Nobody’s Son - Mattheo Riddle

Summary - Mattheo is swimming in the Black Lake when GN!Reader sits on the dock and talks to him about astrology.

Warnings / Mentions - Reader is loosely mentioned as daughter (But this can 100% be for transgender people to read) May be slightly out of character since I never got a chance to read what Mattheo is from before it got removed. Fighting/Violence, angst to comfort fic, not proof read and if it feels too fast paced let me know so I can edit it!!!

I was in the Slytherin common room studying. Mindlessly tapping my pencil against the table in thought as I continued reading from the book in front of me.

My peace was soon disturbed. Instead of the calming fire place crackling, I could hear yelling outside of the common room.

It sounds like people are about to start fighting.

I found myself correct by that thought when the sound of someone’s fist hitting someone’s face echoed in the hallways.

I pushed my book away from me with a sigh.

People are always getting into fights.

I roll my eyes as the fighting gets louder. Standing up from my chair and tossing my pencil on the table with a small clatter. Nothing compared to the noises outside of the room.

Most people were already in bed sleeping or out partying at one of the Gryffindor dorms. So it wasn’t unexpected for it to be somewhat loud. But goddamn they are SO loud with their fighting.

I open the common room door to see a small group of students, no doubt, drunk as shit. I notice Mattheo Riddle with his fists up, protecting his face from a spare punch from no other than Draco Malfoy.

I thought they were friends?? I question with furrowed eyebrows. My face laced with confusion.

As soon as Mattheo blocks the punch from Malfoy, he changes his stance and quickly lands an uppercut on the platinum blonde Slytherin.

Other students are watching and one of them walks over to me.

Lorenzo Berkshire, is who I recognize him as. Despite being a Slytherin, I almost never hang out with anyone in my own house. The tall brunette leans against the wall next to me before speaking up.

“Why are you awake?” I raise an eyebrow at his question and tilt my head.

“I was studying.” Is all I reply with, he nods his head in understanding as we both keep our eyes on the fight. Clearly not having anything to really say in response to the fight.

“Who threw the first punch?” I ask, assuming the Riddle boy had gotten pissed at something Draco had said.

“Malfoy.” A small wave of shock floods my face before going back to normal. I bite the inside of my cheek before asking my real question.

“Why are they fighting?” I knew of who Riddle’s father was and I was sure that it had something to do with it.

Enzo mirrors my behavior, biting the inside of his mouth. Nervous and thinking before speaking.

“Draco, uh-“ Enzo starts, deciding on his words for a moment. “Draco told Mattheo that just because his father is … he who shall not be named, that he should be exactly like him. Malfoy said that it must be disappointing for him to have such a son.”

My eyes widen at Enzo’s words. The fight doesn’t last long, they never do when you’re fighting Mattheo Riddle.

Draco is on the ground, blood pouring down his nose as Mattheo looks at the damage on his own hands. Smirking in satisfaction at the sight of the Malfoy’s blood staining his hands mixed with his own from his bleeding knuckles. Crab and Goyle are helping up Draco when Mattheo grabs him by his tie.

Pulling him closer to his face, staring at him before saying something that I can’t hear from here. Riddle let’s go of Draco’s tie, letting him fall back into his goon’s arms. The last blow Mattheo delivers to Draco is spitting directly in his face, before walking away.

As soon as the fight is done, Enzo smiles awkwardly at me, waving as he trails after his friend.

I remind myself that I need to go back to studying instead of worrying about people I don’t know anything about. Because unfortunately if I don’t mind my damn business tonight, I might fail my test.

I go back into the common room only to realize that one of the things I need is not present. I forgot one of the books I needed in the library. I have my other books to continue studying but for me to keep going I need my other book.

I think about my options before rolling my eyes at myself. I pack up my stuff and exit the common room, trying to make sure no one sees me sneaking off towards the library.

I walk down the stairs, waiting for some of them to change as I look at the paintings on the walls. They’re almost all asleep except for the few that can hear the commotion from the party.

On the way to the library, I see Mattheo completely alone, walking down to the ground floor. Curiosity gets the best of me and I follow him. Enzo is no longer with him which probably means that Mattheo is still pissed. So I have to be very careful.

I follow him all the way to the black lake. Which was probably way too long to be following someone. This is probably stalking … but my thoughts are pushed aside when he pulls off his shirt and jumps in the water, not resurfacing for a couple of seconds. Once he reappears his hair is slicked back with water and the moonlight is highlighting his skin and eyes.

I don’t think I’ve ever talked to Mattheo but I know his reputation. But yet when he’s alone like this, he looks so perfect. He looks sad and broken, alone and vulnerable. But so fucking pretty.

Without realizing, I walk away from the grassy area I am standing on and walk onto the dock and sit down. I untie my shoes and pull off my socks as I dip my feet into the water. Kicking some of the water in his direction to gain his attention. He turns to face me, eyes widening at my presence but returning to his cold facade. Because somehow he didn’t know I was following him.

“Are you okay?” My voice is low, barely audible but I know he heard me. He swallows, swimming closer to the dock. He places his arms next to me and lays his head against them to prop himself up and out of the water to converse with me.

“Why are you here?” His voice is louder than mine, avoiding my question and instead focusing on his.

“I asked you something first.” I point out but he just scoffs and rolls his eyes.

“Yes, I’m fine.” He stares up at me for a moment, repeating his own question. “Why are you here?”

“I was curious.” I said truthfully. Re-adjusting my position so I’m laying on my stomach, my hand reaching below and dipping into the water. I watch as my hand creates ripples in the liquid.

“Curiosity killed the cat.” He sighs in annoyance.

“But satisfaction brought it back.” I finished, my eyes tearing away from the water and refocusing my gaze onto his eyes.

His eyes were probably the prettiest thing about him. They show so much emotion, even when he looks cold or pissed off. They show emotion in a way that captivates me. Maybe that’s just the artist in me wanting to use him as a muse.

“Do you believe in astrology?” I blurt randomly, to which his eyebrows crease together.

“What?” He lifts his head up from their resting position on his arms.

“Do you believe in astrology? The stars?” He looks up to the constellations above us, the darkened sky still lighting up his face. His slicked back hair slowly re-curling as the moisture soaks into his hair.

“No, but they look cool.” He responds, but there’s still a hint of curiosity in his eyes as he looks at the stars. His gaze wandering on each constellation.

“Do you know your sun and moon?” My voice is nonchalant and so is his as he answers. “My cancer is sun and my leo is moon.” I laugh at his sentence as he said it kind of strangely but still knowing what he meant. He scoffs at my laughter.

Before he can say anything about my laughing I change the topic back to the fight.

“Why did you fight Draco?” My eyes reconnect with his as he ponders his response.

“Didn’t Enzo tell you?” He turns his attention back to the sky, admiring the stars as I keep my eyes on him.

“He told me what Draco said. But he can’t tell me how you feel, better than you can.” I state plainly. He simply hums in acknowledgment. My eyes linger on him before moving lower to notice his apparent adams apple.

He takes a deep breath, still keeping his stare on the stars, desperately avoiding my face. “He implied I was a disappointment. A disappointment to my father.” His gaze hardened, the light in his eyes dulling but then rekindling when he hears my voice.

“Are you?”

“Am I what?”

“A disappointment.” He considers it, his body tense.

“Yes.” I smile sympathetically towards him, but he spares no glance to me. Only keeping me in his peripheral vision.

“I feel like I’m on the run.” He speaks up again. My eyes rake over him, taking in his behavior.

“Sometimes I feel like I’m in the wind with all this pressure but then I realize I’m in the water, drowning and suffocating.” I reach my hand over towards his, grabbing it and pulling his attention from the moon. His eyes flicker down to our hands as mine lays on top of his. I’m trying my best to make him feel understood but no matter how similar I may feel, situations are always different.

“I’m no body’s son.” I can see all the emotion he’s feeling despite him not verbally speaking it. His face is still cold and stoic.

“I’m no body’s daughter.” I squeeze his hand in the most reassuring way I can. His hands are cold from the water but also the cold sting of his metal rings. He huffs a breath of air in what seems to be frustration.

ʚ author’s note: these are MY personal headcanons. you don’t have to like them, but maybe you will. also- i KNOW mattheo and enzo are not even canon and that theo is hardly even mentioned but i thought it’d be cute to add them. mainly theo cause i love fanon theo (sometimes). ꜝꜞ

ron is super mega tall, taller than the twins. maybe even taller than bill.

harry is of average height but looks like a short king besides ron.

theo is basically a grumpy old man in the body of a teenage heartthrob.

blaise is just a sweetheart. fr the bestest friend.

draco can’t read in between the lines. he’s book smart but when it comes to people and social interactions he can be pretty stupid. you can’t just give him a hint, he won’t get it.

hermione actually really liked krum.

harry actually attended theo’s mother’s funeral. (they were on somewhat friendly terms after having to team up for an assignment.)

ginny likes girls. dean likes seamus. both knew.

draco, mattheo and enzo (along with crab and goyle) are more of the bullies of the group.

angelina and george are part of a tutoring program and tutor younger students. though he’s really good in potions, george only does it to spend time with her.

ron secretly tries to read muggle books to impress hermione.

mattheo is just plain rude with anger issues. he pretty much hates everyone.

theo is just more of an introvert so he doesn’t really feel the need to talk to everyone, let alone bully them.

blaise is not very smart but he really tries his best and studies a lot. he also reminds (or forces) the others to study as well.

in her firsts years at hogwarts, pansy was mostly a bitch and a bully (to impress malfoy), but blaise became a good influence and she learned to mind her own business a bit more.

ron had ALWAYS had a crush on hermione. he just didn’t want to.

neville had a secret girlfriend around year 3-4 and they’d always meet in the herbology greenhouse.

oliver suffers from insomnia which sometimes leads to him being rude during morning practices and even having anger outbursts towards his last hogwarts years.

fred is really really good with kids while george just doesn’t really know what to do with them.

cedric has dyslexia and really finds it difficult and discouraging to read and study. cho and harry are one of the few who know and help him with homework.

luna randomly takes walks in the forbidden forest. she finds it peaceful.

mattheo is naturally really smart. he never studies and always gets good grades. he’s kind of a dick about it.

seamus has ADHD and had a mild ODD as a child

cho is extremely interested in politics and even founded a secret debate club at hogwarts.

dean is the only one who knows about seamus’ breakdowns and the only one who truly knows how to help him.

angelina is really popular. there is nothing to hate about her. she is beautiful and kind and especially good at quidditch.

krum was really bummed out to leave hogwarts. he was actually liking it there. mainly the people. mainly hermione. just hermione tbh.

Secret Boss

Bleached Infinity

Location of Boss battle: A colorless Octo Valley, the place where the storymode of splatoon 1 took place.

Normally you’d be 8 but, now you’re 3 as you now play as Kamau the captain of the new new squidbeak splatoon wearing a colorless but, tweaked version of his old agent uniform but, still bared his captain hat and main weapon now tasked with the objective to take down 8 taken over by bleached coral sticking out the side of her head.

The boss battle has 5 phases against 8 with her using two of the six maxed out power chips in each phase. Which includes Power, Range, Mobility, Drone , Support & Lucky.

During the fifth phase 8 is slower since she has progressively gotten tired out trying to use different chip combinations to help. The end of the fight finally getting the coral off her face though it left a mark it was a victory.

Extra Fun Fact!- Since the boss battle takes place in the digital version of octo valley after every phase the background always changed to a different area when 8 super jumps to the boss kettle of that respective area

And when you finally defeat her it goes back to the Octo Valley. The music of the boss fight is probably like distorted remixes of the splat 1 bosses, boss music

A Fitting Name

Summary: Eda and Enzo are debating names for the still unnamed baby

Word count: 875

Warnings: none really, this is a pretty soft, tame chapter.

A/N: it's a shorter one, I was adding more but that would fit better in another chapter.

"How about Stinky?" Eda stirred the eggs she was cooking with a fork.

"Hey! He's not stinky!" Enzo protested.

"Not anymore." Eda snorted.

Enzo huffed and turned their nose up at her. Eda got back to making breakfast while thinking of names.

"What about Rex?" She suggested.

"Nah, Peanut?" That was the fifth time Enzo suggested food as a name.

"Enzo, you can't name him after food." She told them.

"I'm not-"

"Peanut is the fifth food you've suggested." She pointed out.

Enzo frowned and tugged at the light green t-shirt she'd given them the other day. The clothes he came with were very dirty and smelly, a good wash or two was necessary.

"I'm almost done with breakfast." She told them.

Enzo perked up hearing that. They were such a cute and funny kid.

Speaking of cute and funny, the still unnamed baby demon scampered in at the smell of food. He stopped by a chair and made little squeaks, trying to jump up. Enzo leaned over, scooped him up and put him in his high chair.

Eda plated up the scrambled griffin eggs and sausages for everyone, thoroughly dicing the baby's food so he didn't choke when he inhaled his food, and set them out, then refilled the blood orange juice Enzo was drinking. She'd hardly sat down by the time the baby was already hovering over his food.

Little glutton. She smirked.

"Pig?" She suggested jokingly.

"He's not a pig, he's a-" Enzo broke off as their brother made a snort that sounded incredibly similar to a pig snort.

"I think he's a little piggy." Eda snorted.

"Hmm.... Maybe..." Enzo leaned on their elbows.

"We can get names later, we'll think better with full stomachs." Eda said around a forkful of egg.

Enzo nodded and started eating. The baby was done already and begging for more, he was a bottomless pit since he recovered. One of the tough parts of not knowing what he was was not knowing the proper amount of food to feed him. She didn't want to be feeding him until he couldn't eat anymore every meal but she didn't want to under feed him. At least he understood that food was served at a certain time, he'd always beg for more when they were eating.

Eda spelled a crab apple sauce over to him and watched, chuckling, as he tore into it and licked up everything inside.

"Silkie cause he's really soft when he's brushed." Enzo suggested.

"But he's crusty when he's not brushed." Eda countered.

Enzo flopped onto the couch with a dramatic sigh and sat upside down. Eda leaned against the hallway frame and watched them watch their brother. He was building more of those little statues. It was so cute with him trotting around with trash to build with and being extremely selective of what he used.

"I dunno what Dad was gonna call him but I think it should be something that just fits, him." Enzo gestured to him then flailed his arms. "I dunno, I want him to like it." Enzo sighed.

Eda's attention was caught by the baby stumbling as he put the head on a statue. He stood up proudly and made a squeak, he looked like a little king. Enzo giggled with that sorta distant look on their face for a moment.

"Well look at that, a king amongst his subjects." Eda chuckled.

He turned to her and blinked.

"k-King!" He squeaked.

Eda stared as Enzo almost fell off the couch in their hurry to get up. Enzo glanced at her then the baby and back.

"King?" Enzo tried.

"King! King! King!" The baby cheered with a little bounce.

"I think he likes it." Eda said as she went to give him a head scratch.

"Do you like that, King?" Enzo asked, scratching under his chin.

"King!" He squeaked again.

"King it is then." Eda claimed.

"Heh, yeah, King's a good name." The distant look was back.

"I still think Hooty The Second is a better name!" Hooty shouted, opening a window for once instead of breaking it.

"I already told you we aren't naming him after you!" Eda shouted back.

"King! King! King! King! King!" The newly named King trounced around, happily shouting his name.

"Yeah, we've got a King here." Eda snorted as he jumped and leapt into Enzo's arms.

A light bulb of an idea went off in her head. Most kids liked stories, maybe she could come up with some that would entertain the feisty little guy for a bit. She sat down in front of the pair.

"Do you wanna know what else kings do?" She asked.

King nodded eagerly, almost falling back into Enzo in his excitement.

"Kings command powerful armies and eat delicious feasts for every meal. They fight in glorious battles and lay waste to their enemies."

That look on King's face as he listened to the stories she told, fuck it was so cute. Enzo looked much happier too, she hadn't really seen them with such a happy smile since they left their island.

The pair of happy kids was really an adorable sight.

For the AU where Abbie sticks around to help Dante raise Nero:

A young Nero (like, 8 or 10) discovering Agni and Rudra and making friends with them, clinging to them like teddy bears. I don't think he'd mind if they talked while he was kicking demon ass, just so long as they didn't do it in public. And they'd make good swords for the boy! Not his usual greatsword (Dante lets him train with Rebellion and Force Edge, until the events of Mallet Island, in which case Nero gets his own greatsword from the Order in Fortuna), but still good, and we all know Nero is good with fire. Dante probably gives him Ifrit, too.

Dante makes sure Agni and Rudra don't do anything to hurt Nero, on purpose or otherwise. The "otherwise" bit takes some flexibility, since Agni and Rudra don't really "get" humans/human society. This means they find Nero's homework very interesting, and sometimes Nero will bounce ideas off of them. Or just watch TV with them (I headcanon him as a TMNT fan), or read books to them. Its kinda sweet.

Other different things:

-Abbie is in charge of finances, which means Dante takes more mercenary jobs, bitch tho Dante might. Abbie tries to have Morrison and Enzo make sure its just bodyguard work, no assassinations or unnecessary killings. Dante needs to take care of Nero, and kids are expensive, so he does it anyway, even if he doesn't like it.

-Abbie also does the cleaning. And the, as she sees it, "easy stuff". Filing, planning appointments, getting groceries, cooking, picking Nero up and dropping him off at places. Because all that is just paperwork and running around- that's easy. Actually parenting is harder. And Dante is better at it with Nero than she is.

-Nero has a few new moves: Summoned Swords, like the ones Vergil uses, but also a stunning move, where Nero basically summons a ball of light and sound and concussive force to stun and confuse opponents. He can also control his Summoned Swords to go behind an enemy and then attack them from behind. Get inside their guard, kind of thing. He got the idea from Abbie telling him how to (have a better chance of) win(ning) at those dart games at carnivals: You throw the dart up at an angle, so that way it has more force when it hits the balloon. It still might not work, since carnival games are rigged all to shit, and Abbie would be very upfront with Nero and Dante about that. In that case, just go ahead and cheat/use demonic strength to throw the darts or whatever better than you would normally be able to. Abbie doesn't really see it as cheating, since the games are rigged in the first place.

-Nevan is in no way allowed around Nero, ever. Abbie threatened to stick Nevan in a trash can full of Holy Water and then stick said trash can in a walk-in freezer, encasing Nevan in Holy Ice if Nevan ever tried anything. Not that Dante would ever let her, but still.

-Assuming Dante and Nero move to Fortuna, Abbie would go with them and work as a bookshop keeper there, or a librarian. She basically gave up on going to college to learn devil hunting and help Dante protect/raise Nero. I'm not sure if Dante would move to Fortuna- the whole Order of the Sword thing makes his skin... not exactly crawl, but itch. All that worshipping of Sparda is just bizarre to him. And he doesn't want Nero getting a big head about his heritage. Yeah, Sparda was a great guy, and the power Nero inherited is immense, but still. Dante doesn't want Nero to end up being a dick about it. That, and the whole town is too much of a crab bucket for Dante yo really like living in. Abbie would probably hate it, too, but with the intent of trying to convince the crabs to get out of the bucket, as it were. Especially anyone Nero made friends with, like Kyrie or Credo.

If they don't move to Fortuna and Abbie still tries to stick around Dante to help out with Nero, I could see her, Dante, and Nero taking a trip to Fortuna when Nero is about 15 or so. Just so Nero can see the city, and know about the Order of the Sword. Dante hates the place, and none of them really trust the Order of the Sword, but Nero meets Kyrie there, and immediately becomes friends with her, so they all tolerate it. Abbie tries to get Kyrie out of Fortuna on trips with Nero. Something fun, like Nero taking Kyrie to a carnival and showing her around, or to Dumary Island to meet Lucia, or even just letting Kyrie hang out with Nero at Devil May Cry. Maybe Trish, Lady, and Patty could take her out for a girl's night out or something. God knows the girl could use it. Just. Something to try and show Kyrie that life outside her little cult town is actually fun and safe and worth living in, that she has other options if she wants to leave the Order. Things like that.

I'd write the same stuff for Credo, because I could see Abbie trying to get him out, too, given that he's Kyrie's older brother and all, I just don't know what age Credo is in DMC4, or how much older he was than Kyrie. So I'm not really sure what to do with him.

-Trying to figure out a way for Modius and Baul to still be alive, just because I could see Abbie trying to talk them all down from having a big fight to the death. I could also see Abbie putting a bullet in Sid's head the second she noticed Sid snooping around Dante and trying to use him for whatever weird shit Sid was doing that week. Because Abbie's not merciful as Dante. Especially if Sid threatens Nero. She's more... ruthless.

Which, y'know. Is kinda a big red flag.

The salty breeze whipped through my hair, the rhythmic crash of waves against the shore a constant lullaby. Boracay was a kaleidoscope of colors - the turquoise water, the pristine white sand, the vibrant flora that lined the beach. But for 10-year-old Babe Bayola, the most captivating sight was the man building a sandcastle with my little brother, Enzo.

His name was Rafael. Tanned and with a mop of unruly black hair, he was a year older than me, the son of our family friends. We spent the entire vacation inseparable, constructing elaborate sandcastles, chasing hermit crabs along the shore, and giggling as we buried each other in the warm sand. It was a childhood friendship, innocent and pure, but it sparked a flame within me, a tiny ember that flickered to life every time our families vacationed together.

Years flew by in a flurry of school plays, awkward teenage phases, and stolen glances across crowded rooms. Rafael, ever the athlete, excelled in basketball, his name synonymous with every victory our school team achieved. I, on the other hand, found my passion in fashion. My room became a haven of fabrics, sketches, and discarded patterns. I dreamt of becoming a designer, of dressing women in clothes that made them feel powerful and beautiful.

One summer, the ember within me flared into a raging inferno. We were both 18, on the cusp of adulthood. Our families rented a beach house in Batangas, a place that seemed to exist outside of time. One starlit night, a shared bonfire crackled between us, casting flickering shadows on our faces. We talked for hours, about dreams and fears, hopes and aspirations. As the fire died down to embers, Rafael took my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine. We leaned in, and our first kiss was a revelation, a collision of unspoken emotions held captive for years.

The following years were a whirlwind of stolen moments, late-night phone calls, and furtive glances across crowded college hallways. Rafael, ever the charmer, pursued basketball professionally, his name lighting up the national leagues. I, fueled by love and ambition, launched my own fashion line, "Babe." My designs, a fusion of elegance and comfort, resonated with women, and my brand took off.

Distance, however, tested the strength of our bond. Rafael's grueling schedule kept him on the road, while my burgeoning business demanded my constant attention. We snatched moments of happiness whenever we could, stolen weekends and late-night video calls. Yet, a silent fear gnawed at me - could our love survive the relentless pursuit of our dreams?

The turning point came on the eve of my biggest fashion show. The pressure was immense, and self-doubt gnawed at me. As I sat backstage, overwhelmed by the chaos, a familiar hand squeezed mine. It was Rafael, his presence a balm to my anxieties. He whispered words of encouragement, his unwavering belief in me a source of immense strength. That night, the show was a triumph. The models glided down the runway, my creations coming alive under the spotlight. But the most rewarding moment was seeing Rafael in the front row, his eyes filled with pride and love.

In the years that followed, our love story unfolded like a well-crafted garment, beautifully woven with threads of success, challenges, and unwavering commitment. Rafael retired from basketball, his fame transitioning into a successful sports apparel brand. My fashion line flourished, gracing the wardrobes of celebrities and socialites alike. We built a life together, a testament to the enduring power of our childhood connection.

Today, as I stand on the balcony of our beachfront home in Boracay, the same place where it all began, I glance at Rafael, his hair now streaked with silver, but his eyes still holding the same warmth from our youth. We've weathered storms, celebrated victories, and grown together. And as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, I know that our love story, like the tide, will ebb and flow, forever drawn to the shore of each other's hearts.

“Why aren’t we allowed dogs in hogwarts?” Pansy huffed as she caught up with you in the halls

“Do I look like dumbledore?” You laughed before catching her glare

“You and me are seriously going to fight one day y/n/n

“I can’t wait” You smiled before increasing your pace to make it to potions which you were already late too

you got to the door and opened it slightly. Your nose wrinkled at the familiar scent but you couldn’t place where You had smelt it before.

“Smells nice in here” you hummed as you snuck to your seat next to Draco and blaise before slughorn noticed.

“Oh really what does it smell like?” Blaise smirked before he got cut off by the professor

“Ah miss y/l/n nice of you to finally join us.” He said taking a look in blaise and dracos cauldron “Ah it seems you two have brewed the amortentia correctly, 10 points to slytherin”

realising what blaise was trying to do moments before you kicked his shin earning a groan from him “dumbass”

“Sorry I’m late sir I was walking a first year to her lesson” You lied with a sweet smile on your lips.

“No worries miss l/n how about you work with miss greengrass” the old man suggested

You nodded before making your way over to the blonde

“hey y/n/n” she smiled before turning her full attention to you “y/n who do you smell in the amortentia? I smelt liquorice snaps, strong cologne and fire but I’m not sure who it could be”

You smirked at the obliviousness of the blonde who had been pining over blaise since second year

You pulled the cauldron closer to you as you leant over to smell the bubbling pink liquid. “Um I’ve smelt this before but I’m not sure where, sandalwood, broom polish and cigarettes?”

You watched as a amusing smirk found it’s way on daphnes lips before she composed herself “Hm that’s weird, let’s make a bet…”

You turned to face her with your eyebrows raised “and what bet would that be?”

“Let’s see, whoever figures out who they smelt first gets ten galleons from the other person”

“How long do we have?” You asked

“Two days”

“Deal” you hummed before writing down those scents on a piece of parchment

“What the f- Theo?!” You calmed down at the sight of the brunette before seeing daphnes smirk as she rushed out of the room.

“THEODORE NOTT YOU ANNOYING GIT IM BEING SERIOUS LET ME DOWN RIGHT NOW I NEED TO WIN MY BET”

You felt yourself being lowered as the boy just laughed

“And what bet would that be love?”

“I need to figure out who I smelt in the amortentia”

“Who did you smell?” He coughed

“Well I don’t know smartass that’s why I’m trying to figure it out”

“I can help you, but later, I have quidditch practise now” he frowned

“Oh my god theo your a genius, broom polish and quidditch, I’ll be coming to the practise with you” you beamed

“What about pucey? I mean he looks like someone you would like” Pansy suggested

“No remember that party last year when he refused to come because there where people smoking.”

You looked down into the quidditch pitch and saw theo who gave you a wave. You waved back and Pansy gasped

“OH MY GOODNESS”

“Pans what is it?” You asked

“N-nothing I have to go water my bed- I mean make my bed goodluck”

-that was weird- you thought as she tripped over many stairs to go make her bed.
