The circular bookshop rug CHANGES?!
(Edit: this is the rug that rests on top of the portal, under the chandelier. I think(?) there's only one of those!)
I saw someone mention this in a comment, but haven't seen any pics or discussion about it yet, so I checked. It's another inexplicable (ineffable?) "continuity" error:
S2e1, prepping to do the half miracles to hide Jim!Gabriel:
Tumblr media
S2e5, as Nina enters the ball:
Tumblr media
(More pics, including the season ONE rug, which was used for an s2 promo photo, and some discussion, below)
S2e5, prepping to defend the bookshop from the demons after Crowley walks most of the humans out:
Tumblr media
S2e6, Crowley tidying the bookshop while Azi has a chinwag:
Tumblr media
And sure, Aziraphale could have enchanted it to look more "Jane Austen-esque" for the ball, but then why did it change back in e6? It looks like Nina and Maggie's clothes for the ball stayed throughout e6, so it's not like the ball enchantments expired, Cinderella-style, or something...
Like the two different wigs for Crowley in Job, it seems superfluous to have two different rugs for the bookshop. And yet ...
It seems like it must be a Clue about something! Unreliable Narrator(s)? Another magic trick we didn't see? What do you think?
Edit 2: @rebeccasteventaylor had a good question about the rug in s1. I checked, and you'll perhaps be unsurprised to learn that the rug in s1e4, when Azi talks to Floating Head Metatron, is similar to s2e1 when they do the half miracle, but definitely not the same. The chairs also look similar but not exact:
Tumblr media
And here's a wider view of s1e4:
Tumblr media
And a wider view of s2e1:
Tumblr media
I understand they Actually Burned the bookshop and everything inside during s1, and then had to recreate it for s2 (there's a really wild post about recreating a hand painted antique tiled sink that talks more about that), so I don't know if the similar-but-not-exact chairs, big red rug, and round rug are more casualties of that, or are meant to look different...
Edit 3: EXCEPT. They USED the season 1 rug in season 2 promo photos!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So... they didn't burn it? Or they did burn it and then they recreated it and didn't actually use it for s2??
I can't think or even breathe, this is SO WEIRD.
Interested in diving further into all the Good Omens mysteries? I have lots more of my own posts plus Clues and metas from all over the fandom, here.

OH NO NO NO THE NO.
Looking back. "I know what YOU smell like." And suddenly, subtly, it's THERE. Tiniest of bleps here and there. Which Aziraphale knows, because HE bleps in Hell to be in character. Crowley bleps a LOT around Jim-biel, trying to suss out if he's faking it. When he's explaining VAVOOM (and KUDOS to Jon Hamm because Goob's trying to do the Tennant/Crowley Left Eyebrow😄!), and infamously in the "Hello Gabriel" scene. It's been there the whole. Damn. Time.
But I looked, and: yeah, it's here. A half second after this gif starts, when he's hyperventilating and trying not to cry and soldiering on...blep. Tiny blep. Trying to maintain control...
Blep.

a bit of late night organising the bookshop after the end of the world that wasn't.... Crowley 100% shifted into a snake so he didn't have to help, and of course so he had an excuse to snuggle up to his angel...

Come Inside
Part 3 of the series Come for Me.
Summary:
Crowley and Aziraphale go inside the bookshop after escaping hell. Aziraphale flips the power dynamic a bit. 😏
Rating:
E for Explicit (or for “everything you need in your life right now.” 😉)
TW/CW for light BDSM (more tags on the work itself).
Excerpt:
A switch flipped behind Aziraphale’s eyes, his expression changing from pleading to determined. There was a metal clink and Crowley suddenly looked down at his hands, startled to see that he was now wearing cuffs. “Angel, what are you…”
Aziraphale grabbed his scarf and pulled him in, stopping his query short with a sloppy kiss. Crowley moaned. His feet moved independently of his brain as the angel shoved him backward. His legs met resistance in the form of a large, cushy armchair that was positioned against the spiral staircase railing. He fell into the chair with Aziraphale on top of him.
“Ngk!” Crowley half choked, trying to keep up with the kiss.
“I know you don’t much care for my magic tricks…” Aziraphale slid one hand up Crowley’s arm, pinning his cuffed hands above his head. “But I couldn’t resist a little sleight of hand.” His other hand deftly untied the silvery tie from Crowley’s neck.
“Angel…” It wasn’t really a protest, but it was the beginning of a question. Aziraphale cut him off with another wet kiss. Crowley moaned. “Angel…” he tried again. Suddenly, the angel was yanking the scarf from his neck. “Aziraphale!”
“Yes, my love?”
Hearing the new term of endearment short circuited his infernal brain for a moment and he opened his mouth and shut it again, trying to find the words. Meanwhile, heavenly fingers were fastening his cuffed hands above his head, using the scarf to tie his wrists to the winding wrought iron railing behind them.

How safe is the bookshop?
I really wish I understood better which meet-up locations are more or less dangerous and, in particular, how safe the bookshop is or is not preceding S2. (This a riff off of @takeme-totheworld's recent post wondering how closely they are being watched).
It seems to me that meeting in a fully public location -- the park. a crowd, a theater audience, a bus -- allows for the most plausible deniability, and this is where we see the bulk of their interactions until Armageddon v1. This is also the argument Crowley uses when Furfur catches them at the theater: "Pure coincidence. I happened to be here, he asked for a volunteer." However, the earth observation files include photos of them taken in public places, so maybe it's not so safe. Do they know they've been photographed?
Restaurants seem to be skirting this rule, since they are technically public but comprised of groups of people who are choosing to associate with each other. They indulge in this activity at least once before S1 ("we had crepes!") and two times during the Armageddon, when the end of the world is nigh and they are more comfortable bending the rules.
Private spaces seem most dangerous to me. If you are caught together in private, there is no plausible deniability. The Bentley isn't safe from demonic intrusion, at least in S1, and we don't see Crowley drive Aziraphale around much: only in 1941 and then S1, when they're bending the rules because Armageddon. They also don't seem to use the flat except maybe the night before the swap.
The bookshop is where things get murky. How often do angels drop in on Aziraphale prior to Gabriel and Sandalphon visiting in S1? Is Aziraphale also subject to random communications through his phonograph like Crowley is through the Bentley radio? Is Crowley protected against hell when he's in the bookshop and, if so, has that been true since its opening in 1800? It seems in S2 like only angels/demons who are invited can come into the bookshop. Was that true before S2? Is the bookshop only an "independent embassy" (which makes no sense) once Aziraphale is sort-of retired from heaven in S2?
I think this plays into how we understand their relationship, especially prior to S2. How dangerous is it to be caught by another angel or demon socializing or being intimate with the hereditary enemy? (I'm thinking of physical intimacy, yes, but this could also apply to day drinking bouts and naps on the couch). Being a "trusted stooge and confidant" seems pretty dangerous in 1941 part 2, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if their cozy evening in the bookshop is interrupted in 1941 part 3.
Of course, feelings can outweigh prudence. So they could at various moments decide to take a risk to be together.

The beginnings of A.Z Fell and Co. being built in the Sims 4. This build is incredibly rough for many reasons namely, the goddamn grid you’re forced to build on in the sims 4, the sheer amount of clutter, and my severely limited selection of windows that are the correct color outside AND inside.
Despite it all morale is high, not looking forward to figuring out the upstairs or exterior tho…

Jimbriel's shirt. I'd wondered what the collar logo was.
My husband and I recently ended up with Covid. I just noticed the logo on the test box, made by a company called Quidel. Good Omens season 2 was shot during, and tested daily for, Covid.
Did we find out at some point if this was the logo, something close to it, or did I just stick the testing swab too far up my nose?
