Left Behind
Bo Sinclair x Reader
Word Count: 2439
Warnings: Suicide mentioned when Bo is telling the story about Trudy.
I had to admit that I never actually wanted to be here, on a road trip that is, but somehow I had managed to find myself getting an invite from Carly, who claimed there needed to be more girls. I reluctantly agreed to tag along, and so far I was regretting that poorly made decision.
I was a third wheel as I lagged behind Carly and Wade. I felt as if all I had done so far since we arrived in this town was either roll my eyes or sigh at their constant flirting. If I had of known that this is what my day was going to consist of then I would have said no in a heartbeat.
The small town we had arrived in gave me strange vibes, whether it was because the town was oddly empty even though we could hear chatter, or whether it was because of the two men that we had come across.
Bo, the man that works at the gas station, spent most of the time eyeing me down after the run in at the church, I didn’t know how to feel about it.
“So, Y/n. What did you think about Bo? He seems to have taken quite an interest in you.” Carly teased, nudging my shoulder.
We were in the gas station looking for whatever part that Wade needed.
“Don’t be stupid, he was just being friendly.” I scowled.
“Coming from a guys perspective, he definitely finds you hot.” Wade spoke up.
I sent him a glare. “Just look for that part.”
“He’s got everything, but a 15 inch. I’ll just have to use a 16 inch.” Wade grabbed a hold of the strap that he needed, but we were startled when we heard another voice.
“Are you planning on stealing that?” When I turned around, I was met with Bo leaning against the door frame, still in his suit and tie. I had to admit that the suit did look good on him.
“No, we just didn’t know how much longer you were gonna be, and you know, we didn’t wanna interrupt again.” Wade rushed out. “But I left you some money on the counter, but you don’t even really have the right size. You don’t have any 15 inches.”
“I do at the house.” Bo replied, not looking in the slightest bit like he was convinced by Wade’s constant stuttering, I couldn’t blame him though, Wade made us look more suspicious than we actually were.
“Look, I hope you’re not getting the wrong idea that we’re in here.” Carly attempted to ease the tension.
“Yeah, we already feel bad enough after interrupting the first time, we just didn’t want to do it again.” I smiled politely. In return, Bo sent me one of his own smiles and gestured for us to come out of the shed.
“No worries. That was in the past. We can move on from that.” Bo replied as he held the door open for us.
“You keep fan belts at your house?” Wade asked.
“I get things delivered there when I’m not here. Look, if you want to hold onto the 16, that’s fine by me.” Bo was looking more agitated by the minute.
“No, it’s okay.”
Bo led us outside of the gas station and we began our journey to the house that Bo lived at. My legs were already tired enough as it was from all the walking we had done, and I honestly wasn’t trying to do anymore.
“So, is it too late to sign Carly up for that beauty pageant?” Wade asked with a smirk on his face.
“Now unfortunately it is, well at least for you-” Bo turned and nodded in my direction. “-Because you have won, hands down.” I blushed slightly at his comment but shook it off quickly as I looked away.
“Thank you.” I mumbled. My gaze landed on Carly who was giving me a smug smile to which I rolled my eyes at.
“That house of Wax is pretty cool.” Wade changed the subject. This caught Bo’s attention.
“You went inside?”
“Yeah, it was unlocked.”
“I did try to tell them they shouldn’t, but they both happen to be very stubborn.” I didn’t dare step foot into the House of Wax. Knowing myself I would probably end up ruining the art in there, and I would never forgive myself if I destroyed someone’s art that they, more than likely, spent hours trying to create. I did manage to get quick look inside when Carly and Wade entered, and it truly was amazing.
“Everything seems to be unlocked ‘round here, don’t it? Thank you for having respect.” I was rewarded with another one of his smiles that really did compliment his face, although he did use quite an odd choice of words as it made him seem all the creepier.
I shared a look between the other two, who were also very creeped out.
“I did get a look inside though, when they opened the door that is, and the wax sculptures are amazing.” I complimented. I was a bit bummed out that I couldn’t see the artwork up close to see their full detail, but my conscious got to the best of me and now I was glad that I didn’t go in.
“Yeah, people used to come and see it from miles away. Trudy was the main artist.” I could imagine the amount of people that I wanted to see it, but for some reason there wasn’t any.
“What about Vincent?” Carly questioned. “I saw his name on a lot of the work.”
“One of Trudy’s boys.”
“That family must be very talented. Are any of them still around? I would love to meet them, and maybe they could help me out with some of my own art.” I commented.
“Oh- no. It’s a horrible story. Trudy’s husband, Doctor Sinclair, he was a doctor. He got his licence revoked for doing surgery’s on the side, you know, stuff that most doctors wouldn’t do. So, he moved him and Trudy out here to Ambrose, made a fresh start in medical practise and Trudy found her calm with the whole wax sculpture thing.” Bo explained as we walked past the House of Wax. “It was her dream to do something incredible here. Then she had a couple of kids-”
“What’s so horrible about that?”
“Trudy got a cyst in her brain, she just started rottin’ away.” My eyes widened as Bo continued the story. It was really starting to take a dark turn. “Couldn’t work no more, she went crazy, and it got so bad, that Doctor Sinclair had to strap her up to the bed. The whole town could hear her screaming from the house. And Doctor Sinclair was so depressed that he couldn’t save her he-” Bo creates a gun with his fingers and pretends to shoot himself in the head. “Blew his head right off.”
“That’s horrible.” I mumbled.
By now we were approaching the last house on the road, meaning this was where Bo was staying. The sky was getting darker and darker by the minute, making the situation all the more terrifying.
“Hey, uh, why don’t you three hop in, and I’ll go get that fanbelt for ya’” Bo opened the door to his car and gestured for us to hop in.
“No, we actually have some friends picking us up where the roads washed out.” Carly interrupted.
“I’ll give ya’ a lift there. It’s the least I could do then for making ya’ll wait.” Carly and I both turned to Wade who was nodding his head.
“Could I use the toilet?” I asked Bo as Carly hopped into the car.
“Yeah, of course. You said you need to use the can too, didn’t ya?” Bo faced Wade. He then proceeded to ask Carly the same question before he led us into his house.
The house was nothing less than what I expected, not that I expected much. To no surprise, it was quite messy, but I couldn’t hold that against Bo, as he most likely wasn’t expecting guests.
“So, where ya’ headed too anyway?”
“Uh, where just headed to a football game.” Wade answered.
“Bathrooms just down the hall. Let me get out of this jacket and tie, and I’ll get the fanbelt. I have another bathroom upstairs for ya’ to use.” I followed Bo up the stairs as Wade walked down the hall. I began feeling nervous as now I was left alone. “You interested in football?” Bo cocked his head to the side as he looked at me. I found myself staring a little longer than I should have, which Bo took notice of too, as his lips twitched up into a sly smirk.
“No, not really. Just here for Carly.” Bo nodded his head along with what I was saying before he popped another question, a very unexpected question.
“I take it ya’ single than?”
“What makes you think that?” I stammered.
“Well, considering those two are tied to the hip, that would most likely mean that if ya’ were seeing someone, then they’d be 'ere too.” Bo explained as he shrugged off his jacket. “And if it were me, I wouldn’t let ya’ out of my sight. Especially in a town I’ve never been in.” Bo opened a door that revealed to be the second bathroom he owned. I walked in and closed the door and instantly let out a breath I didn’t realise I was holding.
This man was making me feel all kinds of things, and I wasn’t sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing.
I did my business and exited the bathroom to see Bo waiting outside, this time he was dressed in casual clothing, and no longer rocked a suit and tie. I had to admit that this man could certainly pull off both looks.
“Did you need help getting anything? I don’t mind helping.” I offered.
“That would be nice, thank you.” I followed behind Bo, who led us into the garage that was covered in tools and what I could only assume was car parts.
“Is it always this quiet in town?” I watched as Bo gathered some things and placed them in crate he had. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do, so I waited where he had placed down the crate.
“Depends on the day, I guess. Sometimes it can be noisy, believe or not, and some days it’s dead silent. Today just so happens to be one of those days.” Bo mumbled.
All of a sudden the lights were cut off and everything went pitch black. I immediately put my arms out to reach for something to grab a hold of. “Bo?” I held my hand out in the direction of where Bo was last stood. “Bo? Where are you?” I felt his hand come in contact with my own.
“I’m right here, sweets.” I was thankful the lights were off so Bo couldn’t see the blush spread out across my burning face. “I don’t know what happened.” The sound of metal hitting the ground echoed throughout the garage, and then I heard the sound of the horn from outside.
“They must be waiting for us.” I muttered to no one in particular. The lights then turned on and I found myself extremely close to Bo as his chest was almost plastered to my back. “Sorry about that. That was childish.” I apologised I pulled myself away from Bo.
“Nothing to be sorry for. Ya’ get a little scared of the dark, nothing to be ashamed of.” Bo picked up the crate of tools. “I’m going to take this stuff out to the truck. Would you mind finding the wrench for me? It should be in one of the drawers over there.” Bo nodded his head in the direction of where the cupboard filled with drawers were before he exited the garage.
Everything felt scarier now that I was alone and everything around me was silent. I could hear my own breathing with how silent it was, and I hated it.
I searched through the different drawers before I found the wrench that I was looking for.
I began hearing shouting from outside and I quickly made my way outside, only to find the truck driving away and Bo standing outside, the tools scattered across the ground. “Bo, what happened?” I slowly approached Bo who was seething with anger, that was until he turned around to me. His face relaxed as he locked eyes with my own.
“Your little friends just decided to drive off with my truck. I guess they forgot that there was a third one with them.” My mood dulled at his words. How could they just leave me like that? “Hey, don’t let them get ya’ down. You don’t need 'em. Especially after the way they’ve acted today.” That didn’t change the fact that someone that I considered to be my best friend, had just left me behind to run off with her boyfriend, did I ever really mean anything to her. “Listen, I have another truck at the station, if ya’ like, we could walk down tomorrow morning and I could drive ya’ where you need to go.”
“That’d be great. Thanks.” Bo walked back inside, forgetting about the tools that were lying all around.
“You can sleep on the couch for tonight. I’ll get ya’ some blankets to keep ya’ warm. Did ya’ want something to eat?” Bo yelled out as he walked up the stairs.
“I’m good.” I called back. I sat down on the couch and stared off into nothing, this day was going horrible. I sighed as I placed my head into my hands and tiredly rubbed my eyes.
“Hey, ya’ know. I’d love to see ya’ some more. I wasn’t lying when I said ya’ were pretty. Definitely caught my eye.” Bo placed down the blankets on the end of the couch as he sat down beside me.
I found myself blushing for what felt like the millionth time today. “Really? I’d like to see you more too.” I whispered, looking everywhere but the man beside me.
Bo placed his finger on my chin and guided me to look in his direction. “Look at me when ya’ speak. I want to see ya’.”
Before I knew it, we had spent what felt like hours talking on that couch before I eventually got tired and fell asleep, and that was definitely the only good part about my day, getting to talk to Bo.

Apple Pie life with an Angel, a new God and a dog-A Destiel fic
“I love you.” Castiel struggled as Dean began to cry angrily.
“Don’t do this Cas.” Dean whimpered as he ran to Cas. Cas pushed him away.
“Goodbye, Dean.” Cas started as the Empty began to pour in.
“NO!” Dean roared out as he ran to Cas. “Don’t do this, not without me. You changed me just as much as I did you, Cas. I need you. I want nothing more than to be with you. You leave me, I have NOTHING, Cas.” Dean touched his forehead as tears streamed harder down his face. “I love you.” Dean then kissed Cas deeply, Cas struggling to push Dean away, but Dean was too strong as he held onto his trenchcoat, the Empty coating the both of them in its goo as both men were sucked into the Empty together, Dean never letting go. As they disappeared in tar-like ooze, the only sound in the dungeon was Sam calling Dean’s phone.
..............................................................................................................................
Sam found it hard to sleep, as did Jack. The two men found it hard to cope.
“Without Dean and Cas, we’re sunk. Do you know where we can find Amara? We could use her help.” Sam said as he drank a beer.
“We could also use Dad’s help. He was right about Grandpa to begin with.” Jack said.
“That’s true.” Sam replied. Suddenly, Dean’s phone was calling and Lucifer, once again in Cas’s body, appeared.
“So, dear old Daddy’s been screwing with the world?” Lucifer asked.
“Cas?” Sam asked confused.
“Funny, Sammy. You forget you beat me the last time we met when I was possessing your brother’s Angel of the morning?” Lucifer reminded.
“Right, I forgot. Hello, Lucifer. You got any ideas for beating Chuck?” Sam asked.
“Sure. Hey, I was able to save a dog for Deano, heard ol’ Cassie went into the Empty. Or if Dean went in with him, Jack needs a pet.” Lucifer said. “Really is a miracle. Just found him outside a gas station. Keeping him safe from Dad, but I’ll be sure to ask Aunt Amara when I see her IF he finds us and snuffs the pupper out, to let me take away his grace.”
“Why are you helping us?” Sam asked.
“Is that Dad? I wanna talk to him, knowing how to smite Grandpa. Maybe he has an idea.” Jack offered.
“Jack wants to talk.” Sam said.
“Great, I’ll bring the dog.” Lucifer said as he soon flew himself and the dog into the bunker. “A lot gloomier than I last saw it.” Lucifer quipped when he set the dog down.
“Dad, I see you’re in Cas’s form.” Jack noted.
“Yeah, when you die in one form, you tend to come back in that form afterwards. Like Nick before I possessed Vince Vincente and later Castiel. Sorry about your loss, by the way. But I think I have an idea. Our Aunt Amara has a bit of history with the Empty, yeah? They may be able to make a deal with her if I offer myself.” Lucifer said. Jack was surprised.
“Why?” Jack asked.
“Archangels and Nephilim have the power to take God’s place. You can do it, Jack. Because you’re the Nephilim of an Archangel, that’s why Dad fried you the first time.” Lucifer pointed out. “But first, we must consult our aunt.”
..............................................................................................................................
The Entity couldn’t sleep. Maybe it was because once again, Cas couldn’t sleep. Maybe it was because he didn’t have a reason to sleep and he happened to bring it with him. Maybe it was because that stowaway refused to unlatch himself from Cas and the men were stuck between moaning and giggling and yessing. It was very loud, very distracting and it felt like he was in Hell.
“Dean, that tickles.” Cas giggled.
“I can’t help it, you’re so ticklish, it makes me feel alive.” Dean purred as he kissed Cas’s chest. Cas moaned before arching his back as Dean stroked his groin. Dean crawled back up to Cas and they began to undress each other.
“Oh PLEASE stop.” The Entity begged as he pounded into the floor. “You’ve been drowning yourselves in each other’s pleasure and vice versa since you got here. You have GOT to stop sooner or later.” The Entity began to cry and plead.
“I’m not tired or hungry. What about you, Cas?” Dean asked.
“The only thing I’m hungry for is you, Dean.” Cas said as he nipped Dean’s ear.
“OOH, right there baby.” Dean said as he unbuttoned and unzipped Cas, making Cas whimper with extreme heat and began to slowly stroke the older Angel’s dick. Cas’s whimper soon turned into a gasp and a shout. The Entity pounded his head against a wall of the Empty a la Gordon Ramsay after Jason Underwood told him he was gonna try and make the souffles less sticky to the ramekin with butter, sugar and cocoa powder.
..............................................................................................................................
Once they had met with Amara, she heard pounding from the Empty. “The Empty should be sleeping. Funny, who’s keeping them awake?” Amara asked.
“Daddy’s favorite peeon and his Angel.” Lucifer said as he and Jack flew in.
“Dean’s in the Empty?” Amara was stunned. “No Human should ever BE in the Empty. How’s he surviving?” She asked.
“I don’t know, he latched onto Cas when it happened.” Sam said.
“Oh, Jack. I want to give you back your Grace.” Lucifer said as he cut Jack’s Grace out of him and Jack breathed it back in. Jack then closed Lucifer’s neck.
“Dad, you didn’t have to do that.” Jack said.
“You need more power, son. I never regretted bringing you to life. I was a crap father, but you’re an amazing person.” Jack and he hugged one last time as Amara went to the Empty.
..............................................................................................................................
“Oh God, baby. Yes. Yes, YES DEAN YES HARDER MORE! YESDEANYESGODDEANYES!” Cas was howling into darkness as Dean thrusted hard, hitting the Angel’s prostate. The Entity just continued to pound his head against the wall. Suddenly, Amara appeared.
“Are you here to take the sexfiends?” The Entity asked, eyes bloodshot.
“Are you willing to trade?” Amara asked.
“Who would I like?” The Entity asked,
..............................................................................................................................
When Amara came back, Dean and Cas were barely dressed and still attached to each other.
“Dude, seriously?” Sam groaned as he watched his brother exchange spit with Cas.
“Shut up, I don’t complain when you kiss Eileen.” Dean said as he went back to kissing Cas.
“I get that, your fly though, Dean. Your fly is open.” Sam sighed as he covered Jack’s eyes.
“Oh, yeah. Sorry, Amara didn’t have time to let us dress before the deal to take Lucifer in our stead was taken by the Empty.” Cas said as he zipped himself up, Dean following suit.
“Good to have you back, but I never wanna see that much of you again.” Sam said as he patted Dean on the back and then hugged him, then hugged Cas. “Otherwise, welcome home, guys.”
“Great to be back.” Dean said as he kissed Cas deeply.
“Alright, lovebirds.” Amara said lovingly. “Can we go find my brother?”
“Oh sure.” Dean said as he pulled away from Cas and they all headed out to Chuck.
..............................................................................................................................
Amara cuffed Chuck with Enochian handcuffs and Dean kicked him in the nuts. Finally, Jack touched Chuck’s head and all of Chuck’s powers were absorbed into Jack.
“What?” Chuck asked as he gasped. “But how?”
“I got some help from the one son who was right to never listen to you.” Jack said as he finished sucking all of Chuck’s powers and absorbing it into his system.
..............................................................................................................................
After all was said and done, Jack joined with Amara. She’d guide him on how to rebuild Heaven. Before he left though, he gifted Dean and Cas the dog. “Dad wanted you to have him. His name’s Miracle. Dad said it was a miracle Grandpa had missed the sweetcake.” Jack said as he handed Miracle off to the two.
“After years of the ‘No dogs in the Impala’ rule?” Dean asked. “I’m honored to own him.” Dean said. Cas smiled and kissed the dog before kissing Dean softly in turn.
“Where will you go now?” Sam asked.
“I’m thinking a farm somewhere. Or maybe a nice home in a cul de sac. Or even a cabin in the woods?” Dean asked as he looked Cas in the eyes.
“I hear the barn we first met in is being condemned.” Cas said. “We may buy the property and build a nice acreage where I can keep an apiary and Dean can start a garage.” Cas offered. “Maybe I can even grow peanuts and make my own peanut butter.” Just as he said that, Jack gave Cas the gift of Human feelings for food and such, not needing to give him love as Dean had already taught him how to love. Another thing he did before leaving for Heaven was what Amara had done for Dean.
“Sam?” Sam’s eyes widened as he turned and faced the truest love of his life.
“Oh my God, Jess?” Sam gasped.
“Whoa, what year is this? Last thing I knew, I was making cookies when-God, what happened to you?” Jess asked.
“It’s a long story.” Sam said as he hugged her tightly.
I missed you too.” Jess said as she hugged him back. Then, Sam immediately began to kiss her as deeply as Dean was doing Cas when they left the Empty.
“Let’s beat them in our own game by joining in.” Dean said as he pulled Cas in for another kiss.
..............................................................................................................................
The house was amazing. Everything Dean had wanted, a back yard for Miracle and Cas loved the peanut grinder and apiary Dean had set up for him. Especially with the tap so as not to disturb the bees.
“Try my honey roasted peanut butter burgers.” Cas said when Sam and Jess visited them. “Dean makes his own brioche and it’s amazing.”
“He thinks everything I do is amazing. He makes his own jelly though.” Dean said. “I’m telling you, ever since Cas has been able to taste? His pallet makes me purr.” Dean said as he kissed Cas deep, but chaste.
“You make me blush.” Cas said as he touched Dean’s forehead with his own.
“Imagine if that girls’ school managed to find out you’re officially canon.” Sam began to tease. “The musical they’d be making out of that.” Jess punched Sam’s arm.
“Now now, baby. Don’t tease.” Jess said.
“Brothers are supposed to tease each other, Jessie. Don’t worry, it’s a Winchester family tradition.” Sam said.
“Pranks and teasing.” Dean confirmed. “Hot dogs are up.” Dean said as he put them on a plate after cooking them on a grill. Miracle whined as he smelled the hot dogs and Dean threw one to the dog. “There you go, Miracle.” He said.
“Apple pie life really suits you, Dean.” Jess said.
“Thanks, Jess. Congratulations on the baby, by the way. I can’t wait to be an uncle.” Dean said with a smile.
“Thanks, Dean.” Jess said as she hugged him.
Life was sweet. Not just because of the burgers either.
..............................................................................................................................
When Sam and Jess had left, Cas was cleaning up and putting food away. Dean had decided to help after cleaning the grill. However, his help was beyond drying while Cas washed.
“I missed cuddling with you this morning.” Dean said. “I bought you more pectin for your next batch of Blackberry jam you like to make so much.”
“That’s thoughtful of you, Dean.” Cas said as he got lost in washing the dishes. Once they finished washing and drying, Dean pulled him into a dance, putting on a song they first listened to when they officially moved into their new home.
“But I can see how strong a man I’m gonna have to be to do for you what comes so naturally, it’s in the way you move.” Dean softly sang to Cas as he twirled the love of his life around the living room floor. Cas giggled giddily.
“Dean, why so sappy today?” Cas asked when they took a break.
“Cas, to finally let you know after all this time how much you mean to me? I thought I was gonna lose you and with Jack visiting on occasion, I feel we should have a more official title to what we are.” Dean said as he knelt down and pulled out a box. Inside was a honeybee shaped ring with stripes of Citron and Obsidian and Diamond eyes and wings. Cas was in awe at the look of it once Dean opened the box.
“Castiel, I come to you as a man, no more or less, with the hope that I can take your hand in marriage and we can make each other honest men until death parts us.” Dean said as he handed Cas the ring box.
“Oh Dean, it’s beautiful. It had to have cost a forturne.” Cas said.
“Not at all. I know an expert jeweler in town, he was able to get the materials together for the occasion.” Both men began to cry. “Will you marry me, Castiel?” Dean asked.
“Yes.” Cas said as Dean took the ring out of the box and put it on Cas’s hand, then they kissed deeply. They then spent the rest of the night celebrating in a lot of ways. Not only their engagement, but the start of what’s to come in their future.
The End

Memento (one-shot Pandora Hearts fanfic)
Summary: How should one advance onward, when one’s preferred reality was the past?
A/N: So, this is my first Pandora Hearts fanfic posted on tumblr (and it’s my worst one yet 🙂). I tried to convey something sad and something light-hearted at the same time and I don’t know how you guys would take it.
*This fic is also on FF.net and Quotev.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Break?”
Ah. Right.
He was gone.
Forever.
Sharon sighed, it appears she had to do her hair herself today.
A week had passed already. And her habits still refused to be changed. He had always been the first person she’d greet in the morning, and the one she’d count on to arrange everything for her, and the one she’d bid goodnight to right before she slept.
15 years had been such a long time. Sharon couldn’t even begin to imagine what her life would have been like if she hadn’t found him that day.
But she reckoned that forever was a time longer than anything she could conceive of.
It had barely been a week, and she was already missing him so, so much that it felt as if her heart could shatter into a thousand fragments with the slightest touch.
How was she going to live with the knowledge that he was gone forever?
From time to time, the sensation of his head resting on her shoulder still remained. It plagued her to no ends.
His exhausted, raspy voice. His pale complexion. His skin losing its temperature. All of it…
…had felt so surreal.
They all knew Break was going to die one of these days. Besides, he had had just about a million near-death occasions due to his one-man show persona, this really shouldn’t come as a surprise.
But it didn’t feel right at all.
It didn’t feel right talking about him in past tense when she delivered the eulogy, he had always been the liveliest creature in the room.
It didn’t feel right seeing him being placed in a coffin and buried underground, left to rot and perish and decompose, alone.
It didn’t feel right placing little flowers there, those flowers belonged in his once beautiful long, silver hair, not on that dreary, grey tombstone.
It didn’t feel right not being able to watch over him as he rests while calling out his name, pleading him to wake up. That was what always happen when he had used too much of Mad Hatter’s power. It was always terrifying, but at least she’d see his weak breath and his slight movements, at least she’d be by his bedside, clutching his hand, praying.
She had been allowed to hope every time he had collapsed. But she had smelled the sweet aroma of candy when he had breathed his last on her shoulder, and that had crushed every glimmer of it.
Setting down her hairbrush, she felt a churn in her stomach. The truth had been so abrupt, so nonsensical, so uncomfortable, it made her feel sick how her life seemed to be unchanged still.
It was almost repulsive to her. How dare the Earth continue to orbit when he was gone?!
She clutched her head, messing up her hair again. She should not think this way — Break would not want her to think like this.
If Break were here, he’d…
“Sharon-sama?” Reim’s voice came with a few knocks on the door.
“Oh, come in,” she called out, forced to regain her composure.
How rare, Reim was in a casual suit instead of Pandora’s uniform. She tried to remember if today was some special occasion.
Reim saw her assessing his getup, he sighed, “Today is the tea party, Sharon-sama, have you forgotten?”
“Tea party…?” she murmured, and then practically jumped up when the memory hit her, “Oh dear! I did forget! Ahhhhh…! How careless of me! Why did Break not… remind… me……?” She slowed down on the last few words as Reim’s brows furrowed instantly.
“I…” she stuttered, faking an apologetic smile, “Please… pay it no mind, Reim-san. I have yet gotten used to daily life without a valet is all. It’s noth—“
“If you do not wish to go,” Reim said, “if it’s too painful to bear, I shall inform Gilbert-sama of your predicament so that he would not expect you.”
“No. No, I’m fine. Truly.” Honestly, she thought she didn’t really have a reason not to go. Almost everyone who would be there lost someone precious. Leo lost Elliot. The Baskerville lost at least half of their comrades and Fang. Ada lost her family. And even Gilbert, the one who insisted on organising this tea party Oz proposed, lost his master, and a dear friend, and someone who he had almost treated as his own uncle.
Gilbert probably learnt that if sorrow and grief were kept locked away in the darkest depths of a person’s heart, that person would never see the light and might do something foolish they’d end up regretting, mostly because of Vincent’s case. As such, he wanted to do something for everyone, he wanted everyone to get along and try to be happy, even for just a brief hour or so.
Sharon understood Gilbert’s intention, and she did not want his efforts to go to waste.
“I will go.”
Though she doubted his efforts would be of any help to her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Glad you both came, Sharon, Reim,” Gilbert welcomed the two of them as they stepped out of the coach.
“Good morning, Sharon-chan,” Sheryl was already there with Rufus.
“Good morning, grandmother. Good morning to you too, Duke Barma,” Sharon curtsied, and went along to greet other people she knew.
The Baskervilles were surprisingly friendly, it was actually nice to hang out with them and to know that they weren’t sworn enemies anymore. Lottie even complimented her dress, and she complimented her hair in return.
But it was no use. Her mind refused to let go of her precious Xerx-niisan for even a second.
She was constantly picturing him standing right beside her, glancing at the scrumptious-looking desserts in front of her over her shoulder. Or him sitting on a table and laughing at the most ridiculous thing ever. Or him bickering with Vincent with an apparent hint of bloodlust behind those sweet smiles of theirs.
Her surroundings felt eerily empty when he wasn’t in it.
A child’s voice pulled her back from her trance, “Hey, Eques… I mean, Sharon.”
She turned to see Lily tugging at her skirt to get her attention.
“Hello, Lily-san,” she immediately put on a smile, as any proper lady would to appear polite, “You look very cute today.”
“Thanks,” Lily looked at her feet like a child found guilty of shattering her mother’s favourite vase.
“Is something the matter?”
“Well, not exactly~~” Lily drawled, “I just really~~ wanted to apologise for what I said and did back… when the Hatter… died. It must’ve scared you, when you were in that state of mind.”
“I…”
“I’m sorry! Tell me how to make it up to you, I’ll do anything I can~~”
“It’s… it’s all water under the bridge now,” Sharon quickly said, half-genuine, half only wanting to drop the topic, “Besides, you and Bandersnatch protected us afterwards, no? I’d say we are even.”
“Eh?” Lily snapped her head up at once, eyes sparkling with joy, “So you’ll forgive me?”
“Of course.”
“Yay~~! Since you and Reim seem to be really close, I thought we might as well be friends too!” she flashed Sharon an innocent smile.
“Friends… that sounds… very nice,” taken aback by the little girl’s proposition, she stuttered, but at least she was genuine this time, “I would… love to be your friend too.”
“Yay~~~!” Lily jumped to hug her, “Oh, I almost forgot~~” She landed back on her feet and delved into a little pouch she was carrying, “I have to give something to you~~”
“To me?”
“Yup! Lottie found it back then~~” she whipped it out and placed it in Sharon’s hands, “Here!”
Sharon’s eyes shot open, gasping, “E… E… E…mi…ly…” Her hands trembled violently, dropping Emily on the ground, herself dropping to her knees along with the doll, tears spilling out uncontrollably, blended with screams.
Reim and Ada both rushed to her side, worried, trying their best to calm her down.
“Lily, what did you do?” Lottie and Leo interrogated the little girl.
“Eh…? I… I don’t know!” Lily was also freaking out, unable to comprehend Sharon’s extreme response.
“No… I…” Sharon defended her, “It was my… fault… When I… saw… Emily… I just…”
She picked up Emily again, held it close to her chest, and continued crying.
At that, Ada also couldn’t help but start weeping along.
“Ada-sama…” Vincent placed a hand on her shoulder.
“I… I am sorry… My mind… starts thinking… about Onii-chan and Uncle Oscar again…”
“No fair…” Lily pouted, “I wanna cry too…! You’re not… the only ones… who lost people you loved…!”
“Lily…” Lottie embraced the child tenderly.
“Fang~~~~~~~~!” Lily bawled, yanking on Lottie’s arms.
“Sharon-sama…” Reim knelt in front of Sharon, not that he knew what to do, he was about as scared as Break had been when Sharon cried.
“Sharon-chan…” Sheryl clearly yearned to take it upon herself to comfort her granddaughter, but Rufus didn’t move her wheelchair.
“The grief of the bereaved could only be fathomed by those who bear the same heartache, ‘tis best to allow them the liberty to manage the situation by themselves,” he said.
Sheryl was about to retort. In her eyes, the scene was full of depressed and confused children, unable to pull themselves together in the midst of woe.
But those very children proved her wrong.
Gilbert trod to Sharon wordlessly and placed a hand on her head.
“Master Gilbert?” Reim questioned.
Gilbert took Emily and strained his voice to sound like how Emily usually sounded, “ShARon, yOU cRyBABy! KeKEkEkE!”
He continued in his normal voice, “It’s a lame quip, I know. But I had the feeling that Break would’ve tried to cheer you up with some distasteful jokes of his if he were here.”
More tears trickled down Sharon’s cheeks when he said that, but she nodded with certainty.
Gilbert joined his brother and Ada next. “Ada-sama, if Oz were here,” he gave Ada a quick embrace, “he would surely allow you to weep on his chest like this.”
“And if Oscar-sama were here,” Vincent added, stroking Ada’s short hair and wiping her tears away tenderly with his thumb, “he would have done this.”
Gilbert turned his focus to Vincent.
“I’m fine, nii-san, Noise… Echo did well. I’m proud of her.”
“Leo… Master,” Gilbert continued.
“I already know what he’d do, Gilbert,” Leo gave a small smile and glanced at a book he brought, “He would’ve punched me playfully and quoted from Holy Knight volume 11, when Edwin taught the readers how to cope with such grief.”
Gilbert reciprocated the smile and moved on to Lily, the (physically) youngest of them all. Lottie seemed to be at her wits’ end as well, for Lily hadn’t had the chance to go on a rampage like this to mourn for Fang before.
“I… don’t know much about Fang, Lily, I’m sorry. But…” he scooped her up and placed her on his shoulders, “but I know how much you loved the piggyback rides he gave you.”
Lily bawled even louder and bashed him on the head, “Gil, you idiot~~~~! Your piggyback ride is NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS FANG’S!!!!!! I want Fang’s piggyback rides! I WANT FANG TO BE HERE~~~~!!!!”
Lottie couldn’t help but let out a whimper at that too and Doug clasped her shoulder in comfort.
“And I’m sure that,” Gilbert declared to everyone, “if Stupid Rabbit… Alice were here, she would’ve offer to bite everyone’s cheeks.”
Some managed to laugh at that, which proved Gilbert’s attempt fairly successful.
“I cannot speak for everyone,” he returned Lily to her companions and continued to announce, “I understand that everyone deals with grief differently, and that it may be painful for some to remember the past where your loved ones were by your side, only to be pulled back to the present, where they are not. But for me…
“For me, as painful as it is to remember, these wonderful memories also brought me solace. I had cried like you all, I had screamed like you all, but when I cry and scream, they faces would always come to mind. They are not gone, they are and will always be living here in our hearts, forever.” He averted his eyes from everyone, “That is… what I think Oz would’ve said to cheer everyone up.”
“But… But I don’t want Fang to be in my mind~~~!” Lily bursted out, “I want him to be HERE!!!!!”
Surprisingly, it was Sharon who approached the little girl and hugged her tightly.
“Eques…?” Lily sobbed.
“I… understand you, Lily-san…” Sharon spoke with her still trembling voice, “Break… was like a caring elder brother to me too… just like… Fang-san was to you… And I… I do not think I can bear… with the knowledge… that he can only be… in my mind from now on… either…
“But remember… Fang-san must’ve… left the stage… while pursuing the path he had believed in,” she looked Lily in the eye, her cranberry-coloured one’s about as teary as Lily’s light blue ones, “If we… halted in our steps now… they would surely be… disappointed… would they not? For they… had created our paths… one way or another…”
The memory of the blade protruding from Fang’s back instead of her own, the image of his body crumbling to dust, the terror and the fury and the sorrow all recurred to her now. She leant into Sharon’s chest and shrieked madly.
“We must… advance… on their behalf,” Sharon wasn’t very sure whether she was saying this for herself or Lily anymore, “We must… carry their courage… and their will on our shoulders… and move forward…”
If Break were here, he’d surely have implored them to do so. He’d surely have ushered them on the path to that sunlit finale he never managed to reach.
A pair of arms wrapped around the both of them and caressed their heads softly. It was Reim, dutifully holding back his tears even now.
“That’s right,” Gilbert nodded in agreement to Sharon’s words. He spoke with the decorum befitting a proud (adopted) son of the Nightray House, “We stand here today, thanks to our loved ones who had instilled in us the strength to live. Let us commemorate their courage, perseverance and love; and let us remember their fears and mistakes, so that we learn from them.”
Lily looked up at Reim and Sharon, and forced a smile, “Thank… you… I’m happy… to have become friends… with you~~”
Gilbert raised his teacup, “Let us celebrate, today, the wondrous memories they had etched in our hearts, and the lives they had relayed onto us.”
“Happy unbirthday!” everyone cheered, on behalf of those who had cheered alongside them the last time.
And the morning sun shone upon the hopeful paths of those who had overcome the tears and would continue to advance on.

Shandi’s StarTerror Saga!
Not the next part of One Small Life like I planned! ^^;; Here I am back on that crossover pairing shit~ I still regret nothing~
~Shandi
A tragedy forces Ace to leave KISS. Without his lover StarChild has been deep in despondency..until someone unexpected comes back into his life~
MAKE ME FEEL AGAIN
StarChild could never forget how he lost his beloved Space Prince. No matter how hard he tried.
~Earth, 1982~
“We gotta talk, Starshine.” Paul always grew nervous when Ace was serious. He took his lover’s hand as he sat down next to him. “Acey? What’s wrong?” Ace couldn’t bring himself to speak. He just pulled his lover close and started sobbing. “Acey..!” Paul held his crying lover tightly, stroking his hair. “What’s happened, my love? Please tell me..” Ace waited until he had calmed down significantly before he spoke. “I..I just received a message from Jendell.. While my parents were on Planet Laddax..there was a violent earthquake. Laddax has an unstable core. The planet’s inhabitants wanted to relocate to Jendell and Kandarr. They just wanted to help..and now..” Paul’s stomach sank. “Oh no..you don’t mean..”
“..they’re gone..”
“Gods…I’m so sorry, Acey..” he cried along with his lover as they held each other. Guilt began to twist inside of him. Were his powers weakening? Had they been on Earth too long? Why hadn’t he had a premonition about this? He could have done something! Warned them! “What’s..going to happen to Jendell now..?” Ace closed his eyes. “As their oldest..I must return..and take over their duties as King.”
“You..have to leave then..”
“Yeah..”
Paul never thought he’d be forced to experience what Gene felt when he left his husband behind to come to Earth. And now the love of his life was leaving him. He understood why, of course he did. But still.. He already began to feel as if half of his heart was missing. He pulled Ace close, clinging to him and kissing him deeply. “I will miss you so much..my love..my Space Ace..”
“I know, Starshine..I’ll miss you too. Come to Jendell when you return to KISSteria again..and we can get married~”
“Y-you mean it..?”
“Sure do~”
Gods, did he love this man. As they shared another deep loving kiss, Paul could feel Ace’s body vibrate as he built up his power. Lighting struck the ground beside them, opening up a portal. Paul stared one last time into those dark sparkling eyes he adored. “Promise..promise you won’t forget me.”
“Never~”
Reverting back to his SpaceMan form, Ace walked slowly into the portal, and out of Paul’s life. He sank to the ground and wept.
~Earth, November 1983~
KISS of course continued on. As if answering a silent call Vinneketh had appeared for their auditions. Using the human name Vinnie Vincent, he replaced Ace as the band’s lead guitarist. How very nice for Gene. Having his husband and child with him on Earth to do all the wonderful things married couples do. Paul was happy for him, but at the same time incredibly jealous. Ace hadn’t contacted him in months. He knew he shouldn’t be so selfish. Being the King of an entire realm was a taxing job for certain. But he couldn’t shake the feeling of being forgotten. When he’d had enough of Gene and Vinnie’s public displays of affection after their latest concert he turned and left.
Paul knew he had obligations to the band. They were still on their Lick It Up tour in Europe after all. But just for one night he wanted to be as far away from KISS as possible. Using his power, he transported himself back to the U.S. To California. He liked it there in the winter. By sheer chance he happened to find himself in San Diego. People were lined up around the block to get into the Fox Theater for a concert that night. Curious, he went to get a closer look. There was a huge lit up display on the sign above the doorways.
TONIGHT ONLY
     MÖTLEY CRÜE LIVE
            SHOUT AT THE DEVIL TOUR ‘83
That name..it sounded so familiar. Then a sudden realization hit him. “I-it couldn’t be..” He couldn’t see for himself. At least not the normal way. Tickets had sold out months ago. It was too dangerous to use his power with so many witnesses. He’d have to do this the Earthling way. There were back doors into the theater. Probably heavily guarded. He wondered if he should take the risk. Why not? The worst that would happen is he’d be rudely dismissed. So he went for it. Unfortunately once he was through the door he was immediately grabbed by security. “You’re not supposed to be back here, sir.” one of them said with a stern look. The other guard who was significantly younger looked at him with a bit of shock. “Hey! Aren’t you Paul Stanley?” The older guard sighed. “Don’t be stupid, kid. He could just be–”
“No, this is totally him! I’d recognize him anywhere! Love your music, man! KISS rocks!!”
Paul chuckled. “Thank you..always nice to be appreciated by fans~ I can autograph something for you if you like~” The kid’s eyes lit up like stars. “For real?! That would be so cool!!” The older guard just looked on perplexed as he signed the kid’s shirt. “Thanks a lot, Mr. Stanley!! My friends are gonna be so jealous!! Is there something I can do for ya? Anything?” This was most certainly an interesting turn of events~ “Well..I hoped I could wait for the guys backstage. I’d wondered if they’d consider opening for us..or maybe a joint performance~” The older guard shook his head but the kid hastily agreed. “Yeah sure! Anything you want, Mr. Stanley! The Green Room is back this way!” This was definitely going to be a crazy story to tell. Once he was shown the right way to go Paul smiled and patted the young guard on the shoulder. "Thank you very much for your help~ Hope to see you in the crowd when our tour brings us here~" He nodded enthusiastically. "Oh you bet, Mr. Stanley! I'll be in the front row!" Such a sweet kid~ He'd have to remember his face.
While he sat waiting he could hear them playing. It was loud and wild and made his heart race. He hadn't felt that kind of excitement in a long time, not even with his own music. Yes, coming here was the best idea he'd ever had. He noticed band posters scattered across the walls. Looking up at them he smiled. His suspicions had been right. "Who would have thought? Here of all places.. Maybe it's fate~" When the concert was over he could hear his blood racing in his ears. They’d be back here soon. He’d see him. He crossed his hands over his chest as if to keep his heart from bursting out. He wasn’t going to run away. Not this time. The loud and rowdy voices of the band drew closer and closer, making him dig his fingers into the chair he was sitting in to keep from bolting. The first one to enter the room wasn’t who he was expecting. Blond hair. Incredibly good looking. Radiating with a chaotic sexual energy. When their eyes met Paul instantly felt that energy enter him, making him feel warm and feverish. “Well well..what do we have here~?” the blond smirked and sauntered closer. “Didn’t think there’d be anybody here waitin’. You lookin’ for me, pretty baby~? You wanna have some fun~?” Something inside of him wanted so badly to say yes, and he couldn’t figure out why. He could feel a flush cover his cheeks. A pleasant heat began to grow slowly between his legs. He parted his lips, his breaths coming out in soft gasps. “I...” What was happening? The blond reached out to stroke his lips. “Why don’t we get outta here..and I’ll show ya a damn good time~”
“Vince.”
A voice. A familiar voice. Vince huffed and turned around. With no eye contact the trance was easily broken. “D’you mind? I’m tryin’ to seal a deal here.” Paul quickly got up from the chair to try to compose himself but ended up tripping over his own feet instead. ‘Way to go, StarChild..’ he said to himself as he braced for a hard fall to the floor. Which never came. Because someone caught him. “Hey, careful there.” his rescuer said. “We don’t need somebody--wait. I don’t fuckin’ believe it. Is that you..Princess..?” Paul looked up and smiled. Gods, did he miss looking into those gorgeous eyes.
“Hello, Nikki~”
To be Continued!!
