I leave. I hope he isn’t lonely.”

Jace was probably not lonely right now, and he would likely not be lonely in the army. She pictured him building friendships with all the other redcoats. He was really good at making friends. Gah, she missed him already! Was she about to cry? She tried not to think about him being in the army. Her vision blurred with tears anyway, so she rubbed her eyes. She was not going to make this awkward for Ben.
