5. Humming Urban Stereo

Después de recorrer medio Japón vamos a esos artistas coreanos que se quedaron en mi mente para siempre porque marcaron mi era de colegio y porque superaron mis expectativas a nivel musical. Humming Urban Stereo es sin duda alguna uno de los actos más originales, frescos, genuinos y auténticos que hay. Es divino ver gente que no se vende a las tendencias y son ellos mismos, eso es lo que más me gusta de HUS, vocalmente buscan el estilo de cantante adecuado para cada canción y tienen un poco convencional repertorio de electro-pop, jazz, bossanova y lounge. Lee Jeereen es un compositor único en su especie, gracias por existir oppar.

4. Dreams Come True

No soy mucho de grupos en el J-Pop y más porque las divas opacan gran mayoría de mi playlist en los últimos años pero DCT han dejado un legado grande en Japón y puedo entender por qué, es cool ver que incluso en una escena mainstream durante sus primeros años Dreams Come True solía ser un grupo cargado de mucha personalidad con canciones de corte rock-pop, baladas preciosas y funk (creo que podría asociarlos un poco con la onda city pop tbh) acompañados de la poderosa voz de Miwa (quién también colaboraba en el grupo escribiendo canciones y componiendo), no todo era perfecto, pero sí eran un grupo muy consistente. Una lástima que el querer hacerse famosos en USA y cambiar su estilo a algo más trendy mató ese algo que los hacía especial para mí, amo algunas de sus canciones post SING OR DIE como Asa Ga Mata Kuru o SNOW DANCE pero después de eso me parece que se volvieron muy mediocres, sobretodo cuando sacaron Monkey Girl Odyssey, ese álbum es espantoso y me hizo perder todas la fé en ellos. Cómo dúo tienen algunos bops pero igual, su calidad desde el 2004 en adelante no es ni de cerca lo que solían ser a finales de los 80s hasta mitad de los 90s.

3. Ayumi Hamasaki

Amen o odien a Ayu, indiscutiblemente es un icon del J-Pop de los 2000s, no es perfecta y tiene unos vocales muy cuestionables pero cuando sus productores y ella se proponen hacer una gran producción lo hacen realmente bien; podría hablar durante horas porque Ayumi no es la cantante perfecta, pero también reconozco que sus virtudes aunque son pocas, son muy buenas, y entre esas está el poder haber sido parte de canciones tan genuinas cargadas de mucho sentimiento además de que es excelente letrista. Lo que sí no me gusta es ese severo estancamiento que ha tenido en la música rock pop que ya a estas alturas suena algo pasado de moda y trillado pero me imagino que para una cantante sobresaturada como lo fue ella, es difícil reinventarse hoy en día. Aun así, su legado es indiscutible y todos las seguiremos recordando como la reina de las divas de su generación.

2. Utada Hikaru

Hikki, nunca pasa moda. Trendy en los 90s, los 2000s, 2010s e incluso actualmente, un icon del J-Pop que no pasa de moda. Automatic es en mi opinión la mejor canción debut que he visto de una diva, aunque el resto del álbum de First Love (y la canción homónima por supuesto) sean aburridos y monótonos hasta morir, lo cierto es que Hikki a menudo se reinventa, inventa, evade los trends y es a su manera una cantante muy auténtica incluso con un toque prefabricado. Al igual que Ayu, no es perfecta y tiene falencias pero al mismo tiempo sigue incursionando en distintos estilos, distintos sonidos y dejando un legado en la historia moderna de la música japonesa.

1. Clazziquai Project

Mis faves en el K-Pop, creo que nunca los voy a superar. Ya no los escucho como antes pero igual les guardo mucho cariño. Clazzi es un genio como productor al traer la electrónica a Corea a eso del 2004, cada uno de sus álbumes tiene un repertorio muy versátil y cabe destacar que al igual que con Humming Urban Stereo aprecio que tengan un estilo muy poco convencional (sin embargo, admito que me gusta más Clazziquai por que tienen un estilo mucho más movido que HUS) con un repertorio lleno de electrónica, pop, shibuya-kei y bossanova. Es del único artista que amo todos sus álbumes porque son sólidos obvio y es probable que el entusiasmo que tuve por ellos no lo vuelva a tener por otro artista en mi vida.

Esto es todo por ahora, dedicaré este blog a criticar, a hacer praising de mis faves obvio, a hacer rants de lo QUE NO ME GUSTA, no publicaré noticias porque me da igual a menos que quiera hablar de algún chisme o una cancelación, haré reviews, tops y todo lo que se me ocurra. Aclaro una vez más que todo lo que se diga aquí es sólo mi opinión y no la verdad absoluta en caso de que cuando haga rants venga alguien a pelear.
