>be me, chemist with clogged drains
>buy solid lye because it's cheaper than liquid drain cleaner
>carefully equip all the right PPE, use a good solid bucket to make the mixture, add lye to water rather than water to lye
>successfully unclog the drains without harming myself or any objects around
>put the lye in the bases bucket in the utility closet
>walk back over to my desk, proud of myself for my accomplishment, feeling like i've gotten far less clumsy over the years
>sit down
>immediately roll over and crush the shit out of my big toe with my desk chair so hard it bleeds

You know what? The cancellation makes me sad, but not because I liked the show, more just because of what could have been. The show had the opportunity to be so good and broach the topics and themes with such intricacy as the books did, but it largely failed to do so. I can see how people could still enjoy the show if they were watching for other reasons, but for me it just fell flat in very bitter and at times offensive ways. It was surface-level, taking the outermost layer of each character and discarding the rest to fit into a disjointed story. I wanted it to be good, I wanted it to delve deeply into the characters and stories I love, but it didn't, and its cancellation just reminds me of that disappointment. Though seeing people upset about it makes me sad too, it also makes me feel somewhat isolated in my reasons for enjoying the book series in the first place and my feelings about the show. I would have liked to have a show that I could feel angry about the cancellation of, not a weird sadness-relief.
Also kinda bummed out for the actors!! They were clearly very excited for their roles and had little to do with the subpar writing.

[Image description : a two-part meme. In the top part, a black man looks happy, with the text "Julia asserts herself" to the left. In the bottom part, the same man looks distraught as the text on the left says "It's by refusing to help Carmen". /End description]

I'm kinda sad about how many gorgeous lesbians have rejected me but every time the reason is that they aren't attracted to a man which feels very validating as a trans something guy.

There's been a lot about maidenless Azul these days, and I just got hit with inspiration. In your fic where the princess had him as a "pet"/ bestie, he seems to win. Not only does he get his girl, but he gets to keep her in a nice cage, and have a baby with her. However, I can totally see the twins who were very pumped to see him and hear his stories after all these years, and probably helped build the cage, and subdue the darling the first few weeks, being a little jealous. They want to play with the new pet too! So they both decide they should just have some playtime, and maybe get some baby eels out of it. Meanwhile Azul is in the corner like, "I can't have anything, can I?"
(cw: yandere, female reader, nsfw, implied dub-con, captivity, unhealthy behaviors/relationship)
They're definitely jealous and a little annoyed. How dare you take Azul away from them and then cry and whine when they're subduing you? If anything, you're deserving of this treatment. The twins definitely know lots of torture techniques (courtesy of the family business), so they have no problem using a few as a means to threaten you into submission. But their services aren't free. Sure, they're all friends but they want to have fun, too. Plus, you're a human from the surface who had a child with a mer! They're obviously very curious about your anatomy when they circle your cage, peering in at you like you're a means of entertainment for them.
In hindsight, Azul was foolish to leave the two of them to guard you and the baby while he went out to gather a few things. When he returns, the baby is fast asleep in the coral crib and the twins have you sandwiched between them while they use your body for their own pleasure. If you can birth Azul's baby, then you can birth theirs! After all, the family business needs lots of capable mers and their parents will be very proud of them for finding a suitable mate.
The twins aren't allowed in the cave for the rest of that day, and Azul will console you with sweet words and gentle touches. Below the surface, at such a dark depth, your skin is frigid despite the potions Azul has concocted to regulate your body temperature and allow you to breathe underwater. But you can't survive in these conditions forever. It seems he'll have to make you like him soon.
You'd rather be an octopus mer than an eel mer, right? He'll build a happy family with you regardless of Jade and Floyd's intervention.

No, I’m not okay because Argentina loves to choke at big stages and if they got knocked out, istfg they would never live it down, but of course Leo saved the day and in the most Leo way too and I almost cried and then he almost cried and then Fernandez scored with a Leo assist and Leo carried his entire country on his goddamn back (and Martinez with a save) and someone dug up Fernandez’s 2016 Facebook post when Leo was thinking of retiring from the NT which was a whole love letter to Leo about how wrongly Leo’s been treated, how Leo has so much pressure that no one can understand, how he wants Leo to have fun, and he’s playing with his childhood idol and he got a goal at the World Cup and his childhood idol assisted him and Pablo Aimar was on the bench on the verge of a panic attack, crying and hyperventilating, and and and—
I just think about how the entire world was overjoyed when Leo won Copa America and how, regardless of whether you’re Argentinian/you support Argentina or not, the entire world wants him to win the World Cup. And you compare that to R***** and the difference couldn’t be clearer because no one gives a damn about seeing the latter win it or they actively want to avoid seeing that happen. Leo’s so beloved and I think it’s a testament to his character and career that there’s this outpouring of love that has become louder and more sincere as he enters the final stages of his long, storied career. We all know we don’t have much time left with him, and I love that we’re letting him know that we love him and appreciate him. And that’s what makes him indisputably the GOAT.
