i don’t understand why people hate gale.

“he’s annoying” or “he talks too much” or “he’s too clingy and got offended when i was in a relationship” (which was a BUG, it takes two seconds to do some research before jumping to conclusions) are the most stupid reasons to actually hate a character.

he’s the one that has the warmest personality when you first meet him as well, so i just don’t get it?? i’m not saying you’re not allowed to dislike him, and this doesn’t apply to everyone, but SOMETIMES it feels like people just hop on a “hate bandwagon” because i see so many comments (especially on tiktok… where most of the people only started playing because it’s “trendy” now) about him that are the exact same as each other and it’s like people have lost the ability to think for themselves and form their own opinions after actually playing the game properly and learning about the characters.

so many people even go on about how it’s a turn off that he “doesn’t shut up about his ex”… like maybe actually continue playing the story to understand why it’s a significant conversation to have and why it’s a huge part of his character arc, and stop being weirdly bitter/jealous/annoyed when the man is also a VICTIM that has been manipulated and abused in a relationship with a massive power imbalance.

Once again thinking about Naruto (because it’s just making me sad that I’m not dating a sweet extraterrestrial who can hold me while I’m sick) and scenarios only I like:

Kid Naruto finding out he has chakra chains and mokuton but instead of getting to use them to be a badass ninja, he quickly gets caught up in politics because Tsunade’s like “fuck yeah” and makes him her “heir” (because she doesn’t wanna hear anymore of that “continuing the senju line” shit from clan elders)

So now they just have this overpowered kid doing incredibly mundane things like learning “tea etiquette” or whatever clan stuff they got and making him regret that he unlocked these wild magical ninja powers

Also I really want this because nothing’s funnier to me than the idea of people suddenly treating Naruto the same way you’d treat a sickly sheltered princess (because you just know they’d be worried about assassination and kidnapping attempts) and the whole time it’s just. Naruto. still acting like himself. and is now overpowered.

It’s 3 am and I’m sleepy no time to expand on this but Not Spared universe where the same night he’s defeated an apparition of Narinder appears in the cult, slowly walking around its perimeter, completely unresponsive. Lamb stands in its way and it stops but gives no sign of noticing, seeing, hearing, smelling, etc them. It cannot be moved, as if turned to stone, and will only continue once the person has stepped out of his way.

In a way, he haunts them and the cult- and, later on, his siblings, too. Leshy doesn’t even realize the sound he hears every night is “him” until Heket comes along. You can only watch the ghost of your brother so long before it starts to hurt….

See I don’t really see it that way? Because if I know the term right, Tsundere implies they’re into each other from the get-go and the anger is just an excuse to get to know each other.

For Alabastards their ship dynamic is default White Knight, only instead of developing a mutually respectful relationship, they instead diverge into a more toxic direction.

They genuinely do not like each other for basically most of the time up till their hatefucking and a good chunk of time after.

Jaune got off on the wrong foot with Weiss, so she’s just constantly lambasting him.

And Jaune eventually got fed up with Weiss giving him shit even after he stopped propositioning here.

I’m thinking he gets mad at her after seeing her be mean to Ruby. Ruby obviously forgives weiss basically immediately, but Jaune had already went “fuck this shit.” And cussed a bitch out.

And they realized as they were arguing that

a) both of them have ludicrously thick skin because of family/hate crimes and 7 sisters, respectively so it’s nigh impossible to get them actually angry if there’s no malice behind their words

b) they’re pretty much always going to be in close proximity because Ruby and Jaune genuinely love hanging out together, and their teams get along incredibly well

And c) it’s really, REALLY fun to rile the other up.

The rest of their teams are fucking baffled by how seeing each other just turns them into complete assholes, even with all the character development. But also they work incredibly well together when they have a common goal?

Eventually it’s less they hate each other and more they just got used to sniping at each other.

…wait…fuck, I suppose in the end it is kinda two tsunderes who are into each other. Lol

Idk. The vibe still feels different to me? More like belligerent sexual tension than tsundere vibes. Where it’s not that they both secretly love each other and they use anger to cover for it, but it’s more they both love making the other angry/worked up. More hatefuck than reluctant/embarrassed date.

Someone made a lovely comment on one of these posts that mentioned “The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s apathy.” And those two are anything but apathetic to the other.

…also I’m debating adding other ships/assholes into the Alabastards type AU’s. Low key wanna do one where Ruby demonstrates why she’s best friends with both of them, and one where Pyrrha fucking roasts someone. I’ll have to be careful tho otherwise I’m gonna indulge in my polyshipping tendencies and someone is going to get in the middle of an Alabastards sandwich.

Though tbh it’s not really a full AU or anything, so I’m always open to ideas if people want to have them! Feel free to add some in the notes below!
