According to Audible and Amazon, Richard will voice a character called Devereaux in the upcoming Tomb Raider Anime from Netflix.

Tomb Raider Chronicles has come forward with more information about the series.

The Tomb Raider Anime series is written by Tasha Huo and set after Shadow of the Tomb Raider, developed by Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. The show is being produced by Netflix, Legendary, Tasha Huo and Dmitri M. Johnson's dj2 Entertainment. Actress Hayley Atwell will voice British archaeologist Lara Croft with Earl Baylon and Allen Maldonado onboard as Jonah Maiava and Zip.

According to sources of The Hollywood Reporter there’s two new TOMB RAIDER projects by Amazon. One being live-action Tomb Raider tv series with Phoebe Waller-Bridge as a writer and exec producer. And the other project being a movie. Sources also indicates that Amazon want it to be MCU-like universe, meaning being connected with each other, including NETFLIX anime series and new game of the main series that is officially in development.

"Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the retail giant and streamer has teamed with Dmitri M. Johnson’s dj2 Entertainment for a massive rights deal to make a Tomb Raider feature film, in addition to the newly announced TV series from Phoebe Waller-Bridge and at least one video game in the Lara Croft franchise.

The idea is to build out a connected world of Tomb Raider, with the video game, TV series and film all interconnected in a fashion akin to what Marvel has already accomplished. The Tomb Raider video game was announced in December, with additional games in the franchise considered likely.

One source with knowledge of the pact described it as being among the largest commitments at Amazon after Lord of the Rings."

As exciting as it is we want to remind to take those news with a pinch of salt, because no official statements were made by CRYSTAL DYNAMICS or Embracer Group (who’s holding rights to franchise).

Dredge Live-Action Feature Film Announced

In March 2023, Dredge became one of the most talked-about games of the year thanks to its combination of engaging fishing mechanics, an enthralling atmosphere, and a fun story involving sinister secrets buried at sea. Ahead of the BAFTA Awards on Thursday, at which Dredge is nominated for four awards, developer Black Salt Games has announced a collaboration with production company Story Kitchen to adapt the critically acclaimed title into a live-action feature film.

In the game, players explore a mysterious archipelago as a fishing boat captain. However, the longer you play, the more unsettling the water surrounding the collection of remote islands becomes. The press release pitches the Dredge live-action film, saying, “Think The Sixth Sense on the water. A grounded atmospheric cosmic horror blend of HP Lovecraft and Ernest Hemingway.”

“We are excited to partner with such an experienced studio team to bring the world we created to live action and ignite the imagination of audiences across the globe,” a joint statement from the Black Salt Games team said in that same press release.

Story Kitchen was founded in 2022 by Sonic the Hedgehog 2 producer Dmitri M. Johnson, former APA Agent Mike Goldberg, and their production and development executives Timothy I. Stevenson and Dan Jevons. “Dredge is a captivatingly eerie and profoundly rich story that had us completely hooked from the very beginning,” a joint statement from Story Kitchen said in the press release.

Dredge currently has an 80 out of 100 rating on the reviews aggregate website Metacritic. If you missed it, it is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Vampire Survivors To Become An Animated TV Series

The viral gaming sensation Vampire Survivors is in the works for television. Story Kitchen is partnering with the game’s developer, poncle founder Luca Galante, to adapt the comedic gothic horror video game into a premium, animated television series. In the game described as Vox Machina meets Castlevania, players control an automatically attacking character while fighting against continuous waves of monsters, with the goal being to survive the onslaught for as long as possible. The game is set in 2021 in rural Italy. “There lived an evil person named Bisconte Draculó, whose many evil magics created a bad world filled with famine and suffering. It’s now up to the members of the Belpaese Family to end his reign of terror and return good food to the table,” “There’s no place to hide -all you can do is try to survive a cursed night and get as much gold as possible for the next survivor- before Death inevitably puts an end to your struggles. Mow down thousands of night creatures and survive until dawn! This is a gothic horror action game, where your choices can allow you to quickly snowball against the hundreds of monsters thrown at you.” A search is underway for a writer. The project will be shopped to animated TV network buyers. Vampire Survivors was the winner of the Best Game and Best Game Design awards at the BAFTA Game Awards earlier this month. The game is Steam’s highest-rated video game of 2022, and also named Best Game from Ars Technica, GamesIndustry.biz, D.I.C.E., the New York Game Awards and the Golden Joystick Awards. The game also has received multiple nominations from the Game Developer’s Choice Awards, the Game Awards and The Steam Awards.    “The most important thing in Vampire Survivors is the story, so it’s a dream come true to see what started as a little indie game I made on my weekends come to life as an animated TV show!,” says poncle founder Galante. “It’s also great to be partnering up with such experienced and talented people to make the show. Legendary Entertainment is developing a TV series set in L. Frank Baum’s Oz. Ed Ricourt is writing and producing the series, which will focus on characters and stories that have not been previously explored. Dmitri M. did more digging into that article everyone has been talking about, and its very much clickbait. the actual meat of the article is that dj2, a production company (they made the sonic the hedgehog movies lmao), has now partnered with amazon, getting exclusive rights to put things dj2 produces on the amazon prime streaming service:

as far as i’m aware, disco elysium is not specifically mentioned by anyone in the actual announcement of that fact.

the articles bring it up only bc in 2020, not long after disco elysium came out and received a lot of awards, zaum was in talks with dj2 about making a tv adaptation. 2 years ago. at that time it was VERY early development, no hires had been made or any real plans, and afaik there hasnt been any updates on that since. presumably the pandemic happened and even the idea was shelved, but thats an assumption.

its being brought up now bc extrapolating from the fact there Was something in the works that could now Theoretically be hosted on amazon if it was made gives the news site some Known Properties to slap onto an article, which is more interesting/eye-catching to people then “company makes agreement with other company to host things they make in the future”. ZAUM’s possible plan for a TV show was with dj2 a long time ago, not amazon, and they presumably had no say in dj2′s partnership decisions here. while i have personal misgivings about how well a show would work as well as the possibility of Anything good coming out of the current television industry around adaptations of things, ZAUM didnt purposefully work with amazon which would have been genuinely evil. imo
