This blank “canvas” is soon to be a LLAMA. That’s right, a llama, not an alpaca. Hold onto your butts, people. I’ve been experimenting the past few pieces with different mats for my wet felting process. Up until recently, I’d used the material for window screens. But that broke down pretty quickly and the edges would snag the wool and became quite the hindrance to my process. 🙄 Next, I started using drawer liners, but those created fuzzier felts than I prefer. I think I’ve found my solution. Drawer liner exterior and bubble wrap interior. This has been the first week with Daniel back at work since almost 4 weeks ago. Needless to say, I was dreading it. But the boys did great. I’ve been able to keep Isaac and Blaise on their nap schedules and we’ve even come pretty close to potty training Blaise. I found myself picking up my phone upwards of 150+ times a day. I didn’t like it. So I took the Facebook app off my phone. (It’s been so freeing! Highly recommend.) And I limited my Instagram time to only 15 minutes a day by using the Screen Time setting on my iPhone. I love interacting with all of you and so many other inspiring artists on here, so I kept the app. I knew I was mindlessly scrolling to fill quiet moments of my day that would be better used to either engage with my children (duh. Should’ve been doing that from day 1), or embrace a quick chance to rest my mind and soul. Let me tell you, it’s worked wonders. I’m still not where I’d like to be in regards to how often I habitually check my phone, but I’m on my way. And that’s all that matters.
