I'm trying to focus on what I liked about Episode 7 and my brain is just looping a few things.

-Was that Colonel Alkire at the camp heading up compound staff? I missed if he was named, but if so, I'm quite pleased to see him.

-Frank Murphy getting a letter from his mom ❤️

-The way the show approached the Great Escape. They managed to keep the focus entirely on the tragedy and incredulousness of the situation, and on how it could directly impact the American prisoners in the other compounds. It felt very balanced and very Great Escape in the context of MotA, not Great Escape eclipsing the show.

- MUSTANGS!!!!! MotA is a bomber-centric show and B-17s are incredible in how they can be beat to hell and keep flying, but fighter planes will always be my first love when it comes to WWII.

-Von Lindeiner's removal from his position as commodant being mentioned. He's someone I find very interesting, plus it's nice to have that hint of how there was a whole world of politics going on when it came to the running of the camps and the tension between the Luftwaffe and the Gestapo.

- I loved all the fountain pen shots we got to see this ep when folks were writing.

[Vent] - AEYRHHRHFNJD DAMN this day has been INSANE. Sooo much has happened today, it's honestly been a sensory nightmare. I got almost no sleep at all because I needed to be awake to do a bunch of things, so I was very very grumpy and exhausted... Finally, I get to sleep and chill. THEN, not long ago, I go make some microwavable stuff, and as I'm taking it out, I get BURNED. By STEAM. STEAM! It hurt so bad and STILL hurts, even though there's no visible injury. Bad days happen, but jesus can I pls just have one thing not go wrong today??? :,)

Thinking very hard about how in that first scene Aziraphale is the one with less faith in Heaven. The Starmaker is bright and optimistic and full of faith and trust that asking questions is a safe thing to do. But Aziraphale? He's anxious from the start. Already worried about the Starmaker getting into trouble. Already aware of how Heaven has the capacity for, if not cruelty, apathy.

I was scrolling through my art folders on procreate, and I found this huge panoramic piece of a bunch of fnafsb Sun & Moon artists with mini versions of their Suns & Moons that I really looked up to.

Unfortunately it never really got past the sketching phase and even then I hadn’t gotten everyone drawn who I wanted to.

But looking back at it gives me this big smile and reminds me of all the good memories of the fandom I think I might as well share it.

Also mind you this is like a year old so it may not be entirely accurate to the designs.

Why I like to torture myself with these elaborate panoramic pieces with like 10+ individuals on a piece is beyond me.

fr tho @staff why are you trying to make tumblr more like other sites why are you destroying your niche in the market please there have got to be ways to make tumblr more accessible to new users without sacrificing the very things that your existing userbase loves

#its a genuine problem... I have had friends sign up for tumblr and then not use it because they dont know how to navigate non-algorithmic sm #but come on. there have got to be ways to build up the onboarding process so that people learn how to search for blogs + content #and/or ways to create separate contained algorithmic feeds OR to create the option to turn the algorithmic feed off like it is rn #and honestly I do think tumblr's focus should be more on 'how do we convince people non-algorithmic is good' #rather than 'how do we become algorithmic' #there's gotta be a whole angle in there right??? something like emphasizing that on tumblr you find the content YOU want #not the content we want you to want #also the whole thing about drawing in new creators. have they talked to existing creators??????? bc I dont know that they want algorithms #i dont know I just think tumblr will never be able to do the algorithm better than sites like FB or tik tok or even twitter #so if they try to become algorithmic they will fail to meet the standards of new users AND they will drive away the existing userbase #its a bad look. this is your niche. play to it. thats marketing 101

Listen is so great you don't understand. It's an episode about mental illness. You're Fig Faeth and your horns came in over the summer and you pick up the bard class as a form of adolescent rock 'n' roll rebellion, and it works! It's exactly the outlet you need! You give a guy you just met drumsticks and you start a band and it's good enough that within a year and a half you're touring. You are, in every sense, good at being a bard.

Your classmates know what they want to do with their work. They all have a thesis statement. And yeah, there's cohesion in the music you make, but you've never had to think about why you make it. You've never sat down and dissected what it is about bass that speaks to you. You've never poured over your lyrics to pick at any deeper meaning. Why should you? You don't play music for a grand design, you do it to... huh, why do you do it?

(Your art is the one form of self-expression that feels as safe as Disguise Self does, because even if you're pouring your heart onto the page and then screaming it in front of thousands of people, it's not like you're really making yourself known. You can sing I'm lonely, I'm scared, I'm furious, and your fans will sing it right back, and there will still be the distance between performer and audience to keep your heart safe.)

Now you're being asked to look inward to explain the artistic choices you're making, and you can't help but recoil at that, because you'd rather do anything than look inward. Meanwhile, your classmates have no problem with it, so you start to wonder if you're a real artist at all. Can your art be authentic if it only exists to bolster a thesis statement? Has your art been unauthentic this whole time because you've never really thought about a thesis statement before? Is that what makes it art, and not just the next track on somebody's teen angst playlist?

You can't think about yourself— acknowledging your own existence makes you want to puke. So if your music is an extension of yourself, (and it is, even if it's just because the spotlight reveals only what you want it to,) you can't think about your music. You can't. You have to. Your grade depends on it.

You're Fig Faeth, and you keep multiclassing because you'd rather be a good friend than a great artist. If introspection is what great art demands, then fuck it. You must not be a bard at all.

I’ll share first!

I told my great aunt that I am not heterosexual and her response was one of love and acceptance, which genuinely surprised me since she is a baptized Witness. In fact, her exact words were, “Did you think I didn’t know? I love you either way.” (That makes me think she thinks I’m a lesbian, and she would not be the first family member to assume that about me, but thinking a 60-something year old Southern-raised Witness that lives in a small town in the Bible Belt is going to understand the complexities of sexuality is a step too far)

@brbtherescookies surprised me with a wonderful t-shirt that declares me “SOMEBODY’S FERAL AUNT” and I cannot wait to wear it

My sister’s twins turned two on Tuesday and she’s taking all of her kiddos to the aquarium tomorrow, which I get to tag along with because everyone knows that if they’re doing something fun with the kids I better be invited. Definitely wearing the aforementioned shirt, too.

oh, very general emotions, it's not very Specific i'd think. cool colors correlate with cool emotions - like a frosty blue would mean he's feeling frigid, yk yk
