a little life by hanya yanagihara - never ever read this book i will never recommend it to anyone and honestly if you can escape with your life intact and never read this book do that because fucking hell this book ruined my life in so many ways but it's also one of the most profoundly moving novels i've ever read i know there are issues that can be discussed to hell and back but none of that will change the heartbreakingly raw feeling i had in my chest reading this book and how much i love it even though it fucking killed me

hello mae! I’m sorry I was a lil mia for a second 🥴

these past few weeks have been nice, a few little bumps every now and then but overall good although i will admit the past few days I’ve been feeling a little sick and ngl it got me and my parents worried so I’m gonna get some blood tests taken during the weekend just to check that everything’s alright and verify that i just probably need some vitamins 🤞🏻🤞🏻

i also went on a walk with my sister the other day and omg i sooo needed that, it even rained a little bit and it was nice, she showed me this street where there’s a whole ass tree in the middle of it like right in the middle (say what now), she found it a couple of months ago on one of her morning walks and has told me about it but i only saw it a couple of days ago and we took some pictures posing in front of it cause this thing was also mASSIVE, not the biggest tree I’ve seen but one of definitely :0

i started korean classes again after two months ish and it’s actually very nice, it helps me keep practicing and studying even if im feeling lazy cause like that was the thing, i could totally study on my own but i just couldn’t (like some people nEED to get a gym membership otherwise they don’t workout, well i need my teacher assigning homework otherwise i won’t do it) ㅠㅠ

i also started journaling a little bit again and it helps a lot so im happy about that ^^

and lastly I’ve been listening to a lot of lana del rey (specifically her nfr album I LOVE ITT 😩😩) and donna missal (her new album “revel” 🤎🤌🏻)

Authors Note: I loveeee On The Radio by the queen of disco, Donna Summers. It’s one of my favorites from her  I also love Hot Stuff and Last Dance gahhhh I love her music. Maybe I’ll write fics based on those two songs too lmfao.

You had a long day of work, and you desperately wanted to get home. You bet everyone was thinking the same thing as you are stuck grid locked on the road, stuck in traffic.

You were bored out of your mind. You had the radio going to entertain yourself as you passed the time.

“...That was Piano Man by Billy Joel. Gosh it’s such a good song. Now I have something to share with you all” The radio host says to their listeners.

Intrigued, you turn up the volume.

“Now, I was at the bar last night, you know hanging out with friends and having a good time. I found this letter on the floor at the bar. Now you’re all probably wondering...did I read it? Yes, I did. I’m not sure if the person who wrote this dropped it, or if the person this letter addressed it has seen it. I know this letter is none of my business, but something told me to share this letter with you all. I have a feeling it resonate with someone”

Now this was juicy! Your car slowly rolled down the road as the radio began to read the letter.

“This letter is addressed to..” The radio host says your name. Huh, what a coincidence.

“I don’t know where to begin...There were countless times I tried picking up the phone to call you, but I always chickened out. I wanted to hear your voice, but how I ended our relationship in June, the last thing you probably want is to hear from me. There is so much I want to tell, but I can never find the words to explain, nor am I good at expressing how I feel in person, you know that. I decided to write you a letter expressing the feelings I feel for you.

I love you. I fucking love you. I love you so much that it scares me. I have never felt this way for everyone before. I made the decision to cut you from my life. I needed to protect you, so I sacrificed everything we had to keep you safe. By wanting to keep you safe, I hurt you. I will never forget the look on your face when I shattered your heart into a million pieces that night. I made it seem like you meant nothing to me, but in reality you mean everything. Absolutely everything. I would rather have you hate me and be safe, than be in love with me and something happens to you because of my line of work. I thought pushing you away would be easier for the both of us.

After everything I did, I realized how much I needed you. I need you by my side. I need you for the good days, the bad and everything in between. You’re the first thing I think of in the morning and the last thing I think about when I’m drifting off to sleep. I miss you. I know things between us might not ever be the same, but know how much I love you and how sorry I am for the pain I caused you.

My gosh..What a letter” the radio host says. 

Your hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, your knuckles turning almost white. Your eyes widened as you stared straight ahead at the traffic. Your heart was pounding relentlessly against your chest.

The letter was no coincidence at all. That letter was addressed to you, it was for you. The radio host did not mention his name, but you knew who they meant. It was Javier.

The radio host says your name again “I hope you’re listening...and do what you wish with this information. I wish you and the person that wrote you this letter the best.”

Your mind was swirling. You were surprised and shocked, but you wonder if Javier had heard the radio host read and broadcast his letter to you live for himself.

Honking cars broke you from your trance. Your car was parked in the middle of the road. Cars berated you with honks, cars severed around annoyed you were holding up and disturbing the flow of traffic.

You saw an exit to get off the freeway. You quickly vered your car over to the right, cutting off cars as you made it all the way over to the right lane. You went to the exit and just kept driving.

He loved you. He always had. That night he made you think differently. Things had been hard since your relationship with him ended in June. The only thing that you wanted to hear from him is that he loves you and that he would be coming back home to you.

Without thinking, you drove to his apartment. You needed to see him. You needed to talk about the letter. You made it to his apartment complex, you parked your car in an empty spot and parked it. You get out and rush into the building.

You enter the elevator and hit the button to the fifth floor. The elevator ride felt like an eternity as it ascended. Your mind was racing, what if he didn’t write you a letter? Did the radio host really read a letter? Were you making it all up in your head? Was this a whole elaborate illusion your mind made up in your head to help you cope with the pain of him breaking this off with you?

You shook your head trying to clear your thoughts as the elevator doors opened. You walk down the hall and march your way over to Javier's door.

You bring your fist up, and pound it against his door.

Javier opened the door, surprised at you standing there. You came here out of the blue, his heart was racing as he stared down at you.

He says your name “What are you doing here?” The worst pop into his head. Someone is after you “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” He looks at you with scared and concerned eyes.

“Is it true?” Your eye contact is not breaking his.

“What are you talking about?”

“The letter!”

“What letter?”

“The letter you wrote to me. Is what you wrote true?”

“The letter-” he looks confused at first but realization washes over him. He understood what you were talking about. He quickly goes back into his apartment. You follow him inside and shut his door. He walks over to his living room, taking his leather jacket off the sofa, and sticks his hand in his pocket, only to find his fingers sticking out of a big gaping hole.

“Shit” he mutters under his breath. He sets his jacket back down and turns to you. “Wha- H-how did you know about the letter?”

“Someone found the letter you wrote me, they read it on the radio. They told the world just how you felt”

“On the radio?”

“The radio host found it at a bar. They read it over the air. When they said my name, I thought it was a coincidence, but they started getting into details about things that hit too close to home. I knew it was meant for me. They didn't need to say your name because I knew it was from you”

You fiddled with the ends of your sleeves. You were nervous. Not sure how this conversation would go.

Javier closes his eyes and sighs. His hand rubs the back of his neck as he tilts his head slightly.

“Were you ever going to send it to me?” you asked

“I don’t know...I wrote it a while ago. I always carried it with me until I was ready to give it to you...guess the universe had other plans.”

Silence fell between the two of you.

“I really did mean everything I said in that letter. I love you...I always have and always will. I thought I was doing the right thing-”

Tears begin to fill in your eyes. “You don’t get to make that choice for me, Javier. You shouldn’t have made that choice for me. You took it away from me! Only I get to decide what's best for me and what I want”

“I know that and I'm sorry. I am sorry for pushing you away and for making you think I never loved you, but I do. I love you with all my heart, every fucking fiber of my being, to the moon and back.

You let your tears fall freely. To hear him say that he loves you for the first time in a while made you feel weak in the knees.

“Please don’t don’t cry- look, if you never wanna hear from me again-

“Fuck, I missed you so much” you sobbed as you quickly slammed his body into his. Your arms wrapped around his neck and your face buried into him. You both held each other tightly.

“I love you, Javier.”

The two you pull away, Javier holds your face in his hands. He caresses your cheek, brushing your hair out of your face. He tucks a stand behind your ear and wipes tears away with his thumbs.

The two of you lean to each other sharing a passionate kiss. Pulling away you foreheads rest against each other as your hold each other

“I love you” he says softly.

You smile “I know, they said it really loud, the said it on air, on the radio”

3. My dog, Florence. She is the funniest little nugg in the world. I got her about 2 months ago and she's 4 months now. She's a black and tan cavapoo x cocker spaniel and she is SO CUTE!!!

4. Fantasising about couples. It might not be real. It might be a real person and a fake person. It might be me it might not be me. I tend to fixate on things. One thing's for certain, I cry a lot when I think about my many OTPs.

5. Cooking and baking things. My family hate me cooking. I really don't get it. It might be a mess thing. Idk.

6. Eating. It's safe to say I like food. My "issues" make me feel unhappy in my body so I try to be healthy or whatever but sometimes my issues make me breakdown and eat Nutella out the jar. Food is so good. FOOD IS NOT THE ENEMY SO LOOK AFTER YOURSELVES!!!!

7. Painting and drawing. I'm an artistic soul. I don't get abstract though. Well I get it, I just can't do it. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. My art teacher used to make me take things home to finish them because I was so behind and took forever.

8. Outside, nature and wildlife. As much as I love my bed, I adore the outdoors. I love to hike and explore and I just love the things everywhere. It's like all the senses and stuff it's just the best.

9. Writing. I loveeee to write things. I've tried to do fanfics but I don't have the attention span but sometimes at school or something I just get super into it. I might just put my feminist dystopian fiction short story on here one day what do ya think?

10. Fashion. I like clothes. Yes such a stereotype girl but I doooo. I never had many clothes growing up but now I just spend all day looking at clothes. My whole vibe is somewhere between Hayley Williams, The whole BTVS scooby gang and the Lily James "Donna" from Mamma Mia 2.

What’s your favorite trait of this character?He’s a beautiful human being, man. Like, he had all the chances to become a complete asshole and a bully, but he didn’t. Because he has a good heart, ultimatelly, he is a good person.

What’s your favorite moment/even involving this character?Oh, God… Well, I love when he shaves for Jackie, for a start. It’s the cutest and sweetest thing. Every time he stands up for her before and after they get together. I love when he’s there for his friends, like fnvirnir. I love him.

IN MY ARMS - CHAPTER 1

Donna left the firm around 9:30 that night, which was a little later than usual but it didn’t bother her. She struggled focusing on her days work due to the kiss that was still playing on her mind. By the time she got home it was nearly 10:30, she had deceided to walk. Get some fresh air and have some self reflection time, but all that did was prove to her once again she needed Harvey as more than a colleague in her life.

She poured herself what she thought was a well deserved glass of wine. She swirled it round as she walked around her apartment shutting the blinds and windows, it’s was a rather chilly night. She was in the guest bedroom when she heard three heavy thuds on her front door, at first she thought she was hearing things, she looked at her watch it was nearly midnight. Who on earth could it be she thought. As she walked through to her lounge she heard another knock and a voice that made her straighten on the spot.

‘Donna I knoww you’re in therrreee, lllet mee in’, Harvey slurred, leaning on the door.

He was still leaning on the door when Donna opened it, too drunk to process the situation quick enough and he fell straight to the floor letting out a yelp of surprise.

‘Harvey! What an earth are you doing at this hour, my god you are an idiot!’ Donna said in a whispered stern voice, trying to attract as little attention as possible from her neighbours.

‘I needededed to seeee you’, slurred Harvey. Donna recognised he was clearly in no state to be sent home, not even if Ray picked him up, and she couldn’t leave him at the door so the only solution was to drag him in her apartment. Donna not being in the mood for a drunk visitor at this hour decided it would just be easier to literally drag him into her apartment, and that was exactly what she did. She grabbed him by both ankles and heaved, she moved him a total of 4cm’s and realised this was going to take a while. She tried pulling again. Harvey was so drunk it took him quite a while to process what was happening, when he did realise he cockily said,

‘Is this how you drag all of your sexual partners to bed?’ He also tried to wink but someone how ended up throwing his head back against the floor. Donna just laughed, she had never seen him this drunk before, he always bragged how well he could hold his liquor.

About five minutes passed and she finally got him far enough in her apartment to be able to close the door. Harvey was still on the floor with no chance of sobering up anytime soon.

‘Harvey why are you here?’ Donna questioned, sitting down beside his torso, raking her eyes over his drunken form. She admired how well he looked considering his state.

‘I neeeeed you’ slurred Harvey.

‘Need?’ Donna questioned.

‘I wanttt to take you in my aaaarms and neverrrr let you go like I should have years agooo’.

Donna was unsure of how to answer this, although he was drunk off his face it was like a dream come true, despite the fact he was too drunk to be responsible for even one pebble in the world, let alone what he was saying.

‘Harvey why are you so drunk? Did you and Mike go for drinks?’ Donna questioned, still somewhat confused how he got here alive.

‘You kisses me and I loveeee, I drank my drink and tolddd pauuuullaaaa I want to marreeeey Donnaaaa Robertaaaa tomorrow. She pusssshed me out the door yellinnng’ Harvey slurred but Donna being Donna understood all he had to say.
