hi! love your art :) i just wanted to ask if you have any resources you’d recommend for WWI uniform/gear references for art purposes? i’ve been struggling to find good refs (especially for officers/anything beyond just the basic infantry uniforms) so i thought i’d ask what you tend to use! thanks & have a great day!

hello hey hi!!! ty for the message i love talking about uniforms and spend way too many hours of the day looking for reference of them

so i talked a bit about this before in this post! i stand by a lot of what was said there aka pinterest, google searching/scouring, and that book i linked........ these are all good for officers too! looking for officer ref is often very similar to infantry stuff, tho there may just be less of it depending on what specifically you're looking for. if you are looking for very specific references and want to get insane about it i can talk about that too.... tho i would like to say i dont have like one specific website to link bc i use so many different ones only like once or twice

if you're willing to spend money i'd recommend looking for books on the subject- there is always one strange book from like 1970 about the helmets of ww1 on ebay or something. the nice thing about that is they will typically name the different parts of a uniform, which allows you to google that specific thing to get a closer look. learning about the makeup of a uniform/everything's specific use helps when its time to draw them. ofc this isnt a super sustainable option but investing in a good encyclopedia once has saved me so much time. that guide to ww1 has been well loved

if youre not looking to spend money there are still a lot of options. stuff i like in no particular order:

reenactment pictures- action shots, higher quality pictures than something from 1918. you can find whole galleries of people's reenactment battles (?? is that what theyre called??) if you do a little clicking around.

stock photo websites- be really careful here bc you dont want to get into trouble with usage rights. i only rly use these if im desperate and then very sparingly and piecemeal bc i dont want to get in trouble lol

websites where they sell reproduction/reenactment uniforms- here is an example. reproduction stuff is great bc u can usually find every little bit of the uniform being sold somewhere by someone. ebay has also been surprisingly helpful.

& the thing i would like to stress the most is that i rly dig for references. i literally have 21 tabs open with different searches for super specific things on my phone at this very moment. i use google image search extensively and scroll through literally so many jpegs, pngs, pdfs, webps, etc etc etc. the unfortunate truth is that the more specific you get the harder it is to find stuff. i recently drew a ussr female fighter pilot and had to get ref for her uniform from about 5 different sources (and that was one drawing!!!!!) sometimes i find a reference for the exact thing i need on a website that has nothing else of use to me. the best advice i have here is just keep scouring and clicking and you will eventually find something. i wish this was more helpful but once you know what you are looking for you can search for that thing specifically and that's a big help

this did not need to be so long but if theres one thing about me i will go on and on and on given the chance. im insane can you tell

Ruffle Cuff Text-Based Instructions

I know people learn different ways, sometimes by following instructional steps from text based explanations or by having a visual aid. This will not have a visual aid, but if you guys would like one, I will def rewrite this post with pictures.

Step 1: Make a 2 x Base cuff in any colors you like!

Step 2: once your 2 X is done, either string to a top connector bead or tie some elastic on next to a connector beads

(connector beads are the beads that well, connect everything, theyre usually the center of an X)

Step 3: Imagine youre making a rotating cuff essentially and go to the area where you need to make bumpers. (if that's a better explanation, it's the top row of the X base) the first go around is to string 3 beads (instead of 5) through your connector beads and go all the way around the top of the cuff. should look like it's got little pyramids or spikes on one end when youre finished. Step 4: route your string to come out of one of these points from the bead at the very tip of the point and now we string five beads all around, going through the mini spikes

NOTE: with this cuff, it's a game of when to pull tight and when to let your elastic be looser, the looser your elastic, the floppier the cuff, but you do want it to have some structure with tight string to keep it flared out!

Step 5: after you've strung 5 beads around, it should look like the start of a carousel cuff. You're gonna go around again, this time still with 5 beads, the cuff should look a little dorky at that point, dont worry, you're doing it right lol it should look like a big disk on one end of the cuff.

Step 6: now, bring your string to the tip of the 5 beads and string on seven! beads, this is where the cuff has the potential to become floppy so dont *tightly* pull, but make sure it's not flopping around.

Step 7: string 7 more beads, still going through the center of the tips of all of the spikes. once youre on your second round, it becomes rounder instead of pointy.

Step 8: so the last step is to string 7 more beads and go around the entire cuff. dont worry if they look a little odd, it's going to. and the 7 beads should round off the edges instead of creating spikes. once youre at that point, you can tie it off and wear it. or some of yall crazy people would want to continue it.

Step 9 (optional): if youre going to keep going, you need to make your increments in ODD numbers. like dont string 8 beads, because then you'll be off by a bead. so if you want to go past 7, i would recommend to start stringing 9 beads as you go around. or make a more dramatic leap to 11 beads which should help to round it out more, but it will get more round as you go, rather than spiky.

when wearing it for the first time, you kind of have to push the ruffle down for the desired effect bc otherwise it can just look like on big disk on your arm. you kind of want to shape it into being a ruffle, the stiffer your cuff is, the harder time youre gonna have getting the ruffle to lay down nice so remember! not too tight! but a little tight for structure

you can use this photo as a reference for where youre supposed to put 5 vs 7 beads. it should also form some X's similar to an X based cuff, but those are also just connector beads

WARNING: making this all white can be tricky if you dont count your beads right, you may want to make your connector beads a different color as an easier guide.

- princess peach is her biggest style inspiration! she mends and hems her own clothes to fit around her shell and knits sweaters every winter and donates them to clothing drives

- cried at the amount of people who said "hi barbie!" to her both before and after seeing the barbie movie

i take a Lot out of the book "sun circles and human hands: the southeastern indians - art and industry" (2001 edition, not the 1957 one) which i have a physical copy of and i have sticky notes tabbing out out and also annotated highlighting every mention of the chickasaw and of sites where i know the chickasaw [or our ancestors, like the chicaza and other early mississippian/SE ntv cultures] so i can reference stuff i know would be from us, but i also take inspiration from all the designs in it because we were all a part of an interconnected cultural network of art

if you are from a tribe that would be from mississippian culture or the southeastern ceremonial complex/southeastern cult as it used to be called, or you know your people wouldve come from places within that like spiro or moundville, and you want to bring more native styling into your art this is THEEE book i would recommend. it is insanely useful. i cant vouch 100% for the text of it, and the second half is mostly kinda grainy b&w scanned photos of pottery and other items lmao, but the first half has lineart depictions OF designs found, with the attribution for the site they were found at. it is a Massive wealth of symbols and style and has been the best thing for wanting to study and emulate SE ndn art. for real i lent a copy to my grandma and then couldnt find where it was and i had to just order a new copy bc i use it so damn much

like i would post pages of it, and before i bought it i survived off the pinterest pics of scanned pages, but i cannot say enough just buy the book and look through it bc its just perfect its so useful. just posting a few pages doesnt do any justice to the wealth of style and art in it. ive tried to make myself some mock style/symbol guides from it, but even those fail to capture the variety of stuff in there and its why i still have it on hand for reference bc every time i get stumped theres so many ideas in there

i had done sinti homma, the red snake earlier, and i wanted to do a little motley of other simple transparent animals to go with it. so i did! ive got a few different animals that i played with doing, but a lot of them ended up veering too much off of the more hardline ntv style i wanted to do, and the others didnt fit the guideline i had made - i wanted them all to have a pointed tail that pointed to some corner of the frame, and curl around in the square a bit to have more of a sense of motion. i was thinking deer, turtle, spider... but none of those really fit that. so i flipped thru SC&HH for some ideas and came up with some :3

the bottom left one on the first pic there gave me a good idea of what to do with a rat tail, and on the bottom right of that same pic is the Fattest fucking fish and i lifted a lot of that design to use for my fish (and while we're here, the rattler tails on the top right of that pic were what i used for sinti hommas tail), and the bottom left on the second pic gave me the idea for the lizards legs/feet shape, and then i used the chickasaw vocab flashcards of animals to think of animal ideas and so i used the pinti from there to jump me off into doing a rat

theyre all named after the chickasaw words - sinti (snake), shunti (rat/rodent), kanunuk (lizard, specifically green striped lizard, which is why i made it green with stripes lol), nunni (fish) . i use the chickasaw dictionary webpage a lot these days though i should use my dictionary copies more bc they use the spelling style i dont prefer lol

i also want to do maybe a sort of pop art style big print of them, like repeated with different colors behind them? and/or them in a medicine wheel? but those are still wip so we shall see!

Art tips I beg of you share your wisdom

Oh god oh fuck I'll try, a lot of my art process is vibes only, i kind of just zone out and Draw and a picture appears

I have to stress that practice is the most important part of art, even if said art looks shit and you feel like the world is ending because you're not doing well/making tangible process/it's not turning out how you want. Gotta push through that by accepting that hey, sometimes your art turns out looking Janky, so what? You still took the time and effort to make art, and you're more of an artist than you were before starting the piece. You can sit back and figure out how to constructively criticise yourself without destroying your own self confidence for the sake of a viewer who isn't there. Practice being neutral about noting the parts you dislike - 'this anatomy is awful and I'm shit at it, why do i bother' isn't going to help as much as sitting back, going 'damn that looks weird, lol' and then looking up reference photos similar to what you'd been hoping to draw and figuring out where things went wrong.

When starting with a drawing, person or animal, I find myself focusing on the silhouette initially. Sometimes i might play around with a solid colour, or focus on the outline with a thin-ish pen. It helps to be aware of certain curves on a form and how it relates to other features of the body proportionally. Look at the empty spaces on the piece and look back to those in the reference, or your own intuition, flip the canvas etc, and see if it looks 'right'. Get funky with it when in the draft stage

Tracing for practice and reference also helps - but don't trace blindly, instead use it as a chance to figure out how the lines of a person/animal/construct move, and how can you replicate that in art. Make guidelines and notes on how things are proportionate to each other, isolate singular lines and practice them over and over to build up the muscle memory.

kind of like the above, where I used photos of an oc's faceclaim (Andy Lau) and traced over them, isolated certain features, made guidelines, and so on

When figuring out how to draw faces, I use a couple little anatomy tricks to keep things in line before tweaking some of the features to make things more unique:

Corners of the mouth tend to align with the top of the jaw. The corners of the mouth also align with the pupils if a front-facing figure is looking straight on. The inner corners of both eyes align with the outer nostrils. Top of the ears align with the top of the eyelid and earlobes align with the bottom of the nose.

This can change depending on feature size etc, some people have bigger or smaller eye or theyre close together or further apart, or they have large earlobes or none at all, or their nose is small or big. I just use it as a guideline to make sure features are in order because. Uh. I keep forgetting to draw in the guides during the draft stage.

Variability of the human face lends well to avoiding same face syndrome as you can stretch the features quite a bit. It may feel weird or wrong drawing a face with different features to how you're used to, but that's the point of practice and progress.

For rendering I found using the colour zones of the face (shown below) adds a lot of oomph and depth after finding my own rendering attempts falling a bit flat.

I make the three colour bands, blend them to the contours of the face, then set the layer to multiply and lower the opacity to around 10-20%, and make further tweaks there to where it best suits the face being drawn.

Other little things

Eyes aren't totally white, make them a touch grayer and also add a little bit of blue to give it some depth. Same with teeth but I've yet to figure those freaks out

Hands are the devil but draw them enough times and you can flub your way through them until they feel normal. Would recommend having at least one finger in a different position to the rest, as our hands naturally rest with the index finger away from the rest. Again, use a reference, trace for research and building muscle memory, be cognizant of the muscles and bones at play in the hand and wrist. There are reference compilations on pinterest I've found in the past that have been helpful, and taking a photo of your own hand is an option as well.

A hand's palm width across is also the height of your lower face. That sentence doesn't make a lot of sense - but if you put your hand over your mouth, the top will be touching the bottom of your nose, and the bottom of your hand will align with your chin, more or less. Again, this can change from person to person but is helpful when eyeballing proportions.

Reference sites like x6ud is very helpful for angles of people and animals. Apps like Handy are helpful with figuring out how certain angles of light interact with the face. Videos like this one and this one are also good lighting references. Just looking up 'face under different light angles' on a search engine or pinterest will also be fruitful. Books like Michel Lauricella 's Morpho - Fat and Skin Folds is also very useful and you can find free pdfs online with enough safe digging. And there are a number of tutorials by tumblr artists on a number of desired topics

For expressions, it can be difficult to word the search right to find the specific look and angle you want as a reference. If you're willing, I'd recommend taking a photo of yourself making the expression at the intended angle. No one but you has to see the photo lmao

Uhhh. Multiply, overlay, add (glow) are your friends if you use CSP, play around with pens and layer effects until you get ones you like. I'm partial to the CSP textured pen for lineart and the watercolour pen for rendering

sorry in advance if you've already answered a question like this but i just wanted to ask, how do you improve on drawing?? i think especially for things like coloring, shading, and lighting , its been difficult for me to be happy with how it looks because compared to the sketch (that i think already looks nice) the colors just seem sort of flat and muddy and i feel like i dont have a good grip on what colors to put where and how to make it look unflatt if that makes sense! just curious on maybe what kinds of practices and studying you do for this(if any))<33 obv you dont have to answer if you dont want to, and thank you for being one of my inspirations, love youu<33333

hihi!! for simply shading/lighting, i would suggest you only work in black and white until you're totally comfortable with developing values. why? marco bucci explains it really nicely in this video but basically if you have good values u can have absolutely garbage nonsense colors and it will still make sense aka when i did this lol:

i'm guessing you're more interested in colored artwork though since black and white drawings can't be "flat and muddy" bc theyre in grayscale lol. for coloring, this is so tough for me too so i thought about this for a day or so and i came up with 3 tips that might help^^ 1) getting colors directly from photo reference or color reference, 2) manually adding filters/color harmony, and 3) studying color theory

i always work from photo reference so it informs a lot of my coloring/shading/lighting and often when i don't understand what color I'm looking at i directly just eye drop it and realize that what i thought was purple was actually just a gray-red. working from an actual picture helps make sure my colors don't look strange and while i used to think eye-dropping felt like "cheating" when i worked digitally honestly i've learned a lot from it and honestly if i stare at a color long enough i can get it pretty accurately now but i'm just too lazy so eye-dropping just speeds up my workflow (plus i hate digital color pickers anyways they r not built for artists and i wrote an entire paper on it in college once lmao) anyways here's an example of a color study i did by directly eye-dropping from a gif with @quokki's incredible coloring (love u ale <3)

if you're not working from a picture directly, you can still use other pictures or artwork as a "color reference" which I used to do a lot. i like to look at art from other ppl with pretty colors and create a color palette to use in my own drawings. for example, the color palette for this felix painting came from a piece (idr which) by Simón Prades on instagram but this palette is really easy to use since it's linear values it's like working in black and white but comes out looking cooler LOL

Recently for my lee know kiki's delivery service drawing i felt that the colors seemed a little flat n muddy to me because it was in an animated flat coloring style (lol) so I added a filter layer (just a flat apricot color set to overlay at 25% on photoshop) that livened up the whole thing and made it feel more cohesive. It's a pretty subtle difference to other people but made a world of difference to me :) it helped take the muddiness out of the shadows of his face and the glass reflection and took the painting from gloomy rainy day with stale bread to warm sunny day with fresh bread :]

and finally if u are interested in actually studying colors and lighting and shading and stuff these r some of the youtube videos and channels that i think do a great job explaining these very cool concepts:

pre-realism vs post-realism is a cool video about the difference between the mentality of how beginners draw vs how experts draw and kinda blew my mind tbh i think the big color takeaway from this video is that something that kids would color (like green grass) might actually be a totally different color to an artist's eye (dark yellow, red gray, even a super desaturated purple) depending on a realistic lighting situation

nathan fowkes did a 3-part guest talk series on understanding color temperature and relationships: (1) (2) (3) also not coloring but i love his video on value massing

this lecture on what charles bernard calls "the mother color principle" takes the "filtering" tip that i mentioned earlier to a much more developed level (it's an hour long so just skip through it.. u get the gist of what he's saying in a few min but the whole demo is also cool too)

i mentioned him earlier but marco bucci has many 10 min digestable videos about color on his channel that i like :) (also this lighting/value video is great too)

omg your art trademark is definitely the facial features and brush you use like there's always a level of detail to the face shape that gives it depth and deepens how pretty it is to me...goddamn everyone's eyes and eyebrows..... also whatever brush you use for sketching the linework out always makes me realize it's your style <3 ALSO another thing that I love that is a little weird/kinda hard for me to describe is that you give limbs quite nice curves and thickness? like there's other artists and I do it too where the characters are very knobbly and lanky and there's very hard edges to them but you always just fill out characters so nicelyyyyy

omg thats really cool to know actually, i think i put a lot of focus into how i draw faces because i used to have the worst case of same-face-syndrome and i refuse to go back lmao, and also faces are just. so interesting?? i definitely dont do as much studies as i should considering how often i draw people, but i do stare at a lot of reference photos

human bodies, also, are interesting bc theyre so organic and weird looking sometimes so thats probably where that comes from haha i actually hadnt noticed that about my work before!! so it was interesting having to actually go and look through my art to figure out what you meant

also the brush i use for lineart is actually just the brush i use for my sketching! i just size it down - so if i draw something at a 12 i'll line it at a 7, and thats honestly just bc its a brush i customised so its the one im the most comfortable with and like. if it aint broke dont fix it, right? i actually also use the same brush for some of my colouring - i'll block in the big colours (skin, hair, clothes) with an inking brush and then go back in with my little customised brush (at a much larger size) and do the shading and highlights and blush and stuff

thinking of house of leaves at work again and im at the chapter where they start the "official" exploration. these people are dumb. the troperrific quality of the documentary is getting more blatant. three supposedly experienced men went headfirst into a disorienting maze of a house and they didnt even bring a compass until karen points it out. their expedition is doomed. the book spelled it out for us. not even a step and they already fought over rights to own the place.

there is a supernatural phenomenon and their first thought is to conquer it and put a name on it as if its an empty depopulated piece of land ready for harvest and development. its a criticism of some of the unsavory tendencies of the men's field of work and interest. photojournalism and nature exploration. profiting off tragedies and conflict from around the world, being hailed as a brave voice of the voiceless to capture some conflict in the third world, when theyre actually just providing photos for people in the imperial core to gawk at and feel guilt over without questioning if their government had a hand on it happening, further fueling a white saviorist complex and poverty tourism. meanwhile in the case of nature exploration, getting awards and grants and speaking opportunities to explore places that are labeled as exotic and unknown, erasing the indigenous populations who have lived there for generations and maybe even help them explore. the minotaur's gonna kill them.

im sorry, i kinda got off tangent here.

and, there might be a touch criticism on gender too? because we saw karen on her own little sidequest relying on mystical knowledge and superstition on feng shui and she was the one who points out the compass thing and was implied to left the house for good (or to disappear in the house?) before it could actually harm her, and by extension, her kids. so far, she's the one with the rational take on everything. but the way she goes about it, im afraid the author might have went the road of mystifying women's knowledge and insight to prove that karen is better than all the three men in how she reacts.

and there's also a little bit of passage about karen's explorations. is this referring to her affair or did she secretly traversed the maze without navidson noticing?

and another bit that supports my crack theory that zampano is actually johnny truant, johnny wrote down how a woman cheated on her boyfriend for him and it coincidentally happens when he's trying to translate a passage that was written a few paragraphs before karen's affair was revealed. though this could be another one of his tangents that tries to relate everything in the manuscript with his own daily life

basically they claim to astral project, yet also say they don't believe in shifting. They refer to spirits like they're half-baked oc's, never giving personality traits or charactizarion, only using writing prompts and saying that's how the situation with the spirit went!!! they also banned educating other people in their channel??? like sure, set your boundaries, but they delete comments that say, "that's not how that works??"

hello hello! i love how you draw clothing !! :O not sure if this has been asked before, but if it's okay, can you please give us some tips on how to do it? totally fine if not, hehe, and thank you again for your wonderful art!

ahhh thank you!!! what!!! i actually think i suck at drawing clothing! i have no clue how to do it lmao. i'll try my best to help tho???

i feel like whenever i get asked art tips questions i always just say uhhhh references and practice! but like its always true 😭but ill try to say something else this time.

folds/wrinkles are what make clothing look most realistic so theyre one of the most important things to get right. theyre also super hard to "guess" where theyre at in my experience, which is was i suck at clothes without reference photos. i draw clothing folds usually by making some sort of triangle in the fabric! most folds are some sort of very elongated version of a triangle and its just figure out where to put all these triangles lol.

bunch o triangles! also good thing to notice in this example is how they're all sort of pointed in the same direction. wrinkles tend to follow a similar line/point of tension. once you figure out where that point is, creating the wrinkles can be a lot easier! i still have difficulties figuring it out sometimes ahah. this is where references really really come in handy again.

another thing to be aware of is what sort of freedom/restraint the clothing has!

a jacket like this will hang looser than a shirt because it's open in the front. however it'll also have a whole new set of folds and tension because of the strap across his chest. it has to tuck into the strap and then back out.

also, little details can go a long way! i like adding seams, tears, buckles and buttons, etc. i actually cant get too detailed or i get bored lol but even adding little things like that can add a lot!

beyond that, idk! shading clothing has always been super hard for me and i still dont think i do it well :') lots of gradients and staring at reference pictures for a long time.

I love looking for reference photos of him because this is always near the top of the search results.

I dont really plan on making anything for this, but I was thinking about family dynamics and how in a lot of modern aus, people make Suika either Senkuu's or Kohaku's little sister. Or if they have a mixed family then she's Kohaku's little sister and Senkuu's step-sister. However, I haven't seen anything about making her Chrome's little sister. To me, those two have the highest sibling energy. Kohaku dotes on her, Senkuu too but to a lesser extent, but Chrome, upon her introduction, scolds her for supposedly stealing his stuff. That's exactly what a bitchy older sibling would do. He treats her like an annoying kid sibling but also gets super excited whenever she does something cool. As Kohaku's little sister, she's really cute, but I feel like she gets boiled down as JUST being cute too much. I think her dynamic with Chrome would be more interesting. And in the current arc, they're being recognized almost as equals. They get along but not in a 'best buds' way. They're totally siblings

I just learned how to toggle the bucket setting to expand the edge of the thingy so that there's no thin layer of uncolored space at the edges. And that there's a "close gaps" setting so I don't have to worry about having perfect lineart before using the bucket. All thanks to a quick coloring tutorial from sabertooth walrus

"Include this area as a selection" makes it easy to recolor lineart. I found out about it the other day and just used it now. Makes clothing folds on dark clothes easy to see

"Oh wow how do you get your thin lines so smooth?" I simply do not breathe.

My attitude towards making art has gotten so much healthier lately. My intro post says something about how my posts don't warrant the amount of effort I put in, and that's because I'd often think that whatever I was making was pointless. Now I dont really care about that, I'm throwing my all into making this thing because I wanna see what "my all" would be. It doesn't have to be meaningful or successful, I just had to remind myself that I'm doing this for fun. And it is a lot of fun

I should probably save the background for tomorrow. For now though, I have a passable meme! The characters are all fully drawn on the screenshot and the punchline is yknow. Within the single picture already. Except I went ahead and looked up where that line came from and came up with two extra screenshots to draw over so that'll take another day. I can PROBABLY finish by tomorrow? If I manage my time

Hmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I feel like this isn't testing my skills, as much as it is testing my patience, which I have a lot of. Maybe if I made myself color it it'll be more challenging. Maybe if I didn't have a photo to copy from. Maybe if I drew the background differently, changed the scene. Hmmmmm. I wanna try drawing nature scenes sometime, and experiment in tone values. You can do so much with greytones, and I'm not using that to its full extent

Bro sells videos of puppets being destroyed in grisly ways, and y’all take that as sexual assault. Fandom takes that as “Bro r*pes Dave to sleep every night!!!”

"Oh hell no" does not mean "Ironically, walk on in Dave! it's cool that you know my password and dig through my files.” Dave asserts this through the narrative as if it’s true. But there’s nothing from Bro to indicate that he is at all cool with Dave looking through his shit. The guardians don’t speak much in general. If at all. They are silenced. We know that they MUST be talking to each other, right? But by way of the narrative we are unable to see this. Like how they have to unlock the “gift of gab” to be able to talk to one another outloud in a dialog. So it is symbolic of how difficult it is to communicate with your parents.

The characters are frequently wrong in their assumptions but Homestuck does not remind the reader "Oh ho, you were wrong!" Until a thousand pages later when you realize they were wrong the whole time. Or you never realize it because you don't reread it and don't pay attention and only care about fanon.

And when Dirk and Dave are on the rooftop, Dave says to Dirk:

All I wanted when I made my point about the guardians was for people to take Dad Egbert slamming pies and cakes into Johns face every day as seriously as this. Or take Rose being neglected to the point of attempted suicide as seriously as this. Or take toddler Jade being handed a loaded gun as seriously as this. Or take John and Jane being forced to stay permanently locked away in their houses as seriously as this.

If you can’t, then you shouldn’t be reading Homestuck or involving yourself in the fandom.
