Kamisato Ayato x Reader
Tumblr media
I got sick while making this so if some scenes/parts just don't make sense I apologize No, I'm definitely not using my sickness as an excuse for my bad writing
WARNINGS: !!Mentions of Y/Ns mental state!! (Only once at the start) Super ooc, bad grammar, profanity, and full of nonsense
Words: 1484
Part 1, Part 2 (You’re here!)
Tumblr media
It’s been a few months since you left the estate
You still haven’t received any news about Ayato's return, which makes you slightly worried, but hey, at least these past few months, your mental health has gotten better
No Ayato = no unnecessary drama = peace = better mental state
Tumblr media
Your shop has been doing well
The old regulars are now back and happily buying the things they needed but couldn't get due to the market price
Everything is back to normal
Tumblr media
Yeah, no. It isn't completely back to normal
You have quite the reputation and even have multiple names. One popular name is "Two-faced Demon"
Why? There have been rumors circulating that you talked badly about Ayato, your spouse, around others while remaining an innocent doll around Ayato and vice versa
And due to your not-so-favorable reputation, you sometimes get some unwanted customers that want to ruin your business
Thankfully, though, you have some reliable friends that keep unwanted customers out
But even that has downsides
Some people are now wary of your shop and refuse to even look in the same direction as your shop when they pass by it, as they might suddenly get attacked by being an “unwanted customer”. It's pretty stupid to do, but it’s best to be cautious, right?
Reopening the shop has helped you, sure, but even that becomes stressful
It’s hard to manage it all by yourself, and you surely can’t leave it all alone when you go adventuring in the near future
And so you came up with a solution to reduce the overwhelming stress and future problems concerning the shop. Hire employees!
With the help of Thoma and Ayaka, you managed to scout a few trustworthy people who’re perfect for the job
All of them are quick learners and hard workers, which is perfect! With only a few more pieces of guidance, you can peacefully leave everything in their capable hands
Tumblr media
Two months passed quickly, and everyone can now handle everything by themselves, even without your presence
Li Hua, in particular, is quite the master at her job.
You won’t have any lingering worries with her taking care of everything there
And with that, you’re all ready to go back to adventuring!
Tumblr media
“Leaving already?”
“Hm? Oh! Heizou, yup! The unsolved mysteries out there are calling out to me."
“Oh really?”
“I can hear it whispering, “Y/N~ Y/N~~ Come solve this mysterious ancient puzzle!””
“Puzzles..Say, what if I come with you?”
“No, you ca—” You get cut off by Heizou pressing a finger on your lips
“Ah, ah, ah, I promise it’ll be fun! Besides, I can prove to be extremely useful to you when it comes to solving puzzles.”
“Yeah, but—”
“Do you doubt my abilities? If so, that really hurts my poor, poor heart.”
“I know your capabilities better than anyone Heizou. We grew up together.”
“If you know what my capabilities are, then why won’t you let me come then." Heizou pouts.
“You perfectly know why.”
“Do I?”
“Don’t play dumb with me. You have an important job here, Heizou. I can’t just take you with me.”
“I don’t even know when I’ll be back in Inazuma.”
“Y/N! Everything’s already set, just waiting on you,” Beidou semi-whispers.
“I’ll be there soon. Just..Saying some goodbyes to a friend.”
Heizou watches from the sidelines as you interact with Beidou. A tinge of jealousy and longing is present in his eyes, but it goes away quickly before anyone can see it
"Soo, I guess this is it. I’ll try my best to keep in contact with you. Promise. And maybe when we meet again, we can have a drink or two? "You held out a pinky finger towards Heizou
Heizou chuckles. “Well then, I’ll hold you up to that promise.” He intertwines his own pinky with yours
'Oh..'
Only now, as you say your final goodbyes to Heizou, do you realize how charming your best friend is.
His burgundy hair is flowing in the wind, his light olive green eyes are glistening in the sun, and his charming smile shows a hint of mischievousness.
'I'm sure whoever he'll get together with will be lucky.'
You quickly turn away from him upon realizing what you’re currently thinking
“Hey~ Why’d you turn away from me so harshly? Do you really not want to see my face that badly?" He says in a teasing tone, almost as if knowing what was going on inside your head
“That’s not it. I just—Ugh." You stumble over your words. Now that you think about it, Heizou has always had this effect on you. The man just knew how to make you speechless and stumble on your own words
“Alright, alright, that’s enough teasing.” Beidou interrupts
'Beidou! My savior!'
With that, Beidou drags you over to the Alcor(Crux fleet?? What’s the difference again)
While boarding, you catch a glimpse of platinum blonde hair
After settling down in your temporary room on the ship
You set out to find the owner of the platinum blonde hair. It’s been quite a long time since you last met, after all
Tumblr media
“It seems that fate has once again made our paths cross.”
Oh, how you missed hearing that melodic voice of his
“It seems so..” You sit down next to where he sits at the edge
“Who would’ve thought you’d be here all along?”
Silence envelopes you both
“It hurt a lot, you know..”
Kazuha remains silent and listens attentively
“You suddenly went missing after the shogunate declared you to be an enemy for eternity. I was worried sick. I thought that maybe you’d been killed.”
“I’m sorry” is all that leaves Kazuha's lips. It’s spoken so softly and quietly that one would think it was just a whisper of the wind
There in the back of the ship, hidden away from everyone, you sit by Kazuha as you cry into his arms and whisper the things you’ve always wanted to say to the man, and even the things that are of another matter. The worries and pain you’ve kept to yourself
It's sort of ironic that instead of being open to your husband, you’re much more open to your other friends. Especially this man called Kaedehara Kazuha, he has this air around him that makes you feel secure and relaxed and spill all your secrets and feelings, adding to the fact that you've known this man for much longer than you've known your husband.
You know that whatever secret you tell him, he’ll keep it to himself until his very last breath. That’s how much you trust and confide in Kazuha.
Tumblr media
"Hey..I'm sorry for, y'know, this whole crying thing.."
"It's perfectly fine, dove. It's best to let it all out rather than keeping it to yourself."
"Besides, isn't listening to your troubles also part of my job as your knight?"
"Pfft, my knight, huh? Well, then, Mr. Knight care to tell me why you didn't bother to tell me where you went? As my knight, it's only right for you to report to me."
"That's..I apologize. I had to flee immediately and couldn't risk putting you in danger by contacting you."
"What about contacting me by using another person? Like, I don't know, making Beidou deliver a message to me."
"I'd rather not trouble her with my problems. She's already done me a big favor by letting me hide out here."
"Fine, fine. I won't push the issue any further. Guess you're forgiven for now, Mr. Knight."
"Why, thank you, my liege" he chuckles while giving you a bow
The day ends with your and Kazuha's laughter filling the air
Tumblr media
Once the moon has disappeared, the sun appears again on the horizon.
And the sun signifies that a new day has come.
You woke up to the sounds of the lively crew moving on and about. After getting yourself ready, you begin to head out.
Upon arriving on the deck, you notice how you've almost reached Liyue Harbor. It seems that the sea decided to be kind and didn't cause the voyage to be longer than necessary.
After what felt like hours, you've finally arrived and docked.
Kazuha, being the gentleman that he is, decided to lend you a hand in getting off the ship.
"I'd love to show you around, but unfortunately, the Alcor will be leaving soon after getting some resources we need." Kazuha tried to hide his unhappiness by giving you his signature charming smile, but as you've known him since you guys were kids, you quickly saw past his facade.
Seeing Kazuha smile with the sun perfectly behind him, as if purposefully illuminating him, is a breath-taking sight. First Heizou, now Kazuha, why is it only now that you've noticed how good-looking your childhood friends are?
To be fair, Kazuha was quite popular with the ladies; even when you guys were still children, the girls would flock around him as if he were some deity.
'Wait, no, Y/N, stop thinking about these things. You already have a husband! You have to stay loyal, no matter how shitty your husband may be. You can't just cheat or think these things about other people.'
'Well, this is it. A new place, a new life'
Tumblr media
giuwfgeahsjk, this is it for this part! I might make the next part tomorrow, but for now, I need my sleep.
NOTE: I DO NOT CONDONE INFIDELITY. THIS IS PURELY A WORK OF FICTION.

Lost in Inazuma 7
Characters: Thoma, Kamisato Ayato, Kamisato Ayaka
Genre: Sagau, gender neutral reader
TW: Violence, minor blood, panic attack, threats of self harm (mentioned)
2.3 k words
AN: This is a bit longer than usual, I hope you enjoy it. If you want to be added to the taglist, please interact with this post. There will be 2-3 more chapters.
Your role shifted from general servant to something close to a medic. Maybe ‘healer’ would be more accurate, considering that you had no real training.  You had guessed medicinal plants in Teyvat were just much more potent than the world you came from. Maybe they were, but not to the extent you assumed. Apparently you were uncommonly gifted. Your surprisingly effective night-time tea was proof enough.
Injuries were surprisingly common, though thankfully they tended to be minor. A burn, a scrape, various aches and pains. Sometimes a dislocated joint or a broken bone, but those were rarer. Winter was coming, and that meant colds and such. You handled them quickly so the sickness couldn’t spread.
And of course tea for the Kamisatos and Thoma. Ayato had recommended your tea to his sister and now that too was part of your routine. Clove tea for Thoma, a black tea and lavender blend for Ayato, and a cup for Ayaka. She didn’t have persisting health issues, so she allowed you to pick.
She smiled as you entered her office. “What will I be having today?”
“A chai tea from Sumeru.” You place the tray on a low table before kneeling next to the princess. “Any worries you'd like to vent?”
“No. Peace talks are progressing smoothly. One of the shogun’s men even gifted some mochi. I gave them to Thoma though, they were his favorite flavor.”
“What flavor would that be?”
“Black sesame. Maybe you could buy some on your next outing together.” She smiled.
If it was her brother speaking you would have understood it as teasing but she meant it completely genuinely. It didn’t help the blush on your face though. “I’ll definitely keep that in mind.”
“He seems happier now that you’re here. Not that he was unhappy before, but since you’ve arrived he’s been practically glowing.”
“I doubt it.” You waved off her comment.
“No, seriously!” She grabbed your hand. “Watch his expression when you enter the room to serve his tea. I guarantee you, his eyes will light up!”
“Alright. Speaking of which, I should go perform my duties.”
“Yes. And make sure my brother goes to sleep at a reasonable hour.”
“Of course, Lady Ayaka.” You bowed and left.
You quickly brewed another pot of tea and scurried off to the kitchen. “Thoma!” You called. The clatter of kitchenware stopped as the cooks turned to you.
“He decided to retire early for the night, he’s feeling a bit sick.” The head cook spoke matter of factly.
“How did you get him to stop working?” You asked, disbelieving.
“We threatened to send you to badger him and he went on his own.”
You laughed. “I’m not that scary, am I?”
“One could argue.”
“Really?! Fine. If I’m so scary, I bet none of you want to be treated by me anymore.”
“Please, we’re sorry!” One of the newer cooks cried out.
“I’m kidding, don’t worry. Thoma’s in his room, right?”
The head cook nodded and you were off.
You knocked on his door. “Thoma?” You kept your voice soft to avoid triggering a headache.
“Come in.” Thoma’s tired voice called from inside. He was lying on a tatami mat, his futon pulled to his chin. He kneaded his forehead with his hands.
“How are you feeling?” You knelt next to him and pressed a hand to his face. “You’re hot.”
“I’m what?” His face heated up even more.
“Your forehead’s burning up.”
“Oh.”
“What did you think I meant?”
“Nothing. Please don’t stay so close, you’ll catch it.” He tried to push you away gently.
“Don’t worry about me. Have you ever seen me sick?” You joked. It was true though, you hadn’t caught anything since you arrived in Teyvat. Maybe the microbes here couldn’t work with your biology. There were so many questions you had about these sorts of things but you doubted you could ever find the answer. Especially given the situation with the Shogun.
“No, but…”
“It’s my duty to treat you. Now, here’s your tea.” You poured him a cup and held it to his lips.
He averted his eyes as he drank it.
It took you a second to realize your position, bent over him and close enough to count his eye lashes.  “Sorry, I didn’t notice.” You sat up quickly to give him more space.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s getting late, you should probably get to Lord Ayato.”
“But you’re sick and…” You sighed. “I guess I’ll just check in with you tomorrow. Don’t be afraid to call for me if you need me before then.”
“I will, don’t worry about me.”
"Of course I do. It's not like you're quick to ask for help, otherwise I'd have been here earlier."
He smiled sheepishly. "I know, it's really not a big deal though."
"Please, just ask for help." You collected his cup and left.
Next was Ayato. He was always last due to the nature of his treatment. To be fair, he would probably be last even if you didn’t offer him sleep medication. He still scared you a little, despite knowing he wouldn’t hurt you.
“Good evening, commissioner.” You opened the door carefully.
“Good evening.” He raised his head and offered a small smile. “What time is it?”
“About eleven.”
“That late already?” He sighed. “There’s a few more papers that I need to sign…”
“No. You’ll get distracted by more and more work until it’s sunrise.” You objected.
His eyes narrowed slightly. “Talking back, are we?”
“I’m sorry sir, I just-”
“Don’t worry, I’m glad to hear you speak your mind, even in my presence.” You noticed the slightest smile on his face and the softness in his eyes you missed before.
“I’ll start brewing the tea then.”
He watched you like a hawk as you worked. You wondered if he blinked.
“There you go. Lots of sugar, the way you like.” You held out the cup but he ignored it, instead fixing his gaze on your mask.
“May I examine your mask?”
“Yes, sir.”
He leaned in closer and ran a finger over one edge. “It’s chipped. How long has it been like this?”
“A week, sir.”
“Did it happen during the… incident?”
You nodded.
He withdrew. “I’ll find a craftsman to fix it for you.”
“You really don’t have to.” You shook your head. “Plus, I wouldn’t be able to cover my face until it was fixed, and that might take awhile.”
“Then I’ll have an artisan make another one.”
“You don’t have to. My current mask still works.”
“Please allow me to do something to mend my mistakes. A nicer room, higher pay, anything you want within reason.”
“I don’t need anything. My room is fine as it is.” Its position allowed you to escape easily if you had to. “And I don’t need more things.” You wouldn’t be able to carry them when you fled.
“There has to be something.”
“There is.” You kept a firm grip on your voice to keep it from shaking. “But you can’t give it to me.”
“I’ll try.” Hope filled his voice.
“Please don’t.” You forced a smile. “I’m happy where I am. I’ll survive.”
“You can hope for more than survival. I won’t pressure you any further, but take my offer into consideration.”
“I will.” You touched the side of the tea cup. “I’ll warm up the milk, otherwise it will be cold.”
“It’s alright. You seem tired. Go rest.”
“Are you sure?”
“Of course.”
“Could you drink it before I leave? So I can make sure you aren’t distracted by work.” You said it as politely as you could.
“A fair request. I did say I’d respect your wishes.” He drank it and as he drew his cup away you saw a faint smile. “Your teas truly are delightful.”
“Thank you, sir.”
You checked Thoma’s room before going to be. He was shivering. You pulled the blanket up to his neck, surprised he hadn’t woken when you entered. He must be a deep sleeper.
__________________________________________________________________-
You awoke to someone banging on your door. A wave of panic overtook you before you recognized his voice. It took another second to process what he was saying.
“Goldie, Thoma isn’t waking up, please, I’m begging you-”
You jumped to your feet and bolted out the door. The sound of blood in your ears drowned out everything else. You slipped as you rounded the corner. A flash of pain erupted on your leg before you stumbled to your feet and kept running.
Ayaka sat by Thoma, her face wet with tears. Besides her a small lantern dimly lit the small room. “You’re here.”
You didn’t respond to her words as you fell to your knees. You shook his shoulders. “Thoma, wake up.” He didn’t. Of course they’d already checked that. You leaned over his face and pressed a hand to his arteries. No breath tickled your cheek; he wasn’t breathing. His pulse was gone. If you were back home you would be dialing 911. That wasn’t an option here, so you did the next best thing. “Did you send someone to get a doctor?”
“Yes, but it will take at least thirty minutes for him to arrive.”
Not good, not good. “Help me move him to the tatami mat.” Your voice came out much more authoritative than you expected it to, but it succeeded in communicating the urgency of the matter. Ayaka was much stronger than she appeared, easily moving him. You positioned yourself next to him and placed your hands in the middle of his chest. “Trust me.” You said before pushing your full weight into his chest, feeling it give way under you. One. You lifted your hands allowing his chest to expand before pushing again. Two. Again. Three, four. You felt something crack under your hands. Five. The door opened. Six, seven. You hummed under your breath to keep time. Seven, eight. Someone was talking. Nine, ten. Everything faded away except for your counting. Thirty. You lifted his chin and pinched his nose. Two breaths and back to chest compressions.
Your wrists ached but you kept going. How many cycles was it? You weren’t keeping track. All you knew was that you were on the 29th compression and you were going to have to do breaths soon. Thirty and you adjusted his head for compressions. He blinked. He blinked! You could feel his breath on your face and a quick check confirmed his pulse was almost back to normal.
"You're back!" You cupped his face in your hands.
"Goldie?" His eyes were wide with shock.
"Yes?”
He tried to sit up and winced from the pain. You pushed him back down gently.
“Careful, your rib is broken.”
“What’s going on?”
“Your heart stopped. I had to compress it to force it to circulate the blood. Unfortunately I accidentally broke a few ribs. I didn’t expect you to wake up.”
“Was that not your goal?” Ayato’s voice joined the conversation.
“Not really.” You thought about how to explain it in a way he could understand. How advanced was medicine in Tevyat?. “It keeps the blood flowing so parts of the body don’t die. Usually the person doesn’t wake up until they are treated by a doctor.” You looked up at Ayato. “Does that make sense?”
He just stared at you, your mask held in one hand. Shoot.
“Please don’t hurt me.” You held your shaking hands up in surrender. “Just let me go, I promise to never come back. Just don’t tell the shogun.”
Ayato gaze narrowed in on your forearms. They had been exposed when you lifted your hand, revealing branching, purple scars. “How did you get these?”
Before you could answer, Thoma called out from behind you. “They’re bleeding.”
No, no, no. You scrambled to cover the wound. It must be a friction burn from when you slipped.
“There are guards outside.” Ayato started, stepping closed as you moved away. “You are–”
You kicked out with your uninjured leg. “You’re going to hurt me!”
“No, I promise—” He just wanted to calm down so you’d be easier to catch.
“You’re going to send me to her!” Your fingers felt metal. A sword. “I won’t let you.” You held the weapon in front of yourself. It shook, your inexperience showing clearly.
“You’re going to hurt yourself!” Ayaka cried, panic evident in her eyes, a panic shared by everyone in the room.
“I will.” You dropped the edge of the sword to your thigh. “If you come closer I will.”
“We won’t hurt , I swear. Just please let me treat you.” Thoma held out his open hand.
You moved closer and extended your leg to allow him to reach. He touched you carefully, as if you were made of glass. Your blood gleamed gold under the light of the lamp. You dared to look at the Kamisatos. They didn’t look angry, you realized. They looked scared, horrified even.
Ayato interrupted the silence. “Who did this to you?”
“Did what?” You asked softly, your voice raspy from yelling.
“Your scars…”
“The shogun. Her lightning-” You trailed off, unable to continue. “Please don’t turn me in.”
“I have no intention of doing so. As our god, it is our duty to protect you.”
You laughed. “A god? I wouldn’t be here if I was a god.”
“No matter what you think, I’ll find a way to prove it to you.” Thoma said, his hand cautiously drifting closer to you.
“Please stay. We’ll take care of you.” Ayato offered.
“Promise?”
“Yes. I swear on my life that no harm will come to you.” Ayato placed a hand on his chest. “The doctor will come soon, rest in my room while he’s here.”

Summary: Thoma and you promised each other to spend the Christmas alone together and to not buy any gifts this year. When Ayaka accidentally tells you he has something planned, you want to do some last minute gift-shopping, but the snow storm seems to have picked up and you’re running out of time!
A/n: Hi hi! I’m quickly breaking my hiatus to post this for the winter event of @dustofthedailylife!! I really liked the prompts but my life turned upside down so it ended up really hard for me to write this TuT But I hope it’s at least fun for one person! XD Anyways- I’ll be off till the new years most likely :) Sorry for the long wait!
Prompts used: “I guess we’re stuck here until the snow dies down.” & “This is the best gift I’ve ever received in my entire life” - both altered slightly to fit the story better.
Tumblr media
“Are you kidding me?”
The storm outside seems worse than before. The wind has picked up and snowflakes race down from above, a few landing on the glass window in the door before they melt.
You feel your boyfriend Thoma place his hands on your waist before he gently pulls you back into his chest.
“I guess you’re stuck here with me until the snow dies down.”
If it wasn’t for your thick winter coat and the two scarfs he had wrapped around you, you could’ve turned around to see the soft smile on his face moments before he buried his face into the crook of your neck.
Around an hour ago, you had gotten ready for some last minute gift shopping. You both weren’t planning to buy any this year, but after Ayaka accidentally told you Thoma had plans to give you something after all, you wanted to return the favour.
You wonder why he bought you a gift.
Wasn’t it his idea in the first place to stay at home and ‘take things easy’?
“I can’t believe the storm decided to pick up right now! It’s been calm the whole day, and right before I wanted to go shopping it had to pick up again.”
You turn around in Thoma’s arms to lock eyes with him.
He’s wearing a red Christmas sweater with two reindeers on it– one similar to the one you’re wearing under your coat. His hair is messier than most days and his headband is discarded.
Thoma’s eyes soften a moment before his hands move up to your face.
“I told you, I don’t need any gifts.”
He gently cups your cheeks before placing a kiss on your nose.
“But I want to give you one.” You place your own hands over his, “You deserve it! You’ve been working so hard lately, and I know you’re already happy but-”
You sigh.
There’s no winning this argument. Not when all the shops close for Christmas tomorrow, and definitely not with the blizzard outside.
He presses another kiss on your cheek and pulls you in closer. “I don’t need any gifts, because you’re the best gift I’ve ever received in my life.”
He places his forehead against yours. You stay silent like that for a moment before he continues,
“Well…second best.”
You gasp as you pull back to look him in the eyes.
“Taroumaru places above me?” You place a hand against your chest to feign hurt.
“You have to admit, he’s very cute!” Thoma lifts his hands up in the air as he laughs. You gently push him against the shoulder and cross your arms over your chest.
“Maybe I don’t feel so bad for you after all.”
Thoma smiles and captures your hand. “Let’s get that coat off of you, alright?”
“Want me to make us some hot chocolate?” You wiggle your way out of your coat as Thoma gently removes the scarf from your neck.
“I’ll be with you in a minute, alright?”
As Thoma hangs up your coat and scarf, he can hear you rummage around in the kitchen. A few cabinets open before they close, and he can hear you getting a pan to warm the milk in.
You’re really the best lover he could ever wish for.
He stands still in the hallway for a moment. His hand moves to the small box in his pocket.
He really hopes you’ll accept his gift on Christmas and become his partner for life.

In another’s shoes
(Genshin School AU x Fem! Reader) A month has passed since you started your life in Teyvat High School, while struggling with your own insecurities and unpleasant memories with past 'friends', your schools days were passing day by day, until one day after going back home you had an accident. Thinking this is the end, you wake up... but wait, why are you in the body of the most popular girl in your school - Lumine? previous | next
Tumblr media
Thanks @fusaex3 for drawing! Author’s note: I started writing it before I wrote Bakeneko!Kunikuzushi, so this story may be worse than the previous one, I’ll be honest, I’m not sure about this one. I may end up deleting it after some time. Tbh I wanted to add some Genshin boys x reader here, but it may end up being more about friendship if I continue this story, I’m not sure, at first I thought to make that at the end some boys will have special chapters when you end up being with them or something like that. But like I said I’m not even sure if I’ll continue this cause I don’t know if anyone will like this story. I’m sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language.
Prologue
The annoying alarm in my phone woke me from a dream. “What was that dream about again?” It wasn’t a good one that I’m sure. Then why it feels like I should try to remember what it was about? Looking at time in my phone I realized that if I won’t get up soon I’ll be late for school. While dressing up I couldn't help but look at myself in the mirror. -“…” Before any negative thoughts would consume me I shook my head and went to the kitchen to get my breakfast. -“Good morning!” my mom said. I didn’t respond, I went to my mom to hug her, this is my way of saying ‘Good Morning’ when I'm not awake properly or just not feel like talking yet. Mom smiled and hugged me back. I started to make breakfast for myself, after awhile I finally ask: - “Do you have day off?” -“No, but today I start later, so don’t worry I’ll take (little sister name) to school. Also I made lunch for you too!”  -“Thank you.” -“So…How is school? It’s been month since it started, did you make some friends?” I sighed, not feeling like talking about it, yet I don’t want to worry my mom. -“It’s fine I guess… there is one girl in my class, Yoimiya, she’s really nice, sometimes we spend school breaks together.” -“That’s great! You should invite her here sometimes!” mom smiled, happy that I finally made a friend. I got up and got ready to go. I took my backpack and say goodbyes to my mom. “I don't really want to go to school…”  If I think about it Yoimiya was the first one to approach me, no, she’s the first one to approach everyone, she’s a very nice and friendly person. I’m grateful that she wanted to be friends with me, I only wish I would stop worrying about stuff so I could get along with her better. I want to talk more with her, hang out more with her but I still feel slightly shy and the thought of her other friends being more interesting and fun than me is not helping in that matter at all. “Ah, that’s bad! Don’t think like that (y/n)!” Well, it’s hard to not think like that when her friends like Ayaka and Kokomi are really great. Sometimes I was invited to eat lunch with them and Yoimiya. They are kind, smart and of course they are pretty… so pretty that it felt like someone like me shouldn’t sit with them. It's like a potato lying next to beautiful flowers. I would say I’m average person if I’m being ‘nice’ to myself, but I know, compared to them I’m not that interesting at all. -“Good morning!!” someone said, snapping me from my previous thoughts. Turning back I saw a little boy with cute smile. -“Hello Ruu.” I smiled to him “How are you?” Ruu’s smile got wider “At least he’s in good mood”.   -“I’m fine! Today I got up earlier so I could go and see miss Kapatcir and ask if she needs something from shop!” Ruu is truly a sweet child, he’s a kind soul, so kind that scary old miss Kapatcir accepted only him in our neighborhood. I’m glad the old lady is kind to him, compared to his father who always complains that Ruu didn’t finished his duties or that he shouldn’t spend so much time on playground. I understand that as a son of priest he has to learn, so that he could inherit the role in future and take care of shrine but Ruu is still a child, he shouldn’t be that strict with him. At least it seems his father is afraid of miss Kapatcir too, if she is sitting on the bench close to playground then Ruu can spend much more time there playing and goofing around like a kid should do. -“ (y/n)? Are you alright? You look sad today…” -“Ah I’m fine! Sorry! I just… um… had a nightmare, so I didn’t sleep well today haha!” Ruu looked at me, deep in the thought, then he searched for something in his pockets. -“I got something that will make you feel better!” he took my hand and put something in it. It’s a candy. Lavender Melon flavor. -“I hope you like this flavor but if not… then I can give you another one!!” -“This one is fine! Thank you Ruu! You’re the best!” I smiled to him and he showed me his smile again. “He’s so precious, I want to hug him!” -“Oh! Lumine! Aether! Good morning!” the boy run towards twins that came from the corner of street. Lumine and Aether, the most popular twins in our school, normally I don't care about people from other classes but even so I end up knowing who they are, thanks to  Yoimiya and other people from my class. Them being friends with Yoimiya is not surprising, knowing her, but what I heard from her, Ayaka and Kokomi, they made friends with other popular or eccentric kids in our school. How did they do it? They came two weeks after school started and in one week they become so popular. It would be a lie if I said that I’m not jealous of Lumine. She’s very beautiful, smart, confident, she can make friends with anyone, I’m sure many guys have crush on her as well. Her twin brother is good looking too, I understand why some girls from class would talk about him, his face, no, both twins are like angels. I sighed and continue walking to school, passing quickly by Ruu and twins and saying goodbye to little kid. I don’t really want to be noticed by twins but I would feel bad for not saying ‘bye’ to Ruu. After arriving in my school I sighed. “Just survive this day, and another, and another…till the end of school year weh”. While going to my class suddenly someone hugged me from behind. -“Eek!?” I made a weird sound. -“Hehe! Goood Moorning (y/n) ~” Of course it was Yoimiya. -“Good Morning” I said a bit flustered. “It seems that you are full of energy today, did something happened?” -“Nope!~ Can’t I be happy for just seeing my friend?” she said with a smile, still hugging me. Recently, she started hugging me as a hello, I always liked this form of welcoming with people I feel comfortable with. The first time she hugged me, she surprised me that much that I froze in place, she panicked and started asking if she make me uncomfortable, I remember feeling warm and said that I don't mind that. Back then I felt like our friendship improved a little bit. After releasing me from her hold we continued our way toward class. Yoimiya would talk about many things, sometimes I had hard time follow her stories, but it was nice, to listen, to talk with someone. In previous school I did had people who I could call ‘friends’, but things happened and now they are reason that even if I want to make more friends or open more to Yoimiya, those unpleasant memories stops me from doing that. When we reached our class Yoimiya took my hand and guided me to where Ayaka and Kokomi where sitting. The smile that Yoimiya gave me was saying "I won't let you just go to your sit yet!" -“Good Morning!!” Yoimiya said loudly to two girls. After her, I greeted the girls. -“Good Morning to you two too” said Ayaka, bowing politely. -“Ayaka! Stop with this formality! We are friends here! Right (Y/n)?” Yoimiya said and hugged Ayaka, the blue-white hair girl become red on her face, probably not used to others to hug her like that. -“Y-yeah!” at this moment I realized Yoimiya plan, she wants to make me talk more with them. “Too bad my friend, I’m not ready to talk with them without being awkward!” Kokomi giggled, probably amused for what is happening in front her. -“Yoimiya, I think our Kamisato Lady won't be able to take it any longer, if you continue holding her like that” said salmon pink hair girl, smiling at two other girls. -“Sorry Ayaka!” said the light strawberry blonde hair girl, finally letting go of the daughter of Kamisato family. -“I-it’s okay.” Replied the girl with still red face, I think it’s first time for me, to see her losing her composure. We didn't talk that long with each other, before the bell rings signaling that class is about to start. The day in school went slow, too slow. This time Yoimiya went to eat lunch with her other friends from other classes, I didn’t know them and to not feel like third wheel, I decided to spend lunch break alone. Sitting at my regular place outside school building and eating in silence, I was enjoying the peace. Till I heard two loud boys, probably arguing about something. I noticed that Lumine is with them too. One of them was a big guy with long white hair with some parts being red and red horns “I think I heard about him. What was his name again? Amaraki Otto? Anataki Ritto? Eh whatever” and other, slightly smaller than previous one but still taller than Lumine, with ginger hair “Isn’t that guy from Fatui gang? Lumine could even befriend someone from them?”  The boys starting getting louder and louder till Lumine looked at them saying something, making both of them quiet. Then she went towards gym building, while the boys followed her and start probably arguing between each other again. “Being that popular must be tiring sometimes.” After lunch nothing special happened till the end of classes, when the last bell rang  I was happy to finally go back home, but then I remembered that today is my turn to clean class. “Better finish fast.”  I sighed and started cleaning. At least today my cleaning partner is Kaedehara Kazuha. "At least he won't try to make some small talk". While we were cleaning, it was silent, but suddenly Kazuha said something that I couldn’t hear. -“Sorry, can you repeat? I didn’t hear you.” I ask, thinking he was talking to me. -“ Ah don’t mind me, I was coming up with new haiku.” He smiled and looked at me, Kazuha is another lovely looking person in my class, his red eyes are stunning and warm, his voice is gentle too, I think I wouldn’t mind if he now started to read his haikus or maybe even a whole book. -“I-I see!” I said flustered, realizing that I have been staring at him for too long without response. I turned around and went back to cleaning, not wanting to see his face anymore “He probably thinks that I’m weird…” . I really wished I had more courage to speak with him, I’m not good with poetry but I would like to hear about his haikus. “It’s not big deal! Just ask him about that! Maybe we can even be friends?!” I looked at him, at this moment he was cleaning the board. -“….” I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came of. He had to sense my staring cause suddenly he turned around to look at me. -“Hm? Is something wrong?” he asked, looking at me with cute, confused face. -“I…no…well…” I felt my face being warmer and warmer “…fox….” -“…Pardon?” I felt like running from this class and bury myself in our school garden “Fox?! Why did I say that?! It’s so random! How hard is to ask about silly haiku! Stupid!” -“I think I saw fox outside the class.” I want to go home, I feel so embarrassed that I don’t know anymore what I’m talking about. -“Oh? Really? That’s surprising, the forest is very far away from school…” he said going to the window to look for the fox that doesn’t exist. -“Right? Maybe he got lost, poor thing, I hope it will find way to its home.” I finished cleaning the floor so I went to put broom and dustpan away. I just wanted to get far away from him at this moment. I got so nervous, that my body started to tremble. “I can’t believe myself, this was probably the worst interaction that I had with someone and I still have to come back to the classroom to put tables on their places.” When I calmed down, I came back and with Kazuha's help, we put everything on their right places. Gladly he didn't say anything else, so I could save myself from further embarrassment. After making sure that whole classroom is clean, I said goodbye to Kazuha and went quickly to lockers, to change my shoes and finally left school, to go back home, wanting to forgot about this whole interaction. - “Ugh today is Tuesday I need to study for test that is on Friday, I don’t wanna!” I muttered to myself, not being happy of the thought of studying and doing homework. I took candy from my pocket, to eat it but before I opened the sweet in my hand, I noticed something red passing in front of me. It was little girl with blond pigtails and red cap, she looks to be around age of my little sister, she was going after something round, some kind o ball? Before I knew it, everything went fast. The ball rolled into the street and the girl still followed it, without looking if there were cars. I felt something hitting me and then nothing, I was lying there, the candy from Ruu wasn't in my hand anymore, I think people started to gather around me, everything started to be blurry, I heard child crying, was it that girl? I can't believe it, my body moved on its own to try save this child. "Haha..those that means I'm not such a coward? I can do some things right too?" I think I started to hear someone calling my name but I'm not sure.” Ah… so this is how my life will end?” this was my last thought before everything went black. --- Thank you so much for reading untill end. If everything goes well Chapter 1 will be out tomorrow.

Awaken. | Ending 1
AUTHOR'S NOTE: almost 2 yrs since the first part....... whoops
WARNINGS: MC death, grieving reader, angst
PART 1
Tumblr media
Thoma startles when you come to a halt right in front of him — he thought you’d be asleep by now. And, though the moonlight from behind him is weak and the lantern does little to help him actually see, he manages to make you out: frantic, disheveled, your eyes wild, your chest heaving. You’re barefoot, sweat beading at your hairline. He watches you carefully.
“Are you okay?” he asks softly, afraid he might spook you. You stare at him, breathing hard. You blink once. You blink again. The silence is full of those heavy, heavy breaths. (He waits. You’ve been slow for the past few months. Slow to process, slower to answer. No one berates you for this, though — everyone knew him. Everyone knew you. They understood your grief.
And, well, with the Kamisato clan at your back, who would dare?)
In the end, you do answer, even if your voice is hoarse and your face is flushed.
“Yes—yes. Yes, I’m fine. I’m fine.” Your reply is full of stutters and stumbles, and you sound more like you’re trying to convince yourself rather than reply to Thoma. He smiles anyway.
“That’s good,” Thoma says kindly. After you nod, hands hanging limp by your sides, he raises the basket into the torchlight. “I brought some food over for you. Breakfast and lunch, with a couple skewers of Tricolor Dango. And some blankets. It’s been getting really cold recently, don’t you think?”
You sniff, hand coming up to wipe the sweat at your brow. “Cold?”
He nods. “It’s been unbearable, especially at night. I’m surprised you’re not bundled up. Ayaka’s been sleeping under a mountain of blankets.”
“That seems a little…”
“I know,” he chuckles. “With her vision, it’s the last thing you’d expect. But, well, just like how my Pyro vision doesn’t make me immune to fire, I guess hers doesn’t make her any less susceptible to the cold as the rest of us.”
“Yeah. Funny,” you mutter, quieter now. It’s when you pinch your nose that Thoma gets the feeling something’s wrong: different from grief, different from the deep sorrow you’ve sunken into for the past half year. He stares at you even harder, watching you press the heels of your palms into your eyes. Then it hits him.
You’re sick. Oh, Archons — how hadn’t he noticed it sooner?
Carefully, Thoma asks again, “Are you okay?”
This time, you shake your head at him, running a hand down your face. “Yeah, I’m just — I feel a little dizzy.” When he frowns at you, you add quickly, “But it’s nothing! It’s nothing. I’m fine. Just tired.”
“You’re sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure. You don’t need to worry about me, Thoma. I’m fine, I swear.”
He examines you again, head to toe drenched in sweat, shivering, and backs away. “Okay, I’ll take your word for it.”
“Yes, yes,” you mutter. “Thank you so much, Thoma, for—”
“But is it okay if I come over again tomorrow?”
You blink, in the middle of tugging the basket from him. “Sorry?”
He takes a breath. “I just thought you might need some help. You know, cleaning up and everything.”
“Cleaning up what?”
Thoma glances over your shoulder at the mess he can see poking its head around the corner. “You know, just a general deep clean. All those corners and forgotten spaces, you know? We’ll get it done faster if we work together.”
He sees you follow his gaze and wince at the door you’d left ajar. You shrink a little, shame (and a budding fever) coloring your cheeks. Thoma might hit himself. “It’s okay, Thoma,” you say, quieter now. “I’ll, uh — I’ll deal with it on my own. Thank you.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. Yes, I’m sure.” You give the basket one last, hard tug, and finally it comes out of his hands. “Thank you. For the food and the — and coming to check up on me.” As you tell him all this, you usher him outside. “Have a good night, Thoma.”
“Have a good night—”
The door shuts in his face.

How would they react to getting a call from Death-Cast?
Based on “They Both Die at the End” book cause I’m still not over that ending Characters: Kazuha, Kaveh, Tighnari, & Ayaka More: modern au, Ayato isn't around for SHIT, Tighnari is Tighnari, Kaveh’s a drunkard, Kazuha tries to be nice but dies wow so original, angst, death, mention of how each character dies, not explicit, guess how everyone died and I’ll give you a cookie, I got lazy like halfway through my bad g, Tighnari’s part sucks LMAO, not really proofread, if it's weird blame grammarly Word Count: 680+
whole fic under the cut
Kazuha: I believe it would be like when a bird hits the glass in those cartoons and somewhat childish movies. It would start as a shock, then, as the bird slowly falls down the windows, Kazuha’s wall that holds back his emotions would slowly break. He would most likely ponder on whether to inform Beidou or not. His mind immediately goes to his old friend who had gotten a similar call, and how his world had stopped then just as it does now. Will and can live his last day alive to the fullest. He decides to try new foods, checks a few things off of his bucket list, and leaves a note for Beidou, not building up the courage and having to deal with his guilt to tell her face-to-face. Writes one final poem that summarizes his life before submitting it to be put on his gravestone. Out of the corner of his eye, Kazuha spots a woman in trouble, a man trying to snatch her purse from her. Pushing aside the fact he was going to die today, he set out to help her, unaccounted for the pocketknife the man had on him. He would soon later be seen by Beidou, but the location, however, would be in a morgue.
Kaveh: Shrugs it off as a joke, actually believes Alhaitham hacked or paid the Death-Cast company and directors to freak him out. When he finally stops shouting a string of curses to Alhaitham, he finds himself somewhat believing what Death-Cast said and knows logically Alhaitham wouldn’t stoop this low. So Kaveh does what Kaveh does best when he’s stressed, he drinks. He did so while pondering over how his life would be over today. After all he did to help his mom, after all he did studying to be an architect, after all he did to get where he is now; he was going to die today without any knowledge of how he was going to die. All he could do was sigh as he took another sip of his drink. It’s a shame, though, that one’s liver can only withstand so much alcohol.
Tighnari: Is so close to having a breakdown. What do you mean he’s going to die today? He still had research to do, more things to teach Collei, and even a TCG game scheduled for late afternoon. He does what Tighnari does best, prepares. He makes a list of goodbye cards, makes a short will, seemingly uncaring of who gets what, and reads through a joke book Cyno had the nerve to send him one last time and goes to cancel all of his upcoming assignments. Exhausted after his tasks, Tighnari went to lay his head down on his desk, eyes dropping. Surprisingly, he didn’t catch the bag of toxic mushroomed powder that was directly under the way of his head, though.
Ayaka: Is a mess. Her sobs shook her body after she got the call, and the only person who could get her to calm down enough so she could tell what had happened was Thoma. Ayato was nowhere to be found, most likely in one of his meetings. However, Thoma had sworn that he would get Ayato to come home and see her as soon as possible. Ayaka knew that it was only a matter of time before she would meet with her parents again, yet somehow had hoped she would beat death. She was constricted to her room to protect herself from whatever or whoever was going to end her time alive. She could do nothing but stay locked up in her room, wondering if she was going to get assassinated because of her status, or if she was going to get involved in a freak accident by tripping or something. Ayaka would soon find out when an unfamiliar servant went to serve Ayaka her nightly tea, and the bitter taste would soon feel like it was spreading throughout her entire throat. And of course, when her brother arrived, the only thing he would find would be his dead sister, head face-down on her dresser.

My Review of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You
Tumblr media
Well, I got a couple of open slots for the Fall 2023 anime season. I’ll choose this random series without looking into what it is and why it is. How bad could it possibly be?
#FamousLastWords
Tumblr media
Between the time he was eight months old and the time he graduated from middle school, Rentaro Aijou has been turned down by “girls he likes” a grand total of 100 times. The night following his middle school graduation, Rentaro went to a shrine and prayed that when he enters high school, he will get a girlfriend. That’s when he meets God himself.
Tumblr media
As one does in this occasion.
God tells Rentaro that he will not only get a girlfriend that is destined to be his true soulmate, he will have 100 girlfriends destined to be his true soulmate. Unless you are Genghis Khan or a main character on Tenchi Muyo, I call bullshit. God explains that the day Rentaro was born, he kinda dropped the ball while filling out paperwork. He accidentally wrote 100 soulmates instead of 1. To make things worse, if he turns down any of these soulmates, they’ll die suddenly. So, this is a matter of life and death for 100 girls.
Tumblr media
On the very first day of high school, Rentaro bumps into two of these soulmates, Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda. A pink-haired girl with big tits and a blonde tsundere. Of course, they are! All three are struck by cupid’s drunken, polygamist arrow. Them being a couple is kinda like with Girlfriend Girlfriend with the exception of them all not living together. Heads up, this is under the comedy genre. So, expect a lot of clumsy slapstick here! Well, Rentaro has met 2 of his soulmates. Throughout the series, he meets three other soulmates. A girl named Shizuka who communicates through lines from her favorite novel. Then there’s Kusuri who is a bit of an absent-minded scientist who occasionally transforms from curvy beauty to a Lolita. And then there’s Nano Eiai (pronounced A.I.) who is as monotone as it gets. If you name your kid that, what the hell do you expect?
Before I continue, I’m going to take a couple of shots in the dark here. I’m guessing that this series will only be 11-13 episodes long. Rentaro will only meet 5-13 girls in this span. And the chances of a sequel will be 15% chance.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: No lie, these were the words when it was announced this anime was getting an English dub. “This flaming garbage is getting an English dub?” Hmm, if Brina Palencia is allowed to do Crunchyroll dubs, I say she’s going to play Eiai. Only by the mere fact that she has a reputation for playing monotone girls. But that was something I used to see happen 15 years ago, I doubt it’s still true that Palencia plays nothing but monotone characters anymore. I gotta get with the times as Eiai is played by someone completely different. As for the sub, a mix of newer and well-known seiyuus. This is Wataru Katou’s second main role and seems to be relatively new. I thought he did a really good job as Rentaro. Okay, here’s the cast.
JAPANESE CAST: *Rentaro is played by Wataru Katou
*Hakari is played by Kaede Hondo (known for Iono on Pokemon Horizons, Sakura on Zombieland Saga, and Haruka on Love Live Nijigasaki)
*Karane is played by Miyu Tomita (known for Riko on Made in Abyss, Crim on Interspecies Reviewers, Miko on Kaguya-sama, and Ebisu on Dorohedoro)
*Shizuka is played by Maria Naganawa (known for Kanna on Miss Kobayashi, Plateletts on Cells at Work, and Komekko on Konosuba)
*Eiai is played by Asami Seto (known for Raphtalia on Shield Hero, Mai on Bunny Girl Senpai, CZ on Overlord, Miyoko on Food Wars, and Mado on Tokyo Ghoul)
*Kusuri is played by Ayaka Asai (known for Lisa on Fire Force)
ENGLISH CAST: *Rentaro is played by Travis Mullenix
*Hakari is played by Sarah Wiedenheft (known for Tohru on Miss Kobayashi, Power on Chainsaw Man, Lily on Zombieland Saga, Ruby on Love Live Sunshine, Ariel on Mushoku Tensei II, and Charmy on Black Clover)
*Karane is played by Ariel Graham (known for Tia on Overlord and Leivinia on Index III)
*Shizuka is played by Sara Ragsdale (known for Saikawa on Miss Kobayashi, Young Dabi on My Hero Academia, Saya on Dagashi Kashi)
*Eiai is played by Cassie Ewulu
*Kusuri is played by Lindsay Sheppard (known for Aria on Pokemon XY and Mia on Love Live Nijigasaki)
SHIPPING: After viewing the first episode, I just see Rentaro as one of those harmless anime perverts. He’s like Brock from Pokemon, he’s just going to ask the girl out and anything that happens afterwards, whatever. And for a while throughout the series, I’m inclined to agree with the same sentiment. I don’t recall seeing him get giddy about fondling Hakari’s breasts or anything dirty like that.
Tumblr media
In fact, he tries to be chivalrous to the girls. Rentaro loves someone like Karane despite being the textbook definition of a tsundere. Rentaro helped Shizuka out of her shell and then-some. He showed Eiai that there’s more to life than just numbers. And Kusuri is no longer alone now that Rentaro is in her life. Although, things do get a little raunchy and go beyond holding hands. Rentaro doesn’t play favorites like the other modern harems, he loves all of his girlfriends the same and for some reason, the girlfriends just go along with Rentaro adding more girlfriends.
Tumblr media
In short, every girl is best girl to him. But we have to admit that Hakari’s family has the upper-hand due to a couple of firsts. Hakari is the first girlfriend and the first to be a “bride”. And then Mama Hahari…um…Yeah, it’s best to assume that Hakari and Hahari got the upper-hand here.
WTF MOMENT: French-kissing Vice Principal.
Tumblr media
That’s right. In an anime where Hakari has sick fantasies and we have a girl like Kusuri, who wears diapers and is an 18-year-old in the body of an 8-year-old, the Vice-Principal tainted everything.
That’s it. That’s what made my soul died.
Tumblr media
ENDING: In harem animes, there’s bound to be any number of objections from friends and family members. Mostly family! Would your parents agree to you being in a polygamist relationship? Hakari is told by her mother to end it. Under normal circumstances, yes, that would be the case. But in this anime, Hakari would die. But of course, only Rentaro knows that factoid. If Hakari does die due to break-up, at least she went out in style. She was able to compete in a bouquet toss event that resulted in her and Rentaro dressed in wedding gear and having their pictures taken.
Tumblr media
Hakari’s mother Hahari shuts her daughter up in her room in supreme lockdown. It’s a big house filled with security personnel, a guard dog, trip-laser security, and a cat. The cat’s there doing what cats do. Rentaro and the other girlfriends break in to try and save Hakari. With the help of everyone, Rentaro was able to make it to Hakari’s room. But all in vain as Hakari’s room was also attached to the security system and Rentaro was caught. We then learn about Hahari and why she’s being overprotective of her daughter. Hahari fell in love with a terminally-sick boy at age 13. Hahari decides to have his baby. She gives birth to Hakari and later the boy dies. Hahari later regrets the decision she made and doesn’t want Hakari to make a big mistake with a boy like she did.
Tumblr media
And then Mama Hahari and Rentaro got the spark and AW SHIT, SHE’S ONE OF THE 100 GIRLFRIENDS!
Hahari shook it off and continued to test both Rentaro and Karane on this unordinary relationship with a lie detector. It showed that despite Karane’s severe tsundere attitude, she loves Rentaro. Rentaro is shown to love all of his girlfriends. And that Karane is somewhere in the A-cup range. But the silliness comes to a grinding halt when Hakari is on the ledge of her second-story bedroom window ready to end it all. Rentaro ends up saving her by falling off the ledge with her into the fountain. At least they’re not dead. Hahari gives up her grasp on Hakari and all seems to be forgiven with a hot bath, pajama party, and Rentaro possibly losing his virginity. Oh come on, I doubt that this anime would go so far as to…
Tumblr media
OH, HOLY FUCK! THAT’S WHAT HAPPENED! RENTARO FUCKED HIS FIRST GIRLFRIEND’S MOTHER! HE’S A LITERAL MOTHER FUCKER!
And we go along with the final episode as if we did not see him fucking her brains out. The slumber party went along with usual and unusual moments including: playing cards, spying on Rentaro as he bathes, random acts of lesbianism, a spooky ghost in the window, and other silly shenanigans. We get more serious moments when we’ve got Hahari feel guilty as it feels like she’s betraying her first love (Hakari’s dead father). Rentaro being pure of heart accepts all of her baggage and seals it with a kiss. And then the ghost of Hahari’s first love (Hakari’s dead father) appears before Rentaro.
Tumblr media
As one does! While he was quite defiant about Rentaro dating this guy’s first love and daughter, he sees Rentaro is a pure…wrong words to use about a guy who just lost his virginity to this guy’s baby-mama. Pure enough. Ghost dad approves and passes on. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Rentaro’s first 5 girlfriends are easy to see as they all go to the same school as him. How is Rentaro going to see his sixth, Mama Hahari? Simple. Hahari buys the school. Yeah, the episode ends with her announcing she bought the school. We also see four girls that Rentaro passes by that could possibly be girlfriends #7-11. Pfft. I’ve seen that happen before in season finales. Keijo had an ending like that where we saw all these new characters for one second and then the series never came back.
Okay, let’s see if what I said at the beginning of this review still stands.
*This series was 12 episodes long. I was correct that it was only going to last between 11 and 13. *By series end, Rentaro has officially gotten 6 girlfriends. Even if we add the 5 girls we saw at the end of episode 12, that would equal 11 girls. So, I was right about the number of girlfriends. *My 15% chance of a sequel guess was proven wrong immediately as this got the green light for a second season when the season one finale aired.
Shit, this series was something else. I can honestly say there were a lot of moments in 100 Girlfriends I would have never expected to happen. In a normal harem anime, there’d be a lot of fighting between the girls, the first girl might get a kiss, and the anime would end there so you would have to go to the manga to know what happens next. Or, wait nearly 30 years to see proof of a harem like with Tenchi Muyo. But we all must remember that we are in the 2020’s. If this fucking Goddamn decade has taught me anything, anime has gone above and beyond the norm here. We’re in the decade of Interspecies Reviewers and Redo of Healer!
This anime blew away everything that you’ve seen when it comes to harems. Rentaro has kissed every girl. He is loyal to all of his girlfriends and thensome. And unlike a lot of other harems, he lost his virginity by the season’s end and not to the first girl. I gotta give credit where credit is due in this department. And by the looks of the manga, Rentaro is still loved and quadrupled girl intake. Last I saw, he has over 20 girlfriends. The creator and artists are determined to make the 100 girlfriends thing happen whether the anime continues or not. I gotta respect that kind of tenacity. I am beyond curious to see how Rentaro can possibly handle over 20 girlfriends. So, I am definitely looking forward to a second season for this anime.
And if you want to see a harem done right for the 2020’s, get your ass to Crunchyroll and watch this series.
Tumblr media
FINAL THOUGHT: If Rentaro never existed, this anime would be a Yuri anime starring these two. Prove me wrong.

Watchful Eye
[Kamisato Estate]
Aether:*slides door* Hello-
Ayaka sits politely and stiff as a board. Across from her is a tea set and her brother Ayato drinking a cup. He showed a simple smile that terrified Aether. One gesture towards the empty pillow next to Ayaka was enough to get Aether to sit.
Ayato:Good evening Aether.
Aether:Hello Ayato. Did I…break a rule or something?
Ayato:Hehe, you wouldn’t be you if you weren’t breaking rules Aether; both you and Ayaka are pretty good at that in fact. It’s why I wanted to see both of you. Breaking rules is sometimes important or necessary, but only if you’re…sneaky.
He pulls a picture out from his sleeve and slides it over to them. Ayaka’s face goes dark red from the picture of her and Aether kissing on the back porch one night. From the looks at it, the photo had to be taken from on top one of the estate walls.
Aether:How did we not notice the flash!?
Ayato:You looked really preoccupied.
Aether:Hehe, better than uninterested?
Ayato:….
Aether:I’m sorry.
Ayaka:We we’re careless. How…many know about us now?
Ayato:None. My people secured the photo and spy before they made the rounds.
Ayaka:Who was it?
Ayato:No one significant. They won’t be a problem anymore.
Ayaka:*squints*
Ayato:They’re alive. Calm down. Anyways, you must be more careful. Plenty of people, both happy and upset, will cause an uproar. I suggest if you’re going to sneak over here then try avoiding open areas and keeping a keener eye.
Aether:Well you’d kill me if one of your ninjas reported that I was spending time with Ayaka behind close doors at night.
Ayaka:No he wouldn’t. Not when Thoma seems to change is cleaning routine to one that has him frequently across the estate multiple times; despite how inefficient it is. I wonder what would cause him to change it?
Ayato:Ah, so your eyes are keener than I thought. Guess we chalk this instance as a lapse in judgment. Even so-
Ayaka:Do you believe in me?
Ayato:What?
Ayaka:….
Ayato:…I do.
Ayaka:Do you have faith in my choices, and trust Aether?
Ayato:You know I do, Ayaka.
Ayaka:*red* Then…can we say goodbye to one more rule, and let Aether and my relationship grow into whatever it becomes?
Aether:!? *whispers* Should I give you two a moment?
Ayato:No, please stay where you are. Ayaka, you know that makes your life more difficult.
Ayaka:Our lives have been difficult and compromised time and again since our parents passed away. This won’t be different. I’m aware Aether and I aren’t married. Also, I could never ask or expect a big commitment like that when he’s been diligently on his own journey. One that may end with him leaving for good when the time arrives. Even so, I don’t want to live with regrets or withholding my genuine feelings.
Ayato:If-
Ayaka:If my future spouse and those look at me with aspiration would truly shun all my other qualities and dedication to this land for the mere fact I gave myself to someone I love before marriage, then I never wanted those people by my side. I wouldn’t want to get engaged to a person who’d see me as lesser for it! As long as you don’t think less of me, then I’ll be okay.
Ayato:*sighs* Aether, what exactly do you have to say about all of this?
Aether:As a brother, I always spared no expense making sure Lumine had the best life she could. Haven’t been doing my best job recently…but regardless of that, I never wanted to be in the way of her happiness. Though I don’t want to make either of your lives difficult-
Ayato:You love my sister?
Aether:I fought you in duel so yes. Very much so.
Ayato:…I should really thank you, respecting my sister and…most of rules. Hopefully the rest of Inazuma can learn to overlook one or two by the time they discover this one.
Ayaka:!? We have your blessing?
Ayato:Aether would you kindly…?
Aether:He’s your brother. He’ll never actually say it, will not want details, and I promise on my life you’ll never know.
Ayato:Yes, yes, and I doubt it so don’t slack off in your fighting because I will not hold back. *stands up* Now if you excuse me, I have business to attend to. *walks off*
Aether:Never a dull moment in this house.
Ayaka:You liven it up. *leans on him* that was mentally exhausting. I’m shocked he didn’t make me duel him. I prepared myself for nothing.
Aether:Yeah this home is definitely lively without me. Soooo guess I’m staying in Inazuma until tomorrow now?
Ayaka:…..*crimson* I need a few days time.
Aether:Oh sure. If you need to mentally prepare and want time to-
Ayaka:I meant I want a few…days..with…you.
Aether:Oh. *red* That’s fine, hehe (Guess I’m dying by Kamisato anyways.)

falling stars | dainsleif
❥ — PAIRING dainsleif x gn! reader
❥ — SUMMARY modern AU! you meet Dainsleif at a convenience store and you just zing (hotel transylvania, anyone?)
❥ — part two
Tumblr media
You get home at 10:57pm.
Your day was long and tiring and long. It seemed as though every person you came across had a vendetta against you and chose today to make your life as inconvenient as possible. It sucked, to say the least.
You don’t bother turning any of the lights on as you kick your shoes off, leave them in the middle of the entryway and pile your winter coat on top of them. You’d move them in the morning, sleep was your number one priority.
That is until you chuck yourself onto your bed and then your stomach chooses now to rattle the entire apartment with it’s grumbling.
Your fridge is empty.
The clinical white light of the convenience store make your squint as you shuffle inside, hand gripped around your phone as you glare at the list you’d created on the walk over.
- Cereal - Hot chocolate powder - Milk - Food
You know the store layout like the back of your hand, not lifting your eyes as you move yourself into the cold aisle for milk. You crouch down to inspect the sell-by dates and pluck the one with the latest date before rising back to stand. As you do this you come crashing into a stranger who had been paying as little attention as you, a string of apologies falling from your lips out of reflex.
“I’m really sorry I wasn’t looking where I was going-”
“It’s fine,” the stranger tries to reassure, running a hand through his choppy blond hair, “did you drop anything?”
You take a moment to process the question, unsure whether it’s because you’re tired or just slow. You notice the man is wearing a winter jumper. An ugly winter jumper, at that.
“I don’t think so,” you twist around to check nothing had taken a tumble out of your shopping basket and fallen onto the floor, “sorry again.”
You leave the stranger in the cold aisle with an awkward smile and scuttling steps.
Tumblr media
“Why are you telling me this if you didn’t get his number?” you can hear Lumine’s exasperation through the phone, easily able to picture her unimpressed expression.
“I just thought it was sweet, I don’t know,” you shrug, shifting your phone onto your bedside table and putting it on speaker.
Lumine sighs (and probably rolls her eyes), “you need to go out more, meet some new people!”
“That’s easy for you to say,” your words come out muffled as you put your head through a thick woollen jumper, the type your grandad would wear, “you know just about everyone in Teyvat.”
She hums in agreement, matter-of-factly stating that “I guess I’m just sociable and you’re not.”
You couldn’t disagree.
“Come out with me - to a party, I mean,” she suggests and you can imagine her twirling a strand of hair around her index finger, “if you don’t enjoy it then we can ditch and binge some movies?”
It was hard to deny spending time with your best friend, and you knew she was aware of your struggle to say no. You wrestle with your mind for a moment, trying to find a reasonable excuse not to go out and socialise before finally mumbling out a “fine.”
The blonde can’t stop herself from squealing with excitement, “I promise I’ll make sure you enjoy yourself! I’ll come round to yours and we can pick out a cute outfit!”
You hear a soft voice in the background before the call gets muted. You move over to your phone mute yourself as well before falling back onto your bed, beginning to count the bumps of stucco on the ceiling.
“Sorry, Ayaka just came round, I’ll see you later tonight though?”
You drag yourself back over to your phone and press unmute.
“Yeah of course, go spend time with your girlfriend,” the words barely leave your lips before a quick ‘bye!’ is returned, followed by the call ending.
You return to counting the stucco on the ceiling, not having anything to do until Lumine decides to turn up on your doorstep and drag you out to socialise. 44... 45... 46... Your phone dings with a notification, you try to ignore it.  47... did you already count that one? 1... 2... 3...
Your phone chimes again and you lose count, sighing before pulling your body up into a sitting position and grabbing the mobile. The screen’s lit up with an instagram notification.
dains_leif followed you
dains_leif liked your post
Unlocking your phone and navigating to instagram reveals that the account has a black cat as the profile photo and they are followed by both Lumine and her brother, Aether. You assume there’s no harm in following them back, so you send a request.
It’s accepted almost immediately and... they have no posts. You click through a highlight reel titled with a star emoji and, unsurprisingly, it’s some astronomy photos.
You chuck your phone behind you and get off of your bed, shuffling into the kitchen so you could make some lunch. Pasta sounds good.
Tumblr media
The rest of your day is spent doing menial chores while blasting a Christmas CD because you couldn’t be bothered to stifle through your box of various mixtapes. It was November, that’s close enough for Christmas songs.
By the time 04:00pm rolls around, your apartment is spotless and Lumine is banging at the door. As she enters, she’s followed by Ayaka, who has a duffle bag and a smile that, if you weren’t already friends, would send a chill through you.
You wonder if you look quite as scary when you try to mimic Lumine’s friendliness.
“We brought clothes and makeup!” Lumine interrupts your train of thought, grabbing the duffle bag from Ayaka and pulling out a string of clothes much like a magician would with brightly coloured bunting.
“Whose party are we going to, by the way?” you lead the pair of girls into your bedroom, pointing out your wardrobe so they could meticulously choose an outfit for you.
“Girl called Xinyan recently got asked to support a band she likes on their tour, her band is throwing a party to celebrate.”
Tumblr media
You stand outside the house as a trio, able to hear the thumping of the music and a distinct bassline. You’re wearing a ribbed top that hugs your sides uncomfortably and a pair of your own baggy trousers that sit slightly below your waist. You remember why you stopped wearing them.
“Ready?”
The girls don’t give you time to answer before they’re rushing inside, weaving in between the waves of bodies until they’re totally lost to your eyes.
You feel out of place.
Not wanting to clog up the doorway, you shuffle through the gaps left between people, letting the empty spaces navigate you to the kitchen. There’s noticeably fewer people, most of them huddled around the island counter-top and playing a card game.
The back door is open and leads to an empty garden.
Stepping outside, the wind rushes to your face and the grass glistens with rain. The moon hands full in the sky, surrounded by stars and grey clouds.
At the bottom of the garden is a figure crouched in the grass with their phone poised at the sky above.
You don’t intend to disturb them but you step closer, watching them photograph the moon with settings you didn’t even know existed on your mobile.
“When I take photos of the moon they come out ugly,” you mumble, causing the stranger to turn around with a chuckle.
“I know what you mean-” when you get the chance to see their face you recognise the stranger as the man you ran into at the convenience store.
By the way his eyes widened you’d say he recognised you too.
“It’s you.”

Wake Up {Thoma and Ayato}
Tumblr media
“Uhm… My lord?” Thoma opened the door to Ayato’s bedroom, peeking his head in. He glanced over to the bed, where Ayato was laying down. He had a pillow over his head, snoring softly. Thoma sighed.
Ayato had been up late the night before working on some paperwork for the Yashiro Commission. It had piled up even though Ayato had been working tirelessly to get it done, and he nearly pulled an all-nighter finishing it.
“I’m coming in,” Thoma said quietly, walking into the bedroom.
Ayaka had sent him in to get Ayato awake, saying that he had a meeting with the other Commissioners soon. Thoma knew that Ayaka had sent Thoma in to save herself from the wrath of a tired Ayato, but Thoma was more worried for Ayato’s wellbeing than his wrath.
He walked over to where Ayato was resting, hearing a groan as he rolled over. Thoma frowned as he realized just how exhausted Ayato was.
He pulled the pillow away in hopes that Ayato would wake up from the light coming in from the window. He only mumbled in annoyance and turned over to have his face buried in the pillow his head was resting on. Thoma huffed.
Ayaka had said he was hard to wake up, and Thoma knew that from experience. He had woken him up a few times before, but the last thing he wanted to do was nudge Ayato awake and make him grouchy for the rest of the day.
Thoma finally settled on his Foolproof-Housekeeper-Wake-Up-Method that he had come up with for the Kamisato siblings. It had worked on Ayaka several times, so surely it would work on Ayato.
Thoma pulled the blanket down just a bit and slowly began to poke Ayato, just to test how awake he was. There was little to no response, so Thoma knew he would have to work harder to wake him up.
He lightly began to scribble up his sides, pinching occasionally as Ayato slowly began to move. He twitched a few times at first, then began to squirm. He moved from side to side as Thoma urged him to wake up.
“Come on, my lord. It’s almost noon. Time to wake-up,” He said in a gentle tone. He couldn’t help but grin when he heard a giggly whine from Ayato.
“Fihihive more minuhutes,” He pleaded, but Thoma shook his head.
“We’ll get you to bed early tonight, but you have a bit of work to do. I’ll make you tea,” Thoma said, chuckling when Ayato squealed softly as Thoma snuck his hands under his arms.
Ayato clamped his arms down lazily and his muffled giggles soon became clear as he turned onto his side, allowing himself to breathe better as he pulled his face out of the pillow.
“Thohoma! Plehease, just a bit mohohore rest!”
Thoma’s heart tightened at Ayato’s request, but he knew he would get in trouble if he was late. “Ayaka said you have a meeting soon. You can rest as soon as it’s over.”
“Nohohoho!”
“Thoma?” Ayaka peeked her head in, eyes widening as she witnessed how Thoma had decided to wake her brother. She chuckled. “I guess that works on him too, huh? The Commissioners sent a message. They decided to move the meeting to tomorrow.”
Thoma quickly retracted his hands. “They did?? Oh goodness…”
He looked down at Ayato, who was now fully awake and glaring softly at Thoma. Ayaka giggled. “You’re the one who woke him up! Bye!”
She quickly shut the door, giggling outside as Thoma’s heart sank. He went to leave, but Ayato grabbed him around the waist and pulled him onto the bed, making Thoma shriek. He quickly began to squirm and laugh as Ayato squeezed his hips, grumbling.
“You woke me up for nothing, Thoma.”
“I’m sohohohorry! I thohohought–”
“You’re sorry? You’ll be sorry once I’m through with you,” Ayato said menacingly, making Thoma squeak in nervousness.
“My lohohord! Wahahait!” Thoma wailed as Ayato clawed at his stomach, making the poor housekeeper squeal and shriek. Thoma made a quick mental note to let Ayaka wake Ayato up tomorrow.

Kamisato Ayato x Reader
Tumblr media
Fluff to Angst (?)
Synopsis: Meeting Kamisato Ayato was both a dream and a nightmare
Warnings: Minor swearing, ooc, cringe, bad grammar, not proofread
Tumblr media
Meeting Ayato completely changed your life
Before meeting him, everything was the same
Wake up, eat breakfast, get ready, work, eat lunch, work some more, go home, eat dinner, and sleep
The cycle just repeats itself over and over again like you’re stuck in an endless loop
But everything changed when he came to your humble shop and bought almost everything might I add
Tumblr media
“These..Items..Are unexpectedly high quality but yet you sell them for cheap, why is that?”
‘Huh? What do you mean ‘unexpectedly'?!? Who does this man think he is to just assume my things aren’t high quality'
“Oh, I just happen to have a great luck at picking out items, I guess..?”
“So, you just happen to always get high quality items when shopping? I find that quite hard to believe”
“Look here mister! I don’t know who you think you are but if you aren’t here to buy then please kindly get out.”
“I’m just a simple average human doing my best to survive in this world”
“And to answer your question on why I sell them 'cheap' it’s because that’s simply the price I paid to buy them”
“I’d be a horrible person to inflate the price a whole lot y’know?”
“Pfft..”
‘This guy..Is he seriously holding back his laugh?!’ (๑•ૅㅁ•๑)
“Alright alright, I’m not here to fight”
“I’ll buy everything from here to there”
‘What—’
“Thoma, make sure everything is safely delivered to the estate”
“Yes, my lord”
'LORD??? JUST WHO IS THIS MAN?!??!’
Tumblr media
After that horrible first meeting with Ayato
He came back a few times to buy some things he needed. What did he do with them? You don’t know, and honestly? You didn’t care. Business is business
Due to his constant visits you soon found out his name was 'Ayato'
Tumblr media
With time you and Ayato grew closer with each other
You honestly didn’t get why he decided to come to your shop in person when he could’ve just ordered his people to buy the things he needed for him but hey, you can’t say you dislike his presence, in fact, you like it
He came almost every single day that he just became a constant in your life
Oh how you wished he just hadn’t come to your shop that day
Tumblr media
Fast forward to when you and Ayato started dating
You noticed a lot of people started to stare at you. And no, it wasn’t just a glance or something. It was full on staring
They always gave you judgmental looks
You always heard them criticizing your looks, voice, posture, the way you talk and walk
You didn’t know why, until Ayato decided to tell you why, that is
And so, you found out that the man you’ve been dating was none other than Kamisato Ayato
Truth be told, even after he told you his full name you still didn’t know who he was. He had to explain to you about his family and etc.
He found it amusing how you had a lot of knowledge when it comes to material things but know almost nothing when it comes to socializing, politics, and all that business stuff. He almost believes that you really are just lucky to have survived this long all by yourself
Tumblr media
Ayaka having heard of the news of you dating her brother decided to officially meet you
Ayaka has known about your existence due to her brother always telling her about you and because Ayato always comes to her to ask her opinions on what to get you as a gift
She was a bit cautious at first, making sure you weren’t just using her brother, but it didn’t take long for her to trust you
And it also didn’t take long for both of you to become best friends
Since it was basically public knowledge that you and Ayato were dating, you had to move in, in the Kamisato estate to protect you from possible assassins that may take your life
It took a lot of time for the people working there to get used to you. They were also of course a bit cautious of you since they’ve seen many people try to seduce their lord
In the end, everyone was divided in two sections.
One side trusts you and are willing to serve you like you’re also their lord and the other side doesn’t trust you as much and still remain a good distance away from you
But it was alright, you told yourself that as long as you have Ayato you can make it through their judgmental stares and comments
Love really does make a person a blind..
The dating stage was..Like a dream, you couldn’t believe you managed to snatch yourself a lovely caring man like Ayato
The newly wed stage was like heaven on Teyvat
The married stage was a nightmare alright
Tumblr media
Everywhere you went you felt stares
Their stares
Always judging and criticizing
It was never ending
You thought it might die down after a bit
You told yourself that they’ll stop after a few more months
The people just aren’t used to it yet
You get it, you really do, Ayato is a person of high status so you understand their criticisms
After all, you were just an average person living their regular life then suddenly you were dating one of the most famous people in the land
This particular day was worse than other days
Everyone was much more unbearable it didn’t help that your husband was busy for the rest of the day, again
For the past 5 years that you’ve been married to Ayato you can’t remember a single day where you had spent one day together with him. Just him, no work, no nothing
Hell, you haven’t even been able to sit and eat at the same table during these years you’ve been married
Sometimes you wish you just hadn’t gotten married at all
At least back then you were actually able to see Ayato and eat at the same table as him
Now that you’re married to him you can’t even see him due to work
And when you do see him it’ll either be because you got a glimpse of him through the door before it shuts or if there’s a social party that you need to attend in
Every single promise was broken
“I’m sorry dear, I’ll make sure to eat with you today”
“I can’t just 'relax'! Sigh Please get out I have work to do”
“Next time, I promise”
“Ah yes, about our date today..I’m afraid I’ll have to cancel it. I have a business meeting today”
“Day off? I don’t have time for that”
Your once happy dream life turned dull and unhappy
You kept telling yourself that it was alright, he was just busy with work and will make time for you when needed. Being the Yashiro Commissioner is a stressful job so it was understandable
But..With every single passing day it was hard..It kept getting harder and harder to stay upbeat and think positively
Again, it didn’t help that others was still judging and criticizing you. You honestly thought it’ll only last for 1-2 years at most but no, they’re still nitpicking at every single thing you did
Calling you a commoner, gold digger, snake, slut, manipulator, and a whole lot of other things
Tumblr media
Things got worse when the vision hunt decree came
He got more busier and busier and even had to leave on some sort of “trip” without telling you
You didn’t know where he was, what he was doing, is he doing alright? Is he still alive? Surely he didn’t get assassinated right?
It was all just so..Unbearable
You wanted to leave
You needed to leave
Staying in that estate was taking a big hit on your mental health
It’s always been taking a hit. You just hadn’t noticed and continued to look through rose tinted glasses
Your thoughts were spiraling down into the deep depths
You knew you needed to get your shit together
And so, you tried your best to reach out to Ayato
But of course, you couldn’t get a hold of him at all
So you decided to just leave for the meantime
You’ll deal with the paperwork and everything else once he comes back
For now though, you just decided to reopen your shop, get business running, and try to live your best life without him
Maybe once Ayato comes back and you get divorced you’ll try traveling? It’ll be hard to do so with the Vision hunt decree but you were sure you’ll be able to make it work somehow
Maybe an old friend will be willing to help
Hihiii I’m sorry if this is just absolute trash
This is definitely not the best of my works so far but idk (◞‸◟)
I’m not sure if this even is considered angst or not tbh
I have more ideas for this butttt I just can’t fit it so I apologize
The end..Definitely wasn’t what I had in mind though
Who do you think the old friend is? (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

Tickletober Day 18 - Chase
A/N: this was a request by the wonderful artist @vqler 💜 thank you so much!!
Summary: gorou catches up with thoma after not seeing him for a while
Characters: lee!gorou, ler!thoma
Knock knock knock.
“Can you get the door please, Thoma?”
“Sure thing, my Lord.”
Knock knock knock. Creeeak.
“Gorou!!”
“Thoma!!”
“Roof roof!”
“Taroumaru!”
“Haha, excited to see Gorou too, Taroumaru? Please, come in.”
Gorou stepped inside the Komore Teahouse and practically lept into Thoma’s open arms.
“I haven’t seen you in so long! How have you been? How are Ayato and Ayaka??”
“Ayaka and I have been quite well, thank you.”
“Oh! Hello, sir! Er…” Gorou now realized he was clinging to Thoma like a koala, suspended off the ground. He let go and dropped to the floor, stumbling a bit. He promptly bowed towards Ayato.
“How have you and Miss Kokomi been? Faring well, I hope?”
“Yes! The Resistance has been putting up a real fight out there. I’m very proud of my troops.”
“Good to hear. I’m sure you’ve been working hard to train them all.”
“I have! So hard, in fact, that Her Excellency insisted I take a break for once.” Gorou shyly scratched the back of his head.
“You certainly deserve one. Speaking of hard workers… Thoma, why don’t you take a break, too? I know you two haven’t seen each other in quite awhile, so why not take this opportunity to catch up?”
“A-are you sure, my Lord?”
“Of course.”
“Thank you!” Thoma and Gorou exchanged excited looks.
“Judging by your tail, I can see you’re quite happy too, Gorou. I’ll leave you to it.” Ayato winked. He waved farewell for now as he walked into another room. Taroumaru followed suit.
“Ugh, how embarrassing…” Gorou whined, covering his blushing face in his hands.
“Don’t be embarrassed, Gorou. I think it’s cute.”
“Not helping!!”
Thoma laughed. “May I offer you some tea? I believe it’s just finished brewing.”
Gorou nodded and sat down at the bar. Thoma poured two cups and sat down next to him.
“Just the other day I witnessed the craziest thing,” Thoma said, “I saw the Kamisatos having a tickle fight. A tickle fight! Can you believe it?”
“No way! I can’t imagine them doing something like that.”
“I couldn’t, either. Then I thought, everyone’s gotta have some fun every once in a while. Even the most dignified folk.”
“I guess that’s true.”
“Even a war general like yourself,” Thoma grinned, raising his hands and wiggling his fingers menacingly at Gorou.
“Oh no you don’t!”
Gorou spun around and sprang up off the stool, making a run for the door. Thoma got up and ran after him, closing the door behind him, giving Gorou a head start. The two ran out into the fields.
“I’m gonna getchu!”
“NOohoho!!” Gorou was grinning from ear to ear.
Gorou whipped around sakura trees, leapt over rocks and hedges, and continued running as fast as he could, enjoying the thrill of the chase. Thoma caught up quickly, as the two of them were fairly evenly matched in speed.
Gorou suddenly turned on his heel and sprinted back towards the Teahouse, catching Thoma off guard. Gorou skidded and turned effortlessly, while Thoma…
“Whoa! Ack!”
Crashed and burned, so to speak.
Gorou heard Thoma’s cry and looked back to see Thoma sprawled out in a pile of sakura petals. Gorou stopped in his tracks.
“Thoma!” He ran back to his friend. Now leaning over him, he asked, “Are you okay!?”
“Haha, yeah, the petals cushioned my fall! I must’ve tripped on that dirt mound.”
“Oh, thank goodness. I was worried you were hu—waAHH!”
Thoma swiftly sat up, grabbing Gorou’s waist and pulling him down on top of him.
“Gotcha!”
“Hey! Noho fair!!”
“All’s fair in love and war~ kooocho kocho kocho kocho kochoo!”
“AAAIIIIEE NAHAHA! NOHOHOT MY TUHUHUMMYY!!”
“Why would you wear such revealing clothing if you didn’t want any belly rubs? Huh?”
“Sh-shut uhuhuhup!” Gorou blushed.
Gorou was face up in Thoma’s lap, wiggling around as much as Thoma would leg him. Thoma was skittering his fingertips all around Gorou’s exposed midriff. His tail was thwapping against the ground, sending sakura petals flying into the air around them.
Thoma switched to gently squeezing Gorou’s thighs, and Gorou lost it.
“AAAAHAHAH NONONOHOHO I TAKE IT BACK I TAKE IT BAAHAHAHAHACK!!”
“Take what back?”
“N-NOHOHOT WANTING T-T-TUHUHMMY RUHUHUBS! P-PLEHEHEASE THOMA!!”
“If you say so.”
Thoma momentarily ceased his attack and gave Gorou some soothing tummy rubs. Gorou practically melted into him, still smiling brightly. His tail settled as well.
“You’re so cute,” Thoma said under his breath.
“Huh?” Gorou looked up at him, blushing a warmer shade.
“Oh! Nothing! It was nothing,” Thoma hurriedly tickled the sides of Gorou’s ears to distract him.
“eeEEEHEHE WAHAHAIT! HeheheheeEEhE *snort* stahaha—nohohoho!” Gorou was wagging again, pawing at Thoma’s hands. His ears twitched when Thoma touched a particularly sensitive spot.
“Ihihit tickles soho bahahahahad! EEP NOHOT THEHERE!”
Thoma savored Gorou’s cute giggles for a little while longer, wiggling a couple fingers right on those sensitive little spots.
“Y-you’re driving me crahahazy! S-somewhere ehehehelse!!”
“So, you don’t want me to stop yet?”
Gorou froze. “Uhm, I uh, well I—AAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!”
Thoma suddenly dug his thumbs into Gorou’s hip bones. Since when was he so good at this?? Gorou thrashed around, tail kicking up sakura petals again, arms flailing at Thoma’s hands. Thoma continued the torment for just a little while longer, until Gorou’s laughter went silent. That’s when he finally let up.
Thoma pat Gorou’s head. “You okay there, buddy?”
Gorou nodded, wiping a tear from his eye.
“You’re ruthless.”
“I stopped, didn’t I?”
“Yeah, whatever…” Gorou leaned into Thoma’s middle, hiding his smile.
“Let’s head back, alright? Don’t want your tea to get too cold.”
“Okay! Oh and, th-thanks, by the way.”
“Anytime.”

Genshin Characters as a Librarian
Imagine:
What would they recommend/read  & how/what would they read to kids during story time? Zhongli, Ayato, Scaramouche, Itto, Al Haithem
Tumblr media
Zhongli as a Librarian
He would look good in reading glasses and I think might need them
Probably know where any book you want and would know obscure and antique novels
He would probably take care of delicate antique books like a curator or book binder
Cpudl see him working in one of the big national libraries
Recommends: The Sound & The Fury
Recommends history books or historical fiction probably very difficult or long books
-He’s probably be good at serious book readings such great exceptions history reading its his deep serious voice.
However, I find it funny to imagine him being in the kiddie corner reading to kids with his deep voice kind of like a kinda like dad or grandpa that is not sure whether to be serious or funny with it.
Probably more serious or classic kids books like Peter Pan
Scaramouche as a Librarian
Recommends: Tokyo Ghoul
As a librarian is rude but when pressed about books to recommend  jerks a thumb at the manga section where he had written scathing descriptions about manga series.
Such as for Tokyo Ghoul: “Dumb guy asks red flag girl on dinner date that clearly goes wrong when he is the dinner”
In a modern AU the type to work at at a local bookstore or barnes & nobles for part time work cuz he has too for an allowance or soothing
Reading to Kid’s :
If he was forced to read to kids he would be annoyed at first but get really into it
He definitely be the type to enunciate “BAM” & “POW” sound effects to startle the kids to his amusement.
Also would kill it on creepy Halloween stories.
Ayato as a Librarian
Would recommend:  Great expectations
Fine literature like great exceptions as he is cultured like that but also thrillers due to the surprise aspect and twists
Reading To kids:
Reading to Kid’s: I think he’d add in his own surprise lines to make the stories fun and see if any kids would catch him in his lie.  Or reading he more fantastical whimsical unexpected children books like Roald Dahl Matilda or James & the giant peach,
He would also be good at is as he had Ayaka as a sister and could see him getting her into books and vice versa.
“And then the very hungry caterpillar ate a Moose “
Umm mrs kamisato that’s not possible
Itto
Books to Recommend: One Piece
Definitely also a manga reader and might get excited recommending should mana but maybe just the fight scenes
He’d recommend One piece like “ Then this green hair dude goes SLASH with his sword and stretchy boy that STREECH his body to shoot a cannonball back at a rival ship”
Volunteers for fun at local library
Itto reading to Kids during Storytime.
Would be so into reading to kids & has big kid energy himself and will get excited while reading and find himself commenting on the story
Also voices out eh sound effect or act them out like the cannon went “BAM” and slamming his fist on bookcase causing the books to topple out of the bookcase “oops, I’ll clean that u hehe”
Be reading simple kids books maybe Clifford the big red Dog
Al Haitham
Recommends: Sherlock Holme Book’s
He would recommend and  read academic papers philosophy, Plato or Socrates for fun I feel like.
Or mystery’s where you have to guess the killer using logic like Sherlock Holmes
Also be the type to know the dewey decimal system and know where everything is and be annoyed when people cannot find books.
the type of librarian who’d work best in a college library not a public one
Reading to Kids for Storytime:
I get the feeling he would rather not read to kids as he is not a kid person but if he is doing it he will do it right and so that they learn something
He would maybe correct the kid’s pronunciations of words if they get it wrong
He would choose an educational book that has a logic puzzle or to learn a new language like Spanish lol since he came from haravatat the school about languages
Inspired by:
I had random nostalgia for the library and how we would do story time as kids when I heard they still do it at some libraries had to write this plus love books
I really like the voice acting of Genshin characters and have err simped more below
Sometimes after writing yandere stuff I just need some fluff about sweet soft bois.
Side Note on Voice Actors:
I bet as voice actors any of these characters can probably pull off story time with a variety of voices.
I find it funny I can recognize certain voice actors such as Zhongli or Aether as their voices are so iconic and pervasive in other works.
I think Voice actors are either really good for their unique voice or the variety in how they can change their voice.
Honestly, the voice actors in Genshin are so talented and really put work into their characters.
I find it great that we are developing a community of good English voice actors

Colors
Encountered chance of colors
Kamisato Ayato X reader | y/n | I
Short story
Listen to - [ Pretty stranger - Prismo ]
a monochromatic vision
A snippet:
"Here you go" He returns the paper but for a moment I hesitated to take hold of it.
Was it the paper? Or did I just guess for a bizarre reason all along... It couldn't be possible that...
I held my breath and slowly reached the paper with my fingers. I couldn't care if the Commissioner sees my weird act by now but I need to see it again.
"Huh?! Colors!" I couldn't help but exclaim out loud when once again I could see the colors reach my hands.
"Oh... Please excuse me" I instantly added with a quick bow. I hold the paper with two hands to finally take it from him but surprisingly he hasn't let go of it.
I quickly stood up straight if perhaps he had something else to say... And that's when our eyes met.
"You... can see the colors, do you not?" He softly spoke as if intentionally wanting only me to hear him. His eyes filled with curiosity, eagerly waiting for my reply.
------------------------------
I used to admire a person. He's one of the Tri- Commission representatives. That person, he just doesn't make much of an appearance in the public. Unlike his younger sister, she's pretty much the face that people find most familiar with. But sometimes if you do get lucky, you could catch a glimpse of him from the side of the stage. I've seen him a couple of times, him standing there, proudly smiling at his sister's admirable speech. There's nothing better than seeing a person with vibrant colors.
Perhaps that day, I have been staring far too long or perhaps coincidentally a firework was being set up just in the area far behind me that it caught his attention... but nonetheless I couldn't be mistaken that his eyes were directly meeting my gaze. It was surreal. I wanted to make sure if I didn't imagine it at that time and hold the gaze but suddenly he pulled up a decent smile. It caught me off guard that I instantly looked away.
That was a year ago... I haven't been able to see him since as I was struggling with work myself that requires a lot of writing documents. I work during the day and only have a minimal personal time during the night before finally getting a peaceful sleep.
Another month has passed by and it's the same routine. How I missed seeing colors again... All these people are colorless to me, even myself. My eyes see the world similarly to the drawings that have been drawn only by using a black ink. I used to think that it was normal, at least perhaps when I grow older, I'll get to see the colors... But that wasn't my case.
"The Commissioner requested these arrangements. Is it possible to acquire it next week?"
I nodded and wrote down the requirements before sending it to my superior. Recently, the town has been busy preparing for the upcoming festival. It's the once a year festival, so everything needs to be carefully addressed and that includes the department I'm working with.
"Are you the person in charge of this area?" A worker points out a map to me.
"No, is there any problem?" I wasn't specifically on duty for that area but it was held by a colleague of mine.
"The Commissioner requests someone to immediately discuss the matter that needs to be changed"
It seems to be urgent, but my colleague was out to get the new materials from the port. Eventually after a quick discussion, I was instructed to assist with the matter.
I've worked for different Commissioners before but I never actually meet them in person. Usually the Yashiro commission is responsible for the festivals, could it be... perhaps it's Lady Ayaka.
When I arrived there, I wasn't expecting to see those familiar vibrant colors... It was so beautiful.
"Sir, we've got a representative from the department"
He turned around and I could only calmly ask what needed to be changed while my heart excitedly jumped in joy. Seeing him up front was different. The colors I see shine brightly... Sometimes I wonder if he's even real.
The colors of his eyes, his hair, his outfit... Is truly astonishing. Sigh... I wonder what my own eye color is... Is it blue, green, purple? I couldn't possibly know that, I never will. Not that I know to differentiate colors anyway.
While thinking all of that, I obviously did manage to professionally jot down his instructions and suggestions.
"I'll make sure to inform the person in charge."
He only nods.
"Right, please sign here, Sir-" I hand him the papers. All changes that should be made need a signature just to prove that it was directly instructed by the Commissioner himself. It was just the normal procedure.
He held the paper while I was still holding the other end. For a brief moment, my hand gave out a glow of color. Was that the color of my skin? How did that happen? Did I imagine it...
Surely I was surprised but what was that?
I have dreamed about a lot of things in life but the thought of someone knowing about what I experience without even telling them has never once crossed my mind. Perhaps he only tried to guess based on what I've accidentally said before... But who would've even been curious about that unless they know a thing or two?
"Sir, team A needs your approvement for the equipments needed"
He smiled and handed me the paper but could it be that he was disappointed? Those eyes have always been bright or did I imagine it changing?
I sighed in relief. Only fate allowed me to escape from answering that question of his... I wouldn't know if I want to honestly answer that to a person I didn't personally know...
The sun was almost set when I finally get off from work. With the final energy I have, I directly walked to that one stall that wasn't quite popular. I'm glad that I didn't need to queue because their dango milk drink tasted superb.
"What a coincidence..."
That voice... I turned only to be greeted by the person with vibrant colors. Surprised by the sudden encounter, I could only turn back towards the stall vendor as I paid for the drink I ordered.
If only this person was someone common... I would've rushed to become a friend. Seeing these colors bought by this person brings me joy. What a pity...
"Sir, are you buying drinks too?" I took a step to the side to make a quick polite conversation. I couldn't straight out ignore him either...
Unlike earlier, fatigue was clearly evident on his face and yet he still flashed the same pleasant smile.
"What did you order?" He asked
"Huh?" I was surprised if I heard him wrong "oh... Dango milk, I ordered Dango milk"
He nods before ordering the same drink as I did. I wonder if he'll like it? But should I walk away now... I have no reason to wait.
"I'll take my leav-"
"Do you like Oden?" He suddenly asked as he paid for the drink.
"Oden?"
He hummed softly, finally facing me with the drink in his hand. The drink looks absolutely weird with colors, I've never seen it before... Honestly, I wouldn't buy it if I saw it with colors but it's too late to regret it because the taste has long won my heart by now.
But why is he asking random questions now?
"It's delicious, I do like it"
"Good, I ordered for you too. It's on me"
"Huh? I wouldn't-"
"You wouldn't decline my sincere offer, would you?" He insists with a smile.
I would if you're not the Commissioner. I mean, I could've ended up in jail if he said so...
He casually sat on one of the tables for two nearby the stall, indicating that he knew I wouldn't decline the offer. This overly confident person...
The wooden chair and table glows with colors.
"Sir, I'm-"
"You can call me Ayato" he quickly insists on calling him with his real name while displaying a smile that reaches his eyes.
What's happening? I'm more than happy to have a meal with this person who has such vibrant colors however... I wouldn't want to trouble myself or get involved into any unnecessary situation especially with the Commissioner himself. His status is just too much... I couldn’t predict his actual intentions behind this sudden meeting.
Am I in trouble?
"My apologies... I'll try to get used to that... But I really wouldn't want to trouble you with this. I haven't done anything special at all to deserve a meal"
"Why... not at all. You can always pay me back if that makes you feel better, but am I not qualified to ask nothing in return?" He calmly spoke, looking up to me ever so elegantly, "Do I seem insincere?"
He effortlessly made me feel guilty...
"Well... Please excuse my bluntness" I quietly took the seat opposite him.
I slowly took a sip from the drink I bought earlier but actually it's just an excuse to not have any eye contact with the person opposite me. Standing a few meters apart was fine but this... We're on the same table, if I were to carelessly move my feet, I could accidentally step on his shoes. That thought alone troubles me.
"Hmm... This drink tastes good. A pleasant choice"
"Yes, it is..." I do feel awkward to be in this supposed to be a normal situation for most people. But for me, I just haven't had many encounters with random people, most are just close friends and family or colleagues that I've known for a few years.
Moments after, the stall vendor came by to serve the two bowls of hot Oden, freshly made with delicious looking ingredients. I gulped at the nice aroma of spices and flavors swirling in the air. Both of the bowls were placed at the center of the wooden table as I waited for the Commissioner to take his bowl first but unexpectedly he carefully placed a bowl in front of me.
For just a moment, colors spread across the bowl, a bright color of soup with a mixture of different colors inside it. I was truly amazed to see how bright the soup could be... Has it always been in that color? I've only been seeing it in a very uninteresting color all my life. People say food that turns bad will look grayish or have mold but all I can do to differentiate them is by the smell.
"Woah..." I couldn't help but feel surprised.
I was overwhelmed with feelings that I unconsciously met his eyes in that moment of excitement. Our eyes met yet again, only then did I notice my actions. A smile appeared on his lips that reached his eyes forming a crescent.
I cleared my throat, awkwardly looked away as I carefully grabbed a set of chopsticks.
He must've thought I hadn't eaten these things before... Have I really embarrassed myself now?
"Do you… like it..."
"Oh... Yes, of course." I sheepishly smiled. I'm never going to show up in front of him after this. It's way too embarrassing to be labeled as someone who gets overly excited over free food.
"The colors I mean, do you like it?"
"Huh? Sorry, I didn't get that?" I could've heard him wrong, right? Surely he didn't know that...
He let out a chuckle seemingly entertained.
"Aren't you curious to see your own colors?" He looked at me with an eager look, "...because I surely do"
"My apologies... But I don't understand. What do you mean by that?" I didn't have the slightest courage to admit it. I can only hide it along with an act, a fake confused smile.
However, what does he actually mean by that? I thought I was the one who couldn't see any colors... But why does he seem unable to see me with colors himself? More importantly, why is he even talking about colors as if he knew?
Due to my sight problems, I'm unable to differentiate the colors of my own outfits. Sometimes someone will point out if the colors of my outfit are overly unmatching. So, it's obvious that people can see me with colors. Does it mean that he doesn't?
He slightly sighed as he finally took a set of chopsticks for himself.
"Enjoy the meal" he smiled but the flicker in his eyes became a little dimmer.
How intriguing… Although I'm curious about the same thing he's been implying, how can I talk about that to him? He’s a total stranger, there’s no way he would be aware of colorless eye sight.
We both ate the food in silence until only a few centimeters of soup was left. He seems to be enjoying the Oden but I couldn't tell what he was actually thinking. Unlike me, I'm still restless about this person's real intentions. Everything seems too sudden, as if...
"Y/n would you mind going on a stroll with me?"
Unexpectedly, he knows my name too. I haven't told him my name but obviously he could easily find it from the workers logbook or official residence lists. Something like this would be easily accessible for him. I shouldn't be surprised. However, wouldn't that mean... He's been planning this all along?
"That, I..." I tried to find a proper excuse to refuse but yet again he insisted.
"Just for a little while." He softly spoke.
"But wouldn't that-"
"Please..." He pleaded while completely ignoring my excuses.
Truly he is the non-negotiable type. He won't even let me finish my sentence. No room for discussion at all...
So just like that... I happen to be walking along the sandy path near the Amakane coast. It was isolated but the bustling voices were still audible from afar.
"Come on, walk a little bit closer" he halted just to slightly turn to face me.
I think I wasn't that far behind, I'm just at a comfortable distance. Truthfully, I just liked to see the colors of the sand. Every footsteps he took, the colors would spread across along with him. If I were to walk side by side with him, it would be weird to constantly look down.
"Huh? Oh right... It's alright, you can walk on ahead"
"I believe that's not what I meant by taking a stroll with me" he swiftly walks back towards me, instantly closing the distance between us.
"Right. Understood."
He sighed seemingly revealing a helpless expression.
"We used to play mini games together during festivals, do you not remember?"
It could be possible that he somehow could have some time out just for festivals however having him as my childhood playmate would be highly out of the question. I don't believe I have such a friend.
"My apologies, I can't recall."
"Surely you remember the boy with colors?"
Colors? I do notice that he’s been talking about colors ever so often in between conversations. Is he hinting that he knows about my eyesight all along or he’s just trying to trap me into saying it myself? He’s quite an opponent.
"No, I still don't..."
"Well, if that doesn't work then how about last year's festival?"
I don't know what is the point of these questions... But I guess he's trying to make conversations? Certainly that's not necessary.
"I know we've seen each other that day" he added before smiling ever so slightly.
"Right, I'm sure everyone did too"
"Yes... but not everyone chose to stand near the souvenir stall every year to watch the speech" he deliberately paused "or rather observing me"
He knows?! How did he know that? Am I in trouble for just staring at him during the festivals? Is it against the law for not paying attention to the speech? Am I truly exposed now?
"Do forgive me, this won't happen again. I wasn't being considerate of my own behavior. Truly, I mean no harm..." I quickly explained in one breath, I know I can't hide about that anymore. Still... I feel ashamed of myself. I feel like burying myself and never to be seen again.
"It's alright..." He laughed, seemingly entertained, "...besides how would I know if I wasn't acting the same way too?"
I’m sure he’s just trying to be nice… how can he be observing me amongst the crowd out of genuine interest… Unlike me, he’s probably here just to warn me to stop such behavior.
I'm scared to even take a glance at him now. I could only act like I'm listening with a slight nod while my eyes were looking elsewhere. I can't even focus on what he's currently talking about right now. I'm too embarrassed to even stand here, in front of him. Forget about the colors, I'm dreading this whole situation right now.
"Please don't be upset... I wasn't trying to belittle you nor do I blame you. Forgive me, if I've said something wrong. I-"
Perhaps my facial expression is betraying me or was it my silence that let him talk in such an apologetic manner? I slowly encourage myself to keep calm, I should be professional. After all, he's still the Commissioner I can't misbehave.
"No worries" I slightly laughed trying to cover up my emotions.
"That's good to hear... I didn't want you to misunderstand me" he smiled seemingly relieved.
"No, I'm fine. I was just wondering how you'd noticed despite the distance?" Of all questions, I couldn't think of anything better to ask as an excuse.
"Will you promise me to tell me your secret after I confess mine?" Suddenly, his tone became a little serious.
"Oh? Nevermind then... That wouldn't be necessary. I won't ask that again." I spoke a little too quickly. I'm not sure if that question somehow crossed the line that his facial expression changed too. Even if it didn't, I don't want to get involved with confidential matters.
"It's understandable that you're still wary of me" He sighed, "Truthfully I wouldn't be here if it's just for political affairs but I'm here with you because of personal matters"
Listening to his words make things more complicated. I just don't get it? Did he really mean that he's here because of his own reasons? Or was it a confirmation that I'm not gonna be in trouble? What is he trying to gain?
Despite it all, I stayed silent and didn't ask any questions. If meeting me was just his personal matter, surely I have nothing to give.
"I've always been curious about you for a long while... I just didn't know how to approach you and I didn't want to scare you either." He slowly explained as he looked at the distant ocean.
Honestly, I'm trying so hard to stay calm and patiently listen to him. At this point, I don't know what he's trying to come out of this?
"I've seen you before... It was a long time ago when we were still kids... It must be fate that I finally get the chance to have an encounter with you again" A genuine smile formed on his lips.
"My apologies, I can't recall any of this. Perhaps, you got the wrong person." I try not to act indifferent to his so-called personal matters. Even if he's the Commissioner, if this is his way for getting woman to like him-
"It's you, I know it's you." He confidently spoke, which instantly stopped my train of thoughts about him.
I frowned, feeling a little annoyed by now. Although, I still find the colors beautifully mesmerizing within the sun's glow surrounding him... I can't seem to-
"I know because..." He paused just to meet his gaze on me, "...you appear colorless to me, similarly to the ink painting on a white paper"
I blink in disbelief, have I listened to him wrong? Is he telling the truth?
"Wh- what? I..." I could barely form sentences in my mind, "...is that true?"
"What about you? Now that I've voluntarily confessed, wouldn't it be fair if you do too?"
I quickly looked away, feeling hesitant. Should I really tell him? Can I trust that he's telling the truth? But even if he isn't, my sight isn't even anything special. If I'm just being played, no one would believe him for the things I'm about to say.
"I can't see colors. The world is colorless to me..." I deliberately paused just to gather a little courage. I might embarrass myself for saying this but no matter, "... except you and the things surrounding you. I wouldn't mind if you didn't believe any of that."
"Perhaps our slight age difference makes it hard for you to remember. At first glance, I thought you were a yokai but then your parents were there, ever so casually holding your hand." He softly smiled, while reminiscing about the past years.
My assumption of him was wrong after all... He was just trying to speak out the truth that even I can't remember. Of all things, he should've long forgotten about such an encounter, especially seeing me. I just hope I didn't traumatize him in a way...
"Weren't you avoiding me until now?"
"I didn't, I just finally get a chance today"
"I guess, you're really a busy man. I shouldn't be surprised"
"I could be... but just to clarify, my schedule is all under my control. However my chances are quite the opposite" he softly spoke as he continued walking.
"How so?" Honestly, I shouldn't be asking too many questions because as I recall, this was supposed to be a leisure stroll.
"Just like any other day, wouldn't you be ignoring every invitation that would come by now and then?"
Invitation? I've only received invitations from friends or colleagues asking to join dinner or drinks after work but I'd rather just buy takeouts and head home. If he meant this, I can only conclude that he actually knows a lot about me.
"Is that so... it seems, your appearance today is just to confirm your assumptions about me, aren't you?" I followed along while looking at the distant horizon on my right side.
“Not entirely… In fact, I’m just curious if you’d accept my invitation to join me for the festival next week?”

Study Buddies
A fic for Ayaka's birthday, it's a little late but I hope you like it!
Rating: Gen
Pairing: Ayaka/Lumine
Summary: The only thing that makes the stress of finals bearable is a hot drink and a new crush. Right?
Thoma sat up, his attention pulled towards the chiming door to Nights of Javonius, “Lumine!” He waved her over and then immediately flopped back against the couch with an exaggerated sigh, “midterms are the worst. Why do we do this again?”
“Because we must.” Ayaka replied with a smile, but found herself floundering for something to say when Lumine finally joined them. Her heart swelled with gratitude when Thoma literally jumped into the empty silence, getting up and gesturing for Lumine to take his spot on the couch.
“Hey! Have you ordered yet?” When she shook her head he gestured at the couch again, “please, I insist. Besides, I think Ayaka and I both need a refill and maybe a snack. What would you like Lu? It’s my treat of course.”
“Thanks Thoma. I guess I’ll have a cinnamon oat milk cold brew and a pumpkin muffin?”
“Sure!” He gave her a thumbs up and headed towards the counter. Lumine busied herself with getting her ancient laptop plugged in, propping it up on the table so that it would actually take a charge.
“How were-”
“What did-”
Both women looked at each other and laughed. The moment felt so warm and genuine to Ayaka her stomach was doing flip flops. She prayed to any archon listening that she could maintain her composure while working on their project. Being around Lumine kept her feeling giddy and taut, stretched thin over feelings she didn’t have the courage to name. At least for now, she could fall back on the muscle memory of years of practiced niceties.
She nodded to Lumine, “go ahead.”
“I was just going to ask how you managed to snag the ‘comfy corner,’ especially during midterms.”
“Thoma has pretty much been here all day studying, so he secured the couch as soon as he could. How were your classes today?”
“Exhausting, I cannot wait for midterms to be over.” Lumine dug into her bag, “I’m so glad Thoma offered to pick up the coffee and snacks. I don’t get paid for a couple more days, but I’m good for it.”
“Please don’t worry about it, either one of us would be happy to cover you.” Ayaka gave Lumine what she hoped was a reassuring smile, but she wasn’t sure how to read Lumine’s reaction.
“Are you sure?” At Ayaka’s nod she continued, “that’s nice of you, thanks. You’re lucky to have a guy like him.”
Ayaka wanted to laugh, but knew it was better to set the record straight. “Well, my parents adopted him when he was young, so we grew up together. But I am very lucky. He’s like my brother, but also my best friend.” She looked down at her lap, twisting the hem of her navy blue sweater in her hands.
“So you aren’t dating?”
“No, we do live together,” Ayaka paused, trying to find the right words, disappointment roiling in her stomach, “however it’s not like that. But if you’re interested, he’s not currently seeing anyone now.” She couldn’t avoid sounding quiet and withdrawn, as much as she wanted to ignore it.
“Oh no, Thoma is a sweet guy, and I think we could be good friends, but he’s not my type.”
Her reply hung heavy in the small space between them, but before either one of them could say anything else, Lumine’s laptop made a chirping noise.
“Oh Barbatos, what is wrong now!?” She yanked the laptop off the side table and began to type and click away, trying to fix things.
“Lumine, I can’t believe you’re still using that ancient hunk of plastic. Why don’t you upgrade?” Thoma carefully placed three plates on the table in front of the couch before pulling an iced coffee from the crook of his arm. He handed it to Lumine and sat down to take a monstrous bite of his bagel.
“Ugh I wish I could, but I’m just not flush enough for that kind of purchase. Thanks for the coffee and food.”
Thoma quickly chewed and swallowed, “don’t worry about it! We can’t work on empty stomachs.”
“It certainly wouldn’t help, right?” The barista Amber chimed in as she carefully held two steaming drinks, placing them on the coffee table and stepping back with a flourish. “One flat white with whole milk and one salted honey chestnut latte.” She pulled a fork from her apron pocket, “and this is for your apple cake Ayaka.”
The group offered their thanks and briefly caught up with Amber before she headed back behind the counter.
“Okay ladies, are you ready to crush this group project?” Thoma gave them a rakish grin.
“Yes, let’s do our best!”
“Yeah!”
- - -
Lumine nearly tripped as a snowy gust pushed the door shut behind her. She stomped her feet to get the snow out of her boot soles as best she could but given the general state of the floor, it felt like a lost cause.
“Hey Lumine!” Amber waved from behind the counter. She waved back and wrestled off her heavy jacket before she overheated. The weather had decided to conspire against everyone, giving the students a surprise cold snap and snow storm in the midst of finals.
“Amber. What is going on with this weather?!”
The barista grinned at her, “Archons, I know! It’s like they’re punishing us, as if finals aren’t bad enough. What’ll be?”
“Can I get a cinnamon latte and an all–nighter special?”
“You and your girl are gonna be working hard huh?” She winked and passed the cup to the barista before dropping the tokens in Lumine’s hand.
“She’s not-it’s, we’re just in classes together! And friends!” She ran her thumb over the coins in her hand and tried not to think about the alternative. “So I can study here all night and I get three basic drinks and a pastry right? Does the drink have to be the same every time?”
“Nope, as long as it’s not a specialty drink you’re good. And remember the rules, no horseplay and no sleeping.”
“Right. Well I wasn’t planning on the first and I think the coffee will help with the second. Thanks Ambs!”
“Good luck!”
Lumine sat across from Ayaka, dropping her things on the chair next to her. “Hey, how’s studying going?”
“Lumine! Hi!” Ayaka smiled up at her and there was something so sweet and endearing about her expression, Lumine couldn’t help but smile back. “Studying is going as well as could be expected, but I think it will be a long night. Not that we could go anywhere in this weather.” Her expression darkened, giving the windows a worried glance.
“I mean, it’s a good night to stay in, so that’s something.”
“You’re right. We’ll be fine. Now let’s get to work!”
A productive silence fell over their table as they each got to work, but a shuffling in the corner caught Lumine’s attention.
“Hey, Ayaka, the couch is empty, let’s claim it before someone else does!” She grabbed her bag and jacket and casually sauntered over, sitting on the still warm cushions before someone else got the same idea.
Ayaka soon joined her and they eventually managed to take over the couch and table in front of it with their things. Lumine left to pick up a spiced coffee for herself and jasmine tea for Ayaka, fixing them at the end of the bar before returning to her friend.
“Honey and almond milk for the lady, and an obscene amount of milk and sugar for me.”
“It must be cold if you’re drinking hot coffee for a change.” Ayaka blew on her drink and then took a sip, “it’s perfect, thank you Lumine.”
Lumine blushed at the praise but quickly changed the subject, “we’ll see about the hot coffee since it’s starting to get pretty warm in here.”
A few minutes later, Lumine realized that the hot coffee had in fact been a mistake. At first, she tried to just unzip her hoodie, but she could still feel the heat creeping up the back of her neck and finally just yanked it off, leaving her in yoga pants and a strappy tank top.
“Oh, um, are you, won’t you be cold?” Ayaka seemed to be flushed from the heat as well, looking back out the window instead of at her companion.
“Nah, this is much better. Once I overheat this is the only way I can cool off, I’ll be fine in a bit. Do you want to start reviewing for our final?”
“Yes, did you get the outline I sent you?” Ayaka pulled out her laptop and set it in front of them. Lumine pulled her notebook out and they fell into a steady rhythm of question and answer, review, discuss, and repeat.
It was past midnight when they wrapped up, with a productive but anxious hush having fallen over the coffeehouse. Lumine put her notebook away and pulled out her laptop, knowing she couldn’t put off finishing her term paper any longer.
Ayaka handed Lumine her coffee and sat down. Lumine’s stomach rumbled at the spicy aroma of Ayaka’s tea, “is that chai? It smells so good.” She took a sip of her coffee, exactly as sweet as she liked, “this is great, thanks Ayaka.”
“You’re welcome. Are you hungry? I still have a pastry token if you’d like it.”
Lumine shook her head, “I’m okay. I have a protein bar if I need something for now. I’m saving my pastry for when I need it, which is usually around 3am.” She laughed but it was cut off when her laptop screen flashed at her. “No, no, not now, please Paimon, get it together!” She frantically tapped at the keys while trying to adjust the charger.
A few minutes later she had her head in her hands. She asked around the coffeehouse, and not even the tech savviest of customers could revive her dead computer. While all her work was saved online, she had no way to access it, and her paper was due in eight hours. Rubbing her face she went to the entrance and cracked open the door, using the snowy air to try and calm herself down.
She knew her professor wouldn’t allow for an extension so close to the due date and she was running through any number of scenarios to try and figure out a solution. She flopped back down on the sofa, an anxious pit in her stomach.
“Here.” Ayaka handed her a laptop in considerably better condition than her own. “Use mine.”
Lumine could have cried, feeling relief wash over her. “Are you sure, don’t you need it?”
“I have my tab-” she was cut off as Lumine gripped her in a tight hug, letting go just as quickly.
“Archons, thank you! This paper is such a huge chunk of my grade and I’ve been struggling so hard with the topic.” She laid back against the sofa with her eyes closed, trying to calm herself down enough to focus on her work.
“I’m glad I could help. Let me just set you up.”
Lumine watched Ayaka through half open eyes. She was focused on her screen, her lower lip just barely caught in her teeth. Underneath the warring anxiety and relief, she felt a glimmer of something else, but she did her best to push it down and ignore it. She tipped her head back against the couch and took a deep breath before turning to face her.
“You should be ready to go, I’ve got you set up with a separate OS login and Waypoint is already downloaded, so you should be able to access your own browser account without any trouble.” She handed Lumine her laptop with a hopeful smile.
“You are amazing and I owe you my life. Or at least my grade in this class.”
“Please, I’m always happy to help a friend, and you were so distressed, it’s the least I could do.”
The very late night hush of the coffeehouse fell over them. Ayaka was alternating between her tablet, notebook, and textbook, while Lumine typed as quickly as she could to make up for lost time.
Lumine was pulled out of her term paper fugue state by a warm weight leaning against her. She nearly jumped out of her skin until she realized it was Ayaka, fast asleep on her shoulder. The rules of the coffeehouse were clear in her mind, and she knew Ayaka needed to wake up or they were going to get kicked out.
It was hard to push the issue though, especially when she tried to move and that only made Ayaka snuggle up to her. She was so soft, and Lumine wasn’t sure if it was just her shampoo, or her perfume, but she even smelled pretty. It couldn’t be helped though, especially when Eula tapped her on the arm. Lumine shrank back, knowing how stern the blue-haired barista could be, but relaxed when she saw her surprisingly gentle expression.
“Hey kid, she’s gotta wake up. We’re not kicking anyone out with the snow coming down like this, but we can’t have anyone sleeping either.” She shrugged on her coat and grabbed the shovel leaning against the wall. “Go grab a couple of coffees.” She leaned in so only Lumine could hear, “keep your tokens, but tell Amber I took them.” She winked and headed outside.
Lumine carefully shifted Ayaka away from her, making sure she didn’t fall too hard, and went up to the counter.
“Hey Ambs, do you have any more Stormbearer blend? And maybe a,” she squinted at the list of teas, “um, the Thunder Sakura Matcha? Eula grabbed my tokens when she went outside.”
“Mmhmm. I’m sure she did.” She gave Lumine a knowing smile, but didn’t press the issue. She slid the cups across the counter along with a small paper bag. “Just a couple extra pastries that we would have probably just thrown out anyway. Enjoy!”
Ayaka was still asleep when she got back to the couch. Lumine placed her tea on the table next to her and gently shook her shoulder. Ayaka woke up slowly at first, sleepy and sweet, murmuring Lumine’s name before sitting up, her eyes wide with panic.
“I fell asleep! I shut my eyes for only a moment, it just-are we getting kicked out? Is it already morning?”
“It’s still snowing and it’s not morning, so they’re being a little forgiving. Here, I brought you some tea and we got some free pastries. I didn’t put any milk or sugar in it, I thought you might want something a little bracing right now.”
Lumine felt revived by the snack break, and managed to push through the conclusion just as the sky began to lighten, arms shooting above her head when she wrapped up the last edits. “Finally! Done!”
“That’s wonderful!” Ayaka took back her laptop with a smile and slid it back into her bag. “You never told me, what’s it about?
“The title is ‘Immovable Mountains, Intangible Forms: Gender and the Divine in Rex Incognito,’ I studied a lot of Liyue literature when I was in school at the university there.”
“That sounds fascinating, you’ll have to let me read it sometime!”
Lumine felt self conscious but agreed, and they both returned to wrapping up their work and getting ready to leave as the coffeehouse and the campus began to wake up. They walked carefully to the corner where their paths home diverged, and stood off to the side, waiting.
“Well, I’d better head to my apartment,” Ayaka turned to cross the street, her hand barely brushing Lumine’s, shocking her to action.
“Wait-” she grabbed Ayaka’s hand, pulling her down a side street. “I just, can I, um,” breathing deep, she tried again, “can I buy you a pizza or dinner or something not at the coffeehouse? You saved my grade tonight, it’s the least I can do.”
Cold-pinked cheeks flushed pinker, and it took Ayaka a moment to respond. “Is that the only reason?”
The intent was clear as the post snowstorm sky above them, a crisp blue with only a few wisps of clouds barely blushed from the sunrise. The golden pink glow felt a little like the hope knotted tight in her stomach when Lumine replied, “do you want it to be?”
Before either one of them could say anything else, the clock tower chimed, pulling them back to reality. Fidgeting, anxious, Ayaka looked around, “no, I don’t.” And surprised both of them by kissing Lumine on the cheek before quickly crossing the street before the signal changed.
Lumine watched her leave, a flustered apology thrown over her shoulder as she left.
“That makes two of us.”

I’ve been considering rolling on the Fredom-Sword and Light of Foliar banner. I have 65 pity on the weapon banner right now, so I’ll get one 5 star within the next five pulls or something, and even getting a guarantee shouldn’t be much more than a hundred pulls. I’m ahead of my requirements for Klee and Eula, so it’s not an issue to do it.
tbh I’m not exactly thrilled about these weapons, but I really want to get Kaeya a 5 star sword, and there’s no telling when Ayaka, Ayato or the 8 months missing in action Primordial Jade Cutter will be back. Aside from a sword, I only really want Skyward Harp (potentially never rates up again) or Engulfing Lightning anyway.
One thing I’ve been considering is the 4 stars that would be on the banner. Usually, between one and three of the weapon types are from a limited series associated with the same nation as the 5 star(s) or the ongoing events. For example, the current Thundering-Kagura banner has Akuoumaru rating up as part of the Inazuma limited series.
Freedom has previously run with the Mondstadt Alley series and LoFI... ran with the Lithic Spear because Xiao’s Jade Spear and Lantern Rite. My guess is they’ll do half of the Mond limited 4 stars on Freedom-Sworn and the other half on Broken Pines (along with whatever Klee will bring).
I actually have Alley Flash already, on Bennett. Refines are useless. Alley Hunter is also basically useless, since I only care about ER bows. Wine and Song is pretty whatever too, but at least it’s ER and a new catalyst and not Eye of Perception again. There’s also Mitternacht Waltz, the... phys bow, too.
I guess my ideal banner would be Fav Lance (almost certain, barring Wavebreaker’s Fin with a steel chair), Fav or Sac sword (Fav is better), Fav or Sac bow (Sac is better), Wine and Song catalyst, and... Fav or Rainslasher for the claymore. Actually, I really want Akuoumaru but it just had to be on the current banner instead
Unfortunately, I’m almost certain they’ll rate up one of the two limited bows, since there’s two of them, urgh. Then either Alley Flash or Wine and Song, while the other one ends up with Broken Pines.
Since I’m so ambivalent on this banner anyway, I guess I could decide based on whether 1) Wine and Song is there (vs Alley Flash fail state), 2) Fav or Rainslasher is there (vs Sac or Bell fail state).
I’ll have to remember to check back on this in a week.
