Adrienn Banai: The Rat Lover

I didn't want to post about any of this, but this person forced my hand.

I can't let this person run around on this hellsite anymore.

For those not in the know, this person harasses artists into drawing their husbando: a rat character named "Grey" from the children's series "Larva Island". Sometimes they also harass people into drawing Grey's grandpa, a female version of Grey named "Greyless", Grey wearing Roxanne's dress from "A Goofy Movie", and plenty of parodies of the opening scene of said movie. Like, they subjected one person to draw that same sequence with different characters like 6-7 times. And the "best" part? Sometimes they steal the poor victim's art to claim it as their own. And sometimes, they create edits of them WITHOUT CREDITING THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS. And when they do get caught, they apologize. A lot. But that's only a front to get respect again.

And I was one of their unfortunate victims. This person is weird as all hell; they ship this rat with Pibby (a character that is canonically from a preschool show), Meilin Lee (A hecking 13 year old girl), and Adrienn themselves.

The rat, according to the user, is 15 while the female version of the rest, his girlfriend, is 12.

Adrienn themselves are either 17 or 19.

The fandoms they follow are: -Courage the Cowardly Dog -Friday Night Funkin -Learning with Pibby -Little Nightmares -Turning Red -Anything Disney related (Goofy mostly) -Steven Universe -Made in Abyss -Road to El Dorado -Eddsworld -Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -Super Mario series and, most importantly, Larva.

It's already kind of weird enough, but then I did more digging on this person. They have a butt ton of accounts on a multitude of social media websites. They have a few on reddit, a few on wikia, one on vimeo, and a few on behance, of all places. They have a long history of harassing users, especially on reddit and wikia. They have the most accounts on Tumblr, with five (two of them are inactive.) The second biggest is wikia, with four. The earliest accounts were on DeviantArt, which makes a lot of sense. Oh, but it gets better. They have uncensored nsfw content on two tumblrs. This is from one of their accounts. I am not going to show you the image, but I'm going to show you the tags:

I mean, I'm glad that they tagged it as "rule 34", but I'm more surprised about how tumblr didn't purge those posts or ban the user entirely. So, if you see someone with any of these accounts ask you to draw this rat, dump the ask and block em. Though you probably won't listen to me anyway, since apparently in your eyes the word "no" is just an unspoken "yes".

And please don't harass this person or send them death threats. Doing that just makes you a bad person.

I hope this is the last time I talk about this person, because I don't really have the time or the patience to deal with stupid bullcrap like this.

You can smell Raphs indecision stink from here- and Donnie is STILL listing his favorite colors in order from best to worst. Best being purple, worst being grey.

Eventually, though you find: Raph favorite color is red and animals is a rat, Donnies favorite color is purple. He hasn't figured out a full list for his favorite animals (because he is missing data for a lot of animals, ranking would be to hard) so he just defaults to Mikey's favorite. Mikey's favorite color is orange - close second is "rainbow"- and his favorite animal is a cat "I'm sorry George!!". Lastly, Heishi's favorite color is blue and his favorite animals are, of course, unicorns!

Also, just saying, the anon saga will be longer- every anon so far has fit together with the others so well- I just... I have to.

Counting down the hours - a numbers update!

Since the update yesterday evening, THIRTY more creators have signed up for another THIRTY EIGHT offers … including a signup for Goncharov, NINE new write-in fandoms, and FIVE more folks willing to work in any fandom.

Sherlock has managed to tie up fifth place in the listed fandoms, sharing the spot with Teen Wolf. And the tenth spot is now a 4-way tie between Merlin, Original Work, The Sandman, and The Witcher.

Under the cut is a list of the Unlisted Fandoms with just one write-in. A single sign up would bump them up the list. A handful of signups can completely shake things up.

ficletober day 2 - Yen & ciri missing scene bonding

After waking from a nightmare, Ciri tells her Mama about Mistle

Takes place toward the end of the saga, after the family has been reunited

content warnings for spoilers for the witcher saga, largely tower of the swallows and lady of the lake. references to canon events related to war, violence, attempted and threatened assault, death, and loss.

I know that there are mixed feelings about Ciri & Mistle's book relationship and my feelings are also pretty mixed, but I don't think anyone can deny that Ciri loved her and Mistle loved Ciri. I think by the end she would have been feeling some guilt and regret about her time with the rats and then more guilt and regret for missing that time.

Rain dripped off the manes of the horses and darkened their backs, standing with heads lowered together beneath the meager shelter of a tree. The three mares, one dapple grey, one chestnut, and one glossy black, had taken some time to adjust to one another's company but stood together now with only the occasional head shake or pinned ears.

Their riders took shelter within a mildewed tool shed that only leaked a little through its mossy roof. It had a dry patch of floor and a door that could be barred against intruders, which was all they needed. In the wake of war, all sorts of strangers roamed the roads, and one could never be too careful.

No one was likely to disturb these travellers though. If any crept near enough to inspect the tied horses and the cozy toolshed, they would encounter the figure seated against the trunk of the looming tree, his hooded cloak pulled low over his face against the spring rain, his ugly-looking sword only a twitch of fabric away from finding itself beneath a nosy wanderer's chin. 

No wanderer had yet strolled by to test him, and the last grey dregs of the day stretched into a grey dusk thick with fog.

"Our noble sentry seems to have dozed off," said Yennefer, peering through the crack in the door. "I did tell him that my wards made keeping watch out in the mud unnecessary. If he's grouchy in the morning, you remind him I told him that."

"More space for me," said Ciri, splaying her limbs across one of the two bedrolls they carried with them. Though she had insisted many times that Geralt and Yennefer should be the ones to share, she had been sleeping tucked against Yennefer each night. 

Since reuniting and embarking on their journey as a trio, the Witcher had been intent on as many small, self-sacrificial gestures as possible. He slept out in the rain and would not lie holding Yennefer at night and offered the two women the larger share of food.

"He's atoning," said Yennefer scathingly as they ate a meal of fish jarred in oil and a wedge of hard cheese. "He still thinks one can barter suffering for suffering. I hope he gets his fill of it soon. It's incredibly dull."

"Atoning for what?" asked Ciri as she licked the oil from her fingers. 

Despite all that she had been through and everything that had changed in her, sitting beside Yennefer in the packed dirt made her feel like a little girl again, the one she had been at the Temple of Melitele years ago.

Yennefer's scarred fingers trembled on the lid of the jar as she tightened it closed. She shook them and cursed.

"You know already," she said. "You know how much guilt and blame he carries."

Ciri knew. She carried that same guilt and blame and had for a long time, magnified now that she knew just how many lives had been lost in her name. 

"Hush," whispered the sorceress, her arms encircling her, a scratchy wool blanket snugged close around them. Ciri sobbed into the warmth of her body, her ribs hitching painfully. "It was only a dream."

Sleep came quickly in the musty toolshed but did not last. Ciri found herself waking with a gasp, whimpering on the edge of crying out. Something came up beside her in the dark, an arm encircling her waist, a quiet murmur close to her ear. For a blurry, desperate moment, she thought Mistle and then smelled sweet lilac perfume and turned her face into Yennefer's chest.

The shape of the dream had already fragmented, slick with blood and loud with the calls of carrion birds. She saw a mass grave. A greyed pile of limbs. Headless.

"Mama," moaned Ciri and clung, and Yennefer gripped her back just as fiercely. 

Sometimes faltering, sometimes flagging, she had told her reunited guardians the grueling story of all that had occurred to her since their separation, but some details she had kept to herself. She had spoken of the men who had squabbled over her and threatened her, of the brigands and bounty hunters and Elven royalty who tried to stake some claim on her body, but had not known how to put to words her time spent sleeping in the arms of a girl.

With some hindsight, she saw it more clearly. All of the Rats naive, foolish children, traumatized by war and split open and festering. Doomed from the start. Did they truly think that they could ride on pillaging and cavorting forever? That they would not meet a trap they could not slither out of or a tether they could not gnaw through?

And she and her Mistle the most foolish of all, playing at some great romance to last the ages. Domestic and cloying. Ciri did not know how to put words to it without feeling a sting of embarrassment, a cringe of awareness. She imagined talking about the way she had the rest in the light of day, imagined Geralt's stern voice telling her to go on, Yennefer's expression stormy, cursing under her breath with rising bitter fury.

How could she say any of it aloud?

It all sounded so silly and small and stupid. Crushingly naive and vapid, such a foolish little thing to feel, especially as meanwhile, Yennefer had suffered for her in a dark, filthy cellar and meanwhile, Geralt had fought across a great, war-torn distance to rescue her. 

I called her my Waxwing. I held her hand. I liked the way her fresh-shorn hair felt under my palms. I laughed with her. She liked to lay behind me at night and pretend she was my husband. She gifted me beautiful things torn from the hands of those we thought deserved them less, and I did the same. She called me Little Falcon. I fed her fruit and candy from my hand, and she fed me. I loved her. She loved me.

While she danced on tables in cavorting crowds and sighed under the stars with Mistle's arms around her and dreamed of their life together going on and on, never getting caught and never settling down and never growing old.

"Mama," she whispered against Yennefer's breast. "Mama, I loved her."

In the dark, all the littlest feelings felt bigger. 

And Ciri told her, between the breathless moments lost to voiceless weeping, about a girl called Mistle who was gone now.

And there had been bad things, of course there had been bad things. She whispered those things too. About their raised voices and stubborn arguments and touches neither were in the mood for. About the cruel things they had participated in, the raids and robberies and humiliations. 

"I'm sorry, Mama, I'm sorry," breathed Ciri. 

"Hush, I know. Hush, daughter. It's forgiven."

"I thought that she was– I loved her. Even though–"

"I know. I know. It's alright. Everything's alright."

In the morning, Ciri tried not to think about how red-rimmed her eyes must look, the streaks of tears still clear on her dirty cheeks. She washed her face and ate an apple, feeding the core to Kelpie. The mare's prickly, black whiskers tickled her fingers, and for a moment, she felt, quite ridiculously, like she could cry again. 

"Where to next, Ciri?" asked Geralt, looking rumpled and miserable from his night outdoors in the rain. Yennefer stood in serene contrast beside him, her dark hair falling in perfect waves, but Ciri saw a hint of exhausted circles beneath her eyes. There were bits of straw in her hair.

Her black mare had carried her across distances more vast than any mount in history, and yet did not know a thing about any of it, did not have the sort of mind that could parse that vastness, did not know how many times she had come breaths away from death, did not know how Ciri loved her and could never understand how small and foolish loving anything at all was and equally how brave and daring and significant.

Ciri leaned her head against Kelpie's damp mane and sighed.

"A town called Jealousy," said Ciri, and her chin only wobbled a little. "I'd like to see about a grave."

The three riders mounted and turned their horses onto the road.

Bruno Figure Mini-Review

That’s “review,” as in mostly incoherent rambling. Image-heavy post!

First of all: shaped like a friend.

Let’s go~

His hair is maybe a bit wonky (not as wonky-looking as the McDonalds toy, though). However, I appreciate this detail:

His uneven cuffs! Right pant leg is rolled up a little higher. It’s one of my favorite little things about Bruno’s character design. ‘Cuz he’s got other stuff to do, rats to feed - ain’t no time to worry about his pants. Also, they did a good job with his nose.

Actually, the first thing I noticed as I was taking him out of the packaging was how soft his ruana felt.

It’s a soft plastic/vinyl, fairly malleable. Hmmm. Not the hard plastic I was expecting for a figurine I thought was going to be kinda “basic” (in a good way):

Sure enough. There’s more!

Cue me going, “Wait. Wait. Wait.” ...as I realized what a soft plastic ruana might potentially mean and turned the figure around:

ANYWYA (typo that I am keeping), you can take Bruno’s ruana off.

...which, I'm not gonna to lie, felt a bit awkward to do. A very likely unpopular opinion: generally speaking, clothed Bruno > unclothed Bruno.

The separable piece is a +1 in the interactivity department, though 👍🏼

He can sit!

And cover his eyes in a gesture that I’m sure says, “pls don’t” as I (again, self-consciously) take this photo for Shape purposes. NOT that I’m throwing this figure into the belly saga debate. Because I’m NOT. But, for what it’s worth, definitely not a bean. -1000 points.

Also... not even a long-torsoed, short-legged bean (his proportions in the film are Like That).

Hourglasses, out of 5 (it’s the end of the review and I literally just decided I’d use hourglasses for this): ⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳ because I’m a soft grader, easily satisfied, and have zero regrets buying this. 5 hourglasses despite the lack of pancita and grey hairs.

In conclusion: Recommended.

City of Immortals RO List

Okay so here it is, the list of ROs like I promised. Both mc's have their own pool of love interests to choose from with little overlap.

Here you’ll get a description of the ROs and some information on how the mc or others might view them. Also some info on the mc’s.

Mc1

Born to be a soldier by design, they were afflicted with immortality and stopped aging entirely once they hit thirty. A side effect—or perhaps a feature—is the beast that all but lives inside them, taking control when they feel incredibly strong emotions, though most often when anger is present. Where once they held full control of it, of the transformation they go through, now they must wrestle with its control with each passing day.

You are what’s called a Hunter. Every settlement has them, but Eden has the most. Caroline controls all her hunters from Eden, though ‘Hunter’ may be a bit of an oversimplification of the job description. Yes, one of their main jobs is providing food and other resources for the settlement, but they’re also bounty hunters, keepers of the peace, and are also often recruited for odd jobs when they have no contracts to fill. Perhaps the most important rule in Hunting, is that you always work in pairs.

Caroline: She/her

The best way to describe Carol is ‘short’, with a pair of unblinking amber eyes and a wind-buffeted, naturally tanned complexion. Her russet curls, while  usually out of her face, never seem to stay tied back for long, a seemingly constant slew of curls sticking to her forehead. A jagged scar cuts across the knuckles on her right hand.

Caroline is unrelenting. She knows what her settlement needs and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t get it—to save the lives of those she must oversee she is willing to do anything. Within reason. Truthfully, Caroline never asked to be made the leader of Eden, the job just sort of fell into her lap one day and no one bothered to take it from her. You’ve worked for her for years by the start of chapter one, and if you’ve learned anything about her it’s that she doesn’t do smalltalk. She’s been in a relationship with Lowrie for years now, and as far as you can tell, they’re very happy with one another.

Lowrie: non-binary, they/them pronouns

Impossibly tall and scrawny, Lowrie’s skin is constantly burned red by the sun, seemingly unable to tan no matter what they do. Their face is long, with ash-coloured, shoulder-length hair that would usually hide their grey eyes but is otherwise kept out of their face with a blue-patterned scarf.

Some have called Lowrie stuck up in the past for their less than talkative nature but that would be an oversimplification. In truth, they just aren’t fond of talking—which is probably why they get on with Harley so well—and more shy than anything else. One of Eden’s finest Hunters, they spend most of their time in the sweltering heat of Wasteland bringing bandits in and shooting any of the mangy beasts that stray too close to Eden. The rest of their time is spent managing the bar with Caroline and Harley, tending to keep to themself. You’ve worked with Lowrie in the past, and as far as you can tell there’s little love lost between the two of you. 

Carol + Lowrie poly:

Caroline and Lowrie are poly and in a committed relationship with one another. They will not leave one another for monogamy with mc, however, you don’t have to be in a throuple with them—though that’s definitely on the table—you can simply be with one, who is with both you and the other. Lowrie is also currently casually seeing Harley. Carol is not seeing anyone else.

Mordred: he/him.

With a seemingly constant fuzz along his jaw, and a never-ending supply of little scars littering his warm olive skin, his hair tends to cover everything but his yellow eyes and the deep bags underneath. His hair is typically tied into a loose bun at the back of his head, mostly obscuring his pierced, slightly pointed ears.

Mordred is a hot-headed, easily irritated young man who’s been by your side since day one. You dragged yourselves out of the crumbling ruins of Ledala together, you fought together, and now you work together as Hunters. Partner’s in crime doesn’t quite cover your relationship but it’s certainly close. In recent years, however, your relationship has strained—perhaps it’s due to past mistakes getting in the way, or past feelings, but either way at the start of the book he’s nowhere to be found.

At the start of the game you can determine just what your relationship is with him—it’s strained at this point but the reasons why are totally up to you. He can also potentially have been an old flame of MC2.

Ridley: Gender variable

Ridley is an energetic person with a pair of bright green eyes constantly sparkling with a glint of adventure. Despite their heavily-muscled frame, they seem to constantly be hiding behind their oversized glasses, a veil of their shaggy red hair, and a slouch that makes them out to be much smaller than they are.

Ridley is… an enigma. While technically a Hunter, they seem much more interested in the pursuits of science and research than holding off rabid beasts with nothing but a gun that’s falling apart and a rusty sword. Of course, they can hold their own well enough, but when they’re meant to be spending their time training or helping out—and indeed, even on their time off—they’re usually found traipsing around in the desert looking for… who knows what.

Doc: She/her

Doc is stocky and sharp-jawed, dark brown, almost black eyes always watching. Her dense curls are shoulder-length and appear twisted together and held back behind her head. The tip of her left ear appears to have been torn off somehow.

Not known for her bedside manner, Doc travels between settlements to tend to the sick, injured, and broken, and though none can particularly vouch for her interpersonal skills (though who can say anyone has particularly good ones, these days?), they can certainly do so for her medicinal accomplishments. Some think her a wandering ghost, aiding those who need help to make up for the sins of her past, others simply see her as a woman seeking to do her part for the good of Wasteland, regardless, if you get on her bad side she’s been known to be liberal with her gun. Or so the rumors say.

J. Allard: Gender variable

Allard is a nervous-looking, shifty individual with short but messy brown hair flecked with grey. Constantly fidgeting with the ring on their thumb, their stutter becomes more obvious the more nervous they are. Though their eyes hide behind a pair of darkened glasses, a pallid face a week out from its last wash they are, completely, honest. Trust me.

J. Allard is a totally normal priest. There is nothing strange about them, they simply want what is best for you and your companions.

Mc2

Dragged down into the depths of the earth on the day Ledala fell, you never knew of the city beneath the surface. Your sibling died that day, you’re sure of it, and a part of you died with them—the beast no longer responds to your call and you’re still left injured from whatever afflicted you and your comrades that day. The man who saved you set you to work for him—sorry, with him—and now you walk perpetually in the darkness of a city long since forgotten by the sun, with people named after the remnants of an old world you never knew existed. You were never meant to survive that night, and every day the world around you reminds you of that.

Arthur: he/him

Arthur doesn’t look quite there half the time. His skin is translucent, his pale blue eyes impossibly far away, platinum blond hair little more than wispy strands atop his head. Most of his body is otherwise covered completely by that old, brown coat of his. There’s light freckling across his nose.

Arthur saved you that night. A Private Investigator by trade, he brought you on to work together because you had no where else to go. Maybe because of it you should be closer than you are but there’s always been a distance between you he’s been unwilling to cross. Either way, despite working together—living together—he keeps to himself and you try to keep to yourself in turn. Still, you can’t help but notice the disdain he has for the City Council and their lackeys.

Perci: she/her

Perci is constantly smiling. Relaxed of posture, her straight hair once ashy brown is now dyed silver. It’s cut short at the sides and back, creating an undercut, most of her fringe tucked behind her ears to reveal a pair of dark brown, monolid eyes. She seems allergic to sleeves, taking whatever chance she gets to show off her cybernetic arm and the colourful tattoos that adorn her flesh arm.

A friend of Arthur who sometimes helps with investigations. She’s friendlier than he is with you, even inviting you out on occasion, but rebellion is on her lips more and more nowadays, and she isn’t subtle about it. You haven’t seen her in quite a while—as far as you can tell she and Arthur aren’t on speaking terms anymore after that big fight they had a few months back. As far as you can tell, she’s moved on and you certainly wouldn’t blame her if she has Council dogs on her heels.

Saga: Saga is always the same gender as your mc is.

Saga’s hair is a deep blue in colour, their black roots just barely growing through. Half of their head is shaved, the other half left chest-length and braided over their shoulder. Though their entire body seems to interwoven with tech, what is perhaps most interesting about them is the angular tattoo that crawls down the right side of their face. This is probably why they come to you completely covered in muck and baggy clothing.

Saga shows up at your door with a different name and a job. You aren’t given why, only the how, only the what. They’re stubborn and flighty in equal measure, suspicious of everyone around them including yourself. Oh, they dress the part of a street rat well, but the cash they have just on hand is nothing to blink at and, underneath all that grime, their skin is perfectly unmarred by the ravages of time.

Deimos: he/him, gay

Whether or not Deimos’ strength is his own or from borrowed, military-grade tech is anyone’s guess, but no one’s ever bothered to ask. Though he’s tall, he isn’t necessarily as muscular as the fear he commands would suggest. His eyes glow orange, black hair trimmed but not maintained, and his grin is enough to stop anyone in their tracks. For whatever reason, he always wears warm clothes.

Deimos is a Council dog who’s been hounding Arthur for a few years now. You’ve never officially met him; somehow whenever he drops into the office you always manage to be out. Whether that’s coincidence or because Arthur sends you out on errands very conveniently at those times it’s not for you to say. Somehow, he never seems to do too much damage to your colleague.

Adrastea: Non-binary, they/them or she/her pronouns, only attracted to nb or female mc’s

Adrastea has been voted the city’s most attractive person many years in a row now. Everything about them is perfect; perfect smile, perfect blue eyes, perfect cascading coils of iridescent hair, yet somehow despite their well-calculated appearance it’s like there’s a tiger waiting to pounce on any wary admirer who comes too close.

While not a member of the council they hold great sway simply by virtue of their age and the fact they’re so beloved by the populace. You’ve seen them on the holos, how they’re oh, so giving to the needy and even invite the commonfolk to their lavish parties all the important council members attend. It’s an act, it has to be; through their gorgeous smile and all those sheer dresses they seek nothing if not attention. A lot of their history is shrouded and deleted from public record, but you do know that they were once a head scientist that took part in the very same project that supposedly made you what you are today.

Dagda: gender variable

Dagda is the perfectly attractive face everyone sees on their screens every night. In a world of cybernetic bodies and unnaturally bright lights, they are the one person who almost looks... natural. With a perfectly cultivated appearance of salt and pepper hair, soulful brown eyes, and that winning smile, nothing about them is their own; everything they do exactly what everyone else tells them to do.

The mouthpiece of the Council, Dagda is seen to be charming and down to earth in the vids. They say Ledala is prospering more than it has in decades, that the crime rates are lowering thanks to the wonderful work they and their colleagues on the Council are doing. Of course, there always has been a certain emptiness behind their eyes. When the camera isn’t rolling, you wonder what they really think.

Brothers

The portal opened and out spilled Inkdrop - the black shadeling nocturne, and Muerto the young grey coatl. They were here to deliver a letter on behalf of Nullity.

Guerra - the coral red mirror was half asleep, with his son - a young thistle banescale wrapped up in his arms. But with the sound of the portal Guerra sprung awake. He stood over his son and pulled his lips back in a snarl.

Inkdrop approached him with an envelope clutched in her claws. His snarling made her nervous but she had made a promise.

“Hello Guerra! I have a-”

Guerra stood over her, his sharp teeth too close to her head.

“Stay away from my son!” He growled.

Inkdrop shrunk, literally. She could feel her scales begin to melt. Her ink stained the invitation.

“Hey!” Muerto puffed out his feathers. Guerra was much bigger than him. And stronger too. But he didn’t let his fear of his brother prevent him from protecting Inkdrop. He put himself in between the snarling mirror and the melting nocturne.

“Don’t yell at Inky!”

Guerra and Muerto made eye contact, both pissed off and snarling. Spittle dripped from Guerra’s mouth and Muerto had his claws around the hilt of his sword. If Guerra made a move, Muerto would not hesitate to hurt his brother.

Newtt, Guerra’s son, wasn’t sure what to make of this so-called danger. He tilted his head and looked at Inkdrop. She had regained control of her body and was solid once more. Sadly, the damage had been done to the invitation, but it was still readable and that was what mattered.

Guerra blinked.

“Muerto?” 

“Yeah it’s me you idiot,” Muerto still had his grip on his sword.

Guerra relaxed and took a step back from Muerto “I… I’m sorry I didn’t-”

“Oh so NOW you’re sorry?” Muerto still didn’t let his guard down “Over 180,000 years and now you’re sorry?”

“Muerto I… I didn’t mean…,” Guerra took a deep breath “You’re right. But I am sorry.”

Inkdrop squealed in surprise “Hey give that back!”

Both Muerto and Guerra turned toward her to see that Newtt had snuck up to her and stole a piece of jerky from her satchel.

The young banescale giggled playfully as he ran back to his father with his prize.

“Newtt, Kex will be back any minute with food! You shouldn’t steal,” Guerra said, trying his best to be cross with the child, but it was difficult for him. He hated to see his son upset, and the last thing he wanted to do was to hurt him. “I’m sorry. He’s not used to others. He doesn’t know any better. He only hatched a week ago.”

Inkdrop laughed “It’s fine. We don’t need it. I keep those around mainly for Hiraeth. When they’re hungry they get HANGREY.”

Muerto finally let go of the sword. He dropped to all fours and his feathers flattened slightly.

“So you’re babysitting hatchlings now?”

“It’s not babysitting if it’s your own kid. This is Newtt, my son.”

“Your son?” Muerto glanced at the banescale chewing on the jerky and then back to his mirror brother.

“Yes. My son.”

Muerto was about to respond but he was cut off by a newcomer.

“Hey Gorey! I got us some grub- Uh,” A blue snake man, a serthis, had a burlap bag that was leaking blood over his back “Who the fuck are they?”

“Kex,” Guerra motioned for the serthis to move closer. He slithered so he was next to Guerra “This is my little brother and his uh,”

“My little sister,” Muerto said with a stern look.

Kex looked at Muerto and then Inkdrop “Huh. You did say your family was strange. But then again,” He dropped the burlap sack and Newtt ran up to it, wagging his tail “So is ours.”

“This is my boyfriend, Kex.” Guerra smiled as he watched Kex pull out a bloody rat from the sack and toss it to Newtt. Newtt caught it in the air and began tearing it to pieces. 

“Ah,” Muerto said “So where’d the kid come from?”

“We found him as an egg a bit ago. He came from that banescale nest where the adults-”

“Died. Yeah I know. Some god war.” Muerto stared directly at Guerra and he flinched “I keep somewhat up to date with this world’s politics.”

“Oh that’s surprising.”

Muerto’s tail flicked “What are you implying?”

“Well you never cared about the politics of our world. Of your kingdom.”

“Hey I was a kid! I’m still a kid! That… None of that should have been my responsibility in the first place!”

“I’m just saying if you were paying at least a little attention then the Underworld wouldn’t have been taken over by demons.”

“Yeah well if you weren't such a dumbass, then maybe you wouldn���t have spread the violence the demons loved so much!”

Guerra bit his tongue and took a deep breath “Alright fine. Let’s drop it. I’m sorry. It’s fine. The Underworld will be fine. Mom is working on it. She’ll fix things, like she always does.”

Muerto snorted “Like that bitch has ever fixed anything in her life.”

“Don’t talk about our mother like that.”

“She was hardly my mom. I hope she dies. I hope she rots. I hate her.”

“You have no idea what she does everyday! How hard she fights off Nefarious to keep us safe! You have no idea what she’s been through!”

“Uh huh. She sure did a great job at keeping me safe.”

“You were… a different circumstance.”

“Go ahead and fucking say it Guerra. I’m not afraid of the truth anymore.”

Guerra kept his mouth shut.

“You still think I’m a monster, don’t you? Well at least I'll never be the monster you were.”

“I never meant-”

“Does your boyfriend know? Will you ever tell your son?”

“Kex knows enough. And like you’re one to talk. We’re both murderers here. Don’t act so innocent, Muerto.”

“Oh don’t fucking do this. What I did and what you did are not the same.”

“I don’t know. I wasn’t even aware of most of my actions. You on the other hand…”

Muerto growled. Cold black flames began to appear around him.

“Stop it you two!” Inkdrop spoke up. The flames disappeared. She had the brothers’ full attention.

“We came here to give you this,” Inkdrop handed Guerra the invitation. 

“What is this?” Guerra handled it gingerly, as if afraid it was poisonous.

“Just open it and read, dumbass.” Muerto snarled.

“It’s an invitation. From Nullity.” Inkdrop answered.

“Who?”

“Nullity? Our niece?” Muerto hissed.

“Oh. Right. One of Naperone’s.” Guerra opened the letter and read it “So. She really wants us all together?”

“A family reunion. Yeah. Minus Nap and Saga.”

“Oh so we’re the good kids then?”

“Nullity seems to think so. Although if it were up to me, you wouldn’t be invited at all.”

“So, do you think you’ll be coming?’ Inkdrop asked.

“I think so. As long as Kex and Newtt can come too.”

“I don’t see why not!” Inkdrop smiled.

“Whoa Gorey hold up,” Kex said. Newtt was sleeping on his lap, content now that his belly was full “I don’t think me going will be such a great idea.”

“Why not?”

“No offense but…” Kex looked at Muerto and then looked away when Muerto made eye contact “Your family seems like. A lot.”

“Don’t worry you’ll have me by your side the whole time and besides my family… it won’t be just me and Muerto bickering I promise. The rest of my family are really nice! Well not Nap or Saga, but! They’re not going to be there so it’ll be fine!”

“Maybe I’ll just stay here and watch over Newtt…”

“No wait, I want you to meet my parents! They’ll love you, and Newtt! Besides… you’ll finally get to see what I really look like.”

“Hmm. I have been curious about this true form of yours.” Kex turned to Muerto “Hey. Coatl.”

“Muerto.”

“Right. Is it true his face is… well shaped like mine?”

“He doesn’t have any scales but yeah. Our faces have the same structures as yours.”

“I also have these cat ears that I think you’re gonna think are adorable.” Guerra said and approached Kex. He nuzzled the side of his head and Kex giggled.

“Stop it you goof! Your brother is going to think I’m a big softy.”

“Ah, don’t mind what he thinks. So? Will you come with me?”

“Oh alright. But mostly so I can see that cute face of yours.”

“So I should be prepared to pick you up on the day of the reunion?” Inkdrop asked.

Guerra nodded “Yes. We will be there.”

“Great! Nullity will be so happy!”

 Inkdrop created another portal. Muerto looked back at Guerra before he entered it and flipped him the bird. Inkdrop hopped in after him and the portal closed.

“Do you get along with any of your siblings?” Kex asked.

“No,” Guerra sighed.

“I’m glad I don’t have siblings.”

“It sure sounds nice.”

Night began to fall in the Scarred Wasteland and Kex and Guerra began to set up a shelter for the night. Guerra felt strangely energized. He was looking forward to a break from this. He was looking forward to seeing his parents again. To be himself again.

Wildlife and livestock, the useful and the pest.

The few outsiders who’ve managed to find their way to Lokfar and survive to tell the tale will tell you, “everything’s bigger in Lokfar”. The people there are larger than most, even by more general Freljordian standards, and the wildlife is, for the most part, humongous. Some say there’s something in the land that makes everything grow much, much larger than life.

Unlike the Winter’s Claw, most Lokfarian tribes are sedentary and maintain settlements located within Lokfar’s milder biomes, better suited to sustain their lifestyle. Within those towns and villages, the Lokfarian four-horned sheep is the livestock of choice, closely followed by goats, Snowtusk pigs (a domesticated cousin of the much larger and fearsome Speartusk Boars), hens, geese and ducks. Wealthier tribes that benefit from larger and greener lands would also keep horses and small herds of Stàlhof yaks.

When the ísjór breaks, announcing the beginning of summer and the raiding season, the four-horns sheep shed their thick woolen coat. Large fat stores enable them to withstand the cruel Lokfarian climate until their wool grows back, in time for the next winter. Much larger than their southern counterpart, a single sheep can shed enough wool to clothe an entire family. None of their parts go to waste: an old four-horns can be harvested for food, tallow, bones and horns. Their guts are made into tough cord used for fishing lines, sutures and even stringed instruments. Once processed, whatever will not be used or consumed by humans is then used by hunters as bait, or turned into feed for carnivorous pets.

Speaking of, Lokfarians love their pets! The sort of animal one keeps as a pet can be influenced by a variety of factors: which god the tribe worships, what lives in the vicinity of the settlement, one’s profession, social status, wealth or lack thereof... 

Dogs are a common choice, due in part to their versatility. They hunt, guard livestock, fight off intruders, forage, orient themselves through blizzards, pull sleighs, while simultaneously being loyal family companions. And they’re great to warm your feet on a cold winter’s night. Being closer to wolves than breeds present in other parts of the world, they’re a popular pick among the many followers of the wolf-headed god.

Sailors and fishermen often like to take cats as their pet. Originally tamed lynxes tasked with hunting bilge rats and other pests, they have been crossed with cat breeds brought back from raids on southern lands to achieve a more domesticated temperament. Which really is another way to say “reduce the likelihood that they will shred your toddler into ribbons while you’re busy catching fish”. Similar in look to its more feral ancestor, the Lokfarian cat is a beautiful (but deadly to oversized rodents) creature, with its thick and often grey fur, powerful build and sizeable paws (and accordingly large toe beans).

The Lokfarian Laughing Bird, or falkackla, is another favoured pet, an elegant creature protected by all noble tribes. It takes its name from its signature cry, a deep “hyoh”. While their raptor-like features look intimidating, and they have the largest wingspan of the local birds, falkackla are in fact fairly docile and will shy away from a fight, especially against creatures they recognise as predators. After all, Lokfar is a hard enough place to survive in, there’s no need to make life harder for themselves by picking fights, losing feathers and dying of exposure. They are endowed with a razor sharp beak capable of breaking the frozen flesh they like to scavenge, left behind by predatory hunting packs. As such, they’re happy enough to stick around hunters, or really any human who’ll let them feed on their scraps. Chortles of falkackla will sometimes gather around young hunters, chests puffed out, and attempt to chase them away from their kills, making for an interesting test of character. If the birds succeed, their laugh can be heard throughout the entire territory.

Birds of prey such as Blueback falcons, eagles and owls are more animals typically kept as pets because of their usefulness.

Outside the relatively safe bounds of these settlements, one needs not travel far to find themselves in complete wilderness. An outsider might encounter (abnormally large) rabbits, feral yaks and musk-oxen, reindeers and moose. And where these roam, predators are usually near. Wolves and white bears, among others, stalk their hunting grounds relatively undisturbed, but even the stronger packs won’t venture too far up north. Deep into the endless wasteland of white dwells a creature few would dare provoke: the vanjakyrm.

The unfortunate traveller might see a flash of bright pink, right before getting torn to shreds by this very angry, very territorial landwyrm. Its long body is protected by tough pink scales, contrasting starkly against the snow; a warning to any creature foolish enough to wander into its territory. Feathers of a darker pink puff out around its neck and cover its wings. Don’t let its fairly small size fool you: the vanjakyrm is a bloodthirsty bundle of pure speed and fury, armed with long fangs and razor sharp claws. A single individual can take down an ill prepared hunting party within seconds, although they much prefer preying on mammoths, whose frozen carcasses will sustain a vanjakyrm mating pair for much longer. Many sagas tell the stories of mighty warriors setting out in search of the incongruous serpent, but few end with a triumphant return…

This is about a colonization of inhumans (people with powers) who live on a city, named Attilan, on the moon. When the king’s brother betrays him and forms a coup against him, the royal family is forced to leave Attilan and flee to Earth. Down on Earth, they make friends and within all of that, they learn to see the flaws of themselves and their city.
