SNA broke their 8 year hiatus with the release of the mesmerising ‘5’ in Oct 2022. 1 year on, we release ‘5 (remixed)’ which compiles ambient, house, electronica, post rock/shoegaze, dub and electro pop remixes from artists such as The John Cream Collective (aka Summer Night Air), Cathode (aka Steve Jefferis, one half of Warm Digits ), Score (aka Chris Tate of Salisman , One Key Magic, d_rradio) and ako (aka Simeon Soden, one half of Badger).
ALBUM of the MONTH 12/23:
Oh yea, This is it… this is sound of stoic confidence…
‘WHEN NO BIRDS SANG’ finds @fullofhellandnothing exceeding all my expectations on their formative album as the two veteran heavyweights (@fullofhell & @bandofnothing) shed any preconceived notions while bringing the measured goods across a six-track spread of caustically punished, stoically slow_cored & dream_popped DoomGaze…
Opener “Rose Tinted World” is the ideal table setter, where the vastly different worlds that its creators reside within mesh in exactly the way you’d expect… where the caustic meets the amplified stacks (where loud meets the quiet).
“Like Stars in the Firmament” simmers across 5+ mins of hypno_hazed, wistfully whispered & slow_coring DreamPop while album “Forever Well” broods across 2 mins before careening under the worthy of a caustic swell.
“Wild Blue” is a pure mood piece, cinematic in nature & post_rock in its execution leading into the title-track, which favors the slow burn across damn near 6 mins of blissful haze while closer “Spend the Grace” finds the two genre agnostic groups “meeting in the middle” across damn near 6 mins of pleasingly punished, sonically swirled & buzzingly brutal DoomGaze.
‘When No Birds Sang’ is truly the sound of two titans finding common ground while flexing their seasoned skill.
