Episode 11
To be clear I’ve not watched it yet technically I’m still on episode three don’t at me about it
Charlie was/is so sure that his death was the only way to fix everything — to protect Babe and Jeff — that he was willing to actually die to do it.
Like, yes, given Jeff’s ability and everything it’s likely they knew or assumed things would end up fine.
But, Charlie crashed his car and had someone give him experimental drugs. The crash could have killed him for real — the drug could have killed him — the second drug could have killed him — he could never have any abilities again — he could end up permanently disabled because of the accident. Obviously, none of these will happen because that’s not where the show is going. But they could have.
Charlie believed that his death was the answer with complete conviction and went through with the plan regardless of legitimate risks to his wellbeing.
That’s devotion AND 3D chess all wrapped up with a bow.

Update on the really old GT book I've been reading,
For some reason, it keeps implying that a tiny being in a giants hands is "silly" and "babyish" and "humiliating" and I don't know if I should be offended or feel called out.

This suggest a couple of things
1. Jason believes Farrah is attracted to Clive.
2. Clive considers Farrah to be socially aggressive, rather than just regular aggressive.
3. Clive would be inclined to reject propositions from anyone who was not willing to explore a long-term commitment.
Therefore, I propose the following theory: Farrah tried to hook up with Clive back in book 1. Clive said no, since she was only planning to be in town for a couple months and he (at the time) was planning to stay in Greenstone. He thought he was telling her he would be interested in a serious relationship, and assumed she would tell him if she changed her mind about staying nearby. Farrah interpreted this as Clive being uninterested altogether, and never brought it up again, except for passive-aggressive comments in book 10 about how no one has the courage to bang her. Clive has no idea she is talking about him, because as far as he is concerned, he told her exactly what he wanted in a potential relationship, and she said no because she prefers casual encounters.
Meanwhile, Jason thinks any feelings he has for Clive are strictly a result of his soul bond with Farrah, and is diplomatically trying to stay out of it.

kotlc worldbuilding is literally like the mary sue of worlds lmao. like wdym everyone is magically hot and rich?? that breaks the rules of how a. money works and b. attractiveness works 😭 beauty only exists because less beautiful things exist for it to be compared too and valued over, its not like an inherent, definable quality. rich people only exist because poor people exist.
