I’m making “secondary subclasses” as class-specific organisations, separate from and in addition to subclasses, for all 5e classes: Artificer, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard.
Druid Coven
You are affiliated with a group that offers a feature at 1st, 6th, and 13th level. In addition, each group has an optional boon that they can earn at 20th level at the DM's discretion. You can join one of the following druid covens of your choice as your group: Seers, Whisperers, or Witches.
Seers
The seers spend their time peering into the future and advising those who rely on their wisdom and foresight. Your affiliation with this coven allows you to gain an audience with people in positions of power that might otherwise dismiss the words of a druid.
Portent of the Coven (1st Level). When you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your druid coven, you can roll a d20 and record the number rolled at the end of that downtime. You can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by you or a creature that you can see with this foretelling roll. You must choose to do so before the roll, and you can replace a roll in this way only once. When you gain a new foretelling roll from your coven features, you lose any unused foretelling roll.
Oracle Spells (6th Level). All spells from the divination school of magic are added to the druid spell list for you.
Revelation (13th Level). As an action, you can gain a new foretelling roll as per your Portent of the Coven feature. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your druid coven.
Boon of Truesight (Boon). You have truesight out to a range of 60 feet.
Whisperers
The coven of the whisperers shares ancient secrets among its members, as well as collecting rumors of current events. Your coven will tell you rumors in druidic, and at times you will see their hidden marks across the world, indicating the presence of a secret.
Magical Secret (1st Level). Choose one spell from any class. The spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Druid table, or a cantrip. The chosen spell counts as druid spell for you, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of druid spells you can prepare. If you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your druid coven, you can replace this spell with a different one.
Whispers (6th Level). You learn the message cantrip. It counts as a druid spell for you, and it doesn't count against the number of druid cantrips you know. For you, it has a range of 300 feet and isn't blocked by stone or wood.
Lost Knowledge (13th Level). You can cast the legend lore spell without expending a spell slot or any material components. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your druid coven.
Quiet Speech (Boon). You can speak while in the area of a silence spell, and you can choose to cause other creatures to hear you when you do so.
the evil warlock: "SILENCE!" the druid: "meow :3"
[I am aware this boon is mostly useless to a level 20 druid, but hear me out here: meow :3]
Alternatively, Quiet Speech may give telepathy out to a range of 120 feet.
Witches
The members of your coven conduct rituals to accomplish mystical goals, both together and on their own. You can expect your coven to help you find answers to your questions as often as you answer the questions of your fellow coven members.
Witch's Expertise (1st Level). Choose Arcana, Nature, or Religion. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses the chosen proficiency. If you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your druid coven, you can change this proficiency out for the other.
Ritualist (6th Level). You can cast a druid spell as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag and is of a level for which you can prepare druid spells. You no longer have to have the spell prepared. In addition, the extra time it takes you to cast a druid spell as a ritual is reduced from 10 minutes to 1 minute.
Arcane Magic (13th Level). As an action, you can create the effects of one wizard spell of 5th level or lower, as if cast as a 5th-level spell, without casting the spell. If the spell normally has a casting time of 1 bonus action, you can use this feature as a bonus action instead Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your druid coven.
Coven Magic (Boon). When you cast a spell of 1st level through 5th level, you can expend a spell slot of the appropriate level from a willing creature within 30 feet of you rather than one of your own spell slots.

two questions for you!
• pwotr fanfic you wanna write but haven't started yet
• NON pwotr fanfic you wanna write but haven't started yet
Hehe thanks Ella 💕
PWOTR fanfic plans... well, not to say too much but the post-ascension fic leaves the door open for a collaborative sequel or some sequel tidbits I would SO love to write.
Non-PWOTR fanfic not right now, too obsessed. Some old original WIPs have been calling to me though - one set in Eberron, one in Planescape, one in a homebrew world based on ancient Persia.
Thanks for asking 😊

trie <3
meet my dnd character trie! (she/her) she exists in a homebrew game, on the continent of Razzar.
she was born a half elf, to a human and a wood elf. her name was ‘Triethrielle (tree-eth-ree-el)’ and went by ‘Ella’ for the longest time. she began her journey as a level 2 fighter, with the soldier background. She fought in the tyranny, on the side of the kings, against the mages. she was assigned to a unit, affectionally self titled ‘the rainbow battalion’; as there were 7 members each of a different skin colour making up the roygbiv. (trie was the g, for green!). During this war, she was wed to a medic, an elven woman named Diedre. The two fell in love, had a small cottage they escaped to whenever they could. With a war raging in the background of their lives, they lived in bliss. They had the most pure of love.
This all changed the day Ella died. Diedre screamed and pleaded for Ella to be taken for resurrections, but it was deemed she was not important enough to warrant the spell. On the side of the kings- magic was not so freely used. Ella died, and she stayed dead for a little more than 200 years.
In the meantime, Diedre turned into...something else. She turned to necromancy, wizardry, dark magic. She hid from society and began to study. Time passed, the war ended, and society rebuilt. The leaders of the new nations betrayed their monarchs and sided with the mages, forming a magocracy across Razzar. Diedre stole Ella’s body, and finally succeeding in resurrecting her. When Ella woke up, she did not breathe. She felt no hunger, and found no need for real sleep; she had been reborn. Her memories were empty, and she looked up at the woman who granted here life, who looked at her with love, and she did not know them at all. Diedre was enraged, and spent the next several months attempting to help Ella regain her memories. Meanwhile, Ella is forming a new identity in this new world. She could not help but feel that Diedre, this woman who said she loved her, did not love her at all, but loved the person she was before death. In a verbal fight between the two, as there often had been these last five months as they struggled to fall into each other once again, Ella lashed out with a burst of arcane energy- she raged. Now with 3 levels of wild magic barbarian under her belt, she took what she could in a backpack and ran away from Diedre. She claimed that Ella died, and she was Trie now, emblematic of her name still, but a new person.
Trie ran to the Hidden Blossom, a nation in Razzar. Unsure what to do, but aware she needed to make a living, she took up a guard position as a ‘protector’ in a farming town on the edge of the border between this nation and the wilds. Nothing monumental happens for a month, as Trie begins to learn about herself. What she likes, what she doesn’t like. An event is to be held soon, an auction and a ball. Protectors are being assigned to groups of notable people, to keep them safe should anything happens. The wilds and their beasts of burden have a habit of making themselves known, so this seems a regular course of action. Trie is assigned to a group of adventurers without a name. She is told they came up from Famoose, choosing to travel through the wilds to get here. During the event, Trie was on duty as a ‘protector’ but distracted, as she found the woman she is calling her ex-wife (death ends marriage! i keep trying to tell her!) Diedre, a guest at this auction. A monster attacks the gala, seemingly controlled by Diedre. We watch her hit the floor unconscious as we bound in to fight, but she is hardly believed dead.
The party continues on, with Trie still acting as ‘protector’. Our actions lead us to uncover the nefarious activities of the auctions host, who we end. Isel accidentally sets loose an illithid who was trapped in the dungeons of her manor, and leaves the party in order to rectify this mistake, vowing to return when they have learned more. We discover that one of the party members, Isel, is a reincarnation of the king that Trie fought and died for in the Tyranny. We discovered an enemy from the war still lived, and was in the process of attempting to summon a god in order to kill them, forming a cult that had ruined the life of another party member, Basil, in the process. We investigated, faced a false hydra, saved Basil’s home town from an attack that was coordinated with other attacks against the rest of Razzar, and eventually, destroyed this old enemy. During this time, Trie had come to believe that the real reason they were brought back to life, not Diedre’s reason, but the universe’s reason, was to take out this enemy finally. When he was dead, his head caved in, Trie did not feel fulfilled. She felt now, directionless. She has come to know of a minor diety, Raenisa of Wild Magic, who is interested in Trie, but she is more interested because of what she is; a product of Diedre’s magic, rather than who she is; a person in her own right.
We continue travelling, and eventually, Isel returns to the party. They call themselves now Marisol, a combination of their name and the name of the king they were once, Maradeim. They have returned with a sword, Maradeim’s sword, that they cannot weild in this lifetime. They don’t have the ability to weild a greatsword like this as they are a mage- a funny irony given their previous life. They hand the sword to Trie, and ask them to weild it well. Trie says yes, on the condition that Marisol do not leave the party again, so Trie may use this weapon to protect Marisol. In this moment, Trie takes a vow, and becomes an oath of the crown paladin.
The party was invited to a summit, an important conversation to be had between nations of persons of notice, given the attacks on everyone’s homes, the defeat of a wartime enemy, and many more issues. During this summit, the adventuring party, now referred to as The Heroes of Razzar, makes it clear that they are for the people, and unhappy with the conditions of current rulership. Now, at the gala after the summit, a party to welcome in a new peaceful political climate, there has been an attack, and for the first time, Trie has drawn the king’s sword, ‘Lux Veritas’. She hopes that in using this sword, she can find a greater purpose beyond her short term goals.

Cleric Temple
You are affiliated with a group that offers a feature at 1st, 6th, and 13th level. In addition, each group has an optional boon that they can earn at 20th level at the DM's discretion. You can join one of the following cleric temples of your choice as your group: Guidance, Offering, or Purity.
Guidance
Your temple's purpose is to help others in need and help them find their path in life. Your temple will provide shelter for you, your companions, and any of your allies in need.
Extra Cantrip (1st Level). You learn one of the following cantrips of your choice: guidance, light, resistance. If you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your cleric temple, you can change your chosen cantrip to one of the others.
Minor Intervention (6th Level). As a reaction when you see a creature make an ability check or a saving throw, you can expend a spell slot to give the creature advantage on the roll.
Great Blessing (13th Level). As an action, you can choose one creature other than yourself that you can see within 30 feet of you. Until the start of your next turn, the target has advantage on all attack rolls and saving throws, and it is immune to the following conditions: Charmed, exhaustion, frightened, paralyzed, poisoned, and stunned. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your cleric temple.
Grant Luck (Boon). When you are concentrating on a spell that affects only one friendly creature, that creature gains a +1 bonus to AC and saving throws.
Offering
Your temple provides sacrifices to your deity for favors. Your temple is also a meeting place for others who wish to honor the gods, allowing you to meet new people and make connections while staying at your temple.
Acquire Offerings (1st Level). If you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your cleric temple, you can find a reliable seller of any material components for a spell that you can cast. If you antagonize the seller in any way, you lose this feature until the DM grants it to you again.
Petition Divinity (6th Level). You can spend 1 minute performing a ritual in which you provide offerings to your deity worth at least 1 gp. The offerings must be appropriate to your religion, and they are consumed by the ritual. You then roll percentile dice. If you roll a number equal to or lower than the worth of the offerings in gp, you regain all expended uses of your Channel Divinity. Examples of offerings include a goat (1 gp), a bottle of fine wine (10 gp), or four flasks of holy water (100 gp total).
[The DM can rule that a living sacrifice, such as a goat, is worth more than its market price for this feature]
Promise to Deliver (13th Level). When you cast a cleric spell that has a material component which is consumed by the spell, you can cast the spell without expending a spell slot [providing the material component]. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your cleric temple and expend the total gold cost of the component [to be consumed].
Ultimate Sacrifice (Boon). You can use your Divine Intervention feature even if you have already used it within the last 7 days. If you do, you die and cannot be returned to life by any means.
Purity
Clerics at this temple work to transcend mortality and reach a divine existence. Spreading the word of your purity and good deeds, this temple allows you to gain an audience with people in positions of power that might otherwise dismiss you.
Cleansing Ritual (1st Level). If you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your cleric temple, you can be cured of any curses, end any reduction to your hit point maximum, and gain inspiration.
Divine Health (6th Level). The divine magic flowing through you makes you immune to disease.
Miracle (13th Level). As an action, you can create the effects of one cleric spell of 5th level or lower, as if cast as a 5th-level spell, without casting the spell. If the spell normally has a casting time of 1 bonus action, you can use this feature as a bonus action instead. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you spend at least 7 days of downtime with your cleric temple.
Minor Apotheosis (Boon). You are considered a deity for the purposes of effects such as the antimagic field spell Additionally, you suffer none of the drawbacks of old age, and you can't be aged magically.
"How do you do, fellow gods?"

PLS tell me about your dnd OCs I feel like they’re amazing!
First: Ella, I love you, and thank you so much for asking about my OCs because that super made my day! <3
Second: there’s so much I can say about just one of them, but I feel like it needs to be said that when making DnD characters, I’ve noticed I tend to just... reuse and remix the same character tropes in different quantities/intensities? (I got bored one weekend and made a bunch of Venn diagrams to chart all those overlaps; it’s kind of hilarious.) But despite that, they still have their differences, so here’s a little bit about each of them (in order of when I first played them!)
Adalheid (formerly of Clan Hallowstone)
RACE: Dwarf CLASS: Rogue (Mastermind) PRONOUNS: She/her ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Neutral CAMPAIGN: Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
The first of a long string of rogue business major OCs, Adalheid kind of got disowned by her clan for fucking up the integrity of their business operations (I say “kind of” because she actually skipped town before she got disowned — she’s very much a “you can’t fire me; I quit” kind of gal), so now she’s set up shop in Waterdeep, disguising her forging operations as a semi-legitimate import/export company! Despite her shadiness re: business, she’s actually a pretty responsible person who usually has her shit together, and she’s very much the Mom Friend of the party.
Wilhelm “Billy” Barrethal
RACE: Human CLASS: Rogue (Assassin) PRONOUNS: He/him ALIGNMENT: Neutral Good CAMPAIGN: Stormpunk (homebrew)
It would be so easy for Billy to have become just a terrible, edgy person, considering he’s 1) another business major, 2) ex-military, and 3) almost an assassin, but he’s like, an actual Disney prince and definitely the moral center of his particular party! He’s a veteran who got wrapped up, Julius Caesar-style, in a plot to sabotage a peace treaty by assassinating a war “hero,” but then it all went pear-shaped and he had to go on the run (which is why he went exclusively by “Billy” for the entire campaign! I had so much fun keeping his tragic backstory a secret from everyone). Even so, he’s an incredibly compassionate and deeply nerdy guy with a lot of regrets over his past. And he’s getting better!
Orsina Pradova
RACE: Human CLASS: Rogue (Assassin) PRONOUNS: She/her ALIGNMENT: Lawful Evil CAMPAIGN: Ravnica
I only played Orsina for a little one-shot we did in between campaigns, but I would love to return to her someday because it’s so much fun playing a straight-up bitch (and I mean that in the nicest way possible). She’s an assassin, and later, pontiff for the Orzhov Syndicate — which I like to describe as “the Catholic Church if they decided to make indulgences the cornerstone of their dogma and then had a merger with the mafia” — so she’s pretty solidly on the Bad side of things! But she’s very classy and very competent and very hot and definitely scary, and I love her dearly. (Because huzzah for morally questionable ladies!)
Johanna “Jo” Raab
RACE: Human CLASS: Ranger (Hunter) PRONOUNS: They/them ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Good CAMPAIGN: Dungeons and Cowboys (homebrew)
Jo’s my current character and honestly, I’ve gotten so attached to them, I will 100% cry if they bite the dust. They’re a former caravan guard who almost got horribly manipulated into joining a gang of outlaws (who also just happened to be werewolves) — ultimately, they refused and escaped and managed to carve out an honest life for themself, but unfortunately, Jo can’t escape that past forever! They’re a ride-or-die friend and always ready to stick up for the little guy, and I can’t wait to see how they grow over the course of this campaign.
P.S. Curious about which DnD OC of mine you are? I have a very niche uQuiz to determine just that!
P.P.S. Also, I have playlists for each of them!
Adalheid: hit ‘em right between the eyes
Billy: call me nobody; let me live
Orsina: i never promised you an open heart or charity
Jo: set my mind to wandering and walk a broken line

Shameless plug here but I know there's probably a bunch of you out there looking for something else to listen to while Critical Role is on break, what with all the extra free time and being confined at home. So here's my pitch:
Tumblr media
We're just five friends looking to enjoy some D&D together. We've been playing for a couple of years now and very recently started this new campaign (our DM has put sooooo much effort into it and we're extremely excited). One of us suggested the idea of turning this campaign into a podcast and we figured why not.
As of right now there's only 3 episodes out, but it is very much a steady campaign with a long future ahead.
The characters:
Mada (Brandon): Yehaw! Tiefling Warlock with a Texan accent. Without many spoilers, she's finally getting to experience the world. She's very shy and soft spoken but can be very intuitive about people. She must be protected at all cost.
Vashti (Laura): Pastel goth Drow Wizard who isn't shy about speaking out her opinions. Very sassy and smart. Everyone is a lil bit in love with her. (Maybe it's just a Laura thing???)
Shaw (Ella): Human Barbarian, a little reminiscent of Yasha but with a bad Canadian accent. She protec, she attack, but most of all...she has a tiny flying black kitten that naps on her head.
Heskan (Riley): Black Dragonborn Eldritch Knight that defies all the stereotypes of Chromatic Dragonborn in this setting. Together with his pet owlbear named Archy they have joined the party in search for answers to his mysterious affliction.
If you want to give us a chance you can find us on most major podcast places or by clicking this link. We also have a twitter over here and would love to hear your suggestions and comments!
