linda as a therapist for literally everyone in the show is pretty flawed. yes, she can give perspective on supernatural matters but even her friends outside of the know (ella) go to her when they need the advice of a therapist. feel free to correct me on this but with my vague memory I at least know its highly unprofessional to take on a patient (fully booked and everything I presume) who you know personally or even just, has a impression in your life. as this can very much effect how you treat them and the help you give to them even if you don't mean it too.

lucifer being linda's paitent was obviously highly unethical at the start but eventually they develop into a more professional-friend kind. where still, it is unethical as eventually linda DOES fall into a relationship with lucifer's brother. who was an antagonist of sorts during at least season 1's sessions.

at some point i'd think between seasons 2-3 she starts writing the book about lucifer's therapy sessions and his life, given the book was on its completed first draft and we are shown it at least half way through at some point. and, if you dont know, writing a whole book (especially as long as linda's) takes a LONG time.

meaning, at any point in that time linda could've stepped back and thought: 'this is highly unethical and maybe I should at least get the permission of everyone who im using their private therapy sessions.' its a very simple yet, it couldve changed the whole direction of the book from being the simplified cliches of everyone to more realistic versions of the people.

linda takes advantage of lucifer while doing this, really, as when lucifer finds out about this book, he is thrilled. he is excited because it will be the first book to ever have an accurate representation of him.

And I think later, when everyone reads the book and finds out the contents are a really bad fanfiction of their lives, Lucifer is a bit disappointed. I mean, its supposed to be the first book to portray him in a light most accurate to him, and the book doesn't even end up doing that!

I also want to add that everyone gets mad at lucifer because of their portrayals in the book. When, in fact, they should've at least placed part of the blame on linda, the person who wrote the book. instead of taking literally every word of it to heart. (this post goes into it in more detail!)

Lucifer is, at times (a lot of the time), an unreliable narrator. Because he is made to always tell the truth, something that could be world-ending for Earth might not be important at all to him because x reason etc etc.

(example: the whole mira/rory thing - it didn't occur to him to mention to chloe that this supposed child of him is half angel because that genuinely wasnt important to him and didn't seem relevant to the occasion. chloe then gets pissy at him for this so the more you know)

I'm gonna say something that's pretty obvious but needs to be said: linda is not the group's therapist. of course, she is lucifer's highly unethical therapist. but she is not everyone elses. no one else is shown to have regular one on one sessions with her. apart from maybe ella & maze a couple times and the others are super rare.

her knowing and giving this guidance to her friends is really that. an act of their friendship that they trusted her to give good advice on how to deal with their obviously very stressful and traumatic lives.

then for her to turn around and write it into a book (probably turned book series given how long its said to be) which will be accessed but not only the general public, but also people outside of the know that close to them. like chloe's mother, ella's family, dan's parents etc etc.

that is a horrible thing. even if their families don't read the book, other people will.

imagine ella's distant cousin reads the books after it becomes popular for some reason, connects the dots. then suddenly ella's family are asking if she really had a serial killer for a boyfriend and can imagine the way a person dies perfectly from just seeing the scene and and and

dan is also very dead. at least legally dead. will dan's parents be contacted before the publishing of the book to ask for permission? probably not.

- (it would be funny to think if this is the downfall of the book. dan's parents suing this random stranger who claims to be their dead son's therapist for writing him in a book that hugely slanders and makes fun of him)

this will also affect their professional lives. all of sudden everyone they ever meet will have readily accessible detailed accounts of their lives for the past 5 years, their traumas, their ambitions everything about them at the fingertips of coworkers, employers, bosses, whatever.

even just a snippet of the book (it will most likely gain popularity with lucifer's reputation + the fact more that 50% of the cast for it will be cops) would be very insightful towards the point of view and personal information of everyone involved.

its a breach of privacy, a betrayal of trust and a destroyer to any lives the main cast could possibly lead after the publication. the storyline and concept sucks.

Fandoms: The Sentinel, Due South, Young Justice, Torchwood, Nimona, Warehouse 13, Lucifer, Stranger Things, 911 Lone Star, Hawaii 50, 911, Eureka

• Sentinel: Clint is sentinel whose strength is sight. But his abusive father still cost him a good chunk of hearing. Other events have left Clint completely deaf in one ear and partially in the other. In a world where ableism exists this makes it hard to find a guide. Until he meets Coulson/Natasha/Bobbi/Bucky/Darcy/Laura.

• Due South: Teenage Clint has been betrayed by Barney and Trickshot. The circus happened to be in Chicago at the time. Clint ends up homeless after being released/sneaking out from the hospital. He meets Diefenbaker on one of his adventures. This leads to Ray and Benton fostering Clint. Hawkeye still becomes an Avenger but he was SHIELDS best track in both urban and wilderness settings.

• DC: Young Justice Connor Kent tries to protect his team from an angry magic user. Instead of dying he is transported to the Barton farm a week before the snap. How would Clint's arc change if he had a superpowered teenager following him like a duckling.

• Torchwood: During Captain Jack's absence the rift gets odd again. Ianto and Toshiko get pulled in and spit back out in the sanctum sanctorum. Wong and Ianto bond over properly brewed hot drinks. Toshiko makes friends with a hacker online by the name of Skye.

• Nimona: What if Nimona brought a guest back with them in the form of a shape shifting Asgardian Loki. The God flirts heavily with Ballister to the annoyance of Ambrosius.

• Warehouse 13: Somehow Steve's shield becomes an artifact. Steve, Bucky and Sam take a trip to the warehouse in hopes of fixing it.

• Warehouse 13: During a new experiment to bring back her daughter HG Wells is sent to Tony Stark's lab while the man was explaining something to Peter Parker. To Clint's amusement HG flirts heavily with Natasha.

• Lucifer: Clint follows a suspect into Lux and stops her from taking a shot at Lucifer. When the cops arrive Clint has the awkward moment of seeing his ex-boyfriend, Detective Dan Espinoza.

• Stranger Things: Instead of exiting the upside down they end up in the sanctum. Much to Dr Stranger's annoyance but he does assist in helping them get back eventually. It takes effort because once the kids discover they are in a comic universe they want to explore.

• 911 Lone Star: When Steve was on his bike tour he met a Texas Ranger who he struck up a friendship with. Bucky, Steve and Sam were in town for the wedding incognito as "work friends". Because of this the gun shot wasn't fatal. Carlos doesn't know how to react to his Dad being friends with Avengers. And ones that weren't straight. I love a Jewish Bucky so he bonds with TK on several levels.

• Hawaii 50: Clint is taking a forced vacation in Hawaii. As luck would have it he's in a museum that Charlie's school was visiting when it was taken hostage. The bad guys are specifically looking for Charlie as revenge for something related to his stepdad. Clint stops them before the task force arrives. He quickly becomes family.

• 911: Bucky and Clint are trying a normal date at the Santa Monica Pier. They befriend a kid and the guy they assume is his stepdad. Then the Tsunami hits. Because of the extra trained adults Chris doesn't get lost. The school gets in hot water for calling Chris a liar for saying an Avenger saved him. The lawsuit goes down very differently, either because they get him a better lawyer who works with the union or offer Buck a job with Avengers HQ in New York.

• Eureka: Clint drops in on an old friend, Sheriff Jack Carter. Given all the shenanigans he's used to the town barely phases Clint. However Nathan Stark is not happy to have a member of his cousin's boyband hanging around Jack. His headache increases when several assassins, Bucky and Natasha, arrive to bug Clint.

A recent advisory from the U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy warned of the risks of social media usage for youth’s mental health—including sleep deprivation, depression and anxiety. The data that led to this warning comes largely from research linking social media use to outcomes in adolescence. While this is an important and welcome step toward regulating social media, the report also exposes a gap in the literature. Though the data are scant, children under the age of 10 are also actively using social media platforms. They too are engaged in a large natural experiment with relatively unknown consequences.

Young children on social media

According to a 2021 report conducted by Common Sense Media, nearly 40% of children between the ages of 8 and 12 in the United States use traditional social media platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook. Because the average child in the U.S. has a smartphone by age 10, it is not surprising that children in primary school are already experimenting with social media content. A survey carried out by the University of Michigan’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital reports that even children as young as 7 are  themselves in social media apps. Similar data has been reported in surveys across Europe. Less studied still are use patterns of children in the Global South, where 1 in 3 children (ages 3 to 17) are thought to be connected to the internet. Whether they are accessing social media sites or just playing games online is largely unknown.

Knowing how much time children of different ages are spending on these apps is crucial to understanding its impact for children across the globe. To date, research on this issue is also limited. The Common Sense Media report revealed that nearly 1 in 5 (18%) children in the U.S., ages 8-12, say they use social media “every day.” It also found that on average, 8- to 12-year-olds use about five and a half hours of screen media per day, though it’s unclear how much of that time is spent on social media and how much of this is weighted towards younger or older children in this age range. Indeed, research in this area should use smaller age bands as is the practice in the rest of developmental psychology to truly reflect the state of social media use. Eight-year-olds are very different learners and users than are students who are entering puberty. The existing evidence—even with its limits—strongly emphasizes the need to broaden the conversation and address the impact of social media on the world’s youngest users.

Virtual world platforms like Roblox and Minecraft, increasingly popular among early-elementary school children, have chat features that can expose young children to strong language, bullying, hate speech, and even predators. Roblox reports that 25% of its 202 million users are under the age of 9. While a combination of parental controls, content moderators, and language filters (which are more strict for children 13 and under) are in place, these companies have not reported whether these social media features are being used by younger children.

The bottom line is that young children around the world are exposed to and are using social media well before adolescence and this number is growing. The challenge, as always, is in maximizing opportunities for education and connection while minimizing harm and this is especially important for younger children.

Next steps

Research on the influence of social media on children 10 and under is urgently needed to shed light on the potential benefits and detriments and to shape policy in the U.S., Europe, and the Global South. The research should explore factors such as screen time, content consumption, the potential positive and negative impacts of social media use for this age range and, importantly, how early social media use factors into habits for later social media use across geographic contexts and across cultures. It must also be sensitive to the fact that impacts on younger children who are navigating their prowess as learners and as partners in social friendships might be very different than they are for adolescents who are working to secure their identity.

As the BBC noted in a recent article, the use of social media by children in primary school reflects the old adage: Kids are getting older younger (KGOY). Because, young children are increasingly finding ways to access technology, research-backed evidence must provide the backdrop for our policies.

Yes, the U.S. surgeon general’s report was an important first step in exploring the dangers of social media, especially for teenagers in the Global North where the research is currently focused. It is time to acknowledge, however, that social media use is not merely a problem for teens, but might also be problematic for young children who are just forming their digital habits. Until more research is available particularaly for younger children (under 10), nations might consider putting regulations in place that take a preventive approach as they are doing in Europe with their EU Policies to promote children’s online safety and well being, an approach manifest in their 2023 white paper. As in the literature on artificial intelligence, when we know so little about the consequence of a digital space, regulation that limits social media exposure for young children would be a valuable addition to the surgeon general’s recommendations.

Charlie is the first nephilim of current times. He was born when his father Amenadiel impregnated human Linda Martin. He didn't gain his wings until he was two years old because his father had been weakened when his conception happened. His younger cousin Aurora was born shortly after his second birthday and they settled into a mostly friendly rivalry of which one could gain control of their powers faster and become stronger. His childhood was full of visits from his father who had taken over being God. When he turned 18, Charlie joined the fire academy and hasn't looked back from helping humans in this way since.

FULL BIO

Charlie Martin was born on March 25, 2019 to human mother Linda Martin and archangel father Amenadiel. He was named after Charlotte Richards, a human that had become very dear to his father's heart. His life was very eventful in the first few days as he was kidnapped by demons with hopes of raising him to become the new King of Hell. Luckily, his father and Uncle Lucifer were able to save him from the demons and return him to his mother. While he was still a young infant, his Uncle Michael gave him the common cold to prove that he was merely mortal and send Amenadiel into a panic that might draw God out of hiding. The plan worked and when God met his grandson he agreed that he appeared mortal, but fell in love with Charlie instantly.

Amenadiel begged his father to allow Charlie to become immortal, even offering up his own angelic status. God denied this and remained close to his grandson until he retired to the Void with Goddess a few months later. After some back and forth with who should replace God, Amenadiel eventually took over the position. Charlie remained one of his top priorities, however, and helped Linda raise him whenever he could get himself away from Heaven. Amenadiel saw to it that he never missed any of Charlie's milestones, his favorite by far was when Charlie sprouted angel wings similar to his father's on his second birthday. Only a few short weeks after this, Charlie's cousin Aurora was born, the daughter of Chloe Decker and the vanished Lucifer.

Growing up together, the two Nephilim entered a mostly friendly rivalry, trying to race each other in any way possible. They wanted to see who could control their powers faster, who could be the better flier, and who could become the strongest. By the time that Charlie entered high school he was able to control his strength and powers enough to participate in nearly every sport he could. He had always enjoyed being among the humans which was highly encouraged by both of his parents. Upon graduation, Charlie enrolled in the LA fire academy, much to his mother's chagrin. He had been inspired by his father's stories of the brief time period he'd wanted to be a police officer, inspired by his late friend Dan Espinoza, but Charlie wanted no part in policing. Saving the people that literally ran into fires to save other people though? It felt like his calling.

Charlie knew that the LAFD couldn't be his forever as his aging slowed to a stop around twenty, he was insistent on enjoying his time there. By this time, he had gained control over dimensional travel and would sometimes visit his father in Heaven when he couldn't find time to pull away from it. When it should have been his thirtieth birthday, he ultimately decided that he would leave Los Angeles in pursuit of other fire departments, starting over as a recruit and working for a few years before moving on once more. His mother was retired at this point and followed him from town to town, not wanting to miss out on time with him. Charlie remained on the Western side of the US, close to LA to visit Aurora and the rest of their found family there within a day's drive as his mother was not keen on being a passenger with his angelic flight.

His mother's death wasn't easy on him, though he knew it was fortunate that it could have been a lot more difficult. He could still visit her in Heaven whenever he wanted, but it would never be the same as having her on Earth with him. As far as he was concerned, his fight wasn't over in protecting humans, though he did tend to spend a bit more time in Heaven after she was gone. A few short years later, Chloe Decker was on her death bed and Charlie quit his job in Madrid, Spain and returned to Los Angeles to be with his cousins Aurora and Trixie. Watching as her mother was dying and her father still never even showed up to say goodbye to Chloe who was still so in love with him angered Aurora enough to self-actualize into the past. When she disappeared, Charlie fled to Heaven to ask his father for help in finding her.

His father's calm and all-knowing demeanor when he explained that Aurora would be back in due time pissed him off. All of these years, Amenadiel and Linda remained loyal to Chloe and Lucifer in keeping him in the dark about his Uncle's true past as well. Aurora needed to return to the past to help Lucifer realize his true calling and realize herself that Lucifer's absence was what shaped her into what she was today. An annoyed and still in the dark Charlie returned to Los Angeles to be with Trixie. As his father had stated, Aurora returned back to the present with peace of who she and her father were and the three stayed with Chloe until she died. After this, Charlie continued his path with visiting different fire departments all around the world, but he kept himself close to his cousins and Aunts Maze and Eve. He still spends a good amount of time in Heaven and also sometimes accompanies Rory to Hell to see his uncle.

José Antonio Espinoza Izquierdo. Nací el día lunes 20 de agosto de 1990 aproximadamente a las 6 de la mañana. Primogénito de la familia Espinoza Izquierdo conformada por el Dr. José Robert Espinoza Alarcón y la Dra. Ingrid Paola Izquierdo Aguirre.

A los 3 años, según lo recomendado en aquellos tiempos, fui inscrito en el jardín de infantes pero retirado a los 4 meses de comenzado el período escolar, durante este tiempo y con las influencias de mi señora madre y mis abuelos, la Lcda Sara de Espinoza y el Lcdo. José Espinoza, recibí formación en casa, motivando y despertando mi interés por temas avanzados a mi corta edad.

A los 4 años ingreso a la preparatoria de la Unidad Educativa Mariscal Sucre, donde apenas duro un par de meses. La falta de interés en clases y una dispersión alertan a la docente del grado y deriva al departamento de orientación, donde la Psicóloga, luego de descartar dislexia o problemas de aprendizaje, diagnosticará un iq (coeficiente intelectual) muy superior a lo normal, recomendando a mis padres cambiarme a un colegio especial para “dotados” en donde se aumenta la carga de contenidos por materia. En ese año (1994) eran muy pocas las instituciones con adaptaciones curriculares para este tipo de casos.

Por decisión de mi padre de no retirarme de la escuela ya que no quería una formación solo intelectual sino también emocional y social; y por recomendación de la psicóloga, me subieron de grado a 1er grado (2do EGB en la actualidad) con 4 años, sin adaptaciones diferenciadas. Este cambio en cuanto a la parte académica no afectó, pero sí a la parte afectiva, emocional y social

Desde los 6 años aproximadamente, despierta en mí, lo que sería mi adicción hasta la actualidad, el amor por la lectura, que en aquella edad se veía resumida a enciclopedias, diccionarios y textos de interés científicos. Es así que a los 9 años y producto de ese “amor lector” pude llevar a cabo una exposición sobre las teorías de los agujeros negros y su “punto de no regreso” así como la inversión de masa y desprendimiento de partículas, nada “normal” para un niño de esa edad.

A la edad de 10 años comienzo mis estudios secundarios en la Unidad Educativa Salesiana Cristóbal Colón donde con mayor familiaridad desarrollo actividades deportivas y sociales. Es durante esta etapa que conoceré a grandes personajes como el Padre Virgilio Noboa Sdb; Mariano Falcónez, Dr. Jorge Torres, Lcdo. Segundo de la Cruz, mi gran “amigo” Rommel Mosquera, entre otros ilustres que aportaron directamente a mi formación.

Durante este tiempo también conozco a los que serán mis grandes amigos hasta ahora, Moisés Franco y Marcos Albán, con quienes tan solo poner la mitad de anécdotas que tengo me ocuparía más de 100 páginas de este blog. Así que los dejo para futuros escritos…

En décimo EGB y con 13 años sucede un hecho al cual dedicaré otro blog, el cual me motiva a replantearme el para qué estoy usando los dones que Dios me había dado. Ingreso a los grupos juveniles de la Pastoral del Cristóbal colón con 13 años a finales del 2003. Desde entonces mi vida cambió radicalmente.

Lo que parecía una “tontería” para mi…se convirtió en mi filosofía de vida. El ayudar y servir a niños y adolescentes bajo el carisma salesiano se volvió en mi pan de cada día y el “ayudar a un niño cada que este lo necesite” es el compromiso que espero respetar hasta que Dios así lo quiera. Empezaría a asistir a convivencias desde el año 2004 y a formarme y autoformarme en cosas anexas al carisma salesiano.

El 27 de enero del 2007 con 16 años de edad me incorporaría de Bachiller en Físico matemático promoción 63 y así dejaría de pertenecer a mi hogar, mi casa, mi amado ccc. Muchas aventuras, alegrías, tristezas, enojos habían quedado en esas aulas, pero sabía que ahora iniciaba un nuevo reto; aunque para ser sincero jamás imaginé lo que sucedería a continuación.

El 2 de febrero del 2007 comenzaría mi primer ciclo de universidad. Siendo mi primera opción la Universidad Santa María. Mi elección por la carrera de ciencias empresariales respondió a mi interés desarrollado desde niño por la actividad empresarial y a mi afición por las matemáticas y contabilidad. En octubre del 2007 decido cambiarme de universidad e ingresar a la Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo donde estudiaré hasta el año 2011.

Durante este tiempo no dejé de lado mi accionar en convivencias y retiros del Cristóbal Colón, asistiendo también a encuentros del colegio Domingo Savio y Domingo Comín de la ciudad de Guayaquil. A los 19 años (año 2010) cruzaría por un momento de dudas vocacionales y opto por el sacerdocio gracias a los consejos de mi guía espiritual Monseñor Alfredo Espinoza, Director general del Cristóbal Colón en ese entonces posteriormente ecónomo de la casa Inspectorial. Pero la decisión de seguir en lo que hago la tomaría 3 días después dejando para siempre la opción del sacerdocio y comprometiéndome más a la actividad de pastoral juvenil.

En marzo del 2011 comenzaré a laborar formalmente en mi casa. El CCC me abre las puertad como coordinador de los grupos juveniles y director del asociacionismo del Colegio. Interminable sería la lista de chicos que aportaron con experiencias a mi vida, y que hasta el día de hoy los llevo en mi corazón y oraciones. A quienes extraño y extrañaré y que aún me afecta el haberlos dejado. Pero no me arrepiento de aquello. Dios sabe por qué hace las cosas. En marzo del 2013 y luego de una serie de conflictos con los altos mandos. Me retiro de mi hogar al que espero un día regresar.

La Unidad Educativa Liceo Panamericano, con su nueva administración pretendía crear un departamento de pastoral y acepté la misión. En pocos días y noches, pude crear algunos proyectos de iniciación en un colegio laico para volverlo católico e inyectar ese toque de salesianidad al que estaba acostumbrado. Hoy en día, y viendo para atrás la labor hecha en el liceo panamericano, me siento orgulloso y sé que esas noches sin dormir valieron la pena.

En Abril del 2014 recibiría la invitación para representar a mi país como delegado de la Pastoral Juvenil ecuatoriana en el I COLPAFA (CONGRESO LATINOAMERICANO PASTORAL FAMILIAR) organizado por el CELAM (CONFERENCIA EPISCOPAL LATINOAMERICANA) y así en julio del 2014 viajaría a la cálida ciudad de Panamá a participar en tal congreso donde pude hacer algunas aportaciones en cuanto a la doctrina de pastoral familiar desde la comunicación intro-familiar (espero poder escribir más adelante sobre estos aspectos)

En Octubre del 2014 el M.I. Municipio de Samborondón se puso en contacto conmigo para tratar temas relacionados a formación juvenil. Lastimosamente muchos proyectos quedaron inconclusos, pero confirmé que la política no es lo mío.

Desde el 2017 al 2021 decido reforzar el proyecto de instituto de formación catequética de la AJMC. Y me doy unos años sabáticos en torno a la formación directa con jóvenes. Sin embargo la vocación manda y en el 2022 acepto la propuesta de la que hoy por hoy es mi casa.

Fe y alegría y su filosofía de educación popular e inclusiva se presenta como la luz que siempre busqué... Como si todo lo que me he formado y he tenido que aprender en casi 20 años de vida pastoral me trajeron a este lugar. Espero poder aportar lo que más pueda, siendo más para servir mejor y trabajando por y para chicos que aun no conozco pero sé que andarán los pasos que estoy dejando marcados.

Me caracterizo como una persona muy sociable, carismática, justa y honesta. Mi mayor defecto es ser muy sincero sin darme cuenta si mi sinceridad afecta o no a los demás. Creo entre otras cosas que si uno quiere cambiar el mundo, puede comenzar a hacerlo y vivir la “vida eterna” de que alguien te tome de ejemplo y siga haciendo tu labor.

After millennia of being the world’s shittiest boss, Lucifer comes on a bit strong when Crowley finds his family in the middle of a murder investigation. Chloe has no clue what the real story is between Lucifer and his brother, but the biblical one is dramatic enough. This brother got thrown out of Heaven for not taking sides in their family’s “war” and then more recently adopted the Antichrist despite the kid disowning Lucifer as a father. Whatever that was code for is probably just as complicated, knowing Lucifer. Adam, Crowley, Aziraphale, and Warlock were just trying to celebrate their little family. Murder, underground criminal organizations, money: the Dowling name was good for it all. Malcolm Bright was so close to finding out exactly how a prominent politician, Thaddeus Dowling, had a crime empire growing in the shadow of Endicott’s, well the big fish got caught and now Hell’s chosen surrogate father was taking advantage. So when his mysterious son shows up in New York with a group of Brits (one of whom looks too much like Dr. Whitly) they need to find out what this kid’s deal is.
