Y’all, I need you to hear me out on the absolute crack-ship I came up with.

They both are very musical. Specifically, they both seem passionate about dancing

Despite still being a villain, El Macho seems like a decently nice guy. Paired with Bratt’s combination of absolute narcissism and intense insecurities, I think Bratt would seriously benefit with a guy who can be calm and genuinely nice

Ok this is just a headcanon, but since Bratt speaks French in that one scene, I like to think he’s multilingual. So the two talk shit about other people in Spanish

They both have their little sidekicks (Bratt with Clive and El Macho with… whatever the chicken’s name was)

One thing is that I’m not sure about is how Bratt would feel about El Macho’s son, Antonio. Like he’d either think the kids a jerk, or would endorse Antonio being a jerk

How I’d Imagine Illumination Villains to Summon Negativians (Illumination Dream Linkage)

Inspired by This

Description: These creatures are born from the darkness in people’s hearts. But this time around, the victim is forcefully put into the cage and their negative energy fuses with an inanimate object. Plus, the villains have some insane summoning animations.

Note: In this, the victims are placeholders.

Red- Villain

Orange- Villain Linker

Black- Both

Green- Victim

Purple- Negativian

Vector (Despicable Me):

(Vector and his Linker notice the person)

“It’s about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!”

“Negative Wave!”

“Gah!”

(The victim starts having a cage of Despair formed around them with help from Vector’s Robots)

“Ordering You, Negativian!”

(They place a robotic lock on the cage the victim is in. A flurry of pixels rush across the screen, and the Negativian appears)

“NEGATIVIAN!!”

Aloysius O’Hare (The Lorax):

(Aloysius and his Linker notice the person)

"It's about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!"

"Negative Wave!"

"Gah!"

(The victim starts having a cage of despair formed around them.)

(They place a lock that looks like a unit of canned air on the cage the victim is in. The screen is bulldozed across, and the Negativian appears)

(El Macho and his Linker notice the person)

"Negative Wave!"

"Gah!"

(The victim starts having a cage of Despair formed around them as explosions go off)

(El Macho and his linker shove a padlock onto the cage the victim is in with their bare hands. A massive explosion occurs, and the Negativian appears.)

"NEGATIVIAN!!”

Scarlet Overkill (Minions):

(Scarlet and her Linker notice the person)

"It's about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!"

"Negative Wave!"

"Gah!"

(The victim starts having a cage of Despair formed around them, which is the same color as Scarlet Overkill’s palette- red.)

"Ordering You, Negativian!"

(They place a scarlet red lock on the cage the victim is in. A fiery red explosion happens, and the Negativian appears.)

"NEGATIVIAN!!"

Balthazar Bratt (Despicable Me 3):

(Bratt and his Linker notice the person)

"It's about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!"

(Balthazar Bratt tosses a data chip into a vat of chemicals.)

"Negative Wave!"

(The lights turn on to reveal a massive machine.)

"Gah!"

(The victim gets encased in a cage of Despair, with various other panels closing in front of them, finally cutting back to the machine.)

"Ordering You, Negativian!"

(Bratt and his linker + Clyde press a remote control with a red button, causing the machine to overwork itself on purpose. A massive explosion occurs, and the Negativian appears.)

"NEGATIVIAN!!"

Note: This one was inspired by Dr. Traum’s Oshimaida summoning animation.

Sergei (The Secret Life of Pets 2):

(Sergei and his Linker notice the person)

"It's about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!"

"Negative Wave!"

"Gah!"

(The victim starts having a cage of Despair formed around them with wolves howling in the background.)

"Ordering You, Negativian!"

(Sergei and his linker shove a wolf themed padlock onto the cage the victim is in. A massive explosion occurs, and the Negativian appears.)

"NEGATIVIAN!!"

Jimmy Crystal (Sing 2):

(Jimmy and his Linker notice the person)

"It's about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!"

"Negative Wave!"

"Gah!"

(The victim starts having a cage of Despair formed around them as giant crystals grow around the cage.)

"Ordering You, Negativian!"

(Jimmy and his linker place a lock on the cage- which is ironically made of crystal. An explosion occurs, and the Negativian appears.)

"NEGATIVIAN!!"

Belle Bottom (Minions 2: The Rise of Gru):

(Belle Bottom and her Linker notice the person)

"It's about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!"

"Negative Wave!"

"Gah!"

(The victim starts having a cage of Despair formed around them as a dragon chains them with its fire breath; and golden chains also bind them further.)

"Ordering You, Negativian!"

(Belle Bottom and her linker shove a disco ball themed lock onto the cage the victim is in with their bare hands. A glittering explosion occurs, and the Negativian appears.)

"NEGATIVIAN!!"

Note: The same goes for the other members of the Vicious 6, but I got lazy and used Belle Bottom as a placeholder for all of them. For those who are curious, Nun-Chuck’s has snakes tying the victim to the cage, and a Demon + Angel lock, Svengance’s has rollerblades and a Tiger themed lock, Stronghold’s has literal iron fists locking up the victim and a lock with bull horns + a nose ring, and Jean Clawed has a monkey tying the victim to the cage and a crustacean themed lock.

King Boo (The Super Mario Bros. Movie):

(King Boo and his Linker notice the person)

"It's about time you kiss your dreams goodbye!"

"Negative Wave!"

"Gah!"

(The victim starts having a cage of Despair formed around them as ghosts and boos alike swirl around them.)

"Ordering You, Negativian!"

(King Boo and his linker raise their arms, and a ghostly lock seals up the cage the victim is in. A ghostly explosion occurs, and the Negativian appears.)

"NEGATIVIAN!!"

Note: I didn’t use Bowser as the Mario Movie representative because he’s fighting to get his army back.

listen i know that vector represents people who are born into wealth and will use that to take advantage of others and steal the spotlight from actually talented people. and i know macho represents people who will manipulate you into doing things for them when you’ve just been heartbroken and you’re at your lowest. and i know scarlett represents people who punish everyone for something only a few people did due to not having any healthy coping mechanisms. and i know bratt represents people who can’t move on from the past. and i know the vicious 6 represent people who are power-hungry and will abandon others for validation. and i know the franchise purposely does this so kids know who to look out for. but have you considered i love them all ESPECIALLY SCARLETT AND VECTOR unconditionally?

I’m feel like I hit rock bottom if I am seriously thinking about making a Despicable Me/Minions AU so I feel like defending myself before delving to deep into this and confusing people.

I personally can’t stand the minions. They are so annoying and I feel as if they are only used for terrible Facebook memes and fart jokes. The one thing I like about the Despicable Me and Minions movies are their villains. They are either 1. A really cool concept wasted on a minions movie or 2. a character that is so incredibly memeable but only because they are from the minions movie.

A very dumbed down version of the AU is this: Villains are all in prison and somewhat bond with each other over their shared hatred of Gru. AVL decides to send in agent lady to attempt to reform the villains through therapy (that doesn’t really work). Meanwhile AVL is dealing with new super strong villain. Agent Lady not only has a soft spot for villains, but is actually the super strong villain in disguise. Bla bla shenanigans ensue
