So I know I'm not supposed to be doing my laundry between the December Solstice and New Year's day because of Frau Holle/Perchta/The Wild Hunt and all that.

BUT doing laundry in that time is said to be risky because yer clothes drying on a line could trip the Hunt or yer bedding could get nicked for a funeral shroud. So does that mean if I use a dryer or hang the clothes inside...alles gut?

I've seen the debate before of if Death Note characters have superpowers what would it be, and I've seen a lot of fun possibilities. But I propose that Soichiro Yagami would have frost-related powers for no reason other than the fact people with frost powers always inexplicably come with family-related trauma. Say what you want about his character but Soichiro is certainly the poster child for family-related trauma in this series.
