i made a cake themed after the dance scene in revolutionary girl utena!!!

#revolutionary girl utena #adolescence of utena #cake art #shoujo kakumei utena #utena dance #fun facts: it took me 8 hours #i used Quiong Cookings steamed sponge cake recipe EXCEPT i steamed it in a double boiler in the oven #i used howtocookthats white chocolate ganache frosting recipe from her top 7 frostings #and finally i just used buzzfeed tastys mirror glaze recipe except i used powdered gelatin instead of sheet #i dyed the red frosting with oil based red and powder magenta food coloring but you can use gel #at 7 hours in i got so angry i covered my hands in red frosting and left red prints on the fridge #when your red frosting starts to melt you gotta put it in the freezer but you also gotta run your hands under cold water so theyre cold :) #the end of fun facts now only pain remains

Ok, bonus complaint number one

I fucking hate youtube style thumbnails so much. Like they're just... everything else aside they're so revoltingly ugly to me

Yes, they're eye catching... eye catching in the sense I can't help looking at them, seeing all the stuff I hate about them like the stupid fucking arrows everywhere, and so much the worse for them that they caught my eye cause they've just pissed me off and made me not want to watch the video

Anyway, there's a lady on there... think her channel is called "Howtocookthat", does a lot of very good videos debunking all these "food hacks" though not just like debunking, simply trying them (unless it's like mixing cleaning supplies together in which case she just explains about why that's a terrible idea), and then they just happen to often be bullshit that doesn't work

How this relates to my overall point is I hate her thumbnails, I hate them so fucking much because they're very very youtuby. They make it hard to want to click the video

In her case though I get it. She's trying to debunk stuff that's being put out by very viral accounts, like she's legit doing a public service, I can forgive her doing stuff to bump her up in the algorithm's eyes when it's to fight other people doing worse

Cause like... the videos themselves are very good, it's just the thumbnails I hate. It's a necessary evil in this case and I forgive it even if I can't stand that style

Everyone else doesn't have an excuse though (I'm sure there's a few other exceptions)

I don't know... I'm not sure if I'm just a weirdo and it's normal to like those thumbnails. If you agree with me, congratz on being right, but then again we're both on tumblr so... how much do any of us know about what seems to appeal to a lot of people?

Anyway... I just had to complain about youtube thumbnails again. I just feel the need to do this from time to time, because they keep existing and I keep seeing them, and I dislike that

A Polish vintage fashion YouTubers who’s content is so interesting and fascinating and fun. I love watching her geek out about new historical pieces. Also one of my moms favorite YouTubers as well. Offhand Disney: All things Disney Parks! History, abandoned rides/lands, favorite attractions. Everything. Evan Edinger: An American living in London. Travel vlogs. British Vs American. Everything. Plus. Puns! Lots and lots of puns! Swell Entertainment/Amanda: Her “main” content is “I tried it so you don’t have to” but she also has some “classic” YouTube vibes.
