The Death of King Morion from old order to the new
The importance of King Morion's death is that it symbolises change. Change needs to happen in all four kingdoms to ensure peace, cooperation and understanding. King Morion's reign represents: violence, stigmatisation and aggression.
Violence - instead of seeking peaceful solutions it is deemed acceptable to take things by force. The war with Elusia is an example of this force.
Stigmatisation - Instead of trying to understand the culture of Elusia, negative labels are created such as 'dangerous' and 'unpredictable '.
Aggression - Instead of the appreciation of a person's different qualities and skills, a person's value is judged by might. A person's strength is the basis of social mobility.
King Morion has to die so that Brodia can move on from his style of leadership. Diamant is the catalyst for this change and he represents: peace, cooperation and understanding.
Peace - He does not want to start new wars or expand Brodia's territory. He seeks peaceful solutions to Brodia's problems.
Cooperation - By changing Brodia to a mining economy and trading with the other nations of Elyso he is creating mutual dependency. Brodia trades the primary resource and the artisans of other kingdoms use that resource to create something.
Understanding - By understanding the different industries and resources of other kingdoms, Diamant can adapt Brodian industry to accommodate. Ivy puts it perfectly; 'Brodian resourcefulness, Elusian talent. A path to peace and prosperity based on respect for one another’s gifts.'
I have a headcannon where Queen Lumera knew what year (but not month or day) Alear was going to wake. Queen Lumera knew the best choice for her daughter was King Morion's son, Diamant. She could feel the Corrupted stir, and she needed an army. The strongest army in Elyos is Brodia who was known as The Kingdom of Might, and she knew she would need them in order to defeat the Corrupted and the possibility of the return of Lord Sombron. They were perfect. Even though King Morion understood the reasons why Queen Lumera had picked his son, he still felt honored. However, they both felt it was the right move not to say anything because if word got out, it would cause panic and chaos which is what they wanted to avoid. However, they still needed a witness, and Queen Lumera had chose Vander for this position. King Morion also agreed he was the best option. Years had passed while they painfully waited for the day Alear would wake. However, neither Queen Lumera nor King Morion had planned on dieing or leaving Vander to explain to Alear and Diamant that they were betrothed to each other. Vander, however, felt like it was his place tell either of them that.
After when Alear found a certain ring, Vander knew he had to tell them because he could tell she was trying not to look at Diamant, and Vander could see the pain Diamant's eyes. Vander already had a feeling they had feelings for each other because the other would watch the other when they thought nobody was paying attention (they weren't as discreet as they thought as that was how the whole army had figured out they had feelings for each other.
However, now Vander has revealed these documents to them, are Alear and Diamant able to cut through the red tape a little quicker?
thinking so much about the nature of the brodia royalty’s names because morion is a type of helmet and helmets protect what’s most important and often end up dented or broken in the process and that’s what happened to morion because he was protecting diamant alcryst and brodia and diamant is the male variation of diamante which is a middle english name varying from diamond and diamonds are sparkling and gorgeous and perfect and formed under pressure which diamant was and alcryst is derived from crystal and crystals are so broad in their structure and some are weak and some are strong and people always forget that diamonds are crystals and that represents how alcryst forgets his strengths and the similarities he has with his brother and just. i’m obsessed with them.
I find it funny how the Fire Emblem fandom’s consensus on King Morion is either “I love him, what a wholesome dad” or “I hate him, what a warmongering idiot” with very little in between.
The first reason I believe that Roy is used to represent Brodia is because of the symbol of the lion, along with the unicorn, the lion is a heraldry emblem of Scotland. The lion rampage flag is a symbol of Scottish royalty. The unicorn and the lion feature in the full royal coat of arms of the UK. The unicorn represents Scotland and the Lion represents England. Both creatures are fierce adversaries but at the same time they symbolise complementary counterparts; the extrovert and the introvert, the violent and the tranquil, etc. Diamant is the 'young lion' and Alcryst is his complementary counterpart.
Diamant is also the 'young lion's because he has a lot in common with Roy. They both have to follow in their father's footsteps and both have big shoes to fill. Roy had to take over from his father 'Eliwood' when he became unable to rule because of illness. Eliwood was a polite, well spoken, charismatic and empathetic king with a natural talent for leadership despite his physical vulnerabilities and somewhat naive nature. Diamant has to take over from King Morion when he becomes corrupted. In contrast to Eliwood, King Morion is a warrior known for his might and his casual, brash but friendly demeanour.
They have similar personality traits. Diamant and Roy want peace, they act confident in front of their armies but often doubt their competency as leaders and soldiers, enjoy reading, formal, polite and he values friends and family.
Obtaining Leif
The Ring of the Sage Lord is obtained in Brodia. I believe that Leif is collected in Brodia because his parents were killed by King Travant so he shares the same feelings of anger and desire for revenge felt by Diamant and Alcryst at Destinea Cathedral when they see that their father has been corrupted.
Fell Lucina
I believe that Lucina is used as the fell version emblem because she is a symbol of hope. Hortensia is literally dangling hope in front of them and at that point, with the Marth by their side, Alear is feeling confident and hopeful.

Some good things about FE Engage’s manga recent chapter
Morion picking Alear up like he’s a sopping wet cat with Diamant calling his father out on it.
MAH BOIS!!!! (Where’s Jade tho)
Child Ivy with younger King Hyancith and 4-5 year old Hortensia. (Also he has dark hair during his youth WTF I didn’t notice)
Ok this is just me but I liked that head accessory on Ivy better than the vizor thing she wore in the main game. If they put some sort of veil on it, then she would look better. (Also the dress is pretty)
