Yagen Toushirou

The minute Yagen finds out that you’re sick as hell not in a good way, he immediately wants you to rest. He’ll fucking guard your room himself if he must. He doesn’t panic like Kashuu will (more on that later) but to him, it’s your health above all. He will be that nurse who comes to check on you every hour for updates, taking your temperature and so on and so forth.

He keeps his brothers away from you during this time. The more hyper ones at least, they can go sit in a corner and think about what they’ve done.The quieter ones like Gokotai or Akita or Ichigo can stay, he can trust them. They can help him take care of you!

And then you sneak outta your room while Gokotai’s tiger(s) didn’t notice and now you’re WORKING? IN THIS CITADEL? OH N O. Yagen may be small as fuck (5 feet/153 cm) but damn right he’s going to carry you back to your DAMN ROOM.

Now the more hyper brothers are of use. They rat you out the minute you try to work, and keep you distracted. Sure they’re going to carry you back to your room and take away anything that seems like work but damn right they are going to help you get better. It’s what the doc ordered!

If you’re just bored in bed, it’s up to Yagen and the Toushirous to the rescue! Gokotai with her tiger(s), Hirano and Maeda with stories and four leaf clovers, Hakata with whatever the heck he’s up to, and so on and so forth! Maybe Yagen will give you a lap pillow to help you relax? I mean you do it to him and he does it to his siblings. Why not complete the circle of love and give you a lap pillow!!

YEs he will still take away anything related to your work. Yes he’ll have his brothers guard you and watch movies with you. He’ll join in of course, letting you lean your head on his shoulder as you nap and then usher everyone out.

Yeah Yagen may get sick but it’s not like he can’t take care of himself! He can and will! He’ll multi-task and take care of you and himself at the same time!

All of the soup. He’s going to ask Kasen and Micchan how to cook and make you soup or something or other to munch on while you’re sick. Not really the udon song in Hanamaru but more along the lines of “sus looking but healthy and taste good so it’s edible” and he does make it with you in mind so it’s the thought that counts?

Yagen knows you’ll bounce back easily, it’s just a cold. You’ll only make it worse if you work! GO BACK TO BED. Don’t make him drug you. he won’t he promises

But if anything Yagen trusts you. He wants you to feel better! You are his master and you are important to this citadel. You just have to get better! Yagen will stay by your side until the end for that!

Kashuu Kiyomitsu

Oh this poor young man PANICS when he finds out that you’re sick. Perhaps he’s still thinking of Okita and how he died from his illness, immediately will ask if it’s some kinda disease similar to TB. But when Yagen tells him that it’s just a normal cold or something his panic leaves him but like - dude, he’ll still worry about you.

Assuming you two are together, Kashuu will know your habits by now. He knows that you will try to work while being sick so you wake up to find your room full of nothing but nail polish and beauty products. Where the fuck did your papers go? Back in your office where those damn things belong. You are not leaving your room while you are resting.

If you are bored, expect Kashuu to tell you stories or just do little things with you. Make hair accessories or accessories in general, paint and mess with your nails and hands - give you kisses. Sure you may look like hell from falling in and outta sleep like this but he loves you none the less!

And then you sneak outta your room to go work and Kashuu has to drag you back to bed. Asks the rest of the Shinsengumi to help seal off the door to your office. He’s carrying you as Yams and Nagasone lock the doors and Horikawa is making soup and Kane-san is just....being moral support.

If you keep on insisting that you want to work, Kashuu will only give you the easiest documents to work on, along with the shortest ones. He’s not letting you work for too long, he knows how bad it is to overwork yourself. You bet your ass he’s going to be there right next to you, hovering over your shoulder and taking your papers away when he thinks you have had enough.

Cuddles. Don’t fucking think that just because you’re sick Kashuu won’t cuddle your ass. Yes he’s a little concerned with you sneezing and coughing on him but if it’s for his beloved master (and romantic partner) he’ll do whatever he needs to do to make you happy!

No lippy kisses during sicky days. It’s forehead and cheek kisses or bust.

As you recover you can see the life shine back in his eyes, oh so happy that you’re okay! If anything happened to you, oh man Kashuu would be disTRAUGHT. He’s still going to hover around you though, worried beyond belief.

Most of all, if you’re uber cuddling during your sick times, KAshuu is more than willing to cuddle~!

and then kashuu gets sick and you get to spoil him!!!

Touch-Starved: Kashuu Kiyomitsu, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Sayo Samonji

Anon asked: who's the most touch starved out of the cast? pick the top three and write hcs about them! if you want to, of course ^^

I’m going to do nothing but cry about my boys, please witness my wordvomit.

Honorable mentions: Izuminokami, Kiwame!Honebami, Gokotai, Hasebe, Shokudaikiri,  Kiwame!Fudou,Yamatonokami, others I may be forgetting. Feel free to rant to me about touch-starved sword bois, they all kinda are anyway.

Kashuu Kiyomitsu

Platonic or romantic, Kashuu will always want to be by your side. He loves it when you pamper him, spoil him, praise him, holding his face in your hands, forehead kisses, cheek kisses, oh Kashuu could drink that all UP. 

Even before Kiwame, Kashuu will almost always find a way to see you out. At first it begins at mere words, tell him that you love him, romantic, platonic it doesn’t matter. But as time goes on, it evolves to touches. And Kashuu will realize that oh...o h.

He loves it when your hand finds his, fingers lacing together. He loves it when you bring him into your embrace, your fingers running through his long locks, sometimes twirling around your finger. He loves it when you do the same when you gently convince him to use your lap as a pillow, a thumb over his cheekbone, he could fall asleep here.

And then there’s the day he realizes he is in love with you, the day he realizes the touches you give him make his heart race like no other. Yes he loves Okita but the love he has for you is much much different. You are his master, but if it turns out to be romantic, Kashuu won’t know what to do with himself. His cheeks will flush whenever you touch him, and he leans into each and every touch you give him with the happiest of blissful smiles.

Kiwame!Kashuu is much more comfortable asking for your affection. If you two have yet to confess by this time, when he comes home, oh he’ll leap into your arms without a second thought. He had missed this, and will keep you there for a while. He’ll whisper into your ears how much he loves you, cheeks redder than his clothing.

But if you two are dating by the time he returns from his journey, the first thing he does the moment you two collide is kiss you. Air be damned when he does this, he missed you so much! He’ll hold you tight and even when Yamatonokami and the other swords of the citadel swarm him to welcome him home, Kashuu is never letting you go! Hell no! Let them try to take you! He’ll fight Yams with his bare fists if he gotta. 

Oh whenever you two do beauty shit together, that’s when Kashuu is his mouth touch starved. Platonic or romantic, Kashuu will hold your hands with the utmost of care when he’s doing your nails. Sometimes if he’s feeling bold, he’ll bring them up to his lips and kiss them. Sometimes sitting on your lap as a brush dusts over your face, or you sitting in his lap to do his makeup! Do whatever damn it! He loves it!!!

Kashuu will lightly swing your arms together whenever you two are holding hands and it’s just you two. No damn way is he going to let anyway else see this! He’ll never hear the end of it!

Oh Kashuu clings on to you like a koala bear whenever you two cuddle. He’ll whine whenever you get up earlier than him, trying to convince you to come back down and sleep wit him! Cuddle!!! Please!!!! He misses you! You give in anyway.

While Kashuu lives off of verbal praise the most, physical affection is just as perfect for him! It’s a way to know that he is loved, even if you are good with words or not!

Yamanbagiri Kunihiro

Listen maybe it’s the Kiwame!Manba feels but before Kiwame, Yamanbagiri isn’t...the best at physical affection unless it’s just two of you alone. Romantic or not, he feels dirty and uncouth whenever you two touch - intentional or not. He doesn’t deserve this, even though what you give him feels so fucking good. Platonic, romantic, whatever it is, Yamanbagiri falls fast and hard and it hurts.

He would always stare at your hands, then back down at his own, and then at yours again. He would always reach out towards the air, wanting to touch you but feel nothing back. Why would you ever return such emotions anyway? He doesn’t deserve them, he is a copy. A fake. Why would you even give him the light of day?

But the day you wrap your hands around his, and he doesn’t pull away? Why would he want to? Not when he finally feels your skin against his, fingers lacing with his? Oh Gods, he never wants this to stop.

He feels so fucking terrible for taking advantage of you like this, lower than low. But why does it feel so damn good????

When Manba comes back from his journey and gets more confidence in himself, he will ask for affection freely. Gone are the days he would flinch away from your touch, now he leans into them, closing his eyes and smiling oh so gently.

In the back of his mind, there is a part of him that screams that he is not worthy. But why would it matter anymore? Manba will accept your affection without hesitation. Yes his cheeks will still be a bright red but he will not longer hide himself and his feelings.

If you have not confessed to each other by the time he goes on his journey, expect him to confess to you during the after party of his return. Like Kashuu above though, if you two are dating, the moment he gets home, he kisses you. A soft peck, a long kiss, who knows! Manba just wants to let you know that you are loved!! Think of it as repayment for the love you have shown him.

Before Kiwame, Manba will never ask for affection even though is eyes would always wander to your hands. Like I said above, he would always hover and hesitate, it’s up to you to close the gap. Kiwame!Yamanbagiri on the other hand will happily ask for it, shyly of course. It’s different between from public with prying eyes to being alone but man does Manba secretly love it when you hold his hand and cup his cheeks.

Sometimes Manba loves it when you two just...lay there. Cuddling, Running hands through each other’s hair. Heads on chest, whatever it may be, He adores it. He loves it when he can hear your heart the most.

Manba may be bad with PDA and hides his general touch-starved self, but it takes time for him to slowly come out of his shell. Be prepared when he comes back from Kiwame, he wants to repay you for your love as much as he can!

Sayo Samonji

Oh sweetheart, Sayo’s need for affection is much different than the other two above. Yes he loves praise like Kashuu but at first, Sayo will deny the affection. He doesn’t think he deserves it, like Manba but...Sayo is a weapon. He is a killer. His heart is stained with malice. Rarely does he ever feel peace.

He gets affection from his brothers and it’s great but the affection from you is parental in a way. The head pats you give him almost make him cry, is it alright? Do you not fear him? His mind would be abuzz as he leans into your touch, turning off his brain for only a moment. Perhaps it was...fine for a while, no? You are his master, he has to listen to you in the end. But it feels so good, it brings him peace like how his brothers would pat his head and love him.

As time goes on, Sayo will begin to spend much more time around you. Shyly would be asking you for hugs, staring down at the ground, opening up his tiny arms. “C-Can...no, forget it.” he would almost look dejected, bringing his arms back down to his side and almost ready to turn away and run. 

The minute you do hug him though, Sayo melts. He closes his eyes, his heart slows, his brain shutting down the worst parts of his mind. He doesn’t have to listen to them. Not now, not here, not ever, so long as you hold him like this, Sayo can just be a kid. Not a warrior, not a poor boy born of anger and malice and famine. But a child, who can finally rest.

Soon enough, Sayo’s hugs will become almost spontaneous. Shy but out of nowhere. Most of them come from nightmares, when he sneaks out of his brothers’ room to find you. He loves Souza and Kousetsu, don’t get him wrong. But sometimes it’s just...better with you? He doesn’t know how to describe it. Maybe it’s because you have an outside perspective to his life and maybe it’s because he’s connected to you as a tsukumogami and master?

He just thinks you bring him comfort like a parent would.

It’s those quiet moments where Sayo will cry in your arms, and when he finally falls asleep, it’s a rare moment when you see a smile in his lips.

When he comes back from Kiwame, accepting who he is as a killer and a blade born from malice, Sayo almost feels much more free in a way. Yes he knows that he is a tool, but his affection for you is almost much more palpable. He won’t hesitate to ask you for a hug, sometimes finding you in your office or outside and asking, “May I sit on your lap for a little bit?” and plop himself there with a content smile as he leans into your embrace.

No Souza and Kousetsu aren’t sobbing in a corner what are you talking about. Both Samonji bros are more than happy to see their little brother open up to you like this!

Sayo’s affection ebbs and flows, comes and goes with the wind, but don’t doubt that he cares for you platonically and in a familial sense.

How To Lose Your Tantous: Gokotai, Shinano Toushirou, Taikogane Sadamune

No collage/artsy thingy this time. This time, you are getting a meme. Warnings: None. I’m funny I swear

The three tantous known as Gokotai, Shinano, and Taikogane have been with you since the beginning. Kiwame or not, these three have stuck by your side since forever and you wanted to thank them for their work. So why not take them to the mall to relax????

The minute you announce that to the trio however, their eyes light up. Sada-chan is already half way out the door and trying to drag you along with him. “Let’s go! What are we waiting for????”

Shinano is a bit more calm but he’s also tugging on your arm, not as hard as Taikogane but enough to be like, “Let’s go! Let’s go! I want to see what’s out there!!!”

Poor Gokotai on the other hand is worried you’ll be torn apart and tries to get them to calm down. Sadly he can’t bring his tiger(s) with him on the day trip but he makes a shy request to hold your hand during the trip. Of course you comply because who the fuck wouldn’t want to hold Gokotai’s hand???????? My baby boi

Of course just as you lot are about to leave, you get accosted by KIkkou, Yagen, Ichigo, Micchan, and Ookurikara.

“If anything happens to my little brother master...well,” Kikkou would say with a smirk, a familiar red rope in his hands. It’s not that he doesn’t trust you or anything. But he turns to Taikogane and begins to lecture him, telling him not to give you a lot of trouble.

“You lot be careful. Do keep an eye on my brothers, general.” Yagen would say with a smile. You know he wouldn’t try to threaten you or anything.

“Come back safely!” Micchan would say, having packed snacks for all of you. “Most of all, enjoy yourselves!”

Ookurikara is the one holding back the tiger(s) from following Gokotai outside of the citadel. It hurts Gokotai to be away from them but if Ookurikara is going to take care of them they are in good hands. He won’t say much, he trusts that the four of you will be alright.

And then you lose Sada-chan the minute you arrive at the mall. Taikogane didn’t mean to disappear on you like that! He saw something shiny in the distance and had to follow it! Shinano was hot on his heels though, so at least you know those two are together.

Gokotai refuses to leave your side, still very much holding on to your hand. He swings your arms a little, flushing and stopping when you notice, then asking if it’s okay. If Taikogane and Shinano are back from their shenanigans, you and the other will hold both hands of Gokotai and gently yeet him forward like you do with lil kids!

At this rate you might as well get kiddie leashes for Taikogane and Shinano since they will immediately run off to do whatever the hell they want.

Taikogane will always be on the look out for clothing, trying to look cool and impressive. “What do you think?! Do you like this on me??? I think Micchan will like this too! Oooh maybe I should bring back some clothing for the rest of them! We all can match!”

Shinano loves it when you spoil him, giving you puppy eyes as he points at something, “Can you buy this for me, pleaseeeee? I’ll be good I promise! And I’ll help you carry your bags too!” and then you cave.

Say goodbye to your bank account.

Gokotai on the other hand is much more subdued, when he sees something that he’s interested in he will lightly tug on your sleeve or arm and shyly question, “M-May I go see what that is?” and point at the thingy, then of course he will run off. He won’t go too far, oh no, he will always look over his shoulder to see if you are watching him/if he can still see you.

If you, the saniwa, are short as hell like the rest of them, be prepared for heart attack o’clock, all day every day. It’s hard to see them within a crowd so you will have to shout for them all the time. Shinano is easy to see due to his red hair, Gokotai is smol as fuck so it causes some issues and Taikogane is...somewhat easy to see? Just find him at the most flashy and cool things in the mall, or whatever the hell catches his eye.

Bless everything if you are tall as fuck though. You can see them over everyone and they can see you! They will never get lost if they can see you over everyone! They’ll immediately run back to you and tackle you into a hug (Gokotai is slightly sobbing at this point but it’s okay, just hug him and don’t you dare let him out of your sight every again)

What kind of stores do these boys like? Well, Taikogane will zoom in on anything that catches his eye. Clothing, trinkets, books, games, shiny things, whatever the hell! You’ll have to follow him everywhere though. He gets distracted by everything and you need to keep him on track. Is that one kid who is suddenly found carrying 60 plushies because you turned your back on him ONCE.

Shinano is slightly more controlled than Taikogane but he will also go find things that catch his eye. He’s more into the clothing stories though, finding little jackets and sweaters his brothers could wear! He will want to spoil the younger ones (you and Shinano have to hide any gift for Gokotai though, he’s right there after all, and you want it be a surprise!) and Shinano loves seeing their eyes light up when they get their gift. Of course he might gave and give his present to Gokotai early. Other than clothing stories, I would say Shinano is into little figures. Animals, historical figures, worldly places, who knows? He likes collecting things a lot.

Gokotai will adore bookstores and pet shops. He’ll find new toys and stuff for his tiger(s) and will love to get them a little collar with a bell on it. He likes bells, he honestly thinks that they are nice. As for bookstores, Gokotai would immediately look for fairy tales and books about animals with happy endings. He adores books and even more so when you or someone else offers to read to him! Hell, he even comes into your office with a book of his choice just for you to read to him!

Lord help you if they have an arcade/gaming corner in the mall. Gokotai doesn’t like all of the loud stuff but is enamored by the plushies. He’ll stick close to you while Taikogane and Shinano are trying to kill each other in lazer tag - wait where did they go? Why are those two suddenly bowling? Get back here!

If you have a cellphone with you, be prepared to take pictures of the little ones every 14 seconds. They’re just...so fucking cute. It makes your heart melt and almost sob.

Someone probably mistakes you as their parent or elder sibling. Just to play around, Taikogane and Shinano will call you by a parental term and maybe you’ll start crying right then and there. Just maybe.

Snacks? Snacks. These boys burn through energy so fucking fast so the snacks that Shokudaikiri gave you guys are gone by the second hour of spending time in the mall. Off to the food court you go! They’re willing to try anything new really!

If you happen to have someone you are romantically interested in (especially if one of Shinano’s elder bros or Sada-chan’s bros/other Dategumi) expect these two will casually slip in (not too) subtle hints. “Oh he’ll love this, I swear! Especially if it’s coming from you!” “Oooo, maybe you should give this to him! You know...for no reason.” Gokotai is at least polite about it. “I-I think that this...would make a great gift for someone!”

Lord help anyone who makes one of the tantous cry. Gokotai tripped over air once back at the citadel and you were ready to fistfight God themself. If someone trips over one of your boys or like sneers at them, you will immediately roll up your sleeves and go to town. All three of them have to hold you back but even then it’s a struggle.

By the time you four get home, the car is full of package to the point Gokotai has to sit on Shinano’s lap and all three of them are dead asleep. You need half of the citadel to help you get these damn gifts out of the car and carry the boys back to their room.

Horror Game Shenani-canons | Tsurumaru Kuninaga, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Heshikiri Hasebe

Warnings: I’m a wuss but I do enjoy horror games. I love the passion that goes into them and the lore and art and shit but like...it has to be day, lights on, and someone has to play the games not me. I can’t handle that.

Oh man okay Tsurumaru does enjoy horror games, though it depends on what he’s in the mood for. There are times he’ll want to play more jumpscare based games for the thrill, the excitement! Then there are times he wants to play the classics, the atmospheric ones like Silent Hill, Haunting Ground, and others! If this were a modern au, Tsuru would be that one streamer who plays nothing but horror games but have the chaotic energy all through it; threatening to stab a ho and dying when his plan of stabbing doesn’t work. 

Tsuru does not play games that has children in terrible situations or assaulted or killed. As much as he would love to play the Fatal Frame games of 1 and 2, it causes him to panic and worry more for the younger protagonists. He can play three since they have more adult characters. Rule of Rose is a no-go, has threatened to kill the main baddies on more than one occasion. 

If you enjoy horror games and are dating Tsuru, expect him to play with you a lot! You probably introduced them to him! You will probably be sitting on his lap or him on your lap and play together! If you get scared, Tsurumaru will wrap his arms around you and cackle. Sometimes will scare you as well! There’s a scary part? Bam! Tsurumaru will scream just to make you jump. He’ll apologize in the end though.

You look at a horror game with Mitsutada in the same room as you and he will run the opposite direction. Like Tsurumaru, any games with children getting hurt and brutalized is a big fat no. 

He just can’t handle scary games in general, and don’t even think about scary movies. No. He’s like me. If you really want to convince it, it has to be a sunny day, all lights on, you have main controls and blankets and pillows and nothing but cuddles after you two play. You will find Mitsu screaming ALL of the time, even at breaks of the game where there is no tension!

Yeah uh Tsurumaru can’t be in the same room as Mitsutada when he plays horror games, you will find Mitsutada on the OPPOSITE end of the citadel, farthest away from Tsuru and whatever shit he is up to. 

Hasebe on the other hand acts all tough, “Oh you wish to play this game with me? Of course! I will!” will act all brave but the minute you two start up the game “nope-ity nope, that ain’t dope”

Immediately starts shaking when you boot up the game, screaming at every interval like Mitsu and is lie, “N-No! I’m fine! I promise!” he is not.

Will want to hold your hand and have blankets around while you two play. You can just feel the fear emanating off of this man. 

And then all of you go to play together and uh. 

You have never seen Mitsutada cry out of fear before and Hasebe almost dying.

If you cannot handle horror games like those two, Tsurumaru will get the bIGGEST KICK outta scaring you all. Nightmares for weeks, popping out of the corner with a scream and cause you three to almost collapse in terror. 

If you are a big horror game then you two play pranks on Mitsu and Hasebe, of course you will stop if those two have had enough.

If anything it’s you, Hasebe, and Shoku all curled up in a blanket with popcorn and lights everywhere while Tsurumaru is in his little dark corner cackling away at your expressions.

All of you argue whether or not to keep the lights on during games. Tsuru wants it off and there is NO WAY that Hasebe and Mitsu will allow him. 

Cuddles for days for ShokuHase atter this, lord do they need it. Tsurumaru will cuddle you as well if you are up for it. 

And then Tsurumaru cuts the lights during the game and ShokuHase almost pass tf out.

Nightmares: Yagen Toushirou, Fudou Yukimitsu, Taikogane Sadamune

This is actually very interesting, digging into Sada-chan’s mind like this.

Warnings: Suicide, burns, blood, bodily harm, trauma because Yagen and Fudou have so much. Sada-chan being a sad baby pls hug all of the tantous.

Yagen Toushirou

Yagen’s dreams are full of fire. They’re not of him burning like Honebami’s, but more so of the burning of people he cares for, the people he tries to protect the most. Ichigo, brothers, friends, you his master. Watching them waste away in a fire and there is nothing he can do to save them.

Oh but the ones that hurt Yagen the most are when he can feel himself cutting open the stomach of someone he is meant to protect, organs and blood spilling out on to the ground below. Nobunaga had done so with him once. Gods forbid himself from hurting another like that.

Honnouji haunts him yes, of course it would. The fires, the screams, the pain, the sorrow, the lives he had to end. He awakens with a silent scream whenever that happens, tears budding at the corner of his eyes. He would like to wake up his brother but he is asleep, he won’t want to disturb him.

Then there are the nightmares that center around you, his master. If you and Yagen are particularly close during this time, he imagines himself driving his own blade into your form. His hands against yours, almost leading you into doing the dastardly deed. It is when he is waking up from that nightmare does he come to visit you, making sure that you are alive and breathing. He doesn’t mean to wake you if it happens, but when you do, Yagen will hesitate for a moment.

“Can...I come in?” he would question, and when you do, you two sit in silence for a moment. Yagen doesn’t know what to say, his lips tightened into a straight line, fangs chewing on his lower lip. You can see the bags under his eyes and when you ask what is wrong, it takes a moment for him to answer. “Nightmare.” his words are soft and simple. He won’t ask for much comfort, but your presence is good enough. Maybe he’ll hold your hand and feel your pulse, to confirm that you’re alive. Maybe he doesn’t need words to tell you what is going on through is mind, perhaps a touch is enough.

Maybe in the morning and in the following days, he’ll hesitate to touch you. Maybe he’ll keep an eye out for you, almost terrified whenever something sharp was in your line or vision. Yagen will watch you like a hawk but he wouldn’t want to overstep his boundaries. You know that he is doing this because of his nightmare and when you two talk it out, it’ll be fine in the end. He’ll worry but he knows you can take care of yourself.

Alternatively, Yagen will take a walk to clear his mind. Sometimes he will talk with Ichi-nii, telling him of his worries and his fears. Of his hands against the hilt of his own blade, dragging it oh so slow across the skin of his family, as they scream in horror and terror. 

His shoulders will shake, tears held back, Ichi-nii or one of his other brothers will hold him close, running a hand through is hair and telling him it’s okay to cry.

His sobs are soft as he is, quiet as the morning dew. Shoulders shaking, his heart stopping for a moment. He lets out his cries, his shudders, his fears, hoping that they will be lighter.

Yagen will be fine in the end, sure the nightmares are just that. Nightmares. They won’t hurt him, they are not physical beings that could rend him apart. But it does not change the fact even he fears them.

Fudou Yukimitsu

Fudou doesn’t know if the alcohol he drinks helps bring on the damn things or makes them go away or whatever the hell. He just knows that whenever those damn nightmares come, he wakes up with the most horrendous of screams in his solo room, the scent of alcohol replacing the scent of burning flesh and wood. He’ll immediately reach for the bottle again, hoping to drown out his worries and sorrows.

It’s a cycle. Drinking to forget the nightmares and day-mares that haunt him, of the failure that he is. Those screams and the patronizing chide of Hasebe or other swords, it eats away at him.

If you and Fudou are close, he will wander his way into your room or office, reeking of alcohol but for once not at all super drunk? His head is pounding as you look him in the eyes, red and puffy from crying. Fudou doesn’t know why the hell he’s here, but he just wanted someone to...talk to?

He collapses in front of you, tears fully falling down his face now. It’s heart wrenching to say the least. It’s ugly sobbing, loud and snot everywhere. He clings on to you, to the point fabric may rip. THe only thing you can do right now is to hug his shaking body, rub circles into his back and shush him, comfort him as best as you can. He doesn’t know where to go, who to turn to. Sure Odagumi are an idea but if you two are close, the first person he thinks of is you. 

Fudou would begin to apologize once he had calmed down, apologizing for being so weak, so useless of a sword to you. He would say those through his tears, laughing at himself and his shortcomings. You have to gently wipe them away, assuring him that those are not true. Fudou is Fudou, he is not and will never be useless.

If Fudou does not go to you, the first thing that comes to his mind is the rest of the Odagumi. He’ll stumble into one of their rooms (most likely Hasebe as he has a solo room and he doesn’t wanna disturb the rest of the Toushirous and Samonjis) and will wake him up, sobbing all the while. Hasebe will freeze for a moment, before bringing Fudou into a strange sideways hug. 

Fudou doesn’t know how long he can keep this up. These nightmares of a fire, or of failing the people around him. He wants to be stronger because of this, it hurts him so much that he wants to shrivel up and die like Nobunaga had. A part of him wants to join them, to throw himself into a fire and be with the master he loves - unable to ever return the favor.

The next morning, Fudou is a lot more quiet than normal. If you two are close, Fudou will be almost rivaling Hasebe in staying by your side. Yes Fudou will still be drinking to chase away the nightmares but it’s not as much as he normally drinks. HAsebe will find it odd that Fudou is hovering around you, silently yes, and somewhat still at a distance but Fudou is watching out for you more and he cannot complain.

Fudou will talk about his nightmares to you, or Hasebe, or whomever, but they’re jumbled through is sobs and cries. Give him a minute to compose himself, he’ll be alright in the end but patience is key.

When Fudou has had enough of these damn nightmares, the first thing he will do is barge into your office, a confident yet terrified sort of look on his face, courage in his eyes. “Uh.... Well... You'see, there's something....” pls cherish him im so proud of my baby boi

Taikogane Sadamune

Sada-chan’s nightmares don’t come as often as like Yagen or Fudou. While those two will have them much more frequently, and they are beyond violent, Sada-chan’s creep up on him. They start off fine and then creep into unsettling and terrifying. Yes Sada-chan does wake up with a start and sometimes a scream, with tears streaming down his eyes, but he won’t hesitate to seek someone out.

Like Yagen, he will try not to disturb the rest of the Dategumi sleeping in his room. If you and Taikogane are close during this time, he won’t hesitate to see you out, running into your room or office where you are, knocking on the door - quiet and reserved, different from the norm. When he does enter the room, there is a forced smile to his lips, big and proud - yet not reaching his eyes.

He will plop himself down beside you, silent for a moment, unable to look you in the eye before leaning against you. He will begin shaking lightly during this time, trying to keep his tears in, it won’t look cool if he starts to cry! “Master...am I annoying?”

One of Taikogane’s biggest fears (other than to be forgotten like Micchan) is more or less being a burden to everyone. He is hyper-active, a showstopper, proud of himself, but sometimes he wonder if that’s too much for the people around him. Yes he fears the rest of the Dategumi dying or hurt but Gods forbid the dreams where he thinks everyone hates him. Perhaps it’s a childish fear, but he cannot help but worry about it.

Hug him during this time, gently assure him that you love him dearly (platonic or familial) soothe his worries as much as you can dear Saniwa.

If Sada-chan does end up waking the Dategumi from his screams, they jolt awake immediately. It is Micchan is is awake first then Tsurumaru with Ookurikara very close behind. They will ask what is wrong and though Taikogane will try to play it off, smiling all the while - it is Tsurumaru who brings Sada-chan into his arms first. In a way, they all take turns hugging the boy, calming him down. Kara-chan will give him soft sideways hugs, no teasing for Kuri today, Taikogane more importante. 

Those dreams where everyone leaves him, tells him to his face that he should not be here, or snide comments, they hurt Sada-chan’s pride. He can only bounce back so much after all. His energy is finite despite how boundlessly adorably bouncing he is. He worries that he may be forgotten like Micchan one day, but he worries the most about if he’s annoying or not.

Those are the nights when each of the Dategumi will also take turns cuddling him, rocking him to sleep. Most of the time the duty falls on to Micchan and Tsurumaru, sometimes Ookurikara will do so in his own way - taking Sada-chan out for a walk to clear his eyes and give him some choice words about his worries.

In the morning after and maybe a couple of days after that, Taikogane will be much more subdued. He will be a lil bit more quiet than normal, preferring to stay near you or the Dategumi instead of interacting with everyone else.

But slowly does Sada-chan come outta his shell, the boundless energy he’s known for coming back. He’s doing his best because of the people he loves and the people that love him back!

Child Saniwa: Azuki Nagamitsu, Ichigo Hitofuri, Horikawa Kunihiro

Ah shit y’all, back at it again with the memes. Thank you for requestin, love~!

Azuki Nagamitsu

“I am pleased to meet you, my name is Azuki Nagamitsu...”

“....”

Azuki takes one goddamn look at this baby saniwa and is immediately claiming it as his child. Yes he’ll fight the entire citadel to stake his claim, he’s signing the adoption papers right now. No you cannot stop him. He can and will hold all of these children. He has big enough and strong enough arms.

“Pray tell, little one, do you like sweet things?”

“!!!”

Oh Azuki is a bit of an enabler. He does cook and bake a lot so expect him to sneak a lot of sweets and stuff to the lil kid. He already does it with the little ones around the citadel but even more so if he has a close relationship with the child saniwa. Yes he will ensure that they eat healthy and go to bed on time and maybe he’ll bribe them with sweets to finish their chores on time and all but hey, he does care for them a lot!

Azuki always calls them adorable, cute, and so on and so forth. He adores kids and maybe he has a photo album of adorable pictures of the lil saniwa and the rest of the kids around the citadel just napping together and sleeping together and holding hands and being cute, no he’s not crying.

HIs favorite thing to do with the kid is to go shopping with them! Holding their hand as they walk through whatever aisles they are looking at. Yes maybe he’ll sneak some of their favorite treats into the shopping cart, and maybe he’ll have to curb the child’s habit of snacking on everything but he caves in the end. He’s weak to their puppy eyes. Please help him, he might not be strong enough.

Is that one parent at a recital or something of their child’s with a video camera, crying, and screaming: “YOU’RE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE”

Azuki isn’t much of a fighter, it doesn’t mean he won’t fucking throw down with the government though. Watch him invite them over for a spot of tea and if they even make a damn negative comment about his master he’ll probably drop some poison in there. No he won’t he’ll just hug the kid closer to him and be that one meme of protecting Kevin Hart.

Azuki is already giving out head pats to all of the kids in the citadel, but to the Saniwa he’s rather physically affectionate. If they want a hug, they can get one. If they wanna hold hands? Hell yeah! Forehead kisses? Damn right he will. Loves giving them head pats and calling them a good kid the most.

Yes he will read them a bedtime story and of course it’s always ones filled with good morals and life lessons!

Azuki is also damn good with sewing. He will make little scarves, and patch up the clothing for the saniwa and even make some clothing for them! He loves it when they are warm and comfy in whatever clothing they like!

Yes Azuki spoils them rotten but he knows his limits. He is the typical overly proud dad who is happy whenever his kid is happy!

Ichigo Hitofuri

"I am Ichigo Hitofuri, the only tachi crafted by Awataguchi Yoshimitsu-”

The minute Ichi-nii sees this lil kid is his master, he is already bending down to their level and asking where the fuck are their parents. He’s a bit shocked to see someone so young to be his master but he won’t mind. He does have a LOT of little brothers after all! He can take care of them, adding another lil sibling into the bunch won’t hurt anyone!

Adoption papers? Signed? Awataguchi? Accepting of their new sibling. Government? uNFORTUNATELY STILL ALIVE. He knows what it’s like to have trauma and some of his lil bros do have quite a bit of it. Honebami, Yagen to name a few, and pushing such a duty on to such a young person like this...Ichigo won’t lie and say that he isn’t angry at the government for doing this. They don’t deserve this, why can’t they live their life out as a normal kid????

Oh Ichigo has experience in taking care of children and his brothers will also pitch in to make sure that the Saniwa is loved for and taken cared of! They have an army of tantous, two wakizashis, and a tachi at their beck and call now. No one is going to hurt them ever again.

Like Azuki, Ichigo adores children and this little saniwa is no different. Yes he’s rather stern at times and he doesn’t like raising his voice at them but he does need to be a guiding hand at times. He would never hurt them, and he just wants the best for them. He may get angry at them and scold them but he is doing it gently.

Yes the little saniwa is going to get roped into AWT48. Ichigo will personally help them sing and dance as well! If they have stage fright, no worries! He’s happy to still perform for them none the less.

Cuddles. Oh man this little saniwa is never going to be without physical affection. From Ichigo’s cuddles and head pats to the rest of the Toushirous just loving on the kid and random hugs outta nowhere, this kid is going to be so loved. 

Ichigo can kinda cook? Not as good as like Kasen or Azuki or anything but he’ll at least make something edible. Probably some instant stuff from a box, more like it. He can decorate it super good though!

If the kid has nightmares, Ichigo is the first to wake up and comfort them. His bros have nightmares a lot and he’s a light sleeper anyway, so he can relate to that - and is always there for them!

Bedtime stories with morals and lessons? Of course! Duh! It’s a group storytime! All day every day!

Ichigo is the big brother everyone wants. The caring big bro who will take a bullet for you, and will probably have some choice words for the government. He cares for you as a parent would, and is just always there!

Horikawa Kunihiro

“Excuse me, has-”

“....Ah, a second child to take care of.”

Horikawa already has a child on his hands kane-san and he’s already pretty motherly so adopting a kid like this isn’t too out of his range. He’s a lot gentler with them than he is with Kane-san, but no less strict.

No he cannot trust Kane-san around this child. ONe time he left them alone and the kid was stuck in a tree and Kane-san had a broken leg trying to save the damn kid. He will only let them interact under his or another sword’s supervision. Can and will fight Kane-san just to protect this kid.

As Horikawa is good at cleaning, he always tends to the kid’s room and helps them wake up on time. He will most likely be the hawk mum, watching over them with every change he can get to ensure that they are doing their work on time.

He won’t spoil them as much as Ichigo or Azuki would, but he would praise them and reward them in his own way! Mostly with praise and a head pat and a forehead kiss if they’ve been extra good! Yes he’ll cook for them and give them treats but nothing super duper big.

The minute the saniwa calls him Hori-nii or something he will cry. Hell he’ll take being called mom. He doesn’t mind! He’s just happy that he can be there for them!

Oh dude Horikawa will spoil them not with food but with lil things! A flower from the forest, a lil trinket from the store as he passed by, so on and so forth! He knows his limits though.

Yes Horikawa will not hesitate to storm the government building and demand to see whoever the fuck is in charge. He wants to know who the fuck was responsible for this. This is a literal CHILD, where are their PARENTS. Who aLLOWED THIS? Horikawa is now this child’s mom.

He’s like that mom that panics whenever the kid goes missing for like one second. There’s a lot of dangerous things the kid could get into (see the tree incident) and if they get hurt, expect Horikawa to be at their side quicker than Hasebe. Hell he can beat Hasebe in speed and in over-protectiveness, dO NOT TEST THIS YOUNG MAN.

Is also that one mom that is at the kid’s recital, crying joyous tears of pride as they perform. Always has a camera on him to capture such a beautiful moment.

Yes Horikawa is the mom friend and he will not hesitate to become the mom to this saniwa. He will ensure that they go to bed on time and keep them healthy. Will wake them up on time and just be that one parent who is always a presence in their life, knowing when to back away but keeping in touch. Like having ya mum as ya best friend!!!

Storyteller: Mikazuki Munechika, Kogitsunemaru, Nikkari Aoe

Sorry this took so long, love~! But here I am with these headcanons! I hope you love em!

Warnings: Nikkari can and will tell ghost stories, it’s basically Buzzfeed Unsolved but 100% more creepier. Mikazuki is a lil shit. Kogi is probs the only trustworthy one. Short general headcanons for da boysssss

Mikazuki Munechika

Oh ask Mikazuki to tell you a story he will smile softly, pat his lap (if you two are dating) or at the spot beside him, and will asking, “What kind, master? I know many.” and he does. 

He may look like a simple little jiji but this man has GOSSIP. He knows what the hell is going on in the citadel somehow, either by word of mouth or spying on everything and seeing whatever the hell they are doing. Maybe he’ll embellish the stories just to cause some chaos in the citadel and just to see you or a little one laugh, but Mikazuki does aim to please.

Lord help you if there is some romance going on in the citadel. Mikazuki is always somehow the first to know who is in love with who, even worse when he can tease them about it. Especially when it comes to you. He may let out some subtle hints that he knows what the hell is going on before full on explaining that he will do his best to help you get together with that person. If you’re in love with him however, jiji just blurts it out no qualms here. 

Oh he adores telling stories to the little ones. Those stories are always of lil shenanigans around the citadel, and probably fairytales and folktales. He will happily read to the little ones from a storybook. The thing is, as a storyteller, he may pause and try to keep the suspense, a guessing game in a way.

“Ho ho ho, do try and guess what happens next.” he would say with a smirk. 

And then there are times when he will ‘forget’ a part of a story and just make up shit on the fly. He’s really good at that. Along with sounding convincing most of time, you can’t tell if his little gossip stories are real or not at times. He’s very vague at times, probably because he’s a lil shit and will blame his forgetfulness on his old age. 

Jiji also tells stories that have a moral behind them, mostly for the younger generation. It’s good to tell stories and cautionary tales at time ya know? Especially the ones with a little violence. He will tone it down depending on who is present but will not hesitate to go into the gorey details if it suits him/trying to give someone a good scare.

Finds horror stories hilarious, can and will read some to everyone. Don’t go to him at night, he’s up reading horror stories. Will tell you all about them/tell anyone who is listening to him. No one is sleeping tonight, for better or for worse. 

Even his master is not safe from the gossip stories that Mikazuki will say, you have been warned.

Kogitsunemaru

Animal stories. Nothing but animal stories. Fairytales, folktales, myths, all of the above. Maybe it’s because he can relate to the said creatures of the world, forged by the god Inari and all. He has a soft spot for animal based tales. 

But telling stories is something that Kogi adores! The minute you ask him, his eyes will light up and will jovially pat his lap or the spot beside him. The minute you or a little one sits down, he will oh so happily go rant about whatever was on his mind. 

He doesn’t tell stories of the others around the citadel no that’s mikazuki’s job but if he does talk about his day, it’s always lighthearted and sweet. Full of nothing but praise for their coworkers but also sometimes he will have a dig at them. Perhaps it’s Mikazuki’s influence? Maybe Kogi want’s to go apeshit? Who knows? No one knows, only Kogitsunemaru.

Kogi lives for making people smile, ruffling their hair as he tells them stories. He will only pick out stories that have happy endings and that is a fact.

Will make up funny voices for each character/imitate the voices of the other people around the citadel.

See while Mikazuki will gossip to inflict 70-80% psychic damage and 20% to help, Kogitsunemaru’s gossip are at least 50/50, they are meant to help but sometimes he does give out psychic damage.

Only wholesome ghost stories in this house. No way is he going to tell the more terrifying ones that will cause a ho to stay up past their bed time because ghosts scary.

Is also slightly into conspiracy theories for shits and giggles.

Nikkari Aoe

SAY GOODBYE TO SLEEPING IF YOU ASK HIM TO TELL YOU A STORY. GOD FORBID HE TELLS YOU A GHOST STORY.

Nikkari always seems to know the best ghost stories. If you happen to be into that kind of thing. Stories you haven’t heard of before, tall tales, cautionary tales, folk tales. So on and so forth.

Despite this, Nikkari knows to tone down his stories for the little ones and you if you lot cannot handle ghost stories.

Nikkari may know a lot of stories, but he will try his best not to scare anyone around him. Because of this, he will pick up stories from the other swords or even from books he has to read.

But Nikkari is really good at making up stories too, his stories are almost unorthodox. Think Lewis Carroll and Alice in Wonderland kind of nonsense. You can still make out what the hell is going on, but he paints such a strange and vivid scene that you cannot help but admire the poetic words that pour of his mouth in utter awe.

Of course, if you or another one asks to hear a different story, a more wholesome one, Nikkari will do his best. It will be wholesome but it’s just full of so many twists and turns! He knows what to do to make your hair stand on its end, for a good reason this time. His voice is super nice after all, you can fall asleep to that shit.

Will happily read a story to the tantous or you! As said before, Nikkari has a very soft voice. He becomes a wonderful reader of like sweet wholesome bedtime stories as he strokes the head of anyone who is with him at the time.

He is also very much into conspiracy theories. Think Ryan Bergara energy but with Shane’s snark.

Shokudaikiri MItsutada

Micchan being shaken to tears is rather easy. Look at his nightmares. Of the earthquake of his breaking of...of a lot. You two being together or not, Micchan tends to wake up in tears because of these nightmares. They hurt him so so bad.

It’s worse when you two have a close relationship, romantic or not. Micchan has nightmares about you. Of your death and that’s a given. But if you die, he thinks that he failed you. That he is supposed to be this cool sword, ingrained in the memories of people to not forget him. He worries that you will indeed forget him and take the memory of him to your grave

It’s the same with the Dategumi and the people around him he’s become close to. Nightmares of their deaths.

But to be honest I think the thing that makes Micchan cry the most (other than the nightmares) are earthquakes and the idea being useless - of failing.

Going back to the serious Micchan headcanons I made, Micchan cannot handle the idea of coming back from a fight and just...not being able to protect someone. He internalizes things a lot and it’s really not healthy. He brushes off concerns of others, claiming that he’s alright. If the Dategumi gets hurt during a night, of course he’s going to not take it all that well. It’s his fault. What if they fucking died?

It takes a lot for Micchan to cry, but sometimes the tears just come out? He hides them for so long that sometimes it’s just building and building and building until the dam bursts and he’s just found crying in the middle of the kitchen?

He tries to cry alone though, no one should see him like this. He won’t look cool if he cries, showing weakness to the people around him. They’re going to think lowly of him, disgusted at his weakness.

Yagen Toushirou

Yagen, like Micchan, internalizes his feelings a lot. He won’t admit that he’s crying or anything and it’s rare for him to even do that at all. It hangs in his heart, a weight - a stone to a sinking ship. Except the stone is like a fucking meteor that is plummeting him down faster into the depths and he’s drowning and he can’t breathe and one wrong step he’ll choke himself on the chains- Yagen does not cry.

When he does though, it’s...quiet. He is a protective sword, a close combat fighter. If anything happens to his brothers he would be devastated. If anything happened to Ichi-nii he would almost want to die. He’s calm, collected, and put together. Crying is a business he isn’t made for.

If you two are close and you’re hurt? Yagen will shed some tears for you for his brothers - then it’s back to normal Yagen. He has to shove them aside, they’re useless in the face of battle.

It’s rare for him to actually sob, it’s collected tears at the corner of his eyes. Tears he doesn’t know are coming, a foreign sensation. It begins soft, maybe there’s some heart-wrenching whimpers but most of the time it’s quiet; a hand over his mouth to prevent him from being heard. He cannot be heard. He cannot be found crying. That just isn’t him.

If anything if there is an instance where he is in fact brought to tears it centers around his brothers or you, when either one of you are injured - or worse, a brother broken. Again he will go on a walk to try and clear his head, to be brave in front of the rest of the citadel. He is stronger than this, one of the most mature of the tantou. Then it just...comes out.

The sobs are a little louder this time when he cries of a broken friend or of a broken brother, of how he failed to protect them - or how he could have protected you better. He beats himself up about this a lot.

Yagen’s tears are silent, creeping up on him, invisible. It doesn’t seem like he’s crying half of the time but you need to catch him and hold him during that time.

Koryuu Kagemitsu

Koryuu will admit that he has some abandonment issues and issues with himself in general. He was once considered a fake just because he was in the possession of a peasant family.His entire life he’s been passed from one person to the next, like Souza in a way. While Souza is much more melancholic about it, Koryuu portrays it in a way that seems alright?

If anything, Koryuu is just a lonely soul. He’s had many masters and none of them were....good? He wishes for a saniwa that is pure and honest.

So telling him a lie will honestly crack his trust in you. Not being up front with him will also cause him to not resent you but become distant.

If anything, Koryuu cries whenever someone else cries. He shares their pain, he cannot handle it if someone is hurting. He wants to make them happy. It’s almost Tsuru-like in a way but for Koryuu, he’s a bleeding heart. They shouldn’t feel such a thing.

Koryuu rarely cries. He doesn’t hide it like Yagen or Micchan above, but it’s more so along the lines of he can openly cry in front of others.

But what gets him is the fact that his journey to find his one true master, the master he can trust above all us might be...fruitless? All of his masters are poor, betrayed, demonized, or died horrible deaths. When this reality sets in, that he’s just only to be passed from one person to the next, no real home in sight - that scares him the most. Romantic relationship or not with Koryuu, he’s scared because he can’t find a place to belong to. That is what scares him the most.

It’s when this thought settles into him, that a home or a one true master does not exist because it can’t. Humans are flawed, one may think that they are just but the other party views them as demonic - does Koryuu begin to cry. He’s chasing after a dream that he knows isn’t real, he buries it under being all free-spirited, to try and breathe hope and life back into that goal of his. In the end though, he’ll never find it.

Child Saniwa: Tsurumaru Kuninaga, Kasen Kanesada, Hachisuka Kotetsu

It’s meme time

Tsurumaru Kuninaga:

“Yo, I’m Tsurumaru Kuninaga. Are you surpr- what?” “......” “Why is there a child here?”

The minute Tsurumaru finds out that you, his saniwa, is a literal baby, he immediately begins to sign the adoption papers. Damn it all, he failed to protect a child int he past and there’s no damn way is he going to fuck this up this time!

A part of him was ready to fucking kick down the doors of the government though, ready to scream at them for sending a child into battle. Yes during times of war, such a thing can happen, but the modern world is different? Besides, what is ever wrong with the idea of letting a kid be a kid?

Tsurumaru is a bad influence, spoils the lil tiny kid saniwa rotten. THey ask something from him? Of course he’ll give it to them. Candy? Always has it in his long sleeves somewhere. A hug? Immediately will carry the lil tiny child around without hesitation.

If aNYONE looks at his charge the wrong way, expect a sword to their throat immediately and a very miffed off crane, “Oh ho, do you have something to say to them? Why don’t you say it to me?” yes he will threaten the president or some other government big wig. Don’t fucking test him.

Seeing them smile is what makes Tsurumaru beam more than anything. it almost reaffirms his vow to protect them as long as he still lives and breathes. In battle, Tsurumaru is focused yes, but most of all he wants to return to them. Gods forbid anyone getting hurt and the little one is in tears. No way will he ever let them fall.

It warms his heart when the lil Saniwa gets along with the rest of the swords, especially the Dategumi. It’s like having permanent baby sitters working around the clock for the lil one. He’ll probably cry if he sees Sada-chan and the lil saniwa cuddling together just napping.

Will also start sobbing if the said saniwa calls Tsurumaru their big bro/dad. Tells them to always call him that from now on.

Expect Tsurumaru to always be causing little tickle fights with the saniwa! He wants to see them smile, to hear them laugh! He will surprise them, appearing out of nowhere to scare them and maybe with a lil batch of treats to smooth it over. He’s not trying to scare them to death! No! He adores them!

Tsurumaru can and will be found cuddling with the little kid during nappy time, holding them oh so close to his chest, almost hissing at anyone who tries to take them away from him.

Tsurumaru cannot help but thank the gods, and fate for this second chance of protecting a little one. He was only a sword back then, unable to do anything. But now? Oh, every time the little saniwa smiles at him and clings on to his big white coat, the crane swears it to the spirits and his own lifeforce that he will protect them better this time.

Kasen Kanesada

“It is quite the pleasure to meet you, maste- oh?”

“....”

“.....What have I gotten myself into?”

Now Kasen is pretty decent with kids, he isn’t terrible as he can deal with Sayo, but dealing with a lil saniwa like this causes him to pause. What had he gotten himself into this time? How would this affect their relationship? If Kasen is the starter sword of the little one, then Kasen would obviously feel a much stronger need to protect them.

If Tsurumaru is the enabler, then Kasen is the responsible parent. He ensures they go to bed on time, eating the right meals, dressed properly for the occasion, so on and so forth! Yes he will melt under their puppy eyes and eventually give in to their whims, but Kasen does have his limits. Ever so gently will he scold them, wiping away any tears they shed. 

Like Tsurumaru, Kasen will also hold little snacks in his pockets for them. Probably fruit compared to like candy but if the little one is a good kid he’ll slip them something sweet from Azuki. Has to stop the other swords from spoiling the little one rotten as well, even if he has to drag Tsurumaru away from them.

Whenever Kasen has to leave for a mission and has to leave the little one’s side, he leaves behind a poem and a note for them to cheer them up. In fact, his notes/poems are almost a frequent occurrence!

While Tsurumaru will full on bear hug his little saniwa, Kasen will mostly give little head pats. If they are desperate however, then he will give them a hug. It’s gentle, not at all suffocating. He would rub their back and maybe ruffle their hair a lil bit.

While Kasen is indeed protective, he won’t suddenly press a blade to the throat of the enemy...yet. His anger simmers before exploding, snidely making a quip about their lack of intelligence before threatening to kill them with his bare hands. He won’t lie and say that he isn’t angry at the government for having such a young one in the face of danger. They remind him of Sayo and how the tantou never got to be...well, himself.

Kasen is stern and strict yes, but he is not without method to his madness. He wants his lil saniwa to grow and become an elegant, proud, and move forward. He knows that he may not always be by their side and he worries of that day when he leaves them. He wants to spend much more time with them in his own way. It doesn’t have to be with words, it can just be existing together in the same space.

Kasen works a lot, and when the little saniwa asks him to relax, it’s very obvious that he is reluctant to do so. He has so much to do! The citadel needs him! But he will cave under their lil pouty face and sighs, agreeing to a nap with them in his arms. Expect the others to take pictures of this.

Kasen can and will cry if they refer to him as a big brother/father, compared to the outright crying of Tsurumaru, Kasen’s tears and sniffles can be seen but he won’t start bawling just yet. Pride does bloom within his chest and while Tsurumaru will ask them to always refer to him with the title of big bro/dad, Kasen will want to be referred to by his name or the big brother title. It will take some getting used to but he’ll fall into that routine.

Kasen fusses over the lil one over the smallest things. IF they trip and fall and hurt themselves? Kasen is by their side with a band-aid and ready to fight God. Can and will fight the time government by sending them letters to utterly burn them to the point they could never hope to recover from his words. Or just straight up kick down the door to an office and demand to see whoever the fuck is in charge.

Hachisuka Kotetsu

“I am Hachisuka Kotetsu, the true authentic-”

“??????????’

Hachisuka takes one good luck at this lil kid of a saniwa and he is confused. Why? How? What? Where? When? Though as he has experience of being a big brother, he will gently bend down to their height, questioning them oh so gently. Yes he is just as confused as they are, but Hachisuka will take it in stride. If Hachisuka is the saniwa’s starter sword, he will feel an immediate urge to protect them of course!

Sure he can handle Urashima but a whole ass child? Is there a manual for this???? Urashima, help! When he does have advice from other swords on how to take care of a kid, Hachisuka will dedicate himself to them.

Found taking pictures of the saniwa and Urashima getting along, no Hachisuka is not crying. What are you taLKING ABOUT

Compared to Kasen and Tsuru who are found crying when the saniwa refers to them as dad/big brother, Hachisuka is almost proud of it. “Of course, there is nothing I can’t do after all! If I will become family to my master, then so be it!” inwardly sobbing though.

If Tsurumaru is the enabler, and Kasen is the strict parent, then Hachisuka is the big brother who is trying his damn best. He is strict like Kasen but will submit to their will and ultimately spoil them in the end.

Can and will keep his lil saniwa away from Nagasone, but will relent if the saniwa adores his brother too. That won’t mean he’ll keep a close eye on them whenever they are together, worried about them. Maybe he’s worried about Nagasone too? He won’t admit it though.

If anyone threatens this tiny lil child of a saniwa, he immediately hands them over to Nagasone and Urashima, rolling up his damn sleeves and is ready to beat some ass. Nagasone has to hold him back though. It does mean Hachisuka can and will get into a shouting match with the fucker though.

Is that one father who does nothing but brag about the achievements of their child, proudly displaying their awards and adorable pictures of them for all to see! Has an entire photo album of the lil saniwa and their achievements, full of their smiles and they make him sob.

His affection isn’t as physical as Kasen or Tsurumaru. It’s soft headpats, sometimes awkward. But Hachisuka does care for them, tucking a lock of their hair behind their ear, telling them that he is proud of them, and bringing them into a gentle hug.

Hachisuka will carry the lil saniwa to bed and it’s during those times of quiet and peace where Hachisuka will think. Like Kasen, both purple haired warriors will appreciate these silent moments. As he strokes their head to sleep, Hachisuka knows that their time is limited. None the less, to be the best parental/familial figure this lil saniwa has ever had, he will do his best!

Based off of these headcanons I’ve done, a sweet anon has asked for a platonic scenario with Koga-papa~! So here I amss. Thank you so much for being so patience!

Warnings: Angst? Hurt/comfort? KOga-papa being Koga-papa. I just like the idea of Koga calling the master ‘little one’

“Dear little one,”

The master’s body shakes at jumps at the term, eyes pouring into crow’s own. “Yes?”

“Whatever is the matter?” dainty and slender talons place the stack of papers back down on to the wooden desk, painted lips curled downwards as a drooping flower would; the father’s pain palpable whenever a child is suffering. They sit at the window of their office, the scent of spring within their nostrils – of dew and flora, of sadness and loneliness despite the gaggle of boys outside, screaming and playing and laughing.

Everything the opposite of what was within.

“It’s nothing.” The master closes the window, latching it shut with a firm click, finite and striking, echoing. “Please don’t worry about me, Kogarasumaru.”

The crow does not speak for a moment, the frown only deepening, clipped wings instead of a wilting flower. “Come.” He speaks, suddenly sitting at the couch within the room, patting at the cushions; then came a pause, talons grazing against his own lap. “Lay your head on my lap, dear little one.”

They flush and stutter, “B-But-“ “You do this all of the time for others, no? Why not let this father pamper you for a moment? It is only right.” Ruby lips speak nothing but the truth, and slowly do they follow his words.

First they sit next to him.

Second they lay their head on his lap.

Third…they still.

Wrinkles appear on their skin, from ages and ages ago, mirroring the crow’s earlier crown. But time had not been kind to either of them – both forever beings in a sense, both born of strife. If the father could take away all of the pains of his children, he would. His talons rake across the scalp of the sage, careful to not dig into skin and cause crimson to flow. The crow only hums softly, a song crafted on a bird’s wing from somewhere in sometime. He did not know.

The thrums of a hummingbird’s wing, the chirp of a nightingale, the serenade of the canary; wrapped into the raven’s beak and imparted on to the one that gave them life.

Wetness strikes the cheeks of the sage, soon staining the onyx fabric. The father does not cease, he only exists.

They all exist, but none have existed as long as he – or in a mortal form as long as their master. They all have experienced loss, but the master experienced it with a human’s heart firsthand.

They are alone.

Their dear master is alone.

Kogarasumaru did not want that to ever happen again.

Music Headcanons: Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Hachisuka Kotetsu

Oo the starter swords, I got a special place in my heart for these lot. I sorry if these short lmao

Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki

See, MuMu adores music. Folk songs especially. He sings a lot so don’t be surprised if you hear him randomly belting out songs from Tosa! He has such a good voice, change my mind. 

Mucchan adores songs that more or less tell a story, folk songs that tell of tales of bravery and strife. 

Most of all, Mucchan loves sea shanties. It’s probably because he adores the ocean and boats in general. Especially if they tell a story. Think that Wellerman song on tiktok!

He would also adore all kinds of foreign music. Going back to the idea that Mucchan would love learning new languages, he would of course adore all kinds of foreign music! Celtic music the most probably, since they have a sense of adventure in them; something he adores.

That isn’t to say he won’t listen to other music! He will happily do so! Don’t be surprised if he will sing along to it, no matter what language it is! He may not be uber fluent in the said language but he’s trying his best! Besides, sometimes music can help you learn languages! 

100% that person who uses music to work out, sea shanties are great for doing chores and just existing in general!

Would also have a record player in his room, just for the aesthetic. He would almost collect music players at this rate!

To help him sleep at times he plays instrumental music or ambiance. Most of the time it’s of the sea, he makes sure that his room is farthest away from Hotarumaru and Horikawa though, so they won’t have to hear the sounds of the ocean and uh...get PTSD

Mucchan will also sing for you as well! Or anyone else that is listening at least. He’ll sing for the kids, for you, for his partner or whomever he is dating, so on and so forth! He adores music in general so of course he’s going to share his love for it loud and proud! 

Is also one of the sword warriors more than willing to learn a musical instrument 

Yamanbagiri Kunhiro

He’s more of a person who will listen to songs of self-worth, or something peppy to take his mind off of things. He doesn’t have a lot of confidence after all, so listening to songs to help boost it do help! He wants to be better for you, platonically or romantically. 

Kiwame Manba will still listen to songs that will lift up his spirits but it’s more so for background music as he does work. Normal Manba doesn’t listen to music while he’s working as he’s worried that he might not be able to focus on the task at hand and fuck up and thus earn your ire. But Kiwame Manba will know that you’ll be fine if a lil mistake happens while he’s listening to music. 

When Manba sings, he’s very shy about it and most of the time he will be singing soft songs that he listens to or the songs that the AWT48 have made. Kiwame Manba will be more than happy to sing for you, if you so ask him. Normal Manba will only sing by himself, soft murmuring when he thinks no one is listening to him. Will flush if someone does hear him sing though. He has a nice voice!

Yamanbagiri has a secret fondness for love songs, finding the dedication to someone sweet. 

Don’t be surprised if you catch him listening to classical music, or folk songs, or even songs that the others recommend him! He has a bit of a hard time saying ‘no’ to anything so he’ll collect a lil treasure trove of music in his device or CDs, whatever have you!

A song that I think Manba will enjoy is Masayume Chasing by BoA (because i adore BoA) the right kind of peppy and good message sending out. Catch him humming along to the song, maybe dancing along to it when he comes back to Kiwame; and then almost freezing in fear when someone catches him. 

Like Mutsunokami, Manba will also have a record player. Sometimes he’ll play music on it, but it’s mostly there for collection. It looks pretty cool on his room after all!

Manba doesn’t listen to much when he sleeps. Nighttime does give him time to be alone with his thoughts and sometimes they are just too much. He will turn on music to try and relax, blasting Masayume Chasing in his room to chill tf out or something like a guitar! 

Kiwame Manba will 100% be ready to learn how to play music, most likely piano though. 

Hachisuka Kotetsu

First off, Hachisuka’s voice is nice, I just wanna let y’all know before I continue. He is also a man who will want to learn how to play an instrument, shamisen, piano, violin, flute, don’t matter yo. He wants to learn! He adores music, and will often play for Urashima.

Urashima on the other hand probably listens to a lot of music and shares it with his big bros. Most of the music influence comes from Urashima yes, but Hachisuka will 100% want to play something for him. Nagasone is debatable but anything to make Urashima happy!

Don’t be surprised if Hachisuka learns how to play the instrumental version of a popular song on whatever instrument he’s playing! lmao watch him do instrumental covers of tkrb songs

Hachisuka does sing and claims he’s good at it, he is and will happily sing for Urashima and company if Urashima asks for it specifically. 

Would he listen to other foreign songs? Classics like Bach, Mozart, etc and such are a big fat yes. 

A song that Hachisuka will like are classical songs that are almost...epics in themselves? Similar to the ballads that Mucchan listens to, I think of Alan’s Shin Sen. 

Like the others above, Hachisuka will happily have a record player, but it’s along the lines of a gramophone? Ye olde aesthetic man, he wants it there just to look pretty as fuck. Will most likely ask for a piano, violin, flute, or maybe even a music room though!

He won’t mind cover songs that other artists do, but he cannot help but feel like they cannot capture the original. Perhaps this relates to himself and his beliefs but why ruin an original? Maybe he’ll find himself bopping to it in secret? Who knows? No one does except Urashima and maybe Nagasone. 

When he sleeps, he will prefer some music to drown out the snoring of Nagasone. He seems to sleep more peacefully to the sound of traditional Japanese music though.

i had a thought... what about tsurumaru, a tachi with a long history of masters, after intending to rest forever, with the immortal saniwa, who's seen more death than a regular human should? or maybe nikkari, a "cursed" sword, with a similar cursed saniwa? maybe oodenta, a divine sword, said to cure any illness, whose spiritual power was so strong animals would stay away from him? there are so many possibilities! you can pick any one of these three or write all of them if you want! tysm!

Been a hot minute since I’ve wrote for Oodenta so HERE WE GO: Immortal!Saniwa idea taken from here~! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE LOVE~! Note: I have this lil headcanon that because the Immortal!Saniwa is a cursed being, the more divine swords (Tenka Gouken, Ishikirimaru, and Taroutachi to name a few) and their touch will hurt the master. I cannot help but think even the mere act of touching them will cause the divine sword to either be repulsed or the master to begin to fucking burn. So yeah.

FEAR ME (NOT)

“Do you fear me?”

Oodenta never did.

How could he? The master was an immortal, yes, but they are still…human. So fragile, able to bleed as a mortal would. He is a sword, a warrior, a divine blade meant to ward off illnesses and dispel diseases. By all of the stars in the sky, he is their polar opposite.

They, a cursed being – a monster who has lived for far too long, a cursed being, burdened with watching the seasons pass and flowers and lives wilt; beloved ones taken away by the snow and buried under the earth for eternity. Yet their heart remains aloft, full of life, the blossom waiting to spring forth again. It never died, no matter how many boots it was trampled under, no matter how many winters had threatened to freeze it solid.

It’s survived to this day, a persisting flower growing through the stone boulders that it was thrust against; overcoming them, outliving them.

But what is he?

A divine blade, a warrior meant to kill. His heart pitch black from the curses he had absorbed, spiritual power oh so intense that the fauna fear him for good reason. Is he not the antithesis to them? To the master who is cursed from the beginning?

“No.” he answers the master, slightly turning his head to face them – their face illuminated by the yellow of sunflowers, and of the golden sun itself.

“Do you not fear me?”

Does it not hurt to be around him? A blade full of purity, a cursed master, shouldn’t he burn them? Their skin curled into blackness and dead cells.

A hand finds his, and the man flinches from the touch, startled. He stares down at the offending limb and the scent of slightly burnt flesh hits his nose. There is a hiss from the master – dark and light colliding, clashing. “Master pl-“ “I do not fear you.” They speak through the pain, their hand squeezing his tighter. He feels nothing but they do.

They always have.

Dategumi Shenanigans

Ye have asked, and ye shall receive

Now we all know that if you want to find either one of the Dategumi, it’s most likely in the kitchen. You’ll find Mitsu there most of the time, sometimes with Kara helping along with Sada-chan. Tsurumaru has been banned from the kitchen. Or being around knives. Or your office/computers/bank account.

Tsurumaru can’t go anywhere without one of the other Dategumi swords or someone to like “bodyguard” him. But really, the “bodyguard” is protecting the entire citadel and you from HIM. 

No, Sada-chan cannot “bodyguard” Tsuru. He will be roped into his shenanigans. You can only rely on Shoku and Kara to keep him out of trouble. Sada-chan tries. Oh he TRIES.

The last time Sada-chan was in charge of keeping Tsurumaru out of trouble, the horses were found loose in the garden, the garden shed was on fire, and Hasebe almost died from a heartattack. 

You know those dog-shaming and cat-shaming pictures on social media? Yeah, you have to make Tsuru wear one of those signs. There is also a little board that everyone keeps track of Tsuru shenanigans. It’s always at least two or three days since Tsuru does something to wipe the board. 

Case in point? Perhaps Tsuru was listening to you for once. It’s been five days since he has done something ANYTHING to wipe the board. It helped that Hasebe and Ookurikara had been watching the man around the clock as well. 

And then you sent the Dategumi out into town, “You four deserve a break!” you claim as you hand them your credit card, purposefully dodging Tsurumaru’s outstretched hand and giving the piece of plastic over to Mitsu. “Do. Not. Let. Tsuru. Touch. It.”

So guess who lost the credit card the minute they arrived at the mall? Yes. Tsuru stole it and kidnapped Sada-chan to go have fun. 

Mitsu almost had a heart attack and he could have swore that he could feel you and Hasebe’s presences scolding him. So he immediately run off to find them.

Kara jogged behind Mitsu at a slow pace, he won’t admit that he was worried beyond belief - both eyes scanning the mall to figure out where the fuck those two went. He knows just as well as Mitsu what kind of things that will catch either Tsuru’s or Sada-chan’s eyes. They zoom in on to an arcade where they heard Sada’s screaming within. 

They found them at a claw machine, Taikogane cheering on Tsurumaru as he wins yet another plushie for him and the citadel.

“What in the world are you two doing?” Kara would demand, arms across his chest as Mitsu clasps a hand over his heart, trying to calm it down. “How...much did you two spend?”

The pair would stop, glancing down at the arcade card and then the credit card. “A lot.” Tsurumaru would answer without a second thought.

“I put him up to this!” Taikogane slid in front of the other man, trying to protect him from the wrath of the other two. “I...I wanted to win things for our master and the other tantous. I’m sorry!” he would bow at his waist in apology.

MItsu would coo and cave, bringing in Sada-chan for a hug. “It’s alright, Sada-chan. We can win things. It is our day off, but don’t ever run off like that again. And you,” he holds out a gloved hand, a much more cross look upon his face. “Give back the card. We’re letting Kara-chan keep it this time.” 

So they start a food fight at the food court after they leave the arcade with far too many prizes to hold. 

Some ho probably poked fun at Sada’s clothing and all three Dategumi swords were ready to bash some heads in. And then Tsurumaru piledrove the dude into his own box of fries. 

So uh, they’re banned from the mall and arcade now.

You don’t let them out of the citadel without permission anymore. Or without you. 

And then you saw that at least one third of your bank funds were depleted.

Nightmares: Kashuu Kiyomitsu

Oh ho. Nonnie, I like you.

Warnings: Kashuu has so much baggage please help him. Me, projecting

Oh gods, the nightmares Kashuu has are just...not good man. They center around various things. His breaking and abandonment, eventual abandonment, you, so on and so forth. Kashuu wants to be loved and the idea of just...not having it from you terrifies him.

His nightmares are always so violent, when Okita tosses him aside, telling him that he’s useless, the death of dear dear Yamatonokami, or worse. You. If you two are dating by this time, Kashuu’s nightmares about you are horrendous.

Your death is very probable in this situation. There is also a threat of death that hangs over the head of a saniwa. Be it exhaustion, illness, or actively murdered in battle. Oh Kashuu would not be able to handle it if you died and he was unable to do anything about it. But the nightmares where you abandon him just because he wasn’t cute, strong enough, or close to breaking?

Ah, that causes him to wake up in a sobbing cold sweat.

It’s during these times that when he wakes up, he’ll cling on to you. If you are not awake by this time, he will try not to bother you, even if he wants to. He is shaking, worried that if he wakes you up from your precious beauty sleep you’ll hate him. But if you do wake up, Kashuu is in tears, clinging on to you like you are his lifeline - in a way you are.

Rub his back during this time, comb your hand through his hair, whisper the softest of praises and comfort into his ear.

It is during this that he will ask, through his sobs and chokes and hiccups, “Do...do you love me?”  and you will tell him that you adore him with all of your heart, no matter how many times you have to say it.

If you two have a more platonic relationship, Kashuu will probably stop by your room with a soft knock, wanting to talk to you about his fears.

When he’s in his shared room with Yamatonokami on the other hand, it’s different. Kiyomitsu doesn’t have nightmares often and pushes down those feelings so not to bother his fellow Okita sword. And then there are times that they just...flow. Yams wakes up to hear him crying, sobbing and shaking, and the first thing Yams does is to softly pry Kiyomitsu’s hands away from his face. They hug it out for a while, rubbing the back of the red-clad sword until he is ready to speak.

Kashuu’s deepest fears is of not being of use to you, to anyone around him. No matter what, those fears won’t die down. That’s why he always tries so hard to be good to you, to look better for you, to be of use to everyone around him. After all, that is why you love him right? He may be a weapon, but he at least can look pretty and help you, no?

Kashuu is silent after his nightmare the next day, keeping more so to himself and yet hanging around you more. He insists on being your assistant that day, staying by your side and almost rivaling Hasebe or Tomoe in terms of over protectiveness. You may need to talk to him about this, and assure him that you adore him - platonically or romantically, Kashuu is just happy to know that you love him.

Nightmares: Tsurumaru Kuninaga

I...have a lot of feelings about sword bois and their trauma/nightmares. I’m no expert and I can only assume but seeing as Tsuru is very interesting, I can’t help but scream about him.

Warning: Mentions of being buried alive, all the sword bois need therapy and a hug, me projecting, romance with the saniwa, Dategumi comfort I sWEAR

Tsuru’s nightmares creep up on him. Silent and deadly. His dreams are silent - sometimes a blank space, or starting off as a good normal dream - and then they drop right into the fear category which causes him to wake up with a scream or a jolt. Its one of those rare times fear passes through his lips, the sound raw and unsettling. It almost surprises him - in the most terrible of ways.

Tsuru cant breathe whenever he has his nightmares. A hand at his throat to check if air can still pass thru his lungs. Claustrophobic. Sometimes he will rush outside to see if he needs more air. Its jarring to see him like this. Sometimes he has the urge to run out of the room, into the air where he can breathe. Then the scent of fresh dirt hits his nose and he is reminded of a grim thought: He can’t escape. 

Perhaps because of this, Tsurumaru (while he does enjoy hugs) almost flinches a bit before melting into an embrace. He has no qualms if he initiates it, wrapping his arms around a person and holding them close. But it’s different when someone hugs him. It may tie back to the slight claustrophobic feelings he has from being in a grave for so long, but Tsurumaru doesn’t like being the small spoon all that much. 

If you are dating Tsurumaru and he awakes, screaming and almost clawing at his neck, desperate for air, it takes a while for you to calm him down. He is almost hysteric for a moment, then silent, realizing that he is alright. It’s when your hand touches his, our cups his cheek does he stop. He glances down at you, a smile that doesn’t dare to reach his eyes. “Hey, sorry, I just...I just need to get some air.” he climbs his way to the rooftop soon after. 

Of course if you join him he’ll insist that he is fine. Nothing is wrong! He plays it off with a smile as he hides away from the barren earth below, that once took him away. The further he hides in the air, away from it, the safer he is, don’t you think?

It does take a while for Tsuru to come around to tell you, and sure you two hug it out but Tsuru does bounce back after a while. He’ll promise to tell you more if you want, and to lean on you if he ever has trouble with anything. 

If you two are not dating and Tsuru is still sharing a room with the Dategumi, he wakes up and he is loud. His screams echoing in the room and shaking Micchan awake first. Micchan was always a light sleeper so when Tsuru begins to scream he shoots up. Next it Taikogane who jumps over to Tsurumaru’s side. Finally is Ookurikara, who is slow to wake but is hyper aware of his surroundings now that he knows something is wrong.

“Tsuru-san?” Taikogane would question, rubbing his eyes and trying to make the sleepiness flee. “What’s wrong?”

The first thing Tsurumaru would do is to suddenly hug Taikogane. His breathing unsteady, visibly shaking. Micchan would rub soothing circles into the back of the crane bastard and while Sada-chan would be surprised, he wouldn’t try to move. They know that Tsurumaru has nightmares like the rest of them and it’s a quiet moment of solidarity. Ookurikara would open the shoji doors, letting in air; even if it was cold outside. 

When Tsurumaru is ready to speak, Sada-chan won’t move from Tsurumaru’s lap. Sada-chan is around that age, physically, in the eyes of Tsurumaru. He reminds him too much of his former master, who died oh so young. Taikogane will probably play with Tsurumaru’s clothing or his hands, like a little brother would do when they were fidgeting. 

His words are quiet and smiles are forced when he’s talking to the rest of the Dategumi. Of course they can see right through him. Sada-chan is the first to react, hugging him around his waist, loose and gentle in case Tsurumaru wanted to squirm away. Tsuru does return the hug. 

If it pleases Tsuru, then maybe a window will be open as they sleep. Taikogane will also happily cuddle with Tsurumaru.

In the morning, there is no doubt that Micchan will make Tsuru his fave dish. Ookurikara is silent yes, but as Tsuru is waking up, there is a mumble of, “We’re here, don’t hide everything if we can help.” that Tsuru does smile at. 

The entire day consists of “Cheer Tsurumaru Up!” plan. Tsuru doesn’t go outside, staying inside with the rest of his friends chatting, playing games, or whatever comes to their mind. It’s here where we see Tsurumaru getting the rare big ol hugs from Micchan and others. Ookurikara don’t do hugs.

University AU: Izuminokami Kanesada, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, Juzurmaru Tsunetsugu

Izuminokami Kanesada

The one fucker that turns in his work late and sleeps in class. Horikawa has to make sure this dumbass doesn’t end himself from eating too much cup ramen and cook for him. Izumin is a bit of a slacker with his work and stays up late playing games or just doing...whatever the hell he’s up to. Is he a player? Maybe? Why do you wanna know? There’s no doubt that he is a gorgeous man so he’ll have multitudes of admirers.

It’s not that Izuminokami isn’t smart or anything, he’s just pretty lazy. Sure he relies quite a bit on Horikawa already but in college Horikawa is more or less his tutor/mom all rolled into one.

Izuminokami cannot deny that he is a party animal. Most likely a frat boy. A respectful frat boy, hell no he’s not getting the more dumb shenanigans his frat bros are into. He resPECTS women and the queer community damn it. Can and will get into fist fights to protect them.

Yes he will walk someone home if they don’t feel safe.

Found sleeping on benches and in the library. 

Is that one moron who doesn’t hurt because he forgot like my bro and i and Hori-mama has to remind him to PLEASE EAT FOOD I S2G.

Is a night owl, always out at clubs and shit. Yes he knows that he has to do schoolwork but like...pARTY. He still can’t drink to save his life though, ends up passed out pretty quickly if you don’t keep an eye on him. But his morals won’t go away, hell. Can and will still fight bastards while drunk off of his ass.

I think Izuminokami would be a literature major or a history major. He may not look like it, but he adores going on rants about the subjects he’s interested in. That or he’s super duper into the study of bugs. I’ve seen Izuminokami having a bit of a interest in beetles due to him being rather young amongst the swords, so I think he’ll be interested in that!

Super interested in martial arts and kendo, catch him in a competition and his admirers are cheering him on from the sidelines.

Actually now that I think about it, all of the Shinsengumi swords in the college AU have to make sure that Izuminokami is alive because this ho can’t take care of himself for shit. His room is always messy and sure he does clean up and stuff but dude, please take care of yourself. Horikawa is already at his limit.

Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki

Frat boy, party animal. He might be in the rival frat to Izuminokami’s but can actually handle alcohol. He doesn’t sleep around but like Izuminokami, will offer to walk people home sober or not. Can and will fight a ho to protect people. No one’s stopping his ass. Though he would prefer to talk it out, it don’t mean he won’t hesitate to sucker punch a ho. No homo? What’s that? Mutsunokami is physically affectionate with everyone of any identification.

Yes he volunteers at an animal shelter. Yes he feeds all of the stray animals around his dorm/apartment. Yes he tries to sneak them into his room. No he’s not hiding a puppy under his shirt what are you talking about?

Also the kind of man to fall asleep in class. He plays games yes but most of the time he stays up just to hang out with animals or just stargaze. He really likes the stars. Probably has a hobby in astronomy.

This dude has like idk five majors. He wants to major in languages, history, military history, man there’s so many things that Mucchan wants to do! He may get in a little bit over his head but he just want’s to learn everything! He is just oh so curious about the world!!! He has to see it!

Yes he will be the first student to sign up the minute he’s asked to travel abroad.

He’s also that person who throws a mini party to welcome new students into the dorm! He loves meeting new people and gets them gifts and all! It’s so sweet!!!

I feel like Mutsunokami’s dream job is a travel agent or just backpack around the world? His dream is to travel and see the world after all, but he’ll be just as happy to work in a museum! no im not crying at the thought of a museum date with mucchan i just.....wanna...hold.....hAND

Dude he’s the kind of student who is not really a kiss up to his professors but has a super good relationship with them. He gets into friendly debates with them about the subjects in class and he loves getting new perspective on things!

Is also still very much into photography, hell yeah he’ll be in a photography class. Maybe become a professional photographer in his spare time? As a part time job? Maybe!

Of course he volunteers to hang out with kids. He’s a pretty damn good baby sitter, that’s also a part time job. He’ll happily tutor peeps of all ages!

Juzumaru Tsunetsugu

OH this man turns in all of his work like a week early, is the model student, quiet as hell in class but dude he knows his worth. He sits so still and so quiet you almost don’t see him and you kinda think he’s probably dead. BUt then he notices you staring and smiles softly at you and you almost die because sHIT SHIT HE CAUGHT YOU STARING but also he’s so pretty how dare.

Juzu takes really good care of himself. He most likely volunteers at the library and helps old people walk across the street. Goes to sleep on time, wakes up at least three hours before class to prepare breakfast and meditate. Hell he’ll cook for his roommates too. No stopping him from doing that. He can kinda cook? It’s small and simple tho.

While Juzumaru might be a religion major, I think that he will be interested in history and math? If anything he may be a bit like Mucchan. He’ll want to learn everything and anything! Yes he will prefer his religion studies but hey, it doesn’t hurt to learn about everything and anything!

Like the others above, Juzumaru will also offer to walk people home. He doesn’t like fighting all that much so if he’s at a party (which is impossible) and sees someone spike a drink, he’ll be more so being the person who warns the drinker and pretends to be their friend/is their friend to take them out of the situation. This doesn’t mean he won’t defend himself or that person if they get into a scuffle.

No Juzumaru isn’t part of a frat and he mostly keeps to himself. He is probably found hanging with Yamabushi, Kousetsu, or just hiding by his lonesome in the library.

He also helps tutor other students. If anything I just think that he’s the best tutor. He’s so calming and sweet and patient, able to guide the hand of anyone he teaches. His voice is so soothing its some asmr quality shit im sorry i just love his voice and like you can fall asleep to that.

Juzumaru is also a kid who probably wants to go study abroad. For fun and for learning.

Is the mom friend, if you drag him to a party, you better expect him to watch over you and the rest of your friends like a hawk.

His handwriting is so pretty? How the hell he always does his papers by hand is beyond me but he can use computers his handwriting is just...so pretty????

His dream career? Librarian.
