Some Aur Lore:

For most of her teenaged years and young adulthood Aureia was part of a specialized unit within the Garlean military. She didn’t have much control over her own personhood—everything from her appearance to her associates to her fighting style was dictated and controlled by her superiors (which included her parents).

When she finally broke and defected, she spent several months travelling on her own and her hair grew out since she didn’t have time to maintain it. When she finally reached Ul’dah, she kept it long because she realized how much she liked it and also how much of a “fuck you” it was to her previous life. When she had enough money (she was dirt poor after arriving in Ul’dah, with only a couple of gil left in her pockets—she would have ended up on the streets if not for Momodi sending her to the Gladiator’s Guild), she bought her earring studs from the Goldsmiths’ Guild and carefully, carefully pierced her own ears. She may have messed up the placement for some of them and got them infected, but having multiple piercings made her happy. Another fuck you to her former life, another way of taking back control over her own appearance and her sense of self.

So it was very crushing to her in the aftermath of the bloody banquet, when she was racing across Thanalan with a bounty on her head, that she cut her hair off and removed her earrings to hide her appearance. Everyone knew what she looked like; it was the one thing she could do to blend in with the crowd. She later pawned the earrings in Ishgard (along with most of her jewelry) for extra money and committed to dying the red out of her hair and covering her half-elezen ears so she wouldn’t stand out so much.

All this to say – the dramatic Heavensward hair lop was fun for story purposes at the time. But now I have feelings about it and it tugs on my heartstrings thinking about how much she hides of herself during that period of her life coming on the heels of a time when she was just getting comfortable with herself.

Limsa Lominsa Aureia loves the landscape of Vylbrand. It makes her heart sing with joy. She enjoys the musicality of Limsa as a city, its rhythms and its flow of people, all the nooks and crannies. It was overwhelming to her at first, but her friendship with Jacke and the Rogue’s Guild changed her mind about it. When she visits, she can usually be spotted down on the wharfs of Fisherman’s Bottom.

Merlwyb is one of the few people who genuinely intimidate her and she has a long-lasting respect for her.  

Gridania She doesn’t enjoy Gridania, per se, but she doesn’t mind visiting it. There are things about it that she loves—the stained glass, the musty smell of loam and water clinging to the trees after rainfall. But the city paths are labyrinthine to her mind and she often finds herself getting lost, backtrack, and then try again only to get lost again.

She doesn’t understand all the nuances of Gridanian culture, and sometimes she doesn’t have patience for what she perceives as eccentricities. Some of the Elezen there have made comments about her ears that she didn’t appreciate, but it is nowhere near as severe as the remarks she has received in Ishgard. The Conjurer’' Guild in particular frustrates her and while she appreciates them for teaching her the basics, she was much happier learning white magic from different sources.

She has an unexpected friendship with Kan-E-Senna that began in Endwalker (during the tank role quests). She was cordial with her before—professional, but distanced—but now that has shifted a bit.

Ul’dah When she first arrived in Ul’dah she hated it. She hated the sand, the dust, the dirt. The narrow, twisting alleyways, the way the walls go up and up and up in Pearl Lane and block out the sun. She felt like the city was crushing her; she was trapped, with no money left, and no way out.

But over time she grew to love it. She found beauty in the city that pulled at her heartstrings. She fell in love with the marketplace and the rhythms of the people moving through it. She has many fond memories of her early days with Thancred, running all over the city together for one reason or another. Over time it became home to her.

And then suddenly it was not home.

The Bloody Banquet changed everything for her. Being exiled from the place she now called home hurt her in a very particular way. She can never really look at the city the same way again. She still enjoys visiting, but it will never be home to her.

Aureia deeply respects Raubahn. She is a member of the Immortal Flames and he is the first military commander to actually get her admiration. He was her mentor for a while and she enjoyed dueling him during the Grand Melee. It was a send-off—a parting and a final goodbye, delivered in the way that suited them the best. She is also very fond of Nanamo, and is willing to help her on any of her Lilira escapades.

PETER GRAVES

March 18, 1926

Peter Graves was born Peter Duesler Aurness on March 18, 1926, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  His elder brother was actor James Arness.  After high school, he served in the US Air Force. Afterwards, he enrolled at the University of Minnesota.

His screen debut came while he was in the Air Force, as part of the cast of Winning Your Wings in 1942.  

It was nearly ten years before his acting debut in a feature film with 1951′s Rogue River. The following year he made his television debut in the “Gruen Guild Theatre” production of “Victim: Ann Norville”. (Gruen Guild was a watch manufacturer, the show’s sponsor.)

 He was best known for his role as Jim Phelps in the CBS television series “Mission: Impossible” from 1967 to 1973 (original) and from 1988 to 1990 (revival). The original series was financed and filmed by Desilu Productions. 

In 1968, Graves and Ball joined dozens of celebrities announcing Christmas gifts to needy children on “The Dean Martin Christmas Show”. The two did not share any screen time. In 1971, Graves and Ball were both presenters at the “23rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards”.  Lucie Arnaz was also in attendance. 

In April 1986, Graves and Ball were both in the audience for ”The American Film Institute Salute to Billy Wilder”. 

Graves didn’t act opposite Lucille Ball until “Love Among the Two-by-Fours” (LWL S1;E3), and episode of Lucille Ball’s final, short-lived sitcom, aired on October 4, 1986. 

He played Ben, president of the Beechwood Construction Company. Ben is a widower who has three grandchildren and lives in Beverly Hills, and he has taken a romantic interest in Lucy. But first, he must answer to her over-protective family. 

The dialogue and the credits give him two different surnames: Marshall and Matthews. 

Graves made his final screen appearance posthumously in July 2010 in Hallmark’s film “Jack’s Family Adventure”. Ironically, he played a character that leaves a video will for his nephew. 

Graves was married to Joan Endress from 1950 until his death. They had three children together. Peter Graves died on March 14, 2010.

Months passed since Aurora had gained her audience with Death, nearly a year. She had learned all she could from the sorceress’ guild of Ashantil, and she felt that she had a much greater control of her abilities than before. She was powerful, and many in the village knew it. No one tried to talk her out of leaving to adventure the world, because they knew she would take care of herself. And with that, they knew that she had to leave so that she may use her power to aid those in need that she deemed worthy of it. The only people that took her departure hardest were her friend Vaeril, and her mother.

A month had passed in her journey after she left home. She was dressed in her elegant, revealing dark purple robes and a pair of simple sandals on her feet, and her cloak over her shoulders and it’s hood over her head. She carried no camping supplies with her as she had her own little pocket dimension she had created herself that was just a little home she could summon a door to whenever she needed it, and it was stocked with items and provisions she had brought from Ashantil. It was a nice little spacial magic spell she had created after months of practice, and she was proud of it. It was draining though even with her power, so she needed much more training with it.

One day after passing another village, she came across the site of a battle against a dragon. The earth was upturned and scorched by fire, and trees were burned down to ash. Aurora walked through the charred battleground, her nose just flooded with the smell of both burning wood and flesh, causing her to pull the scarf of her cloak over her mouth and nose. The battle must have been recent as there were still a few small fires around the area that Aurora had used her magic to snuff out. She couldn’t see any bodies around, so her first thought was that they had been burned to ash with only the afterscent remaining. But, it soon became evident that that wasn’t the case.

A minute into her search, she saw a half-giant man laying at the end of a long trench, his greataxe clutched in his lifeless hand as a tribal looking greatsword was strapped to his back. The dragon must have picked the poor warrior up after ending his life and had just thrown him away as if he was nothing more than a nuisance, not even bothering to eat him. Aurora made her way over to the body of the man and she could see that he was both very large at eight and a half feet tall and very muscular, but he was also very young. She could easily see that past all the burns across his face. His armor had withstood the heat of the fire at least, but had suffered multiple gashes across the breastplate that left his chest bleeding.

Aurora acted fast. She summoned her spacial home and with the aid of her magic, she took him inside, and she shut and locked the door. From the outside, the door just disappeared from sight. She laid his body on a blanket on the floor and threw off her cloak, then proceeded to take off all of his armor and what he wore under it, setting it and his weapons to the side while completely ignoring the fact that he was huge everywhere, and instead she focused on all the burns that had been sustained from the dragon’s fire flowing under his armor. She healed them all and sealed the wounds shut that were on his chest, and then she prepared herself for her ritual.

Silence filled the air as Aurora placed her hand over her chest, and then she placed her other hand over the goliath’s chest. An emerald green aura glowed around her hands and enveloped their chests as Aurora mouthed silent words of power for the ritual. She closed her eyes as she silently recited the spell and then the glow reached peak brightness. With her hands over her own chest and the fallen warrior’s, she leaned down over his face, her lips hovering just centimeters above his, and she let out a long exhale of breath that carried with it a green aura like the one surrounding her hands. The aura flowed into the man’s mouth and nose and flowed through his lungs, and Aurora continued to exhale for several long moments.

Soon, Aurora’s hands stopped glowing and her exhale of breath followed.

And the man sucked in a deep, long breath.

Color came back to his sky blue eyes and the tribal markings on his face glowed with a blue energy as his life was returned to him. He quickly raised up to a sitting position and his eyes blinked for several moments as he stared around the strange, unfamiliar, and very small room. He eventually laid his eyes on Aurora, and his confusion grew even more as he stared at her like a fool. He opened his mouth to try to speak but he was unable to form any words. His mouth and throat were extremely dry and he coughed when he tried to speak, but then soon after there was a mug fit to the size of his hand filled with water for him.

“Drink slowly, friend,” Aurora said softly and placed her hand on his back, and she began to heal the burns there, “You’ve been through quite a lot.”

The man drank slowly as what was left of his long, unkempt hair hung over his face. Everything was happening so fast for him, but all he could do was drink the water the Dark Elven woman gave him. Eventually, he felt his mouth and throat were well enough, and he lowered the mug from his lips. “Wh-wh-who are y-you?”

Aurora was shocked at hearing the half-giant speaking common. It sounded rather broken, but it was still surprising. “My name is Aurora Aramentay. Who are you?”

It took him a few moments to figure out what she asked. “C-Cronus… Stormw-wind…”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Cronus.”

“I… died.”

“You did. Thankfully I found you when I did. I resurrected you.”

Cronus looked at her in absolute confusion, his mouth gaped open as he tried to speak but Aurora lifted the mug back up to his lips. “Drink a bit more, regain your energy.”

Cronus did so and and now that his throat was getting better, he began to chug the water down. When the mug was empty, he watched as Aurora laid her hand over it and used magic to fill it back up with water. That led to him drinking from that mug much more slowly as his thoughts gathered in his mind of what happened, and it not only made him feel uneasy to remember that he had been killed, but it also terrified him to know that he could be killed by a dragon so easily.

“The dragon… tried to attack that village,” Cronus began to say, his voice low, “I saw it fly toward it, and I struck it with lightning to make it attack me. It did, and… it killed me effortlessly.”

“That sounds horrible, friend,” Aurora said gently and rubbed his bare, muscular back, “It seems like you did prevent the dragon from attacking the village, though. I passed by not even two days ago.”

Cronus let out a sigh and took another drunk of water, swallowing it down easily now. “That’s… one comfort to know from this.”

Aurora hummed softly. “You did a very honorable thing, Cronus.”

“And… you brought me back to life?”

“I did. I saw how young you are, and I felt I had to act.”

Cronus handed her the mug and he grunted in slight pain as he moved his body. Aurora tried to keep him still, but he was extremely strong and pulled out of her hands. She would have used her magic to keep him down but she didn’t wish to annoy him by keeping him down when he wanted to move. Soon, Cronus was in a kneeling position before her, his head bowed to her.

“I’m sorry… but your name is difficult for me to try to say,” Cronus began to speak, “You brought me back to life, and now I think I owe my life to you fully. If you let me, I’ll journey with you and be your guardian, and follow you with everything you want to do. Aur… A-Auro…” He let out a sigh, “Ara-Ara, I give my life to you. I hope you don’t mind me calling you that.”

Aurora was taken aback by the vow Cronus had given, but she couldn’t help but giggle a bit from what he called her. “I don’t mind you calling me by that at all. And you don’t have to pledge your life to me. I wouldn’t ask you to.”

Cronus shook his head. “It’s what I want to do with my new life that you gave back to me. That is if you would let me come with you.”

“Hmm I certainly wouldn’t mind a traveling companion, but I will not force you to do anything. You’ll do everything of your own free will, and you’ll always be free to say no or leave.”

“So you’ll take me?”

“I will. And I must say…” The sorceress crossed her arms and her eyes trailed downward, “It’s difficult to take your pledge seriously when your manhood is rather impressively touching the floor.”

Cronus looked down and he finally realized that he was completely naked. “Oh… sorry about that hehehe.”

“It’s alright, Cronus,” Aurora replied and she laughed lightly, “I’m no stranger to seeing a person’s body being revealed, although it was mostly those wearing very loose robes.”

“So… should I put clothes on?”

Aurora smirked, reaching over to grab the clothes Cronus was wearing under his armor, and she used her magic to begin mending them. It didn’t take long before she fixed his trousers, and she handed them to him. “That would make things a bit less awkward.”

Cronus took the trousers and chuckled. “Right…” He stood up and went to put them on, and it wasn’t long before he fell face first onto the floor, “…Fuck…”

Aurora was quick to his side and she helped him to a sitting position. “Just rest and regain your strength for now, friend. I’ll summon a bed for you and we can rest here until you’ve recovered.”

“What all can you even do with magic?” Cronus asked curiously.

Aurora hummed at that. “Well, I did create this pocket dimension we’re in right now, so I would say I know a good amount.”

Cronus blinked. “You're… really powerful.”

“I’ve been told~”

“What do you use your power for?”

“Hmm…” Aurora thought for a moment on her reply, and she smiled, “Well, I haven’t used it for many things yet. I recently left my own home only a few months ago. But, what I want to use it for is to explore the world and help all that I can with it. I want to use my powers for the betterment of everyone in the world and all who I meet.”

“That’s a noble goal.”

“Thank you, Cronus. Would you like a meal?”

“Fuck yeah I would. I’m hungry.”

Aurora laughed in response to that, and then she stood and began to go to work. First, she used a conjuration spell and summoned a bed out of thin air for Cronus, fit to his size and she helped him up onto it. Cronus began to slowly put his trousers on while the dark elf went to her kitchen area and by both her own work and aid by some magic she began to prepare a large meal for them both. While Aurora usually didn’t eat much, Cronus was much larger than her and in addition to being brought back to life, he would need much more sustenance to recover from the entire ordeal. So, the sorceress threw numerous large pieces of beef and chicken on a rack over the fire and summoned a bit of aid in the form of a spectral chef, who began to season the meat while Aurora prepared a stew.

Cronus laid in his bed for several moments while the succulent aroma from the meal being prepared filled the room. It began to smell like nothing he had smelled before from his clan’s cooks. He had never tasted anything more than simple, unseasoned meat cooked on sticks held over a fire so this was quite the change of pace for him to smell. He would try to stay awake so he could savor the scent of it as long as possible, but he was barely able to stay awake now that he was laying in the softest bed he’d ever laid in.

He turned his head and watched as his savior put numerous ingredients into a pot. Without a second thought, he devoted his life to her after she restored his life. Not because of her power or beauty, but because she gave him his life back. He had devoted his life to her so quickly, and now he was damned sure this was the path he was going to take. Aurora’s goals lined up with his in the sense that they both want to explore the world, and now his new goal was to help the sorceress in her own mission to help others along the way, and carve their own path into the history of Palara.

With those new goals set in his mind, Cronus soon drifted off into a deep slumber.
