Thoughts on FAM 4X10

My brain is still mush after that final episode but I've tried to put together my feelings.

The asteroid heist is something big and bold that only a show like FAM can do, and even if the mechanics of that get a little bit confusing, it's all rooted in these characters, their histories, their emotions, their convictions.

I went from welling up to full blown tears by the end of the episode. Margo's sacrifice and the Dani fake out, I was prepared to say goodbye so her happy ending got me and I can't really form coherent thoughts straight off the back of it but I'll try.

This is notably (and correct if I'm wrong) the first finale where no one dies. Not only that with the influx of refugees there are more people on Mars at the end than there were at the start. And importantly Dani survives, our symbol of hope, so even if we give into our worse impulses there's still the opportunity for us to grow. It's a wonderful end to a great season.

In sense of the Rookie timeline, how much time do you think has passed between 4x01 ( the almost kiss) and Chenford-fam-dreams-came-true episode of 4x22... About 6-odd months?

Hi!

I would say not more than 9 months. Reason being, in one of Chris’s first episodes, Lucy implied she was on the job for a year and a half in 4x10 (that includes the rookie program).

1x01-3x09 was 13 months (that’s how long the FTO program is). Ignore the pacing of 1x01-3x09, it’s useless and they sped it up after that. 3x10-4x10 (15 episode span) where she mentioned that is 5 months by default to get us to a year and a half on the job (18 months) as Lucy stated in 4x10. I’d say another 6 months for 4x11-4x22 since it’s about the same number of episodes to get to 2 years total. As such, not more than 9 months from 4x01-4x22 in my opinion.

4x05 was around Halloween, which means that the end of 4x01 was around fall in my opinion since we had that time jump at the end. If we use September as a starting point (which would track with the 4x05 Halloween timing as well as the 4x08-4x09 Christmas timing), 9 months would be May.

As much as I hate to say it, and hate all the drama - I think the "Carina going to Italy storyline" is a great plot. They are living in the middle of a pandemic and they´ve had storylines of society issues in the US such as BLM ++. The immigration status during a pandemic is highly relevant as they also mentioned it in Greys. Maybe they do the whole Calzona storyline and Carina leaves by herself. BUT I think Marina is stronger, and I think Maya will patiently wait for her while she´s in Italy.

Ah, you do have a point there, although there are of course a myriad of issues with US immigration. The fact that the system is so messed up during a pandemic that a doctor can’t stay is one thing, but it’s also true that in normal circumstances an Italian doctor, or just an Italian, would usually not have the issues a great many other people would. 

But still, I’m not opposed to the story itself or any messaging that comes from it, I’m just wary it may be the device used to bring in long-term drama.

MacGyver 5x03-Review

MacRiley fam, this will be my last MacGyver review. Thanks for the support and the great feedback on my reviews so far. You guys are awesome! But i’m taking a looong break from this show. I’ll be watching the Jack episode and if we get a Bozer, Matty or Riley centric i’ll tune in to watch. But my passion and excitement for this show is mostly over now.

I have so many things to say about 5x03 but if i start to express all my feelings i’m afraid i might break Tumblr. LOL 

This probably wouldn’t feel like a proper review coz i’m gonna focus on the RETCON that the writers pulled out of their asses to keep MacDesi together.

Ok so for people who are not familiar with the word “retcon”; it means changing an aspect of a fictional work by introducing a piece of new information, typically used to facilitate a dramatic plot shift or account for an inconsistency.

The writers usually pull a retcon, when one aspect of an already canon plot isn’t working well. You can call it a “fix-it” method.

In terms of MacDesi, they retconned some moments from season 4 that defined this relationship. I think the new showrunner and the writers team realized that MacDesi has become quite “toxic” during season 4. But because the additional episodes kept them together, they needed to at least fix this relationship.

From their POV it’s understandable to a degree. But from a viewers POV it’s total BS. Because what we watched in season 4, can’t be changed.

We remember the unhealthy dynamic between them, we remember the lack of trust between them, we remember how incompatible they were, we remember how they couldn’t communicate with each other, we remember Mac not letting her in emotionally, not opening up to her at all, we remember how much they BOTH hurt each other, we remember Mac’s own words on their relationship.

Most importantly we still remember 4x12. How quickly Desi turned her back on him, how she brought his mothers and aunts names into their ugly fight, how Mac said he’d say anything to get her off his back, we remember how she and Russ left Mac no choice but to improvise a plan to save lives, we remember Riley risking everything to protect him and be there for him. WE REMEMBER.

So when you dismiss all of that and re-write MacDesi as if they’re this great couple, it’s not going to work for people. And when you tease MacRiley the whole week with promos, exclusive pictures, articles, SM promotion; promising progress between Mac and Riley only to walk over everything that made them special, you get a lot of NEGATIVE reaction from the fans. With good reason.

Episode started with Mac and Riley on a picnic mission. The scene was amazing in every sense. The colors, lighting, the conversation between them, the almost kiss, the way Mac held Riley and they lied down for a while, the smug smile on his face and the looks he gave to Riley were all awesome! The car chase was super fun too!

But then everything went down the toilet. Coz in the next scene Mac was complaining to Bozer about how Desi wasn’t spending time with him and avoiding his date attempts. In this scene they retconned Bozer too. For the first time, Bozer encouraged Mac to go ask Desi out and fix their relationship.

Normally Bozer would never do such a thing. Why? Bcoz he’s been against a romantic relationship between them ever since Desi first showed up in 3x14. Bozer thought it was a bad idea from the start, called them Mesi (messy), he didn’t think it was a good idea to bring Desi back on the team in 4x01, coz MD break up was NUCLEAR. So up until 5x03 Bozer was never on Team MacDesi. Lets also remember this exchange between them:

In 4x12 when Bozer was trying to save Mac and Riley’s lives, he turns to Desi... 

Bozer: Desi, back me up here.

Desi: Sometimes we need to sacrifice the things we love for the greater good.

So after 4x12, one would only expect that his thoughts on MD would get stronger. But guess what? Bozer is now supporting MD. Just like that. I don’t buy it writers, sorry.

Back to the scene… Mac wants to go on a date with Desi. And he is so desperate about it. We had to witness one of the most awkward scenes between them. Not only that but we had to sit through Riley throwing smiles at MD, saying her feelings for Mac was just Codex adrenaline. Riley, who couldn’t watch any interaction between MD, is now totally cool with them!

And lets just say that Riley was pretending she’s over Mac, that she lied to Bozer bcoz she’s trying to move on. We already watched her having feelings for Mac, hiding those feelings and pining for him. Her one-sided love can’t drive the plot anymore. 

Besides she didn’t need to give her blessings to MD. It was an overkill. I really hated the scene where she says “Don’t screw up this time” to Mac…That was totally out of character for Riley.  

Riley who reminded Desi that Russ & her were gonna nuke them,

Riley who said she went after Mac coz she trusted him &asked Desi "Why didn't you?",

Riley who risked it all to protect Mac, tells Mac not to screw it up with Desi.

By saying those words, Riley makes it known that Mac was the one screwing up his rl with Desi. Desi had no fault. Once again the writers used my favorite character to prop my least favorite character. Shame on you!

I’m not gonna talk about every MacDesi scene in this episode. But let me just say that the writers turned Mac into a desperate, begging, lovesick puppy. He asked Desi for a date like 5 times, apologized twice. Kissed her out of the blue. Bcoz lets face it, that scene was so unnecessary. Nobody was onto them, the police car was passing by slowly and if the police were really suspicious, why would they look at the couple kissing instead of checking who’s in the car? So stupid. Oh and while they were kissing for minutes with great lighting and all, General Ma escaped. Mac acting this stupid, is not something we are used to see. But what you gonna do? I guess love is not only blind but also destroyes brain cells in the process.

Anyway, Mac literally begging Desi to go on a date with him was agonizing to watch. Every time he offers a new dating idea, Desi’s answer is NAH. Back in the picnic scene she made it sound like she wanted to date Mac, but of course she needs to make him suffer first!

I only like to point out the scene where Mac –finally- opened up to Desi about the fishing trip he and his father went together. This story is obviously precious to him. He called it a happy memory. Clearly he misses his father, still mourning for his loss. So he shared his happy memory and asked if she would like to go fishing with him. Desi’s answer? “Not gonna go fishing with you as our first date!” You can read the dissapointment on his face. And my heart breaks for Mac but this kind of treatment is something he’s asking for.

He is desperate to get Desi back. The fact that they are the worst match ever, doesn’t change sh*t. Mac wants Desi and he loves Desi for god knows why.

Btw- the whole “lets blame only Mac for Codex and ignore Desi’s wrongdoings” plot is disgusting. Yes, Mac suffocating Desi and Russ to escape Phoenix with Scarlett was wrong. Yes he hurt her, yes in a sense he betrayed her. AND HE APOLOGIZED. But what about Desi? What about her betrayel? 

First they made Riley apologize to Desi for following Mac and now they made Mac apologize… But no apologies from Desi. The writers are obviously worshipping Desi and they’re ready to sacrifice every character to make her look “perfect”. I’m sorry but i’m not here to watch the Desi show, or more MacDesi nonsense.

Mac said Desi is the woman he loves… but not only that, she is also the woman who guided him back. And the RETCON is really strong with this scene.

Lets remember…

In 4x08 Mac loses his father, at the end of the episode Desi wants to go with Mac but Mac stops her, telling he’d see her tomorrow.

In 4x09 Desi says he can share his burden with her, Mac’s not interested, he says what he needs is to stop Codex.

In 4x10 Mac makes apocalypse kits for Riley and Desi. Desi’s so happy she got a crossbow and didn’t think those kits were a bad sign. But Riley notices that Mac is not in a good place, he needed help and support. Riley shares her concerns about Mac with Desi. She probably thinks it’s not up to her to be the one doing that when Desi is the girlfriend. So after her conversation with Riley, Desi makes soup and gives Mac a compass. Saying he’s not lost (he clearly was tho). She askes if everything’s ok, he looks different but Mac says, he’s just tired.

In 4x12 Mac is lying in bed, lost in his own mind, he gets up, leaves the compass on her side of the nightstand… On the run he ignores Desi’s calls.

Then things get really ugly for MacDesi. Desi says “You are so drunk on somescrewed-up cocktail of your mom, your aunt, Codex science...”… She says “You're compromised”…  Mac was just trying to get Scarlett on their side to stop Codex but Desi couldn’t see it. She thought Mac was losing it!

And then Desi sides with Russ and turns her back on Mac. Russ dismisses Mac from the Codex mission. Mac's forced to improvise. Bcoz he wants to stop Codex without bloodshed.

So as you can see they completely re-wrote the events of 4x12 to fix MD.

Desi says: “I had front-row seats to the war that raged in you last year, and I can't do that again. Lose you.”

She was ready to sacrifice him for the greater good. But yeah, sure! Why not.

Mac says: “Des, I know it looked like I was lost, but you were there the whole time, guiding me back home.”

THE WHOLE TIME.

In 3 times she “tried” to be there for him, Mac didn't let her in emotionally but lets just say that she brought him back to his senses.

Lets just say that the compass he left on her side of the nightstand represents that it guided him back. (btw lets also ignore that the compass Mac gave Desi back was a different one. Who knows, maybe he threw it in the garbage during the pandemic and bought a new one)

Lets just forget who really brought him back. Lets just ignore what Riley did for Mac. How she saved him, how she was the one who risked everything for Mac. How she was the one there by his side when they were facing a missile.

Only if we forget and retcon history we can all buy MacDesi. 

But i can’t… I can’t forget, i’m not ok with a retconned half-ass love story that they want to sell with MD. I can’t sit through the episodes and keep watching the “flawless Desi” show.

This show isn’t entertaining to me anymore. I can’t recognize Mac, i’m pissed that my fav characters are being used as tools to prop Desi.

One last thing before i say my final goodbyes:

The lighting in this episode was so weird. In almost every scene, heavy light effects distracted me. Usually they use it when they show you a flashback, a dream or a hallucination to seperate the real-time scenes from others. But this episode had them from the start to the end. So i don’t know what to make of this.

Some of the dialogues had subtexts…

Leland to Russ: Now, I know you don't care about much in this world, but even the best of us can be blinded by those we love.

General Ma to Mac: I was blinded by him (Leland) once. I-I won't be blinded again.

Mac: Many things blind us. Anger, betrayal, even love. But sometimes, a little blindness can work to your advantage. You can create a fog that will cause the world around you to disappear.

Normally i would dive deep into the subtextland. But i don’t think the writers were trying to give some deep message or anything. 

I do believe that Mac is totally blinded by his “idea��� of love… But i’m done waiting for him to open his eyes. The Mac i watched in this episode is not My Mac.

Writers made their choice. They made Mac's feelings crystal clear. He's all about Desi. At this point, Desi breaking up with him would mean nothing to me. Just like Riley still having feelings for Mac means nothing anymore.

Official accounts tweeting “There’s more to come for MacRiley” means nothing to me anymore.

Noone wants a rebound plot but unfortunately it's the only possibility they left to MacRiley. My ship is tainted forever. 

And as a Riley stan, i don’t want this Mac with my girl. She deserves better.

My Favourite Doctor Who Episodes (Series 4)

I’m doing a full Doctor Who rewatch right now and I thought I’d make a list of my favourite episodes from each Series (and throw in some honourable mentions and general thoughts too). This just a bit of fun, feel free to let me know if you agree/disagree! The faves aren’t ranked, they’re just in Series order.

There’s only 3 episodes from this Series that aren’t on this list and even them I really loved. I tried to narrow it down but Series 4 is just full of bangers, what can I say.

Series Four Favourites

4x01 Partners in Crime - Donna and the Doctor doing the same things but never bumping into each other. The window miming, incredible. “You just want to mate?!” Wilf! The Rose reveal at the end gets me so pumped even if I have had enough of Rose at this point. Wilf seeing Donna in the TARDIS at the end made me kind of emotional ngl.

4x02 Fire in Pompeii - “Donna. Human. No.” Not Amy. Not Twelve. Love the Doctor and his companions arguing. Donna talking Latin to someone. “Don’t get clever in Latin.” Don’t have much to say really.. I just really love this episode. 

4x04/05 The Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky - Martha and Donna getting along. “Great, big, outer space dunce.” Wilf! “You’ve got three fingers.” “Oh, yeah.” Donna saying about the Doctor turning his companions into soldiers. “If you’re calling him dad then you must be getting over him.”

4x08/09 Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead - First time seeing River. Pretty boy. The Doctor thinking he’d lost Donna. The Doctor thinking River was gone but then figuring out how to save her kind of. I love River. I think that black veil woman was supposed to have a scary face but it just looked funny.

4x10 Midnight - One of my fave Doctor Who episodes ever even though it’s really frustrating to watch because most of the passengers are idiots. “It’s a date. Well, not a date. Oh, you know what I mean. Oh, get off.” The Doctor not being great at getting people on his side and coming across as a dick head. Genuinely a pretty scary episode.

4x12/13 The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End - The whole fam back together again. I’m gonna cry. I full on hated Rose’s vibe in these episodes but her ending still gets me every time. Tentoo! Martha being like “omg you found her” was so sweet.I don’t really have anything else specific to say, there was a lot going on and I loved it all except Rose’s vibe.

The End of Time Part 1 & 2 - Queen Bess. I prefer this version of the Master to the one in Series 2. All of the Doctor and the Master’s interactions are just *chef’s kiss* Wilf! Donna! King of the Wasteland. Shimmer. The way Ten was basically like, “Lol Wilf you literally aren’t important why should I die to save you” made me so angry like just stfu and save him you dick. Him regenerating made me sad but also I got so excited when I saw Eleven for the first time. “I’m a girl?!”

Series Four Honourable Mentions

4x03 Planet of the Ood - Donna taking the thing the Ood was holding and talking into it. People thinking Ten and Donna are married and their reaction being that of disgust will forever be funny. That guy turning into an Ood was gross.

4x06 The Doctor’s Daughter - The Doctor not accepting Jenny as his daughter and then being fucked up when she died. Donna and Jenny’s relationship. Martha and her Hath friend. Could be a fave but whenever I watch it I can’t stop thinking about how David and Georgia are married in real life and Ten and Jenny have a bit of a weird vibe (which I may just be imagining but still).

4x07 The Unicorn and the Wasp - The Doctor and Donna are incredible in this ep. Plucky young girl. “I’ll pluck you in a minute.” Pip pip. The salt drama. All the moments they said something that Agatha hadn’t done yet and they’d be like oops. Donna being like “Copyright Donna Noble.” Would be a fave but I can’t decide if I love the wasp thing or just think its shit. And the murder mystery vibe kind of made me cringe a bit.

The Waters of Mars - When this ep first aired I told my mum to turn it off because it scared the shit out of me but now i really like it.  “Time Lord Victorious.” All right mate calm down.  As much as I hate Ten’s ego in this ep, it is really cool to watch.

General Thoughts

- Most of the time Ten just has the general Doctor ego that every Doctor has but there are some times where Ten’s ego really jumps out and I really don’t like him for it. When the woman shot herself at the end of The Waters of Mars and he felt bad I was like good, you should feel bad. The Time Lord ego was really present with Ten. 

- Sometimes I think the main reason I love Ten is because of his companions. His dynamic with Martha and Donna really are what bring him up for me. And his dynamic with Rose too but I prefer NinexRose over TenxRose so..

- Even though Turn Left isn’t on my fave list, I did love it. There is just something about it that makes me feel a bit anxious and weird so even though I enjoy it when I watch it, I’m also on edge. I also hate Rose’s mysterious vibe in this episode as well. It winds me up. 

- Also, as much as his ego annoys me, I do get it to a degree which I why I put up with it. I just think he is a bit dramatic.

- Donna and the Doctor are one of my favourite Doctor/Companion duos. I love them together so much. I wish her arc didn’t end the way it did because i’d love for the Doctor to meet her again. But she is pretty much the only companion where that isn’t possible.

- Donna missing every major alien thing that happens is really funny to me, even though towards the end it gets kinda sad.

DAY ONE [nov 4]

- I made a protein shake out of some nasty ass protein powder and cookie butter protein powder. Yuck. It racked up 280 calories and 44 grams of protein though so ya know

- FOR LUNCH I ate some honey sesame chicken and rice bb. That’s 520 calories total and 40 grams of protein ya-yee.

- NOW DINNER. I ate some steak and rice. IDK it was nasty but I ate it. 572 calories and 30 grams of protein. THAT PUTS US at 1592 calories and 120 grams of protein, ya hear?

DAY TWO [nov 5]

- BREAKY: frosted oatmeal pop tart thing i stole from instagram lmao. It was aight and 585 calories and 38 grams of protein. woo

- LOONCH: hot dogs and fries <3 that’s 669 calories and 50 grams of protein!

- DINZ: chicken and rice lmao. 24 grams of protein. 572 calories. we goin. T H A T P U T S U S A T: 1796 calories and 118 grams of protein wassup

DAY THREE [nov 6]

- BREAKY: pop tarts from an instagram looooool. 522 calories and 33 grams of protein leggo

- LOUNCH: hot dogs and fries again i’m basic. that’s 661 calories-ish and 46 grams of protein

- DINNAH: i got a chipotle burrito bowl. That’s 450 calories and 37 grams of protein. That puts me at 1633 calories and 116 grams of protein.

DAY FOUR [nov 7]

- it was fun fabulous day thursday (: didn’t log food today because i don’t track every day for the sake of my sanity

DAY FIVE [nov 8]

- 2 chipotle burrito bowls to make up for protein losses!!! this 630 calories each and 69 grams of protein each (i doubled chicken!!) This puts us at a total of 1260 calories and around 140 grams of protein... w i l d

- i then ate a burger and fries with friends bc moderation. probably about 600 calories total and minimal protein bc i mostly ate fries (: let’s round me to 160 grams protein and 1860 calories for da day

DAY SIX [nov 9]

- this is today(: i had a breakfast of bacon, 2 eggs, and a potato. This comes in at 501 calories and 31.3 grams of protein!

- lunch: burrito bowl! 630 calories and 69 grams of protein ya-yee

-dinaz: protein pop tarts! 522 calories and 33g of protein. we totalin in at 1653 calories and 133.3 grams of protein!!!

Day #3

Today was absolutely amazing- I managed to have time this morning for both a good workout and a somewhat healthy breakfast! Early morning once again tried to defeat me, but I think I’ll get the hang of them eventually, once I learn how to go to bed at a decent hour. I think in about another week I’ll have mastered the art of working out before classes. All about that balance, right?

On a different note, muscle soreness has finally hit, and by god, it hit Hard. Walking down the stairs? Hello, strange jelly legs. Lifting things? Not gonna happen today, pal. I’ve decided to take it as a good thing though. I figure if Korra had to go through 3 years of being out of it but came back stronger, then this just puts me a little closer to being like her. 

As of the workout for today, I did:

- 5 min yoga warm up 

- 2 1min planks

- 2x30 spider-man push ups

- 5x10 full squats (while holding 20lb weight)

- 4x10 incline rows

- 4x15 lunges

- 4x4 chair dips

- 4x25 bike crunches 

- 10 min walk with Butter 

Music: Panic! at the Disco.

This is pretty fun to do inside (air conditioning is quite nice!), but I can’t wait to get back out and work more with free weights and such. Gotta get those avatar arms!! And it might be nice to get through a set without Butter sitting on the edge of my mat, judging me when he’s not trying to get belly rubs. 

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone in the Korra Fit Fam that’s been giving me advice/encouragement- y’all are so kind!!

Favourite season/book/movie: I read the first 2 books, and I really liked it, especially the first book, and its so different from the show. Maybe S4 was my favourite for some parts

Best musical moment: I still love in season 1 when theyre leaving the camp and they play that woodkid song

Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest: Anytime Octavia kicks some ass

When it really disappointed you: Anytime they reuse the same tired lines of “it was for my people” and for some characters thats okay but for others they are crucified for it, and for reusing the same story lines...radiation..again

Saddest moment: After Ravens surgery way back when, When Lincoln was killed, End of S4, When Diyoza stopped O in 7x02

Most well done character death:  I guess the only Characters that got a good death and were able to live happy lives are Monty and Harper

Favourite guest star: Dichen Lachmen for Anya and Ilian

Favourite cast member: Marie Avgeropoulos obv, the way she brought so many layers to Octavias character throughout all the seasons. The whole cast is great though, Eliza and Bob are fantastic as well

Character you wish was still alive: Lincoln

One thing you hope really happens: Octavia gets some sort of happy ending, perhaps people apologize to her instead of her always having to seek forgiveness when all she did was the same as others have done as well

Most shocking twist: nothing is exactly that shocking, Perhaps way back in S2 when you find out they are bleeding the grounders, in S6 about the primes...although it wasnt that surprising

When did you start watching/reading?: I heard about this upcoming book that they were already talking about making a show out of way back when before the book was even published, and as soon as the book was released I read that and anticipated the show and have been a fan ever since

Favourite location: Anytime they explored the beautiful scenery of British Columbia, S3 had a lot of nice locations. Skyring also seems nice

Trope you wish they would stop using: The whole Its for my people, just wanted to save my people, like why is your people better than the others and worth killing others for

One thing this show/book/film does better than others: I like how they continuously transform Octavias character, she isnt static, but its the only character they do that with 

Funniest moments: Looking back the foam bit is funny, Murphy clacking rocks together, Murphy has a lot of funny scenes

Couple you would like to see: I would like it to be canon that Niylah is into Octavia, that they have her admit that, Raven with someone who doesnt end up dying thatd be nice

Favourite outfit: Octavia 4x10 outfit, as well when she changes at Niylahs trading post, and her Blodreina outfit was bad ass, though all her looks in 7x02 were fantastic. Ravens red jacket was boss. Bellamy in disguise as a grounder and in mt weather with that cap was fun too

Favourite item: Lincolns journal, wish that was still around. Ravens necklace

What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race etc would you be in?: Earlier seasons would have said Trikru, now i guess Wonkru, but hopefully friends with O

Most boring plotline: the flame..always with the flame im so sick of it, and the city of light was pretty tiresome too

Most laughably bad moment: all of sanctum and most of s6?

Best flashback/flashfoward if any: Loving the anomaly flashbacks with O and Hope and Diyoza, and I liked when there was flashbacks in the bunker, got to understand a bit more

Most layered character: Octavia definitely ..also Murphy

Most one dimensional character: Clarke, always the same excuses, always the same reasons

Scariest moment: ? I was rewatching some episodes and actually in S3 I think when Harper and Miller and Bryan and theyre telling ghost stories and then Harper gets taken that actually startled me

Grossest moment: the cannibalism was not great, Radiation stuff is also gross looking

Best looking male: I mean theyre all pretty awesome looking, Lincoln when he was around, Bellamy, Miller, Gabriel

Best looking female: Again theyre all babes

Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you: Something I wish they had perhaps addressed even though it wasnt important in the story that much but in S1 when Kane says “they hid her under the floor for 16 years...ALMOST A RECOD” like whatttt. That could have been a fun thing to talk about. as for continuity theres a lot of stuff that doesnt quite work but its jroth so

Hey Black Sails fam, I wanted to share this WIP before I leave for Iceland next Monday, because I don’t think I’ll have time to finish this piece before that. It is still super rough, but maybe some of you are interested in seeing the various stages of my art process? I try not to look at any references when sketching out the basics, and I will tweak this a lot more later to get their likeness right.

My happy headcanon for what happens after 4x10 is that Thomas and James break out of the plantation after a while and go back to Silver and Madi (shut up about Treasure Island alright?) shortly afterwards and they talk for a very long time and are finally able to be honest about their feelings and Silver is sorry for what he’s done but Flint forgives him and then they KISS OKAY and nobody feels sad or betrayed or conflicted anymore and Madi and Thomas will become bffs (I should probably also include them in the final piece somehow) and they will all live happily ever fucking after gardening and reading and philosophising and practicing swords together.

i absolutely just cannot rewatch most of s4. i just opened up 4x10 and was like ‘HEY LET’S TRY IT, LET’S TRY REWATCHING THE LAST SILVERFLINT SCENE’. i got like 10 seconds in, flint said “we’ll rest here” and then there’s that shot of silver’s back as he walks up the hill to meet flint who’s sitting on the rock, and i immediately fucking DIED because the first thing that shot reminded me of was the opening of 4x09 when silver walks up the hill to meet flint for their first swordfighting lesson and you can hear the same sort of shuffling gait (although slightly different obviously because in 4x10 silver has the crutch not the metal leg) and it’s a similar shot of silver’s back as he walks up a slope and flint is revealed somewhere ahead of him, and i just.

PART 1 hello i'm here to say things i would love to see in the finale regarding wren ahah. i would LOVE the scene where he's scared with the gun pointed at melissa as a flashback. like they moved to london in 2011/12 its been 5 years he got his haircut cool... charlotte called him telling him about melissa killing bethany (i think so)SO HE PULLS OUT HIS FRICKING GUN bc B was his sister/cousin/exlover whateva and finds out M killed her and at first he was angry(promo1)but when mel started

PART 2. Mel started to talk and tried to make him stop thats why he got all confuse and hesitate they broke up and blaah that's why when hanna saw her that day at the party she was drunk trying to forget that his bf almost try to kill her(some domestic AWFUL violence but hear me out). After they broke up he was still in contact with cece and thats how it all began. he being AD ahaha. cece was the one blackmailing melissa with the confession tape bc she was having fun with wren making her "pay"

PART 3. and that memory of almost getting killed was by melissa telling it to her fam the girls. OR he's gonna kill mona bc she found out he/WREN is in fact AD. like i would love that mona and us/the audience finds out before the girls(i think we in fact will know who is)and we finally know the reasons of 4x10 convo and kills her so she can't tell the liars. my last wish of this scene is that. we ALL are thinking AD is gonna take off the hoodie like mona-cece but what IF he's just in normal

PART 4. In normal clothes? bc "i hide in plain sight" like that scene shooting mona its him revealing to mona. like "yep its me it has always be me i'm not like you with dat hoodie shit. i'm killin u bc u finally know who has always being in charge. PLUS u killed cece my ___". Or for any character thats gonna be ad, what make us think its gonna be a "take off hoodie moment" reveal?i mean its our first thought bc of A-Big A but what IF this time its different and we never consider it?my wishes:)

I loooooove the idea about Melissa! 

I’ve actually seen a lot of people discussing the idea about AD being outed in a casual moment. Kind of like Scream season 2 if you saw that? It was amazing! I suspected the person so bad so every single scene I was on the edge of my seat waiting for it, and then it happened! They went from normal to evil and deranged instantaneously. I hope PLL does this instead of some cheap scooby doo unmasking!
