Dark Cacao didn't grow up with a lot of stuff, and really, barely anything at all.

Like many others, I headcanon him that he came from poverty. The Cacao Village he lived in was barely hanging on and on the brink of collapsing upon itself. Cacao only had his father, who was getting weaker and too ill to properly take care of him most days.

Anyway, this didn't exactly need to be in my mlp/crk au style, but I was practicing my pony anatomy + I was working on Dark Enchantress' design so eh, why not.

canonically a leo

in the drama CDs there's a part where he, keisuke and the male mc go up to gekkoukan's rooftop and hidetoshi immediately points out how much trash there is, and proceeds to be embarrassed that that was the first thing his mind went to

during the kyoto trip he got chocolate all over his pants pocket bc it melted (i haven't seen the scenes in a while this may not be 100% accurate)

I would like to apologize for not being able to draw the iconic sword Lord Shen carries hhnnnnn

I forgot about it and didn't remember until I got here, editing the post and stuff aha—

I also forgot my sharpener (I made this at school) and the pencil just didn't have the right line weight, so I kinda gave up on that.

So as compensation, I made a doodle in which I compared my version of regular racer Zhang and Spy Zhang, and this is where I realized how broad his fan interpretations can go.

On one end of the spectrum, he's just a guy. Yanno, just chillin' and living his life.

ON THE OTHER END-

He has this backstory of being a descendant of one of the great serpents in the Chinese mythos and stuff.

I thought it was just your au penguinotaku, but apparently it's a semi popular headcanon???

I posted this doodle on twitter, and someone commented on my post having a pretty similar backstory for him. Dunno if that was you or not, but there were some pretty distinct differences.

Ah well. It's probably just a coincidence.
