More SFW fics here
Tumblr media
“Hurry up now,” your mother said brightly as she ladled a bit of porridge into a bowl for you to eat. “Master Dervin will be cross if you're late with his breakfast.”
Though the two of you were mere servants in the Naga Lord’s home, she always fed you first before you had to do your duties for the morning.
She glanced up as you scarfed down your breakfast, her eyes warming as they met your father’s.
“Good morning, my favorite ladies,” he said, kissing her and ruffling your hair.
“Papa! I have to work!” You pouted, but he just snickered, stealing your spoon and taking a bite of your porridge.
“Don't bother making yourself neat for that snake bastard,” he chuckled as his hands slid around your mother’s waist.
“Charles, please. Someone might hear, and we'll be out on the street!”
He shrugged. As you finished your meal, your mother arranged the morning dishes for the Naga family on a silver cart, taking a moment to smooth and repin your hair before you were to serve them.
Your father was sure to spit in Dervin’s bowl when your mother looked away, making your eyebrows jump. He put a finger over his lips, winking at you.
“I'm off to the stable,” he said, grabbing an apple as he went. “Have a nice day, my pretty girls!”
You blinked at the contaminated bowl, wondering if you should throw it out.
“What are you staring at?” Your mother chided, pushing the cart towards the door. “Get along; I can hear them coming down the stairs.”
You hurriedly fixed a pleasant but distant look on your lips as you wheeled the cart into the dining room.
“Good morning, Mr. Leander,” you said to Dervin's only son, as he was the first to enter the dining room.”
“You’re radiant this morning as always (Y/N),” he beamed, taking his spot at the table. “but stop calling me ‘mister’ you never used to.”
Your ears heated as you placed his breakfast in front of him.
“It's not appropriate, sir. We were children then. You're to be the master of the house and will be married soon. I'm sure your fiancee wouldn’t appreciate-”
He cut off your words with a sharp hand.
“Don't speak of unpleasant things,” he grumbled.
“Apologies, sir.”
“Stop calling me-”
The arrival of his mother cut off his own words. She was a lovely Naga, sharing Leander’s white hair and sapphire blue eyes. Like his, her tail was a shocking electric blue.
“Stop prattling with that servant, Leander,” she snapped. “She has work to do. You're bothering her.”
Mrs. Elanore was not a pleasant woman, but she didn't like you servants to be harassed by the males of the house. Whether it was actual concern or jealousy, you didn't know, but your mother, especially, appreciated it.
Dervin, her husband, took every opportunity to corner her, trying to ply her with gifts and sweet words. Your mother was having none of it, which is why you delivered their meals, not her, and why your father spit in his food.
You nodded, thanking Elanore as you served her the tea she liked.
“Where is that imbecile?” she muttered, referring to her husband. “There are so few things I ask of him, but he can't manage the simplest tasks. He is to arrive on time for every meal. There must be some decorum in this household!
Her sharp blue eyes flicked to you.
“Go get him (Y/N).”
Leander slid in front of you like a vibrant  blue flash before you could even respond.
“I'll go, mother. (Y/N) has her work, as you said.”
She gave him a tight nod, and you took the opportunity to finish setting the table for their return.
“I should fire your family,” Elanore mused. “your father would be happier, don't you think?”
You glanced up for a moment to find her eyes traveling over your form.
“You and your mother are too pretty to be maids,” she snorted. “You'll only cause trouble wherever you go.”
“Our family has served yours for generations,” you muttered, scared she might put you all on the street. “My grandparents died here, and so did theirs.”
“Just like a human,” she hissed, baring her teeth. “Servile and obedient. You’d think you’d have found something else to do in all those years.”
“Apologies, ma’am,” you said, looking at your shoes.
She waved a dismissive hand at you, sipping her tea.
“It’s in your nature. There’s nothing to be done. You and your mother are good at your jobs at least.”
Your cheeks warmed at the backhanded compliment. It was different when Dervin or Leander complimented you. She acknowledged the skill that had been passed through generations, not how you looked. You and your mother knew how to run a house. Your masters needed structure to maintain their dignity. With little to do, they would become depressed slobs if you didn’t keep everything running efficiently.  At least, that’s what your grandmother told you.
Slithering through the wide doorway, Dervin and Leander settled into their spots at the table, and you took your place in the corner, waiting in case one of them needed something. The two male Nagas looked very similar in their features, handsome with a strong jaw and wide shoulders, but Dervin’s hair was jet black, as were his eyes. They always appeared blank and cold, which frightened you. Elanore wasn’t warm, but her gaze reflected an expressive nature, not a monstrous stillness.
Your eyes watched him take a bite of his breakfast, trying to hide the disgust that roiled in your stomach.
“Where’s your mother?” he snapped after a few big bites.
You didn’t speak at first, your eyes drifting to Elanore for permission. She answered for you.
“She’s in the kitchen where she ought to be. The servants are my business as the Lady of the house. Don’t bother yourself with their whereabouts.”
“I pay them,” he barked, but she ignored him, turning her attention to Leander.
“You’re to visit Iris today, Leander. I’ve purchased a gift for you to bring your fiancee.”
She snapped her fingers at you, and you hurried to her side to take the small package and walk it around the table to her son.
“I don’t wish to bring her any gifts,” he snorted, not even taking the gift from your hand. “She’s not my fiancee.”
Elanore rubbed her temples.
“The two of you are infuriating, you know that? You have one job, Leander. You have to marry well and produce an heir.”
She waved a finger at you.
“You can keep your little maid as a comfort doll if you like, but you will do as I have arranged.”
“I’m a grown man, mother. I don’t have to do anything.”
Electricity crackled between their eyes as they engaged in a silent power struggle. You stood awkwardly to the side, still holding the gift.
“I’m sick of this! I do my very best to advise you two idiots on the proper way to conduct yourselves, and you act like spoiled children!”
Her tail snapped faster than you could see and struck Leander across the cheek with a crack. Blood dribbled down his pale skin, and his eyes hung on her, the warm blue turning to ice.
“I should have never married a common husband like you,” she snarled, turning her ire toward Dervin. Vulgarity and Mediocrity are in your blood, and you’ve infected your son!”
Dervin’s black eyes flashed.
“My mediocre blood saved your foolish noble family from destitution. Thanks to my benevolence, you are able to live in the house your family has owned for generations. If not for me, you’d be begging on the streets, pleading with your relatives to take you in as a servant.”
“Fools,” she snarled, picking up her tea and slithering out of the room.
“Bring your mother to me,” Dervin demanded when she was out of earshot.
You let out a trembling breath as you thought up a lie.
“She went into town this morning for groceries, sir,” you said, knowing he’d never lower himself to search for her in the kitchen.
You screamed as the bowl he was eating from sailed across the room, shattering beside your head.
“Father!” Leander shouted.
Dervin gave him an amused but cool smirk before turning his attention to you.
“Send her to my room when she returns,” he barked and stormed out.
You leaned against the wall, panting as you mentally checked yourself for harm. Leander’s warm hands cupped your cheeks, looking you over.
“Did he hurt you?” he asked.
Your gazes met, but words wouldn’t come, so you shook your head.
“Don’t be afraid,” he said, his warm arms wrapping around you and pressing you to his chest.
You inhaled the spicy scent of the soap he used mixed with his own natural fragrance.
“I won’t let any harm come to you.”
When he pulled away, you found yourself looking at your feet, trying to avoid his gaze.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I dropped the gift,” you muttered, picking up the broken box.
You plucked the pretty hairpin from the shards of ceramic, seeing it was still whole.
“I’ll find a new box,” you said, trying to slide around him.
He stopped you with a hand on your shoulder, curling the other around your fingers.
“Keep it,” he said. “I’m not marrying Iris. My mother has no say in the matter, despite how she likes to posture.”
Your gaze shifted to the red slash bisecting his cheek.
“Let’s get this cleaned for you, sir. It will be a problem if it gets infected.”
He frowned but followed you to the kitchen.
“Is everything alright?” your mother asked as you pulled the first aid kit off a shelf.
“Good morning, zhingha,” Leander said, greeting your mother with a kiss on the cheek.
The word meant “mother” in the Naga’s old language. He had never considered his biological mother his; when he was a boy, he got quite attached to yours. He spent most of his time in the kitchen with you, playing and avoiding Elanore’s tantrums when you were children. The two of you had made the pantry your fort, and you’d put on little shadow plays while you lay on the floor together.
Your mother’s eyes focused on his wound, and she clucked.
“Poor thing, come bend down where I can reach you. You’ve grown into such a tall man,” she said, taking the kit from you and pulling out the correct supplies.
You hopped on the counter, swinging your feet as you watched her disinfect and bandage the cut.
“What mother in their right mind would do such a thing to their son,” she muttered as she worked.
She already knew who’d done it because she treated Leander’s wounds often. When she was done, she patted him on the head like when he was a little boy.
“That’s better.”
“We should go into town today,” he said. “My father is looking for you.”
She frowned, a flash of fear streaking across her face.
“Don’t worry. I’m supposed to be visiting Iris. We can take the carriage, and you can visit with your friends instead. Go have Charles ready it.”
She nodded, giving him a wan smile before she hurried to find your father. You hopped off the counter and headed to do your chores while your mother was safely out of the house.
Before you could make it out the door, Leander’s thick, electric blue tail coiled around you.
“Ah, ah, you’re coming too, saiya,” he cooed, dragging you into his arms.
Your heart thumped at the silly nickname he’d given you as a child. The word meant “little bear. " When he was young, he was fascinated with your round ears compared to his, which pointed at the end. As they had so often back then, his finger traced the arch of one as he hummed his pleasure.
“Sir, you shouldn’t,” you whispered, but Leander was too pleased with you in his arms.
He dipped his head, nibbling at your ear.
“I should eat you up, sweet little thing,” he whispered, making your body explode in butterflies.
He carried you out the back door to the stable, where your father was busy arranging the horses to pull the carriage. When he saw you tucked behind Leander’s large biceps, he frowned.
“Put my daughter down. She’s not your doll,” he said, his tone more curt than he probably should have been with a family member of the house he served.
Out of only politeness, you were sure, he set you down. Your mother let out a light, silvery giggle, patting your father on the shoulder.
“Oh, don’t be so strict, Charles,” she said. “He doesn’t mean any harm by it.”
As Leander tugged you by the hand into the carriage, you heard your Dad lower his voice, so he thought the Naga couldn’t hear.
“I don’t like those snakes touching her. They are far too familiar. Miss Elanore’s grandfather would never have allowed him to fondle her the way he does. Things were the way they should be when he was around.”
Beside you, Leander snorted, rolling his eyes.
“He also drove the family to bankruptcy,” he muttered under his breath.
“Listen,” your father went on as he helped your mother onto the seat next to him, and still unaware you could hear him quite clearly. “I’ve been talking with the Willards about (Y/N).”
“The Willards?” she asked. “The tailors?”
“Yes, they have a boy about (Y/N)’s age. Apparently, he has taken an interest in her, and his father approves. He thinks a girl raised as a maid will make a dutiful wife. I think we ought to consider it. We can visit while we’re in town today.”
You remembered the Willard's son Joshua from when you were sent on errands to pick up clothes for Elanore. He was a handsome young man, though a little on the skinny side. He seemed nice enough. Still, your cheeks burned, and you folded your hands tightly, hearing your parents plot your marriage.
“I don’t know, dear,” your mother hummed. “Do you really think it’s a good idea?”
He let out a grunt.
“I’d do just about anything to get our girl away from that snake. He’s only going to ruin her, string her along, and throw her away when he’s bored. They’re all the same. The Willard’s can give her a good life.”
You felt Leander stiffen beside you. As the carriage took off, his tail wrapped around you so tight you whimpered. He glanced down, his face darkening to a cool blue.
“I’m so sorry,” he muttered, loosening his muscles but not letting you go.
He gently unwrapped the hairpin, clutched in your palm, and busied himself fastening it to your hair.
“So pretty,” he murmured, greedy eyes eating you up. “I won’t let anyone else touch you (Y/N).”
You weren’t sure if that was supposed to be comforting. You’d always liked Leander. He was very handsome, and as children, you’d been inseparable. However, you also realized the massive gap between your two worlds. You were just a maid, and he was the only son of a wealthy lord. It wasn’t meant to be. Your father had explained to you many times before that Leander only doted on you because he was immature and unwilling to grow up. He thought he could still play make-believe with your life, and he warned you to be wary of him.
Feeling raw and confused, you tried to keep your eyes out the window, focused on the passing countryside as you made your way toward town. When your father stopped to park the carriage, he nodded to your mother as you climbed out.
She held out a hand to you.
“Darling, I need you to come with me. We’re going to stop at the tailor’s,” she said, carefully avoiding Leander’s gaze.
He, however, would not be tricked.
“How convenient. I need to stop there as well,” he said with a grin, tugging you back towards him with his tail. “(Y/N), keep me company as we walk so I don’t get bored.”
Your father gave him a deep grimace but was silent as he finished tying up the horses and escorted your mother by the arm down the busy avenue, walking a few steps ahead of you. You watched the two of them whisper to one another as you made your way to the Willard’s shop.
“Greetings!” Marshall Willard said with a grin when he saw you and your parents enter the shop.
His eyes jumped to the large Naga next you, and he winced just slightly before calling his son.
“Joshua! Come greet our guests. I’ll help the customer.”
Joshua appeared from the back, giving you a pleasant smile.
“Mr. and Mrs. (Y/LN). It’s wonderful to see you,” he said politely. “Can I offer you some tea?”
Meanwhile, his father greeted Leander.
“Young Lord Szake! What can I help you with this morning?”
You moved to follow your parents to the kitchen with Joshua, but Leander pulled you back by the shoulders.
“I’m here to buy (Y/N) some dresses,” he said, pushing you gently in front of him.
Everyone in the room looked at you, and your cheeks burned.
“What? Why, my lord?” you stammered.
He tipped his head at you.
“If you’re to be my personal attendant, you can’t follow me around in threadbare wool dresses. You ought to represent the Szake family well.”
“Personal attendant?” you parroted, confused. “But I’m just a maid.”
“Not anymore,” he declared. “Every Lord has a personal attendant to handle the paperwork and their calendar…those sorts of things.”
“But isn’t that normally a man?” Mr. Willard asked.
Leander beamed at him, a cold smile full of hate.
“(Y/N) has known me since I was just a child. She knows everything about me. I wouldn’t dare trust anyone else with my personal affairs.”
Your father frowned.
“Nonsense,” he barked. “(Y/N) is going to be married and have a domestic life, as she should. You’re a wealthy Lord; I’m sure you can find a qualified candidate.”
Joshua nodded beside him. You looked up at Leander, eyes large.
“I can’t be your personal attendant, sir,” you added. “It’s not proper. What will people think?”
He smirked at you, his long, strong fingers pinching your chin so you had to look at him.
“Fine…If your father insists you have a domestic life, you shall.”
Your shoulders wilted with relief, and you let out a breath.
“Oh, thank goo-”
“As my wife.”
Everyone in the room’s eyes were as wide as saucers.
“What?!” they all said at once.
Leander gave Mr. Willard another bitterly cold grin.
“Measure her for dresses fitting the station of a Lord’s fiancee.”
“Absolutely not!” your father said.
“Lord Szake will never allow of this!” Mr. Willard pointed out.
“She’s to be my fiancee!” Joshua hissed, taking an incensed step towards Leander. “My father has already approved it!”
Leander’s gaze shot to him, danger reflected in his irises.
“There are not words on this plane to describe how little I care about whatever arrangement your families have worked out. (Y/N) will marry me, and you will dress her properly.”
He sank into his coils, pushing you in front of Mr. Willard, snapping his fingers.
“Now.”
You saw the man’s jaw tick, but refusing Leander’s request would only be bad for his business, so he pulled out his measuring tape and approached you. Not sure what was happening, you gave him a pleading look, begging him to say something. Reading your confusion and fear, his stare shifted to one more gentle.
“Lift your arms, please, miss,” he said quietly.
The room was dead silent while he did as he was told. Joshua and your father glared at Leander, who seemed entirely unbothered, while your mother appeared uncertain. You watched her suck in a deep breath, straightening her shoulders before she approached the Naga, speaking in hushed tones.
“Sir, are you sure this is wise? I’m not opposed to this match. I-I know…I can see you love her…I’m only worried for (Y/N)’s safety. Such arrangements between classes rarely work out well. Your fellow nobles will never accept her. Would you subject her to their cruelty?”
For a moment, he seemed to be considering her words, eyes sliding to you.
“My family has never been accepted into our peers good graces. You know my father was a common merchant. My mother married him out of desperation. She traded her noble title for his fortune. People’s opinions are only that. Opinions. (Y/N) and I will face the same prejudices together. Do you wish your daughter to continue her life as a maid or-?”
He gave Joshua a dirty look.
“Or become a servant to a husband who can never love her as I can?”
Your mother sighed. She lifted her hand and smoothed a bit of hair that had come out of place as if he were her own son.
“Please…for me, be serious about this if it is what you intend to do.”
He tipped his cheek into her palm.
“I will never betray your daughter zhingha.”
Your father let out a strangled noise, marching out the front door, slamming it behind him.
Joshua, who had been pacing in place, stomped over to you, grabbing you by the arm to face him.
“Is this what you really want (Y/N)? A snake for a husband?”
Before you could answer, Leander’s tail shot out, jerking him away from you and tossing him into the wall.
“Don’t touch her!”
The young man climbed to his feet, clutching his ribs.
“You nobles can’t just take whatever you like! (Y/N) belongs with us!”
Leander slid across the room like an elegant blue river, lifting Joshua up by his throat.
“Do not address my fiancee by her first name again. If I see your eyes on her, I will gouge them out!”
Joshua’s furious face told you he didn’t plan to back down. His father dropped the measuring tape, hurrying to rescue his son.
“Of course, he wont’ My Lord,” he said. “You’ve made your intentions quite clear. Yes, Joshua?”
He gave Leander another long look before he gave in.
“As you say, My Lord.”
Leander dropped him, returning to his seat near you, and jerked his head at the tailor.
“Continue,” he snarled.
“Go to the back and help your mother,” Mr. Willard said to his son.
Joshua gave you a last lingering glance before he disappeared.
You arrived back at the mansion in a very different dress than when you'd left. Leander had insisted on buying you and your mother matching readymade dresses from the shop window while you waited for the fourteen others he ordered to be made. The soft peach satin fabric was the nicest thing you’d ever worn.
The first thing you heard as you walked in the black door was the smashing of ceramic.
“Stay here,” Leander said.
Your eyes quickly flicked to your mother, who grabbed your hand and pulled you into the pantry, peeking out through a crack in the door.
“Father?” Leander called, opening the door to the dining room.
He ducked as a vase flew past, smashing to pieces on the stove.
“That bitch!” You heard him screaming.
He shoved past his son, dark eyes jerking around the room.
“Father! Calm down! What's happened?”
“Where is the human woman?” he snarled.
You and your mother slipped back into the shadows, trying to be as silent as mice.
“Father! She’s not back from shopping yet. Please, tell me what’s happened.”
His eyes narrowed, but seemed satisfied with his answer.
“It’s your mother,” he snarled. “She’s gone.”
“Gone?”
He bared his fangs at his son.
“Don’t parrot me like a dumb animal. The damn woman left! She stole the gold in the safe and disappeared! No one’s seen her!”
He paced on his thick tail.
“She must have paid off the townsfolk. No one will tell me where she’s gone!”
“Has she made off with our fortune?”
His father glanced up at him.
“Of course not; I keep the majority of our money in the bank. Only you and I can access it. I planned for this possibility but never expected her to do it! She only got off with our emergency fund…but it was enough to live well for a long time. When will the human woman return?”
“I don’t know, father,” he said. “But whatever you need, I can help you with it.”
He waved a clawed hand.
“I don’t need anything done! I’m going to marry the woman. I should never have agreed to marry Elanore. I won’t make that mistake again. An obedient human wife will suit me better.”
Leander let out a cold chuff.
“She’s already married, father!”
“Easily fixed,” he hissed with murder in his eyes.
“You can’t be serious!”
He tried to push past his son toward the door leading out to the stable. Leander blocked his way, his icy irises determined.
“I can’t let you do that, Father,” he said, his tone low and even.
Your father came marching through the door a moment later, unaware of the drama playing out. He froze where he stood, eyes immediately focused on the two Naga, staring one another down.
The opportunity in front of him was too tempting for Dervin to resist, and his tail shot out, a victorious smile on his lips. You couldn’t stay the scream that erupted from your throat, your mother rushing past you to protect her husband.
Dervin’s focus shifted to her, and Leander lunged at the same second. Caught off guard, he threw his father to the floor, and they quickly became a writhing ball of tails and arms.
“You’d betray me too, son?” he gasped as he tried to overpower Leander.
You smelled the coppery stench of blood as sharp nails scraped each other's skin. More than willing to help, your father picked up a heavy cast iron skillet, making his way around the hissing Naga, quiet on his feet.
There was a resounding crunch as the skillet descended on Dervin’s head. He flopped to the floor, limp. Blood leaked in a pool around him, but he still dragged in a wet breath. Before anyone else could move, Leander snatched a kitchen knife from the rack, jamming it through his chest. Dervin let out his gurgling last breath and then was still.
You and your mother clutched one another, sinking to the floor. Neither of you knew what to say or do, but your father and Leander didn’t need any prompting.
“Help me with him,” your father said, slipping his arms under the dead Naga’s. “We’ll bury him under the pig pens.”
Leander grunted his assent, lifting the majority of the weight as they maneuvered the body outside.
“Come,” your mother whispered, trembling. “The blood.”
You nodded, filling the mop bucket with water before pulling every towel from the cabinet to mop up the mess.
“What now?” you found yourself whispering, though there was no reason to.
She shrugged.
“That’s for Leander to decide. He’s the Lord of this house.”
By the time they returned, you’d scrubbed everything to a sparkle, the only blood left staining your new dresses and the towels.
“Take those off,” your father said. “We’ll burn the linens.”
The two of you nodded, slipping the heavy dresses over your shoulders until you only wore the thick shifts underneath. Leander helped you out of your shoes and slipped the red-splattered stockings off your feet.
Your father gave you and Leander a long look before he spoke.
“Take your fiancee to bed,” he said. “She shouldn’t have seen all this. I trust it won’t happen again.”
Leander returned a tight nod, and something passed between their gazes. They’d forged a silent agreement.
It wasn’t until your mother and father left out the back door to burn the rest of the evidence that the tears came. It was a relief Dervin was gone. He would have killed your father and hurt your mother, but it was still horrific.
“Shhh,” Leander hummed, scooping you up in his arms.
He carried you upstairs to his bedroom, curling into a tight ring to settle you in the center. His arms wrapped around you, and he pressed your head into his chest.
“Everything is going to be okay now,” he said softly, carding the strands of your hair with his long fingers.
“Lei, are we all going to jail?” you sniffled, his childhood nickname falling past your lips all on its own.
He chuckled, his eyes sparkling when they met yours.
“No. My mother did us a favor. If anyone asks, they’re touring the countryside until they're entirely forgotten.”
“What happens now?” you asked.
He tipped your chin with his thumb, dipping his head to slip his lips against yours. They were so warm that you felt your jaw's tension melt away. His eyes searched yours when they parted, carrying a lightness you hadn’t seen in many years.
“I’m going to marry you, and your parents will move out of the servant’s quarters. Your father and mother have earned their place in the Szake family. We’ll find some new staff.”
You nodded, his hair forming a smooth curtain blocking the world.
“Sleep now,” he hummed. “All is as it should be.”
Despite how you wanted to keep your eyes open, they slid shut against your will.
“Would you like lavender or rose tea, Miss (Y/N)?” your new maid asked as she opened the tea box in front of you.
“Rose,” you said, turning your attention back to the catalog in front of you.
You sat comfortably in the rose garden, enjoying the sunshine as you planned your wedding. It had been a month since the terrible night that Dervin died. When Leander had informed the merchants of the town that he was getting married, they’d sent piles of samples and booklets for you to look through. You’d never realized there were so many options! It was a little overwhelming. Since you’d come from humble beginnings, it felt strange spending so much money on decorations and lace, but Leander informed you it should be a grand occasion and not to spare a cent.
“Um…Miss (Y/N)?” one of your maids said, looking slightly frightened.
“What’s wrong, Lily?” you asked, concerned.
“Well…there’s a Miss Iris at the door looking for you. Should I bring her?”
Leander was out for the day, meeting with one of his importers, so you weren’t sure what she could want.
“Of course, bring her here.”
A minute later, an elegant Naga came slithering into the garden. Her curly violet hair was pinned in a pretty updo and she wore an elaborate pink dress, covered in ribbons.
“Hello, Miss Iris,” you said, waving for her to take a place at the table. “Can I offer you some tea?”
Her brow was drawn, and she looked you up and down.
“So…you’re who he picked,” she pouted. “Over me.”
Your ears burned, realizing you were speaking to Leander’s former fiancee.
“There’s no competition,” you said.
She snorted.
“Obviously not.”
She narrowed her eyes at you, and you expected a verbal lashing. You were a mere maid, after all. It was absurd Leander would take you as his fiancee. She sucked in a deep breath, and her expression suddenly softened.
“How…How did you do it?”
Your eyebrows jumped, confused.
“Do what?”
She looked around, uncomfortable.
“Can I tell you a secret?”
You took a breath as your maid politely poured her a cup of tea.
“I suppose so…If you’d like.”
“I’m relieved.”
“Relieved…why?”
She sipped her tea, thinking before she spoke.
“Because I don’t particularly care for Leander. In fact, I don’t like him at all. He’s…very…intense. He kind of creeps me out. He only spoke of you when we were out on dates; it was incredibly boring and awkward. Not to mention…the way he talked about you…He was fixated on all of your little ticks. Did you know he carries a lock of your hair around with him? And sometimes your stockings! He showed up one day elated because you’d accidentally sneezed on him and used his handkerchief to wipe your nose! He was cuddling it like a treasure!”
Your ears heated. Where had he gotten a lock of your hair? You’d never given it to him.
“He what?”
Iris waved her previous statement away.
“Anyway, I wouldn’t have liked him even if he hadn’t. He’s just…too much like a Naga male. Once they have something in their mind, they get…obsessed.
Our parents arranged our marriage. I hate that tradition. I’d never force my child into a marriage without love. That’s how you get murdered by some enterprising mistress!”
You blinked, unsure if you should be offended or not, but she went on.
“Honestly, there’s…someone else who has my interest. Only…he’s not a noble Naga.”
“Oh! That is a puzzle, isn’t it?”
She nodded, stretching her hand across the table to touch yours.
“That’s why I need to know how you did it! How did you win over Leander’s parents? Maybe if I can tell Joshua how to do it, I can…I don’t know…”
You giggled.
“Joshua…Willard?”
Her violet irises flared.
“You know him?”
“Ah…yes…but not well. He seems like a very nice man.”
Her eyes glazed over, wistful thoughts playing in her mind.
“He’s so kind and considerate. I’ve never met anyone like him, so gentle. A few weeks ago, I went to pick up a dress, and he helped me. His hands were so soft, and his voice was so sweet. Every night since then, we’ve been meeting in secret! I know he’s the right one and he thinks so too!
I don’t want to brute of a husband. I want a kind person who I can talk to. That’s why I have to know how to convince my parents not to marry me off to some…stranger!”
You weren’t sure how to answer.
“I think…You should do whatever you must to protect your beloved,” you said. “I can’t tell you exactly what to do because it will be different for you. We’re all different in different circumstances.
She looked a little disappointed.
“What I do know, though, Iris, is that if you love one another, you will find a way You two are adults, not children. No one can make you marry someone you don’t want to. It’s only a matter of how far you are willing to go, what sacrifices you will make to have the life you want.”
She nodded, thinking.
“But…” you started, pausing to sip your tea, “What if your parents went on a little vacation?”
“A vacation?”
You shrugged.
“Once you’re married, you’re married,” you said. “Maybe by the time they return…if they return… you’ve sorted your affairs.”
The two of you shared a knowing look, and she brightened.
“I like you (Y/N), you’re very clever! You’ve given me hope! Is there anything I can help you with in return? I want us to be friends!”
You smiled, picking up one of the catalogs.
“Yes, actually. I have no idea what is proper for a lady. Can you help me? We can plan our weddings together.”
She beamed at you, taking the catalog.
“Of course!”
A few hours later, Leander came slithering through the garden.
“Iris? What are you doing here?” he asked, his shoulders stiffening. “I thought I made it clear…”
Iris snorted and waved him away.
“I’m not here for you,” she said, raising her nose at him. “(Y/N) and I are planning our weddings.”
“Your wedding?” he asked, and she grinned.
“Yes! And now that you’re here,” she wrinkled her nose at him. “I think I’ll be off.”
She leaned down and kissed your cheek.
“Thank you for your advice (Y/N). I’m going to talk to Joshua,” she said before sliding past Leander without saying goodbye.
“What was that all about?” Leander asked when she was gone.
You shrugged.
“True love, I guess.”
He pulled you into his coils, peeking over your shoulder at the catalogs on the table. He ran a finger over the things you’d circled.
“Lei, can I ask you something?” you asked.
“Anything, love.”
You twisted around to look at him, narrowing your eyes.
“Did you tell Iris that you were excited I sneezed on you?”
“Ah…noooo,” he lied, his whole face darkening to a deep blue. “Wh-Why would she say something silly like that?”
You giggled.
“Of course not,” you said, patting his chest. “I must have misheard her. Can I borrow your handkerchief? It's a little warm out here.”
He passed it to you and you daintily patted your forehead, handing it back. His eyes widened at the little scrap of fabric in his hand and he hastily stuck it in his jacket pocket.
Leander might be a weirdo, but he was your weirdo and you wouldn't have it any other way.

can we have a merciless sukuna just pounding you for hours and hours to take his cock in front of a mirror and him saying "look how fucked out you are" AKJFHKAJFHKAHFAKH -👺
18+ content only - mdni
this is really short knajge but I'm dipping my toes back into posting! this is not my best writing but I wanted to post this still sknjrtr
tags: fem reader + explicit smut + true form! Sukuna + double penetration in one hole + overstimulation + sukuna is occ because I made him a love-sick fool
"Sukuna! Slow down!" You squealed trying to get the King Of Curses to listen to you as you hurried behind him feeling your heart thud with each step that brought you closer to the kitchen where the servant who tried to put a move on you stood preparing dinner.
He finally stopped when you grasped his robe tugging on it with all your might. With blood rushing to your ears you took a step back when your lover turned around to look down at you. "I'm going to kill him and put his head on a stake so everyone knows." He muttered.
You stepped forward to slide your much smaller hand into one of his four. "It's not even seven am and you're already talking about murder, let's go enjoy a bath together or something, because here soon you will not have any servants left if you keep offing them." You told him.
Sukuna was a man, or monster that most people called him wasn't someone you wanted to argue with but you knew he had a soft spot for you, his wife. You were the only one not scared to step up to him.
He liked seeing the fiery look in your eyes when you challenged him, at first Sukuna enjoyed having you as one of his servants until he made you his wife. "Then they need to stop looking at what's mine, you're my brat, not anyone else's." He tutted rolling his eyes.
"You know The King Of Curses doesn't pout, right?" You teased turning away to make your way down the hallway that brought in a natural light that bathed you in it stopping Sukuna in his steps to watch you disappear around the corner.
It didn't take him long to reach the bedroom in time to see you dropping your robe before stepping towards the bathroom but you were stopped when he swept you off your feet quickly tossing you on the bed gently hearing you giggle and squeal his name.
Your laughter was one of the sounds that didn't grate on his nerves and he wanted to be greedy and lap it up, the man who has killed many and has done unforgivable crimes knows he doesn't deserve you but Sukuna never claimed to be a good man and he wanted you.
The idea of his servants eyeing you made his blood boil with anger and a protectiveness that flared deep within him like a flower under the warm sun after a long reason of rain and cold, the petals blooming and taking over.
Sukuna joined you on the bed hearing it creak to cover your body with his.
That's how you ended up on your knees with Sukuna behind you an hour later, two arms wrapped around your waist, one between your legs to circle your clit, and the other holding the back of your neck when you rested his head on his shoulder feeling both cocks slide back into you with a wet squelch that made you huff.
It was quite a mess really with how he kept pulling orgasms from you like a magician does with scarves out of his hand, Sukuna controlled your body and you wouldn't have it any other way when he made you feel this good. "Look at you, so fucked out." He growled in your ear.
He knew what he was doing too when he made sure that same servant had to pass the bedroom to hear the bed squeaking and your unashamed moans, the same man who wanted you also had no choice but to see it happening with the door open for him to see.
Sukuna caught his gaze as you continued to stare in the mirror at your husband who cared greatly for you before catching onto the silent stare-off between him and the servant.
It wasn't the first time this had happened and while you never minded if people watched you both there was something inside you that snapped knowing that he wanted you, your pussy gushed around Sukuna as he stilled to bury himself deep inside you with a groan.
Later that night when you entered the kitchen for a late-night drink you were met with Sukuna cornering the man from earlier. "Kuna?" He whirled around to see you standing there confused.
The man couldn't be more grateful for you in this moment as he scurried away from certain death.

YOUR HUSBAND LOVED HIS TWO GIRLS more than anything. That being you, of course-- his wife, along with your beautiful daughter Aaliyah, who had just turned one a couple days ago. Ever since you had become pregnant and he asked you to marry him, he's only had a soft spot for you and your little one.
Today, unfortunately, your boss called you at six in the morning to inform you that you were needed in the courthouse immediately, for whatever reason. While your husband was out doing whatever 'gangster' stuff he pleased in your teenage years, you had went through college and bagged a couple degrees in forensics and law. Miles had stopped being the prowler when he found out that you were pregnant, the ultimate fear of putting his daughter in danger causing him to pick up a well-paying job that allowed him to work from home. So here he was, your little girl laying on his chest as he watched you get ready. He carefully sat up, slowly bouncing her on his shoulder so that she wouldn't wake. He whispered, "Do you have to go? Tell that lil boy that today was your day off."
You giggle, slipping on your work pants, "He isn't some 'lil boy', Miles, he's my boss. And I wish I could stay, but apparently it's a really important case and they need the best of the best."
"Oh, so you sayin' you that girl, hm?" He whispered, rubbing your daughter's back when he heard her coo. You giggled, slipping on a white button up and undoing the top three, a black blazer accenting the plain blouse. You grabbed your purse and keys and headed over to your husband and beautiful daughter, kissing her on her forehead, "I guess so. I should be back by three or four, depending on how many people this person decided to slaughter."
"If you ain't home by four, I'll be the one up in that courthouse." Miles warns, but his lips stretch into a smile as he gives you a quick kiss on the lips, "I love you. Be safe."
You nod, "You gonna be okay with Aaliyah? Lately she's been fussy."
"This is literally my daughter, remember?" Your husband remarks jokingly, "She'll be okay. I got her, hermosa."
"Mkay." You suck your teeth with uncertainty, "Love you both endlessly."
And with that, you were out the door.
Tumblr media
For the first four hours that you were gone, everything was a breeze. Aaliyah would let out an occasional cry or whine when she was hungry or needed to be changed, but she didn't start really acting up until about one 'o clock, where she was screaming so loud, Miles was sure that she had damaged her vocal chords beyond repair. He tried everything he possibly could- playing with her, trying to put her to sleep, feeding her, and nothing was working.
Finally, he just sighed, picking her up and holding her up to his head. He bounced her, "What's the matter lil ma, huh? Why're you cryin'? Is it cause you miss mommy?"
That statement earns a cry.
"Yeah...I miss her too." He sighs, placing your daughter on his shoulders as he holds her hands with his own, making his way to the living room. He then sits down and places her next to him, "Okay, if you stop cryin', then we can have some ice cream and watch some of mommy's TV shows that she doesn't let us watch. I'll let you pick, but you can't tell, okay? How does that sound?"
He knows that realistically, your daughter can't make out half of what he's saying, but he finds it hilarious when Aaliyah gives him a nod, her cries slowly started to silence. He smiles and hurriedly runs to the kitchen to fix one bowl of small strawberry ice cream and one bowl of vanilla. He grabs a small spoon and runs over to your daughter, who's sucking on her tiny fists angrily. Miles eyes her, "No, baby, look- here's your ice cream."
He feeds her a spoonful and she immediately gives him a toothless grin, "Yummy!"
"It is, isn't it? It's bussin'. Can you say bussin'?"
He laughs when Aaliyah just gives him incoherent noises. He then turns on the TV and clicks 'Real Housewives'. Was it necessarily appropriate? No, but then again, the girl was one, so as long as it stopped her screeching, it was good to go.
Before the two of them knew it, you were home, walking through the front door and expecting your husband and baby girl to be up and rowdy. Instead, you saw Aaliyah resting on Miles' chest, his head hanging off of the couch's armrest. Two bowls of ice cream were completely empty with spoons inside of them, licked completely clean. The muffled sound of your favorite show played aloud. You smiled and kicked off your flats, grabbing a blanket from the linen closet as you slid next to your husband. You felt him wrap an arm around you sleepily, "Mami?"
"I'm here." You smiled, snuggling into your lover's side as your hand ghosted over your baby's thick hair. You heard Miles mumble against your ear, "I love you."
And you replied sweetly, eyelashes batting as you felt the opiate of sleep undertake you,
"I love you more."

Will y/n survive the hate she will receive from certain members of the inner circle -including her mate- regarding the way she grew up?
Warnings; angst, mentions of abuse and death
Chapter 1
Feyre showed you the first guest room and started walking toward the second one, but your voice stopped her “This one is fine”.
She looked at you with kindness, her features soft and a small smile decorating her face. “You know… the first time I visited the night court I was wearing a similar dress”.
“Your wedding dress… yes we all heard” you smiled.
She chuckled and continued “I was scared, I had only heard awful rumours about the night court and Rhysand so trust me when I say that it’s all bullshit. Rhysand is kind and thoughtful, the same goes for everyone in this house… maybe not for Nesta but she loves us in her own twisted way” You kept staring at her not quite understanding why she was telling you all of this. “I guess what I’m trying to say is that we will protect you and be by your side for as long as you need, even forever, but if you try to harm any of us the consequences will be like the rumours of this court.” You gulped and took a step back, your eyes quickly scanned the room for possible hiding places, Feyre noticed and lifted her hands up “Hey calm down, I didn’t mean to scare you, but you are a stranger that Mor brought here and as the High Lady of this court it is my duty to inform you. I must make sure that my people are safe. I know that Mor wouldn’t bring someone dangerous here, but females forced to wed is a soft spot for her and it might cloud her vision.”
You stared at her, guilt building in you. Ladies should please others. “High Lady Feyre I’m so sorry if I offended you. You are right you should protect your people” you replied, a polite smile appearing on your face. She frowned but said nothing more, with a nod she disappeared down the hall, probably back in the dinning room.
You entered the room, it was twice the size of the main room in your cottage, you stared at the huge bed in the middle, the windows that looked like paintings because of the view outside. Soft fae lights decorated the room creating a gentle atmosphere. A sigh left your lips and you walked to the closet, curious if you would find anything inside, you really needed to get rid of this dress. To your surprise the closet was filled with every kind of clothes but none like your usual attire. Everything here was so revealing, you remembered one time that you saw a dress like those back in the winter court, you quickly tried it on but immediately regretted it when you saw your mother’s face filled with disgust. Ladies keep their bodies for their husbands. Only the females working in the brothels wear things like that.
You opened the drawers to find something less revealing and you were met with multiple pairs of pants and shirts. You almost gasped. There must have been some mistake maybe a male was staying in this room before me. You thought. A female can’t wear those, right? You grabbed a long-sleeved nightgown and entered the bathroom. You were met with a deep bathtub. Your brows furrowed in confusion, and you jumped back when water started to pour in it. You scanned the bathroom, but no one was there. Maybe some kind of spell? You stripped your clothes and entered the bathtub hissing when your leg touched the water. So hot you thought and closed your eyes as you laid inside, every muscle relaxed, your body going numb but not in a bad way. When you boiled water, you always thought how it would be like if for once you bathed in hot water. Turns out it is better than you could ever imagine. You thought about what Azriel said “raised like a princess”, everyone seemed to believe that, you did too. You saw the females in your village working and you always thought that you were getting special treatment because you didn’t work. But raised like a princess? You doubted that. You didn’t even know the feeling of hot water around your body until now. You stayed in the bathtub until you were sleepy enough. You dried yourself with the soft towel and tried the nightgown, you frowned when you saw the length… mid-thigh. You pulled it until it reached beneath your knees and slipped into bed. You stared at the ceiling; you were exhausted but the feeling that anyone could walk in at any time kept you awake.
Sleep finally came and your body relaxed -still facing the door.
You woke up just when the sun appeared in the sky, the city even brighter. You watched the river, so calm yet wild. You tried to find a dress decent enough for your taste -or your mother’s taste, finally you saw one, midnight blue with long sleeves and it reached your knees. This will do. You thought. You usually wore light colours since your mother believed that a proper lady should look gentle and sweet, but this colour looked good on you too, it made you look powerful.
You walked around the house enjoying the silence and trying to find the kitchen. After countless guest rooms and bathrooms, you finally found it.
You searched the cabinets and after collecting all the ingredients you needed you started cooking. You hummed a song your mother had taught you and twirled around to pick the spatula almost smacking on a hard chest. You gasped and took a step back, hazel eyes were staring down at you, a musky scent of cedar and smoke filling your senses. Azriel’s face was cold, even colder that the ice in your court, the thought made you shiver.
“What are you doing?” he questioned, his deep voice was raspy probably because he just woke up.
“Breakfast” you stuttered. You wanted to disappear.
“The house can do that” he rolled his eyes and left.
You frowned and continued cooking, feeling stupid for even trying but you wanted to thank them for taking you in and cooking was one of the few things you could do.
You finished the food and placed it on the dining table, footsteps echoed through the house and a few minutes later everyone was in the dining room. “Smells so good” Cassian breathed and started filling his plate. “You made that?” Feyre asked.
“Yes, as a thank you for accepting me in your court” you replied with a small smile.
Azriel stared at his plate, it was still empty. Suddenly a platter with several kinds of food appeared next to him and he started to eat. You frowned but didn’t dare to say anything.
“Y/n, would you like to go shopping with me today?” Mor asked you.
You glanced at Rhysand and Feyre.
“You don’t have to wait for our approval” Feyre’s voice was soft.
“But before you leave, I need to see you in my office” Rhysand added.
You gulped but nodded anyway.
Your attention moved to Azriel who dropped his fork and stared at Rhysand, their eyes unfocused. “They are having a mental conversation” Cassian told you as he noticed your curious look.
“You can talk in each other’s minds?” you gaped. “Rhysand is daemati” Nesta spoke with a bored look.
You didn’t know what else to say, your questions seemed to annoy her, so you kept your mouth shut. A few moments later Azriel stormed out and Rhysand pinched his nose.
“Let’s go to my office” he told you and got up, you followed him and almost flinched when you saw Azriel already in there. Rhysand took a seat behind his desk and cleared his throat. “I asked Azriel to go back to your court and find out everything he could about you and your family. Turns out that everything you told Mor was true, so it is my pleasure to welcome you in my court.” “Thank you” you bowed your head. “Please don’t do that, I want you to consider me your friend. I want to help you find your own personality, you need to find your own strength. Your goal should be to become powerful and confident not someone’s wife.” He continued. You could only stare, no one ever spoke to you like that, no one offered to help you become something else.
“I know that you and Azriel don’t get along, that’s why he is assigned to show you the city and help you with everything you need. I hope this will be enough for you to toughen up”
Silence.
Your jaw almost touched the ground. Azriel was fuming, he opened his mouth to protest but Rhysand lifted a finger and dismissed you both with a “That’ll be all” and a smile.
You exited the office and were pushed against the wall, scarred hands grabbed your arms and kept them above your head, a hot breath against your cheek.
“You won’t speak without my permission, you won’t follow me around like a toddler and you won’t seek me out. I will come find you when I want to.” He growled. “Is that understood?”
You stared at him, your eyes filling with tears and your body shaking. You frantically nodded your head wanting to get as far away from him as you could.
“Words princess” “Y-yes” you stuttered.
And with that he was gone, only a few shadows stayed who approached you and caressed your cheeks, drying the tears you weren’t able to hold back.
You couldn’t go to Rhys you knew he would tell Azriel, and you didn’t want to find out what the consequences would be for you. You went back to your room.
You dreaded the moment he would find you again.
What do you think?

Once Alastor had given Y/n the full tour, she had absolutely insisted that she be allowed to meet the rest of the guests. Alastor could never say no to her and so, he had taken her by the arm and walked her back into the lobby. It did not come as a surprise to him that in the short time they had been away from the hotel's central area, Charlie had managed to set up a welcome party for his darling wife. Y/n on the other hand, gasped in shock when everyone jumped out from behind the various couches.
"I literally... okay, I have no clue who any of you are but thank you? This is so sweet? I..."
Before Alastor could do a thing about it, Y/n was whisked away from his gentle grasp by Charlie. The demon Princess brought Y/n to the center of the room, Alastor watching from the sidelines with crossed arms. She seemed to happy, so absolutely filled to the brim with joy. As much as he wanted to take her away from the crowd, to be alone with her, he allowed the party to occur. Her joy had always been his priority, first and foremost. There would be time.
"Everyone!" Charlie excitedly announced, "This is Y/n! She is going to be our newest guest. Our cook? Our newest maybe guest who is going to work as a cook."
Y/n laughed lightly at Charlie's confused words. She took a slight step forward.
"Hi everyone." she waved with a soft smile.
"Oh she's good." Angel Dust muttered and Husk elbowed him in the stomach, catching the glare Alastor had shot the spider demon's way.
"Ow!" Angel exclaimed, rubbing the spot the cat demon had hit as he turned to him, "What was that for?"
Y/n chuckled a bit uneasily, looking over at Alastor and his wide smile. Vaggie quickly stepped in, breaking the tension she felt slowly building in the group.
"I'm Vaggie." she announced in an unfounded and unexpected display of friendship, "Charlie is my girlfriend, we run the hotel together."
Y/n lit up at her words, shaking the hand Vaggie held out to her enthusiastically.
"I didn't realize she had a partner in all this! And in afterlife too, I guess. That's so sweet!"
Vaggie smiled, letting out a light laugh as Charlie stepped up behind her, placing her hands lovingly on her girlfriend's shoulders.
"She is just the best." Charlie warmly noted as Y/n and Vaggie released their clasped hands, "I wouldn't have been able to come this far without her or any of the other sinners we have working with us."
"I thought everyone else here were just guests." Y/n mused aloud and Charlie shook her head.
"No, no! We tried doing it on our own in the beginning... but then Alastor showed up. He brought along some friends and, well, he's really been such a help. We are so grateful to have him and them on our team."
Y/n shot her husband a sidelong glance, smirking mishceviously.
"You really know how to work magic, princess." she hummed, "Getting Al to be a team player? I'm impressed."
"Oh, no!" Charlie frantically waved her hands, desperate that Y/n not get any wrong impressions, "We didn't pressure him or anything, he showed up of his own accord, actually."
"Really." Y/n laughed lightly as she fixed her gaze back on Charlie, "Well, I'd love to meet these alleged 'friends' of his he brought along."
"Of course!" Charlie exclaimed, smiling brightly once again as she stepped to the side with Vaggie, "Husk is our bartender and Nifty is our maid. She was our cook too but, I suppose you'll be taking care of that now."
Husk nodded his head in polite recognition of the introduction Charlie had given him. Nifty on the other hand, was incapable of such restraint and, her curiosity getting the better of her, rushed up to Y/n. In a split second, she had climbed the demoness' body like a ladder and was perched on her shoulder, messing with her hair.
"You smell nice." she hummed, smiling and Y/n's cheeks flushed slightly pink.
"Why, thank you. That is very sweet of you to say."
"Will you help me in the war against the bugs too?"
"Come on, Nift." Angel sighed before Y/n could respond as he walked over to the pair and grabbed the smaller demon, "Don't freak her out."
Nifty made grabby arms towards Y/n as Angel lifted her into the air and Y/n's smile only widened at the sight.
"No, please don't worry. You didn't freak me out, Nifty. I am actually looking forward to working with you, I like your enthusiasm." Y/n sent Nifty a wink and the little demon's smile grew as her feet found solid ground again.
She shot a look up at Angel, nodding her approval as Y/n fixed her gaze on the spider demon as well.
"And you are...?" she prompted and Angel immediately fell into character.
Stepping forward, he leaned down towards her, running a hand through his hair while resting one of his elbows on her shoulder.
"Angel Dust is the name, but you can call me whatever you want."
He expected her to be flustered, to at least blush a bit. He waited for her to take a step back or even to be teased or jabbed the way Husk did when he was like this, but nothing of the sort came. Instead, Y/n's eyes glinted in the light, narrowing with intended mischief.
"Oh yeah?" she asked, taking a step closer to him and batting her eyes oh so prettily.
"I... uh..." Angel stuttered, completely taken aback.
Y/n dissolved into a fit of laughter, hands clutching at her stomach as she doubled over.
"I'm sorry!" she wheezed, "I couldn't help myself. I'm actually taken."
"You are?" Angel asked, growing more confused as she straightened back up, wiping a stray tear from her eye.
In a split second, Alastor was behind Y/n, his claws wrapping around her shoulders.
"She is." he replied and though his voice was calm and even, it sent shivers down Angel's spine.
Angel took a step back, scratching the back of his head as he looked away in discomfort.
"Oh, uh, sorry. Didn't realize you and the strawberry pimp here were an item."
"Strawberry..." Y/n laughed again, craning her neck to look up at Alastor behind her back, "I am not letting you live that one down."
Angel smiled, regaining his composure and placing his hands on his hips.
"Oh yeah? You shoulda heard what that girl who was in here a few days ago called him. 'Tall dark and creepy' was it?"
"And what girl might that be?" Y/n asked after a moment, crossing her arms over her chest as she sidled her way out of Alastor's grip, turning to face him.
"Mimzy." Husk answered before Alastor could reply, "She's just some lowlife who always hangs around when she needs Alastor to take care of some trouble she's caused."
Y/n let out a gasp.
"Mimz is here?" she asked excitedly, bouncing on her toes.
"She's here, darling." Alastor replied, "But she is no longer welcome in the hotel. Caused quite a bit of trouble for us when she visited after all, can't have her ruining my newest project."
"Well, can we go visit her? I miss her so much!"
"You know her?" Charlie asked, her voice laced with confusion.
Y/n turned to face Charlie, nodding intently.
"Yeah, she introduced us actually."
"Introduced certainly is a word for it." Alastor admitted and Y/n chuckled.
"Back when we were alive, she used to throw these 'singles parties.' As it turned out, Al and I both were using them as a hunting ground so to speak. When we met, he offered to walk me home and then pulled a knife on me. Of course, I already had my gun trained on him so we found ourselves in a bit of a sticky situation. It was so romantic." Y/n wistfully replied.
"Uh, yeah." Angel laughed, "Romantic. That's the word."
"So you guys knew each other when you were alive?" Vaggie asked.
"Yeah, we did." Y/n nodded, "You guys can ask whatever but first, I think there is one more person I have yet to meet?"
She turned expectantly towards Sir Pentious who up until this point had been standing quietly near the back of the group. At the redirection of the rooms attention, he felt his cheeks grow warm.
"This, Y/n, is our other guest." Charlie announced, gesturing towards the snake demon with an outstretched hand.
"Sir Pentious." he bowed lightly, "It is an honor to meet a demon as... as stunning as yourself."
There was a heartbeat, a single tense moment of silence. Then Y/n laughed, waving him off cheerily.
"Oh you, what a charmer."
"So you guys knew each other when you were alive? And you're... you're together?" Angel cut in, drawing Y/n's attention back to him as he lead her by her arm over to the bar.
They sat down beside one another, Husk slipping behind the counter and pouring them each a drink.
"Yep." Y/n replied, downing her drink and meeting Angel's eyes.
"How?" he prompted after a moment and Y/n laughed.
By now the rest of the gang had brought themselves over to where the pair sat and were listening intently. Alastor stood near the edge of the group, all the seats near his beloved having been snatched up before he had the chance. He crossed his arms over his chest, his patience beginning to wear thin.
Nearly one hundred years. It had been a lifetime since they had seen one another and the brief tour of the hotel he had given Y/n earlier was not enough to satiate the rabid hunger in his chest. Still, for her, he tried.
"Well, it was a ruse at first. Just a partnership. I watched for cops and he provided me with the brute strength I lacked. We were actually in the middle of chasing down one of his victims when he finally asked me out."
"You were a killer?" Pentious asked, enthralled.
"I was." Y/n nodded, "Until Al died and I was under too much suspicion to do so anymore."
"So you..." Charlie trailed off, counting on her fingers in deep concentration.
"Have been married for a hundred years give or take? Yep."
"Wait, hold on!" Angel exclaimed, "Married?"
"Did Charlie not tell you anything? More importantly, did Al never talk about me?"
Y/n raised her eyebrows, meeting her husband's gaze across the crowd. Alastro looked away, nearly bashful under her persistent gaze. It was Husk's turn to step in now, taking a sip of his own drink as he leaned across the bar.
"Alastor has enjoyed keeping his secrets." he candidly stated, "But there were one or two times he drank a little too much and let your name slip."
Alastor glared at Husk and Y/n grinned at her husbands reaction to the revelation.
"Always the troublemaker, that one but, god, do I love him."

Small Kisses
Tumblr media
Vincent De Gramont x Wife!Reader
Warning: mention of toxic obsession and kidnapping (not done by Vincent)
Summary: You loved the tickle of his lips on your skin.
Tumblr media
Vincent loved to give you small kisses.
No matter the reason. He just loved doing it wherever you two were.
A formal event?
A simple dinner?
A small date?
Or just staying in bed all day?
You swore the reason Vincent lived was to give you his sweetest kisses. A man so cunning and proud as him, yet he would be the proudest and calmest whenever he was with you.
You were his beautiful wife whom he loved with all of his dark heart.
But you didn't mind the blood, the murder and the insanity of it all.
Because every time he killed someone in the most brutal way, he would also come home to you, his gorgeous suit covered in blood, and give you such a sweet kiss.
It was honestly confusing rather than anything.
Vincent was a very classy man. He enjoyed the luxuries in life. High-end products, and he always made sure that you lived in the same luxury.
On your last birthday, he gifted you an original Monét piece.
The painting is currently right above your bed.
If he could, he would buy you the Mona Lisa.
He would literally make sure that you are dripping in diamonds, much like how he did for his birthday when he got you a special gown, made out of diamonds.
Once he said: "I would change the Mona Lisa to a painting of you, you are far more beautiful, Mon Amour."
His sweet talking always worked.
No matter how angry you were because of something, he would always say the sweetest things and then give you a small kiss to your forehead.
“My Beautiful Wife, even stunning when she is mad at me.”
“I would kill any man for you, Mon Amour. You don’t have to ask.”
“I must apologise, I believe I have lacked in my duties as a husband, Mon Amour. I believe you forgot just how much I love you.”
He would always make sure that you are happy and protected.
Even when one time, he failed to do that.
Well, it was more like his men failed, not him.
When you were taken, he was furious. Too furious to say or do anything other than rage.
You were taken by a man. A man so insane, you never saw anything like this.
He kept on going on about how he knew you were in love with him, how he knew that you only married Gramont for the money and how now, you two can be together.
He scared you.
His obsession with you was toxic, you could see just how crazy he was in his eyes. Every time he used the word 'love' it sent a shiver up and down your spine.
When Vincent finally got to you, you were shaking in fear. The only thing that managed to calm you was Vincent's kisses.
The smallest little kisses he placed all along your body. He also spoke in French some calming words but you could only recall the tickle of his lips when he found a soft spot.
And when the next couple of days you woke up with a shiver, having nightmares about the man who abducted you, it was Vincent who calmed you down.
It was he who kept waking up with you, never leaving your side, promising he would never leave or let this ever happen to you while placing kisses on your hands, knuckles and palm.
Vincent loved to give you small kisses on any exposed skin that you have.
But you loved the tickle of his lips on your skin even more.
His little kisses were the true proof of his love for you.

Feel the Same | Jay Halstead
Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader
Request: from @/runnning-outof-time
Warnings: General Chicago PD stuff. Working undercover. Guns. Serial killer who gets off on forcing couples to do stuff before killing them. I may have taken it a little further than I needed to.
Word Count: 1,822
Jay Halstead Masterlist | Main Masterlist
“Come on you two, act more like a couple,” Ruzek could be heard over Jay and Y/N’s ear pieces. Y/N fights the urge to roll her eyes as she shifts closer to Jay.
“Maybe you can come in and take my place,” she mumbles as Jay leans in, leaving barely any space between them as his blue eyes look into hers.
“You and Jay are more his type,” he says referring to the suspect having an affinity for women who look similar to her with men who just so happen to also look like Jay. The whole thing was uncanny. “Though I’m flattered that you think Jay and I would make a cute couple.”
“Enough you two,” Hank’s rough voice breaks through their bantering. “But Ruzek’s right, you need to look in love or you won’t get his attention.”
Jay takes her hand, stroking the back of it with his thumb, his touch calming her. He gives her a soft smile and leans in closer to talk to her so he’s not shouting over the music.
“I didn’t say it earlier, but you look incredible,” he says softly into her ear before pulling back far enough to look into her eyes.
Her brain malfunctions for a moment, her skin heating from his compliment and his closeness feeling more intimate than when they last went undercover as a couple.
Movement from over his shoulder catches her attention. Their murder suspect James Henry, who they feared is a couples serial killer, has his eyes zeroed in on her and Jay. She shifts her eyes back to her partner and pretend husband. “He’s looking but he looks a little bored.”
“Then maybe we should give him a show,” he says before leaning in and softly kisses the side of her neck.
She bites her lip and tries to suppress her surprise and the arousal she feels as his soft lips caress her skin. He was used to her kissing her cheek when they played into being a couple for undercover work, but this felt too intimate, and she found herself loving it.
“This, okay?” She hears him ask, his warm breath fanning against her skin. She doesn’t know how he found her sweet spot on the first kiss
“Mhmm,” she says unable to form any words.
His lips brush her skin again, this time brushing against her sweet spot. The sigh of pleasure would have her feeling embarrassed but right now all she could focus on is the way Jay’s lips feel against her skin. She can’t remember the last time she’d been kissed this way and a part of her knows she shouldn’t be enjoying.
Going along with it, she slides her hands under his shirt and scratches her nails along his skin. When Jay’s lips finally meet hers, she’s gone enough to melt into it.
She comes back to reality a moment later and breaks the kiss. Glancing at their suspect, she says into Jay’s ear, “It’s time to go somewhere private.”
Leaning back, she kisses Jay once more, taking his hand in hers and throwing him a smirk. She leads him to one of the private rooms off to the side of the club.
“He’s following you,” Adam’s voice comes through the earpiece.
“Good,” Jay says letting them know they heard him.
“Keep up the show,” Adam adds, causing Y/N’s cheeks to heat up. She’d gotten so caught up in the kiss, she’d forgotten about the surveillance team watching and listening in on them.
Once inside the room, Jay closes the door, leads her to the sofa and sits down, pulling her onto her lap. “Are you sure you’re okay with this?”
“Yeah,” she nods and starts fiddling with one of his buttons on his shirt. “We haven’t gone this far before but, whatever gets the job done, right?”
He nods and looks over her shoulder, seeing the silhouette of a figure outside the door. Pulling her into another kiss, they move into a more intimate position with one of hands trailing up her thigh and gripping it just below the hem of her little black dress as the other buries it into her hair, holding her to him. Once again Y/N fights to hold back the moan threatening to escape the back of her throat.
Hearing the door open and close, Y/N breaks the kiss. The two detectives turn their attention to the door, seeing their suspect standing there.
“Don’t stop on my account,” he tells them, standing there with a smirk on his face and lustful hunger in his eyes.
“Are you some kind of perv?” Y/N questions him, not even trying to hide her disgust as she clenches her jaw, now fighting off the urge to throw up. This guy was more than just a perv.
Jay moves them so they’re standing up with him standing in front of her. She places a hand on his arms, to reassure him she can handle herself while maintaining the ‘couple’ persona. To James it looks like a boyfriend shielding his girlfriend, to her and Jay it’s more than that. He was protecting her like he always does, making sure he’d be the first or only one injured if it were to go south, giving her time to take him down or call for back up. She was reassuring him that she can handle herself, that she’s got his back, if anything happens to him, he’s her priority and that she’s willing to take his spot if it means protecting him. She’d be standing in front of him if she wasn’t playing the scared girlfriend.
“You’re going to want to do as I say if you want to survive tonight,” James tells them pulling out a gun and pointing it towards them.
Jay’s hand that was reached back behind him to hold Y/N close to him, gripped her tighter. “Are you fucking insane?”
“Maybe I am, but the thing is I get this urge,” he begins, thinking this will be another kill he can get away with. “When I see a beautiful couple, like yourselves, I have to force them to do things and in a climatic ending I, unfortunately for them, have to kill them.”
“Babe, I don’t want to die,” Y/N says to Jay, putting on the scared girlfriend act.
“We’re not going to die, okay?” he says pretending to reassure her. “Look man, I don’t know what messed up crap happened in your life to make you like this, but I know some people who can help you. They specialize in this sort of thing.”
“I don’t need a fucking therapist!” James shouts at him. “I need you to go back to what you were doing.”
“Here’s the thing, I also have performance issues, okay?” Jay tells him. “I can’t perform under pressure. Just ask my girl. Last week something bad happened at work. I was stressed to the max and I couldn’t get it up. So, this, this isn’t going to happen unless you-”
A shot went off cutting Jay off from his rambling about his fake performance issues in the bedroom. Jay looks at James more angry than shocked.
After James takes a shot at Jay and misses him completely, Y/N reaches for her clutch, shoving her hand inside it and pulls out her gun. Taking a small step to the right, still standing mostly behind Jay, she holds up her gun pointing it at James. She makes sure to aim it at his head as her free hand clutches the back of Jay’s shirt, letting him not to move in case James decides to take another shot.
“You shoot at him again, I’ll shoot you and believe me I won’t miss,” she tells him before mumbling into the small microphone. “If you’re going to move in, now would be the time.”
“We’re on our way,” Hank’s voice comes through the earpiece before the door to the office is smashed open and the room is filled with cops.
Thankfully the suspect drops the gun and holds up his hands knowing there is no other way out of this alive. Jay steps forward, taking the cuffs from Adam. Slapping them on to James’ wrists, he reads him his rights before handing him off to one of the other cops before making his way over to Y/N and Hank.
“You two can fill out your reports in the morning,” Hank tells them. “Go home and get some sleep.”
“You got it boss,” Y/N thanks him as he walks away. She turns to face Jay.
“Are you okay?” he asks her, placing a hand on her shoulder.
“I should be asking you that,” she says covering his hand with hers.
“Not the first time I’ve been shot at,” he smiles.
“Okay, macho man,” she rolls her eyes and pulls him in for a hug.
“I’ll drive you home,” he tells her and leads her to his truck.
-
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Y/N tells Jay as she gets out of his truck after a silent drive home. Neither of them had spoken, being too caught up in their own thoughts about what happened at the club now their adrenaline had worn off.
Y/N heads up to her apartment and gets ready to have a shower to wash away the events of the night. She’s about to turn on the shower when there is a knock at the door. Leaving the bathroom, she walks to the door and opens it seeing Jay.
“Is everything okay?” she asks him.
“After what happened at the club… Kissing you… I can’t get it out of my head, and I can’t ignore the way it made me feel,” he begins. “I can’t keep pretending that I don’t feel anything more than friendship for you and that there is nothing between us.”
“What are you saying?” she questions him, her heart thumping against her chest, a lump caught in her throat and her thoughts spinning in her head.
“I’m saying that I love you and not just as my friend or work partner,” he tells her. “I love you and I want to be with you. I really hope you feel the same. If you-”
She cuts him off by pulling him for a kiss. This one wasn’t as urgent as their kiss from earlier in the night. Jay arms move around her waist, pulling her closer before walking her backwards into her apartment and kicks the door close.
“I feel the same,” she says breaking the kiss. “I love you too.”
Smiling, he kisses her again until she breaks the kiss again.
“You don’t really have performance issues, right?” she teases him, knowing full well he didn’t. “Because you know, it could be an issue.”
“Do I have to go over all my sexcapades again with you?” he teases back. “Because I can tell you-”
“I’m good,” she chuckles and pulls him in for another kiss.

¡! oh, those ocean eyes | tartaglia
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
cw: fem reader (use of term wife but other than that no other pronouns); mentions of pregnancy; smut, very mild breeding / impreg kink ???, pet names (baby, sweetheart, angel)
wc: 3.4k
a/n: i hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did writing it, it's one of the longest things I've written in a long time
Tumblr media
"welcome our soldiers and heroes back to our homeland after they have completed their task for our queen, the tsaritsa. please, welcome back the knave, ms. arlecchino and mr. tartaglia!“
your eyes widened at the announcement echoing throughout the entire nation.
how come you were not notified of his return? by the tsaritsa, you were so close to murdering someone in anger but this frustration quickly faded when you came back to the realization that your husband finally was home.
you immediately grabbed your jacket and went outside into the familiar freezing cold, everybody who knew you and your relationship with ajax congratulated you for his return which you returned with 'thank you's.
a small part of you wished they would just shut up and let you run to finally let you see your husband after four long months.
what state is he in? is he alright?
the questions and worries in your mind were so overpowering that you started to ignore the people who congratulated you and just started running on the slippery, icy grounds.
luckily, as you had become very familiar with these grounds, you didn‘t slip and fall; quickly arriving at the big entrance to zapolyarny palace where you were — again — stopped by the guards.
"halt! you can‘t simply enter the— oh, it‘s you! apologies, ma‘am, i had not noticed it was you. you may enter. welcome!", the guard said, tone firm, yet in some strange way, welcoming as well.
"thank you", you replied with a soft smile, as you entered the icy halls of the palace, immediately trying to figure out where your husband was.
"oh, hello, y/n!", arlecchino greeted you, as she was about to leave. "he‘s in the infirmary, getting patched up.“
before you could inquire about his current state, she just disappeared. with no further thoughts about this, you just ran towards the infirmary, finally spotting your husband in just a hospital gown as he bit into the pillow in pain when the nurse applied some disinfecting cloth on his wounds.
"hey, hey! stop! you‘re hurting him more like this“, you yelled, pushing the nurse away. being used to his … adventurous behavior, you had figured out how to take care of him as pain-free as possible. "can i take care of my husband myself?"
the nurse nodded before she rolled her eyes, mumbling something along the lines of 'why even let me do my job, just pretend you know it all better' which pissed you off even more.
"listen, you little bitch, you have no idea what i went through these last four months. now shut the fuck up and let me do my job. and not to forget, i was a nurse here with the fatui, too, for way longer than you probably even lived, until i married this idiot and he insisted on how he doesn‘t want me to work for my money. now piss off."
the nurse scoffed before she left and you were finally all alone with your husband.
"oh, you stupid, stupid idiot. how many times do i need to tell you to be more careful", you mumbled as you brushed some strands of hair out of his face.
ajax groaned in pain as he lifted his head, still trying to laugh to lighten up the whole situation. "if only you knew what i did all this time, you‘d be so proud of me", he laughed, making you smile.
"oh, i am proud of you either way, baby", you replied, planting a gentle kiss on his cheek. "you did so amazing. i can't wait for you to tell me everything. now, shut up, and let me get somebody to bring you home. alright? i’ll personally take care of you until you’re fully back to your health.”
you quickly stood up, calling for somebody and a low-rank agent arrived, greeting both of you with a quick bow; asking how he could be of assistance.
"i need somebody to escort me and my husband home. i'll be taking care of him myself in our home. would you please arrange a car for us?", you asked the agent, who eagerly nodded, excusing himself before he left the infirmary.
"let's get you dressed, honey", you mumbled, carefully helping him to turn around; wincing as you heard his groans in pain and you quickly ready his clothes to put them on. as he was finally dressed, the agent returned, and announced a car was ready for departure.
"hold on, dearest, may i talk to you?", the cold, yet sweet voice of the one person you always loved to chat with echoed through the freezing hallways of the palace.
you immediately stood, bowing slightly at the sight of the tsaritsa. “of course.” you quickly turned your attention to childe, telling him you’d be back shortly before you followed the usually icy queen to her only warm and comforting room.
“is there something i can do for you, your highness?”, you asked carefully; after all, she was an archon. as much as she asked for some casual chats and invited you for tea because of your relationship with childe – and because she never got to have somebody to chat with as she does with you–, she was still the person you worshiped all your life. at least, before you got to meet her as childe’s fiancée for the first time personally as he went to her for her blessing.
his loyalty to her was something else, and if you weren’t just the same towards her, you’d probably be incredibly jealous.
“just tell me… is he doing okay?”, she asked, her voice soft and at the brink of breaking.
it was unbeknownst to all but childe was somehow her favorite of all her harbingers. it was not because of his successes but because of how courageous and yet caring he was despite his young age, especially compared to all the other harbingers. “he will be fine. i’ll take care of him. he is doing quite okay, the medic on the travel home made more than enough notes on his recovery process to allow me to personalize a therapy plan. he will be out of commission for a few weeks, however. i’ll try my best to get him back on his feet as soon as possible.”
“please, don’t be afraid to contact any of the agents if there is anything you require. we will make sure ajax is well taken care of.”
ajax. she rarely called him that – actually, she never did; in your presence at least. your eyes teared up as she offered you her full support, and before you knew it, you were already embraced in her arms and sobbing, seeking comfort in one of the two only people you had placed your trust in throughout your entire life.
“i’m sorry, your highness, i did not mean to break down like this.”
“no need to apologize, my child, you have every right to feel this way. i can’t even imagine living with the most horrible thoughts of your loved one in danger with no chance of communication on his well-being. please don’t hesitate to ask for anything you need, yes?”
“thank you, your highness. i will return to him now and get him home. i’ll make sure he’s well taken care of”, you stood up, bowing slightly in front of her before you made your way back to the infirmary, smiling slightly as you saw childe bickering with an agent about how he could walk by himself and does not need any support.
“leave it to me. i know how to handle this big baby here”, you chuckled, shaking your head. “can’t you just agree to play the sick and hurt card here for once? i want to pamper you like you deserve, my dearest prince.”
“you know i can’t”, he laughed lightly, grabbing your hand as you both walked out of the infirmary and the palace as quickly as he was able to. once you were ready for departure, you leaned against his shoulder, taking in a shaky breath.
“did you cry?”, he mumbled, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. you could only nod, tears rolling down your cheeks as you embraced the emotions you tried so hard to suppress all this time; finally allowing yourself to be so weak in front of your husband and it felt so good as you cried, sobbed and he comforted you with occasional “shh”’s and “it’s all okay”’s.
once you arrived home, you helped him out of the car and towards the house, smiling as you saw the bunch of flowers and tiny gifts scattered all over the front porch. “everyone’s so happy you’re back, it seems”, you giggled. “as am i, love. i missed you so much.”
you settled him on the couch, firing up the woods in the chimney, and sat down next to him, gently brushing through his hair. “please, let me know if you need anything. i’ll be here for you, yeah?”
“stop stressing out so much, baby, just lay down with me here and let me hug you. i missed your touch too much to stay away from you right now.”
you sighed lightly, chuckling softly as you laid down next to him and looked up at him, staring at his sparkling eyes as he stared at you with so much love in his whole body, it seemed like the pain he was feeling suddenly didn’t matter, simply because he was with you now.
“i love you so much, sweetheart. i never meant to worry you as much as i did. i know that you cried when her majesty asked you for a quick talk. i heard your sobs. i’m okay, though. i’m safe and with you now, hm? just give a couple of days and i’ll be up on my feet again”, he chuckled lightheartedly, kissing your forehead softly.
“yeah, right. as if i’m going to let you”, you scoffed before you giggled, shaking your head. “you, my good sir, are going to stay laying right on this couch until i allow you to get up. i might let you go to our bedroom, though, but chances are low as of now.”
“we’ll see about that”, he whispered suggestively, smirking as he saw you biting your lip.
“you know what? maybe i should just tie you up to our bed, hm? so, that you can’t escape me”, you replied with a giggle. “you’ve been away from me for way too long, i just need to be with you here.”
“and you have me, right here with you. i don’t plan on leaving until you clear me for missions and her majesty has another task for me. i love you. so much, baby. you deserve the world for always being so patient with me whenever i get sent on a mission over a long period of time. and i would give you the world if i could”, he whispered. “you’re so incredible for the patience you have with me.”
the moment he kissed you properly for the first time after four long months, and it was the most gentle and sensual kiss you experienced in a long time. and despite his injuries, he didn’t hesitate to pull you on his lap, promising he wasn’t hurting as much anymore as he did earlier.
“you take care of me so well, sweetheart. i owe you at least one bit of indulging”, he chuckled, softly brushing through your hair. “it’s just your little reward for being such a good and patient girl for me, baby.”
you shuddered at how he was speaking to you like he hadn’t just returned from one of the longest battles of his life. “mhm, i missed the way you feel against my lips. i missed the way you taste, the way you whine when i pull away for a short breather. you’re still my beautiful needy girl, aren’t you, baby?”, he mumbled, peppering gentle kisses all over your neck.
you were only able to nod, sighing in bliss as you started getting distracted by his soft ministrations. “i am”, you mumbled, smiling innocently. and he was so whipped for you, that he wasn’t noticing any of the pain he was experiencing because of the way you made him feel.
“that’s a good girl”, he mumbled, smiling as he placed a gentle kiss on your lips.
over the four months he had spent on travels, he had been waiting the most for this moment – to finally hold you in his arms, kissing you as gently as possible – because he had missed you so, so much.
it was all that was in his mind when he fought that all-devouring narwhal for almost two months straight with no break whatsoever. all he could think of was holding you in his arms again, having you on top of him, underneath him, just having you with him. it didn’t matter, nothing mattered to him as long as you were there.
“i love you so much, sweetheart”, he whispered once more before he kissed you so desperately, yet so lovingly, it made you feel so dizzy. ajax poured all the love he felt for you into this kiss, as he slowly made moves to remove your clothing, having missed the feeling of you naked on top of him.
“n-no, ajax, we shouldn’t. y-you’re hurt, and… i could never forgive myself if i ever hurt you in this way”, you mumbled, trying to get up from his lap but he stopped you with yet another kiss, smiling softly.
“i’m doing a lot better, angel. don’t worry about me, yeah? i’m okay. and i just want to be close to you. let me remember how good it feels to be with you. it has been way too long and way too lonely all this time”, he tried to milden your worries.
with slight hesitation, you nod, slowly helping him remove his clothes, too, as he winced when a short bit of pain coursed through his body. “i’m so sorry, i knew this was a horrible idea”, you sighed, shaking your head.
“shh, relax, sweetheart, i’m okay. don’t worry, i can handle a little bit of pain”, he chuckled, shaking his head. “you worry too much, angel. i’ll be fine. if i can’t handle you right now, it’s because you’re too fucking hot.”
your cheeks were burning as you heard his stupid compliment – he always knew how to make you embarrassed and feel so stupidly in love with him. sometimes it felt like, ajax wasn’t your husband but you two were still stuck in the freshly dating stage, just because of how random his compliments were.
“idiot”, you mumbled, smiling as you leaned down. the fire in the chimney was keeping both of you warm enough, yet the way he touched you had you shivering.
“well, i’m your idiot. there’s no way you can get rid of me”, he chuckled, slowly starting to tease your clit with his thumb as you let out a needy whimper to which he couldn’t help laughing. “cute.”
“stop teasing, idiot”, you whined, “i need you.”
“mhm, baby, i know you do. you’re so wet for me already, drenching those cute little panties of yours because you missed me, huh?” you could only nod as he increased the pressure on your clit, eyes rolling back as the pleasure coursed through your body.
“mhm, oh, fuck”, was the only reply you could get out.
“god, i missed those pretty little sounds you let out”, he groaned, slowly pushing the fabric of your panties aside and aligning his cock with your entrance, before he slowly pushed himself inside, having you cry out as you felt so full of him, your body needing a moment to adjust taking your dearest husband in again.
“so full of me, aren’t you, angel?”, he let out a grunt as you slowly started moving up and down his cock, whining as he filled you up so good, making you feel dizzy from all the pleasure each time his cock hit your g-spot.
“mhm, ajax, please”, you cried, thoughts started to blur as you slowly got closer and closer to the edge, you felt pathetic for being unable to control yourself but the need you had felt throughout the long time of distance from your husband was overwhelming you.
“wanna cum, baby? mh, please, come for me, hm? make a mess, i don’t care. just make yourself feel good on my cock. i’ll come deep inside of you if you do, angel; gonna give you that baby we always wanted, hm? how does that sound, sweetheart?”, he babbled, eyes rolling back as he, too, got closer to his orgasm. “gonna fill you up so good, angel, just make me proud and come for me.”
it was as if on cue when you suddenly shuddered and lost all control of your body for a moment. the dizzying pleasure was overwhelming every fiber of your body as you couldn’t hold yourself up anymore and just slumped down on his body, hugging him as carefully as you could.
you clenching around him so tightly triggered his own release as he let out a groan, finally coming buried deep inside of you.
“i missed this. i missed you, ajax. much more than i could ever put into words”, you whispered. he chuckled softly, nodding.
“same for me, angel. i missed you a lot and am so happy i’m back with you now”, he replied in a slightly breathless but content and happy tone. “and perhaps… we can focus throughout my time off in recovery on us and… maybe attempt for the baby we always wanted? her highness gave me the go for as much time off as i require and… i don’t know… that was all i was thinking of all this time.”
“well… in that case…”, you started, biting your lip in excitement. “i have great news.”
you got off him, giggling as his cum trickled down your thighs, and grabbed the gift box you had prepared for him. he sat up confusedly, watching your every move until you returned to him and gave the box to him.
he opened the box and inspected the insides as he picked up the baby shoes and the positive pregnancy test result from your doctor and looked at you with a confused gaze in his eyes. as the realization hit, his eyes teared up and he smiled so brightly.
“are you…?”
you nodded excitedly and giggled when he touched your tummy and you saw the happy tears roll down his cheeks. “i went to the doctor when i just couldn’t stop feeling nauseous and constantly throwing up. and then he just… confirmed my suspicions actually. i had a feeling it might be a pregnancy but i just didn’t want to… believe it, i guess? but yeah, uhm, this happened when i… well, we, had our… goodbye fuck”, you giggled as you couldn’t find a better wording. he laughed with you, shaking his head.
“and since you’re clear of any missions for the time being until you’re back to your duties, i thought this was the perfect moment to tell you.”
“you made me the happiest man right now, baby. wait… does my family know?”, he chuckled. “they do, don’t they? that’s why teucer sent me a letter saying that you got a surprise for me, hm?”
you giggled as you nodded. “i did tell him not to tell you anything but he asked if he could at least do that. and the thought of teasing you all the way over here was too tempting.”
“you’re such a fucking minx. i love you, so much”, he mumbled as he pulled you into a hug, cuddling as you relaxed in his arms. “another question… did the doctor clear you for sex? i hope this wasn’t too much on you just now. god, now i feel terrible for talking you into–”
“shh, you didn’t force me or anything. i’m fine. the doctor said it’s alright”, you giggled, kissing him gently on the cheek. “let’s sleep a little, huh? let me grab a blanket quickly and let’s sleep.”
once you cleaned yourself up and grabbed a blanket, you laid down next to your already sleeping husband, hugging him as you, too, slowly fell asleep in the comfort of his arms and finally were able to sleep properly through one night with no worries in your mind.

None of this was planned or thought through. Just happened. Your introduction to House Lannister just…happened. Some would say you were lucky, others that you were cursed to have to deal with this family, but none of that really mattered. It didn't matter because you're with them and they won't let you.
Contrary to what many people think, your family was already close in the right measure to the Lannisters, your family was from a House Vassal of the Lannisters so you already had a connection, but it wasn't really strong or similar to what it became in the next few years. Your mother was a close friend of Joanna's and both of them shared the pregnancy, you grew up alongside the twins and that was something that solidified the bond between the three of you.
You, Cersei and Jamie were inseparable. Though Tywin was initially apprehensive about this relationship, Joanna eased her husband's concerns by demonstrating how much she adored you too. It was quite common to see the three of you playing together at Casterly Rock for everyone's amusement. The three of you were never apart, and Cersei sulked when she was forced to say goodbye to you. She hated it.
Tywin was never really close to you, it wasn't because he had anything against you or anything, he was just distant. But that all changed when tragedy struck your family and you were forced to flee to the protection of the Lannisters. Your parents had apparently insulted the Mad King and, as a form of punishment, he had given orders to burn your family. You were the only one to survive because you were protected by Tywin and Joanna. They were your family now. Whether you want to or not.
Cersei was over the moon when she heard you were her sibiling now. And Jamie couldn't be happier to finally have you with them, really with them. Joanna didn't mind, she was happy and she really adored you and was quick to refer to you as hers, Tywin tried to be rational and the voice of reason saying you'd just stay with them until everything worked out, but nothing would work out, not after he became as obsessed with you as the rest of your family.
Joanna was a loving and very kind mother, she absolutely adored you and spoiled you in spades. You were allowed to do whatever you wanted and get away with no punishment. She tried to fight her growing obsession, she really tried out of consideration for her late friend but when you called her ''mother'' for the first time, there was no going back. You were hers from that moment on. She loves spending time with you, reading or doing whatever you like.
Tywin was an authoritative figure and that has never changed over the years, he has only the best for you in mind and that's why he is so strict, but he has a soft side that shows only to his wife and you. He tries to be as tough as his wife doesn't even try, but he will always give in to you. Especially if you look at him with tears in your eyes, his heart melts right there and he does what you ask on the spot. Just like Joanna, you can get away with whatever you do because to him you could never do wrong. You were perfect, and anyone who dared to disagree would find it no good to cross Tywin Lannister.
Jamie is the quietest of his family, he is the understanding brother with your feelings and is always there to protect and take care of you. He is the most protective of his family and he is very suspicious of anyone who tries to get too close to you. He will get into fights for you, feeling proud and triumphant when he gets your support during a fight. Jamie adores you so much, you're the closest thing to an understanding brother he's ever had and he'd be damned if he let anyone take you away. You were a Lannister and always would be.
Cersei is the most possessive and greedy of her family, she will do anything to get your attention and will fly into a rage if she doesn't get it. She hates sharing you with anyone other than her and her twin brother. Cersei might even see you as she sees Jamie, as an extension of herself and not really a person. Like a possession. Something that belongs to her and she's not the type to share. She loves spending time with you, talking, gossiping or just enjoying your company.
The whole family was happy, everyone adored you and you adored them. Everything was perfect. Tywin and Joanna were your loving parents and Cersei and Jamie your mischievous and clingy siblings. Everything was perfect like it's never been before. Until Joanna got pregnant again. Everyone was happy about her pregnancy, including you who were longing for a younger sibling. Cersei wasn't really happy about it all, seeing as you seemed to spend more time with mom than with her because of the pregnancy. Jamie had no problem with that, not like her sister, and just enjoyed this period of Joanna's life.
When the day of delivery finally came, it was difficult and painful, you were there the whole time and you saw Joanna Lannister die. Your mother. It was as if your world had collapsed, not just yours, but Tywin and the twins' as well. You welcomed with joy Tyrion, but your father and sibilings did not. They rejected him, treating him like nothing and blaming him for Joanna's death. During the long period of mourning, you were the only company Tywin sought out. You tried to comfort him and seek solace for yourself, you were the only one to witness the Lord of Casterly Rock's vulnerability.
You were Tyrion's only constant companion as he grew up, constantly despised by his family and those around him for being a dwarf, he clung to you more and more. You were the only person who really cared for him, the one who convinced Tywin and Cersei to act with a modicum of decency around Tyrion, at least while you're around.
Tyrion is the most abrasive of his family regarding his obsession with you, he knows very well that his feelings are wrong, to say the least, but he tries to control as much as he can, although he can't help but be so attached to you. He craves your attention and approval as he grows up and even as an adult that hasn't changed. He wants your approval, if he can't get it from his father then he wants his. He is very kind to you, but he is still a Lannister, and may the Seven have mercy on anyone who dares to harm you, for Tyrion would be sure to ruin them utterly.
All Lannisters are obsessed with you in their own way and have their own infighting, Tywin and Cersei want to keep you away from Tyrion as they are sure Tyrion will be your undoing, Jamie is happy to see that you care too about your brother and he makes sure you spend your days with him and Tyrion, much to the chagrin of your father and sister. They all fight each other and wouldn't mind killing each other to have you. But everything changes when there is a threat against you and they all quickly join together to get rid of that threat quickly and painfully. May the Seven forbid anything to happen to you, for you can be sure the whole family would go wild and most likely blame each other.
There are rumors that Tywin supported Robert Baratheon because of a personal revenge, some say it was because of what the Mad King did for your dead family, others say it's because Rhaegar insulted him. Rhaegar insulted him by wanting to take you as his spouse instead of Cersei, and Tywin could not allow that. He would not allow his beloved child to be taken from him. And Cersei agreed with that completely, she didn't want you to marry and leave her, Jamie didn't seem to mind too much but he doesn't like the idea of being taken away from you, as long as you were happy he would be fine. Tyrion is the most selfless and says that if you ever want to marry, he will support you, as long as it is someone he has highly valued. You are a Lannister and therefore you must have only the best and your family will ensure that. They promise you.

Wayfaring Stranger
Tumblr media
PREMISE: After your husband refuses to check a concerning sound outside, you do it yourself only to find a beautiful stranger bloodied up on the beaten road beneath moonlight. The events that follow soon after turn your once quiet world on its head.
DISCONTINUED
A/N: Forgive me if there are typos or confusing sentences. I was high asf writing this and I am high asf posting this. I have a series outline posted on my page right before this post, idk how link it, I’ll figure it out sometime. I’m releasing another Ellie fic tomorrow, it’s a modern AU and will be two parts. As always, thanks for reading!
WARNING: Murder, mentions of violence and injuries
The night hung heavy over the isolated homestead, a sea of inky darkness punctuated only by the sparse glow of stars scattered across the expansive canvas of the western sky. You, wrapped in a weathered shawl, stepped cautiously onto the creaking wood floorboards leading to your bedroom window. The pristine planks groaned under the subtle weight of your movement, echoing through the stillness of the night. "Sawyer, did you hear that?" You ask, turning your head to look at your husband who lay with his back to you, His blonde curls falling upon the satin pillowcases. "Sawyer!" You hiss, trying to capture his attention.
"It's just some cattle," He dismissed, not bothering to look at you; in fact, he pulled the covers even farther up his figure to conceal himself from you.
"Can you go look?"
"Why would I do that?" He groaned, it was a genuine question. He couldn't figure out why you would want to investigate a concerning sound.
"Because it sounded like gunshots and screaming, someone could be hurt!"
"All the more reason to stay inside."
"Well, I'm going to go see what it is if you refuse to." You spat, grabbing the oil lamp from the bedside stand and using your shawl to clear it of debris. You swipe a match across its box, watching it ignite, small sparks dancing around your fingertips. You move the match to light the exposed part of the wick before blowing it out and discarding it on the spruce floors.
"Okay, don't get hurt," He said flat, nuzzling back into the feather pillows.
A solitary oil lamp, its flame shifting with every step, cast feeble shadows that clung to the edges of the wall like silent sentinels. Under the flickering light, you made your way down the stairs and slipped on a pair of worn leather boots, dusty from the day's toil. As your boots met the uneven wooden surface of the porch, you shivered, you hadn't anticipated just how cold it would be.
The air was crisp, carrying the scent of sagebrush and the distant whispers of the unseen nocturnal creatures that inhabited the wilderness. A coyote's distant howl painted the night with an eerie soundtrack, a reminder that the untamed landscape surrounding your home was both beautiful and treacherous.
As you descended the porch steps, your eyes, accustomed to the darkness, scanned the horizon. The landscape unfolded before you in nothing but shadows and silhouettes, the distant outlines of distant hills and mesas barely visible beneath the cosmic tableau above. The isolation of your homestead, far removed from the flickering lights of the town, cocooned you in an otherworldly silence, a solitude that carried the weight of the untamed frontier.
You looked back towards your home as you moved down the dirt road; weathered limestone walls, adorned with ornate ironwork, bore witness to years of harsh sun, and dust storms, though the relentless passage of time wasn't easy to spot as Sawyer had constant maintenance on it. Standing proudly against the dark backdrop of endless prairie, the mansion's presence was a testament to opulence in the rugged west. The home sat on the top of a hill, the trip down being somewhat steep, though the main path was easy to trek, other ways down would send you tumbling.
A soft breeze rustled through the grass dunes, creating a gentle whistle that you liked to believe carried every secret ever whispered in the town.
With a deep breath, you ventured beyond the perimeter of the homestead, your silhouette becoming one with the night. The crunch of your footsteps on the gravel path echoed faintly, a lullaby for the wilderness that watched over you. You move with hesitation, trying to consider that your husband may be right and you should've ignored the clash and tucked yourself back into the king-sized bed, despite this, you keep moving, leaving only the echoes of your presence behind.
You were surrounded by almost nothing but darkness, you could only see the shapes of rocks and cacti reflecting the moonlight along with whatever was immediately around you, thanks to the shine of the oil lamp.
Writhing in the rocky dirt path you saw a figure. It hadn't been an animal or an article of clothing that somehow found its way to you, it had been the slender silhouette of a person, just as you suspected, someone was hurt. As you carefully approached you could hear their shaky breathes that made you sure it was a woman. Her chest rose and sunk as she shuddered in the cold air; she was soaked through with blood, you had never seen someone in worse shape. "Ma'am?" You ask, your heartbeat speeding up. She looked visibly startled, trying to grip the ground and crawl away from you out of fear. "I'm not going to hurt you, I promise, I can help you." Your eyebrows furrowed in skepticism at the sight before you.
"No," She shook her head, the woman could hardly get words out of her mouth, just ragged breaths.
"You're shivering," You slowly crouched down, gingerly sitting her up, she winced in pain when you did so "I'm sorry," You hooked an arm around her waist while she slid an arm behind your shoulders, she used her other arm to clutch at a wound in her stomach, you ignored your shaking at her additional weight leaning against your own, you just had to get her up the hill. "SAWYER!" You shouted as loud as your lungs allowed you "SAWYER!" You screamed again, waiting for your husband to be standing on the porch.
You hauled the woman to your porch just as Sawyer finally emerged "What do you- WHAT IS HAPPENING!" His annoyance quickly turned to panic when he saw who was clinging onto you, behind him the door was hanging open letting the light from the foyer break apart some of the darkness. In the light other than the moon you finally got a better look at her. You couldn't even tell what colour her hair was beneath the blood matting it to her head, streaks of red ran down her freckled face and soaked almost every inch of clothing she adorned.
"Ride into town, get the doctor and bring him back here." You ordered, pushing past him, into the living room where you laid her gingerly onto the white gold crested sofa, feeling relief of the added weight gone.
"Well, there goes my coach-
"Sawyer!" You yell again, urging him to leave, he finally does, slamming the door behind him. You run around, hastily lighting candles to brighten the room; you bring a bucket of clean water to her side, drenching a rag in the water, you bring it to her face and begin to wipe away the blood. You noticed her shudder at the touch of cold water on her raw flesh "It's okay," You muttered, in an attempt to comfort her. You weren't quite sure what to say, she must've been terrified but it's not like you were feeling okay with the whole situation, you just didn't want to worsen anything.
More than anything, you wanted to know what had happened to this woman. Of course, you weren't going to ask at that moment, you didn't have to ask though, it's like she read your mind.
"I'm, Ellie," She said between ragged heaves. Just when you were beginning to make up your own backstory for the wayfaring stranger. The picture you had formed in your mind was that her name was Maybelle and she had taken a loan from a gang, and gotten herself into some serious trouble. Nope. Her name was Ellie and what was most logical was that she had been robbed by bandits.
You smile softly, trying to put her at ease. You thought back to all of the ways your mother used to calm you and your little sister "Well, Ellie, doctors gonna be here any minute and you'll be stitched up, good."
Ellie could've sworn that she made you up inside her head. She had heard stories of people on the brink of death imagining an angel guiding them to security just to be told when they recovered that person never existed. She was sure that she would get some rest and would wake up in some clinic with you nowhere to be found. You looked like an angel too, features illuminated in the soft candlelight. "Are you real?"
Her words had you thinking she was ebbing closer to the brink of death, blood loss making her woozy. "I sure am," You said, indulging her "I can tell from your accent that you're from as far west as west goes."
"That you would be right about, ma'am," She smiled with half-lidded eyes, her head lulling back and forth from the spot it rested on the sofa arm.
You soaked the cloth again, wringing it out in the bucket, the once clear water already becoming a foggy reddish hue. You used your free hand to push hair away from Ellie's face, with your other hand you held the cloth and gently wiped the blood from her forehead, clearing the way for you to see more of her freckles. "There we go," You moved your free hand to the back of her head to support it, now using the rag to wash away at the grime on her cheeks and button nose. "I can finally see that pretty face."
"pretty," She murmured, eyelids fluttering.
In the dimly lit room, shadows danced across the walls like ghostly spectres, and the air hung heavy with the metallic scent of blood. The wounded figure lay sprawled on the once pristine white sofa, the echo of a recent struggle still reverberating through the stillness. Moonlight filtered through tattered curtains, casting an eerie glow on the scene of desperation.
A crimson pool formed beneath Ellie, soaking into Sawyer's beloved couch. The rhythmic breathing echoed in the silence, a macabre lullaby that seemed to accompany the fading pulse of life. Ellie against the encroaching darkness, the battle for consciousness etched across a face pale and drawn.
Every breath was a laborious effort, a struggle against the body's betrayal. Her once vibrant eyes, now dull and distant, glistened with a mixture of pain and determination. Beads of sweat clung to a furrowed brow, evidence of the fevered fight within.
Trembling hands clutched at the wound, desperate to stem the relentless flow of a life's essence escaping through her fingers. Each heartbeat sent fresh waves of pain through the body, threatening to pull the fragile thread of consciousness even thinner. The air seemed to thicken with the weight of mortality, and every passing moment whispered of the inevitability of the abyss.
Amid this struggle, fragmented memories flickered like distant stars in a fading night sky. Faces and places, fragments of life now hanging in the balance, flashed before weary eyes. The pulse, once strong and steady, faltered like a distant drumbeat threatening to fade into silence.
Yet, amidst the darkness, a fierce will to survive burned like a defiant flame. The wounded soul summoned reserves of strength, drawing upon reserves untapped in ordinary times. Each laboured breath was a testament to an indomitable spirit, a refusal to yield to the encroaching void.
The room itself seemed to pulse with a quiet urgency, bearing witness to a solitary struggle against the inevitable. Shadows clung to the edges of consciousness, threatening to pull the wounded figure into an abyss from which there might be no return. She saw your lips moving but the words fell upon death ears, she couldn't make out whatever you were frantically telling her, all she knew was that she was tired and she couldn't fight to stay awake much longer.

Though Ellie had believed you to be an angel, you proved yourself to be real.
As the first rays of the Southern sun began to pierce through ornate curtains, casting a warm golden glow upon the opulent bedroom, she stirred beneath the layers of soft, embroidered linens. The mattress cradled her like a sanctuary, and the pillows plumped to perfection, offered a haven for dreams. The room itself exuded a rustic elegance, with intricately carved wooden furniture standing proudly against the walls adorned with rich tapestries. The air carried the subtle scent of cedar, a nod to the untamed wilderness just beyond the ornate windows. Lace curtains danced in the morning breeze, revealing a breathtaking view of the rolling hills and vast plains. The room, a luxurious oasis in the heart of the frontier, embraced her in a cocoon of comfort, providing a stark contrast to the rugged landscape outside. As she slowly opened her eyes, the lavish details of the room unfolded like a dream, and for a moment, she forgot about the events of the night before, until the throbbing pain of stitched wounds hit her once more.
Ellie was no longer in the drenched clothes from the previous night and was no longer nose-blinded by the sickly sweet stench of blood. Though she didn't remember everything from the night before, she remembered you
What had woken her up was the incredible smell filling whatever room she was in. Cast-iron fried bacon, its savoury perfume mingling with the tantalizing scent of freshly steeped tea that wafted through the air. The aroma of flapjacks, golden and perfectly griddled, hung thick, inviting all who caught wind of it to indulge in a culinary celebration of the morning.
A bounty of farm-fresh eggs scrambled to perfection, adorned the table alongside a bowl of vibrant, sun-ripened tomatoes and sliced avocados, their colours mirroring the vivid hues of the sunrise. A basket brimming with flaky biscuits, warm and buttery, beckoned with promises of melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
In the center of it all, a heaping pile of wild berries and succulent peaches offered a burst of sweetness, a reminder of nature's abundance even in the rugged expanse of the frontier. A jar of homemade preserves, bursting with the flavours of sun-ripened fruits, awaited its turn to grace the breakfast spread. All of it meticulously placed on the breakfast tray beside her.
She had never been blessed enough to get such a thoughtful breakfast, or meal, or anything for that matter. Ellie had grown up around ruffians who showed love through gunpowder and chewing tobacco.
Every bite tasted just as good as she had anticipated, most people wouldn't have thought it smart to eat a meal in a stranger's home that magically appeared to wake her up and maybe Ellie wasn't smart but she sure was hungry.
In the corridors, you hummed along to a song you used to sing on the piano when you were a girl while you rearranged and tidied bits and pieces of your shared home so everything was in its place. Your ears pricked up at the sound of rustling, it could have only been one thing. You knocked on the door of one of your guest rooms.
"Yeah?" She said through a mouthful of food.
You pushed the spruce door open, closing it behind you "Good mornin'," You smiled "Or afternoon, I suppose. Feelin' any better?"
She felt embarrassment well up in her throat, there you were looking so effortlessly stunning and she was a half-baked mess laying in one of your beds, swallowing back the food you slaved away to prepare. "Ma'am, I am so very sorry for imposin' on ya' last night, I will be out of your hair in no time."
"Stay as long as ya' need," You dismissed her "Truth be told, it gets a little lonely in this house, Sawyer goes away all day and when he's home he's too tired to speak, so it's just me."
She furrowed her eyebrows "You own a house this big and you haven't got a maid or servant or something?"
You shook your head "We used to have one but Sawyer fired her, said I needed some chores to keep me busy. We do have a stable boy, name's Jerry, nice kid just can't speak English all that well. He comes by a couple of days a week and has tea with me during his breaks. I won't keep ya' here if you don't want to though."
"I'd just feel too guilty eatin' your food and givin' you nothing," Didn’t seem guilty one minute ago. She moved the tray of food from its spot on her lap to the empty bedside table. She began to push the covers off of her, trying her best to ignore the ache in her bones. When her feet hit the ground she felt extreme agony course through her body like a million little knives swimming through her bloodstream. She crumbled over into herself on the ground.
You rushed over to help her back up "Easy," You say, your tone soft "You're hurt, remember?"
Ellie couldn't even stand on her own at that moment, her legs shook with each step she tried to take, you leading her gingerly. "Can't feel a thing," She lied through gritted teeth.
"Are you sure?"
"Nope, I need to sit back down," She said and you helped her to sit on the side of the cushioned bed. She couldn't remember feeling that weak for a very long time, not since she had been a child. Ellie almost wanted to laugh at how stupid she felt, needing you to help her take a few steps like she was elderly, instead, she looked up at you "How did I get so lucky as to have you take care of me?"
"Sometimes we just meet someone at the right time." You shrug. You were no longer able to bite back the question that had kept you up all night "If I may ask, what happened to you last night?"
She sighed, scootching herself back in the bed to get comfortable "I'm nothing more than a travelling merchant ya' see, last night while I was headed out of Palecliff, I was raided by a group of bandits, took my horse, my wagon, everything I've ever known gone in one night along with my dignity."
Your eyes went wide and you clasped a hand over your mouth "What did they look like?"
You had a million questions for her and you didn't waste time in showering her with them. It had been so long since you had someone to talk to, not your stoic husband, not a fourteen-year-old who didn't understand your language, but a woman your age who indulged your questions and laughed at your jokes, adding her witty remarks to them. When you married Sawyer it was like you were thrown into the life of someone you did not know, it went from sixteen-year-old you playing piano every night, serving food, chatting up locals to being isolated in a stark mansion on top of a hill, watching the ghost of what your life used to be from what felt like a cage. You were allowed to enter town once a month, beyond that you would sneak off to the creek and the far-off forest where there was no one to report to your husband, his father was the mayor so out of fear they would never keep their mouths shut.
It only made you ecstatic when Ellie had agreed to stay with the promise of doing house and stable work when she recovered to pay you back in whatever ways she could.
Mornings with Ellie began with the aroma of herbal tea and the comforting crackle of a wood-burning stove. You, now a dedicated caregiver, tended to the injured woman's wounds with gentle hands, your touch a balm for both body and soul.
Conversations flowed like the pages of a well-worn novel, each chapter revealing the layers of their respective histories. Shared laughter echoed through the homestead, a melody that resonated against the backdrop of the vast wild wind. In the quiet moments, as the injured woman gazed out of the window, she found peace in the sight of the rolling hills and endless skies.
Through the nuances of daily life—shared meals whispered confidences, and the unspoken understanding that transcended words—the two women became intertwined, bound to one another almost.
Sawyer wasn't fond of how his wife had come to spend her time. Something about the sound of her laughter echoing through the halls had angered him, knowing that he wasn't the one who made her laugh.
Sawyer, a figure of striking contradiction to his gentle and nurturing wife, cut a commanding presence beneath the harsh sunlight. His tousled locks, framed a face chiselled with the unforgiving lines of both nature and a life forged on the frontier. A mane of wheat-gold hair fell over piercing blue eyes, cold and calculating like the steel of a Colt revolver. His tall, lean form moved with the languid grace of a predator, exuding an effortless confidence that bordered on arrogance. Dressed in the finest of suits, Sawyer's appearance belied an innate cruelty that simmered beneath the surface. A well-defined jawline, framed by the hint of stubble, spoke of a man who had faced the harsh realities of the untamed West, and yet, it was the glint in his eyes that hinted at the darkness that mirrored the vast, shadowed canyons of the frontier. In the presence of Sawyer, the air seemed to thicken with an unspoken tension, a reminder that you belonged to him and him alone.
When Ellie had healed enough to hobble around the house and assist you with chores as well as join you and Sawyer at the dinner table, he had made sure to be vocal. "Ellie, I think you could ease up on the help a little as much as we appreciate it," He said across a table of food you spent hours preparing "I don't want my wife to forget to be grateful for the life that's been handed to her if she relaxes too much she just slips away into some progressive madness."
You look towards him, a subtle rage simmering inside of you "Sawyer, I'm not being ungrateful, I'm just tired from-
He raised a hand to stop your talking "I don't think we want those womanly emotions to get in the way, do we?"
You pushed yourself away from the table, slamming your serviette down and storming out.
Sawyer only chuckles at this, turning to look at Ellie who had found herself constantly having to bite her tongue around him "Just wait until she has children, she'll cry every day and make up even more things to complain about." Before Ellie, he had never felt such a sense of possession over you, typically he just treated you like an ornament.
All good things must come to an end and so they did; Ellie had healed almost completely after two months, the Southern winter had passed and spring was arriving. You both lied to yourself, pretending that it was still sensible for Ellie to be living in your house. You convinced her to let you take her to your favourite spot.
In the early embrace of spring, a hidden gem sat in the heart of nature—a beautiful creek that meandered through the landscape like a serpentine ribbon of liquid silver. The air, still sharp with the vestiges of winter, carried the invigorating scent of damp earth and awakening foliage. Along the banks, delicate shoots of vibrant green grass peeked through the remnants of melting snow, heralding the arrival of a season draped in renewal.
The creek itself murmured a gentle melody, a harmonious symphony composed by the bubbling riffles and the soft percussion of water cascading over smooth stones. The water, crystal clear and pure, reflected the azure canvas of the early spring sky, creating a mirror that captured the fleeting beauty of budding trees and the emerging wildflowers that lined the water's edge.
Beneath the surface, the creek harboured secrets—shimmering pebbles, polished by the tender caress of the water's passage, and tiny aquatic organisms that stirred with the promise of life. The sunlight filtered through the burgeoning leaves above, casting dappled patterns on the creek's surface like nature's stained glass adorning a cathedral of serenity.
On the banks, clusters of delicate wildflowers began to unfurl their petals, their hues ranging from the soft pastels of violets and blues to vivid bursts of yellow and pink, something you didn’t see much in the South. The air resonated with the hum of awakening insects, drawn by the allure of this watercourse oasis. Overhead, the first tentative flights of butterflies painted the air with ephemeral strokes of colour.
As the creek wound its way through the landscape, it carved miniature canyons and pools, inviting creatures to quench their thirst and revel in the burgeoning abundance of the season. The stones lining the creek bed, smoothed by centuries of flowing water, became stepping stones for adventurous critters and skipping stones for the whimsical heart.
The beauty of the early spring creek lay not just in its visual splendour, the soothing melody of flowing water, the caress of a gentle breeze, the fragrance of blossoming life, and the dance of sunlight playing upon its liquid surface. This pristine sanctuary embodied the very essence of renewal, inviting all who encountered it to immerse themselves in the sublime poetry of the changing seasons.
The pair of you just sat in silence, neither wanted to say what had to be said so you decided to drown beneath the weight of the words that went unsaid.
"I can't stay here anymore," Ellie said, her voice hardly above a whisper. She sat on the lush grass with her knees pulled into her chest. Her chestnut hair, the colour of fresh earth, cascaded in loose waves around her shoulders, occasionally stirred by the whispering winds that danced across the plains. Almond-shaped hazel eyes, reminiscent of the vast prairie skies, held a depth that spoke of an untamed spirit. Ellie's sun-kissed complexion bore the subtle traces of a life lived under the relentless Western sun, and a scattering of freckles across her cheeks hinted at days spent amidst the open range. Clad in practical yet well-worn attire she had borrowed from you, her hands, calloused from the rigours of the mysterious life she lived before meeting you, spoke of a resilience that mirrored the vast landscapes she navigated. In the unforgiving wilderness, where strength and grace were as vital as the air one breathed.
"I know," You said back just as quietly, you both looked at the creek ahead of you, not able to meet each other's eyes.
"I don't want to leave you."
"I can't leave." You said, a newfound sense of sadness washing over you. It had just hit that you would return to the dull life you lived before her, days filled with nothing more than silence, loneliness, and regret.
"I wish you could," She picked at the grass, unsure of what to do with her hands.
Silence stretched between you like birds on a wire "Just stay, one more night and then I'll let you go for good, I won't pester you anymore."
She smiled softly "Sure, I'll stay another night."

You had left town at the crack of dawn that morning to gather supplies for Ellie before she left, and the night before you had babbled on and on to Sawyer about how excited you were for your plans before you turned in for the night. You had used the only day that month that you were permitted to leave to do something special for Ellie. After paying a brief visit to your father and sister you began the trek back up.
After you returned home from the short trip you had intended to go into the house and bundle up your goodies for Ellie but you had been detoured by a sound from the stable. You hadn't expected Jerry to be there, it was one of your days to man the stables, not his. Despite the confusion, you followed the crashes and bangs from the stables.
As you approached the stables, the familiar sounds of horses' hooves and distant howls of coyotes were overshadowed by an unfamiliar murmur and groan. A knot tightened in your stomach, foreboding lingering in the air like an impending storm. Pushing open the creaking door, your gaze fell upon a sight that froze her to the core.
In the muted light of the stable lanterns, you saw your husband, a man you slept beside every. night, entwined with another woman. The hay-strewn floor became an unwitting witness to the betrayal unfolding before your disbelieving eyes. The flickering lantern light cast shadows on their entangled forms, revealing a scene that would forever alter the course of your existence.
The air hung heavy with tension, the silence punctuated only by the stifled gasp that escaped your lips. The two figures, caught in an embrace that spoke of deceit, turned to face her with eyes filled with shock. The other woman, a fleeting presence in your life until this moment, bore the weight of her transgressions. Horror pushed tears from your eyes "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?" You screamed, watching as the two shamefully and frantically dressed themselves.
"Can you blame me?" Sawyer buttoned up his trousers "You're always sad or angry around me, I love you, I just need a break sometimes-
"You make me feel that way!" You felt sick to your stomach like you were going to vomit "I have turned myself inside out trying to love you but I don't even like you!"
You could see your words hit him when his jaw began to tense up, the familiar tell that he would be raging soon "I don't even think you like me!"
"I don't!" You shout "I hate you I wake up every morning and I feel so empty when I have to look into those dull eyes of yours!"
"You won't even touch me."
"You only show me a sliver of kindness when you want your dick taken care of." You spat, the look of complete rage on his face made you smile; that was when he struck you. His backhand landed firmly on the side of your face, forcing you to stumble back, shuddering at the stinging sensation.
He put his hands up, trying to show you that he wouldn't hit you again "I'm sorry-
Before you could finish your sentence you were screaming, grabbing the shovel from its resting place on the stable wall and slamming it across his head. Sawyer didn't even stand for a moment, the second the shovel made contact with his head, he flopped to the ground. You audibly squeaked, watching blood ooze from the newly formed gash in his head.
"Sawyer?" You crouched down, poking at his limp body with the shovel to see if he would shift. Nothing. His eyes fell lifeless along with the rest of him. The shovel clattered to the ground as you brought both hands to cover your mouth.
You stood over his body, your actions registering in your head, you had killed him. You had taken the life of someone.
You were only snapped away from your thoughts when you heard a thud. Your head snapped to where the sound had come from, only to find the black-haired woman he was cheating on you with stumbling back up from her fall, she cast a look back at you, terror written across her pale face.
Feet moving faster than your mind, you ran after her, she had already got a good headstart on you. She was beginning to rush towards one of the steeper sides of the hill, you knew you wouldn't catch her in time; so instead of pursuing her, you grabbed the gun off the front porch and aimed it at the woman.
The metallic tang of gun oil hung in the air as you cradled the shotgun, the weight unfamiliar in your hands, you were only going off of what your father had shown you all those years ago. The overwhelming sun cast long shadows across the open range, painting the world in hues of amber and gold. With trepidation etched on her face, you squared your shoulders and took a deep breath. The gun felt cool against your trembling fingertips as she aimed at a distant woman. The tension in the air was palpable as you squeezed the trigger, the gunshot echoing through the vast expanse. The recoil startled you, and a mix of exhilaration and uncertainty danced in your eyes. At that moment, as the echoes of the shot reverberated through the silence of the frontier, you felt a seismic shift watching the raven-haired woman fall, now rolling down the hill.
Still gripping the shotgun, you ran over to the spot where you had seen the woman collapse.
When you bore down the hill, her body was nowhere to be found.
Your head shot up to search the plains for her but you didn't see a sign of where she had gone, aside from the small pool of blood, seeping into dead grass where she had initially fallen.
"What's wrong?" Ellie shouted, running over to where you stood, frozen in fear for what lay ahead of you "I heard a gunshot."
"Ellie I-" You were stiff where you stood, grasping the shotgun so tight that your knuckles had turned white "Sawyer was cheating on me in the stables and I saw him and I was just so mad that I-I hit him with a shovel, I didn't think he would die, I just wanted him to be as afraid of me as I was of him. That woman he was with, she saw me kill him so I shot her but she got away and now I'm good as dead."
Ellie didn't seem as mortified as you thought she would be, she took the shotgun away from you, slinging an arm around your waist with her free hand and guiding you back to the house "It's okay, not as bad as it could be, you took care of me now it's my turn to take care of you."
"It's not okay, I'm gonna be strung up at the gallows in front of everyone, I killed the mayors son." A breath hitched in your throat "My dad's gonna watch me hang."
"Only if they catch us," Ellie said nonchalantly, steering you up the porch "Pack what you need, we'll be out of here in no time. It only feels fair to tell you now that I’m not actually a travelling merchant.”

Reader being obsessed with her husband James March’s scars on his back.
Tumblr media
You stabbed me?
pairing: James March x fem!reader
a/n: i need to dance with James while also trying to stab him (tension djdhhsh) in a room full of oblivious people. its simply a must.
word count: 2847
summary: You admire James’ scars and get a flashback on how the both of you met
warnings: sexual tension🤭, a bit of angst, swearing, suggestive language, oh and murder & violence ig
“James?” you called out and you looked at yourself in the mirror as the crimson fabric hugged your body. As you called out your lover's name, you heard him hum as he made his way over to you with his upper body exposed. “Yes, my dearest?”
“Can you zip up my dress?” You adjusted your hair to your side to expose your bare back, and James made his way behind you. He stood tall as his fingers brushed your lower back, and you felt shivers along your spine as he gently zipped the zipper to the end while looking at you in the mirror in front of you. You were wearing a wine colored sleeveless dress with a slit, and it clung to your body perfectly, showing your curves while still looking classy. It was a gift from James and it was your favorite dress. You only wore it on special occasions, and today was one of them.
You were both headed to a speakeasy downtown, and you were really excited. Women were allowed to vote and they were allowed to be much more loose than before, which meant that women were now also allowed to attend speakeasy’s. Plus, there was alcohol. Ever since the Prohibition law, it was way harder to get a good drink.
James was beyond thrilled to have you by his side. In the saloons, he’d talk about you and what a gem you were, but now he could finally show those men that you were the true angel of Los Angeles.
Once James was done zipping up your dress, he planted a kiss on your bare shoulder, and cupped the back of your neck. He gripped it with force whilst he planted more kisses, and his other hand was planted on your waist. “You look divine, Mrs March.”
“Why thank you, Mr March.” you turned around to face him, and you looked up at him and placed your hands on his chest. Your nails scratched against his skin, and he grinned at you as you leaned in to give him a kiss.
You planned on leaning back after a few seconds, but he had other plans as he cupped the back of your head, holding you into place. You let out a soft moan, which led to James getting a little more rough, and your hands moved to his back, scratching deliciously against his shoulder blades.
Kissing James for a few seconds just wasn't an option.
You only pulled away from his lips to kiss his neck, and his grip on your neck tightened as you sucked the sensitive skin. You knew that if you didn’t stop now, that your dress would be on the ground and his pants would be down.
But you didn't want to stop.
However, you two had a speakeasy to attend to, and so you pulled back and breathed heavily while pressing your forehead against his while his hands snaked around your waist.
“We still have about twenty minutes.” He whispered and he grinned. You knew what he was implying but you wanted to tease him. “Is that so?”
“Yeah, how about we skip the speakeasy and go to bed instead. I love your dress but it would look better on the floor.” You held his hair in your hands and tugged lightly, making him groan and you leaned forward to his ear. “Mhmm,” You waited a few seconds before continuing. “No.”
You pulled back and his lips were in a thin line, yet his eyes stood playful and you gave him a smile. “I don't want to ruin my makeup.”
“Yet your lipstick is painted on my neck.” He motioned for the red spot on his skin, and you chuckled. There was indeed a red spot on his neck, and he looked devilishly handsome right now. His hair was tousled and a few strands covered his forehead, the veins in his muscles were prominent, and his chest was marked with your recent scratches that attacked the skin.
Your chuckle, however, faded when he suddenly grabbed your chin, forcing you to look up at him in the eyes, and he rubbed some lipstick off of your skin with his thumb that got lost in the make out session. He then hooked his thumb on your bottom lip and slowly dragged it down.
“You know the words, darling. For if you change your mind. They will understand if we arrive later than expected,” the corners of his lips curled up. “Or not at all.”
When he saw you were speechless, he smiled at you and let go of your lip as he moved back to the bed and sat on the end with his back facing yours. He grabbed a cigarette from his pocket and placed it between his lips, and he grabbed a lighter on the nightstand and took a deep inhale.
Your hair was a little messy from the way he grabbed you, and your mind was fogged with the intoxication of your husband’s actions. It felt euphoric and it took every ounce of your body to not give in and jump on him.
However, you were strong enough to set it aside, and you fixed your hair and makeup in the mirror before turning around and looking at your husband who was still smoking with his back turned to you.
His back was broad and there were scratches scattered on his skin. Some were from you, from the previous nights the two of you had spent in your shared bedroom. But there were also other marks on his back that you didn't recognize. You saw it once or twice when you two would shower together and when you’d wash his back, but he always seemed reluctant when you’d touch them or ask about them.
You were curious by nature, and even though you didn't want to pry for information, you wished he would share it with you. You knew that he’d open up to you about it when he would be ready, and once he was ready, you’d open your arms for him to show him comfort. But the last time you mentioned it was months ago, just after the wedding, and so you felt like one more try couldn't hurt.
If he decided however to not speak up about it now, you’d happily wait until he was ready.
You slowly walked towards him and to his oblivion, you kept staring at his back. But what you didn't know was that James felt your eyes on him minutes ago, and he smirked as the cigarette was between his fingers.
“Like what you see?” he chuckled and you clenched your jaw and rolled your eyes. “I actually do.”
“Yeah?” he turned to look at you and you sat on the bed behind him and started massaging his shoulders. James March was a strong and powerful man, nothing could drag him down. However, he had one weakness, and that was your touch. He was like ice, but your skin on his would melt him instantly.
He gave into your soothing motions on his shoulders and closed his eyes.
You moved your hands a bit lower till they reached his shoulder blades. Testing the waters, you carefully traced one of the markings. He froze, and you kept massaging his stiffened muscles. His back was tense, and this time you were the one to plant a kiss on his shoulder.
He didn't say anything and instead let out a sigh. He gently grabbed your palm that rested on his shoulders, and for a second you thought that he wanted to pull you away. But instead, he guided your fingers to another mark on his back. You again, traced it, and you leaned in to give it a kiss.
“My father was a true believer,” he began, and you stopped as he continued. “Ate a little cracker, drank the wine every sunday. And he was the meanest son of a bitch you’ve ever seen.”
You gulped. James wasn’t one to use profanity often. You heard him sigh deeply and he huffed as he mentioned him. “Killed a cat for purring too loud.”
He took another inhale of his cigarette and bit the inside of his cheek. It was as if he was reliving everything over again. “He was Satan himself, disguised as an angel. It was a dance with the devil, and I kept playing with fire, that’s why he lashed out on me often.”
You brushed the pads of your fingers against the other markings, and again, you leaned in to give it a kiss. You wanted him to know that you were there for him in times like these, because these moments were rare. He usually puts up a mask to conceal his feelings, but you knew that once he let his guard down, that his vulnerable side was showing. You were supporting him in every way possible, even through the tough times, that’s why he felt comfortable enough with you to show his sensitive side.
“In those moments where he looked down on me, I… I-” he didn't know the words to describe it, and you gently rubbed his skin.
“You forgot how powerful you were.”
“Yeah,” he muttered and he clenched his jaw. “ I refuse to let my past get in the way of my success. I refuse to feel powerless like that again.”
You could really tell that he didn't want to think back about his past, about his father and you felt empathy. James was a person who loved power. He thrived knowing that he was one of the most powerful men in Los Angeles, and he felt like his scars were only a liability. He felt like it showed weakness.
“These scars radiate power, not weakness,” you began and he looked intrigued in what you had to say. “The wounds that were inflicted on your skin have healed, but there will always remain scars, both physically and mentally. It’s a sign that you’ve endured the torment of the world, the torment of your father. It’s a mark that shows that you're a survivor.” you almost whispered it, but it felt like a gunshot next to James’s ears. He smiled at your words, taking another inhale of his cigarette and you traced your finger down his back to his other scars.
He was thankful for you.
You stopped tracing your finger over his back when you reached another mark that was prominent on his side, and you chuckled when you remembered where it was from.
It was the scar he got when he first met you.
It was the summer of 26, and you had a mission. Find James March, and kill him. It was as easy as that, a simple task.
When you first entered the Grand room, it felt like the whole word went quiet. Everyone’s attention was on you, and everyone’s breath got caught up in their throat when they admired your physique. You held your chin high, and when you scanned the room, your eyes met the eyes of your target, James Patrick March. When he stared at you, he thought that you were the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on, and when you stared at him, you thought he was the most handsome man you had ever laid eyes on. He was infatuated with you, and you were infatuated with him. Which made the job a lot harder than you anticipated. Luckily you liked a challenge. Why not have fun when you're tasked to kill an aristocrat?
The first half of the night was basically you eyeing him from the other side of the room. He was talking to other ladies with beautiful and elegant flapper dresses and hand fans, however he didn't pay attention to any of them. He had a big name for himself and the women were practically lined up just to talk to him. They wanted to seduce him for his money and good looks. However he didn't fall for any of them. He knew their intentions, he was strictly here for business. Yet his eyes kept subconsciously moving towards you. You stood in the corner with wine in your hands, sipping while watching everything around you intently. Specifically James.
You had something mysterious and James was drawn to it.
Jazz music played in the background, and you had finally had enough of waiting for him to make the first move, and so as you made your way towards him. The ladies at James’ feet were long forgotten once you and James were standing in front of each other.
He gently grabbed your hand and kissed te back while holding eye contact, and you smiled at him as he introduced himself.
You could smell his expensive cologne and when he asked for a dance, the two of you swayed to the rhythm of the jazz music.
You had his body pressed against yours, and everyone around you had disappeared as you kept looking into his dark brown eyes. Your faces kept moving closer and closer, but each time his lips were merely touching yours, you’d pull away and leave him speechless.
He was strictly there for business, but the way you looked at him made him want to make an exception for mixing business with pleasure.
However, James wasn't stupid, he knew you were up to something. You didn't have a chaperone, you wore a practical and simple dress instead of something extravagant, and you had only set your interest in him the whole night. Your vibe was off, and it bugged him. It was the hard blade of a knife however that was pressed against his side that made him realize you were up to no good.
His grip on you had tightened and he had leaned in so that his lips were next to your ear whilst you two were still swaying on the music. Everyone else didn't have any clue what was going on. “What game are you playing here?” He tried to pull away from you but you pulled him in till your chests touched, and your red lips grinned as you looked up at him with mischievous eyes. “The one where I get my paycheck.”
That’s when you stabbed him in his side.
You felt joy as you reminiscenced while your fingers traced the scar, and James rubbed soothing motions with his thumb on your side. You somehow felt proud of the mark you left him.
“You were sloppy that night,” he began and you chuckled. “If you stabbed the blade 1 inch to the left, I would’ve been dead, yet you missed.”
“Well maybe it was my intention to not kill you that night, maybe I wanted to have some more fun with you before I’d slice your throat.”
“Yet you didn't,” you stood up from your seat on the bed, and moved to sit on his lap instead. Both of your legs were on one side of his leg and you placed your arm around his shoulder. His hand moved to your waist. “I did slice a throat, it just wasn’t yours.”
He grinned widely at your words and he closed his eyes and hummed in amazement when he replayed the scene in his head.
You and him had tried to kill each other multiple times that night, while still dancing. No one noticed what was happening, and the both of you challenged each other as you two were on the same skill level. After 60 minutes the both of you gave up on trying to kill each other, and you agreed to kill the person who hired you.
When James closed his eyes, he saw the sight of you on top of your client. You had red splattered all over your face and dress as the man gurgled in his own blood when you slit his throat. Your dress was white, which represented innocence. Which was ironic since you were the opposite of innocent. It was the most attractive thing James had seen, for him it was like a sexual awakening. He didn't even find it odd that he was turned on by the sight of you murdering someone.
He fell in love right then and there, and so he decided to stick around with you, and everything that followed was history. The scar that was left on his side was a reminder of how the two of you met. It was a romantic first encounter where the two of you tried to murder each other.
“That night, you killing that man was the most astonishing thing I have ever witnessed in my entire life.” He adjusted you in his lap so both of your legs were on either side of his. You hovered above his crotch and your hands were once again on his chest.
“Mhmm.” you kissed his neck.
“You looked magnificent. Your white dress was painted with blood. Your hair was messy as your hair fell out of your bun, your lipstick was smeared and your legs were bruised from the fight that we had when you stabbed me. The way you clutched the knife, the way you drew it to his throat, you looked seraphic, killing him.”
As he complimented you, you continued kissing his neck trailing more pecks to his collarbone and his hands moved to your neck. When you pressed yourself onto his crotch, he sucked in a deep breath.
“Darling,” he whispered as you pulled back. “What about the speakeasy?” He asked and he gave you a knowing look while raising his eyebrows. You grinned down at him while grabbing a fistful of his hair. “We got 10 more minutes, right?” he nodded and you bit your lip. “Well, I marked you as mine when I stabbed you 4 years ago,” you motioned for the scar on his side. “Now mark me as yours.”
“Anything for you, my dearest.” his hands moved to the zipper of your dress, and before you knew it, the fabric was lost somewhere on the ground.

You’re my happy place
husband!elijah mikaelson x wife!fem!reader
tags: fluff, happy ending, soft!elijah
a/n: if u guys even read this pls pls pls send me requests for fics u want me to write!! ok enjoy<3
You had spent the entire day at the compound waiting for Elijah and Nik to get back. They had gone on some stupid witch hunt again because Nik believed that the witches were plotting against him as usual.
You sat on the floor of the compound playing with baby hope when you hear the hurried footsteps of the two brothers and the stench of blood nearly made you vomit on the spot.
You hurriedly put Hope back in her cot before running to see if anyone was hurt. Nik looked like he had just committed mass murder but by the look in his eyes you knew better than to ask him what had happened. All you did was beckon hun closer and take a look to see if any of his injuries were major, thankfully he just looked like he had a bruised ego.
To the left of his Elijah stood in a ski liar state however he seemed to be clutching his side. You knew whenever Nik would put himself in dangerous situations your idiot of a husband would not be far behind, always looking out for his little brother.
You made your way to him slowly whilst looking over him to see if anywhere else seemed to be causing him pain, once it looked like his side was the only place he seemed to be clutching you sighed in relief.
As you reached him you carefully placed your hands on his face, he seemed to be avoiding your eyes and you somehow knew exactly why.
“Is that blood Eli?” You questioned harshly, you knew that when you both moved to New Orleans that the witch community wasn’t exactly fond of the Mikaelson family however the lacerations on Elijahs side didn’t seem to be healing and this has been an all time low for them, never had the witches hurt them so badly they couldn’t heal it. You were on relatively good terms with all of the witches however seeing your husband in this state all you could hear was your heart pounding and your blood boiling.
Elijah looks almost embarrassed as he utters a small “No?” You sigh and shake your head with a small smile, your husband would always be the one trying to make you laugh even if he did seem like he was bleeding out.
“That isn’t normally a question you answer with another question darling” all he does is smile back innocently.
“Cmon let’s get you cleaned up” you motion for him to sit on the couch as Hayley ends up attending to Nik as he grumbled about the ‘stupid witches’. You just sigh and look at Elijah pointedly
“You can’t keep running head first into ever fight that Nik picks so you can save him, it’s not safe” you tell him as you brush his hair out of his face to clean the small scratches surrounding his eyes.
“I know my love, he’s my brother, I simply can’t let him get himself in trouble, I made a vow to my mother to always protect him and it is what I plan to do as long as I’m alive, alongside you of course” you can’t help but smile at his loyalty to his family, you know it hasn’t been easy for him and Nik to gain back their mutual trust of one another especially after decades of daggers and heartbreak however for the most part they seem to have moved past all of that.
“I love you Eli, I can’t stand to see you hurt” He can feel your worry and although he and you both know he will continue to put himself in harms way to save Nik he hugs you and mumbles affirmations that he will try harder and be safer when he travels with Nik. You can’t ask for much more and you know that so as you both make your way to Freya’s room so that she can heal Eli’s wounds you squeeze his hand as a reminder he’s okay and Freya will most likely know how to heal him.
After the quick visit of Freya healing his wounds and researching about the kind of magic used by the witches that was somehow strong enough to hurt an original you both lay in you shared room.
“Do you ever wonder what it would be like if we were never turned?” You turn to him in confusion, you had been one of the first vampires that Elijah had turned after his mother had used to spell however even after decades of being together you always thought that you were both content with how life was. “Sometimes, but I am quite happy with how we are right now…Are you not?” You admit and question almost insecurely.
As if Elijah has read your thoughts he backtracks “No no no, my love I just meant that I would have wished for us to have a family of our own, little children for us to take care of and I am sorry that I can’t give that to you” you feel tears welling up at the thought of what your life could have been. You grasp Elijah’s face in your hands and assure him that you are perfectly happy with how things have played out.
“Even if you hadn’t turned me with you Elijah I would have been heartbroken to see you outlive me, you have been my rock and compass our entire lives, seeing you daggered by Niklaus only ever brought great heartache to me, so please don’t think for a moment that this life has not been more than enough, I will always choose you over and over again my love” You can feel his smile as you rest your head on his chest.
“Do you remember the 20’s? Where we had gone to that jazz club with Niklaus? We had just changed our names and anytime someone spoke to us we would make up elaborate stories of where we came from, we spent the entire night dancing and once we got home you told me that you loved me and that you wish we could have had that life-“
“You proposed to me that night and promised you would show me the world”
“I plan to keep that promise everyday we have each other”
“I love you Elijah Mikaelson”
“I love you more Y/N Y/L/N”

Temptation
Chapter 2 -> Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Your dad is tired of you bringing home these unworthy men. None of them being fit to take care of you or to be given the family business since you are the only daughter. He decides to find you someone fit to be your husband and receive help from the father of the church. That’s when you meet Yuta, though just because he goes to church doesn’t mean he’s much of a saint
Mafia, murder, violence, mentions of religion, (will contain other things in the next chapters)
The date went rather well… yes he was acting weird time by time. For example he would look at you then towards the direction of the exit and finally to his right where a group of men sat. His eyes always seemed to be darting in thoes specific spots. He was very vague with the answers to your questions and would switch the topic to you. You could feel the floor move as he bounced his leg up and down. Was your dad really going to let you marry this man?
"Don’t you think I should be getting to know you a bit more?" You clasp your hands together under the table. "Tell me about your family!"
"They’re well, alive and well." Yuta pokes at his steak, clearly not being hungry. He had taken you to this big fancy restaurant and ordered himself the most expensive steak just so he could look at it.
"What is your field of work?" You ask as you sunk your fork into a grilled piece of fish.
Taking a sip of his wine he chokes at the sudden question. He clears his throat and answers the question after a few minutes of contemplating. "I am a business owner."
"Oh really? What is your business about?" You perk up. Obviously you knew about the business work and that topic intrigued you. Your father has thought you everything you knew.
"I don’t think you would be quite interested in it. I don’t sell jewelry or dresses. It’s just trade, nothing your small head should worry about." He pats his front pocket and pulls out a buisness card. "I’m under the Gojo franchise."
The small card was being handed to you and you accepted it. It had the company’s name written on it in a cursive font with big dark blue letters.
"What are you trying to say? That I’m not knowledgeable enough to understand any of this? Do you know who I am? I’m the daughter of one of the best wine distributors. You’re literally drinking our company brand as we speak!" You furrow your brows.
He quirks his brow and lifts the glass up to take a good look at it. Inspecting as if he actually knew how to evaluate such thing. You watch as he took a sip from the glass and tasted the drink. Dragging his eyes back to yours he simplify shrugged and put the glass to the side
Your father has taught you about being a lady and to never let anger get the best of you. But he just spouted the most ridiculous thing ever. Did he really think he was going to win you this way? Unbelievable man, this was the last time he was ever going to see you.
"That was really good actually, the best iv ever had." Yuta smiled at you. "Right, I’m sorry for saying that. I’m just not used to being around many women. I was secluded when I was younger and was always around buisness men. I really had no time to just be a kid. The second I was able to read and write I was forced to learn everything I know now." He looks down.
Was that even justifiable?! But at the same time your heart ached as he talked about his childhood. This poor man was forced to grow up too fast and never had the chance to be a boy. You reached out for his hand that rested on the table. He looked up at you with a small smile.
"Thank you for opening up to me, I know it was probably hard to tell me."
"Yea it’s kind of embarrassing for me to admit that I have no experience. I told father everything and he promised to find me a woman suitable for me. Someone kind, understanding, forgiving and stunning." He pressed your hand onto his cheek as he looked at you.
Your heart melted as you stated at his dark blue eyes. His soft warm soft cheeks made you want to pinch them.
"Yuta, goodness what am I going to do with you. Such a handsome man with a heart of gold. I want you to know that you can always rely on me." You say forgetting everything that happened a while ago.
"Wait does that mean you’ll give me a chance?" He looks at you surprised.
You nod at him with a blush on your face.
" I’m going to treat you so well you have no idea." He pulls your hand towards his lips and plants a kiss on it.
His eyes looking past you as his lips stayed on your skin. Until he looked to the side and let’s go. Intertwining your hands together he can’t help but wear a big smile on his face. You’ve never felt this way before but you felt excited. This was something new for you and him. It was going to be a such an experience.
He ended up taking you home but before he left he wanted to have another talk with your father. Probably saying that you both had agreed on dating. If things work out you guys should be getting married in a few years. You watched the both of them enter your dads office and when the door closed your mom grabbed your hand and dragged you to the kitchen.
You looked at her shocked as she grabbed your face and searched you up and down. She ignored your questions as she investigated to her heart’s content. When she decided you were clear she let out a sigh. She looked like she had been stressed all day.
"You arnt hurt are you?" She said worried
"No mom Im perfectly fine. You don’t look okay though." You say looking at her red puffy eyes and smudged makeup.
"I told your father to find you a good man y/n! A good man but he’s so stupid." She held your arms tight. "Don’t worry I’ll get you of of this."
Your mom was usually a vey calm and collected person. She was the standard in your big family and everyone wanted to be rich and elegant as her. Seeing her act like this frightened you. If anyone saw her acting like this they would think that she was out of her mind.
"Mama you don’t have to worry about me. Yuta is such a kind gentleman. He’s not going to harm me nor is he going to kill me. I don’t think he would hurt a fly actually. You can relax and be sure that everything will be fine." You hug her tight. "You can even supervise all my dates if you want. You already know it’s going to take a few years before I actually go home with him or get married. Papa isn’t that easy to sway." You kiss her head as you.
"Your father, I don’t know what’s gotten into him. I don’t know why he would agree to let him take you go on a date with a boy related to the Gojo’s."
There it was again, that last name that keeps popping up. You might have to start investigating that family to find out what this whole thing is about.
"Y/n be careful with that boy and if your scared that sometimes is going to happen just comply and find a way to escape him. That family, they’re not to be messed with. You can seriously get hu-"
"We’re leaving." You hear a voice from the kitchen entrance.
The both of you jump, startled by the voice that spoke behind you.
Leaving? You mouth confused.
Yuta grabs you by the arm and leads you to the front door. You try to stop in protest but he kept pushing you fowards as you walked.
"What do you mean she’s leaving?! F/n what the hell are you thinking?!" Your mother shouts.
Before you could heard the answer to that the door behind you was shut. All you could heard was faint steaming, crying and the loud crickets that created there sweet sounds of the night. Everything was happening so quick that it didn’t give you time to think and process.
You were in the car by the time you even had a question about this whole situation. You couldn’t even recall when he put the seatbelt on you or when started driving. This all felt like a dream.
"Who are you?" You ask.
Yuta turns to look at you, his glossy eyes shining with the moonlight. "What do you mean by that?"
"You arnt an average person are you? You’re different." You stare at him as he faces the road once again.
He didn’t answer for a long time. It almost felt like forever. You were starting to think you wernt going to get an answer.
"Yuta okkotsu, Ceo of the trading branch that belongs to the Gojo franchise. Born and raised in upper NewYork."
You frown seeing that he told you what you already knew. Then something else caught your eye. On the front pouch of his dress shirt was a pen that seemed to be pushed down. Meaning he had used it not too long ago because that wasn’t there when you met him. That means he had signed something recently. If your dad had sent you off with him and he has a pen on him that could only mean…
"Did you just buy me?" You ask.
His eyes drag back onto you. His once soft puppy eyes turned into sharp tiger eyes. "No, are you okay sweetheart? You’re asking me such odd questions tonight. I think you need rest." He says.
"No." You protest. "Why did my dad agree to let you go on a date with me? Why did he not Interagate you more? Why was he so aggressive with you in the beginning and now he’s not? Why is he always smiling when he sees you? Why am I in the car with you right now? Why am I going home with you? We’re not even married for me to be sleeping with you." When you finished you felt your body being launched forward by force.
Yuta had stomped on the breaks causing that to happen. You held your chest with you hand trying to calm down your racing heart.
"Do you always ask this many questions?"
The ride to his place was silent. Not a sound came out of the both of you. You looked out the window at the different houses and stores that you passed by.
They all looked unfamiliar because you’ve never been in this part of town. The buildings were big and the houses had such big land. They where huge mansions that sat on the hills and smaller ones that where ground level. The car came to a slow stop making you look in front of you. When you did you could see a man opening the gates letting the car go in, it was dark but that didn’t prevent you from seeing this huge white mansion that stood in front of you. It had balcony and vines hanging from the side. A handful of cars were parked on the far left side of the house under a tree. Did he own that many cars? What kind of person needed that much?
He helped you out and held your hand the entire time. Unlocking the door he took you straight upstairs quietly. Almost as if he was sneaking you inside his parents house. Looking at him from behind you started to realize thing, you could see how his dress shirt hugged his back. How his pants fit a little bit too perfectly on him. The smell of his cologne being leather scented. The jewelry he wore on his hands. A scar that wrapped around his wrist that looked like it was made not too long ago.
You stumbled on a step making him stop to make sure you were okay. He had been walking a little bit too fast making it difficult for you to catch up. He decided to walk a bit slower giving you more of a chance to look around. The house was huge from the looks of it. The walls where a creamy white and the floors where a dark brown wooden color. The house seemed to be very clean, everything looked perfect actually. Not a spec of dust in sight making it odd. Your mother was a clean freak but not even she could get it this clean. The walls were littered with crosses and pictures of saints. Unfortunately this place look like it had not been touched by a women. It was missing the home like feeling.
He ended up sitting you down in a chair that he had in what you assumed was his bedroom. It was twice the size of yours and a balcony. He had big dressers, a big bed, a sofa and a chair with a table. It seemed a bit too big for someone like him. Then again maybe that’s why you were here. His tall body moved around the room as he put things from his pocket on a dresser. He threw his coat that he had been carrying on a chair. Then turned back to you.
"I’m going to go downstairs to do something. You can stay here and do whatever females do on their free time." Yuta said as he walked to the mirror and fixed his shirt. "Your to absolutely not go downstairs okay?" He says making eye contact with you through the mirror. "No matter what you here you ignore it." You could see his intense gaze looking at you showing you how serious he was being.
You nod at him.
"Splendid, You’re not hungry are you? I think I might heave something downstairs if not I can get you anything you want." He approaches you and presses a kiss on your lips as if this was the norm. You look at him with a look he could not possibly look away from. "Your really something huh? How about when I get back we can have some fun." He leans till the both of your noses are touching. Forehead pressed giants forehead. You reach for your neck and touch the cross necklace that rested there. He takes a step back and looks at you amusingly. "Right."
Walking out he closes the door behind him leaving you alone in this cold room. Your hand runs through the cold bedding sending chills through your body. The things you mom had said played over and over in your head. Maybe now was the time to find out who he was. Standing up you walk to the coat he had threw to the side.
Picking it up you slipped your hand in each pocket taking anything out. You pulled out some money, recipes, cigarettes, and a folded paper. Slowly you unfolded it afraid that he could possibly be right outside the door. The white crinkled paper contained random numbers and your name on it.
You take a seat in the hard floor and shove it in your dress. You would probably find use for it later on. Suddney someghing shiny caught your eye, looking down at it you spick it up. It seems to be a pin with a design in the front of it. The more you looked at it the more it reminded you of the one your dad wore. It was a cuff link, these were used a show off wealth and status. Usually the things on them had meaning. This design was one you remember seeing somewhere. Holding it up for the light you look at it more trying to catch every detail you could. Then you remember that you saw it in the card he had given you. Quickly you looked for the card you had stuffed somewhere.
Unfortunately you weren’t careful enough with it and it ended up slipping out of your fingers. You gasped as it hit the floor making a loud echo. That’s when it started to roll away from you. Quickly you ran to grab it but missed the first time. It was rolling faster and faster gaining speed. You struggled to grab it and by the time it stared to loose momentum it had went under the double doors. You bite your lip debating on whether you should go out but you would be in big trouble if he found out you grabbed it. Cuff links can range from cheap to very expensive and that’s one looked like it was worth a heavy penny.
Opening the door you look around the floor to find the dam thing heading down the stairs. Everytime the link made impact on a step, a loud clink could be heard. You wince at each sound it made. Taking your heels off to make less noise you chase after it. Finally reaching the bottom of the stairs you snag it before it could run any further. You take a deep breath relieved that you finally had it back.
"Well I haven’t seen one of you since the last one." A man said. Turning around you see a tall man with a long beard looking at you. Somehow the hair didn’t transfer to his shiny bald head. You weren’t sure who this man was so you tried making conversation really short with him so you could get back but maybe this could work out with you.
"Oh, your telling me he’s had other girls?"
"Obviously he has, you must be an idiot to believe that man hasn’t had a woman. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a child somewhere." He laughs.
Well now you knew that whole sob story was a lie.
"Right because he’s a very important guy right?"
"I think you’re underestimating him, he’s literally the reason the Gojo franchise is still running with no competition. Then again he literally m-" before he could finish his sentence a long shot rang out. You quickly duck from the sound taking cover from the shooting. Who in the world could be carrying in such a nice neighborhood?! Usually you heard these type of things on the other side of town. It took you a minute before you looked back up but when you did Yuta stood infront of you.
"Didn’t I tell you to wait upstairs." Yuta squats down to get eye level with you.
Behind him you could see a crowed of men walking out a room. He must of getting out of a meeting but why was it at his house? He quickly snagged your attention by grabbing your face.
"You’re not answering." He says.
There was no point in lying to him. Slowly you open your hand and show him the cuff link. He looked at you surprised and took it from you.
"Where you trying to give this to me? Because you knew I had a meeting?" He says as his ears began to turn pink.
You had no idea how he came up with that conclusion but you didn’t deny it.
"Well that was really kind of you and uh darling, where are you heels?" Yuta looks down at your feet that touched the floor. You laugh awkwardly not knowing how to explain yourself. It didn’t matter much since he picked you right off your feet and carried you upstairs. Looking over his shoulder you look down to see if the man you had spoken too was still there. Instead you saw a crowed and a group of people carrying something out the door.
"Y/n, let’s get some rest. You have a long day tomorrow."

Tumblr media
"Save yourself."
You stiffened in Thomas' arms as the soft spoken tone reached your ears, eyeing your new husband with rapidly increasing worry. "Did you hear that?"
His eyes held a touch of concern, the smile he gave you -- while breathtaking as it always was -- not quite reaching his eyes as he gave you words of reassurance. "Must simply be the wind, darling. At times it blows so harshly through the piping of the house that it feels as if the halls themselves are whispering to you. It's ghastly, I know, but it's home."
The words sounded perfectly crafted, as if practiced and corrected many times before, doing nothing to ease the tension that had spread throughout your body as he carried you across the threshold. You made a show of giving him a reassured smile, consciously widening your eyes in an attempt to convince him that you doubted no portion of his answer. "Just the wind," you said softly when he set you back down on your feet.
"Just the wind," he echoed, placing his hat down on a nearby table before framing your face in large gloved hands and touching the tip of his cold nose to your own, the chill making you break out into a fit of giggles. "There's that sound I absolutely adore from you, my dear wife." Your giggles melded into a weakened sigh once he leaned in closer and pressed a soft kiss to your lips.
"Ah. There you are," a stern voice spoke from the other side of the floor, the sound bouncing off the walls as footsteps struck against tile then hardwood, the figure of Lucille Sharpe, your new sister-in-law, striding towards you. "You're finally home."
"Lucille," your husband breathed out, walking towards her and meeting his sister halfway and pulling her into a tight embrace.
Something in the sight immediately put you off, as if you sensed an intimacy between them that crossed the lines of familial love. Namely the way that she wrapped long fingers around his upper arm and leaned against his shoulder with her eyes closed, as if she was pressing a kiss on the spot.
"Welcome, Y/N," she finally spoke to you. "How have you been faring with the cold thus far?"
"Quite different from what I'm accustomed to but I can get used to just about anything," you answered her with a warm smile, subtly tilting your head at how she'd shaped her fingers like claws and dug the tips into Thomas' arm before releasing him from her hold.
"You're not imagining it. She abuses him. Makes him sleep with her," the same voice from earlier spoke. "Every night. He won't be laying with you later."
"Well you cannot possibly have adjusted so quickly. Why don't I fix us all some tea and, Thomas you can draw your bride a bath and start a fire? Give her a semblance of home to help her adjust a touch quicker?" The words seemed welcoming enough; her smile, however, made you wish to go back out into the biting winter cold instead. You might fare better against nature than against Lucille.
"Truly, Lucille? Tea this early? We'd just gotten home, we've not had the chance to even begin to unpack our belongings." You began to eye your husband with the same suspicion now, narrowing your eyes at his question that seemed as if they were speaking of more than just 'tea'.
"It will help warm her up," she insisted. "All of us, really."
His sharp exhale filled the room, his arm reaching out towards you when you began to walk further into the house and wrapping around your shoulders. "Very well then." His tone towards her had grown more formal, dismissive even. "Shall I show you to our room, Lady Sharpe?" He gave you a warm smile, this time the kind that reached his eyes as you nodded your assent.
A mixture of your giggles and his filled the house as he scooped you up into his arms once more and carried you up the stairs.
You tried to suppress your blush as you were treated to the view of your husband busying himself in your bedroom, insisting you 'sit back and not worry a single hair on that pretty head' while he prepped the fireplace. Of course, who were you to refuse a comfortable room with a view, especially when said view came in the form of Thomas Sharpe, coats shrugged off and sleeves rolled up to his elbows starting a fire to keep you warm?
The orange light of the kindling fire began to wash over the room, already making you feel as if you could breathe easier as your husband gave you an adorably triumphant smile. "Oh my word," he breathed out, rising to his feet and slowly making his way to you.
"What is it?" A warmth bloomed inside you, his fingertips lightly tracing your features with one hand while the other began to undo the bun in your hair. If only that warmth wasn't accompanied by the pit forming in your stomach as you remembered what that voice whispered in your ear downstairs.
"You are breathtaking in this light, darling." He ran his fingers through your hair, touching your chin with his free hand and tilting your head upward as he leaned down to press his lips to yours. The feel of him groaning against your skin sent your heart into a frenzy and your stomach fluttering like a dozen butterflies had just taken residence inside.
Every touch of your lips seemed more frantic than the last, feeling yourself getting more and more lost in him. Almost to the point that you forgot where you were. In a gloomy creepy near-derelict mansion that was potentially filled with ghosts that were talking to you confirming your intuition about Lucille and your husband having a debauched relationship in a secret held within the decaying walls. And so far away from the city where if you were to meet an untimely demise it would take days, maybe even weeks, before anyone at home was informed of your passing.
All of that seemed to fade away while you stayed in his arms.
"What if I drew us both a bath?" he murmured against your lips, giving you one more lingering kiss before pulling away, his expression darkened with such explicit lust that it had you struggling to breathe.
"How scandalous," you teased, your breath  hitching in the back of your throat when you felt his fingers playing with the buttons securing the collar of your dress behind your neck.
The corner of his mouth upturned in a smirk once he worked the buttons undone and his fingertips met the skin of your  neck, a whimper slipping from your lips as he slipped the piece of fabric off of you. "My darling, we are husband and wife." You bit your lips to muffle a moan when he leaned in to press a kiss to the newly exposed skin. "There is nothingscandalous about us sharing a bath, if you're willing."
He continued to press kiss after kiss along the column of your neck, and you suddenly felt a heat spreading throughout your body that had nothing to do with the fire steadily crackling on a few feet away from you. "Well in that case, dear husband, I think that's a wonderful--"
The sharp sound of knuckles rapping on the door broke the heady spell you were under, both of you  suddenly standing upright, Thomas' arm now wrapped around you with his hand splayed on the side of your waist as he pulled you to his side. "Is everyone decent?" you heard Lucille's voice clear and piercing through the door.
"Decent enough," your husband called out, chuckling as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
"Thomas what on Earth could you possibly mean by--Oh…" The look on her face may as well have dropped to the ground when her eyes befell the sight before her. Your now exposed neck, hair flowing down your back, Thomas' own overcoat and waistcoat draped haphazardly over the tall armchair, shirt wrinkled from where your hands clutched at him from moments earlier, the first few buttons undone and exposing his defined chest. "Seems I interrupted a private moment."
"Oh it's no trouble really--" you started just as Thomas said, "Yes, you did."
You did what you could to stifle your smile, giving way to him continuing his sentiment instead. "I was just about to draw a bath for my wife. And myself." Once more you fought to keep your expression unchanged as her neck so visibly twitched at the lurid implications of his words.
The voice from earlier was back. But she wasn't talking to you, rather she was talking to…another voice. You could barely make out names in the conversation. Edith. Enola. Talking about how Thomas was different with you, how he seemed to be protecting you almost.
"I'm sure the bath can wait, dear husband," you said, plastering on a warm smile you strived to reach your eyes.
"But I'm not quite sure that I can," he shot back with a chuckle, pulling you closer to him.
"Come on, sweetheart, Lucille made us tea. It'd be a shame for it to go cold." You looked to him with wide eyes, seeing how his jaw clenched for a moment before he briefly narrowed his eyes at his sister. And she was looking to you with a conspiratorial smirk, as if she felt the satisfaction of finding in you some ally. But you knew that look for what it really was; you'd seen it enough times throughout your ventures in London.
It was the look of an assumed mastermind pleased to see that a pawn was carrying out a leg of a plan on their own volition. And thus playing into their own trap. Run, little mouse, run, her eyes seemed to say. Right into my snare.
"You have your sensibilities about you, Y/N. I like you already."
"I've been around London enough times to know how you get with your tea," you joked, your cheeks aching from the smile you were trying to keep up. It seemed worth the dull ache, though, with the single nod she gave you as she poured out the hot beverage in two of the cups on the tray. The third one, however, had already been filled. And that was the cup she held out to you.
"I wasn't sure how you preferred it, so I took a guess on somewhere between lukewarm and fresh off the kettle. I hope it is to your liking, my new sister."
"You're very kind, Lucille. Thank you." You brought the cup up to your nose, taking in the aroma. "This…smells quite different from the teas I've had in London. What is it?"
"Firethorn berries," your husband answered. "Lucille picks them out in the garden and crushes them herself."
So cyanide, you thought to yourself, wondering if Thomas' omission of whether the crushed berries had been washed was intentional or simply an oversight on his part. They're trying to kill me.
You could feel your heart sinking from the realization that you'd married in such a rush and now you were to face the consequences. Your rational mind screaming obscenities at you for being so foolish to fall for the words of an angelic face and a devilish voice, and another voice trying to scream louder that you had to think of something quick lest one of them shove the drink down your throat and start the poisonous process.
"Don't drink it! The poison is in the tea!" one of the voices screamed.
"She has to. Lucille will kill her if she doesn't," the first voice, the guiding voice, answered her.
You took a breath, mustering all your confidence as you hoped that the wayward idea that flew through your mind in the last few moments would work convincingly enough. Raising the cup to your lips, the moderately hot liquid slipped past your lips, and you let it stay there a second before breaking out into a fit of coughs and spitting out majority of the drink, blindly looking for a place to set down the cup and doubling over and arching your back with each cough.
"Y/N!" The cup was taken out of your hand, Thomas pulling you close to him, moving your hair out of your face and running his hand up and down your back, trying to calm the fit. "Darling what happened?"
"I'm not quite sure," you answered through heaving breaths, both of you having sunk to the floor on your knees in the midst of your show. You fought against your instinct to stiffen in his hold as he pulled you to him, cradling you against his chest. "I suppose it was foolish of me to think firethorn berries was an exception to my allergies."
"Allergies?!" Lucille snapped. "Thomas, you never mentioned anything about your new wife's allergies when you wrote to me about her."
"It's my fault," you answered her. "Honestly it was such a whirlwind romance and the wedding happened so fast there was so much we didn't get to know about each other." You gave a regretful look to your husband. "I'm sorry."
He gave you this sorrowful look, complete with teary eyes, furrowed upturned brows, and quivering lip, before pulling you closer again and resting your head on his shoulder. "This isn't your fault, darling. None of this is your fault. I'm just glad you're alright." You kept at it with your heaving breaths, gradually easing yourself back to a regular rhythm. "How about I fix us something to eat after we freshen up?"
You gave him a weak nod, inwardly hissing that you'd rather starve than let them have another attempt at your life like that. Letting out a few more weak coughs and making sure to cover your mouth lest Lucille or Thomas know what an allergic reaction ideally looked like and realize that you'd been putting on a show, you turned your gaze to Lucille. "I'm so sorry you went through all this trouble--"
"It's no trouble at all, dear sister," she cut you off, the icy rage poorly veiled in her eyes despite the smile she was clearly straining to give you. "As Thomas said, what matters is that you're alright." Her eyes flickered to her brother one last time before she turned and left your bedroom, shutting the door behind her.
"Let me go get you some water, darling." Thomas held your hands as you both stood, holding you close to him again when you were both up on your feet. "I could have sworn I felt my heart drop to the ground when you seemed about to hack out your lung from those heaves."
He'd led you to the ensuite and turned on the tap. Once the water began to run you straightened your stance and stepped out of his hold, your coughs suddenly -- suspiciously -- a thing of the past. "It's so sweet of you to be so concerned, Thomas." The furrow between his brows deepened, the water overflowing from the glass and onto his hand. "Now tell me. Whose idea was it to poison me, dear husband?" You sneered the words now, as if they themselves were poison to even utter. "Was it yours? Or your sister's?"

A/N: Welcome to…the series that I didn't actually intend to be a series 😅 When I was planning out this request I only intended for it to be 3 parts, and then I started writing it 2 days ago I realized that I'd be cramming way too much into one part if I wrote it the way I first planned, so it became 4 parts…and then 5…and now it's 8.
But I honestly look forward to diving into this story and sharing it with you all, and I just hope y'all like it, too 💖💛
